Boric Acid Vs Borax
Posted by Blenderlady (Satellite Beach, Fl) on 01/08/2013

Hello, I see the many warnings to use Borax and NOT Boric Acid - but I can't find any rational for this warning.

From another website on this topic it says, "Boric acid, if available, may be used at about 2/3 the dose of borax" http://www.health-science-spirit.com/borax.htm

I have Boric Acid, and am very eager to get this cleared up... Thanks in advance!

Research

Perhaps such a conspiracy you mention exists, but if it were as pervasive as you suggest, then no articles would be listed on PubMed in support of using borax. In addition, all of the articles I cited originated either from Turkey, Rome, or Thailand, in which case the FDA does not apply.

The research I cited is both supportive and critical of the use of borax/boron. In fact, the articles from Thailand were the only ones I could find to support the notion of "genotoxity. " In addition, the genetic and apoptotic effects observed in Thailand are inferred by its authors to be potentially pathological, whereas such genetic alterations might have a neutral or even positive effect on the individual's immune system. That said, the authors in Thailand provide microscopic images of these effects, and therefore it is difficult to dispute. I take these findings with a grain of salt until such studies can be replicated in a different lab. I also question the toxicity of this substance, since various studies have shown no documented ill effects in borate miners who are constantly exposed to these substances. There do appear to be cases where boron exposure causes spontaneous hair loss and skin eruptions, but this could be due to allergies or various systemic physiological imbalances, such as vitamin/mineral deficiences.

Here are two more articles in support of using borax medicinally:

Borax counteracts genotoxicity of aluminum in rat liver.
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22491726

Preparation and characterization of antimicrobial wound dressings based on silver, gellan, PVA and borax.
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22939352

Borax used to be prescribed medicinally in the United States, and in fact I found this image of a medicine bottle from 1920:

http://archive.org/details/Borax

Not many articles are listed on Pubmed on this topic prior to 1950, however there was one article from 1902 that described (in great detail) the results of the administration of borax and boric acid in children:

ON THE INFLUENCE OF BORIC ACID AND BORAX
UPON THE GENERAL METABOLISM OF CHILDREN.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2235950/pdf/jhyg00321-0017.pdf

I will follow this post with an exhaustive review of the literature on borax for anyone who is interested.

No, not an intentional conspiracy but rather, only formulated substances that can be patented tend to receive funding for clinical trials. The conspiracy is not against Boron but only to maximize profitability for a drug producing and manufacturing company with patentable substances.

And yes, there are published journals for the use of Boron. Most if not all of the medical journals documenting the use of Boron and other natural substances like olive leaf extract, lavender oil are studied by scientists, research physicians and universities but then never make it to mass clinical trials, never officially written into pharmacopeia as effective standard treatments.

Don't let medical Journals dictate 100% of your beliefs. Many doctors I have spoke with even know to be cautious with citing these journals.

With that said, they are useful as published data can show that the substance studied has shown safe and effective in small scale testing or may be supported by other journals also published giving confidence in the substance.

Breathing Issues, Energy

I have been taking the borax for a couple of weeks now. Started very slow because of severe reactions. The reactions died down after a few days and I started to get really positive results in terms of energy. I felt like I had more energy than I have had for years and for the first time in years I was able to exercise, which felt great. I also had less trouble with allergies. However the pain from my endometriosis is much worse and I am due to have my period in a day or so and the pain is almost unbearable. This also happened when I took progestrone cream which is meant to help. I feel really sad because I felt like I was getting my life back. I have read that borax increases estrogen which is not good for endometrosis but I have also read that it should balance estrogen rather than increase it. Can Ted or someone please please help me? Hi Tamis, I have not found that it has any fizz when adding it to cleaning mixes, but of course they are diluted. Anyway I have just added borax to ACV and there is no fizz, have also added it to cheap white vinegar and no fizz. You may have to test it with a ph meter, I got mine for about $15 (AU) including postage via ebay. Good luck.

Boric acid's chemical formula is H3BO3; there is no sodium (Na) in boric acid. The chemical formula for borax is Na2B4O7·10H2O or Na2[B4O5(OH)4]·8H2O. Other names for borax include sodium tetraborate, disodium tetraborate, and sodium borate. Thus, you have gotten your hands on an oddly named version of borax :)

John1230, borax doesn't have a grade, it is 99-100% borax. I can't find the recipe in the ailments or remedies, but put about 1 part borax to 2-3 parts water and pour onto hair and leave in for 10 mins. Lily.

