COULD THIS BE A SPINAL VIRUS MIMICKING RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS?
01/19/2012: Shannon from Collinsville, Ok: "Two weeks after having my fourth child I started having back and chest pain. This was a repeat c section and they did a spinal block. It then radiated down my arms. Then to my legs and head. I have major joint pain and muscle pain / weakness. I have been to my doctor for blood tests and every other test imaginable it seems. The only oddity was an elevated sed rate of 30. The pain is consistant in back but alternates from upper to lower body.
Also I have an achy flulike feeling all the time. I am 36, 5' 4" 145 pounds. In the past I have had 3 heart ablations. I am currently going to a rheumatologist which has put me on predinsone and loritabs awaiting the 3 months to know whether it is rhematoid arthritis. The pain has been going on for 8 weeks now. This never presented with any of my other 3 children. I am not a smoker or drinker. Could I have a spinal virus that mimics RA? Please help, thank you."
03/21/2012: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Yes, it is possible that's why when you have the flu, you also have back pain and with other viruses. But you can try a simple remedy of DMSO mixed with castor oil 20% and apply to the back. This will help. The other formula is MSM 30% with DMSO 70% with lavender oil to help reduce irritation in both formulas and apply. This will quickly help the condition in a couple of minutes.Ted"

ALKALIZING OPTIONS FOR RA
10/16/2011: Anonymous from Anonymous: "I am 43 years old and diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis about 8 months ago. I am taking Sulfasalazine which is no longer controlling the flares and my doctor wants to put me on methotrexate. I just started an elimination diet a few days ago as I want to see what is bothering my body. I also have Psoriasis and it seems that whatever bothers that is causing my RA to get worse. I have read many posts on alkalizing but am confused as to what to take. Am I supposed to be doing both ACV and Lemon juice with baking soda? On one of your posts you said you would do the lemon juice and baking soda but also do the ACV with baking soda twice a week. I tried the ACV with baking soda this AM and it made me feel sick for awhile. Is this normal? Also do I try the lugol's and the borax as well. I am desperate to stay off the meds so if you could give me any advice I'd sure appreciate it. Also should I stop the meds right now or wait until I see improvement from diet etc? Thanks."
11/02/2011: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Well, my favorite alkaline remedy is baking soda and lime juice. That's 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda plus whole lime, squeezed into a cup of water. It will be effervescent and is basically better tasting and given after meals twice a day, which is the minimum. The alkalizing remedy will help reduce flareup.I believe much of the rheumatoid arthritis is due to a deficiency of amino acid of two kinds, the lysine and the histidine. Lysine is taken 1/2 teaspoon 4 times a day with histidine 1/8 teaspoon 3 or 4 times a day. It takes awhile to have some effect but should be felt improvement before the week is up and it should get better. The other is sulfur such as MSM, this kills the fungus that is causing the RA. MSM is often taken 1000 mg x 4 times a day at least. Again it takes a week to a month depending on the severity and the dose. You can increase the dose if you don't have problems. It is also a vitamin D3 and magnesium deficiency, so magnesium citrate 250 x 2 and perhaps Vitamin D3 5000 to 10000 i.u. for an entire month.
As to topical application, it is DMSO plus castor oil 50/50. This will help it get directly to the area within minutes. Ideally it is applied 3 to 6 times a day to the rash or rheumatoid area.
It also helps if 1/8 or 1/4 teaspoon of borax is mixed in one liter of drinking water to reduce rheumatoid arthritis and the rash. It is used to get rid of rashes by using a borax bath (with maybe 1% H2o2) if you can afford it.

TED'S REMEDIES FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
07/17/2011: Anonymous from Anonymous: "I have severe RA, lupus, fibromyalsia and due to the meds I now have necro scleritis (both eyes are affected). my questions is, can I still try most of the remedies without doing any harm to my eyes? the pain I have is excrutiating and have me disabled most of the time. I am 54yrs and have had RA for the past 20 yrs, but only in the past two years it has gotten out of control when I got cut and ended up with a strep infection in the blood system.
What is your recommendation on what I can take?"
