Natural Fibroid Treatment

What Are Fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are benign growths that can form in the smooth muscle tissue of the uterus and are the most common form of non-cancerous tumors afflicting women during childbearing years. Also known as a leiomyoma (leiomyomata), fibroid tumors often occur in groups. While they often show no symptoms, uterine fibroids can cause pain during sexual intercourse or menstruation and affect urinary tendencies. Fibroids and pregnancy can have implications; though these symptoms are rare, fibroids can increase the chance of miscarriage, cause bleeding, premature labor, and affect the position of the fetus. The pressure that fibroids may place on the rest of the body can cause gastrointestinal issues like constipation, bloating, and even infertility.

Fibroids are common, 3 out of 4 women will experience them in their lives. However, they do not often require treatment and often women do not experience fibroid symptoms that affect them at all. When fibroids cause pain or excessive bleeding they should be treated.

Home Remedies for Fibroid Tumors

While not common, there is potential for fibroids to become painful and affect our lives. Listed below we have a great number of natural cures and treatments - especially blackstrap molasses and apple cider vinegar - presented alongside success stories of women improving or eliminating their fibroid conditions. Strategies to prevent fibroids are presented as well.

Adenomyosis   1  0

Posted by Peral (Usa) on 06/04/2011

Hi Ted,

I have read so much about your site. I just want to ask just one question. I have Adenomyosis,

(A 7CM Adneomyoma of the uterus). It was shown on the pelvic sono as a fibroid. I went to another doctor and took an MRI, shows that I have Adenomyosis, of course I do have few 1.4 cm fibroids. This is on the right side of me and never hurts. For years I have been having pain on my left side where a Adenomyosis was found. I took to a holistic ND, who said for me not to drink green tea, because green tea has caffeine and this makes fibroids grow more. She said to drink red raspberry tea. I am confused, because on your site, there are talks about green tea being good for fibroids. I used to drink decaffeinted with (4% caffeine). Ted Please let me know any suggestion to shrink Adenomyosis. This is a growth inside of the uterus, the opposite of Endometroisis. I was told that enzyme breaks up fibroids tissue. Please let me know your suggesttion of these growths on the uterus. Adenomyosis is a thickening of the uterus.

Thanks Ted.

Ok... I have never offered a testimonial before but here goes... 4 years ago I was diagnosed with fibroids (6 over 10 cm each). I had transfusions in hospital and was given progesterone. 2 years ago I went off of it and things were relatively normal until this month when my period was back to gushing and clotting. The doc phoned in a prescription for more tablets but I haven't made it to the pharmacy yet. Why? Because, as I am sure you are familiar with, the last two days have been period hell. The furthest I have gone is bathroom to bed.

Lying in bed at 4 am today I realized I was going to miss my usual Saturday women's group breakfast. I grabbed my iPad and found this site. Apple Cider Vinegar? Really? so I went out to the kitchen swallowed two huge tablespoons, choked back some nausea and hit the shower. I felt better than I had so I got dressed and headed to town... Half an hour away... Armed with supplies to make a quick change when I got there, but didn't need to. Sat for an hour and got up last making a mad dash to the restroom to stop the gushing. But, no gushing, hardly a trickle. Could it have worked so fast? Stopped by the market for a few things. The more I walked the better I felt. Bought ACV tabs. Drove the half hour back home... Went to the bathroom, no gushing or even bleeding. No pain. Not even that tired...... I can't believe this is happening but I am glad for it. Can't wait to update you all on the results of my next ultrasound. God bless you for this.

Hi:). I am 34 no children yet.. About 9 years ago I learned had a small fibroid about the size of a nickel then.. Nothing to be concerned with. About 2 years I began a fertility work up BC we have been trying to conceive for almost 10 years with no luck:(. All my tests and procedures came back good! We found out my husband whom has a son from previous relationship actually has a low count.. So we began to consider options to increase the chances for his sperm. When I went in for an ultrasound before starting shots my dr saw something odd and realized I have a rather large (7cm) pedunculated suberosal fibroid. I had a proper ultrasound done to be sure & as soon as it was official she said my options are surgery or luperol to shrink it. Neither option sounded good to me:(. I've read to many negatives about both. I was devastated it almost ruined my marriage... I just couldn't understand why god was making this so hard for my husband & I. About a year ago we got back on track thank god:). Now we are ready to try ivf if they say it's possible with my growth???

Now I'm on here & super curious about ACV and baking soda & all this suff! ? I've always had regular cycles... 26-28 days apart and last for about 4-5 days total. Severe cramps & fairly heavy bleeding. My fibroid being on the outside actually doesn't effect periods but it's in the way of my baby dreams! My questions are have any of you seen actual shrinkage of your fibroids from ACV etc? Also do any of you have my type of fibroid? Pedunculated suberosal outside top of uterus on a stalk??
Thanks so much! Any info & advice is deeply appreciated!!! Respond on here or email me: love2teach77(at)
Thanks again! Shelly

[YEA]   Last year (4/2013) I began to have heavy periods that would not stop. Prior History: I was on the Mirena for a full 5 years and then removed it. Besides the obvious birth control, it helped to control heavy periods. My cycle was very heavy days 1&2, slowly stopping and lasted to 7days on a 28 day cycle. I was told I had fibroids, had exams, ultrasounds, etc.

