As to dosages, please check previous postings on borax toxicity I been through that so many times. If you are still not convinced, then don't do it. As to the link you submitted, borax according to them is toxic at 0.6 mg/ml -- that is equivalent in drinking terms 600 grams per liter. That is hardly the dose I am considering. The dosage I use is 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon (women requires low dose 1/8 then men 1/4 because of their size) per liter of water. That means it is added in all liters you drink and you determine if that remedy is helping you, and it doesn't require a long time, you should know within 3 to 7 days at the most. It is an essential mineral and the dose is much less than LD50. I calculate my dose assuming you weigh only one kilogram and need just 1/2 of that is my calculations for maximum dose and it is lower still if the person has any side effects on that amount. Therefore, the dose of 1/8 for women's dose is based on that.

As to details of ankylosing spondylitis, I don't have many patients here, probably I seen one or two. What I can conclude with certainty is it helps. The autoimmune disease for all mycoplasma and mycobacterium is really simple, the mycobacterium enters healthy cells and infects the inner cells, that's why is is so difficult to kill it and that is why they referred to as attacking healthy cells, but they are not healthy. Suppressing immune system would hardly be the way to go.

However there are a couple of avenues I found where we can kill them from the inside. Remember that nearly all antibiotics are useless with attacking the inside the cells they do not enter the insides of cells. There is one or two antibiotics that does get inside the cells - one is doxycycline the second one is minocycline. For the desperate I guess they will even try the second one. The doxycycline use is a lot better, which is one capsule and twice a day for the first time, and thereby once a day it takes about a week to know some effect but the people here it takes them only a day. Minocycline is a generally not recommended because of side effects, but those who do not respond will try it anyway. It causes nausea.

As to the borax, you can mix with hydrogen peroxide 3% one capful per 1 liter of water and 1/8 teaspoon. It hardly has any side effects, unless you have other issues, such as metal poisoning, in that case we treat metal poisoning first such as mercury poisoning amalgam or lead poisoning, in which case I prefer to use disodium EDTA or my favorite tetra Sodium EDTA, as it is less acidic. Without the metal poisoning it will be a bit easier by skipping this step and add take borax with hydrogen peroxide. In order to allow the body some breathing room between oxidation and anti-oxidation, you can try hydrogen peroxide for 5 days and no hydrogen peroxide for 2 days, and borax for all days.

The other way I have developed of killing the infection from the inside the cells is DMSO and Lugol's with aloe vera oil applied from the outside. That works too. There is also another method I have tried which is Castor oil with DMSO, that works too. And then if he doesn't respond to that one, this respond positively no matter what is the DMSO with tannic acid, where tannic acid is given at 1/8 teaspoon per 100 cc of DMSO and mixed with 30% to 50% water. As to the castor oil and DMSO is mixed with 50% each. As to the Lugol's and DMSO it's just applying Lugol's the area and then apply DMSO, then to relieve the inflammation I apply the aloe vera oil.

That's just the initial success then to help you way to recovery I probably require aloe vera oil drops between 5 to 10 drops, magnesium chloride solution 8 drops three times a day, and some 5000 i.u. of vitamin D2 or vitamin D3.

There is one thing you have to be aware of, normal antibiotics takes 9 months that's just for doxycycline. so I expected any natural remedies would take that long too, because mycobacterium that lines the inside the cells takes time, but if you do things right it may require less time.

In Bangkok things are a little strange. I chase clients because I think I have a cure, but people from Earthclinic at least, they are chasing me! There's probably an explanation in order as to why this occurs. It seems as if people here have the cure or at least something that will help them for their condition and therefore I am just drowned by other competitors! Since competition usually wins out (hospitals and other alternative healers) I spend my day typing out remedies if I have a free time.

Ted

P.S. The website mentioned in your post is administering a toxic dose even at 0.1 mg per milliliter works out to 100 mg per 100 milliliter works out to 1000 grams per 1000 milliliter. My dose is 1/8 teas per 1000 milliter or 1 liter.

After doing this, try a pinch of borax in your drinking water. Also check out Dr. Hilda Clark's website and try all of her cleanses. They have worked wonders for my Candida. Colloidal Silver worked to cure my Rosacea!

