I've been taking 1 teaspoonful twice daily of a concentrated solution of one teaspoonful of borax to a litre of water and supplement this with magnesium. I usually put my dose into half a litre of cold green tea which I consume during the morning, and do the same in the evening.

I noticed an improvement in my general health after a few weeks and a great improvement after a few months. My claudication has improved greatly and my mind is so much clearer. I am 70. My mobility has also improved greatly. I've had no adverse effects from borax.

Borax doesn't increase hormones, it balances them.

You are taking way too much. If you're taking it in 1 litre of water every day, you should only be adding 1/8th of a teaspoon. If you are making a litre of concentrate, this is 1 teaspoon in 1 litre of water, but the daily dose is NO MORE THAN 3 TEASPOONS of this concentrate, starting from a dose of 1 teaspoon a day and working up. Please read more on this before you do yourself harm.

I believe that emotional response is called a herxheimer reaction / my daughter 22 who is now recovered from Lyme experienced them when killing pathogens because they release toxins. My guess you are killing bad stuff so it's actually a good sign. It wasn't really funny but she would start crying at a sad part of a movie - even a cartoon, and couldn't stop/ she would laugh through her tears. Other times it was pretty horrible all that she went through - good luck!

Borax for Yeast, Bone Density, Inflammation, Etc.

After reading much about boron in the form of Borax, I decided to give it a try not knowing what my results would be. I have Hashimoto (autoimmune thyroiditis), osteoporosis, undiagnosed gastro intestinal issue (like IBS, but gastroenterologist did not diagnose me after a year of seeing her! ), high blood sugar and cholesterol (total and LDL), extreme thirst for years, and have had inflammation issues for a while, especially in finger joints, but others as well including pain in left upper back for months now which I was starting to think may be some form of arthritis developing. A few weeks prior to starting the Borax, I had some sudden strange pains in my upper right chest and got unusual noxious feelings in my stomach (then) a few times. All of those unusual symptoms were strange, scary, and had just begun.

I made the liquid form using a 3 cup ball jar, mixing 3/4 rounded teaspoon of Borax into just over 3 cups of purified water.

I admit, I should have started out with 1 tsp of the above mixture in water for a few days, but I went right into the 1 tsp. of the Borax/water mix in water 3 times a day. I still had the extreme thirst when I began. Within a few days of starting the Borax, I got terrible stomach pains that stopped me cold. They did not last long, but I also had strange pains in other areas of my abdomen. I attribute the really bad stomach pains to yeast die off (herxheimer effect), because the very next day, not only did the extreme thirst go away and has not returned, but I lost all craving for sugar or other carbs (chips, etc.) and to date (6 weeks from beginning the Borax), those cravings have not returned. My appetite is somewhat suppressed, but I do eat when I'm hungry. During the first couple of weeks, I got achy all over. It was almost unbearable. So far, I have done 3 weeks on, 1 week off, and two weeks on. During the one week off, the thirst and cravings did not return. All abdominal pains have disappeared, the pain in my upper right back has disappeared, and after 6 weeks, the aches in my body have totally subsided, which has paralleled the inflammation, which has been much better to non-exhistent in the last few weeks. My gastrointestinal issues have been much better. I make/drink kefir, which has helped my gut issues greatly, but I've noticed that gut issues have improved more in the last two weeks.

With all the positive effects, I really could not wait to go back on after the one week break. I cannot wait to see what the effects are after 3 months. I plan on doing 3 weeks on, 1 week off every month. I cannot wait for my next blood work to see if my blood sugar is improved, and the next dexiscan for any bone density improvement.

My daughter has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. I certainly hope that she gives this natural "remedy" a chance to see if it will help her as well.

I look forward to the next 1.5 months and beyond with Borax! Thank you for all the information and posts! Love reading others' experiences and hope mine is encouraging for others as well.

It is possible borax is helping rattie if he has demodex mites in his hair follicles. Dogs and humans have demodex mites. In dogs it causes mange. Borax kills the mites. They come out of hair follicles to breed at night. They itch like crazy and can even cause rosacea in humans it is said. People are allergic to the mites droppings in the hair follicles or even the mite itself as it dies in the follicle.

Thank you for your reply! I am taking borax for mental acuity and bone health. I will update in the future, but I suspect that borax will be a better supplement for me after menopause. In the meantime, I have decided to take a few teaspoons of borax solution just once a week instead of every day. That small amount appears to be enough boron for my body at this time.

Hi Jeanette,

Good to hear your experience with borax.