Fast forward back to 2013. I started to get my period twice a month. One day it began and never ended. I began to bleed so heavy I couldn't leave the house. I had to use a tampon and a pad, changing every hour, sometime more often. I was in the ER of 2 different hospitals. The first one did absolutely nothing. I was back in the ER again, had a transfusion, was admitted overnight and had a d&c. I was released. It continued.

The second ER had me follow up with the gyno. The gyno did a biopsy. No cancer. I ended up in the ER again and had another transfusion. I ended up having a heart attack in my sleep. Thank God I'm well. I had an endometrial ablation, was put on progesterone, and sent to a specialist to consult with about having surgery. A decision was made to have a full hysterectomy because my mother had died from ovarian cancer/tumor 4 years ago.

In my heart I did not want to have the hysterectomy. I have grown children and grandchildren. I prayed about it and asked God what I should do, that I trusted him to lead me how to recover from all of this. The answer was to stop the progesterone. I cut the daily espresso coffee and switch to green tea with organic honey. Next I stopped drinking regular 1% milk and switched to Almond Milk. It made sense because cows are injected with hormones to produce more milk rapidly. Fibroids are linked to too much estrogen. My periods stopped after December 2013.

Someone told me about this website. I read every comment. I prayed again. Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar, Unpasteurized, with "The Mother", was what I went with. I bought it in Walmart at $5 for a 32 oz bottle. I take 2 Tbs in 6 oz of water. I've been taking it since February 15? Still no bleeding(Yaaaa! ) and I've dropped 25 lbs over 3 months which could be from the fibroids shrinking.

My Cardiologist said the ACV wouldn't hurt me. Always check with your doctor if you are on any medication to see if it's okay. I went back the dr to consult about the hysterectomy surgery. Praise God, NO SURGERY NECESSARY! He said he'll see me next year. My advice is if you are bleeding heavy get the Apple Cider Vinegar w "The Mother" take 2 tablespoons in 6 to 8 oz of purified water(filtered, bottled, not tap) every morning 1/2 hour before you eat. I feel the ACV balances your PH levels which affect your hormones.

God bless you all for your suggestions and I hope my story helps.

Last Tuesday (5/13) my doctor called to say I have diabetes and high cholesterol and wants to start me on medication for these diseases. I have to go back to see her on 6/3. In the meantime I am using ACV 3 times per day in water and up my exercise routine. I used to drink ACV and water but had slacked off for the past year due to unemployment. I do not believe one has to take conventional medicine to cure oneself from some diseases. I am quite certain that when I go to see her on 6/3 that these levels will be normal. Will update after my doctor's visit.

Hi Joyce,

There is a Yahoo group called "Stopped Our Statins" that is comprised mostly of people who took prescribed statins, some for only a short time at a low dose, and have heartbreaking stories of autoimmune diseases, sleeplessness, mental fogginess or worse, renal failure and most horribly, muscle damage and weakness that has continued to wreak havoc even years after the statins were stopped. It is thought that we may face a tidal wave of congestive heart failure resulting from the muscle damage from statins, since our heart is a large muscle. It seems to especially target those who were once the most active, although there are many variations to this story. There are heart disease risks, including stress, amount of sleep and seed oils like canola, (mainly coconut oil and olive oil are recommended)but cholesterol is probably not one of them. (Triglycerides are a factor, however, as are some ratios). In fact, the people who live the longest have what is considered high cholesterol. It is thought that sugar and carbs are the offending food, not grass fed fats. The original research by Ansel Keyes, on which the whole fat/cholesterol theory is based, was derived from manipulated data. Articles suggesting carbs seem to be a problem related to artery damage are beginning to appear in several publications and research papers. If your cholesterol is that close to the normal range, you have the right to respectfully decline.

[YEA]  I've always had heavy menstrual cycles. After I had a tubal ligation after the birth of my 2nd child they were much heavier. Super Plus tampon and maxi pad soaked every 1 to 2 hours for 3 days. Over the last year it's gotten really really bad. I felt better after reading other posts and seeing I was not alone. I don't leave the house for 4 to 5 days during my cycle and soak through in 5 to 15 minutes with clots ranging from golf ball to grapefruit size. The last couple of months I've been feeling pressure above my pelvic bone and the area is as hard as a rock. This cycle I had almost no flow. 3 pads only in 3 days but the pressure was intense. I felt like I was going to explode. I don't have insurance and was going to break down and go into debt on Monday to go to the clinic because I was really getting scared. Took a dose of ACV last night after reading all of the posts on the fibroid page. Took another this morning along with a couple of TB of black strap molasses. 3 hours later and I'm now flowing heavily with clots bigger than I've ever seen in my life. While it may not sound like a success because now I'm bleeding most of the pressure is gone and my the hardness has decreased dramatically. I'll keep doing the ACV daily and report back next month on wether my flow lessens or not. Thanks for sharing such sensitive personal info. I've been to so many doctors who have just told me not to worry every woman is different. I thought for sure I was going to have to have surgery. Now I'm hopeful.

Dear Deborah,

Thank you for sharing your story!

I think you are wise to continue with the Apple Cider Vinegar. You might want to continue with the Blackstrap daily as well. At least 1 and maybe 2 Tablespoons. With bleeding that severe you are at risk of anemia and the blackstrap will help with that. Some find it helps with fibroids and other female issues, too.

If you think you are anemic or feel very tired, you might get some liquid Chlorophyll and take a Tablespoon or two of that a day as well.

Please do keep us posted. I hope you will get past having to stay home for days on end each month. That is a pretty major inconvenience! Take care and keep us posted!

