I had surgery as an infant at both ears otitis media. I am female 58 years old. 20 years ago it began to give problems with severe tinnitus, which is a strong buzz that never stops in my head. Are there any reports of experience with borax or other alternative means what can be done?

I'm on Borax now 5 days and can sleep better, my severe back pain are completely gone and I have a wonderful skin baby soft. My water to clean with precious Shungite stones from Russia to neutralize all the pollutants out of the water and cause fullerenes (antioxidants and minerals) these stones never discharged and have a very high carbon content, they are likely to come from a meteorite because they only exist in a single place in Russia. I bought them in my home country of Austria at Amazon.de. Greetings Evelyn

I've just added boron as a 'must have mineral', having been ignorant of the wide ranging benefits toward wellness.

So much 'good stuff' seems to hide in the shadows of plain sight all around us, and one day, a light is shined on the subject, and it it immediately becomes a 'no brainer' to act upon the info, reaping unexpected rewards for one's effort to stretch further.

Boron's exactly that for me, changing my life in a wink...

...because, now I DRINK my footbath water.

(I mix up a fresh batch, no double-dipping for me)

Gee whiz! Whoo-da-thunk it? What's next?! ?

(urine therapy?! ?) Who knows...?

Thanks to all who contributed comments here. Has anyone noticed themselves feeling as strong as a mule? Just wondering...

Hi Shubha,

If you live in Mumbai then, you have to go to Princess street Fort, and there are shops who deal in all chemicals and generic medicines. You will have to search as to who is having Borax and there you will get it. If you need some urgently, I can help you.

Hello Sharon,

You ask for some scientific report or study by scientists on Boron. A VERY scientific BOOK on the subject can be downloaded via "Google Scholar".... key words; Boron Science.

That is the book title. Be prepared for an immersion in chemistry.

If that doesn't impress you...nothing will.

Dr. Rex Newnham on Borax

Hi Sharon,

Big pharma make billions in profit from keeping us all ill so they can supply us with their chemical medications and vaccinations. They are so powerful that any threat to profit margins due to people or products trying to offer cures will be bumped off and removed.

Healthy humans means no neeed for big pharmas meds leading to no massive profits. The queen is the head of the pharma corps so that gives an idea who we are up against.

Its only in recent years that the EU classified borax as toxic, but they left out that toxicity only applied to unborn babies! & so is bleach toxic deadly to unborns aswel as humans and animals full stop!!

A man in 1960's tried to find bigger outlets to help him supply borax as a arthritic cure when the demand for his discovery supplying masses of local people with the borax dosages in med form became bigger than he could handle, so unwittingly approaced people he thought would help ease his medicine demands by mass production and manufacturing. These people were the wrong help as they had vested interest in profits selling synthetic meds to a never ending supply of patients they kept ill, so they shut him up and took away his discovery.

Here is the story...

The Arthritis Cure of Rex Newnham

In the 1960's Rex Newnham, Ph.D., D.O., N.D, developed arthritis. At that time he was a soil and plant scientist in Perth, Western Australia. Conventional drugs did not help, so he looked for the cause into the chemistry of plants. He realized that plants in that area were rather mineral deficient. Knowing that boron aids calcium metabolism in plants he decided to try it. He started taking 30 mg of borax a day, and in three weeks all pain, swelling and stiffness had disappeared.

He told public health and medical school authorities about his discovery but they were not interested. However, some people with arthritis were delighted as they improved. Others were scared to take something with a poison label on the container and meant to kill cockroaches and ants. Eventually he had tablets made with a safe and effective quantity of borax.

Within five years and only by word of mouth he sold 10,000 bottles a month. He could no longer cope and asked a drug company to market it. That was a major mistake. They indicated that this would replace more expensive drugs and reduce their profits. It so happened that they had representatives on government health committees and arranged that in 1981 Australia instituted a regulation that declared boron and its compounds to be poisons in any concentration. He was fined $1000 for selling a poison, and this successfully stopped his arthritis cure from spreading in Australia.

(2)Subsequently he published several scientific papers on borax and arthritis. One was a double-blind trial in the mid 1980's at the Royal Melbourne Hospital which showed that 70% of those who completed the trial were greatly improved. Only 12% improved when on placebo. There were no negative side-effects, but some reported that their heart ailment had also improved, and there was better general health and less tiredness.

(3) Most of his later research was devoted to the relationship between soil boron levels and arthritis. He found, for instance that the traditional sugarcane islands, due to long-term heavy use of fertilizers, have very low soil-boron levels. Jamaica has the lowest level and arthritis rates are about 70%. He noted that even most dogs were limping. Next comes Mauritius with very low boron levels and 50% arthritis. The daily boron intake in these countries is less than 1 mg/day. An interesting comparison is between Indian and native Fijians. The Indians are estimated to have an arthritis rate of about 40% and eat much rice grown with fertilizer while the native Fijians with an estimated arthritis rate of 10% eat mainly starchy root vegetables grown privately without fertilizer.

