I have just completed my first 3 weeks on borax. What an amazing supplement. I started with the 2 mg solution (1 teaspoon of borax in a liter of water). The first day I took just 1 teaspoon of the solution. I felt a slight sinus pressure in my forehead within 10 minutes of drinking the solution. It was very distinct but not uncomfortable. I also felt emotional the rest of the day! I am in my early 40s by the way.

I kept it up, 2nd day I took a teaspoon in the morning and a teaspoon at night. Same thing, more emotional than usual, pressure in my forehead. But the 2nd day is when the amazing things started to happen. My dreams became more vivid and my sleep more restful. I had a GIANT increase in energy. My joint felt less creaky and achey. I kept up the borax solution, but started to increase it on my 2nd week from 2 teaspoons of the solution a day to more like 5 teaspoons a day. Yes, definitely felt an increase in libido. My heart feels stronger (weird thing to say, I know, but true).

After a few weeks of feeling great, no side effects, this week I decided to try 1/16th teaspoon of borax in a litre of water and drinking the entire litre during the day. No side effects to report, but after doing one liter for 2 days, my body just didn't want any more borax. The thought of drinking it made me go "uggh, no!"

I have now taken 3 days off and will go back to my lower dose borax solution on Monday. The older I get, the more I will need. But low dose seems right for me now.

Abdominal Pain, Bloating

Prioris, Bill, Ted, and TimH..etc: Thank you all so much for your informative posts on borax. They have explained my mild die-off reaction (herxheimer effect) from using it. I shall cut back a bit on the intake and continue on.

For the record, my apparent die-off reaction consists only of morning diarrhea.

The apparent positive effects that I have noticed recently have been that my chronic abdominal bloating has all but completely disappeared (I've literally had that for decades). Along with the bloating, general abdominal pain and discomfort have also all but disappeared, which included daily, middle-of-the-night deep burning pain in my gut.

Please note, that along with starting the borax regime, I have also started the “water cure” (Google it), which involves properly hydrating your body. These two remedies have removed a dark cloud of dismal depression that many digestive-related issues have caused me for many years. It feels like I have a new life. Cheers and blessing to all!!

I deplore honeymoon reviews. I've waited nearly 10 years to chime in! Sorry bout that.. At age 40 osteo-arthritis was setting in and was worst in my toes (two surgeries) back (car accident) as well as what we expect as "normal" in a couple of my digits. I started to get relief from the 1/8th-1/4 teaspoon Borax protocol within a month. After 6 months my pain in latter areas was reduced by more than 80% and remains so 10 years post.

I too have found a huge, albeit unexpected, improvement in my gut since taking borax powder (This didn't happen whenI was taking borax supplements in tablet form). Pretty much since the day I ran out of the tablets and used 'cleaning' borax (pure with no additives) I have noticed this effect. I told my mother about it as she too has had major gut issues that have caused her serious pain for over 20 years. She has been diagnosed with IBS and told basically that she has to live with it. She too has have next to no issues since taking borax powder (1 tsp dissolved in 1 l of water, then add 1 tsp of this liquid to a glass of water to drink every day, sometimes 2x a day.)

Hi. I just wanted to tell you how I've been taking my borax and how its helped me. I've been making a fruit smoothie which I drink through out the day via a thermos and just been putting the 1/4 teaspoon of borax directly in it.

What I've noticed is my back pain, leg pain gone. Other things like hormone issues great again but I've had a mastoid ear infection since I was a child. Been on many antibiotics, tried everything even had a mastoidectomy done with cholesteatoma removed and nothing had any good effect till I started using borax in my smoothies with vit. C.

I wanted to let you guys know and thank you for the great info and the fact of the matter is that without the info my infection would still be here and once again thank you.

Urine therapy works great for everything. Also Dr. Lugol's Iodine is a powerful tool as well. Researching old books has brought me to alot of this information. It is a fact, that when Rothchilds/Carnige created the first University, they removed ALL books of knowledge that promoted critical thinking. Schools were put in place to create "workers" not "thinkers".. That is a quote from Rothchild himself.

