Borax: Unlocking the Health Benefits of a Natural Compound

Plantar Wart
Posted by DL (NC) on 10/23/2022

Add Ted's borax remedy to the list as a permanent cure for a stubborn small plantar wart! I used the popular banana peel cure a number of times over the years and it works immediately at shrinking it. I almost went away each time I used a banana peel for a few days, but only to grow back a month or two later... It was not very big, just a tiny bump on the bottom center of my foot. Well I just realized that, along with borax totally curing my trigger finger and arthritis, my plantar wart is also gone! Not sure how long it took as I wasn't monitoring my foot.. guessing a month or two.

1/4 teaspoon of borax in 1 liter of water, sipped throughout the day. Read the borax page for more details if you don't know about this protocol.

Boron Drops - How to Make
Posted by hands and wrists (Joshua Tree, CA) on 05/07/2022
★★★★★

1 ml = 20 drops, so 100 ml = 2000 drops.

For 1 drop to equal 6 mg of Boron, 2000 drops must have 12000 mg of Boron or 1.2g. But Borax is not pure Boron. 25 to 30 mg of Borax contains 3 mg of Boron.

To make the calculation simpler I will choose 30 mg. That means 1 mg of Boron is contained in 10 mg of Borax. We need 1.2 g of Boron, which is in 12 g of Borax. You need 12g of Borax per 100 ml of water. I'm not sure that much Borax will dissolve in that much water. If not, add another 100 ml of water. Then you will have to use 2 drops to get your 6 mg of Boron.

Antoine,

In his original post, Jon mentioned Borax, sodium tetraborate (the chemical name for borax) and that he is in Arizona, USA. Those mentions would very strongly suggest he was using 20 Mule Team Borax, which is very commonly available in the US, but not so much in the UK. Here is a link to the product here in the US :

https://www.20muleteamlaundry.com/

I am pretty sure that it is banned in the UK, but seems to be available on ebay UK as indicated here :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1311&_nkw=20+mule+borax&_sacat=0

The obvious downside is that the shipping cost is significantly more than the product and there could potentially be a problem with getting it through customs. If you are not able to get 20 Mule Team Borax, you may be interested in another alternative for atherosclerosis, which Jon said he was using the Borax for, as I discussed here :

https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/grape-seed-extract-atherosclerosis.html

While the selection of this particular supplement on Amazon UK is not huge by any means, it appears to be available :

Hi..

Is it possible that your pains are due to the detox effect?
And maybe you should reduce your intake of Borax to the smaller amounts?

Psoriatic Arthritis
Posted by Art (California) on 07/13/2022 2146 posts

Russ,

I think it took me "about 3 months" to get to complete remission, but I started to notice benefit within the first month. It's been so long since then, but I think my hips were the first place I noticed some benefit and then other joints followed shortly after. I had so many joints with pain from my neck to my toes that it is impossible to remember the exact order of relief, but ultimately I got to complete remission. I could no longer squat down to the ground with out a lot of pain and I could only get back up by grabbing on to something and pulling myself up with my hands and arms.

I hope you find the same benefit as I did, but please come back and update us. I am the only person who I have ever seen that was able to put PA into remission with borax so your feedback would be very useful for others. I still take borax at Ted's dosing schedule for men.

Borax Dosages
Posted by Cher (Norfolk) on 01/31/2021

I've been reading on the second page of these posts that one poster said he felt Borax supplies 75 mg in a 1/8 tsp--but Dr. Newnham said "...40-60 grams was a dangerous dose and children had been killed with much smaller doses...... So I took 30 mg of borax twice daily, this was 6 mg of elemental boron a day and in a week the pain was less, in ten days the pain was less. In three weeks the pain, swelling and stiffness had all gone, so I stopped taking the borax. A year later the pain and swelling returned so I took more borax and in two weeks all was right again."