I have a friend who has severe RA and she tried borax at the 1/8th teaspoon dose and it caused severe itching so she tried going down to just a very small pinch of borax in a glass of water because it was helping her arthritis. Even at the small pinch dose, the itching was just intolerable for her.

Eventually I got her to try boron to see if it might also work, but without the itching. Well, she was able to take the boron which she started at 36 mg per day and it was starting to reverse her RA symptoms with no itching, but in the 2nd week or so, she started noticing that she was becoming very depressed which is way out of charachter for her. She decided to decrease her dose down to 12mg of boron per day, but the depression persisted so she went down to 6mg/day which was one capsule. All the while her RA was improving, but even at just one capsule per day, the depression became too much and she had to stop taking it altogether.

Eventually I will let her know about the calcium fructoborate which is derived from plants and she if she wants to give it a shot or not. This would be more like the boron you would get from food and perhaps she will be able to tolerate it. It's nowhere near as cheap as borax, but if it works for her RA the way that boron did and it doesn't cause depression, it will be well worth it.

Clearly borax can have effects on hormones, but it seems to be a very individual thing.

Boron based supplements are usually in the 3 to 6 mg range which is considerably more than you are taking. To get a lower dose you may have to take some type of multi supplement that will have other things in it beside boron.

You didn't say that you have arthritis......do you or are you just taking borax for the mental clarity aspect that you mentioned? I wish it did that for me!

Hi Art.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I am sure about the dosage. I tried Ted's dosage for women at the beginning but cut back to the much smaller dose after a few days because it was causing the same emotional state (exactly the same, not more, not less) and I wanted to see if a smaller dose would work. So then I tried 1 teaspoon of the saturated 1 liter solution for a week, same reaction. I then took a few days break and tried half a teaspoon dosage. I do understand it is a very small amount of boron. Next I will buy a boron supplement and see if the same thing happens.

To clarify, the "emotional" state I am talking about is exactly the same way I feel a day or two before getting my period, lol. Things just upset me more than normal during that time. It's usually only a day or two, but now on borax it's daily, which is hard! I thought boron was supposed to increase estrogen and progesterone, but maybe it is having a different effect on me?

https://www.myhormonology.com/female-hormone-cycle/

Final 6 days of your cycle: Estrogen and progesterone plunge

As estrogen plunges during this premenstrual week, it can trigger moodiness, sadness, irritability, muscle aches, insomnia, headaches, fatigue and a wide variety of other PMS-related symptoms. Not every woman suffers from premenstrual syndrome and symptoms can be milder or more severe from month to month often due to diet, stress, medications, exercise habits or your body's personal sensitivity to hormones.

I wouldn't call what I experience any of the above like moodiness or sadness or anger, rather that an injustice, of which there are many lately in the world, will make me upset. I don't feel this intensely normally, just when I drink borax. A hormone blood test would be very helpful to know what is going on. I wonder if there is a lab test you can do at home to test hormone levels?

In reply to Jeanette (Québec, Canada),

You say that you mix one teaspoon of borax in a litre of water and then take only a half teaspoon of this mix per day. There are 405 one half teaspoon doses in your liter of borax solution or more than a year of daily servings. A teaspoon of borax on my digital scale is roughly 4 grams or 4,000 mg. Divide this number by 405, the number of servings from your one liter bottle of borax solution to find out what your daily dose of borax is. 4,000/405 = 9.8765 mg of borax per day. Borax is 11.3% boron which is thought to be a main active component that has the antiarthritic effects. So you would multiply your daily dose of borax, roughly 10 mg and multiply by .113 to find out how much boron you are getting per day. This comes out to 1.13 mg of boron per day.

Dr Rex Newnham who is thought to be one of the research pioneers who helped establish the effectiveness of boron for arthritis said that some people could get by with a maintenance dose as low as 6 mg of boron per day once they had achieved remission or great improvement.

Ted on the other hand recommended 1/4 teaspoon of borax for men and 1/8th teaspoon for women per day. Assuming an 1/8th teasppon of borax is 500 mg, you would multiply this number by .113 to see how much boron is in an 1/8th teaspoon. 500*.113 = 56.5 mg of boron per dose.

For myself, through trial and error, have determined that Ted's dose for men is my minimum effective dose at 1,000 m of borax or about 110 mg of boron per day.

Are you certain about the dose and bottle size you are taking to see benefit?

I ask because, had I read your post before others and decided to try borax at your dose or even double or triple your dose, I would have come to the conclusion that borax does not work for me. I wouldn't want someone to miss out on the potential benefits of borax because they used an ineffective dose for them. I fully agree with the idea of starting low to make sure you can tolerate borax or boron, but once tolerance is determined, proper dosing per individual is very important!