It would be good to read a report by a current scientist. It doesn't make sense. If anyone knows of anyone please let me know. If something does cure it should be in the public domain rather than hidden here in a dark cupboard. Everyone should be allowed to benefit...

Borax Safety
Posted by Mark (Exeter, United Kingdom) on 08/22/2015 12 posts

Below is my email to intralabs and their reply stating the safety of borax, the only toxic effects apply to unborn babies whose mother ingests. The 'powers that be' have left that bit out to make us think toxicity applies to all of us, hence shops removing borax and replacing with borax substitute (which really is toxic!! ). Email intralabs yourselves for reassurance. They are very cheap too. Label warnings of dangers and toxicity are put on Borax by law.

Hi, Im confused about 'Borax' mainly as my nan used to drink small amounts to rid herself from arthritus, also using it as shampoo then rinsing afterwards with citric acid, she fed her plants with it as every living organisms cells require borax! So I dont understand why yr Material Safety Data Sheet says it is toxic ingested and a skin irritant?

She is still alive & free from arthritus and swears by the stuff. When talking with a few oldies at my mums residential care home it became clear that a fair few in their generation used borax on skin and ingested with no problems, I think the borax product was called '20 mule' or similar.

Please could you tell me why yours is so toxic please?? Also...I always understood that borax and boric acid are the same substance apart from one of them has more water molecules than the other, any advice on this lol?

I want to purchase from you but not if you sell a toxic form as im removing all mainstream pollutant chemicals from my home, then just using borax, citris acid, soap flakes, soda crystals, bicarb of soda and white vinegar for everything from hardcore cleaning, laundry, personal hygiene, pet and my shampoo, insecticide etc (the oldies convinced me there is no need for the squillions of products poisoning us everyday just so some fat cat corporate ****rs can rake in the profits at our expense).

Hope you can help me aquire the borax I talk of if you dont supply the safe version, all I can find is a substitute which my gran says is not borax either!!

Thanks in advance Mark

Hi

Borax was reclassified 4 years ago as Repro-toxic by the EU which means that it could damage fertilitiy or an unborn child if eaten.

Borax is not toxic to your general health (other than that just stated) and is actually less toxic than table salt.

This is the reason why your relative is quite well and not ill. 20 mule team borax is the same as the borax we sell, the only difference is that it's not classed as repro-toxic by US law but is by EU law.

20 mule team is a brand of borax, it's all the same.

Kind regards Dan

I use about a tablespoon of borax disowned in about 2 cups of warm water. In the shower then pour the borax solution onto scalp. I scrub and let sit in scalp for five minutes then wash out. Pretty simple.

By the way...I've always found EC so easy to navigate.

Hello everyone,

The layout of this site is very confusing to me and I am not certain that I am posting correctly.

Thanks for all of the useful information, it is much appreciated. I have couple of questions.

I've only read about half of the borax thread and I am interested in doing a borax shampoo for my scalp issues.

Questions:

1. What is the exact recipe for the borax shampoo/ wash? From what I gather it would be 2 cups hot water and one tablespoon of borax.

2. How long do I leave it in?

That's about it! I plan on doing the ingestion with water method later, but I want to experiment with this first. Thanks again everyone!

Boric Acid for Infections

I buy boric acid powder at the pharmacy and mix a small portion with boiled water. (You can find amounts online). You can soak gauze in it then apply it.

In the old days, and I mean in the 1920s-1950s - my grandmother always kept a warm pan of boric acid water on the back of the stove. It was that important to have on hand when raising six kids. They didn't have antibiotics for most of those years - so infections were drawn out with compresses and wounds were sterilized this way.

I have been taking gelcaps of 20 mule team borax which is about 11% boron mixed 50% with magnesium citrate. The caps full are about 0.5 gram, or 0.25 g borax or about 0.0275 g which would be about 27.5 mg. I feel that when taken it helps with sleeping better waking up less stiff and less sore. If I don't take them a few days later I am reminded first thing in the AM.

Borax Bans

My usual borax supplier had this message when I went to some a few days ago:

"RESTRICTED FROM SALE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

This product is restricted for Sale to the General Public under Annexe XVII of EU Regulation 552/2009.

It is only available for sale to Companies and any sale will be subejct to a Declaration of Use being completed.

Please contact us before purchasing"

Seems our beloved Ted was right on the money as this restriction is totally irrational to a compound less toxic than table salt.

It can still be bought from that auction site and be imported but my advice is STOCK UP before a total ban if you live in the EU. Medical tyranny is halfway here. Look out for each other and stock up for your "chemical" remedies.

God bless.