It seems that if 75 mg is 1/8 of a tsp, but Dr N. took 60, forgive my math (it's horrible) but wouldn't that mean you should be taking less than 1/8 to get 60 mg (his 30 mg 2x a day)??? So why is everyone taking so much more than he researched and recommended? Pls explain. I am all ears and I don't want to take too much or risk poisoning myself!! Tnx

Thank you so much Art for your reply.

I took a “maintenance” dose of borax just to try it out. I thought it made my upper gums turn white which made me nervous. I did just have some dental work done so that may have contributed also but was not sure. Otherwise I had no issues. Not prepared yet to take Ted's complete dose yet. I will be doing it in small doses. I think I might have had a few hot flashes also.

This is not true. The underneath of the feet are tender and do absorb. This is a well-known detox pathway in Chinese! Wrapping the feet at night and putting on socks to sleep in is also highly used. Such as with a raw onion tapped under the foot or Vicks Vapor Rub.

Are you taking adequate magnesium? Borax & Magnesium work in tandem. Boron helps to mobilise calcium, especially inappropriate calcium deposits, but it needs to be ‘orchestrated' with Magnesium. It's worth taking some K2 also. And getting your Vitamin D level checked.

Multiple Cures

That's wrong! 1 teaspoon is about 4 gram which is 4000 milligram. So, a third tsp is about 1400 mg and not 140... cheers

EC: David's calculation is more or less correct. The confusion is borax powder vs boron.  Borax powder is about 11.3% boron, meaning a ¼ teaspoon contains approximately 113 mg of boron.

Therefore, 1/3 teaspoon of borax contains approximately 150.67 mg of boron.

Hmm. Maybe I am doing my math wrong. But if you use half a cup of the borax water you are making (1/2 gallon water plus one cup borax) then you are getting 1/16th of the cup of borax, which is a Tablespoon of borax at lunch daily. That is 12 times Ted's recommended dose for men daily. Ted recommends 1/4 teaspoon daily for men.

The weird feeling sounds similar to restless leg syndrome. This can be caused by fluoride. Borax detoxes fluoride. Agree you could be detoxing too fast and need to reduce your dose of borax. Magnesium citrate is the best form of mag to take to avoid possible diarrhea. Helps calm muscle spasms or need to keep moving.

Hello LadyofMars,

Not sure where you are getting your information. Per our article on borax: https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/borax.html#intro

"Borax powder is about 11.3% boron, meaning a ¼ teaspoon contains approximately 113 mg of boron. Ted from Earth Clinic recommends a daily dose of ¼ teaspoon of borax in 1 liter of water for men and 1/8 teaspoon of borax in 1 liter for women. This equates to men consuming about 113 mg of boron daily while women consume around 56 mg daily."

I'm not sure about flushing out fungus - someone with more knowledge on that could better advise you.

However, I add one level teaspoon of Borax to one liter of water and use that as my concentrate, from which I take 20mls, twice daily, in a glass of water. Lesser amounts, I found, didn't seem to have any effect on my system - but then again, my body has been very ill for just over ten years, so perhaps it takes a bit more for someone like me.

As for hair loss, have you tried dispensing with commercial hair products and instead, using your Borax 'Concentrate' to wash your hair with? (You can make up a separate bottle of the concentrate for washing hair to leave in the bathroom.)

Of course, it doesn't lather, but it does feel slippery when you pour it onto wet hair, so you know where it is when you touch your scalp.

Just let it sit in your hair for a moment or so (or you can 'scrub' if you like as you would with shampoo), and then rinse thoroughly.

After that, rinse with the same dilution of citric acid in water (1 level teaspoon in 1 liter of water) and pour over scalp and hair.

Rinse out the citric acid 'rinse' - and you're good to go.It's a lot less fuss than commercial products and a lot less damaging to scalp, hair, eyes and skin.

Is he getting enough water to balance out the Borax since it is normally consumed with a liter of water? If not perhaps you should consider a smaller amount in his hot chocolate. I'm also wondering if your getting him to take magnesium as well, which he should for both the Borax and the heart (if I recall correctly).

