12/01/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: If you want a simple one line treatment, so that the condition doesn't get worse and have immediate improvement. Here is the remedy: Prepare 1 gram of hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate), add 3 grams of sea salt, dissolve this in one liter of distilled water. Shake the bottle, until it dissolves. Keep refrigerated. The average dose is between 1-3 capfuls mixed in 1 glass of water taken once or twice a day. This should help improve breathing and reduce the spread of the condition. Inflammation will be lower with turmeric or a better curcumin. A turmeric is taken at one tablespoon twice a day. The relief should be felt before the day is out.
What it does is the hyaluronate lubricates the entire circulatory system, especially the lungs, thus reducing the resistance, which then reduces the inflammation.
The water bottle in which you put in the sodium hyaluronate and sea salt will be about 1 liter.
Very best regards,
07/08/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: Dear Howard:
The best chromium supplements that doesn't cause "jumpy" conditions is the chromium chloride. The chromium picolinate people complain to me about jumpiness, by the way. Therefore for the time being, I prefer to use chromium chloride as it caused the least problem. The second choice I used is likely to be chromium polynicotinate, because it's a vitamin B from of chromium. Picolinate might have been well documented, but this is also a problem since the patent holder also financed the research trials, without comparisons to the other forms of chromium. Therefore, I prefer to use the ones with the least problems. In my experience, if they do have problems the side effects can bet bad in a few cases, and hence it's best to stick to the ones without any problems from general use.
In any event, magnesium supplements will be the primary remedy when we have to discuss with heart muscles, and heart beats, it helps muscles become more relax, while calcium makes them too contractive.
I am a naturopathic physician and have been trying to help my Dad who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis 2000. He has been on numerous supplements, has done hydrogen peroxide baths and used a glutathion nebulizer. He was doing OK for a long time - last year with the hydrogen peroxide foot baths and glutathione his breathing even seemed to get a little better. I noticed he was able to walk further with less wheezing and his energy seemed to be better.
His health took a down turn over the last 3-6 months and in response to this he started following the protocol from the website "Get Healthy Again". He has reported that he is coughing less and producing much less mucous. I told him I thought this was a really good sign and that perhaps things would continue to get better in other ways if he stays with the program.
I have been hearing more and more about niacin and some of the suggestions from Earth Clinic.
What would you do in this situation?
Do you recommend niacin?
Do you recommend apple cider vinegar aersolized? If so, How do you recommend aersolizing the apple cider vinegar - my Dad's breathing is really impaired, he is on oxygen and humid weather really bothers him.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ANY HELP/SUGGESTIONS YOU CAN OFFER!Â
04/11/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: The ability to increase oxygen to the system is a primary concern in getting more oxygen to him. The ability of any liquids to absorb oxygen or retain oxygen, and liberate out carbon dioxide is very much dependent on alkalinity of any liquids. This can be demonstrated quite easily when you add baking soda to a carbonated drinks or carbonated water. The carbon dioxide is liberated out. The bicarbonates also buffers the acid and it increases its ability to retain oxygen. However, the body's acidity the further it gets away from the heart as well as the high metabolism won't be able to rid of carbon dioxide efficiently and all bicarbonates are used up. As a result a stronger form of carbonate does reach the brain and the remedy I used, often used in medical emergencies to save the brain from damage due to acidosis is called carbicarb. Unfortunately they still needed modification because the sodium in form of carbonates are irritating to the kidneys without sufficient potassium. Therefore I have since modified that formulation. The remedy to increase oxygen and reaching deep into the brain and other extermities to buffer the acid and increase oxygen by the use of alkalinity is as follows:
1/4 teaspoon of sodium carbonate plus 1/4 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate plus 1/2 teaspoon of tripotassium citrate (common name potassium citrate) is dissolved in 1/2 glass of water taken two to three times a day. The most common is taken before sleep by two hours and one more in the morning. Middle of day or late afternoon is optional and varies from person to person.
The second factor to reduce oxygen requirement and this is often taken once every two or three days is either a 200 i.u. vitamin E or a 400 i.u. vitamin E. I prefer the natural vitamin E than a synthetic one, as it is not as effective.