You need more borax than that. Mix a half TSP of borax with a half-tsp of baking soda (not baking powder). Put the resulting powder in a cup or saucer and have it handy. Get your daughter's hair sopping wet. Wet your finger-tips and touch the powder to pick up a bit (about an 8th tsp) and work your fingers into her hair, all over her head. Her hair will soon feel slippery. That's fine. Leave it a bit then dry her hair. Her hair will be a bit stiffer due to the B&BS. The slight solution of borax and baking soda will also remain behind on her scalp and do the job. Repeat the next time you wash her hair. Results should be noticeable in a day.

Dear Om,

I always love to hear of your successes and progress. While I am not surprised at the great results you are getting with turmeric, it always makes me happy to hear more good news with it!

Regarding treating your dog with mange - we did also use hydrogen peroxide in the mix with borax and water as per Ted's mange treatment. It seems that his borax treatment for scalp infections in humans does not include the peroxide.

HI U BROOKE, , , , , , , , , when the term saturated appears, it means that the solution can no longer absorb any more . Take yo sweet tea. It can only take so much sugar, and the rest goes to the bottom of the glass. It can only get so sweet for the temperature and that's the reason Southern folks sweeten their tea when it's hot so it's super saturated when ice is added. It's a Redneck thing.

I can't speak for Ted, but I think he meant for you to add Borax until it would no longer be absorbed and the crystals would end up in the bottom of the jar. The supernate, or clear part, would them be saturated.

I'm just a passer by, but I think you just need to use your common sense. You have a trail, so follow it. You want instant success and that does not always happen. Just get started and you will find success.

Dear Mama to Many ----

Your response resonates well with me specially since my big water dog has the red mange again and Neem Oil did not made the grade even though it may have interrupted their breeding cycle. I will use your goat remedy.

For my hair I will add Dr. Christopher's black walnut oil treatment. Being vegan for a year did much damage to my metabolism and am living vegetarian with goats milk again, hoping my hair will grow again and my body will recover.

As to turmeric, I have had a glass hot goat milk with one tsp. turmeric twice a day for two weeks now and on some days the turmeric elixir that I posted on EC recently.

This was to mitigate muscle pain from an old injury from the groin of my right leg down to the entire leg. Gradually the pain is diminishing as well I feel more flexibility. But the unexpected results with the "Golden Queen" is the disappearance of three abscesses causing trouble and now all is quiet. I did not expect that.

Also, in the last two days I perceived turmeric working in both breasts, which reminds me of Ayurvedic medical comments that T. will prevent and heal breast cancer. This can be felt if one is resting very quietly. I also have an inflammation from the old injury in my groin and it is also diminishing.

This is good news and so pleasant to administer.

Dear Brooke,

You have tried so many things for your daughter. (I read your initial post that outlined the many things you have tried.) I am sorry this is dragging on so long for you and for your daughter!

Regarding the borax mixture - I have used a borax recipe from Ted on my goats (with great success, I might add! ) On his recipe for animals he uses 3 heaping Tablespoons of Borax in 4 cups of water. We did not wash this off of the goats. We put it into a spray bottle and sprayed them twice a day. I think 4 days on and 2 days off sounds reasonable. It did not irritate or dry their skin and they had new hair growth in a remarkable amount of time.

I know you have tried castor oil and coconut oil, but I would consider trying them again. On one of the two days off, try gently massing into the scalp equal parts of castor oil and coconut oil (if you still have tea tree essential oil around you could add a few drops of that per tablespoon of oil) and letting it sit on the head for an hour or two, (I wrap the head with plastic wrap and a towel to protect furniture and keep the oils from spreading.) Then gently wash out using the natural shampoo you use. It may take 2 shampoos to get it to not look greasy.

I have read about the late Dr. Christopher using black walnut tincture on a serious scalp fungal infection with great success. If I were going to try that, I would get a good quality black walnut tincture (I trust Herb Pharm.) Put one dropperful of the tincture into 2 ounces of water and apply to the scalp daily. Interestingly, Black Walnut does contain iodine, which has seemed to help your daughter some in the past. Because this could cause a stain, you could try this at night. Perhaps use the borax in the morning?

I would also try some things internally. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil has anti-fungal properties. If you could get her to take 3/4 teaspoon of this twice a day, that may be helpful.

Also, in my house, "When in doubt, try turmeric." I give turmeric daily for something or other. One day I had three children complain of three different ailments and turmeric was the answer for all three! Turmeric is a blood purifier. It has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. I give a five year old about 1/4 teaspoon a day. In yogurt or applesauce or mixed in a smoothie. (I put 1/4 teaspoon into my 3 year old's breakfast smoothie this morning and he didn't even know it! He was attacked by a mosquito last night and had a lot of itchy bites, so I wanted to get some turmeric into him.) Some say turmeric can be constipating, so it should be taken with plenty of water.