Can I just double check with anyone that can answer-I have recently discovered this site and have read about Borax and so ordered some from ebay. Labelled BORAX (Sodium Tetraborate) -Decahydrate.

This is definitely ok to ingest... At the recommended dosage of 1/8th of a teaspoon per litre of water?

Sounds great-just wanna check there are no dangers. Thanks!

Am I the only one questioning all these remedies coming from one person only? It's great Ted gives his opinion and maybe tried successfully the borax way. I just wonder why there is no other professional opinion (not from pharma paid doctors but alternative health practioners).

I agree many suggestion are great but others I am not sure and it does raise question why everyone would just trust one person and go buy borax in laundry section. At least I've seen a couple of confused peopel on here.

Anyone who has used Borax for Rheumatoid arthritis would you answer a quesiton. It is my understanding that using Borax will rid your body of fungus that causes the RA. It will cure RA. Once the Borax has worked which from what I've read takes just a couple of weeks or less, how long do you continue taking it? Do I need to continue taking every month, week, day or what?

Thank you, Rain

Used borax to treat family for lice. Mixed dishsoap with 1 tbsp of borax to make a shampoo. Used borax in hot water to wash bedding, stuffies. Use dryer. Put borax in spray bottle with hot water to spray carpets and pillows and furniture that couldn't be laundered. Vaccuum. Be careful doing this around crawling babies or small toddlers or pets.

Homeopathy is an energy medicine. It changes the water itself. That is why the more diluted it is, the more power it has. The medicine is in the water/alcohol. Not really in the substance although the substance helps change the water.

Borax helps drying, however, to stop the itch, a tannic acid solution may be needed. A weak one for topical application is 1/2 teaspoon of tannic acid per 1/2 cup of water. It is then applied and the itching should stop within about 2 minutes. To remove the drying after the itch goes away, a couple of more applications maybe needed, then apply moisturizing oil. The oil I use is grape oil mixed with some aloe vera oil, or any appropriate moisturizing skin care oil might be helpful.

The only problem is in some countries, such as Canada, tannic acid is not obtainable. An appropriate substitute such as tea tree oil, lavender oil and some sunflower oil in equal amounts might help. If tannic acid is taken internally a very low dose such as 1/4 per liter of drinking water is free of side effect and further help the SLE conditions also by denaturing them and prevent their spread. I am now currently using borax/tannic acid/ and H2O2 for similar symptoms, and baking soda as in 1/2 teaspoon twice a day in a cup of water will further reduce the symptoms.

Hi :)

This is MAMA,(with Fibromyalgia) and this is to THE_PHOENIX and anyone interested. Thank you very much for all the time you have taken to help me. I haven't been on for a while, and just checked in and read all that you wrote, Wow - thanks! I was sad to hear about your arthritis but then happy to hear that you're doing better. I will tell you why I haven't been on for awhile - I HAVE ALL THIS ENERGY NOW THAT I CAN'T SIT STILL!!!! It's the H202! And I'm sure of it. I have been taking the BORAX too but not as much as I should. I am up to 25 drops of H202 3xday and feeling energy like I did when I was 16!

The muscle pain has not been as good as it was a few weeks ago,I kind of slacked off on the BORAX, maybe I need to step it up again, I can't get on my knees or raise my arms like before - but this energy this is AWESOME. I was also out for a walk in the woods with my husband and he was totally in shock, because normally I don't walk anywhere that I don't absolutely have too cuz I would need to be very careful at what I used my energy up on (which was almost nothing.) The family is really enjoying the better meals too, cuz when I don't feel well- I choose things to prepare that take as little effort as possible (without neglecting nutrition of course).

When I was taking 1/4tsp BORAX, (and I know that Ted says only 1/8 for women)I felt very little pain, so I might have to concentrate on doing both.

Know what? I think I'm really going to be able to beat this, and be able to help encourage other sufferers as you have me. I look very closely at what you recommend any try my best to take your advice (I guess I trust you don't I?)