Deborah, I have been dealing with fibroids for almost 5 years. You may want to discontinue blackstrap molasses. Sugar, and high glycemic foods caused heavy bleeding in me immediately. I have eliminated symptoms, but I want the fibroids completely eliminated. So I have started researching again. One thing that eliminated excessive bleeding is taking fiber supplementation to detox excess extrogens, I like apple pectin best. You can also use grapefruit pectin, psyllium. Chia seeds may work. Leave white flour products alone too.

Hello ladies,

I suffer from fibroid as well, very very heavy periods, pain, etc. I started taking Ted's alkalizing remedy a month ago for fibroids(among other things) due to his previous post which I will copy below. I will let you know if this works for me. Other factors are important, such as wholesome diet, drink enough water throughout the day, and drink plenty of water with meals to maintain alkalinity in your body. Please let me know how you fare, ladies, and blessings to you:)

Posted by Ted (Bangkok, Thailand) on 07/21/2007

When the body is sufficiently alkalized, the serum calcium normalizes, causing a reduction in cysts and fibroids. Fibroids are a bit tough since the calcium goes deeper than a cysts and will take some time, sometimes with iodine foot painting now and then might be helpful, such as once a week. Normally cysts takes about a month to reduce or in some cases be gone, as the blood will clear up the excess tissue calcium, thus reducing the cysts. Ovaries and menses can only function perfectly whenever the excess calcium in tissues and glandular functions are reduced.

This can be done by getting the proper alkalization so that glandular functions can function normally, and hence normal menses, as well as normal pregnancy, without the blocked fallopian and uterus problem. Some women sadly can't get pregnant because of block fallopian tubes which can be due to fibroids or somes cysts and the ACV and baking soda may help reduce this blockages, or even a lemon and baking soda remedy will also get similar results.

While the lemon (lime) is more effective on alkalizing and potassium, the ACV is more effective on the body's metabolic rate, and hence some reduce weight is experienced. It doesn't require rocket science to realize all this. Only a good understanding of normal body functions. Ideally the ACV and baking soda is taken 3 times a day, but some people find it more convenient to do it 2 times a day because of the heavy work schedules, or other factors.

Hi Tameka, I would take one ounce (approx. a shot glass full) of ACV with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda... When it stops fizzing, add about 12 to 16 ounces of water. I drink this first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, then make another one and sip throughout the day when I am bleeding too heavily. It really, really helps! When a couple of hours goes by without sipping it.... I can tell by how heavy my flow gets. During really bad periods, I also take a glass to bed, and sip it in the night. Use a straw to keep it off your teeth if needed. When I am bleeding that heavy I don't care if I have a straw or not though!

Blackstrap molasses is also very good for this, but does not have as immediate of an effect for me personally. I take a tablespoon of it daily in my coffe. Love the taste.

Good luck to you, I know how miserable it is.... Take care.

Dear Tameka, So sorry about this bleeding! I saw Carly gave you some good advice about how to take the Apple Cider Vinegar. Please also take the Blackstrap Molasses- 1 T. morning and evening. Right off the spoon or in a cup of milk. You can take it any time of day also when the bleeding is heavy. It helps me with bleeding. It also will help replenish your blood. You should take at least 1 T. of blackstrap every day indefinitely. It will keep your blood up, nourish you, and may help the fibroids.

Also, to try and check the bleeding, take 1 t. cayenne pepper in an 8 oz. glass of grape juice. (The grape juice is just to help you get it down. You can take it in water. ) Cayenne is amazing for stopping bleeding. Midwives use it to stop hemmorrhage in childbirth.

Charcoal poultices and activated charcoal internally may be of help to you in the long term, if you want to try that. I will link you to a story of someone who used charcoal for her fibroids. The story is under "Charcoal Babies" a little more than 1/2 way down the page.

Let us know what helps you!

I also had success fixing excessive monthly bleeding with the vinegar tea remedy and an alkalizing diet. At the same time, the little urine leakage that had crept up when I coughed or laughed went away. It lead me to believe both issues were caused by pressure from fibroids. Anyway, it is one of those nasties that life can throw at women. I learned the cure right here and I'm thankful this forum was available when I suffered through it.

Hi. I too had non-stop EXCESSIVE bleeding from ovarian cysts for 1.5yrs - I started taking iodine tablets and DIM and then the bleeding stopped 2 months after taking iodine and 3 wks after taking DIM. I have been taking iodine 50mg+ per day for 1 yr and it has helped with my oc. It is important for people with fibroids as well. You should also take selenium 200mg YEAST FREE tablets, NOW Female Balance and continue with acv.

A green diet and apple juice (organic apples juiced fresh at home) is crucial for eliminating fibroids. No dairy, soy, corn, peanuts, meat, eggs, sugar or processed, junk or fried food.

Start DIM asap. This all should help. Good luck!

Ofelia: A few vegetables have dim. This is harmfull when taken as an isolate. I take 3g/day cold processed maca for dim. The dose for regular maca is 12 g. Fibroids are caused by injury, disease, and estrogen dominance. This is caused by aromatization. This changes good hormones into bad hormones. Hops alcohol extract taken sublingually is the most potent armoatization inhibitor. Take 15g/day raw sweet potato. Chew thoroughly and let dissolve through the gums. This makes progesterone. Capers are highest in quercitin, another aromatization inhibitor. Sweet potatoes make good hormones, aromatization inhibitors prevent them from becoming bad, and maca regulates them. The 3 taken together are a very effective remedy that cures very rapidly. Google raw food videos for nutritional support.