A probiotic or daily consumption of kefir may be helpful, too.

Please let us know how things go for your daughter. And let me know if something I wrote was not clear.

~Mama to Many~

I am having a hard time locating the exact protocol regarding borax. My 5 yr old daughter has a fungal infection on her scalp. Ted replied to me to used a borax saturated solution, but I still haven't read exactly what ratio to use for topical use. Lastly night I mixed 1/8 tsp with 1 liter of water and rinsed her hair and let sit for 5 min, then rinsed off with reverse osmosis water. so could someone please help me...I'd greatly appreciate it as her scalp has been suffering for a year and it's really been stressful for our family. Here are my questions.

1)What ratio do I use topically?

2) Do I only mix with water? or include something else..I've been reading about the dryness?

3) How often do I do this? I read something about 4 days on 2 days off?

4) Do I use this as the/instead of the shampoo (we always use natural/minimal shampoo) ? Do I leave borax on or rinse off?

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

For a long while now, my skin has been dryer than I think it's ever been in my entire life. I suspect I have some vitamin deficiencies (and/or thyroid issues) I need to address to get to the heart of the problem; but in the meantime, I decided yesterday that maybe I should start taking a little better care of my skin that I've been doing, so I decided to try washing my face with borax.

I had read about the many benefits of borax a couple of years back but didn't decide to try it until now. I was hoping it'd help exfoliate and perhaps even aid in fighting off any fine lines or wrinkles I'm beginning to develop (I'm 27); and though it's too early to tell with the wrinkles, I can say for certain that not only has exfoliated and made my facial skin extremely smooth and baby soft - but it has also unclogged so many of my pores! I still have some blackheads; but I suspect that those, too, will be gone, so long as I continue with the borax.

Before I get into what side effects I'm experiencing today, I'd like to also add that this morning I test exfoliated a patch of skin on my upper arm that's covered in dry skin and keratosis pilaris, and holy cow at the difference! There are still red spots (however, I'm interested in seeing if they'll disappear with continuous use), but I can't remember the last time anything ever made the skin on my arms this smooth!

Anyway, so that's all of the good things I've noticed in a two day period of time; but there is something has me a bit concerned - and that's that after using the borax on my face again this morning, I noticed that my usually clear, spotless cheeks were covered in red splotches and teeny, tiny little bumps!

(Side note: This isn't totally uncommon for me, as much of the time, when I wash my face with just about anything, it tends to bring out similar kinds of blemishes but in much lesser amounts - so I do NOT think that what I've experienced today is the result of an allergic reaction.)

At first, I was a bit horrified, lol. I wondered if I had over-exfoliated my skin. Perhaps two days in a row is a tad much, but not only that ... maybe I had scrubbed too hard (which feels very easy to do with borax)? Or maybe my skin is purging? But if purging is to blame, then why, in less than an hour, did most of the irritation subside? My cheeks look ALMOST clear again! So... where did those itty bitty bumps go, and what were they? I don't think they were blisters; they didn't look anything like blisters, and I think some of them even had little white heads on them. (Gross, I know.) How could my skin just reabsorb them in such little time?

I'll let it be known that I do suffer from an overgrowth of candida, and I'm curious if that may somehow have something to do with all of this. Like, is the borax sucking any bad "yeasties" out of my skin? Haha, I don't know! It didn't itch or anything, and I'm just making guesses based on things I've read; but I am really hoping that someone out there might be able to tell me what could be going on with my skin. Thanks! :-)

UPDATE (6/8/2015): I haven't used the borax on my face again quite yet, as I thought that'd be a bit too soon, considering I may have over-exfoliated yesterday. I've kept it moisturized with coconut and castor oil; and before I go out or if I start to feel too sticky, I simply rinse with water. I haven't needed to wash with borax or reapply any oils since yesterday morning, and my face looks so soft and dewy - I love it! The only thing is that my face looks sunburned! ? It doesn't hurt or itch; it feels and looks completely normal and even healthier than usual, other than the redness. Might anyone know what could be causing this? Is it the over-exfoliation alone, or is it some other side effect of using the borax?

I have been taking 20 mule team borax for two years now for arthritis and migraines. I also have crohn's disease and diverticulitis which it greatly helps. This is a wonder product and from what I have read..the original person who discovered the medical uses of this product tried to have it pass the FDA as a cheap and effective fix for many ailments...But big pharma did not like that so the doctor was fined and a warning was put on the box. Figures...it is completely safe. no side efects so far when used in moderation..

I make a mix with one quart of filtered water and one tablespoon of borax. Put in fridge and take one table spoon on that mixture every other day for two weeks. then move to a one week on and one week off schedule..because it does remove metals..even the ones u need like magnesium.