Hi Ted, I'm considering the Borax regime for Mycoplasma and / or Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). When checking a suitable dosage I stumbled upon this link - Effect of borax on immune cell proliferation:

http://www.occup-med.com/content/4/1/27

AS is considered an auto immune disorder and I'd really like to hear your comments.

I've learned so much from Earth Clinic. Thanks. :)

Thank you, Lily, what a brilliant idea -- flavor it! I figure just the tiniest bit of flavor will go a long way, just to get the soapy edge off.

Nettie, I also use borax on my face. After a layer or two of borax (mixed with HP and TTO) is dry I put on a generous amount of Sea Buckthorn Oil. I get a bit orange, but that's not the end of the treatment. After that I put on 20% zinc cream from the drugstore (baby section), which is white. I just do a thin layer, but it cuts the orange and I look pretty much normal, and the zinc is a sunscreen. After that I dust with face powder if I feel it is needed. Sea Buckthorn Oil is labeled as being good for rosacea.

No, No...... Borax is to be taken diluted and NEVER in concentrated form, as it will damage liver and kidneys. If the taste is unpleaseant ad apple juice or other juice.

Hello! I was wondering if I could put my 4x per-week, daily dose of Borax into capules (I take 1/8 teaspoon) and swallow them thus, because putting the 1/8 (a woman's amount) into water makes the water taste soapy and unpalatable. I am using the Borax for rosacea - demodex extermination. Thank you!

I think borax (drinking and external use) is the answer for all my skin problems.

ringworms, moles, seborreic dermatitis scalp and skin, all over, for 20 years. Losing hair, small red dots (not itch under skin I only can get a rid pinching with a needle and blood come out) if I dont pinch it with the time become a mole when is raise or frecke when is flat.

I tried ACV, Ammonia, Bleach, Sea salt, Magnesium, H2O2 3%, Castor oil, Sulfur soap 10%, Salysilic Acid 5%, GFS, Essentials Oils.. with not luck.

A week ago I found the Borax and started to drink, take bath, wash my hair, and spray a borax solution in my body and face a few time a day. Burn a lot the first 3 days, the skin get red and dries but after 3 days you can scrub with same borax and death skin peel.

Moles getting smaller, ringworms drying and peeling, hair and scalp, clean and new hair growing, red dots, drying and small, every part of my body is better.

The burning heat , itch and purple skin I had when I walk I did not feel yesterday. So glad this fungus is going away, still taking GFS and next week will start Oregano oil internaly.

Just want to Bless Ted and thanks my favorite web site EC

In herbal medicine, the term bolus is used interchangably with the word suppository. Many herbalists call a suppository made with herbs and an oil that is solid at cool temps and then melts when inserted into the body (vagina, or rectum) a bolus.

Anyone who has used Borax for Rheumatoid arthritis would you answer a quesiton. It is my understanding that using Borax will rid your body of fungus that causes the RA. It will cure RA. Once the Borax has worked which from what I've read takes just a couple of weeks or less, how long do you continue taking it? Do I need to continue taking every month, week, day or what?

Thank you, Rain

I read in the post awhile back about a man that had jock itch for years and washed with borax and it immediately felt better. Well I tried over the counter remedies and was going to go to the doctor to get something because it itching for a couple of months was becoming unbearable.

I tried different oils and it seemed to make the situation feel better, but no real change. I started using ACV and slowly I saw where the area was being cured. However, after dampening my cloth, sprinkling borax on it (the muletrain type), and washing with it, the itch IMMEDIATELY went away. after washing with it twice a day for 2 days, it seemed the entire rash was healed.

I now use borax as a body scrub and have a toenail fungus that I am going to try it on. I am using ACV, and it is slowly going away. But, if it worked that quick on the jockitch, Im sure it will knock out the toe fungus too.

Hi Richard... Ted's Borax remedy entails that you do the following:

* Mix 1/8 tspn(for women) or 1/4 tspn(for men) in one liter of water.

* Drink one liter of this mixture every day for only four days a week. So, that's for days taking the mixture then three days off the mixture every week.