[YEA]  6/2006 I found out that I was pregnant and diagnosed with 3 large fibroid tumors. I miscarriage at 7 month term then returned to the hospital a month later to remove the tumors. Over the years since my surgery I had weight gain (60lbs), heavy menstural cycles last sometimes up to 8 days, severe anemic, severe constipation so I decided to see my obgyn 8/3/2012.He ordered a ultra sound of the abdomen and pelvis. A week later I was told that my tumors has returned (6) and they are larger then prior. I was advised the only option would be a hysterectomy. I'm 39 years old and no kids so I decide to research online for cures to prevent surgery.

I have been taking 2 tsps twice a day of ACV with the mother since 10/4 and I now have a normal cycle. I have lost 59lbs have changed my eating habits whole wheat, lots of vegetables, baked/broil chicken and fish, cut out all sugars including drinks and fast food, drink 8 glasses of H20 daily and exercise occasionally. My before weight was 298lbs and currently I weigh 239. I have my iron under control and I feel wonderful. I visit my obgyn two weeks ago and he scheduled another ultrasound just got my results back and he and the staff was amazed that no tumors exist on the ultra sound. I was so happy to hear the great news but I know to maintain future occurences I will have to take care of myself. I continue to take ACV daily and I just wanted to share my story here and hope that my story can be a help to others. Also I prayed constantly daily because I know at the end of the day God has the last say.

Since 2008 I was suffering with heavy periods and in 2009 I went to accident and emrgency with flodding. I thought I was having a miscarriage but they said I had an infection and gave me antibiotics and was told to go and see my GP. I went to see him a a month later when my period started as it was heavier than when I went to the hospital. Well anyway he told me that at my age, 41, it was very normal to have heavy periods and did not listen to me that something was not right. Flash forward November 2013, I went to see a lady GP at the same surgery and she told me to go straight away and get a blood test done and gave me tranexamic tablets and made a referral to get a scan done.

At this point I was suffering with dizzyness, palpitations, a fuzzy head, whooshing in my ears sounding like a heartbeat, feeling faint, hot br eathless walking up stairs and long distances, diffuculty concentrating, hard to focus, fellings like my nose wanted to bleed, pain in hip and shoulder when layng down, feeling extremely cold, feeling extremely hot after walking up a flight of stairs, swollen ankles, heavy periods with flooding and enormous clots, cracks occasionally at the corners of my mouth, gurgling noises in my stomach even when I was not hungry, something feeling hard in my stomach, fatty deposits under my yes, occasionally extremely scaly skin on hands, and swollen ankles and I looked pregnant.

The following day after the blood test, Saturday morning, I received a call from the hospital telling me to go to accident and emergency straight away. My hb was 6.9 and they hooked me up straight away to give me a blood transfusion. I was given iron tablets and told if I felt dizzy or had any symptoms as before I had to go back. Now, early Monday morning my lady GP phoned me and told me to go and see her. She explained that I was severly anaemic and she prescribed me ferrous fumurate 210mg.

When I had the scan the lady doing it had to call in her colleague for a second opinion. She informed me I had 3 fibroids and that 1 of them was 12cm long. I went back to see my GP and she reiterated that I had fibroids and what looked like an ovarian cyst. She scheduled for me to see a gynacologist. At the appointment with her she informed me I would need a mymeoctomy ( sorry for the spelling) and that it was not guaranteed that I would not end up having a hysteractomy. Oh and she was going to remove an ovary. I left thee feeling numb and cried for a few days.

I decided I was going to take my health into my own hands and did many weeks of research. To cut a long story short I was addicted to sweets and I gave them up and anything that had an estrogenic effect on my body. So that meant organic meat and chicken but no pork, organic vegetables and fruits, no soda, herbal and green teas minus the 4 teaspoons of sugar I would add lol.I cut out fast food and eating out at restaurants and was now cooking at home. I also cut out anything white eg white bread, flour etc and had whole foods instead.

In the morning I would take Dim with cod liver oil, followed by a green smoothie with fruit with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar added and I would also take vitex. I would have the same for lunch but have different leafy greens and fruit in my smoothy for lunch. At dinner time I would have a home cooked meal and in the evening I may have a slice of spelt bread with oganic or wholefood peanut butter. I also included into the raw food diet into my regime and this hepled enormously with being able to eat cakes and biscuits made out of medjool dates and nuts and seeds. Believe me they do not taste as bad it sounds. They are scrumptious.

Now it is January and I have had my first period. I hardly noticed it unless I wiped. My stomach has shrank dramatically and the hardness in my stomach has gone. I must also add that I have a epsom salts bath 3-4 times a week followed by castor oil packs that I leave on overnight followed by a special massage when I take the castor oil pack off in the morning. I no longer look pregnant, have more energy than I can deal with lol, I look younger and so much more refreshed.

I say all this to say do your research, don't just listen to your doctors when they try to push surgery onto you and the mad thing is that after all of this surgery the fibroids have a good chance of coming back. Take control of your own lives and think positive.

Much love to the many womenon your fibroid and cyst journey.

Ps I have tried to condense my story but there is so much I would like to say to help other women. So sorry of you felt you were reading an essay (hugs to you all)

Dear Toyin,

You may be encouraged by the many stories of women who were healed naturally from fibroids and ovarian cysts (follicular cysts being a common kind.) without needing surgery.

Here are two links that include stories of women who avoided surgery.