Muscles of the heart benefit by magnesium, the ones I used is magnesium citrate because they are water soluble. If they are not, then that' likely because of the additives and may no work effectively as a pure one. The usual dose is 500 mg taken and within three days some gradual reducing pain is noticed, and ability to wake up in the morning being tired and groggy is significantly reduced. Some weakness maybe helped with a vitamin B complex, but this may increase craving for food. As to the niacin to dilate the blood vessels to increase oxygen, I prefer a more conservative approach such as using cayenne peppers or the addition of tobasco sauce or hot sauce in food to help dilate the blood vessels this way. It seems that the heart benefits from that.
The other thing is a lot of people I know who have asthma live in high humidity, near the beach and especially if fungus and molds exposure in the past seems to worsen the breathing. I used two things, either one is fine. Clove oil and ammonium bicarbonate remedy. The clove oil is 5% solution mixed in 95% ethanol (alcohol found in vodka) and use this as an aerosol and breathed in or sprayed in the room is fine. It helps the breathing. Killing the tiny fungus that tend to occur in stale room are often killed most easily with a 10% solution of ammonium bicarbonate, but if that's not avaiable I improvise with a 10% ammonium chloride solution with 10% milk of magnesia (8 % magnesium hydroxide) without the aluminum hydroxide and use this as an aerosol spray in the air and breathe some of that. It seems to improve the breathing by killing of fungus like bacteria along the lungs and people will noticed much fresher air if this is used now and then.
An akaline form of malic acid such as 1/2 teaspoon plus 1 teaspoon of baking soda to neutralize the acid in 1/2 or 3/4 water. Primarily hydrogen peroxide drops helps in the short term such as two hours time using a 10 drop 3% H2O2 in a glass of water and taken internally. It clears the blood of biofilms and oxygenate the blood that way. Using an aerosol of H2O2 may help reduce their numbers, but if the body is already high in acid, blood sugar is high, immune system is low, then these pathogen and fungus comes back. The effects of ammonium aerosol kills the fungus and reduces the extreme humidity that block the breathing and this is how it helps increase oxygen. High protein foods, high oils and acid forming food drives out alkalinity reducing the oxygen, while mostly vegetarian diets (a good vegetarian cookbook is helpful), reduces the body's enzyme overhead without the need to take a lot of enzyme supplements, as meats and protein require much higher enzyme overhead, causing the body to be depleted, leaving little for the enzymes to defend the body's immune system of pathogens.
Aersolized ammonium solution can be mixed with 10% pure xylitol solution to aid their removal of the pathogens found in the lungs also. Without xylitol, other polyols are possible such as mannitol or a more deeper acting erythritol is also helpful ast 10% concentration added. As to the vinegar solution, apple cider vinegar is organic so it'can't be mixed with hydrogen peroxide, being reactive with organic compounds. A peracetic acid is possilbe with equal mixes of a 3% H2O2 with a plain vinegar is possible also to be used as room aerosol or a weaker solution by diluting the entire solution with water twice more. For example if I have 125 cc of 3% H2O2, and 125 cc of vinegar, I will add 250 cc of water, to get a final solution to a weaker 1.5% H2O2 with a 2% acetic acid as regular distilled vinegar is 5% acetic acid. The distilled vinegar is non organic so the H2O2 won't reactive and neutralized as in apple cider vinegar. The peracetic acid can kill much more pathogens then either vinegar or hydrogen peroxide used individually. Vitamin A now and then may reduce a bit of wheezing by increasing vitamin A along the breathing passages, reducing the air resistance during the breathin process. The dose is low, and 25000 i.u, which is a small amount of vitamin A is taken once a day. One or two small round capsules.
It should be noted that after and during rain or humic conditions I may spray aerosols of ammonium solution to clear the humidity and stuffiness so breathing isn't interferred. A sea salt solution of 10% may be preferred aerosol mixed with H2O2 at low concentrations such as 1% is the ones that I seem to like and helps with breathing much like a sea mist water and this is quite helpful too in killing some bacteria with increased salinity. In any event the website mentioned don't place the importance of alkalinity which I believe is needed to drive out carbon dioxide and increase oxygen retention in the blood over the long run.
12/17/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: In short idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is best helped if alkalization the body first such as 1/2 baking soda plus 1/4 potassium bicarbonate as a quick remedy, in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day.
Usually a condition of fibrosis is quite often a fungus issue, and the body responds with autoimmunity, after the body is short of iodine, boron, and selenium. Certain diets lower iodine levels including thiocyanate rich foods such as cassava. However, low boron, low selenium and low iodine needs to be supplemented, as is sodium ascorbate vitamin C
To increase oxygen, usually DMSO, 1/2 teaspoon per glass of water is best as a starting dose as well as alkalization. Fibrosis condition is also a problem of high blood sugar spikes, from not drinking enough water during meals. And hence, I have seen some reversals of fibrosis, when 1500 mcg of chromium was taken, as is along with magnesium (which displaces calcium), and the magnesium supplements is without any calcium. The preferred magnesium is magnesium citrate, or at least magnesium chloride, 500 mg a day.
