IMHO 3 mg of boron is useless. Search YouTube for Dr Jorge Flechas videos on boron. He recommended to my dentist that I start with 90 for 3 months then dropping to 60 for 3 months. Then dropping to a maintenance dose of 30. Every time I decreased my knee started hurting. I had to wait six months for each decrease. I have put off knee replacement for three years and still going. Every time my RA flares up, I up my dose. Currently I am taking 150 mg to combat osteoporosis. According to Dr Flechas this is the dose his wife needed to reverse her osteoporosis. And My RA is doing great.

Boric Acid Ingestion

I accidentally swallowed a gel cap of boric acid which is slightly different than borax ( I think a little more acidic). It was supposed to be a vaginal suppository but I swallowed it by mistake. I was terrified because of what I read on the internet. It said I should get my stomach pumped and run to a poison control center. I stayed calm and waited for symptoms before I took action. The only symptoms I experienced was clarity of mind, clarity in my gut, total disappearance of cravings for chocolate and sugar and meat. Weight loss, glowing skin, more flexibility in my body and less tightness in my hips. :-) I swallowed one capsule only and it's been 2 months and I've continued to look and feel amazing. People comment all the time on how I look better than ever. It's now been about 10 weeks and I'm starting to have some sugar cravings for the first time. I dreamt about chocolate chip cookies last night :-0 I feel like it's time to do another cleanse and try borax instead of boric acid. And trying to decide if I should drink the diluted version or try doing a capsule again. My experience was that one capsule which probably contained about half a teaspoon of boric acid lasted me for 2 months. It seems like it might be a lot to do that daily unless you have really severe symptoms. Any thoughts anyone?

I have a friend who can not take borax at any dose, even a few grains of borax will result in intense itching that lasts for a day or two......possibly an allergic reaction, but borax is not doable for this person. Failing the borax, she tried using boron which started to help her arthritis, but within days of starting on boron supplementation she started to become depressed......the type of depression where you don't want to get out of bed or do anything. She tried decreasing her dose to just 3 mg per day and the depression persisted so she stopped taking it for a few months and tried again, only to return to that depressed state, so she stopped taking boron altogether.

As far as drinking distilled water always, there seems to be varying opinions on that idea. Here is what Dr. Mercola has to say on that subject, suggesting that always drinking distilled water may harm you in the long run and result in early death. I would tend to agree with his findings.

Earth Clinic's Ted recommends ¼ teaspoon (940 mg ~ 1,000 mg) of borax in 1 liter of water for men and 1/8 teaspoon (470 mg ~ 500 mg) of borax in 1 liter of water for women each day. (read article above)

Demodex Mites - Hi Ted,

I'am on my fifth day of the borax treatment 1/4 teaspoon in a liter of water and I have noticed the itching is not as bad anymore. Now I only feel them on my face sometimes when they are moving around. I have been loosing eyelashes for 2months now and I have also been using tea tree oil in all my face products and shampoo. My question is what can I use on my face since it feels so dry after everything I use. I hear that using creams on your skin only makes it worse its like mite food, but I cant stand feeling my face so dry and stretched out. Please advise me on what I should be applying on my face. I also wanted to ask you if the demodex mites could have come from a homemade cream I ordered online since there is no perservatives could it be they live in these creams?

Hair and Scalp

I learned about borax on curezone for itchy painful scalp and decided to try it. Someone else on this site has mentioned how nice her hair is as a result of using the borax. I have NEVER used a hair product- a shampoo or a conditioner that has equalled the lustruous results I have achieved with borax. My hair was dry and straw like now it feels soft and silky and very manageable. The rats nest is gone! I can now comb and brush my hair again without fear of tearing my hair out. If for no other reason, I think everyone should abondon their shampoo and start using borax to wash the hair. As for my scalp? I was pretty desperate the day I tried the borax. My scalp was very sore, there was an inflamed (swollen) ridge on my part and there were tiny bumps like zits forming. I have a theory that hair pullers are reacting to whatever it is that causes these symptoms I experience. I started messing with my hair when I started experiencing all of the above. anyway. after using the borax, pain and itching subsided. bumps scabbed over that same day. soooo gentle. Have you noticed that if you get it in your eyes, it does not burn? I remember when I was a kid, I had some sort of eye infection so I went to the doc and he said I had pink eye and prescribed boric acid ointment. so of course it would be gentle to the eye. I am anxious to try it internally for some of the other issues I have read here on the site.(arthritis, tmj, fibromyalgia)."

