I have been suffering with BV for the past 6.5 years. I've tried so many home remedies and prescriptions but it would get better for a day or 2 and then come back.

I started a liquid fast yesterday to help detox my body due to some other health issues I'm having. The night before I started my fast I mixed 2 tablespoons of ACV, a little bit of ground cinnamon and about 3 tablespoons of distilled water into a shot glass and drank it. I use ACV with the mother in it. When I woke up yesterday morning I immediately drank another shot of the ACV mixture. Keep in mind I had no idea ACV would treat BV. I had zero odor when I woke up yesterday but I did have discharge still. I drank a total of 3 shots of that mixture yesterday and by the time I went to bed last night I had no odor and no discharge. I must say this is AMAZING. I only took this 3 times yesterday and it was all oral consumption. I didn't apply anything in or near my lady parts at all. I highly recommend drinking a "shot" of this miracle in a bottle 3 times a day. You will be so glad you did! I

Coconut Oil

A couple weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night with vaginal itching. I wasn't sure if I had BV or a yeast infection but my vagina was not smelling the way it normally should either. I searched the web for a natural remedy that would work for both a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis, since I wasn't sure which infection I had. I was not in the mood to go to the doctor because all they want to do is prescribe drugs, and I wanted to treat it naturally. I tried drinking apple cider vinegar for a few days and it didn't do much. So I decided to try coconut oil after seeing reviews that it works well for both BV and YI. I got one of those plastic siringe things from the drug store and filled it with coconut oil. I laid on my back in bed and inserted the plastic siringe as far up as I could and squirted the coconut oil inside me. I had some paper towels on the outside to prevent any mess. I layed there for 30 minutes. After that I would go to the bathroom to pee and have the coconut oil leak out into the toilet. (TIp: don't stand up without paper towels on your vagina or it will leak everywhere) I would then rub some CO on my inner and outter labia for good measure. Then I would put on a pantie liner and go to sleep. I did this for 5 nights and my infection is now gone. It's been a week since I did this and my symptoms have not returned and my vagina smells normal again!

I've had problems with bacterial infections and have felt the same way at the doctors office. No new sexual partner, yes I wash my towels regularly, yes I wipe front to back lol... (Its embarrassing to go and deal with the idiot doctors. It really is.) I have found that eating RAW garlic will kill all the bacteria in your body. That means good AND bad bacteria... So, in order to compensate for the loss of the good bacteria you are to also consume yogart. I'm not a huge fan of consuming either but I will tell you... Eating raw garlic (as disgusting as it is... ) WILL absolutely solve the problem!!! Please try. I dont have any on hand and have tried tea tree oil this evening. I will see how that goes... But mince it up and swallow with water. One clove for like three days and its gone. You'll notice almost immediate results. Guarenteed!

Apple Cider Vinegar, Probiotics

I have been suffering from chronic/recurrent BV for almost 10 years now but, I also have Graves/Hashimotos Thyroiditis and feel like this would be the main cause. I didn't have a "flare up" for a while until recently, as of about a month and a half ago, because some idiot Nurse Practitioner prescribed me an antibiotic for my infected tooth without prescribing me with the metronidazole that I asked for. She specifically told me to go get an OTC yeast cure and I told her they don't work (I really have a distaste for the medical field). Well, it progressed and unfortunately, BAM! Hit with BV all over again.

Just 3 days ago, I went and got a gallon of organic ACV (apple cider vinegar) with "the mother" and an 8-strain, 100 billion CFU's probiotic. (Mind, you the smell is putrid and fishy for the last month or so).

Day 1: I mixed 3 tsp. Of ACV in 16 oz of water and downed/drank it; then took 1 probiotic pill; diluted 50/50 purified water and ACV, soaked a folded paper towel, parted my labia, pressed the soaked paper towel up against the outside of my vagina for 3-5 minutes, twice this day. I see excess discharge shortly after but the smell is gone.

Repeated on Day 2: smell is gone and discharge is now clear.

Day 3 (TODAY my period begins): Have now downed (2)-16 oz bottles of water/ACV mixture, still taking 1 probiotic pill of 100 billion CFU's and making sure I change my tampon every 4 hours; smell still gone.