These are just the basic information.
12/18/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: One more thing: to reduce autoimmune response is the commonly known d-mannose, found in cranberries, or d-mannose taken separately since cranberries have high fructose. The reason is simple: people with pulmonary fibrosis that I am aware of has low MBL (mannose binding lectins), which prevents pathogens from binding to healthy cells leading to a fibrosis condition anyway. Of course other alternatives works too, such as 1 teaspoon of erythritol (which is absorbed much faster) or xylitol of similar amount. A nebulizer can incorporate 5% or 10% concentration of erythritol or xylitol to reduce the autoimmune response so that firbrotic conditions won't increase more. It seems to me that most polyol sugars have an effect of removing lectins, a glue that is required by bacteria and maybe viruses and fungus on healhy cells leading to an autoimmune response. Mannose, and polyol sugars prevent lectins from sticking to healthy cells.
Some people have asked my quite frequently and I also forget frequently to mention how to remove the excessive fibrosis that's already filled up. One possible way is bloodroot tincture (40% blood root in ethanol solution), sometimes called sanguinaria canadesis tincture. I haven't quite set up a proper concentration, but assuming I did, a bloodroot tincture of 3 drops per 250 cc of water is used as a nebulizer, should be sufficienty weak enough that it doesnt harm the body but is suffiicient to reverse them. In theory anyway it's done about 2 or 3 times a day. Taken internally the dose is similar at 3 drops at 2 or 3 times a day. Of course, that just my best guess. It takes about a week or two to notice improvement. When improvement begins it's often best to reduce the dose by 1/2 for example. I haven't quite work out the maintenance, that's all depends on how well people can reduce autoimmunity from mannose, erthritol and xylitol supplements. DO NOT USE xylitol gums, they contain aspartame and will degrade to formaldehyde, so it will worsen the autoimmunity condition, as does mushrooms, white bread and other high lectin foods.
I read with much interest many of yourr comments, replies and advice to many troubled people and marvel at the extent of your knowledge which your share so effortlessly. So now I have a question ,which is; in taking sodium perborate in concert with Aloe Vera and N.A.C,how many mg and how often. Also, should it be tetra or hydra.I am already taking an enzyme therapy (Neprinol) which is having a positive effect, but I want to do more for my IPF and I feel that you have the answers.
I will wait eagerly for your reply.
Very best regards.
03/05/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: Your email ended up in my spam mail. So I went to check and found your letter. Thank you for reminding me.
The sodium perborate works like a hydrogen peroxide and borax in one solution. Hence, the dose if it is mixed is roughly the same as the usual borax in drinking water remedy. In which case, 1/4 teaspoon of sodium perborate, well stirred in a liter of drinking water is used. As to the tetra issue, the tetrahydrate. The tetra has more water component so they are more easily dissolved. Most use forms do contain a hydrate or tetra hydrate or other names, but it reflects its ability to dissolve in the water quickly enough too.
Boron in general raises the body's hormones to generally more normal levels whenever the hormones are below normal.
Enzyme therapy are generally o.k., but the body's ability to digest food tends to deplete the body's limited enzyme. To conserve enzyme so that it is used in other ciritcal areas as in the body's immune system, eatin less oily, rich foods, and meats, especially overcooked and fried are very taxing to the body's limited ezyme and eating more vegetables, and less meats, but generally partially cooked, reduced sugar, and less oily will help conserve the body's limited enzyme. I tend to be a bit conservative on enzyme use and use them and take them with food so that I don't get excess enzymes in my body to digest itself too much but helps reduce the burden of digestion process. The body's enzyme can also be reduce if people drink more water so that the water can process the digested food easier as the water helps flush out toxins out of the sytem faster. This is why some people feel better if they drink plenty of water during eating. It helps flush out toxins and acidic waste better, but it doesn't dilute the acid in the stomach since the stomach generally will squeeze out the liquids to the stomach before it digests the bulk food. This fact has been observed by an army surgeon for over 150 years ago. Vegetables are also rich in enzymes, as partially cooked liver when is added in foods on some ocassions.