Hi Steph from Los Angeles,

I suggest either spraying your 50/50 mixture on your scalp 15 minutes before showering (& maybe shampooing?) and then rinsing off with a mug or two of "nice" water with a teaspoon of lemon juice in it. OR spraying the same 50/50 mixture on 5 minutes after having shampooed and then rinsing off as above.

Someone on this site also suggested massaging the scalp for many minutes to stimulate it and get the blood flowing etc.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

After checking one of the other links about the effect on Candida, I now understand why this body is feeling currently worse. The mucus, pain in hand and finger joints, spinal stenosis symptoms of pinched nerves affecting neck, eyes, nose, ears, arms, skull (massive pain), depression etc. etc. - all part of the detox. I'm glad I read that as I had a feeling these are CURRENTLY detox symptoms and I'm prepared to continue until the boron in the Borax finally works, as I need a job. I'm 63. My meditation also gives relief to the pressure. Not a cure, but helps. Taking pressure off the mind takes pressure off the body.

Another place to get it in Oz is at Bunnings - same brand.

Good to read all this feedback on the effect of boron. I'm so grateful I finally discovered the info online. It gives hope.

Thank you all and I wish success - no more suffering and pain to you all.

Elizabeth

Hi, Do you know what you have? I heard "Virgin" Coconut oil in your food and on your skin is amazing for excema. Coconut water too. It is an amazing skin healer. I've had tons if skin issues myself. Tea tree oil/olive oil put that on skin around 40 drops to 7 to 8 oz of olive oil each night and day. Rub in It absorbs. Also try skin brushing and something g that amazingly cured me of psoriasis was " royal jelly" they come in small pellets and are just a derivative of honey. They have sooo much vitamin B's and it heals skin. Good luck.

Borax Scent
Posted by Rebel (Somewhere, Usa) on 07/30/2014

I have seen a lot of posst on here about BORAX now being scented in many markets. I also read, where some guy that was promoting borax as an arthritis cure, said to stock up on it, as soon it would be removed from shelves.... Sorry for not having that source to list, I read so much it is impossible for me to add everything to my favorites and list.

Just my opinion, maybe the company that makes the borax is coming under fire from some outside source and is being encouraged to add fragrance to the product now. I have been able to still get 100% all natural 20 mule team at my area grocery stores, but any day that could end. I don't think they would quit making the stuff or selling it, but adding fragrance may be a way to discourage internal use.

I want to buy several boxes to put up, but not sure how or where to store it long term. We have to continue to think ahead of them, because no sick people equals no money for them. So I would strongly encourage people that have access to the 100% all natural to stock up on it as soon as possible.

I just started making my own dishwasher detergent with Borax (Mule Team) and Arm & Hammer Washing Soda, and was about to make a batch of Laundry detergent using the same ingredients, Now I read that I should not be using Borax ( especially in Dishwasher ) because it could be leeching into my dishes therefore my food and making us sick... Can someone PLEASE calm my fears? Or at least tell me the real truth? Trying to be green and healthy as well as save money.

Also, if Bleach was accidently mixed with a detergent that I didn't know had ammonia in it, (another homemade cleaner),could it have damaged my or whomever used it lungs, and would the symptoms show immediately? Daughter has been sick for a month with lung issues, and now I am thinking back to that homemade bathroom cleaner, she does have allergies, and it is that season at our house, dust, pets, pollens etc.. So maybe I am just panicking...

Hi Richard... Ted's Borax remedy entails that you do the following:

* Mix 1/8 tspn(for women) or 1/4 tspn(for men) in one liter of water.

* Drink one liter of this mixture every day for only four days a week. So, that's for days taking the mixture then three days off the mixture every week.