Two things that have helped women with both problems is Apple Cider Vinegar and Blackstrap Molasses.

I would start with 1 teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in a tall glass of water once a day. If that agrees with you, you might move up to 2 or 3 teaspoons of vinegar in your water each day. I would also take 1 Tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses each day. You can take it straight, put it in your coffee or tea or in milk.

Castor Oil Packs are also helpful for both situations, but perhaps a little more trouble. If you want to try them, here is a link to how to do them:

You should not use them during your period.

Let us know how it goes for you!

[YEA]   Hi All,

First of all I want to thank everyone for their sincere & helpful sharings...this site is a miracle itself. My pelvic scan revealed 5.7cm fibroid, degenerated cyst, enlarged uterus (all inside womb). I searched & got this site; immediately changed my more diaries & processed foods, eat more beans instead of rice, dark leafy veges, lots of more junks and fast foods...things that increase estrogen levels.

In response to Toyin; I ordered my Bragg ACV with the mother & organic unsulphured blackstrap mollasses on 16/09/14 at N18000 ( 1 litre Acv & 3 bottles BS). I just started taking it (a day) & strongly believe that at my next scan for sure I shall see the fibroids no more by the grace of God who has made it possible for others. I plan for next scan in a month's time because I also want to conceive and bear children. More success and greater grace to all of us. Stay blessed.

Hi, I have a similar problem. Also diagnosed with fibroids (had them for many years) but have never given me any problems. I'm 54 and at my last exam the Dr. told me I was in menopause and my period lasted a month. 4 months later I got it again and it's dragging on for a month and a half, last two weeks very light. Went to another gynocologist and she told me to have a hysterectomy as I have a prolapsed fibroid which has lodged in the vaginal wall. I hate to have major surgery for very light bleeding so will be trying this ACV as a last resort. I'm drinking gallons of tea (nettle, raspberry leaf) but I cannot eliminate the bleeding. ACV is my last resort and I will let you know.

It's also very easy to make your own apple cider vinegar with apple cores and peels (as easy as making sauerkraut or kosher pickles), or your can use whole apples if you want to. It takes a few weeks, but it's very inexpensive and you know what's in it! There are many tutorials and recipes available on the web.

[NAY]  Hi: I have been diagnosed with several fibroids. Seems like surgery is the only opcion according to the doctor. I did some research and I found your webpage. I started the apple cider cure about 2 months ago, I do it 3 times a day but so far I haven't see any relief (the only thing is I am not so tired now). I still feel the fibroids and I have pain. I am taking normal apple cider vinager (we don't have fancy stuff or organic things). My question is: is this cure for real?, I am sort of dissapointed. Thank you.

Should I take ACV on a daily basis or during menstruation only? I want to know which is more effective? First of all, allow me to thank you for this bery helpful website. I come across this website after I had my D & C procedure last Sept. 1, 2012. Prior to that, I was heavily bleeding for a month last August, that's why mt OBGYM opted for a D & C procedure to stop the bleeding. After the procedure, my doctor suggested that I should undergo an operation for my fibroids. She said that I will still be bledding every month during my period. I told her to postpone the operation.

Meantime, I was looking for an alternative ways and means. After many research, I come across this wedsite. From then, I started taking ACV diluted in a glass of water every morning and evening until now. Had my period last week, there were 2 days of heavy flow with big clots. (was a bit panic, took hemostan tablets to stop the bleeding). The flow subsided and my period stop last night. Waiting for comments. Thanks.

I truly don't believe it was an accident when I stumbled across this website the other night. I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids about four years ago after noticing some changes with my menstrual cycle. After this finding, I went on a research rampage to learn all I could about these tumors that were invading my body. Long story short, I was told of the many evasive treatment options that only seem to provide short term relief (if at all).

I'm 41 years old and at a breaking point with this condition. I went from having periods that lasted 5 days to cyles lasting 7 days.. Sometimes 8. Instead of every 28 days, it comes about every 20. There were times when I had two cycles in one month. Its out of control.

Anyway, after reading a lot of the testimonials on here, I decided to give this a try. What do I have to lose right? I am currently taking 2 teaspoons of the vinegar w/ 8 oz of water, twice a day. I started taking it while I was on the second day of my menstrual.

I have only been taking it for three days so far and I have noticed a decrease in bleeding around day three of my cycle. Which usually slows around the fourth or fifth day. The pressure and pain had subsided as well. So far, it seems to be doing something.

I will continue to use this remedy and watch for even more significant changes. Does anyone have any sugesstions on whether or not to take the Apple Cider Vinegar with food? Thank you for allowing me to share my story. I wish you all wellness. I will keep you all posted.

I have suffered subserosal fibroids along with endometriosis and endo cyst in the left ovary for 5 years, the pain used to be crippling but I was given prostap injections along with mirena coil and it worked wonders. 5 years on and all hell has broken out. I have absolutely no pain but the fibroid and cyst started to flare up again, I was given another round of prostap which has shrunk the cyst slightly but teh fibroids have remained the same. They are not keen on giving me a hysterctomy as they said it was too dangerous. I am currently taken a herbal rememdy of Angus Cactus and Female Essence but have seen no difference. Would the ACV work in reducing the fibroids or is it only effective if you are having bleeding as well?

Hi Lady D -

I am now 50 with no signs of menopause. I have had fibroids and ovarian cysts (off and on, mostly on) for about 20 years. They are SO MUCH better now. I take ACV daily when I have my period, and just once in a while the rest of the month now.