Will do the 50/50 ACV paper towel "press" after I shower. I will continue this process for the duration of my cycle and once my cycle is over, I will do an ACV sits bath in "cool" water and take TWO (2) probiotic pills for just one day following the sits bath. I don't like the idea of suppositories and douches because my hormones are off anyway due to having auto-immune and being thyroidless, so I've chosen this "put-together" method. So far, all is well and this is the most comfortable period I've had in a long time and my BV symptoms dissipated within 24 hours time!

Good Luck Ladies!

Liver and Gallbladder Flush

The liver flush would be helpful indirectly but I would consider direct application of colloidal silver as it is a natural antibiotic and you should see improvements within a few days.

I don't think you need to wash your vagina with soap even if it is unscented. Washing with regular water works fine for me. Putting soap down there might even cause you a new infection. Most gynacologists recommend not to use any kind of soap.

Colloidal Silver
Posted by Penny (Utah) on 06/11/2017

I've been suffering with BV that started during my pregnancy in 2016 & it continues still today 2 months postpartum. I thought it was maybe just hormonal changes & related itchiness/dryness from said hormone fluctuations that were the cause but now I'm thinking it's actually an infection of sorts. I'm taking L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (the bioactive form of folic acid) along with methyl B12,100 billion cfu probiotics x2, drinking some organic lemon juice & ACV in water, & tonight tried some 250 ppm colloidal silver (1 dropper full) mixed with a peri bottle of water in the shower & after the shower to wash my vagina with. Then after that was dry, I sprayed a bit of full strength ACV with the mother in it on my good girl & let it air dry before putting on cotton panties. I will continue this method for a few days to see if it helps relieve me of the burning & itching, luckily I've not had much of a discharge prior to this, just the occasional watery discharge & slight burning when I pee.

I have tried antibiotics, tea tree oil, probiotics, vitamins coconut oil (refined), acv, yogurt and nothing helped my BV. I logged on this site and saw people talking about virgin coconut oil. This stuff has changed my life. I take about 1 1/2 teaspoons out, put it in a cup and microwave it for about 9 secs. I then use a medicine syringe to get it out and stick the syringe inside of me after my nightly shower, place a pad on and go to sleep. First time I tried this i woke up with no smell! I also take probiotics with prebiotics & cranberry and drink plenty of water.

OK, I didn't do the douche. That's the absolute last resort

Instead, I did a ACV and warm water sitz bath for 20 minutes- ish. Took shower (I use Dove Soap).

Vaginally inserted a diy suppository that consisted of organic unrefined coconut oil and tea tree oil. I put about 1.5 tsp (?) amount in ice cube tray and froze before hand. Placed a pad into cotton underwear and viola! I'm hoping this works. Will update.

Thanks my fellow Cincinnatian. Hopefully this Apple Cider Vinegar treatment will work for me as well. I'm 35 and this is my first BV outbreak although doc told me I had it before (but no symptoms or smells at all).at that time I was taking Apple Cider Vinegar religiously (trying to lose belly fat) so I think that helped my pH balance internally.

Anyway, you're right, every body is different and I will try the Apple Cider Vinegar douche temporarily to clear up symptoms only. I will follow it up with organic plain yogurt suppository to add good bacteria back down there.

I've been eating raw garlic and it has been working when you change the way you eat, but as soon as I started to eat what I want, I've noticed the same recurring problem so now I'm off to try mixing oils in a douche to see if this make work faster this is a very frustrating thing to deal with!!!

I got BV for the first time when I got into a new relationship, we are very faithful to each other so that doesn't worry me. I noticed it by the fishy smell, the next day I was put onto those nasty pills Flagyl which eliminated the smell after two days, but before even finishing the pills, because I had unprotected sex, the smell came back. I was then put on the gels, metro works temporarily and I use it as a one time thing when I'm really desperate.