I would appreciate any comments on this. I am a 50 year old women that is estrogen dominant and have candida. I am 30 pounds over weight, that will not budge. I also suspect low thyroid, as my basal temperature is in the low 95 degree range in the mornings. I have been taking the ACV with baking soda and 1/8 teaspoon borax daily for a week now, I was previously just taking the ACV and baking soda. I have had a slight headache, which is unusual for me. I have been feeling great with a lot of extra energy and a much more positive attitude and outlook on life. The most exciting part is that I am losing about 4 ounces in body weight each day. I was hoping someone could comment on this. I will continue this routine, as I think it will greatly improve my health.

another update!!!

ok so i started using the borax again since everything else i have tried, eggs, my soap bars, all leave residue on my hair.

what i've found is that if i put 1 tsp. of borax in a pint of warm water and stir it up good and then use it to wash it works great - with no build up!

and i can still use my ACV rinse - 1 tsp. ACV in a pint of warm water!

i think the key is to rinse very well after the borax and then leave the acid rinse on for a few minutes.

citric acid did not work at all for me :(

also the saturated solution built up on my hair very fast - but at this dilution (perhaps because it is not totally saturated) does not appear to be building up on my hair or my scalp.

and i occasionally use this same measurement on my rattie boy if he gets itchy!!!

Borax in Japanese is called hosha. (Many Japanese don't know how to read the character for this, but it's HO-U in katakana and sha is the kanji for sand (suna). The cost at Amazon is 924 yen for 500 grams.

Or...you can go to http://www.tougeishop.com/item/tougei_genryou/t0804/t0804034.htm and order 1 kg for 609 yen. It seems to be the same thing, and you can use it for washing clothes, washing your hair, etc. But for consumption, probably the type from Amazon would be better. Good luck!

Hi there,

I had similar problems the first time I used Dr Bronners soap: my hair felt like one big stuck together mass. I wanted to cry I was so upset. Then I used the vinegar rinse (just a splash of white vinegar in some tap water) and my hair smoothed out perfectly. From what I've read, it's a PH problem, so I'm assuming that would be the same with the Borax.

For the record, I tried the castille/vinegar combo out of desperation with my frizzy hair. I don't notice a big difference between my hair with the various high priced shampoo and conditioners I was trying, so I'll stick with the castille/vinegar. At least I know what's in it!

I just mixed 4 TBSP organic extra virgin coconut oil with 2 TBSP 20 Mule Team Borax and made some boluses with molds that hold I'm guessing 1/4-1/3 TBSP each. They're in the freezer now and I plan to use them, once daily, for 2 weeks and then 2x/wk for 6-12 months if needed after that. I also started taking 1/8 TSP Borax in water today and will do 5 days on and 2 days off. Oh, and I put 1 TSP in 16 oz of distilled water along with 1 TSP of a 1:1:1 salt:baking soda:xylitol mix I use to irrigate my sinuses. I have Lyme and chronic yeast/fungal issues from all the antibiotics I've been on. Plus, I'm taking good probiotics. Will check in with progress but I couldn't find a recipe for the borax boluses so I just guessed at it. I know boric acid might make more sense but I have the borax on hand. Having high hopes for borax in general and very grateful for this site and all the contributors. Thank you, EC!

HI U BROOKE, , , , , , , , , when the term saturated appears, it means that the solution can no longer absorb any more . Take yo sweet tea. It can only take so much sugar, and the rest goes to the bottom of the glass. It can only get so sweet for the temperature and that's the reason Southern folks sweeten their tea when it's hot so it's super saturated when ice is added. It's a Redneck thing.

I can't speak for Ted, but I think he meant for you to add Borax until it would no longer be absorbed and the crystals would end up in the bottom of the jar. The supernate, or clear part, would them be saturated.

I'm just a passer by, but I think you just need to use your common sense. You have a trail, so follow it. You want instant success and that does not always happen. Just get started and you will find success.