08/17/2011: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "I would just try something simple first, H2O2 3% one capful in one liter of water as my drinking water, and perhaps add borax 1/4 teaspoon too. The lysine is taken hourly four a day witn one more dose before sleep to help with the deficiencies. This should adquately address the lupus and fibromyalgia. This should not do harm to the eyes as it gives oxygenation. For pain. I will try allopurinol 100 mg before sleep and in morning, the supplement somehow has a positive reduction in some of the pain, but not by mechanism of uric acid.Ted"

REACTIVE ENTHESITIS
07/29/2008: Kevin from Harare, Zimbabwe: "Ted, A buddy of mine has been diagnosed with REACTIVE ENTHESITIS and has been told there is no cure! Can you assist with a natural remedy. Thanks Kevin"
07/30/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To Kevin with friend who has reactive enthesitis: Hi kevin; I'm not Ted but I have found a couple of thing that are natural and effective for arthritis or joint pain. The first thing is MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) and the second one is just now forming berries in this area and that is poke weed (also known as poke sallet). Just gather the ripe berries and start taking them at 15-20 berries 4 times per day. They can also be dehydrated or frozen for using for longer period. I started with small number of berries 4 times a day & kept increasing the number of berries each time until I was taking 30 - 25 berries 4 times a day (just put them in your mouth and wash them down with water). I am also seeing a lot of recommendation on-line that good old cod liver oil is still very effective for the pain and for reversing damage. I don't think any problems would be encountered by using all three at once."

CORRECT DOSAGE OF BORAX
03/13/2008: Eileen : "Hi Ted, I have been using 1/8 teaspoon of borax in one liter of water for two to three days a week. I read an article on the Arthritis Foundation web site by a Dr. Rex Newnham that recommends using 3 mg of a Boron supplement in the form of sodium borate to cure arthritis. He cured himself and says that this works quickly within one to three months depending on the condition. My question is trying to determine 3 mg. to 1/8 teaspoon. I prefer the borax water solution but wondered how the amount can be compared? Could I continue as I am but use for six days a week? Is there a reason you prefer we use for two or three days? Thank you. Eileen"
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Rheumatoid arthritis relates more to the immune system and mycobacterium issues (fungus) as the major problem, with possible problems of the cartilage due to a staph like bacteria. Therefore a borax amount of 3 mg is too small to work and boron alone may not work. That's the basic problem. The reason why I know is that a lot of person who actually was helped with rheumatoid arthritis used remedies that are closer to 30-80 mg. There is still a problem here. The problem is that borax has limited solubility when taken in tablet form. A 3 mg is equivalent to about .0006 teaspoon (1 teaspoon = 5 mL = 5000 milligrams and 3/5000 mg equals .0006 teaspoon) which is more or less' 6/10000th (6 divided by 10000 equals .0006) of a teaspoon which is too little to have an effect for most problematic rheumatoid arthritis. Israel has one of the lowest arthritis and their drinking water I estimated to be twice that which is roughly 5 mg per liter of water (this is very old information so data do change and sampling of water is not accurate) and that's for people who drank that water all their life. However, an effective dose needed to kill the fungus which caused the arthritis in the first place needs a much higher dose as mentioned. If Dr. Rex is to be followed, then it is best to obtain a commercial borax supplement or an ordinary vitamin supplements which some has already have a much closer figure to that anyway. Rheumatoid Arthritis is more difficult then meets the eye, vitamin K2 100-200 mcg, vitamin D3 usually closer to 10,000 i.u, alkalizing, using baking soda remedies, such as 1/2 teaspoon in 1/2 glass of water, taken twice a day, and a d-mannose of 500 mg a day, or a 1/8 teaspoon of xylitol added to the drinking water that has the borax, plus 250-500 mg of magnesium citrate actually works the best. An additional 10 drops - 30 drops of 3% H2O2 into that drinking water further helps. I don't believe that a single borax will help because it is the mycobacterium and the staph like bacterium that exists which causes rheumatoid arthritis (that an the autoimmunity thing) and to use a single nutrients is hardly effective and that's just from my own experience with many people. The immunity issue is related and iodine from kelp should also be occasional considered such as twice a week supplements. Rheumatoid arthritis don't happen for no reason, it happens because the body's immune system are down as we get older, opportunist pathogens sets in and the vitamin D levels of a 60 year is about 1/10 of a 6 year old child that being said, it is not unusual that the arthritis occur because the bone formation is impaired from lifelong acid blood that degrades the bone condition. Rheumatoid arthritis is an interesting one, joints get larger than usual and cannot bend. I once remember one person who took borax/magnesium/baking soda/xylitol regularly and within a couple of weeks told me she can now move her fingers, but as a side note, the enlarge joints reduced to almost the normal size. I told her that the enlarge joints happens just like an elephant man or a person with a fungus like