(One oz ACV mixed with 1/2 tsp baking soda, when it stops bubbling add 14 oz water and 2 oz orange juice for taste killing properties. ;)

Taken during my period it about cuts my heavy (and I mean HEAVY) bleeding in HALF. I am not even kidding. If it is mind over matter, that is one hell of a suceptable mind I have. lol.

I am writing to say that if you seem to not tolerate the ACV - as not everyone does for some reason - I would suggest you start taking 1 tablespoon of (UNSULPHERED) Blackstrap Molassas every day. I take mine in my coffee. Since I started taking it daily I have backed off of the ACV daily - as it has made me feel darned, darned GOOD, and also seems to have taken away the heavy bleeding as well. It is full of minerals and it is amazing stuff. Lots to read about the benefits of BSM here on Earth Clinic and on the web re menstrual issues!

I buy mine on the baking isle at the grocery store. At first I wasn't terribly fond of the flavor, but now my coffee just wouldn't taste right without it!

Best wishes of good health to you - I feel for you. ~Carly

In my own research for this problem or cysts I have used ACV now as a regular part of my life. (btw put it straight on a bu bite and itch/swelling gone w/in minutes). Aloe Vera Juice is also a regular in my regimin. People, just add a few drops of stevia to either for better taste or a juice like Cran/Rasberry something non citrus.

I have read that Myrrh has been used for years with female issues successfully and helps colds etc. Just google 'Myrrh fibroids'. I also read many testamonies about a product online Fibrovan which the main ingredient is Nannokinasse (great for the heart too).

Biggest issue with Fibroids is associated with Stress, Fear, Unforgiveness. I'm a Chiristian so I use the Bible and prayer for the above. My life recently had a series of stresses that I know are the root of my issue. We must deal with the root causes for complete healing. I read about a woman who fought w/ her ex constantly, then left for an extended vacation in another country (6 months I think), she went to the Dr and her Fibroids were gone, she returned to the USA and more fighting with her ex and the fibroids returned.

I learned about Myrrh benefits and others at Yellow Dock is also beneficial according to Dr Christopher's experience. Just do a search there for Fibroid. Cleanse your body and start with your colon first since everything is eliminated through it. I've also read good things on using progesterone (look for pure as some creams have parabens) Eliminate all Paraben creams/cleansers from your life. (see dr john lee's books/website). There is another website that shares about cleansing the reproductive organs and has kits available at even if you are not trying to get pregnant they have great products to keep your organs healthy.

Hope this helps and blesses someone! Be Well!!

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  I have tried to submit this a couple of times. I'm not sure if I have been successful or not. Will try one more time. I don't as a rule respond to online testimonials. However, I am very aware that the ACV I have been consuming the past couple months is worthy of a serious mention here. I suffer with uterine fibroids. And at 46 yrs old, the doctor wanted to apply watchful waiting to see if they would start to shrink once menopause hit me. My mom didn't go into menopause til her mid 50's so I was not about to wait that long for relief. Besides, the pain, flooding, fatigue, clots and not being able to leave my toilet has been getting progressively worse over the past couple years. I'm a lead singer in a rock band and I can recall recent gigs that I did where I was bleeding so heavy, I had to wear a flippin bladder pad (and black clothes) to simply get through an hrs worth of performing before our set break when I could run to the can and fix things up for another hour. Very embarrasing. But there have been even more embarrasing moments let me tell you. (sad face)

I first read about apple cider vinegar on this site, and if it weren't for the many many believable testimonials, I probably would have laughed it off. But after taking this miracle juice for the past 2 months. I feel I really have to contribute my story. I always believed most testimonials were crap that were written by fakers trying to sell their product. However, there is nothing anyone can gain here except relief from the shared knowledge. So I am happy to add my story. Hope it helps one or more of you.

My fibroids which the doc claimed were few and very small (and shouldn't be causing me any distress) made my life a living hell. Periods were 5 to 7 days of gushing blood and clots. Clots so big I swore I was miscarrying. I had many days each month where I sat on the toilet with my laptop. Afraid to even get up. If I did, I gave birth to another huge painful to pass clot. My breasts were always sore a week before my period, during and sometimes after for a couple days. I blew threw maxi pads in less than an hr, and the pain and fatigue was terrible. Sex and penetration was also becoming very painful. I started taking regular Heinz store brand ACV 2 months ago. I will go to the health food store and pick up some higher end stuff now that I know it works well for me.

The first thing I noticed on month 1 was zero PMS, my period literally snuck up on me. No breast swelling or tenderness the whole period. Wha? I'll take it! Period was what I would deem as normal. It has been so many years since having a normal period, I almost didn't recognize it. I passed 1 small clot and barely even noticed. Period slowed by day 4 and by then I was no longer wearing any sanitary protection. Wow... Just Wow! Pain was manageable. Still took a couple advil once or twice during the heavier period days. But used to take 10 advil a day for 7 days. What a difference! The biggest shock was the absence of the gushing. Sorry TMI but no way to really explain this properly without being frank. Seriously... Gushing was gone. Clotting all but gone. That cycle, I did a stage show with my band and wore a WHITE dress. Haha never would have been that brave before. Waited another month to see if I was just as fortunate before posting my findings here. Happy Happy happy to report that I just finished another period that was as easy and managable as last months. Oh happy day! Again one very small clot. No gushing. I am taking 2 tbsp of ACV twice a day in a bottle of water which I drink down fast a few mins before meals. I was also surprised and thrilled to note that the last 20 lbs that I have been struggling to lose (I am a zero to low carber) have been coming off since taking ACV. Seems as if water weight is the first to go. I'll take that thank you very much!! Lol

I don't know if the ACV is shrinking my fibroids so soon. I hope it is. And will ask for an ultrasound sometime this next year to see whats happening with them. But what I do know for sure. Is the pain, distress, and emotional upheaval I experienced with each and every period for the past 7 years is now all but gone away. I would have tried the Black strap molasses, but when I read the carton how many carbs and calories are in there... Ummm nope, not for this kid!