You need more borax than that. Mix a half TSP of borax with a half-tsp of baking soda (not baking powder). Put the resulting powder in a cup or saucer and have it handy. Get your daughter's hair sopping wet. Wet your finger-tips and touch the powder to pick up a bit (about an 8th tsp) and work your fingers into her hair, all over her head. Her hair will soon feel slippery. That's fine. Leave it a bit then dry her hair. Her hair will be a bit stiffer due to the B&BS. The slight solution of borax and baking soda will also remain behind on her scalp and do the job. Repeat the next time you wash her hair. Results should be noticeable in a day.

If I take a bath, I also add borax (for fluoride) and sodium thiosulfate (for chlorine) to the water before getting in the tub. I had had no adverse affects to either practices.

Dear Nola,

Is "Alpha" perhaps the name of the product?

Is there an ingredient list? Borax would be called one of the following:

sodium tetraborate decahydrate

or

sodium borate

or

sodium tetraborate

or

disodium tetraborate.

So, if one of those things is the only ingredient listed, it should be just borax, the same thing I buy in the US. I get "Mule Team Borax" but it is just borax.

Psoriasis. Thank you Earth clinic for helping me out my flaking. I had a few spots in my scalp for over two years. Doctors confirmed me as psoriatic arthritis. I have rheumatoid arthritis for over 20 years.

After reading some comments in here I shampooed my hair a solution of borax and water and drank a mixture of borax, ACV and baking soda. I am totally cleared of flaking but my arthritis is still active. I have been clear for over ten years now. Occasions of itch at the flaking spot I will resume with one or two shampooing sessions. I am back to this page after so long for some other issue and wanted to contribute and thank this site for curing my flaking psoriasis.

Mg. in Borax
Posted by Denise (Superior, WI) on 03/19/2023

The description of this article says 1/4 teaspoon contains 940-1000mg. of boron in 1 liter of water. Just before reading this I watched a video from the same Earth Clinic site, titled ''Borax Cures and Health Benefits". In this, at 4:18 the lady says 1/4 teaspoon of Borax in 1 liter of water provides 110 mg. of boron. One of these should have a correction.

EC: Hello Denise,

Thank you for bringing to our attention that the paragraph in the article is confusing. We will revise it to ensure clarity.

Additionally, there seems to be an error in the word you typed. Instead of "940-1000mg of boron," it should be "940-1000mg of borax."

As mentioned in the paragraph above the one you copied from our article, one gram of borax contains 11.3% boron. Therefore, ¼ teaspoon of borax is roughly equivalent to 113 mg of boron, which is close to the amount we stated in our previous 2016 borax video.

I had no problems with the seller who was very nice, and I received it within a few days. I also live in the Uk, East end of London lol. I hope this eases your mind. Rosina Lock from london UK

that is interesting. I used to take a whole bottle of garlic a day to fight candida and I smelled like garlic all the time. It didn't solve the candida. I took nystatin for four years and was on a very strict diet. My nurse friend had an allergy clinic that was focused on candida. She didn't overcome hers either. My cortisol was feeding the candida. The cortisol is from my subconscious program that is from pre birth to age 7. I have learned a lot from Eric Berg on cortisol and digestion. We are all different. I no longer fight candida, but I work to balance out and resolve areas of weakness. Candida is controlled from microbe health in gut that keeps it in balance.

Rash

It's interesting and reassuring to read that borax has helped with a rash. I started the 1/4 teaspoon in a liter of water a day. 5 days on 2 off. By the following week I started experiencing a rash. I kept up with week 2 for 3 more days when I noticed I had a rash/hives all over my chest, back and sides. Not sure if I was bit by a bug or got a bad reaction from the borax. I was feeling great from the borax otherwise. Mood had improved and my fibro pain was majorly improved. Is it possible I took too much?

Or perhaps try some other detox methods like parasite cleansing etc which can be done over shorter periods so that possibly you can go back to the Borax remedy later on.. You know your own body, so u have to educate yourself first before you decide what to do..