My friend told me about borax and how it helped her brain function so I researched it, found this site and started taking borax daily in very small amounts. Once a day I take only 1/2 teaspoon of the borax solution. Borax solution = 1 teaspoon of borax in 1 liter of water and I take 1/2 teaspoon of that once a day instead of the 1 teaspoon that most people take. It is wonderful. I am clear headed, clear thinking, more energy. The only issue I have is that it makes me feel very emotional and I wonder if this means it is affecting my estrogen levels or another hormone? I can handle the emotions, but have not yet figured out if this means I should take even less borax solution a day. I am female in my late 30s. Anyone with experience or knowledge, please chime in.

I have just completed my first 3 weeks on borax. What an amazing supplement. I started with the 2 mg solution (1 teaspoon of borax in a liter of water). The first day I took just 1 teaspoon of the solution. I felt a slight sinus pressure in my forehead within 10 minutes of drinking the solution. It was very distinct but not uncomfortable. I also felt emotional the rest of the day! I am in my early 40s by the way.

I kept it up, 2nd day I took a teaspoon in the morning and a teaspoon at night. Same thing, more emotional than usual, pressure in my forehead. But the 2nd day is when the amazing things started to happen. My dreams became more vivid and my sleep more restful. I had a GIANT increase in energy. My joint felt less creaky and achey. I kept up the borax solution, but started to increase it on my 2nd week from 2 teaspoons of the solution a day to more like 5 teaspoons a day. Yes, definitely felt an increase in libido. My heart feels stronger (weird thing to say, I know, but true).

After a few weeks of feeling great, no side effects, this week I decided to try 1/16th teaspoon of borax in a litre of water and drinking the entire litre during the day. No side effects to report, but after doing one liter for 2 days, my body just didn't want any more borax. The thought of drinking it made me go "uggh, no!"

I have now taken 3 days off and will go back to my lower dose borax solution on Monday. The older I get, the more I will need. But low dose seems right for me now.

Hi. I just wanted to tell you how I've been taking my borax and how its helped me. I've been making a fruit smoothie which I drink through out the day via a thermos and just been putting the 1/4 teaspoon of borax directly in it.

What I've noticed is my back pain, leg pain gone. Other things like hormone issues great again but I've had a mastoid ear infection since I was a child. Been on many antibiotics, tried everything even had a mastoidectomy done with cholesteatoma removed and nothing had any good effect till I started using borax in my smoothies with vit. C.

I wanted to let you guys know and thank you for the great info and the fact of the matter is that without the info my infection would still be here and once again thank you.

Mold??

TED'S Remedies and Borax saved my Life, that's for sure. I used 99,9 percent clean Borax available in France / Germany. Borax fixed in a timeline of 6 month most of my physical problems. The biggest Issue was a heart problem which I didn' t noticed in the Past but Borax fixed it! I had noticed this "micro or nano operation:)" when its getting "warmer" inside! The Heart. This was very nice expirience:). The same feeling I had with jaw pain (because of an old but already fixed cyst). Borax fixed an "Tennis Elbow" and somerhing behind my Eyes, too. And something in my right leg. But in this case It was really "hot" for 3 seconds. I dont' t know what it was. But before taking Borax I noticed "Red Points" at the right leg. ALL these operations took approx 2 minutes together!!

For your books. I took approx. 1g borax (1/5 teaspoon) in hot Coffee:) half a year but the "fixing moment" was very early in the beginning. Thank you

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Borax water. I would like to know more about your cleansing symptoms. I started drinking 1/8 tsp per liter. I noticed improvements in facial skin, healing, leg pain, and knees not popping the first week.

HOWEVER - Day 6, I became immediately nauseous and very hot while volunteering (planting flowers). I had to leave after 2 hours because it happened 3 times. Then I had to make a trip to the bathroom-very loose evacuation. Was wondering if the magnesium supplement they suggested while drinking borax water may have had more punch than normal from the Borax. I was dumping water on myself to help cool down and since I was with a bunch of older women, joked that it must be my first hot flash that I've been warned about for the past 5 years. (I'm almost 50).

