Borax Cures and Health Benefits

Borax is an increasingly popular natural remedy for a host of health issues.

Commonly used as a natural cleaning agent, borax's reported number of successful treatments and health benefits are extensive. Additionally, this remedy is easy to make and very inexpensive.

Earth Clinic readers have used the borax remedy for over 15 years to treat chronic illnesses, including autoimmune diseases, hormone problems, and chronic pain.

Sodium borate is also helpful for treating a variety of specific ailments. As an anti-inflammatory agent, borax effectively treats arthritis, gout, swollen gums, and other inflammatory diseases.

Additionally, the substance eliminates bladder infections, urinary tract infections, and others.

Borax is also frequently used to treat cancer, obesity, high blood pressure, arterial disease, and osteoporosis.

What is Borax?

Borax is a naturally occurring compound found all around the world. You can find borax mines in countries like the United States, China, Ukraine, Turkey, and India. The largest known borax mine is the Rio Tinto Borax Mine in Boron, California. The reserves in this mine are expected to last until 2050. The chemical formula for borax is Na2B4O7·10H2O.

This includes sodium, boron, oxygen, and hydrogen in simpler terms. Borax has several names, but they are all the same chemical compounds.

Common Names for Borax:

  • Sodium tetraborate
  • Sodium borate
  • Disodium tetraborate

Borax Health Benefits

Shocking as it sounds to some, a liquid borax solution is consumed by thousands of people worldwide as a natural daily remedy for many health conditions.

Borax is a natural substance mined from the earth, just like salt. Borax contains boron, a trace mineral, which can be lacking in modern diets. According to research, restoring healthy boron levels can improve many health conditions like arthritis.

Additionally, borax is quite alkaline. Many health problems arise because the body is too acidic.

What Health Issues Benefit from Borax?

  • Arthritis
  • Trigger Finger and Trigger Thumb
  • Osteoporosis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Bone Spurs
  • Calcium Deposits
  • Lupus
  • Autoimmune Disease
  • Hormone Imbalances
  • Fungus
  • Candida
  • Ringworm
  • Tinea Versicolor
  • Insomnia
  • Rough Skin
  • Impotence

If you wonder how some white powder could help various illnesses, consider a tower made of blocks. Removing one of them, especially a foundation block, compromises the stability of the entire building. Thus is it with the body. The human body exercises countless processes in many of the body's systems. These processes are dependent upon "building blocks."

Vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, etc., are necessary for your body to work well. Remove any one of them, and all body processes are affected.

Boron, a trace mineral and a borax component are one of those many necessary nutrients in your body. Many diseases found in the world today are related to simple nutritional deficiencies. Restoring a low nutrient can make a huge difference in your overall health.

Boron is necessary for the body for proper hormone function and calcium-magnesium balance.

Studies have found that the incidence of arthritis is lower when daily boron intake is higher (3-10 mg as opposed to 1 mg or less). Additionally, the bones of those who take boron supplements are more challenging than those who do not take boron supplements.

How Much Boron is in Borax?

One US teaspoon of borax powder contains about 4 grams of borax, so ¼ teaspoon contains about 1 gram of borax. One gram of borax is 11.3% boron. So ¼ teaspoon of borax has approximately 113 mg of boron.

Borax Dosage for Men and Women

Earth Clinic's Ted recommends ¼ teaspoon (940 mg ~ 1,000 mg) of borax in 1 liter of water for men and 1/8 teaspoon (470 mg ~ 500 mg) of borax in 1 liter of water for women each day. This would give men about 113 mg of boron each day they drink the solution and women about 56 mg of boron each day.

You will find more dosing information on this page.

Walter Last has popularized another method of dosing borax. He recommends adding a heaping teaspoon to a liter of water and then taking one teaspoon of this borax solution once or twice daily. This solution delivers 25-30 mg of borax (and thus about 3 mg of boron) per dose. He recommends taking it with meals.

Borax Uses

Cleaning

The most common use of borax is as a "green" cleaning aid, especially for laundry.

Because borax has an alkaline (high) pH of 9.3, you can add it to the washing machine to soften the water. Hard water is hard on clothes and makes it more challenging to clean them. Some people already have soft (alkaline) water, and borax is unnecessary.

Borax is one of three ingredients in popular DIY laundry powder.

Borax is also used as an eco-cleaning powder for the bathroom. It is beneficial for hard water stains.

Parasites

Borax is a popular and safe remedy for pest control. It has helped thousands of dogs and cats with mange and people with various parasite problems, including lice and mites.

Hair

Borax has become popular as a shampoo alternative. Various chemicals in shampoos and health conditions that affect the scalp have motivated many people to turn to hair care's "no-poo" method.

Borax is not only a natural alternative to chemical-laden shampoos because of its alkalinity and anti-fungal properties; it often brings healing to chronic and embarrassing scalp conditions.