For a Borax solution 4% see Amazon.com.lt says lab use but this is a simple disclaimer.

l use many products over the years and personally know manufacturers that say lab use only, but the product is pure. They don't want to be blamed for any ‘wrong' uses. Can't blame them.

Much easier to use premade totally dissolved in solution borax pure lab grade to use in topical applications.

Hi Art,

Wondering how much borox do you take during the weekdays? I have just started taking two teaspoonfuls/day, of a two cup water/ 1/2 rounded teaspoonful borax solution, in water (also five day/ week) which I believe is about 18 mg/day. I plan to reduce it after a while.

By the way, I have found the preservative free aloe vera juice you suggested to be very beneficial for the lichen planus! It gives almost immediate relief. It wears off but you can take it as needed. I have finally made an appointment with a Chinese medicine doctor in August for six appointments, twice/week for three weeks, which is what he requires. Have been thinking about it for years and finally decided to call. Will post any results after trying this.

Thanks for all your helpful posts and links, as usual!

Boron vs Borax
Posted by Jonnybegood (Australia) on 09/27/2022

Hi, just had a question not sure where I should ask questions sorry if wrong spot.

I take a multi vitamin that has 3mg of Boron in it.

Questions

1. Is there any extra benefit to borax over Boron? to me, the extra compounds of borax vs boron are only sodium, hydrogen, oxygen, would that make a difference?

2. if I took borax, would I maybe need to take less like 1 tsp of the 1 liter mix every second day or maybe just not take it all as im getting most of the benefits from the 3mg boron in my multi?

Any thoughts or help would be great.

I'm leaning towards leaving it at my 3mg boron multi as enough, but maybe some has tried both and could notice a difference.

Thanks

p.s great site.

Great info. I have been using technical grade for over 4 months. I also use it externally and notice my skin is softer and my toenails look so much better. I would not use mule team as it contains other added ingredients. technical grade is 99.7% pure borax. I don't think they can claim 100% pure as the mined borax has go to get some other items in there that can't be helped.

Borateem is 98.7 percent borax with tribromsalan, a microbiocide, and sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, an insecticide (but more importantly, a common laundry detergent).

And of course, the cdc and all the famous medical sites (webmd, healthline, etc.) say the same exact thing about borax. Both borax and boric acid in loose powder form can be harmful if swallowed, particularly for children. the operative word is can... and if the government says it's bad, I believe the opposite as they have a stellar record for deception.

Lynn, dissolve 1tbsp of borax + 1 tbsp of bicarbonate of soda with +/- 1 cup of very hot water (borax will not dissolve in cold water). Once fully dissolved, you can add +/- two more cups of water. Place it in a large washing bowl and seat in it for about 20 to 30 minutes. If you are too seriously affected by LS as I was, do this procedure twice a day. Stay longer time soaking in this solution if you wish to. This is healing water and won't harm you at all. The longer, the better. You'll find immediate relief almost after the first bath. Then go on with it as many more times a day, a week or a month you need, until you're done with it. Apply a soothing oil in the affected area after each wash. I personally use organic apricot kernel seed oil. Do not use any body lotions or stuff loaded with harmful ingredients and chemicals. Make sure you use organic and natural products, more so for that extremely delicate and sensible part of our bodies.

It will help a lot to stop eating carbs and detox your body from harmful food too. Go walking or exercise each day and spend time enjoying the healing benefits of the sun as much as you can.

Distress, distress, distress.
Consider yourself healed!

Boric Acid Vs Borax
Posted by Mark (Breda, Nl) on 04/13/2016
★★★★★

Borax turns into boric acid depending on pH. If the pH is low (acid) like in your stomach, borax turns to boric acid, if the pH turns high again (alkaline) like in your intestines, most of it will be borax again.

Boric acid and borax are about equally effective.

I got this info straight from Walter Last, who wrote the article on borax.

Yes, it does.

Food grade 35% H202 *must* be diluted.