I decided to try EVERYTHING; coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, inserting acidophilus, inserting vitamin c, the only thing that got rid of the smell was apple cider vinegar but it hurt too much to have sex because of it and vitamin c worked temporarily. I luckily, knock on wood, am not experiencing severe itching, burning and pain, so maybe my case isn't as severe but if I... tmi... swab my v, there is a fishy odor. I went out and bought all the pills all the vitamins and heres what I am doing.

in the morning

-2 acidophilus pills

-3 vitamin d 1000 iu

-1 folic acid 800 mcg

-1 vitamin c rosehips 500 mg

pm

-1 acidophilus

-3 vitamin d 1000 iu

-1 folic acid 800 mg

-1 vitamin c rosehips 500

Its only been 2 and a half days, im praying, hoping, everything this works. Its hard to tell because most people experienced the relief of itching and burning but I dont have that. I'm hoping this knocks out the smell. I'll let ya know, pray for me!

I have been battling BV for about 6 years. I have tried everything. Out of frustration I decided to use essential oils to try and help. I have many and thought I would start with a few combinations and see if I can get something that works. I took a douche bottle amd added 3 drop 100% grapefruit oil, 3 drops 100% tea tree oil and 3 drops 20% frankincense. I filled the douche with tap water, shook the bottle and then used the product. I have had no signs of BV, no drying, and no itching. I used it directly after sex with my husband, my symptoms are usually much worse after that. But, again, I have no symptoms. I am hoping this works long term and if I can help anyone else who is dealing with this than I am happy.

I know EXACTLY how I got BV, unlike some others. I took a double dose of monsitat for a yeast infection a year ago because like an idiot I though it would work faster. Wrong! I got BV forever. I did the doc and antibiotic thing and the probiotics and douche and everything known to man kind but the only thing that work was vit.D3! I mean I'm alllll cleared up! I still take folic acid, acidophilus, and chlorophyll (only in summer when I.sweat like a beast) but the vit d3 is the only thing that worked. I take 3 or 4 a day. I got the idea from this site. So happy!!

I tried the doctor-prescribed medication to no avail. I tried the boric acid up my hoo-ha. The only thing that worked was D-Mannose, a natural supplement. I used it for 5 days straight, took 1 by mouth every 2 hours. It cleared up. Wanted to post this to help others who may not have had success using different routes. I plan to continue to take it as directed, once in the morning and once in the evening as a preventative measure.

For BV, wrap a whole peeled clove of garlic in gauze, insert at bedtime, and remove in the morning. Depending on how bad my case is one night will usually do the trick. If it's bad I will put a slit in the garlic and repeat for several days til better.

I've had recurring bv for 8 months. Ive tried home remedies and meds several times but nothing helped.

2 weeks ago I started drinking apple cider vinegar 2 times a day in water. Within a week, the smell was gone. I didn't take it for 3 days and the smell came back.

I started it again, and the smell and itch went away after 2 days.

I highly recommend trying this!!

Your body's ph has to be just right. If you eat a lot of sugar it can cause a mild yeast infection....The things people use to try to get rid of it usually make it worse.

A man's sperm can have a high ph and throw your ph off.

So it may not be a dirty man. It does happen.

Wear cotton panties. Or none when you sleep. Let it breath. Bacteria loves dark warm moist places to breed.

Diflucan for the yeast infection ....and get it for a month.

Also get the BV med.....If you can....

Only do the hydrogen soaked tampon if yellow discharge and 30 minutes is enough. And the lactobacillus on going.....

Find your stable ....but don't over do it. The rephresh ph gel inserts help.

Some people also drink a table spoon of vinegar daily.

Eat fruit....try to stay away from sugar. And antibiotics

Those are the main culprits. But once your PH is off it can be a battle to get it straight.

Iron

Ladies, if you are like me you have tried everything under the sun to find a solution to this very uncomfortable problem that interferes with your life beyond sex and including sex. I was beyond annoyed. I have found the solution for ME, and I think it is something you may want to try as well because once I realized my problem I felt really, well....dumb. So my problem has been persistent for over 6 months. I tried probiotics (didn't notice any benefits) ate yogurt which I HATE (no change), cut out sugar, took yeast infection tablets (this did work, but it was only temporary....took away odor and discharge but you must be diligent AND the box tell you it's not a cure) did hydrogen peroxide douches (once again temporary solution, in combination with the yeast infection tablets, I did find relief about 3 to 4 days at a time). Just as I was about to try and eat some bentonite clay (I was losing my mind by this point) my cycle started. I decided to stop the tablets and take IRON pills. Yes ladies IRON!!!!