What symptoms did you incur? And is 6 weeks a standard time table? I have no idea what to expect. I'm very tired

I just wanted to say ~ that the 20 Mule Team Borax diluted (1 rounded teaspoon) in one quart of water 32 ounces (if you have city water I would not use it and get distilled water or the Zero Water purifier which is AWESOME)

I have No More Pain in my shoulders (even had a cortisone shot 5 months ago in one) and I started taking the Boron concentrate in water (not with meals but before bedtime on an empty stomach) and not only does the left shoulder not hurt anymore at all but the right shoulder does not hurt either (as it was starting to have joint issues! The shot didn't seem to help much but after a week of taking the 2-3 teaspoons of concentrate in a glass of water I have been Pain Free and have a lot of mobility in the shoulder where I couldn't move it before! My skin like others is BABY SOFT!!! Oh my gosh it feels like velvet it is so smooth! My hair is thicker and feels fuller ~ and my wounds have healed very quick! (I have injured myself with some tools I was using repairing old Coleman Lanterns) and the deep gashes healed within a week where before I started using the 20 Mule Team Borax soap my wounds would not heal for weeks! I am so amazed I tell EVERYONE how wonderful this is but family thinks I am crazy and even though my two sisters suffer severely with back/bone Osteoporosis they won't try this mixture ~ so sad ~ and I just lost my niece to Lung/Brain cancer she was only 53 years old and I am close to 70 myself!

If you try this, I am telling you ~ you will Not Be Sorry! The Results Are Amazing,,,, how thankful I am for the PDF File "The Boron Conspiracy Theory" you will understand WHY big Pharmaceutical Companies wants this outlawed ~ they would lose Billions if people would only try this Natural Mineral!!!

I have used borax water to clean my hair for years. I use 1 teaspoon of borax in a cup of hot water to dissolve. Then I put it in an empty 16 oz shampoo bottle and top it off with RO water - we're on well water which is extremely hard.
In the shower, I shake the bottle and use about 1/4 of it on my hair to clean it. Rinse, spray with ACV water (1 part apple cider vinegar to 5-10 parts water, in a spray bottle) and then do a final rinse.
The ACV in the spray bottle is not an exact science, seems to work just as well with the weaker amount, too.
Good luck!

Hi Steph from Los Angeles,

I suggest either spraying your 50/50 mixture on your scalp 15 minutes before showering (& maybe shampooing?) and then rinsing off with a mug or two of "nice" water with a teaspoon of lemon juice in it. OR spraying the same 50/50 mixture on 5 minutes after having shampooed and then rinsing off as above.

Someone on this site also suggested massaging the scalp for many minutes to stimulate it and get the blood flowing etc.

I hope this helps.

@Michael: Yes, I experienced weight loss, which I wasn't expecting - but the weight I'd gained was the result of a disease that normally makes people lose weight (I had to be the 1-in-10,000 who gained it - ugh!).

I wasn't even noticing that the weight was falling off until about 2 weeks after I began taking 20ml of the concentrate in a large glass of water, 4 x a day - I had other health concerns that I was focused on healing at the time, so the weight loss was a very pleasant and unexpected bonus.

Very happy to say that the weight has remained off and I'm still taking the same amount of Borax daily.

I'm not sure about flushing out fungus - someone with more knowledge on that could better advise you.

However, I add one level teaspoon of Borax to one liter of water and use that as my concentrate, from which I take 20mls, twice daily, in a glass of water. Lesser amounts, I found, didn't seem to have any effect on my system - but then again, my body has been very ill for just over ten years, so perhaps it takes a bit more for someone like me.

As for hair loss, have you tried dispensing with commercial hair products and instead, using your Borax 'Concentrate' to wash your hair with? (You can make up a separate bottle of the concentrate for washing hair to leave in the bathroom.)

Of course, it doesn't lather, but it does feel slippery when you pour it onto wet hair, so you know where it is when you touch your scalp.

Just let it sit in your hair for a moment or so (or you can 'scrub' if you like as you would with shampoo), and then rinse thoroughly.

After that, rinse with the same dilution of citric acid in water (1 level teaspoon in 1 liter of water) and pour over scalp and hair.

Rinse out the citric acid 'rinse' - and you're good to go.It's a lot less fuss than commercial products and a lot less damaging to scalp, hair, eyes and skin.

I've been taken borax for all most a month now and I am feeling great my knees don't hurt anymore, I'm sleeping better and getting more energy by the day.

The questions I have. Does the borax flush out fungus from the body? I have read about hair growth since I'm 48 male with hair loss.

While I'm taking 1/8 of a teaspoon borax in a liter of distilled water, do I make a paste to put on my scalp? To make the follicles to start hair growth. Or is there something else I should do.

Until today, I have never read about mixing borax with water for washing hair.

I have long hair, and sometimes only wash my hair once or twice a week. When my diet is less than ideal, my hair gets a bit greasy, and at times I get somewhat of an itchy flaky scalp.