I hope someone out there who is a skeptic like me, reads this, and gives it a whirl. What do you have to lose anyway? I was slowly losing my mind and my sex life before this. Should mention that the pain from sex hasn't yet gone away, but it is less noticeable. I suspect the fibroids are pressing on my cervix, bladder and intestines. Thanks for reading my lil story. Sammy

I was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid the size of a plum about a month ago. I started with Blackstrap Molasses and Apple Cider Vinegar (2 tbsp twice a day) about 3 weeks ago. Plus, I included some herbs that are good for softening fibrous tissue and scar tissue (Arnica), Lugol's Iodine and Milk Thistle for my liver which is supposed to have been impacted somehow (not really surehow, just thought it would be good to add this). I also use Vitamin E, digestive enzymes (which is supposed to break up the tough fibrin outer layer of the fibroid). The Lugol's Iodine is supposed to be good for fibrocystic breast disease (of which I have been diagnosed and had 3 lumps removed over the years) and ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids as well.

I should mention that within a week after I started the ACV and BSM (I also used 1 tsp of baking soda with this which essentially detoxed the hell out of me! Did that the first week and then ran out of baking soda so I just continued with the ACV and BSM), then got my period. I was pleasantly surprised when my period came w/o the usual extremely tender breasts, pre-cramping and first two heavy days of bleeding. In fact, during the whole cycle, I probably used maybe 7 pads and 5 or 6 tampons, this includes nights which were more problematic and nerve-wracking. My energy level is up, and in a related development, my seasonal allergies are even gone! Amazing!

As you can see, I've been doing a lot and just a few days ago started having some steadily increasing spotting. It's not time for my period again yet so I don't think that's what's happening. I'm hoping that this is a result of the fibroid breaking up and coming out of me??? I don't know but I wanted to see if anyone else had similar experiences. I hope that some of you had success with your situations. I have an ultrasound scheduled for October 31 so I'm trying to hang in there until I get results. Hopefully they'll say the fibroid has either shrunk significantly or it's just gone. Praying for the latter! The last time I had a fibroid was 2 years ago and I had a Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE), not a bad procedure, just don't want to have to do it again b/c it left me with medical bills even though I have insurance. I will post the results of my ultrasound in a couple weeks and hopefully good news too!

Hello, I'm doing practically the same thing than you with small variations; I got a fibroid of about 10cmx8cm. It's really big and scared me a lot. My doctor said that was the size of a newborn's head.

I have no kids and I'd really like to have at least one. I'm trying the natural option first if no signs of shrinking are showed I will go for the surgery.

I started with the ACV and BSM like 5 months ago, and I don't really know if my fibroid has shrunk but for sure my symptoms now are less notorious. My sexual life improved a lot, before was very painful and I didn't enjoy being with my husband because of the pain. Since I started with the treatment I have no more pain.

My belly was hard like a rock but now little by little you can notice how is getting softer and I can bottom my jeans without worrying about the pain.

I will have to visit my doctor to check how my fibroid is going, but I thing is too early to notice significant changes. I will continue with the treatment for another 2 months before going for a check out.

My treatment includes:

*ACV (morning), BSM (morning), TRIVINOL (has a complete supplement of enzymes, Amanu & Llanten (once a day), Magnesium (to eliminate the calcium in the fibroid), Vitamin E, ACV Tablets (afternoon), BSM Tablets (afternoon).

Dear Fibroid Sisters:
Please email me soon, as I am in desperate times with my doctor. She is wanting me to do surgery since my fibroid has grown fm 9cm to 13 cm in the past couple years. Please eamil if your fibroid is at 9cm or bigger and you had good results w/proof that you did go to get an mri done and your fibroid has shrunk after taking ACV with any other stuffs. Or if you done something else naturally to shrink your fibroids. Please email me at

What size was your fibroid before it shrunk? What size it is now? how long did it take to shrink to the size it is? What are you eating? Is it all organic foods?

HOW ABOUT PLASTICS? Anyone can email me on this subject as well. I know I keep hearing and seeing to not use plastic. That would be crazy.... Everything is in plastic. Meats wrapped in plastic. Fruits and produce wrapped in plastic. I have plastic food containers I used all my life.... So I have to go and get all GLASSWARE to store all foods now? I even email Zephyrhills water and they said the plastic bottle they use are safe to drink from. Its just so much info to take in and so much plastic around us. Creams. Lotions are in plastic. The dish holder is plastic where I put my dishes after washing them. The shampoo bottles are plastic.... So even the organic products are in plastic containers.... So I don't know what it means to NOT USE PLASTIC?