Well I'm off to make a nice big fancy dinner to welcome in the weekend, and then tomorrow I'll clean the house! Can't believe I just said that!

Thanks again to THE_PHOENIX.

P.S. Any readers out there that suffer from Fibro or Chronic Fatigue - you just have to read up on HYDROGEN PEROXIDE and also BORAX! (and stay away from grains, sugar, and dairy.)

Borax Dosages
Posted by Nicholas (Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire) on 01/30/2010

Hi I have nothing against borax but just so you know what levels are harmful or have adverse effects I wanted to post this abstract from a study in the area. I would be keen to hear feedback, I unfortunatly can't access the study myself without paying to see it. So the limited information I have attained from this study is that you are safe to use borax as long as you can keep the levels at 175 ppm as (boron equivalent).

What sort of dose that is I do not know and would not like to go over it.

Now I have heard it is a great chemical for chelation of metals. Does it also chelate fluorides? This is really my main interest as fluorides are recommended to be kept below a certain level and evidence suggests I would be surpassing this. Not that I would no how to test this to be true.

One last comment the zeolite clinoptilite sounds brilliant for taking the heavy metals, I have done little research into it, all thoughts and responses welcome. Thank you

Here's the abstract:

Abstract

In Sprague-Dawley rats the acute po LD50 values for borax were 4.5 g/kg and 4.98 g/kg in males and females. respectively; boric acid, 3.45 g/kg in males and 4.08 g/kg in females. In Long-Evans male rats the LD50 values for borax and boric acid were 6.08 g/kg and 3.16 g/kg, respectively. In 90 day feeding studies, rats tolerated both borax and boric acid at 525 ppm boron equivalent. Dogs displayed no adverse effect at 175 ppm of borax (as boron equivalent) and 525 ppm of boric acid (as boron equivalent). In rats, high boron levels at 1750 and 5250 ppm of both compounds caused growth suppression, decreased food utilization efficiency, degeneration of gonads and skin desquamation on the paws and tails. At the 1750 ppm level, both boron compounds produced testicular atrophy in all male dogs. Two year dietary feeding studies indicated that both borax and boric acid could be tolerated by rats and dogs at 350 ppm boron equivalent. Rats fed dietary boron compounds at 1170 ppm levels showed toxic signs which were found to be similar to those observed in subchronic studies. Testicular degeneration was also observed in rats and dogs fed 1170 ppm levels. Reproduction studies revealed that rats fed both borax and boric acid at 1170 ppm boron equivalent were sterile. Both compounds at 350 ppm boron equivalent had no adverse effect on fertility, lactation, litter size, weight and appearance.

Hair and Scalp

UPDATE: i have been using borax for several weeks once a week to wash my hair with an ACV rinse and i started getting build up on my hair and scalp.

so i went and got the citric acid of which 1/4 tsp. in a pint of water is recommended to rinse borax away since supposedly vinegar and lime or lemon juice is not strong enough to remove the borax.

after i washed again and used the recommended 1/4 tsp. citric acid in a pint of water and then rinsed again my hair was VERY slimy feeling. and then it took over 5 hours to dry.

the next day it felt limp and coated.

finally i washed again and did a stronger citric acid rinse and had the same problem - slimy, coated hair that refused to dry :(

eventually i clarified my hair using clay and i am now afraid to use the borax because it obviously was building up on my hair.

so if you use this method keep an eye out for the borax building up on your hair. in my hair this was evident by it becoming limper and limper and less shiny and feeling very soft and smoother than usual (at first a good thing LOL) and feeling like i had coated it in fabric softener.

then i had little white hard things coming out of my scalp as well as a weird waxy coating on my brush bristles when i would brush.

It is possible borax is helping rattie if he has demodex mites in his hair follicles. Dogs and humans have demodex mites. In dogs it causes mange. Borax kills the mites. They come out of hair follicles to breed at night. They itch like crazy and can even cause rosacea in humans it is said. People are allergic to the mites droppings in the hair follicles or even the mite itself as it dies in the follicle.

Dear Phil:

Get any multiple vitamin and mineral supplements that have boron. The ingredients will likely be borax, but they will use chemical names, which is still the same thing. Sodium tetraborate, and other synonyms.