After learning about borax for dish washing (the clearest glass you will ever see! , and it kills the mold in your dish sponge), I decided to try washing my hair with it.

For many months now, I just dump a handful of borax into my palm, and rub it all over, mostly the area subject to be oily where my hair meets my forehead. Borax does not normally foam when you clean with it, but it foams when I rub it into my wet hair. I try rub the powder all over.

The first several times, I would just wash it out with water, but then I started using a diluted alkalizing and natural green soap. At first, the wet hair will have a dry feeling to it, but once it has thoroughly dried, it will be the softest hair. It just looks and feels great after this.

Any dandruff or flaky scalp will be gone for a couple of days after this. If your scalp is really bad, I would recommend following the protocol outlined above where the borax is diluted in water first.

Also, my hair is thinning, and I think, but am not sure, that the thinning has slowed down severely since I started using the borax wash.

Hi, its recommended that only citric acid is powerful enough to remove borax from the hair.

Borax liquid is ready to use as shampoo, too. It does not lather but goes right to work removing sweat and soil without stripping your color or natural oils. It inhibits scalp bacteria and stops flaking and itching. Hair gets squeaky clean so quickly (just a few squirts does it) that you might think nothing has happened! You will soon be accustomed to non-lathery soap.

Rinse very thoroughly because you should leave your scalp slightly acidic. Take a pint container to the shower with you. Put ÂÂ1/4 tsp. citric (not ascorbic) acid crystals (see Sources) in it. For long hair use a quart of rinse. Only citric acid is strong enough to get the borax out, lemon juice and vinegar are not.

After shampooing, fill the container with water and rinse.

Rinse your whole body, too, since citric acid is also anti-bacterial. All hair shampoo penetrates the eye lids and gets into the eyes although you do not feel it. It is important to use this natural rinse to neutralize the shampoo in your eyes.

(Some people have stated that citric acid makes their hair curlier or reddens it. If this is undesirable, use only half as much citric acid.) Citric acid also conditions and gives body and sheen to hair."

I had surgery as an infant at both ears otitis media. I am female 58 years old. 20 years ago it began to give problems with severe tinnitus, which is a strong buzz that never stops in my head. Are there any reports of experience with borax or other alternative means what can be done?

I'm on Borax now 5 days and can sleep better, my severe back pain are completely gone and I have a wonderful skin baby soft. My water to clean with precious Shungite stones from Russia to neutralize all the pollutants out of the water and cause fullerenes (antioxidants and minerals) these stones never discharged and have a very high carbon content, they are likely to come from a meteorite because they only exist in a single place in Russia. I bought them in my home country of Austria at Amazon.de. Greetings Evelyn

I use about a tablespoon of borax disowned in about 2 cups of warm water. In the shower then pour the borax solution onto scalp. I scrub and let sit in scalp for five minutes then wash out. Pretty simple.

By the way...I've always found EC so easy to navigate.

Hello everyone,

The layout of this site is very confusing to me and I am not certain that I am posting correctly.

Thanks for all of the useful information, it is much appreciated. I have couple of questions.

I've only read about half of the borax thread and I am interested in doing a borax shampoo for my scalp issues.

Questions:

1. What is the exact recipe for the borax shampoo/ wash? From what I gather it would be 2 cups hot water and one tablespoon of borax.

2. How long do I leave it in?

That's about it! I plan on doing the ingestion with water method later, but I want to experiment with this first. Thanks again everyone!

To James (Frostburg) ---

I read your post with interest. You also mentioned that you had good results using this mixture on your dogs. Other versions use H202 but my dog has a most beautiful black wavy coat and I cannot bring myself to ruin it. I did one treatment but will also make a spray. Thanks for posting.

You need more borax than that. Mix a half TSP of borax with a half-tsp of baking soda (not baking powder). Put the resulting powder in a cup or saucer and have it handy. Get your daughter's hair sopping wet. Wet your finger-tips and touch the powder to pick up a bit (about an 8th tsp) and work your fingers into her hair, all over her head. Her hair will soon feel slippery. That's fine. Leave it a bit then dry her hair. Her hair will be a bit stiffer due to the B&BS. The slight solution of borax and baking soda will also remain behind on her scalp and do the job. Repeat the next time you wash her hair. Results should be noticeable in a day.

Dear Om,

I always love to hear of your successes and progress. While I am not surprised at the great results you are getting with turmeric, it always makes me happy to hear more good news with it!

Regarding treating your dog with mange - we did also use hydrogen peroxide in the mix with borax and water as per Ted's mange treatment. It seems that his borax treatment for scalp infections in humans does not include the peroxide.