Borax Instructions for Hair

  • To use borax for your hair, dissolve 1 cup of borax into one gallon of pure water.
  • Keep this solution in the shower.
  • Pour 1-2 cups of this solution over your hair (instead of shampoo), ensuring the solution gets to your scalp.
  • Allow the solution to sit on your scalp and hair for a few minutes, and then rinse.
  • If you find the borax method dries out your hair, take a small amount of coconut oil and massage it into your hair. You may not need to use the borax solution on your hair more than once or twice a week.

How Should I Store My Borax Solution?

If you make Walter Last's solution with distilled water and store it in a clean glass jar, you will avoid impurities contaminating the mixture. This will maximize the shelf life of the solution. For even more exceptional preservation of this solution, store it in the refrigerator and always use a clean stainless steel spoon to take your dose out of the jar. If your solution looks cloudy or smells off to you, discard it and make another batch.

Are There Any Side Effects From Taking Borax?

Yes, some people experience some side effects from taking borax. You will find more information about side effects and reader-reported side effects on this page.

To avoid your risk of side effects, always start with a smaller dose and monitor how it affects you. While the relative lethal dose (LD50) of borax is similar to that of table salt, it is always wise to be careful with your dosages.

One simple remedy that will help with borax side effects that many people experience the first few days while detoxing, such as stomach pain, diarrhea, and gas, can be alleviated by taking3 activated charcoal capsules or tablets at night before bedtime.

Make sure to also drink plenty of water during the first week or two of taking borax for the first time. Your body will need extra hydration while it purges toxins.

I too have found a huge, albeit unexpected, improvement in my gut since taking borax powder (This didn't happen whenI was taking borax supplements in tablet form). Pretty much since the day I ran out of the tablets and used 'cleaning' borax (pure with no additives) I have noticed this effect. I told my mother about it as she too has had major gut issues that have caused her serious pain for over 20 years. She has been diagnosed with IBS and told basically that she has to live with it. She too has had next to no issues since taking borax powder (1 tsp dissolved in 1 Liter of water, then add 1 tsp of this liquid to a glass of water to drink every day, sometimes 2x a day.)

You don't drink the whole thing, you drink 1-2 tsp daily of this 1-liter mixture. I am a woman in my 50's. I put 1/8 tsp of Borax in a regular 16.5 water bottle (mark the cap with a large B! ). You only drink 1-2 tsp of this mixture daily. One water bottle will last you close to a month.

There are two methods of taking this 20 Mule Team Borax powder. One is to put one teaspoon of the powdered borax in a liter of water and then use this by putting a teaspoon of this water in a glass of water once or twice daily. The second way is according to Ted's advice which is for men to put 1/4 teaspoon of the 20 Mule Team Borax into a glass of water once daily and drink the whole glass. He also recommended for women to put 1/8 teaspoon of the Borax into a glass of water once daily. I have read where it's according to your weight and that some women can use the man's dosage.

For me, I am a little heavier at 200 lbs and a woman and what works for me is I started with the 1/8 tsp in water, it worked well for me, I started slowly for a week or so and I also read to take a magnesium capsule once daily to offset any symptoms as this borax seems to work hand in hand with the magnesium. I take one 500mg magnesium capsule in the morning with breakfast. This works for me. After doing well with the 1/8 of a tsp of the 20 mule team borax I upped the dosage to where I take this two times per day in a hot large cup of coffee.

I have taken this for a month now and it seems to be helping me with the stiffness in my shoulder joints which I could not raise above my shoulder level without pain before and can raise straight up now, much stronger with very little pain if any and I run my rototiller about once a week, have a large garden and work daily on two acres, keeping it mowed and taken care of. Plus I am almost 70 yrs old. This has also been helping to dissolve my kidney stones and has helped my IBS very much. Helped my partner's arthritis in his knees a lot also. So for me this works well.

Prioris, Bill, Ted, and TimH..etc: Thank you all so much for your informative posts on borax. They have explained my mild die-off reaction (herxheimer effect) from using it. I shall cut back a bit on the intake and continue on.

For the record, my apparent die-off reaction consists only of morning diarrhea.

The apparent positive effects that I have noticed recently have been that my chronic abdominal bloating has all but completely disappeared (I've literally had that for decades). Along with the bloating, general abdominal pain and discomfort have also all but disappeared, which included daily, middle-of-the-night deep burning pain in my gut.

Please note, that along with starting the borax regime, I have also started the “water cure” (Google it), which involves properly hydrating your body. These two remedies have removed a dark cloud of dismal depression that many digestive-related issues have caused me for many years. It feels like I have a new life. Cheers and blessing to all!!

I read thru comments. It's “funny “ how many people can't educate themselves thru their own observations and symptoms. Of course, school medicine isn't helping either. To many doctors are 30-40 years behind todays knowledge. What is Borax? It's simple question. Detergent. It dissolve fats. Clean dirty fat from things. What are most dangerous toxins in human body? Don't ask doctors. Fat soluble. If you are lucky, you are going to store them in fat tissues. If not, organs and arteries. Liver is working hardest from 11 pm till 3 am. If you woke up and have heartburn, or can not get back to sleep, thats liver recycling old stored toxic fats. Ooops. I forget that I am not “ medicine man”. Take fiber and binders to stop recycling of toxins and lower Herxeimer reaction. Toxins are really corrosive, especially heavy metals( positiv charged/ different story). Turpentine? Solvent. MCT C8? Solvent.... When Herxing, don't take fish, krill oil, Vitamin D, sardines....