I used to moonlight as an industrial chemist and we used borax as the main ingredients for the boron supplements that you take in your mineral and vitamin supplements. A borax is a boron.

As to the schools, I don't subscribe to any schools as my training were a knowledge I gained from observations and studies in anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, chemistry and microbiology. I am what you call as conventional as you can get and it's application directly applies from these hard sciences. These other healing practices, that conflicts with me is most likely didn't know that borax and boron are actually the same thing. It's an essential mineral.

As to your questions of dark stool, the borax flushes out dead blood cells and other toxic substances, such as fluoride. Hence the black dark color is gone the next day. It also gets rid of excessive calcium out of the tissue, giving more muscular mobility, hence the dryness of the stool. Since I prescribe to none of the school the one theory I have is based on basics in biology, which is a concern about the body achieving balance, or homeostasis (in biology), equilibrium (in nature), symbiosis (in life), conservation (in nature), the middle path (in Buddhist philosophy), the balance between Yin and Yang(Chinese philosophy and Tibetan medicine), optimization (in economics and production and operations management) are some of the examples when we used differences in our language schema of things, but the general philosophy is one and the same, to achieve balance.

My approach is basically simple, that you can follow, which is basically common sense, insight, observation and principles that people can go prove to themselves. In healing arts the one thing that can never lie to you is your body. regardless of what every one says. I did conduct seminar years ago as part of college event where we can talk on any topics, which basically discusses my approach toward the healing arts. However, people were more interested in perfumery, stock markets, or subprime mortgage, or laser surgery hence the course was discontinued, from lack of students. I can't blame them, these students are healthy, so the interests in healing arts are not popular here.

As a side note, my formula which uses of 30% salicylic acid in a lotion, with 1% aloe vera oil works many times better than laser surgery on scar tissue. But customers by nature are more interested in technology rather than efficacy. It seems that marketing has overshadow the issue of health.

I hope this answers some of your questions and I am certain I didn't address all of your questions. You just have to understand that websites, doctors, and lawyer have something in common with musical artists. You can have a bad music artist or you have a good music artist. Their abilities from one person to the next are not the same. If they were, Britney Spears or Elvis Presley could never become that popular. LOL.

Hi, its recommended that only citric acid is powerful enough to remove borax from the hair.

Here is the section on diy borax shampoo by

Dr Hulda Clarke (Ph.D., N.D)

'The cure for all diseases' page 528 (free ebook)

"Shampoo

Borax liquid is ready to use as shampoo, too. It does not lather but goes right to work removing sweat and soil without stripping your color or natural oils. It inhibits scalp bacteria and stops flaking and itching. Hair gets squeaky clean so quickly (just a few squirts does it) that you might think nothing has happened! You will soon be accustomed to non-lathery soap.

Rinse very thoroughly because you should leave your scalp slightly acidic. Take a pint container to the shower with you. Put ÂÂ1/4 tsp. citric (not ascorbic) acid crystals (see Sources) in it. For long hair use a quart of rinse. Only citric acid is strong enough to get the borax out, lemon juice and vinegar are not.

After shampooing, fill the container with water and rinse.

Rinse your whole body, too, since citric acid is also anti-bacterial. All hair shampoo penetrates the eye lids and gets into the eyes although you do not feel it. It is important to use this natural rinse to neutralize the shampoo in your eyes.

(Some people have stated that citric acid makes their hair curlier or reddens it. If this is undesirable, use only half as much citric acid.) Citric acid also conditions and gives body and sheen to hair."

Re: the borax page. Could you update with information on the time period involved? ie how long is it safe or recommended to take the borax & h202 in water cure?

I have a sore recurring (monthly) rash on my abs and neck. When taking the borax and h202 remedy for about 6 weeks, the rash was rapidly reducing over a few months in total, to the point of thinking that it had gone. But then it came back with full force. I'll try again, but how long is safe?

With thanks.

Boric Acid Vs Borax

I hope this message finds you very well. May I suggest you to change the heading underneath the BORAX remedy in your website: Boric Acid is not a synonym of Borax! It took me 2 days to find out my mistake: I have been drinking a solution of Boric Acid instead of Borax and I even made my husband to drink it... There is Sulfuric Acid added to Borax, then it is not a synonym for Borax.