Love,

HI U BROOKE, , , , , , , , , when the term saturated appears, it means that the solution can no longer absorb any more . Take yo sweet tea. It can only take so much sugar, and the rest goes to the bottom of the glass. It can only get so sweet for the temperature and that's the reason Southern folks sweeten their tea when it's hot so it's super saturated when ice is added. It's a Redneck thing.

I can't speak for Ted, but I think he meant for you to add Borax until it would no longer be absorbed and the crystals would end up in the bottom of the jar. The supernate, or clear part, would them be saturated.

I'm just a passer by, but I think you just need to use your common sense. You have a trail, so follow it. You want instant success and that does not always happen. Just get started and you will find success.

Dear Mama to Many ----

Your response resonates well with me specially since my big water dog has the red mange again and Neem Oil did not made the grade even though it may have interrupted their breeding cycle. I will use your goat remedy.

For my hair I will add Dr. Christopher's black walnut oil treatment. Being vegan for a year did much damage to my metabolism and am living vegetarian with goats milk again, hoping my hair will grow again and my body will recover.

As to turmeric, I have had a glass hot goat milk with one tsp. turmeric twice a day for two weeks now and on some days the turmeric elixir that I posted on EC recently.

This was to mitigate muscle pain from an old injury from the groin of my right leg down to the entire leg. Gradually the pain is diminishing as well I feel more flexibility. But the unexpected results with the "Golden Queen" is the disappearance of three abscesses causing trouble and now all is quiet. I did not expect that.

Also, in the last two days I perceived turmeric working in both breasts, which reminds me of Ayurvedic medical comments that T. will prevent and heal breast cancer. This can be felt if one is resting very quietly. I also have an inflammation from the old injury in my groin and it is also diminishing.

This is good news and so pleasant to administer.

Namaste, Om

Dear Brooke,

You have tried so many things for your daughter. (I read your initial post that outlined the many things you have tried.) I am sorry this is dragging on so long for you and for your daughter!

Regarding the borax mixture - I have used a borax recipe from Ted on my goats (with great success, I might add! ) On his recipe for animals he uses 3 heaping Tablespoons of Borax in 4 cups of water. We did not wash this off of the goats. We put it into a spray bottle and sprayed them twice a day. I think 4 days on and 2 days off sounds reasonable. It did not irritate or dry their skin and they had new hair growth in a remarkable amount of time.

I know you have tried castor oil and coconut oil, but I would consider trying them again. On one of the two days off, try gently massing into the scalp equal parts of castor oil and coconut oil (if you still have tea tree essential oil around you could add a few drops of that per tablespoon of oil) and letting it sit on the head for an hour or two, (I wrap the head with plastic wrap and a towel to protect furniture and keep the oils from spreading.) Then gently wash out using the natural shampoo you use. It may take 2 shampoos to get it to not look greasy.

I have read about the late Dr. Christopher using black walnut tincture on a serious scalp fungal infection with great success. If I were going to try that, I would get a good quality black walnut tincture (I trust Herb Pharm.) Put one dropperful of the tincture into 2 ounces of water and apply to the scalp daily. Interestingly, Black Walnut does contain iodine, which has seemed to help your daughter some in the past. Because this could cause a stain, you could try this at night. Perhaps use the borax in the morning?

I would also try some things internally. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil has anti-fungal properties. If you could get her to take 3/4 teaspoon of this twice a day, that may be helpful.

Also, in my house, "When in doubt, try turmeric." I give turmeric daily for something or other. One day I had three children complain of three different ailments and turmeric was the answer for all three! Turmeric is a blood purifier. It has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. I give a five year old about 1/4 teaspoon a day. In yogurt or applesauce or mixed in a smoothie. (I put 1/4 teaspoon into my 3 year old's breakfast smoothie this morning and he didn't even know it! He was attacked by a mosquito last night and had a lot of itchy bites, so I wanted to get some turmeric into him.) Some say turmeric can be constipating, so it should be taken with plenty of water.

A probiotic or daily consumption of kefir may be helpful, too.

Please let us know how things go for your daughter. And let me know if something I wrote was not clear.

I am having a hard time locating the exact protocol regarding borax. My 5 yr old daughter has a fungal infection on her scalp. Ted replied to me to used a borax saturated solution, but I still haven't read exactly what ratio to use for topical use. Lastly night I mixed 1/8 tsp with 1 liter of water and rinsed her hair and let sit for 5 min, then rinsed off with reverse osmosis water. so could someone please help me...I'd greatly appreciate it as her scalp has been suffering for a year and it's really been stressful for our family. Here are my questions.