bacteria that exists near the joint and if the supplements that increases immunity, reduces the fungus, and prevent fungus from forming colonies (through polyol sugar to prevent fungus from attaching to the bones), plus protection against ligaments and cartilage with magnesium, it should be normalized within no time. The older a person is the more complicated and comprehensive are the remedies and the ones I listed here are the supplements for the worse case scenario for an 70+ year old person (more like 80). For me, who is about 49 years old and have some arthritis on my knee, which is a minor condition, it goes away in 1-3 days on just drinking the 1/4 teaspoon (men's dose that I have found to be most effective) and it goes away. So I need not take them everyday only take it for just 1-3 days were more than sufficient. If the muscle and pain is there then I might take some magnesium 250-500 mg, but interestingly I don't need to take magnesium beyond 3 days either. That's because I know my condition early on, before it has a chance to do major damage. I also alkalize most of the days (except if I am too busy answering emails), and it should also be noted that it's not just the iodine that helps immunity (against fungus caused arthritis), it is also the vitamin D3, magnesium and vitamin K2 that is also important. Regeneration may be needed and some aloe vera juice is also taken once a day. It is high in allantoin, which is well known in the use of comfrey too whenever bones are broken so in case of arthritis, may help their repairs. So maybe my remedy is too comprehensive, but that's the only way I can get success. And perhaps Dr. Rex know something I don't, but what I do know definitely that 3 mg never worked with me and a lot of people here also and the ones I do witness is in their 70s, 80s and 90s. I am just the youngest of the bunch, and still the 3-10 mg range doesn't work within a month, but perhaps if I just wait for 3 months it just might work and Dr. Rex could be right. But why do I need to wait when I can take 1/4 teaspoon of borax in one liter of drinking water and it will go away in a maximum 3 days anyway, and that's the worse of my arthritis. Usually it goes away the next day. Many experts on alternative medicine people I know (I must be unlucky) concentrates on just only a single supplements such as magnesium (Australia Unique water, using magnesium bicarbonate), one used borax, another used hydrogen peroxide, and yet another used colloidal silver, and I can name a long list of other people who use it. For me it takes a such a long time to heal after reading through some patent applications of the treatment. But based on my own experiments many of them have limited success. Although B complex addition helps with arthritis too, in helping the circulation of extremities and hence an occasional vitamin B complex is essentially helpful. I try to leave no stones unturned, and yet I strive to find the best optimum dose needed to reduce the problem in the shortest possible period, without the side effects. It's no easy task for me and perhaps I am missing some other information not discussed here, such as silicon supplements. The silicon supplement I used are sodium silicate solution, which I can also add, but while they do work quite well if the person can't walk at all, I am conducting trials on that whether it does work well too. Silicon, magnesium, phosphate, calcium, and proline are vital to bones normal growth and nutrition. Phosphate is rarely a problem because of the meat diet. Magnesium is a problem because it is lacking in many diets, proline are the protein matrix necessary to hold the bones together, but calcium in our diets are too excess and acid forming foods cause calcium leeching which kills off the tissue. So I can make a long discussion on the whys, nows and other things regarding arthritis, but all in all, alkalizing, boron, magnesium, vitamin C (collagen synthesis), vitamin D, and vitamin K are important ones. I am not recommending anything here, I am simply telling what I do and my own personal experience and experiments. It's not a perfect experience mind you, but then people don't usually tell me unless I go badger them and that's the only info I have. I am still trying to perfect rheumatoid arthritis remedy and this is the best I can do...so far..perhaps someday..there may even be a cure..for people who are in their 70s, 80s or 90s, but they seemed to be happy. There is one side note that's worth mentioning from some of my recent experiments. Cat's purr, and using a low amplitude vibrator (low repercussion) at 20 Hz - 40 Hz (closer to 22-25 Hz) works in further helping stubborn rheumatoid arthritis area, when it is applied to that area. Most vibrators are too strong on the amplitude so a low setting should help. A cat doesn't have arthritis because it purrs and this purring frequency is what makes the cat recover so fast and their bones heal fast even after a 3 to 4 stories jump from a building. Cats as a species know something we don't and there is a research study on cat's purr too at this link: http://www.animalvoice.com/catpurrP.htm"
04/08/2011: Lorraine from San Francisco, California replies: "Once the RA is cured, do you have to take the Borax for the rest of your life?"
05/28/2011: Tina from Sylvania, Ohio, Usa replies: "Hi Ted. I cannot afford to buy get so much Vitamin D but have been reading about how black pepper can increase vit. Bioavailability. I'm wondering if you would know if just taking a dose of 2,000 vit. D with maybe a 1/2 t. of ground black pepper will work to increase bioavailability sufficiently. Thanks, Tina."