I have mis-read the instructions for taking borax. I have taken 1/8 teaspoon in a glass of water. Instead of in 1 litre of water. Should I be worried about this?

I need clarification on just how much borax weekly and daily. Ted's instructions are 1/8 tsp per liter taken weekly in divided doses throughout the day. Does this mean 1/8 tsp per liter everyday throughout the week or all of it in one day? And only one day. Need clarification if I am going to do it.

Hello: I am newly introduced to the concept of Borax for healing. And many posts that suggest 20 Mule Team Borax, sold in the USA, is for human ingestion, especially because 1/8 tsp is dissolved in 1 liter water. However, I am looking at the 20 Mule Team box now and its side panel specifically states the following:

#1. It's ingredients is Sodium Tetraborate (a synonym for Sodium borate decahydrate or Borax). The box further states it contains no phosphates or chlorine.

#2. The box further states that its contents are not to be taken internally, first aid for ingestion is to drink milk or water/do not induce vomiting, call a physician immediately, not for drug use.

I've got an eMail into 20 Mule Team now to have them further qualify their no ingestion order.

What's the deal? Is 20 Mule Team Borax safe or not safe for ingestion--please provide real reasons why. Thanks.

We've been using 1/3 cup of Borax in a large hair conditioner bottle--filled up the rest of the way with water. It's easy to use in the shower because it has a pump. My sweetheart has a bald spot that's been bugging him and 10 days ago he decided he would start using the Borax for shampoo and Apple Cider Vinegar (diluted) for a hair rinse.

Today he trimmed his hair and we noticed ALOT of hair on his bald spot. I haven't been checking it because I didn't want to jinx anything or bring attention to him using an "alternative" remedy.

It is really working!! Thank you ever so much for this site. I refer to it often.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Based on recommendations I found on the site, yesterday I tried Borax to help relieve my candida issue. I have had long standing bloating caused by the candida. Just to start off, I took a very small amount (maybe 1/20 teaspoon) of 20-mule team borax in 0.75L water, and drank it throughout the day. By about 4pm, I started having A LOT of flatulence that lasted several hours. Didn't smell bad luckily, but had to go home after work and stay there for a while :)

By the end of the evening, my belly felt empty, with none of the pressure or pain that I have come to live with. Unbelievable! I plan on continuing to use borax for my issues. I will work up gently to about 1/8 or 1/4 teaspoon 4 days a week, for a limit time frame. Anyone interested in trying borax, I recommend it, but please read the borax information on this site, and work up the dosage very gently, it is powerful. Thanks Earth Clinic!!

In response to using diatomaceous earth in lieu of boron, I really don't think the two are even close to the same thing. DE is simply the fossilized remains of diatoms, which are a type of algae with hard silica shells; therefore, DE is mostly silica. I believe there is a bit of iron and aluminum also but I'm not positive.

Thanks for relating your experience with borax. I will try it for my poor big toe (not gout)! 1/8 tspn sodium borate in juice per day? Everyone is freaked out by me taking Lugols or suggesting H202. Sodium borate is great for athlete's foot, gone in 2 days, just sprinkle it on.

Hi - Re Borax... I take Boron every day in capsul form. It is amazing for arthritis. I used to have bad hand pain every morning, now I only have it when I have not taken my boron for a few days. I am wondering if Borax and Boron are similar or even the same thing? I am one of those people who has a hard time considering consuming laundry soap. Even in such small amounts, the thought of it is - pardon the pun - hard for me to swallow. ;)

In my opinion anyone with arthritis pain or osteoperosis would do well to look up boron on the search engines. Boron is one of the KEY components for building bone, along with Magnesium, Vitamin D-3 and Calcium. I try to keep my supplimental calcium intake at the lowest level possible and when I do take it it is a 1:1 ratio with Magnesuim. Vitamin D I take at leat 4,000 iu a day. I live in the North, and there is virtually zero sun here in the fall and winter. All I can say is if you have joint pain or bone issues - read up on all of the above - They are amazing! Here is to a Happy and Healthy New Year! Carly