I have been using Borax for a year which helps with Arthritis but also with Dupuytren's and Ledderhose. Borax is so helpful, it is amazing and I am stronger and fitter because of it.

It was available in the local supermarket but they have removed it from the shelves now.

If you understand what is happening currently then you will understand why it has been removed from sale.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

A friend had chronic rheumatoid arthritis for a long time before I met the family. I told him to try taking boron in the form of borax, but because of the label on the container, would not - even though I showed him that I take it every day as 'preventative' medicine. So essential as our soils are deficient in it - the reason why sheep and cattle suffer from arthritis.

I showed him the on line publication, "The Borax Conspiracy" which while remaining hesitant, decided to ask his specialist if it was OK to take it.

The reply was, "If it does not do you any good, it will certainly not do you any harm." So he took ¼ teaspoon for two weeks, after which he was pain free and off all his medication for which had to have blood tests every 3 months'.

When he said to the specialist, "I suppose you will recommend this to all your patients?" The reply was: "I am not allowed to." Of course, so many people make money as a result of the suffering of other people.

Borax Dosages

Just a very important note:

The suggested borax doses are very inaccurate! They are based on the premise that a teaspoon of borax is 4 grams. The weight of Borax is NOT 4gm per Teaspoon, it's actually 8.65gm per metric teaspoon, which means you're taking more than double the stated 113mg and 56mg.

In actual fact,

1/8 tsp = 119mg of boron

1/4 tsp = 238 mg of boron

(BORON, not BORAX)

Please don't just cut and paste information without verifying its accuracy!

Boron Vs Borax

I have a question about Borax. Is there a specific reason we are using Borax rather than buying Boron supplements? Since everyone is having questions about dosing and how to mix it, wouldn't it be easier to take pre measured supplements? Is it for cost purposes or is there another reason?

I tried mixing my dishwasher detergent with Borax and found my dishes and glasses sparkled. Not a spot on them. I no longer have to buy Jet Dry.

WOW! This is great i never knew Borax could do so much! I've been using it for almost two years to wash my hair and body with. My hair is soft and shiny, like baby hair and i'm 54 years old! I rinse with 1/4 teas. of citric acid mixed in a pint of water. Together they are the best! No more itchy scalp, no more chemically laden shampoo! Now i'm going to try using it to get rid of Candida!

For women...if you are having trouble having an orgasm the borax remedy is for you. After struggling for over a year, just a few days of taking this and I have never had a problem since.

drink 1-2 tsp daily of this 1-liter mixture. I am a woman in my 50's. I put 1/8 tsp of Borax in a regular 16.5 water bottle (mark the cap with a large B! ). You only drink 1-2 tsp of this mixture daily. One water bottle will last you close to a month.

Borax Toothpaste

Borax works great for not just bad breath, but in a toothpaste too. I make it with approx 1tsp coconut oil organic, 1tsp borax, mix till all blend nicely, ok maybe still feel some grainy texture here and there. also add drops of teatree oil at first, but actually prefer adding a drop or two when putting on a toothbrush, right before brushing. Once all brushed nicely, I then pull the oily content as in “oil pulling”, then spit out after 2mins.

Adding borax makes substantial difference in how my gums feel afterwards.

Dr. Mercola is wrong. I've been drinking 1 1/2 gallon a day since 2014 and after 4 or 5 days I started to get a pressure headache, which was a detox symptom. After 18 to 30 days I had more energy. He also said it will leach minerals from your body, it will but only the bad ones, not the ones you get from fruit and vegs.

Can you please tell me how to make a simple emulsion of borax, coconut oil and water? I can't and haven't used commercial shampoos or soaps for years because they make my skin very dry and uncomfortable and I like to use more natural things. Recently I started using borax because my other options weren't really getting my hair clean enough and it works great but dryness is becoming an issue for me again now because of it. However I want to continue using the borax because it's natural and it gets my hair clean. I was thinking if I mix it with oil that could combat the drying factor but I don't want to be left oily either so I need to know how to make it mix and emulsify like mayonnaise so it will rinse away without leaving me oily. I would like to make it rather thin so it's easy to put through my hair. Can you tell just a basic instruction of how much of each thing of coconut oil, borax and water and how to do them so that they emulsify together properly?

I've been using Borax for exactly one week now. 5 days on, 2 days off. I use a 1/4 teaspoon per 100ml of distilled water. I also take a triple magnesium supplement along with zinc. I am now going to incorporate food grade hydrogen peroxide. I haven't felt this clear in a long time. I also experience gas like side effects. That's about it. I will continue to use this for the next 4 months.