I would recommend this to anyone at any age or condition. it has been a life saver for me with my fibromyalgia also :)

Hi Nho...Fluoride will also deplete iodine in your thyroid so, as you say, you are probably hypothyroid as well. So if I were in your situation I would start taking the full Iodine Protocol(together with all advised minerals and vitamins) to immediately improve and normalize the thyroid. Supplementing the Iodine Protocol will also help to automatically remove any excess fluoride in your body(from the Cipro) in the same way as borax can. The borax protocol is shown here.

I was on that for 2 days, when my arm swelled up to size of thigh and was weeping a yellowish liquid, on third night went to ER, diagnosed w/cellulitis, given two antibiotics(MRSA fear) one was Sulph base antibiotic, by 3rd day on antibiotics went to see primary physician, immediatly diagnosed as drug reaction, severe, took me off all drugs including prednisone, was on prednisone for a total of 6 days.

In Nov. 2013, took a sulpha based antibiotic, due to cellulitis diagnosis, ended up w/reaction, that looked like steven johnson syndrome, mixture of rash w/a burn. Reaction continued for weeks, finally went to dermatologist, did biopsy, confirmed, drug reaction rash, only thing is given topical steroids, and strong benydryl. I initially used steroids but as soon as I stopped the rash would return, from what I read common cycle so I decided to look for other remedies.

I took some advice from Tony Pantelleresco, he suggested this bath:

1/4 cup borax, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup tri-sodium phospahte(TSP)in stores they are labeling products as TSP but it is not, be sure to read label and if in doubt call the makers of product to confirm it is pure Tri sodium phosphate, as much epsom salt as I wanted, also add some Dmso(start small, cap full or two, and increase to your comfort level), some iodine(pottasium iodide) as hot as I could stand it. as long as I could take it. I did these baths to begin with 2x's a day, when infection was at worst. this is the only thing that brought relief.

if no TSP, just do what u have available

Before I started baths, I asked Drs. if they thought baths would be ok, both drs. thought hot water would not be good, dry out skin..

I would experiment w/different ingredients w/time in bath, ACV, urine, as time went on.

I decided to work on my digestive flora, drank kefir daily(homegrown), increased all b supplement b50, b12, biotin, juiced carrots, read teds suggestions for Steven Johnson Syndrome (SJS). Acupucture, read book by Joe Dispenza, on You are the Placebo, Making the Mind Matter, this helped.

5 months skin clear but returned on arms 1 month after, then did hot & cold baths on arms and continued full salt baths 2-4 x's a week.

Also decided to stay away from grains, and sugar. I always kept looking read what ted says and be willing to experiment to figure what works for you.

As of today, I am clear of rash

Maybe your reaction is not as bad as mine, which was all over the front of my body, even spread to my face. these are some of the things that really helped me.

I know it is hard but you will get better, just keep looking for what works for you. You will get better.

To Tom (Louisiana) ---

Sorry to hear of your wife's skin problems. Most likely, it is the liver throwing the poisonous substances out through the skin.

Borax has a very drying after effect and is good for some skin ailments. But in this case I would make chamomile tea, soak cotton face cloths and cover the affected areas. You can also make enough for a bath. This extremely soothing and healing and can be repeated a few times.

After dabbing dry, apply coconut oil liberally where needed. Coconut oil is cooling and soothing, too. Meanwhile Milk Thistle internally three times a day to help clear the liver, and stay away from antibiotics. The word antibiotic means "anti life". It must be done with God's pharmacy.

Let us know how it goes. Namaste Om

My wife has a very bad reaction to an antibiotic and has broken out in a rash that looks as if she has be scalded. Will a borax treatment in her bath help to cure it and stop the itching?

Fluoride Poisoning

You have to take a break of 4 weeks when using C Potencies in Homeopathy, the higher the potency the longer it lasts in your blood (unless u drink coffee, which is one of the biggest antidote of Homeopathy) do not repeat too often u could get "proving" symptoms of th e Remedy, so less is more, also its not about quantity but about quality one pellet goes a long way it last 4 weeks in blood and does its job. Only in very acute conditions one can repeat more often, (and then its better to use LM Potencies then C)in chronic conditions once a month is enough.

Hi,

After checking one of the other links about the effect on Candida, I now understand why this body is feeling currently worse. The mucus, pain in hand and finger joints, spinal stenosis symptoms of pinched nerves affecting neck, eyes, nose, ears, arms, skull (massive pain), depression etc. etc. - all part of the detox. I'm glad I read that as I had a feeling these are CURRENTLY detox symptoms and I'm prepared to continue until the boron in the Borax finally works, as I need a job. I'm 63. My meditation also gives relief to the pressure. Not a cure, but helps. Taking pressure off the mind takes pressure off the body.

Another place to get it in Oz is at Bunnings - same brand.

Good to read all this feedback on the effect of boron. I'm so grateful I finally discovered the info online. It gives hope.

Thank you all and I wish success - no more suffering and pain to you all.