1)What ratio do I use topically?

2) Do I only mix with water? or include something else..I've been reading about the dryness?

3) How often do I do this? I read something about 4 days on 2 days off?

4) Do I use this as the/instead of the shampoo (we always use natural/minimal shampoo) ? Do I leave borax on or rinse off?

I have been taking 20 mule team borax for two years now for arthritis and migraines. I also have crohn's disease and diverticulitis which it greatly helps. This is a wonder product and from what I have read..the original person who discovered the medical uses of this product tried to have it pass the FDA as a cheap and effective fix for many ailments...But big pharma did not like that so the doctor was fined and a warning was put on the box. Figures...it is completely safe. no side efects so far when used in moderation..

I make a mix with one quart of filtered water and one tablespoon of borax. Put in fridge and take one table spoon on that mixture every other day for two weeks. then move to a one week on and one week off schedule..because it does remove metals..even the ones u need like magnesium.

I would recommend this to anyone at any age or condition. it has been a life saver for me with my fibromyalgia also :)

Hello. Read your post and couldn't help to think of lecithin granuals. Crush the granuals and blend all items. Lecithin is an emulsifier, meaning it binds the oils together with water into creamy consistency. This lecithin also when taken orally will pull oil out your body (Oil pulling ). Also a lil FYI : Walgreens sells a name brand called shea moisture, their products all organic, no parabans or sulfates. Find it at the ethnic isle. Not as cheap as regular shampoos but not too expensive either. And if you go from now until February 28th it's buy one get 2nd at 50% off. I love the coconut hibiscus line. You might want to check out their Jamaican black castor line, they have clarifying shampoo with apple cider vinegar and their leave in Conditioner has great ingredients. The good part is Walgreens has a good return policy, if you don't like, you return it!

Can you please tell me how to make a simple emulsion of borax, coconut oil and water? I can't and haven't used commercial shampoos or soaps for years because they make my skin very dry and uncomfortable and I like to use more natural things. Recently I started using borax because my other options weren't really getting my hair clean enough and it works great but dryness is becoming an issue for me again now because of it. However I want to continue using the borax because it's natural and it gets my hair clean. I was thinking if I mix it with oil that could combat the drying factor but I don't want to be left oily either so I need to know how to make it mix and emulsify like mayonnaise so it will rinse away without leaving me oily. I would like to make it rather thin so it's easy to put through my hair. Can you tell just a basic instruction of how much of each thing of coconut oil, borax and water and how to do them so that they emulsify together properly?

I looked at the article you posted and there is zero scientific study to back it up and the tone is all opinion of one individual; as in "It's also in slimy toys and some nutritional supplements.". Certainly not a statement one would find in a scientific article.

I believe this article is more the truth. http://educate-yourself.org/cn/boraxconspiracy03jul12.shtml

Hi Jennysmom2. Happy to reply. Hope it helps. I've been taking borax for 1 (one) week, that's why I'm so surprised at the progress. I tried borax once before with less success and at a higher concentration. Could that account for greater success this time?

I've been trawling the internet looking for answers but haven't found any. Just seems to be the same info going round and round. The most scientific information I've found seems to be the paper by Walter Last that I mentioned previously. Sorry to be of such limited help. For now, I'm monitoring myself as closely as I'm able and taking note of gains as they happen - so far no losses. I'll try to keep posting here of any new developments and hope that helps you and others.

Ultimately I'm hoping to reverse my osteoarthritis. If that happens I think you'll hear me! As mentioned before my knee pain is pretty much gone and I intend to give it 3 months before I go to the doctor to request another x-ray. I guess then we'll see what, if anything, has happened to the structure of my knees.

As for weight loss, I seem to have plateaued too. No idea why so, no help there. I've just added iodine into the mix so now that's; borax, magnesium oil and iodine. I read somewhere that these are complementary and I know from here that iodine can influence weight loss. Guess I'll find out soon. I'll let you know how I go.

I asked the same question about weight loss a few weeks ago, and no one replied, so I am answering you now. I am/was taking the borax, (1/4 teaspoon) in water daily. I was losing about 4 ounces of weight per day. This lasted about a week or so and then I stabilized. I gave myself a break from the borax and just continued drinking ACV and baking soda. I am going to start the borax again and hopefully I will continue to lose weight, as I would like to lose 20 pounds. I have not noticed a whitening of teeth, but would not be disappointed if that happened! Would love to know how long you have been taking the borax. Perhaps I should get some magnesium oil. Please reply on your progress.