Borax Baths

For those having issues ingesting Borax I would suggest bathing. I had major healing bathing using various mineral salts in a hot bath for an hour a day for six weeks. I had been diagnosed with lyme and associated co infections including candida and cleared most if not all symptoms using bath salts, citrus (vit. C) and hydrogen peroxide in combination topically. I used Borax, Epsom, sea salts and dead sea salts together. I would also add half a bottle of Hydrogen peroxide and scrub my skin with citrus. I used about 4 cups total salt per bath. Soaking the neck and thyroid seems important and I cleared lumps around my thyroid and all sorts of skin anomalies. Whenever I feel sick again from environmental toxins and parasites I just take a few baths a week and it clears my system. I was sick for 8 years and tried western and non-traditional treatments and nothing worked like this bath formula. I never ate borax but did increase ingesting mineral salts, Vitamin C and MSM. I also like to put Borax in my work boots. I noticed a detox from this.

Arthritis, Herpes

In reply to Kate (Co),

I'm glad to hear that borax has helped your arthritis, herpes and CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)!

I have gotten stomach pain after taking borax, but this is mainly because I have drank too much at one time on an empty stomach. If I drink it as Ted suggests by sipping the liter bottle throughout the day, then I have no stomach problems. I also don't start sipping until after I have eaten breakfast which helps avoid the empty stomach issue.

You don't say what dose of borax you are taking or how you are taking it. Ted's recommended dose for women is 1/8th of a teaspoon in a liter of water sipped throughout the day or basically a slow release rate which would be less likely to cause stomach upset or other adverse events.

If you are already taking it per his recommendations and are still having stomach pain, perhaps you can try lessening your dose.

The fact that you say you got relief in 24 hours of your first dose suggests that you may be able to get by with a significantly lesser dose than whatever you are currently taking. The majority of people testing borax have mentioned results in time periods of days, weeks or months so a matter of just hours is very fast and perhaps you are very sensitive to borax and could possibly get by with significantly less. For example, let's say that you are taking Ted's recommended dose for women of 1/8th teaspoon dissolved in a liter of water, try cutting that down by half, to 1/16th teaspoon in a liter of water. If you don't have a 1/16th teaspoon to measure with, just take your normal one liter mix containing 1/8th teaspoon of borax and divide it in half by pouring half of your liter bottle into another one liter bottle. You should now have two one liter bottles with a half liter each. Top these two bottles off with purified water and you now have a two day supply of half of Ted's recommended dose for women or 1/16th teaspoon per liter.

Kate, please keep us posted on how your experiment with borax goes so that others here can learn from your experience.

Rash

For those of you reading this, a loud loud blast of a warning from a big red firetruck about Prednisone. I am personally familiar with this nightmare drug, as I watched it destroy my mother-in-law. Like many, many women in the western societies, she doted in doctors ad nauseum and literally became a human guinea for treatments of a viral lung infection called Sarcloidsis, easily mitigated by nutrition, in particular by consuming fresh fruits and vegetables which she did not.

One day we went to visit her and she has swelled to monstrous proportions after taking Prednisone. I was shocked. I did the research on the drug and found it caused the swelling and half a dozen other severe side effects including congestive heart failure. I warned her how dangerous this drug was but she continued to take it until she died a few months later at the young age of 44.

Truth is impossible to suppress and liars, being cowards, will always tell it if you watch and listen closely enough by the use of euphemisms and misleading deflections. So it is no surprise that NOWHERE in most medical language does the word heal or the word cure, both very definitive four letter words find their way into print. As such:

1. Your doctor "practices" MEDICINE!!!!

2. Your doctor "treats" SYMPTOMS.

3. Your doctor "prescribes" MEDICATION.

4. You have to be "patient" while being "practiced" on by somebody who is not interested in healing you or curing your "dis-ease". Not to mention that anybody who practices anything doesn't have mastery over their chosen profession.