Elizabeth

I had alot of small bumps behind my upper arms, which a Naturopath said indicates Candida, so I took an anti-candida product and that's all I took, and it was gone well within 2 months. No special diets, etc. Love the stuff. Hope you try it & have the same experience.

This is to your question about your brother-in-law's bone chip. I had two bone spurs on my fingers and I ran rife frequencies for bone spurs in a frequency program I made for a PC and used the rife frequencies I found online and I woke up one morning and the bone spurs were gone. I was quite pleased.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Many thanks for taking the time to reply to my post Nanowriter and Iowama. I have also written a couple of emails to Ted but so far no reply, which is not suprising considering his difficulties.

I have done a lot of reading on Borax and in 1 article found on the internet somewhere it stated that Borax can bring on a Herxheimer reaction resulting in stiffness and pain in the shoulders in hips accompanied by numbness in hands and feet.

This indeed happened to me in a big way, first in the shoulders which subsided after a few days. Sometime later I noticed similar side effects in my right leg and then my hip which became excruciatingly painful and the pain extended down to my right knee. These areas are still very painful but it is beginning to lessen. I think I am having a Herxheimer reaction. I have always been an avid brusher of teeth using fluoridated toothpaste and I am convinced that this is part of the reason for my plight. I also discovered that it is possible that I am being decalcified. Apparently the sciatic nerve can be severely calcified from fluoride and the decalcification process is not on the list of great ways to have a good time. These articles go on to say that the Herxheimer reaction is a sign of healing and not to give up, so I have kept going. 10 weeks into it now.

I know that throughout my life I have subjected my body to gruelling feats of endurance as this my OTTP nature. You always pay the price somewhere down the line but hopefully it is not to late to put things right and also learn a bit of moderation.

I am now alkalising with Bicarb and also taking high doses of ascorbate acid, epsom salts in baths and internally. The baths are wonderful!

I have a big "L" plate on my back in regards to alternative remedies but I am a firm believer that God has provided everthing we need in nature for healing. The problem it seems is that we systematically consume food that is not beneficial to health and that medical science loves a sick population to maximise their profits. "For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil." History provides all the evidence we need of this sad fact.

Many thanks again and good health to you always! Julian

Dear Pinch, I am sorry you are in such pain and I have not used Borax. We share a background in hard horticultural work, however, and I am going to throw out a few things that have stopped the pain that used to wake me up in the night. My pain was in my hands, neck, and ankles and, after doing a lot of reading, I found help through simple changes. I did drink a tea made from vinegar for a while, but later amended my diet to keep my body alkalized. I started drinking a lot more unflouridated water and stopped most alcohol, all flour, sweets, and dairy. These last 4 are common sources of inflamation. I don't know about you, but some of the joints that were painful actually looked reddish each morning. Now my joints are the same color as the skin around them and I rarely feel morning stiffness. In fact, your letter reminded me that I hadn't given stiffness a thought in many months. The thing about this site is that one never knows what things have already been tried, but perhaps you may find something useful here. Good luck to you.

Pinch, If I may add another comment, I just remembered another change I made that helped joint pain and stiffness. It was just the simple taking of a couple of calcium capsules per day. Now I have switched to drinking homemade bone broth instead. My feeling is that you had damaged joints and now have fibromyalgia as well.

Julian, I suspect that when we are generally low in vitamins and minerals, it is possible that supplementation can exacerbate other deficiencies.

Going on this premise, you might want to look into the vitamins that tend to be depleted by boron--possibly vit d, calcium and especially magnesium. High vitamin A may help with the lung infection issue.

Hi everyone,

I have to say this site is very enlightening! I have been using Borax 20 team Mule for about 8 weeks now. Dosage 1/4 tsp in a pint of distilled water with 7 drops of Lugol's iodine and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Consumed each day.

Right now I am in a lot of pain, actually I am finding it hard to write, otherwise I would be far more polite.

I am 52 going on 53, male. 6'2", weigh about 90kg, I don't carry a lot of fat. Around 3 years ago I started to experience a lot of pain around my joints, shoulders and back.

I am a landscape gardener and sometimes the work is extremely physically labour intensive as I do a lot of garden construction. I live in London and a lot of the gardens are inaccessable to machines, diggers and the like, so it's all by hand.

I have noticed that after a hard day at the office that the morning after my body feels like its on fire and the pain is everywhere. My body is also very stiff all over and takes about 2 hours to limber up. I am inclined to believe that I have fibromyalgia like symptoms.

Since taking Borax I have noticed improvements in finger joints, knees and elbows. They feel stronger and less sensitive.

Right now though I have developed extreme pain in my right hip and I think it is the joint itself, also my right leg is numb along its length. I am not able to walk more than a few steps as the pain is unbearable. I have also developed a chest infection which seems to be clearing somewhat but this morning I was coughing up a disgusting green sputum.