Just thought I'd add a line or two to document the ongoing strangeness that is my borax experience. My teeth have noticeably whitened. I haven't read anything about teeth getting whiter so I'm a little confused. Has anybody else experienced this? Also, regarding the accelerated weight loss, has anybody else experienced anything similar? The only thing I'm doing is taking borax and also rubbing on a little magnesium oil daily.

As for the dilution instructions above, I thought I should let you know that it came from an article I found by a man named Walter Last. The article is titled "The Borax Conspiracy". There's some interesting information in this article, including instructions. FYI - The website I got it from made my browser throw up a warning. I printed it to a pdf and it seems to be ok, but you should exercise due caution.

OK, just the facts. I'm taking an almost homoeopathic dilution of borax; 1 rounded teaspoon dissolved in 1 litre of water. Then take 2 to 3 teaspoons per day of this already dilute solution. Much less than I've seen recommended here but it works a treat for me.

On the first day I noticed nothing at all, including no ill effects.

On the second day a thick coating appeared on my tongue, clearly this was yeast being chased out of my system. I also noticed that my skin was much softer. I'm male so I wasn't looking for this but it certainly feels healthier, so yay! In the evening I felt very tired and had to sleep; I have had insomnia forever so this was surprising.
On the third day the many discoloured patches on my skin disappeared - not faded; gone! I've had these patches for about 20 years and I've known they were fungus for all that time and now they are completely gone. Also my hair feels softer and thicker.
Sometime during all of this I noticed that the osteoarthritis in my knees was diminished to such a degree that the pain of walking was almost gone.

It is now the 4th day since I started taking borax and the gains continue unabated. My tongue has cleared up and I'm even losing weight. Lots of weight. In 4 days.

Can this be happening? The sceptic in me wants to reserve opinion but the results so far are so breathtaking that I had to post this. The main point I wanted to make was the extremely dilute solution I'm using, and yet it still works. So, if you are have trouble getting your head around ingesting borax, perhaps you could try this method too. By my reckoning you'll be taking roughly 1/200th of a teaspoon of borax per teaspoon of liquid and you can barely taste it. Hope this helps.

Good luck all.

Thank you for your comment. I guess I am just wondering if the rapid weight loss is from the borax. I am down 4 pounds in a week from my previous low weight. (weight varies a couple pounds a month due to cycle.) I have lost 1 inch on my stomach and 1/2 inch on my hips. Previously, my weight would not budge. Additionally, I have no more soreness on the sides of my thighs or breasts. (A sign of estrogen dominance.) I guess I am just wondering if the rapid weight loss is from the borax? Killing the candida, lowering my ph, balancing my hormones, or all of the above. I really haven't read anyone say anything like this before. Also, I really can't figure out exactly how much boron is in 1/8 teaspoon borax. If someone could tell me, I would appreciate it.

I also suspect low thyroid, as my basal temperature is in the low 95 degree range in the mornings. I have been taking the ACV with baking soda and 1/8 teaspoon borax daily for a week now, I was previously just taking the ACV and baking soda. I have had a slight headache, which is unusual for me. I have been feeling great with a lot of extra energy and a much more positive attitude and outlook on life. The most exciting part is that I am losing about 4 ounces in body weight each day. Boron alone won't kill the infection. Boric acid is also what is needed to kill the infection. Once the RA infection is killed then one can try supplementing with boron only for preventative and see if that keeps things at bay. One should take some magnesium with borax since a lack of magnesium could render the borax protocol ineffective.

Suffering from extreme pathogen toxicity I got desperate and Liposomed Borax by the same method as Vit-C. This method proved way more effective in comparison to a half cup in a hot bath. I drank 2 2oz glasses of Lipo Borax for aprox 2 months whereupon I reduced to 1 dose daily and now almost only one dose every other day. I also fallow the Lipo Borax w/ Lipo Vit-C w/ very good results. This combo protocol seems to be, at least theoretically, a very powerful anti-cancer treatment.

I take borax on empty stomach. Borax tastes "soapy".

Mixing it with random food makes no sense. If people are doing that, I could imagine all sorts of digestive problems. Never heard someone use the word "metallic" to describe it. If taste is not palatable, just dilute it with more water.

I think the chances of toxicity is extremely low. I think one should distinguish between first time user loading dose (i would say around 3 weeks) and long term dose.

I think the loading dose can be higher but Ted's just trying to err on the side of caution just to be safe. One should review the symptom list for boron toxicity and just be aware of it. That should be enough to keep one out of trouble, if it should happen, you will be right on top of it.