After five months of use I feel I qualify to respond. Before the use of borax my skin was always dry, tight, red and itchy. The powerful scents and perfumes of regular shower products could be smothering. I now have no desire to use anything but borax in the shower and on my face. Also I have always had an itchy scalp but no longer. Washing the hair with borax is alot like washing it with beach sand (not very nice :))but the results were undeniable for me, no more itch. Unlike other EC posters I am not pleased with the results of using borax alone so after a good scrub and rinse with borax I do shampoo with a regular shampoo. Overall I give borax a big YEA, I am sure my husband will give it a thumbs up also. Although he has the most beautiful skin his only skin issue is back acne which has easily improved by 90% since using borax in addition to regular products (he likes the smelly stuff). Thank you to everyone.

I have been taking borax internally for 5 days. I haven't been following the 1/4 tsp/gal rule but have been taking it mixed in hot green tea because I needed to drink a lot of tea and I noticed the borax dissolves better in hot water. Because I didn't have a good method of measuring precisely into 8 oz I just take the tip of my finger, dip it in the borax and whatever sticks to my finger I put in the tea. So far no ill effects so I don't believe I am overdosing. I have been drinking upwards of 10 cups of green tea and Shizandra detox tea (for liver, chest congestion, and cough) per day for the last 5 days. Also I started drinking ACV 2 tbsp and 1/2 tsp baking soda in 8 oz of water yesterday. I also started oil pulling 4 days ago. I mention these other remedies in case they have had an effect on the progress of my illness, but I believe most of the progress has been due to the borax (although the oil pulling is remarkable at removing plaque and tartar, my mouth feels like I just came from the dentist).

I don't usually get sick but my health has been rapidly deteriorating for about 5 weeks. It took me awhile and some research to link the strange acne, skin rash near my eye, and intense sinus headache without much mucus and sensitivity to beer to going to a friend's house for his birthday last month. His pit bull has an odd skin condition unidentified by vets with redness and some hair loss which they say is not mange (not that I have confidence that they would know). I know this because I remember he asked me about it and I gave him an oil mixture of emu oil, VCO, and immune boosting and skin healing essential oils which he says has improved the condition. Anyway I came to conclusion that I had contracted whatever disease the dog has by petting the dog and then probably rubbing my eye. I imagine it involves mites or other small insect, fungus and/or yeast. I have very sensitive acne prone skin, but my acne has been generally under control due to diet, OCM, etc. until just the past few weeks where I broke out with increased rosacea-like redness and odd cysts that did not want to heal. I also had a nonstop sinus headache which drinking more water did not help without much drainage and a cough which did not produce much phlegm. After a couple days of research (which is how I came across the borax treatment for mites and fungus) I self-diagnosed myself as having a combination of candida, fungus infection of lungs and sinuses, and mites infecting the skin. I think I may have already had the candida (probably from working in bars around so much secondhand toxic smoke) and it depressed my immune system.

The very first day I started taking the borax I began to pee green which I was very pleased about since I knew it was from die off. I peed green on and off for a couple of days, and my pee still has a slight tinge to it at times, but I believe most of the candida, bacteria etc. is dead by now. (BTW, I had already been drinking copious amounts of green tea for a couple of days without this effect so I know it was due to the borax) I also treated my face with the borax/H2O2 in water and the acne and rash were almost gone after two days, and the spots are now healing. A rather disturbing effect of the borax taken internally is that you could feel it working. I now know exactly where all my sinus cavities and canals are because I could feel them burning one after another (I did not know I had a cavity in the top of my head and back of my head linked by canals behind the ears and over the top of the head and behind the eyes to the sinus cavities in front. I wonder what these are called?). Interestingly my bad wrist and toes would burn also, and a small area of my lower left abdomen (inflamed intestine maybe?). The most disturbing sensation was to feel critters die all over my body in the middle of the night. Needless to say I did not sleep well, the sensation could drive a person raving mad. Also, yesterday morning after oil pulling my right nostril began to drain lots of thin watery and waxy clear yellow-orange fluid. I have no idea where that was from but I assume it was a good thing to get rid of it.

Three days into the borax treatment my week long headache went away. The strange acne is now healed (5 days - internal and external treatment). I still cough and have some chest congestion but now at least I am coughing productively. I am hoping the chest congestion will clear up soon. My bad wrist and toes do not hurt as much nor pop as much as they used to. Possibly I had beginning stages of RA (I am 29) and the borax killed of the mycoplasma? I don't know but I am happy about it, I didn't expect the treatment to help.