12/22/2011: Art from Tustin, California Usa replies: "Tina, According to the following abstract, just making sure to take vitamin D with your largest meal of the day may increase your serum 25 OH D level by as much as 50%. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20200983The 25 OH D level is a standard measure for testing vitamin d sufficiency or insufficiency.

ANOREXIA CAUSED MANY PROBLEMS
11/22/2007: L from Scotland: "Hi I have recently come across your site and think that it's great. I have a multitude of problems which all stem from years of anorexia and I was wondering if you could give me some information on how best to take things forward. Firstly, I suffered from eating disorders for about 8 years. In the last 2 years I have been gradually overcoming all of the psychological problems associated and begun to introduce more foods into my diet. However, I had a lot of set backs as each time I began to eat new things that I had previously restricted I became really ill. It started with severe joint pains which they diagnosed as RA - however I now realize that this is probably due to poor digestion resulting in toxin release - everyone thought that it was my anorexia that caused me to blame food for the pain which drove me insane as I desperately wanted to eat more but the pain caused was just too much! As a result of the pain, I was a serial Ibuprofen taker - taking 3x400mg daily on regular occasions over a long period of time. I also suffer from really bad acid reflux and mucus production - which generally leads to lots of colds and flus etc! I know that my digestion is pretty crap as often when I go to the toilet, there are still reminents of what I have eaten in amongst it! I started oil pulling with half and half coconut oil and sunflower oil 4 days ago. Instantly I can feel the mucus running down the back of my throat. I also started ACV, Bicarb Soda and Honey at the same time. For the first few days I did feel more energetic and brighter, my hair and teeth felt better and I slept a lot deeper than before. After 1 day I had the recurrence of a pain in the junction between my calf and my Achilles tendon - this is a problem I suffered 2 years ago which caused agonizing pain when I ran and despite scans, x-rays etc no one was ever able to diagnose what it was. Interestingly, this is the area where 3 years ago I had cortisone injection into this area for tendonitis. I also felt joint aches - not as bad as they can get but a general aching and my right index finger, which is always my worst joint, was very swollen. This has started to subside thought the calf pain is still present. Last night I tried peppermint oil in water and drops of H2O2 in water to try and alleviate the symptoms. However instantly after doing this gum/tooth pain which has a tendancy to flare up every now and then really flared up and started to ache. Also, this morning I have a horrible fullness in my head especially in my ears and across the front of my head and I feel as if my ear canals are hot. I tried H2O2 drops in my ears but that did not relieve them. This is a feeling I had early this year when I had a full blown sinus infection. Also last night just after taking the H2O2 I could feel that my heart was beating a lot faster than normal! So my questions are - How can I improve my digestion - Is the return of the calf pain related to the pulling and also related to the cortisone? Is this a Metal??- How can I stop all this mucus- What is causing my head fullness? Am I allergic to H2O2? Thanks in advance. I really want to continue on the path to good heal the natural way and avoid all the medicational crap I am prescribed where possible. Thanks again"
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear L: Thank you for your detailed symptoms as this is really helpful in my finding an appropriate remedy. Frequently people now have multiple diseases and it is the symptoms that give me the clue.On of the reason why a remedy doesn't work is that people who write me with their sickness only tell me just one sickness and ignored the rest, which prevents me from recommending a proper remedy. The other problem is not following directions and taking too much of it or taking something completely different, such as baking powder instead of the correct baking soda. A person with a fungus ringworm condition having a herpes not mentioned would go astray with the remedy since you need to deal with the viral problems first and the fungus condition goes away. This is why all symptoms needs to be mentioned!
A common anorexic, rheumatoid arthritis and calf pain does give me a lot of clues as to the cause. A baking soda, while it does provide the body with increase energy from oxygen and immunity, however, the rejection of H2O2 by you provides certain clues into the body's biochemical problems. But this does indicate many nutritional deficiencies and I will go one by one.
The most likely problem of pain from using H2O2, means that the body's natural antioxidant levels are low. A common one is the sodium ascorbate vitamin C and sometimes Ester C vitamin C (oil soluble vitamin C). It should be noted that ascorbic acid vitamin C is a prooxidant and this is not helpful. If it is possible to acquire vitamin C sodium ascorbate this would be most helpful as it is an alkaline form of vitamin C.
The anorexic condition is an interesting point, as this indicates a couple of vitamin B complex deficiencies, such as B12, B3, B6 and B1. B12 is primarily importances as it also helps absorption and utilization of the other vitamins. A B6 and magnesium is synergistic too. Ideally B50 or B100 (vitamin Bs where most of the vitamin B are 50 mg each in a B50, or where in B100 most vitamin Bs are 100 mg each with certain exceptions of B12 which are more likely to be 100 mcg). Cooking and a bad digesting system will might lead to a vitamin B deficiency.