Steve, After I mentioned that borax is said to be less toxic than salt, I decided to look for its MSDS (material safety data sheet) on the internet and compare it to something most people would normal consider safe. I found the MSDS for borax and also Advil (ibuprofen). I thought it would be a good comparison. I'm not sure if you are familiar with MSDS's. They can be pretty scary looking if you are not use to them. Hopefully it will make you feel more confident in trying borax and not scare you. Under section 11 is the toxicological information. Advil has a much more toxic than borax. Advil has a acute oral toxicity (LD50) of 495 mg/kg. Borax oral toxicity (LD50) is 2,400 mg/kg. It takes much less Advil to kill 50 percent of the test animals (rats usually) than it does borax. If I'm doing my math correctly, Advil is almost 5 times more toxic than borax? Anyway, here are the 2 links to the MSDS's:

For borax http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9924967

For Advil
http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9924344

Maybe this will help?

Steve,
I'm sure someone can address this better than I, but I would like to offer my personal experience to you until a better explanation is posted. I too felt very nervous about consuming something that was labeled "not for human consumption. " I remember reading that the toxicity of borax is about the same as is for salt. (I haven't consulted any MSDS's to prove that thought. I believe you could get those over the internet?) Anyway, I finally decided that 1) the dose was small- 1/8th of a teaspoon generally for women, 1/4 of a teaspoon for mean. 2)Even if it wasn't good for me, it was basically just a little bit of soap? Also- not for human consumption doesn't necessarily mean it will hurt you, just that a government agency won't recommend it. That doesn't mean it IS safe, but it may not mean it isn't.

So, I did try the borax for arthritis pain. Reluctantly at first, but I was quite desperate. I have had GREAT results, and NO bad reactions. Within a few days my knee pain (I'm calling it arthritis, but I'm not sure what was all going on in my knees)was greatly improved. It felt like cement breaking up in my knees. I am still using the borax (along with ACV) most days. I take a break from it every once in a while. If I go too long the "cement" and pain in the knees comes back and I start back on the borax and it clears right up. I suggest it to so many people I know that sound like it might help- but so far no one will try it. They just can't get over it not being made for human consumption. Such a shame. I was very close to having to go to an orthopedic surgeon before I tried the borax. I highly recommend it!

About this Borax material. I bought some of the Team Mule brand Borax in the laundry aisle and it warns that it should not be taken internally or used for medicine. I contacted them personally and they do not make any claims for human consumption. I understand that many people are uneasy about taking it because of these reasons. Can you shed any light on this? Are there any mainstream articles referring to the use of this substance? I've tried the pellets but they're quite expensive for what you get. Thanks!

After re-reading my post I need to clarify when I said I would never use Boric Acid I meant - I would never use it internally. As I do not have the skill to neutralize the acid nor would I bother to try when borax (99% or more pure) is available to us.

Hi Brendan, I have taken this brand internally and found it safe. Many years ago I learned from a friend that quite a few people were using it internally after they had been to a Dr. Joel Wallach seminar and in those days that brand even had the label poison on the container. Under our laws as this product is not a poisonous substance it cannot be labeled as such. If a product/substance is deemed poisonous it has to be labeled as poisonous and you can go to the person/company selling it and ask for the MSDS Sheet (Manufacturers Safety Data Sheet) and they are required by law to give it to you. This gives the legal saftey info about the product. Even at the supermarket they will look it up and print one out for you.

My husband recently went to get borax from the supermarket and the Harpers brand is no longer available here and the only one they have is in a green container (hubby & shop assistant spent quite some time looking for it as neither knew it had changed). It has the standard "CAUTION - keep out of reach of children" and in very fine print on the back the poison hot line ph #. This container does not even have a caution about taking it internally. Borax in Australia I think has the saftey rating of S5, which requires it to have "Caution" on the label. Here is a site that has the definitions of these ratings:

Having said all this the dose makes the therapy or the poison. Just as salt has a level that makes it a poison for us so does Borax. Boric Acid is the one that is considered HIGHLY TOXIC for internal use. So I would NEVER use it. Here is a site for some info on boric acid:

All the best in finding what works for you.