I know not to microwave my foods in plastic for sure. I try to drink out of glass. Email me if you have answers on PLASTIC usage. But mainly.... Please email me on uterine fibroids. Let me know how you shrunk yours. I so appreciate your time and I can't express how upset/depressed it has caused me on this subject. Please help. Email me at
Thank you so much, Maylin

[YEA]  I suffered from VERY heavy bleeding and was diagnosed with uterine polyps and possible fibroids. First was told hysterectomy; I didn't want this so I was prescribed a hormone; made the cramping, etc., WORSE; a year later I had more tests - same problem, heavy bleeding & cramping - the tests (such as saline ultrasound) were so UNCOMFORTABLE and no relief, still recommended surgery which I really didn't feel comfortable about. I searched "natural remedies for fibroids, heavy bleeding, etc." and found this site. Tried ACV and black strap molasses first (1 dose of the molasses-could NOT handle that!); then tried the ACV with baking soda (2 TBSP natural ACV from health food store and 1/2 to 1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 8 oz water once daily has worked for me). I started this in August; it is now November and I feel SO MUCH BETTER! It is unbelievable - very little bleeding at regular cycle time - little to no cramping; and I was in misery before-periods lasted for weeks and would only stop for a few days and then start again. I no longer have that problem-haven't since I started the ACV & baking soda in August. It WORKS!

[YEA]   I started taking ACV about a month ago for fibroid relief and I noticed a significant, positive change in my heavy flow and cramping. For the last year or so, I would have to remain inside and well medicated for the first few days of my cycle. I even had a recent, 3-day hospital stay in October for severe anemia, due to blood loss and received a blood transfusion during that time. It was a scary ordeal. In November, after trying ACV, I noticed my cramping had subsided and my flow was lighter. The first two days were still a little heavy, but I could visit my family during Thanksgiving and enjoy the holidays without any "accidents". I'm still taking it and can't wait to see how this month goes!

Thanks everyone for great input regarding Fibroids. Since most of us are in the dark & trying to avoid surgeries with massive fibroids [10cm ].. I have a SERIOUS PLEA for every woman posting here. It's great to hear that your "symptoms" have eased up a bit or a lot BUT what would really be helpful to all of us here would be an organized & measured report of your progress, starting with:

1. The size of your [biggest] Fibroid initially

2. Remedies you followed with measurements

3. Proof of "size reduction" with the latest size from your latest ultrasound > for this you may have to REVISIT the site and update us. Please take a bit of pain so the rest of us can have a calming assurance that Yes.. Indeed.. the SIZE CAN SHRINK TOO ..

1. After consulting numerous doctors, a few surprised me with the fact that the menstrual pain/cramps are actually due to Anemia & prolonged blood depletion instead of the Fibroids themselves. So don't just treat your Fibroids, but also take Iron Supplements such as pills and spirulina powder [mixed in carrot or apple juice]. Do not just depend on BSM if you have severe Anemia, get your #s checked. It turns out, the more anemic you are, the more you will bleed. YIIKEESS!!! Its a cycle. My fibroid is still there.. but I've seen the miracle of treating Anemia with 90% pain reduction! And reduced bleeding as well! It will take you 1 or 2 months to see dramatic results! :) Just STICK to the regimen.

2. Many women here have complained of constipation etc due to IRON pills. Did you know that there are Iron pills in health food stores that are made of whole foods & are vegetarian and hence more absorbable and not upsetting your stomach at all! Try them before giving up. But add some spirulina or BSM to this. If you are severely anemic, take 2 to 3 pills a day for a few months. Then taper down to 1, for maintenance. Do get blood work done to see your requirements.

3. Many women here have also complained of ACV's taste and I had the same issue. But reading its wonders, I had to come up with a way, and I did! Its the most delicious concoction/cocktail ever. Instead of taking ACV straight or mixing it up in water, I am mixing 2tbs in Lychee Juice with 1/4 tsp Baking Soda. You can use apple juice or use any sweet juice to counter it's sourness. You will be addicted to this delicious drink.

4. Rinse your mouth right after as ACV could be bad for teeth enamel.

5. Other women have complained of BSM's strong taste. The best way to take it is to add it to some hot water and enjoy it like tea. Others here have drizzled it on ice cream too! So don't give up. Be creative. Don't mix it up with your coffee or tea as Caffeine tends to feed fibroids! That's what I've heard.

6. Additionally, you could take DIM supplment to balance fibroid-causing Estrogen

Again .. I wonder if one should just sit back & relax just because the symptoms have disappeared. Your fibroid could still be there or growing! So do go for a 2nd scan and definitely report your findings here specially the SIZE-CHANGES or Shrinkage! This is the only site where we can truly trust the testimonials. So please ladies, keep us updated with your measurements! Don't abandon us once your symptoms subside. Keep us posted. THANKS - poetess

Hello, I am so glad I found this forum!

i am due to have a massive exploratory abdominal laporotomy in the next few weeks which may end up in a hysterectomy which I am trying to avoid.

i just got married in may and have never had children. I am an older bride, but I still want to try for a family if at all possible.

my chances of coming out with my uterus after surgery are next to nothing, so I am anxious to try any means to keep my fertility intact.

1. I have 3 to 4 fibroids, the largest is 30 cm and my belly is swollen[watermelon size]

and the others ares softball to melon size.

2. I am beginning a regime of the Apple Cider Vinegar baking soda. Going to try aas many times a day as I can

with 2 times a day being my standard time

3. I will keep you posted on if there are any changes.

i also did an olive oil and pineapple cleanse last night, and that really wiped my insides out.

feel free to give me any specific advice or recipes. Thank you!!

Today my period started and over 7hours and still haven't change a pad... Just spotting. Hoping this will continue. Would like some feedback on possible shrinkage or fibroids be gone.

Thanks Saphire.