I'm anemic and have always been, but never followed doctors orders to take the supplements because the prescribed dosage always made me sick. It wasn't until several friends had blood transfusions that I got scared and got serious about taking care of my body. As a result, after my 5 day cycle I noticed that I didn't have any discharge, or smell. It has been 8 days and I'm still feeling like a lady. LOL.

Now before I realized that iron was MY solution, I did a ton of research online, went to the doctor and was never pointed in the direction that my anemia could be the cause of the discharge. However after I suspected the iron was the reason it went away, I searched anemia and vaginal discharge. Low and behold it's all over the place that this could be the cause. How ironic....I could have saved hundreds of dollars, months of discomfort, and a lot of time because while I was looking for a miracle drug, the whole time I had bottles of iron in my medicine cabinet.

I take one 45mg tablet per day and so far this has been working. Not only has it gotten rid of the problem, but I'm also gaining the other health benefits that I always needed. I would definitely look into this if you are anemic. I'm happy to report this news as I promised myself I would report if anything truly worked and if I run into any bumps in the road with the iron I will report back, but so far.....8 days has been the longest I've been pantyliner, discharge, and odor free in months.

Boric Acid mixed with Coconut Oil made into suppositories by using empty capsules and freezing them has been a life saver! Any time I feel a BV issue coming on I use one of these and the issue is GONE.

I've tried the conventional Flagyl treatments, ACV, Garlic, probiotics, etc. this is the winner.

So I've been getting BV off an on for the past few years. I would get a Rx from my doctor for Metronidazole Gel, which is inserted vaginally before bedtime for about a week and it worked like a charm everytime. Downside is it was $80 a pop! 😩 Also tried flagazole (not sure if I spelled that right) and it worked but developed a yeast infection as a result.

I came across home remedies to cure this God forsaken oder and came across ACV and baking soda. Tried both (separately)and they both seemed to do the trick.

For the baking soda I poured about a spoonful into my hand and washed my "area" with it in the shower. Then rinsed it off after approx. 3-5 mins. Next day I had no symptoms. Then decided to try the ACV, for this method I poured the ACV on my wash cloth and rubbed it in and around the area. Left it on for as long as I could stand the burning sensation which was about 2 mins then washed it off. I know other methods suggest oral intake of water mixed with ACV or baking but I didn't drink it. Just wanted to inform of other methods. Hope this helps you guys. Good luck!!!

Spring Water
Posted by Baby Girl's Mom (Seoul, South Korea) on 02/19/2017

Actually, I was looking for a natural cure for acid reflux that also happened to address issues with women's infections. I had suspected that chlorine in drinking water was the culprit and went online to find information to support my theory. It seemed I hit the jackpot when I found an article written by Robert Reiling, who's knowledge of chemistry and experience working in the water treatment industry led him to conclude that because it is difficult to extract gaseous chlorine (used in water treatment facilities), even filtered or purified water consumed over long periods can lead to certain health problems. Heeding his advice of drinking only SPRING water (not bottled drinking water or "purified" water) my problem with acid reflux seemed to vanish after just one month. Fast forward a year and I have a new health issue with infection. I tried many of the suggestions here but wanted to tackle the root problem. I realized that while traveling I was drinking filtered water and my troubles started about the same time.

So I went back to bottled SPRING water and after about 2 weeks I am happy to report the infection is gone. Sadly I don't live near a spring and I don't feel good about buying plastic bottles, so I make sure to recycle the bottles religiously. I am thrilled that I have found a cure dealing with the root problem and the cost is extremely low compared to the alternatives. One has nothing to lose by trying out bottled SPRING water for a good few months to see how many ailments can miraculously vanish :)

Which homeopathic remedy did you use, and how much folic acid and probiotic? My sister is pregnant, and doctor wants to put her on antibiotic, even though she doesn't even have any symptoms, so it can't be that bad. We would love to try something, that is safe in pregnancy and homeopathics usually are very gentle. Lots of herbs mentioned here are not okay as they induce labor. Thank you in advance.