We feel all right but please change your heading. I was a bit stupid and despaired and I didn't verify that information. The trouble is stupidity and despair is sadly common nowadays.

Rash
Posted by Grace (Wi) on 05/19/2015

In Nov. 2013, took a sulpha based antibiotic, due to cellulitis diagnosis, ended up w/reaction, that looked like steven johnson syndrome, mixture of rash w/a burn. Reaction continued for weeks, finally went to dermatologist, did biopsy, confirmed, drug reaction rash, only thing is given topical steroids, and strong benydryl. I initially used steroids but as soon as I stopped the rash would return, from what I read common cycle so I decided to look for other remedies.

I took some advice from Tony Pantelleresco, he suggested this bath:

1/4 cup borax, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup tri-sodium phospahte(TSP)in stores they are labeling products as TSP but it is not, be sure to read label and if in doubt call the makers of product to confirm it is pure Tri sodium phosphate, as much epsom salt as I wanted, also add some Dmso(start small, cap full or two, and increase to your comfort level), some iodine(pottasium iodide) as hot as I could stand it. as long as I could take it. I did these baths to begin with 2x's a day, when infection was at worst. this is the only thing that brought relief.

if no TSP, just do what u have available

Before I started baths, I asked Drs. if they thought baths would be ok, both drs. thought hot water would not be good, dry out skin..

I would experiment w/different ingredients w/time in bath, ACV, urine, as time went on.

I decided to work on my digestive flora, drank kefir daily(homegrown), increased all b supplement b50, b12, biotin, juiced carrots, read teds suggestions for Steven Johnson Syndrome (SJS). Acupucture, read book by Joe Dispenza, on You are the Placebo, Making the Mind Matter, this helped.

5 months skin clear but returned on arms 1 month after, then did hot & cold baths on arms and continued full salt baths 2-4 x's a week.

Also decided to stay away from grains, and sugar. I always kept looking read what ted says and be willing to experiment to figure what works for you.

As of today, I am clear of rash

Maybe your reaction is not as bad as mine, which was all over the front of my body, even spread to my face. these are some of the things that really helped me.

I know it is hard but you will get better, just keep looking for what works for you. You will get better.

This may be because of die off symptoms and clogging of the detoxing organs. If we have "reactions" to natural elements its typically from not preparing the body prior to eliminate what we are about to fight.

Many people develop serious rashes from laundry detergent, Millie, so assuming that bathing in laundry detergent is safe, may not be a safe assumption. The borax used in your bath salts is not the safe borax that the supermarket sells. The borax used in bath salts is an emulsifier and fizzer, and contains absolutely no detergent. I haven't personally used any borax for health, since I haven't had a need for it, so I can't comment from personal experience. Just for fun, do some more research online or go to the Mountain Herb website and read the breakdown of their borax product which is probably comparable to any cosmetic grade of borax. I think that grade of product is probably safer for bathing in than laundry detergent.

Several years ago, I went in for my annual exam, and was told that they couldn't do a PAP because I had a yeast infection. I was dismayed -- "but I always have one", I said. The Doctor, bless his heart said that he would prescribe boric acid boluses for me. He prepared them himself and they were available from a pharmacy down the street. I protested a little that nothing ever worked for me, EVER... not permanently anyways.

He told me that he had never seen a repeat case in anyone that he had prescribe the boluses to. Well, I used them and guess what? It's been four years with no yeast infections! I will never use the stupid cream stuff again. If I ever need to, I may make the boluses myself using the cosmetic grade borax and cocoa butter. But -- I haven't had to and hopefully won't!

They are two different things but both work the same way. Boric acid is twice as strong, normally 22% boron. Boric acid is banned in Australia since 80's but was used on me to heal an infection when I was a kid by my grandfather (dr). I use Borax (eat it, wash in it, wash hair, brush teeth) MMS (chlorine Dioxide and the Bob Beck Protocol. Alkaline green raw juice (dr Robert Young) also works in the same way when you understand it all and you should try to learn about them all, I would encourage you anyway. Think for yourself. It is hard to unlearn

So, I had been wondering this same thing, and I think I figured it out. This is based on nothing more than speculation however I believe that Boric Acid is what people are referring to using vaginally, and Borax internally (uhhh.. by mouth. lol.. I guess technically they are both internally, but you know what I mean). One of the big differences is that one is acidic (like the vagina) and the other is alkaline. I'd recommend just using Boric Acid vaginally since it has such a well proven track record. My guess is that some people aren't aware they are two different things and are inaccurately using Borax in place of Boric Acid. Just a guess. Internally (by mouth) Borax is supposed to help clear up candida though so I'm sure using both at the same time should help clear it up from the symptom location (vagina) and the root location (intestinal track).