Fast Forwarding decades, I have lost two younger siblings who also bought into the hype of the medical establishment, refused to exercise their God given intellect to research and died by doctor as a consequence.

And while I'm ranting let me warn everyone that the popularity of coconut oil has skyrocketed its price within this last year at the retail level. Another ruse to deny health and wellbeing to all. May God have mercy on us. Because the worst disease of all is mass murdering humanity. Greed and ignorance remain our most powerful enemies. Thank The Creator of all For EarthClinic.

Better But With Side Effects

Hi,

I started taking borax 2 months ago. For arthritis in my knee which exploded skiing. I also developed the most painful disease known: CRPS. This was 2 1/2 years ago. At that time I also found out I had herpes. After taking borax for only 24 hours I was able to walk 3 miles. Herpes outbreaks stopped.

BIG problem is side effects. Gut side effects. I sure don't want to quit borax, but am concerned about the gut pain. Can anyone tell me what happens in the gut to cause this pain?

I am 60 years old, diabetic and had chronic vaginal candidiasis. Six months ago, I have had severe itching and swelling on my genital and anal area. I also have had cheese-like white discharge on my labia and pain when I urinate which driving me crazy. I tried every remedy I know, but to no avail, until I' ve read about the borax. Every time I urinate and wash my private part, I dab my fingers( ring and point fingers) on borax powder and spread the powder on my genital and anal area. I feel soo relieved..Iam simply amazed at the progress I made with this...hope this will help... Sunny Grandma

Things are dose dependent. All of the Boron supplements I find are rather low like less than or equal to about 10mg. 1/4 teaspoon per day though dissolved in water is between 115mg-158mg depending on the measuring spoon and how level or round your scoop is. That is a huge delta in dose. I have heard of 50mg-60mg tablets but have never actually seen them for sale.

In the late 1980's and early 1990's as a high school athlete the ones sold to athletes where 3mg-6mg - again far lower than what you get in a rather common dose of 1/4 teaspoon of borax in 1 liter of water sipped through the day!

I took 1/4 teaspoon per day the first 3 weeks then started to get diarrhea. I reduced it to 1/8 of a teaspoon a day for 2 weeks and all of the diarrhea went away completely. Some days I take 1/8 teaspoon some days I take a 1/4 and I am fine.

In theory anything is better than not taking borax so if someone was really sensitive or had IBS you could start at 1/16th of a teaspoon and slowly over weeks and months build up to 1/4 teaspoon. Evidence is showing that observational with individuals that you can get a lot of health benefits at varying does but the higher the dose the more consistent the results seem to be.

In post menopausal women a lot of individuals have found that reversing osteoporosis takes around 150mg of borax, vit and 400mg-600mg of magnesium per day to reverse it and that is a far higher dose than someone without osteoporosis needs. In those without severe fluorosis or osteoporosis that have healthy bone mass, 50mg per day seems to be the sweet spot but again you need magnesium and vitamin D3 in the diet. It is thought that enzymes and mineral metabolism is how boron works it's many benefits. Some people probably get enough minerals in their diet but for most Americans minerals and Vitamin D3 and iodine are almost always low. Iodine helps to keep your body from depositing fluoride in your bones.

Well, after reading for hours, I decided what the heck, I'll try it. I am 53, get alot of bloating after eating, have toe nail fungus-all 10, probaly athletes feet, sore joints-almost all of them, a pounding headache the other day, which thank god I seldom get. Swelling in the left ankle and calf. I did just a bit less than 1/8 teaspoon, into a glass of almond milk. Drank in down slowly while watching tv. That was wednesday nite, didnt take any thursday, and today {Friday}when I went to get groceries, walking down the aisle, all of a sudden I noticed my hips didnt hurt at all as usual. I also did Borax and water to soak my feet while watching tv. Tonite I will repeat the process, this time rubbing the borax in over my feet after soaking them, and getting around the nail beds better with a small brush. I feel sure that sooner or later this or one of these homemade cures will work, so far my hips are much happier. I've done all the store otc for the feet problem-nothing worked. I continue to read exstensively on this Borax subject.