Actually, most water soluble vitamins including B and C can lead to a deficiency fairly quick if the foods lacking b complex occurs for months at a time, leading up to anorexic condition, which will further the problem.
I also need to take frequent vitamin B supplement at least once a week. However, if a deficiency is suspected I may take it ONCE EVERY OTHER DAY of vitamin B in the middle of the day, with a baking soda and lime remedy as lime is higher in vitamin C content than an apple cider vinegar remedy.
The remedy for a lime, is one whole freshly squeezed lime, which equals to two tablespoons of lime, plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water (at least) taken twice a day, once in the morning and once before bedtime. If some sleepiness is indicated, than the re-scheduling of the dose can be taken in the early evening and before sleep.
Taking both the vitamin C sodium ascorbate 250-500 mg/day for only 4 or 5 days out of a week, plus baking soda & lime in 5 days out of a week should be more than sufficient for the body to handle the oxidative oxygen you breathe and can minimize any effect of H2O2 use.
A weekly vitamin E and ester C vitamin C, both oil soluble or fat soluble antioxidant is helpful, usually 200 i.u and 500 mg of ester C only once a week might be sufficient. In somce cases of long term, some monthly or twice monthly vitamin K (or preferably K2) is also needed as bleeding gums may potentially be one of the problems of gum pain and H2O2 that bought about that condition.
As to the calf pain, taking pain killers is not the answer, neither is joint pain injecting with some cortiosol. If we look at the cause, a very common calf pain, and I once have calf pain since I was a child, but I did learn what was causing it through trial and error, whien I was a child. It turns out to be magnesium. A muscle, if it can't relax and contracts all the time, can lead to muscular pain and magnesium is very helpful. If I have calf pain along with lack of energy in the morning (lack of vitamin b6 is indicated here too) I will take 500 mg of magnesium citrate (or magnesium acetate or magnesium chloride) a day for 5 days out of a week for a couple of weeks. Actually most muscular pain will go away by the third day even if I had some sort of accident that resulted in muscle pain. The fastest pain reduction noticed after taking magnesium is within hours of taking it. It should be noted that frequently supplements company put so much fillers that the body can't absorbed them. Hence I may either chew the tablets, or powdered it using a pestle and molar and then dissolved them in a drinking glass of water.
The joint pain will respond quite well, with the magnesium supplement and pain reduction should be noted, but a boron supplements is also helpful too such as a pinch (1/16 teaspoon of borax or about 50 mg of borax) taken for only 3 or 4 days then stop. Certain bacterium and fungus are responsible and that's how I know what remedies to use. A creaky joints may be reduced with glucosamine sulfate 500 mg, but pain reduction is not much from this supplement but will help out quite, initially. The other coin to treating Rheumatoid arthritis is taking plenty of MSM (methyl sulfonyl methane) but 250-500 mg is needed. James Coburn, a famous actor was cured of his arthritis after years of pain just by taking MSM. The secret is that the MSM is antifungal, and it killed the mycobacterium that is partially responsible for the arthritis. Of course he would have gone into "remission" a lot faster with the magnesium and the boron (from the borax). In my case, just taking the boron (from borax) 1/4 teaspoon dissolved in one liter of water for only a couple of days were more than enough for me. In case none of the magnesium, MSM are not working as expected, a boron will almost certainly work. And if the condition is more severe, than a cod liver oil which has vitamin D is helpful, one tablespoon, but amazingly a vitamin K2 is also antifungal and helpful with Rheumatoid arthritis too. But I would prefer to keep things simple and go for magnesium first and the vitamin Bs. Whenever the body is afflicted multiple nutritional imbalance is indicated.
There are more deficiencies, but these ones are minor such as zinc, potassium and phosphorous, but those don't tend to happen often and is for people who gets cold frequently and anorexic (a zinc deficiency), or is having heart problems and tired, with anorexic (a lack of potassium and phosphorus). Too much zinc can lead to vomiting, too little may cause loss in appetite or anorexic just the same.
One recent supernutrition(more nutrition dense than bee pollen) I have found is to take one to two tablespoon of chinese wolfberries. Some can be soft, some hard depending on the sellers and have many complete amino acids, vitamins and minerals, raising the body's immune system so that certain RA or loss of appetite and increase in energy is noted too.
It's difficult to cover all the aspect anorexic and RA, but most of these remedies I think should be most helpful. "