Use 6 drops of it p/gallon of water.

Use 1/8 c of it, with 11 oz water for a meat disinfectant. I've been using this for YEARS. Kills any germ, bacteria, parasite - anything bad that shouldn't be in the meat of fish. Pour the solution over the meat or fish, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Then > drain off the solution, rinse the meat or fish and freeze, or bake, or marinade or whatever you planned.

Try MMS (there is a lot of info in the internet) when you shower, using a douche bottle or simple a water bottle full with water at body temperature and 6 drops of mms. Introduce just the mouth of the bottle in your part, and by squeezing the bottle, the water with the mms will get inside and some will be back to the bottle. Squeeze it many times. If you have candida the water left in the bottle will have some white components. Repeat the treatment for few day until you feel you have the problem no more.

Dosage
Posted by Pinch (London, England) on 03/04/2015

Hi everyone,

I have to say this site is very enlightening! I have been using Borax 20 team Mule for about 8 weeks now. Dosage 1/4 tsp in a pint of distilled water with 7 drops of Lugol's iodine and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Consumed each day.

Right now I am in a lot of pain, actually I am finding it hard to write, otherwise I would be far more polite.

I am 52 going on 53, male. 6'2", weigh about 90kg, I don't carry a lot of fat. Around 3 years ago I started to experience a lot of pain around my joints, shoulders and back.

I am a landscape gardener and sometimes the work is extremely physically labour intensive as I do a lot of garden construction. I live in London and a lot of the gardens are inaccessable to machines, diggers and the like, so it's all by hand.

I have noticed that after a hard day at the office that the morning after my body feels like its on fire and the pain is everywhere. My body is also very stiff all over and takes about 2 hours to limber up. I am inclined to believe that I have fibromyalgia like symptoms.

Since taking Borax I have noticed improvements in finger joints, knees and elbows. They feel stronger and less sensitive.

Right now though I have developed extreme pain in my right hip and I think it is the joint itself, also my right leg is numb along its length. I am not able to walk more than a few steps as the pain is unbearable. I have also developed a chest infection which seems to be clearing somewhat but this morning I was coughing up a disgusting green sputum.

Over the last 2 months or so I have been working hard on my house in preparation to sell it and move lock stock and barrel's to South West France where we own a very old farm which needs restoring from top to bottom. Part of my prep has been to try and rid myself of these physical ailments so that I will be fit and healthy for the work ahead which is considerable.

I have never had problems in my hips and if this problem persists then I will be fit for nothing. I have 2 sons aged 15 and 7 and we had daughter last September so you see I need all my strength most importantly for them and the wife. I think I might have overdosed on the Borax.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Kind regards, Julian

From my experience, everything helps but pain comes from inflammation/damage to tissue. This doesn't repair unless you alkaline the system constantly (half a teaspoon of bicarbonate) twice a day on an empty stomach. Anti-inflammatories such as 1/2 teaspoon cumin with 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper mixed with coconut oil to make a paste, mix with warm milk and honey to taste.

Julian dear, I am an old lady of 70 and I think you ought to have a spinal XRay. It seems as though you might have Spinal Stenosis. That is a narrowing of the spinal canal and the nerves get pinched. A person can be born with it or get it in their 50s. I am no expert, but I was born with it and your symptoms are just like mine. The thigh and hip pain is crippling and extremely painful.

I feel for you and hope that you do not have Lumbar Stenosis. There are minor surgical opps for it but in Australia one would have to to Sydney and pay. In case you do have this problem I can give you a marvelous E address to help.spinehealth.com. There is a small opp that is done posterior and is something I would like but, the docs here reckon they cannot help me.The Coflex Interlamminer Stabilisation Device is amazing and well worth checking out, if you may need it.You can even see an opp on your PC if you like. I'm sure someone in your country does this.

All the best, Anne.