Bloating

Based on recommendations I found on the site, yesterday I tried Borax to help relieve my candida issue. I have had long standing bloating caused by the candida. Just to start off, I took a very small amount (maybe 1/20 teaspoon) of 20-mule team borax in 0.75L water, and drank it throughout the day. By about 4pm, I started having A LOT of flatulence that lasted several hours. Didn't smell bad luckily, but had to go home after work and stay there for a while :)

By the end of the evening, my belly felt empty, with none of the pressure or pain that I have come to live with. Unbelievable! I plan on continuing to use borax for my issues. I will work up gently to about 1/8 or 1/4 teaspoon 4 days a week, for a limit time frame. Anyone interested in trying borax, I recommend it, but please read the borax information on this site, and work up the dosage very gently, it is powerful. Thanks Earth Clinic!!

Borax for athletes foot:

After trying everything else you could buy at the store for his pretty much life long athletes foot problem - and not having results my boyfriend finally decided to try the remedy I kept telling him to try... borax - which he thought was poison him instantly but he 'trusted' the OTC stuff at the store!!! LOL

He wet his feet and then took a handful and rubbed it all over his feet.

He said they stopped itching immediately! He was stunned.

A few weeks later I asked him how his athletes foot was and he said: oh wow! It hasn't come back! That stuff totally cured it!!!

Now he tells all his friends about borax ;)

Fibromyalgia

Fibro/Flouride:

A brief history. 7 years ago thyroid cancer, the next year adrenal fatigue then early menopause, the following year uterine prolapsed followed by hysterectomy- the following year fibromyalgia and neuropathy. Early Childhood was fluorinated water along with fluoride tablets. Fall of 2008 I was looking at total disability. I could barely walk and couldn't sleep because of the pain and was throwing up daily from the pain in my back. I was on many medications that gave me no relief and I have since found out that they had fluoride as a binding agent. I was sure that my life was over at 45, but thanks to Ted and Earthclinic I am almost at 100%. After reading about fluoride I came to understand where all of my problems originated. I had all the symptoms and reactions. It has been an uphill battle with my doctors and relatives, but you can't argue with a body that is almost pain free. I began the borax detox of 1/8 tsp in a liter of water and within 3 days my symptoms were almost gone. I watch everything I eat and can detect fluoride in vitamins, foods and drinks within 15 minutes of ingesting it. I still suffer from the neuropathy and some pain from the neuropathy but I am off all meds and I have my life. I only wish more people would try to understand the fluoride connections. My sister and mother both suffer with side effects of fluoride and I have only been able to influence my mother. I still borax 5 days on and two days off and give my body a break every month or so for about a week. Thank you :)

Hair and Scalp

Until today, I have never read about mixing borax with water for washing hair.

I have long hair, and sometimes only wash my hair once or twice a week. When my diet is less than ideal, my hair gets a bit greasy, and at times I get somewhat of an itchy flaky scalp.

After learning about borax for dish washing (the clearest glass you will ever see! , and it kills the mold in your dish sponge), I decided to try washing my hair with it.

For many months now, I just dump a handful of borax into my palm, and rub it all over, mostly the area subject to be oily where my hair meets my forehead. Borax does not normally foam when you clean with it, but it foams when I rub it into my wet hair. I try rub the powder all over.

The first several times, I would just wash it out with water, but then I started using a diluted alkalizing and natural green soap. At first, the wet hair will have a dry feeling to it, but once it has thoroughly dried, it will be the softest hair. It just looks and feels great after this.

Any dandruff or flaky scalp will be gone for a couple of days after this. If your scalp is really bad, I would recommend following the protocol outlined above where the borax is diluted in water first.

Also, my hair is thinning, and I think, but am not sure, that the thinning has slowed down severely since I started using the borax wash.