Over the last 2 months or so I have been working hard on my house in preparation to sell it and move lock stock and barrel's to South West France where we own a very old farm which needs restoring from top to bottom. Part of my prep has been to try and rid myself of these physical ailments so that I will be fit and healthy for the work ahead which is considerable.

I have never had problems in my hips and if this problem persists then I will be fit for nothing. I have 2 sons aged 15 and 7 and we had daughter last September so you see I need all my strength most importantly for them and the wife. I think I might have overdosed on the Borax.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Kind regards, Julian

Dear Nola,

Is "Alpha" perhaps the name of the product?

Is there an ingredient list? Borax would be called one of the following:

sodium tetraborate decahydrate

or

sodium borate

or

sodium tetraborate

or

disodium tetraborate.

So, if one of those things is the only ingredient listed, it should be just borax, the same thing I buy in the US. I get "Mule Team Borax" but it is just borax.

Hello. Read your post and couldn't help to think of lecithin granuals. Crush the granuals and blend all items. Lecithin is an emulsifier, meaning it binds the oils together with water into creamy consistency. This lecithin also when taken orally will pull oil out your body (Oil pulling ). Also a lil FYI : Walgreens sells a name brand called shea moisture, their products all organic, no parabans or sulfates. Find it at the ethnic isle. Not as cheap as regular shampoos but not too expensive either. And if you go from now until February 28th it's buy one get 2nd at 50% off. I love the coconut hibiscus line. You might want to check out their Jamaican black castor line, they have clarifying shampoo with apple cider vinegar and their leave in Conditioner has great ingredients. The good part is Walgreens has a good return policy, if you don't like, you return it!

Systemic Yeast Infection

I also have a problem with painful blisters on my buttocks, but I never really linked this with my yeast issue. I will try borax on this.

This is my first contribution, but because borax was so instrumental in helping me control my systemic fungal infection that I wanted to put in my 2 cents to lend clarity to some of the posts. The borax that I bought was from 20 mule team and had no scent. If you look at the ingredients, there is only one ingredient and that is Sodium Tetraborate. Sodium Tetraborate is listed as a natural mineral. If there are any added scents to it, it would have to be listed also. Just make sure you only get the 20 mule team product.

I had Pneumonia when I was a baby and have had a systemic yeast infection my whole life. A friend made me a Hulda Clarke basic zapper and I was surprised at how effective it was. As time went on, I got a stronger one... I think it was a Bob Beck device. At that time you could purchase a kit at Electronic City in Burbank and put it together yourself. It seemed to work also. Then I loaned it to a person who had cancer and never got the device back. Meanwhile, my yeast problem got worse. I then got a don Croft Terminator. I was so determined to get rid of this yeast infection that I zapped every day for months.

Then one day, I woke up with my entire buttocks covered with watery hives. When I would scratch them, all the blisters would break. I didn't know what happened then later, I realized that the zapper was acting just like antibiotics. It would aggressively killed the yeast, fungus or bacteria, but not completely, leaving resistant ones to proliferate. I didn't know what to do, go back to a doctor? I was in this condition because of doctors to begin I t then returned with a vengence. This time my entire body was covered with the weepy, itchy blisters. That was when I found out about Borax.

Within two days of taking the Borax solution, all the blisters had cleared up. I've been on it for about a year now and though I'm much better, I still do have eruptions of pimples here and there in different parts of my body.

It seems to be happening more often now and I'm wondering if anyone has noticed a recurrence of their infection and if anyone knows of any information on these microbes developing a resistance to Borax?

Can you please tell me how to make a simple emulsion of borax, coconut oil and water? I can't and haven't used commercial shampoos or soaps for years because they make my skin very dry and uncomfortable and I like to use more natural things. Recently I started using borax because my other options weren't really getting my hair clean enough and it works great but dryness is becoming an issue for me again now because of it. However I want to continue using the borax because it's natural and it gets my hair clean. I was thinking if I mix it with oil that could combat the drying factor but I don't want to be left oily either so I need to know how to make it mix and emulsify like mayonnaise so it will rinse away without leaving me oily. I would like to make it rather thin so it's easy to put through my hair. Can you tell just a basic instruction of how much of each thing of coconut oil, borax and water and how to do them so that they emulsify together properly?

Hello Shahnaz, I want to comment on your SLE. Please look into using Celtic Sea Salt. It has a lot of minerals we cannot get anywhere else but from a live salt. CSS has not been refined, processed, bleached, leached or otherwise. It is not that expensive and a ceramic hand grinder is the best to use with a wet salt.

Too often, an autoimmune disease is cause by mineral deficiencies, in my experience.

Candida

Allow me to thank you with all my heart for such an exhaustive page on Borax.