I never ever did find out what that purple liquid was called? I come from the United Kingdom, and I did strangely enough ask for it in a chemist? I read on here some weeks ago that the quantity is the very tip of your finger in 1 litre of water, so about 15 grains of the stuff per 1000 mils.

As for your mixture..I would drink a lot of water about 3 litres, over the next couple of days then make a new batch, and when it does not taste soapy, you know you have it about right.

Now, I too am in Australia and wanted to ask you what borax you are using? This is because Hovex is no longer available anywhere around here, only the brand, Bare Essentials.

Hi Jennysmom2. Happy to reply. Hope it helps. I've been taking borax for 1 (one) week, that's why I'm so surprised at the progress. I tried borax once before with less success and at a higher concentration. Could that account for greater success this time?

I've been trawling the internet looking for answers but haven't found any. Just seems to be the same info going round and round. The most scientific information I've found seems to be the paper by Walter Last that I mentioned previously. Sorry to be of such limited help. For now, I'm monitoring myself as closely as I'm able and taking note of gains as they happen - so far no losses. I'll try to keep posting here of any new developments and hope that helps you and others.

Ultimately I'm hoping to reverse my osteoarthritis. If that happens I think you'll hear me! As mentioned before my knee pain is pretty much gone and I intend to give it 3 months before I go to the doctor to request another x-ray. I guess then we'll see what, if anything, has happened to the structure of my knees.

As for weight loss, I seem to have plateaued too. No idea why so, no help there. I've just added iodine into the mix so now that's; borax, magnesium oil and iodine. I read somewhere that these are complementary and I know from here that iodine can influence weight loss. Guess I'll find out soon. I'll let you know how I go.

I wouldn't take a "boron supplement" because it's a trace mineral and everywhere - except, apparently, in modern foods. A capsule or pill could contain just about anything as long as it has some boron in it. And the liquid supplements could be anything or even just spring water. If you want to take a pill or dispense from a dropper bottle, make your own. That way you know exactly what's in it. Aside from whatever might be in the material used to make the capsule.

Mary: The most likely explanation is that the 20 Mule Teem is shipped in the same container as other detergent products that do contain chemical scents (and many have very high levels). The 20 Mule Teem manufacturer would need alerted that the scent is leaking into the cardboard box containers. The boxed Borax is certainly permeable.

I have noticed this same type incidence with other products that are located near scented laundry products on the store shelves.

Try pouring the Borax in a wide container and let set out in a mild sun and not too damp weather.

Borax Scent
Posted by Bess (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) on 04/30/2013

Hi Mary - I just checked my container of borax and there is no smell BUT I've had the box for awhile so perhaps the new stock carries a fragrance. Also, I'm in Canada so maybe there are different formulas for export to various countries.

Does borax absorb odours like baking soda does? The smell in the detergent aisle of the supermarket is so overpowering, I'm wondering if it's absorbing odours from the other products. It's too bad so many people feel the need for toxic fragrance in just about everything.

Have you tried the health food store in the laundry section? If they don't have it in stock, they may be able to order it for you (as long as it isn't a "repackaged" 20 Mule Team product). Good luck! Bess

Another thought on storing Borax...it does seem to absorb odours, thus the common concern that it has fragrance...it is on the shelf with strongly scented laundry products and absorbs their odours.

For long term storage, I think glass jars, of light, would be ideal. Even food grade freezer weight storage bags will have an odour transfer, so I don't think they would be the best, though they may be better than the box the borax comes in.

Just a few thoughts....

Thanks for that comment - I was about to respond with the same but you did so very well. There is quite a bit of misunderstanding out there in regards to nutrition - not everyone takes chemistry in college. As a microbiologist I try to offer some information in regards to yeast infection and normalizing gut flora. Much is lost to people of the order generation that did not have the advantage of education our kids have today - basic biology and chemistry principles are now taught at junior high levels. Hopefully they'll have a solid grasp of these kind of things an will be capable of choosing alternative healing practices with understanding and confidence.