Just my thoughts but I could be wrong.

I use about a tablespoon of borax disowned in about 2 cups of warm water. In the shower then pour the borax solution onto scalp. I scrub and let sit in scalp for five minutes then wash out. Pretty simple.

By the way...I've always found EC so easy to navigate.

Hello to all you who love this site as much as I do -Just answered my own question for Ted. Just printed out MSDS on 20 Mule Team Borax which gives its chemical formula as Na2B4O710H2O (sorry, apologize for not being able to get this computer to properly type chemical formulas) but it proceeds to give chemical names/synonyms: sodium tetraborate decahydrate, disodium tetraborate decahydrate, borax decahydrate, Borax 10 Mol

Goes on to say "this product contains greater than 99% sodium tetraborate decahydrate" and repeats the chemical formula again. I take this to mean that Borax and 20 Mule Team Borax found in the laundry section of the grocery store in 3 lb. carton for about $4 to be one and the same. If any chemist out there knows different, please speak up.

Hello Yvonne,

The website fenbendazole.org has a page for suppliers. There are several options listed there that hopefully will work for you.

I originally learned about fenbendazole and its use for eliminating cancer at the website mycancerstory.rocks. Joe Tippens and many others used the fenbendazole sold as a parasite medication for dogs. However, you can now get pure fenbendazole powder if you prefer that.

Hi Ted, and anyone else out there, firstly I'd like to thank you for this wonderful website and the help it's providing to so many!

I wanted to know if borax at the 1/8 teaspoon in 1 lt of water taken 3 days and/or for 4 is too much for an elderly person?

My mum is 87 yrs suffering from chronic arthritis and pneumonia, last year we thought we would lose her at the hands of the hospital due to the excessive amounts of drugs. I would like to try it with her before winter returns.

The reason I ask is I know it's highly alkaline and Dr Sircus mentions in his book for Bicarb therapies not to take more than 3 x 1/2 teaspoon bicarb per day if over 60. ( I assumed it was due to the alkalinity) and wondered if it's the same with Borax.

Many thanks.

As for me, I've suffered for over 15 years now from Ricketzzia, micoplasma pneumonia, and an explosion of candida (which doctors couldn't be bothered to diagnose). I found that with so many antifungals like olive leaf extract, colloidal silver, and even the bicarbonate didn't complete the job. The problem was chronic.

After 3 day of taking borax as prescribed: 1/8 teaspoon in 1 lt of water in 1 day for 3 days, I already feel brand new. I will repeat next week and possibly for a third if needed, then I'll go onto the maintence dose.

God Bless you guys, I wish I had found you sooner!

Maria

Years ago a homeopathic doctor prescribed the cayenne pepper caps for my husband. But he did explain that if you do not put at least a small amount on your tongue first to tell your brain to prepare your stomach for it that it can cause a bad burning in your stomach. The easiest way was tomato juice or v-8 or even better v-8 spicy. Just half a cup at most and add just a small pinch of the pepper. Drink that and then take your pepper caps with water. It made a world of difference.

Borax Dosage Per Sip

★★★★★

Ever wondered about the exact amount of boron you're consuming with each sip of Ted's recommended borax solution? We've got the insights you need! For a moderate sip, estimated at around 15 ml, you can expect to ingest approximately 1.7 mg of boron from the men's solution (mixed with ¼ teaspoon of borax per 1 liter of water) and roughly 0.84 mg from the women's solution (1/8 teaspoon of borax per 1 liter of water).

And just how many sips does a 1-liter bottle hold? The answer is about 67 sips. This breakdown helps you gauge your boron intake more precisely, ensuring you stay within Ted's recommended dosage, whether you're sipping throughout the day or planning your intake more strategically.

