REMEDY FOR SAGGING JOWLS?
09/07/2008: Mary from L.A. , California writes: "Does anyone have a remedy for sagging jowls?"
08/09/2009: Teresa from Morristown, Tn replies: "For the sagging jowls, stick your bottom jaw out and mimic chewing (with your teeth up over your top lip) in an exaggerated fashion. Do this alone as you will look like a cartoon bulldog, but you will certainly feel this exercise in your jowls. It helps with a wrinkly neck a little too. Also, I read in an acupressure book to
to lightly pinch around the jaw bone from earlobe to earlobe for seven to ten seconds per night."

CHEMISTRY OF RHODIOLA AND VITAMIN E?
12/10/2006: Elice from Washington writes: "Do you know how the Rhodiola and vitamin E work to help make the skin look better? (I'm wondering about the chemistry behind this combination) Thanks!"
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Elice: Rhodiola is a herb found in northern arctic region with many essential oils that might be responsible. However, I think the main components is likely to be the geraniol content which is also found in geranium too. Both are considered to be adaptogens, but in science we think it causes the body to maintain homeostasis better, and therefore it is especially helpful during stress and fatigue. Therefore lower stress plus antioxidant power of vitamin E causes the skin condition to improve. It is the same as getting plenty of rest and a good sleep and vitamin E will also improve the skin condition. I think any adaptogens make and ideal nutrition for the body to maintain homeostasis and this I think is what is responsible for longevity in people."