When my new born son as an infant had thrush in his entire mouth the allopath paediatrician prescribed some dark violet coloured liquid to be painted with a brush inside his entire mouth.

In India , those days there was no Internet.

Among Indians the tendency is to accept whatever the allopath says as gospel. Sparing you all the complications that followed soon. His thrush was not cured however.

Eventually a Homeopath prescribed Borax in potentized form. Which got rid of this thrush miraculously. Many women suffer from candida infection. I believe it is this candida that manifests as thrush in our babies.

Thank you once again & all the others who have responded with pertinent queries & feedback.

Hi David& Jenn, We have been using the bare essensials brand for a while now. I think it may be the only one available now in the suppermarkets. Harpers is not available any more here in Vic. At least l cant find it now. A mistake was made when I was very ill and I took aprox 1.5 tsp (yes more than 1 but less than 2 tsp with no ill effects. No matter how sick I am I have never made this mistake again. It is interesting to look at the msds of borax & the msds of sodium chloride (salt) and see how safe borax really is. Although as mama to many said digestion can be temporarily upset & I would assume hormones would be effected with larger doses.

I read it was a quarter of a teaspoon in a litre of water. That makes your solution. Then you on take one or two teaspoons of that litre solution per day. Can someone clarify if this is correct??

EC: Hi David,

Many people on EC have reported trying Ted's borax protocol, as follows:

Men: 1/4 teaspoon in a liter of filtered water. Sip on the borax water throughout the day until the liter is finished. Next day, prepare another liter. 5 days on, 2 days off.

Women - 1/8 teaspoon in a liter of filtered water. Same instructions as above.

Drink plenty of water without borax during the day as well.

Dear David,

I think Ted's recommended dosage of borax for men is 1/4 teaspoon in a liter of water per day. 5 days a week. So you were not way off base. You might drink more water to dilute it further.

My husband takes borax five days a week. If he takes too much it gives him digestive distress. But it doesn't last too long. I would encourage you not to worry.

Hey again. Thanks for replying. I bought the bare essentials borax from Coles for bout 5 dollars. I read the msd sheet and it said it had no added fragrances. So I assumed this was fine????.I also feel totally fine a day after so I'm not so worried now.

I read on here some weeks ago that the quantity is the very tip of your finger in 1 litre of water, so about 15 grains of the stuff per 1000 mils.

As for your mixture..I would drink a lot of water about 3 litres, over the next couple of days then make a new batch, and when it does not taste soapy, you know you have it about right.

Now, I too am in Australia and wanted to ask you what borax you are using? This is because Hovex is no longer available anywhere around here, only the brand, Bare Essentials.

I feel rather stupid about this. I have been reading a lot about borax for some of my ailments. Long story short, I have got a little mixed up with the rates. I have just taken a quarter of a teaspoon in 600ml of water. I now realise this may be way too much. I worried it will have some adverse affect. please help

Borax Dosages

If you are unsure how much boron you are receiving from borax (sodium tetraborate, sodium borate, sodium tetraborate or even disodium tetraborate).

Here is how you figure it out:

Borax is: Na2B4O7.10H20

The atomic weights are:

Na = 22.98976928, B = 10.81, O = 15.999, H = 1.008

Therefore:

(22,9897*2)+(10.81*4)+(15.999*1*10)+(1.008*2*10)=381.3625 approx.

Total Boron is 10.81*4=43.24

Boron factor is 43.24/381.3625 = .11338

Boron factor is .11338 so the boron percentage is 11.338%. So regardless of how much volume of borax you use you need to weigh it and multiply the total weight of borax by .11338, this give you how much boron you are receiving.

This brings back memories of high school chemistry. ;)

Jean,

I looked at the article you posted and there is zero scientific study to back it up and the tone is all opinion of one individual; as in "It's also in slimy toys and some nutritional supplements.". Certainly not a statement one would find in a scientific article.

I believe this article is more the truth. http://educate-yourself.org/cn/boraxconspiracy03jul12.shtml

I wanted to give an update. Back then when I did that cleanse I had the bad reaction and stopped because I was in alot of pain. I know now that I was so close, I should of kept with it. But now 4 years later I am doing the cleanse again and have been for the last week or so. I have been going by the guidelines of what Ted has said to do: 1/4 teaspoon in one liter of water and taking the 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda with a cup of water 2 times a day. I'm also adding the borox to my shampoo and body wash. One thing that happened sometime after I stopped the cleanse back in 2010, I had to get cataract surgery. I don't know if it was because it was from drinking the borax or I might of got it in my eyes when used the saturated solution on my face. I will be more careful this time. I notice when I do the borox cleanse my eyes feel itchy and watery. Hopefully things will be okay with my eyes while doing the cleanse. As for my skin, I know it's gonna get bad before it's gets better. I'm glad to have found this site and remedy because I always wanted to get at the root cause and not just treat the symptoms.