I followed the link to the video page, it took me to youtube, and also youtube have deemed this content as breaching guidlines.... incredibly sad isn't it, that borax has been demonised by big pharma and all others must comply.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hi all,

I'm implementing boron to heal from chronic candida. I started with Borax (made the solution of 1/8 teaspoon per liter of water). I got through a liter over the course of five days, could not take any more than that. Kidney pain, headache, nausea, diarrhea, depression but also improvement in candida condition.

I'd rather take Boron but the article I read by Walter Last is that he doesn't expect it works against Candida, as it's not in ionic form. Would taking an ionic form of Boron work??

Feeling thrilled and defeated... as I really want this to work and feel this is the answer. Does anybody have success with the Boron tablets, or ionic Boron?

Borax Soaks
Posted by Art (California) on 08/26/2019 2147 posts

Uncertain from La.,

Borax is poorly absorbed through the skin. It can possibly help arthritis of the hands by soaking the hands, but the feet are harder to penetrate the skin layers. The little that be absorbed through the hands and feet is not likely to be enough to affect other areas of the body such as the hips or spine. I use the oral route and dose as Ted recommended and it has been nothing short of a miracle for me!

Hello, I want to point out that according to https://www.aqua-calc.com/calculate/weight-to-volume 1000 mg equalts 0.12 tsp or close to 1/8 tsp and not 1/4 tsp as mentioned "¼ teaspoon (940 mg ~ 1,000 mg) of borax" in your article. "The density of borax is 1.73 gram/cm^3. A gram therefore has a volume of 0.58 cm^3. However a teaspoon is 5cm^3. Therefore 1 gram of borax is about a tenth of a teaspoon. Or if you prefer: 1 teaspoon full of borax is about 9 gram" So 1/4 tsp should have approx. 226 mg of boron. Please advise if you agree. Thank you, Christine

Hello Charity,

Where did I read but to take borax and LI together? Earth Clinic. But not from Ted, I believe it was much respected Bill (apologies if I am wrong) who replied to a post asking about how one can do different protocols at once. I didn't find that particular post, and in fact Ted posts show a few posts where he has asked about both remedies, he never posted a warning. But it makes sense to me, if borax can detox fluoride, bromine, it can likely displace another halide, iodine. So I stopped using borax and only use Iodine. I did find this link, however, with borax referenced as antidote to iodine at bottom of this page. I am interested in others thoughts also.

Borax Interaction With Other Supplements

Hi Teena, As I remember this, it was a good number of years ago that I was taking both iodine and borax in the morning together. Then one day, Bill posted how oxidants and antioxidants just cancel each other out, and borax and iodine should NOT be taken together. I have kept them apart from that day on. I often wonder if other supplements I take fall into that same category because I don't know what is an antioxidant and what is an oxidant. I have often thought that a list could be beneficial for this reason. Maybe someone with more knowledge could post something on this. I have always appreciated that information from Bill.

Hi Art,

I have tried to find the comment from Bill but haven't been successful. I researched what you are saying, and it seems to be correct, although I did see reference to iodine as a possible oxident in some cases(?), which I did not understand. I have also read that taking small amounts of iodine can leave the body in a state of inflammation, so I have backed off taking it for now, until I get a better understanding of how it works. My latest thyroid test had an inflated TSH value which I read on the Stop the Thyroid Madness site can be caused iodine, and is harmless. Since I take the LDN, I thought perhaps my thyroid was normalized and had not been taking any natural thyroid meds regularly, just iodine occasionally, but have stopped the iodine and now take a low dose of Armour. Currently trying the Remag/Remyte solutions to try to build bone mass, along with D/K2. Thinking about adding ashwagandha for sleep, but think I read some reason that I should NOT take it, but can't remember why. Thank you for your always insightful comments and your willingness to share all that you have researched with everyone to help us find solutions to health questions and problems. Not many people have your research skills and tenacity to find answers!

Long Term Use of Borax
Posted by Bill (Philippines) on 02/04/2024

Hi Bern,

I just used this Borax form to calculate the amount of Boron per dose:

Borax Na2B4O7

Sodium content = 22.99 x 2 = 45.98 (Atomic Mass X 2) etc.

Boron content= 10.81 x 4 = 43.24

Oxygen content = 16.00 x 7 = 112.00

Molar Mass of Borax = 201.22 (I'm calculating the molar mass from the anhydrous form of borax since the water in the decahydrate and pentahydrate forms become irrelevant whenever borax is dissolved in water)

So the % Boron in 1 mole of Borax = 43.24 / 201.22 * 100 = 21.49%

That means that 1/4 teaspoon(=1000mgs) of Borax will contain 21.49/100 X 1000 = 214.9mgs of Borax.

And 1/8 teaspoon(500mgs) of Borax will contain 21.49/100 x 500 = 107.45mgs of Borax.

So, as you can see, these amounts are fairly high doses of borax, which is why -- if you are following Ted's Borax Water protocol -- you would make sure to drink the one liter of water + borax throughout the day and take this remedy on a 4 days on and 3 days off basis.

Dr Rex Newnham -- the Aussie researcher who actually discovered and used borax to cure his own and other peoples serious arthritis problems only took 30 mgs of borax twice a day for a total of 60mgs borax per day everyday. He also admits that he was effectively taking only about 6 mgs boron per day. But even that small dose was enough to completely cure the serious arthritis problem he had in his hands in only three weeks.

You can also try Walter Last's more dilute and gentle Daily Borax Protocol if you prefer.

Long Term Use of Borax
Posted by Bill (Philippines) on 02/05/2024

I need to correct two errors from my last post on this thread, with apologies.

The end result of my calculations in my last post should have read like this(with all corrections in bold):

So the % Boron in 1 mole of Borax = 43.24 / 201.22 * 100 = 21.49%

That means that 1/4 teaspoon (=1000mgs) of Borax will contain 21.49/100 X 1000 = 214.9mgs of boron.

And 1/8 teaspoon (500mgs) of Borax will contain 21.49/100 x 500 = 107.45mgs of boron.

Now I take a boron 3mg tablets and by this is ok and also it makes bigger my free testosteron- just once a day I take it. Thank you, Ivan.

A half gallon of water won't hold a half cup of borax but, STILL - you're absolutely right. It's STILL a whole LOT of borax! I use a teaspoon in 500 ml and just squirt a very small amount of that in a glass of water, once or twice a day. I don't know how much that is per day - I doubt it's even a half teaspoon - but even using small amounts of that same bottle to massage my feet a couple times, it will probably last me about a month.

I just started but even that small amount gave me loose stools a couple of times. When I added that little drizzle to water twice in the same day. Or...maybe it was on days I massaged my feet - hadn't thought of that...of course, I don't have any "issues" at the moment, other than letting the plantar warts on my feet come back a bit so I can try a sort of "leave-on" ascorbic acid/coconut oil scrub/mask I've been thinking about on them...

This subject of boron and borax is very interesting. In regards to the lack of boron in foods you were asking about, I think it is due to not using our effluent in the soil and not burying the dead in the soil where we grow food. I have a friend who made a mix of his effluent (urine and stools), left it in the sun (covered) for 6 weeks then used it on his crops and miracles happened, that knocked everyone's socks off. We are missing out on all this and polluting our waters by dumping our effluent into the sea. We are supposed to be intelligent creatures but one would wonder sometimes. Cheers!

Hi Cheryl,

I am sorry for you and your husbands illness. One thing that stood out to me when reading your question was the fact the he consumes a huge amount of Coke. Soft drinks are well known to be health destroyers. If there was any way to curb this habit hopefully he would feel better. Interestingly enough, I attended a nutrition lecture last night given by Dr. Denice Holtzman on just this very subject. If weaning him off Coke is not possible, look for the Coke that is bottled in Mexico. I know! I was shocked by this also, but apparently Mexico forbids the use of many artificial ingredients including sweeteners as well as GMO's. (genetically modified organisms) Who Knew?

I hope you find this useful and your husband regains his health.

Lecithin is an emulsifier, meaning it binds the oils together with water into creamy consistency. This lecithin also when taken orally will pull oil out your body (Oil pulling ). Also a lil FYI : Walgreens sells a name brand called shea moisture, their products all organic, no parabans or sulfates. Find it at the ethnic isle. Not as cheap as regular shampoos but not too expensive either. And if you go from now until February 28th it's buy one get 2nd at 50% off. I love the coconut hibiscus line.