It is a detergent, my grandmother used it in our launder in the 50's and 60's else why would she use salt to wash clothes?

John

No it is not a detergent and clearly you do not understand the chemistry of detergents and soaps which are totally different but accomplish similar goals under differing conditions.

Borax is a salt that contains the mineral boron. Before we had water softener's and treated public water works if you had hard water it would not clean very well. So you had to add something to it like Borax or Washing Soda. This was because we used Laundry "Soap" later on things like water softeners for people on wells and the development of Laundry "Detergent" changed all of that.

The addition of Borax to the washer made the soap work better by softening the water. Just like old laundry soaps needed hot water to clean well but the development of laundry detergent changed that and allowed for the use of cold water in most cases.

Sadly not only do most people not understand any of this marketing plays fast and lose with the terms soap and detergent they are chemically completely different things but both can be used for cleaning! Just like enzymes can be used for cleaning but they are neither a soap or a detergent! Words matter and science matters!

Borax is a mineral just like iron, aluminium, calcium, magnesium. We use mineral for all kinds of things my favorite automotive grease is calcium sulfonate based. We use calcium and magnesium in antacids for an upset stomach. Lithium is used to treat bipolar disorder but also to make car batteries, phone batteries and most popular general purpose grease.

Depending on how you treat an element and what else to mix in with you you can make all kinds of things both things good for our bodies and things that are bad for us. The form matters and the science matters!

For the record, Washing Soda is not Baking Soda. Never confuse the two. You will often use Washing Soda to make bath bombs and Baking Soda as an antacid or a number of other things. They are not the same thing and Washing Soda should be treated with the same care and caution as you would treat Lye. All of the above are common in a house especially 10-20 years ago for sure.

We put a lot of minerals into the form of a salt. We must have sodium to survive you die without it. If you tried to eat pure sodium, it would blow your jaw off of your face and probably kill you. Instead we eat "Sodium Chloride" sodium chloride does not spontaneously explode in the presence of water. Likewise we do not eat elemental calcium we eat calcium that is bound to something like calcium carbonate or calcium citrate etc....

You could even use google "Is Borax a detergent" and you could see it is not a detergent but is a detergent booster and that it is Sodium Borate and its other forms!

Lastly, if you just add Borax to your washer, you will not get very clean clothes outside of what the water and agitation alone can do. By itself Borax does almost nothing to clean clothes.

I have been using Borax for about more than 8 years now. While it does not do much for me besides correct my poor absorption of Vitamin D it has been almost a miracle for my Dad and my wife. Well I should say it has not worked to reduce my painful joints, arthritis or calcium deposits. It did all of those things though for my Dad and for my wife. Hard to say what it is or is not doing inside your body but I keep using it because it can not hurt!

Borax is anti-bacterial and anti fungal which is the reason it's so good to add to a laundry..It also chelates heavy metals from your body-another reason it's so good for arthritis etc. etc.

Nigel

11/21/2022

Do you really understand the process of chelation? Every heavy metal has a unique chelation process that's accelerated or inhibited by entirely different compounds. There's no such thing as a wonder-chelation compound that simply rolls into the body and chelates heavy metals non-specifically. And if there WAS, it would probably kill you because the process of chelation involves the UNbinding of heavy metals from wherever they've wound up, which temporarily turns them into free agents and liable to end up deposited elsewhere in the body. To properly complete the chelation process for A SPECIFIC heavy metal you need to open up the channels that first release the metal and then facilitate its proper excretion so it doesn't just end up moving from a muscle tissue into your brain or heart.

So on that note, do you have any evidence for borax/boron being a chelation agent? Because if so I would strongly recommend AGAINST taking it, unless you fully understand chelation and are aware of all the other potential chelation agents that you might already be taking and how they might interact with this particular mechanism.

Borax instead of soap:

After reading all of the information about borax on the earthclinic website, I decided to experiment with it.

I started using borax in place of the liquid bodywash that I normally used in the shower. I have always had breakouts on my chest and back and have tried everything (acne creams, soaps, kits for problem skin, alcohol, changing laundry detergent) and never had any lasting success keeping my skin clear from breakouts.

Well let me tell you, since I started using the borax to wash myself with, my skin is COMPLETELY CLEAR! I've been using the borax now for about two months straight and will never go back to bodywash. I also started using it on my face and I will no longer buy facial cleansers again since the borax works so well. I still do use regular shampoo. I tried using just borax to wash my hair and the first day my hair looked great but the following two days my hair looked terrible. I now add a small handful of borax to my shampoo and use that with very good results. It is winter in NJ right now and usually I have a lot of static in my hair, but the borax seems to be counteracting that. I attribute the lack of static to the borax as that is the only different thing I am doing.

One last thing, the borax that I am using is the stuff you can get in the laundry aisle--20 Mule team borax. I love using borax and I love the Earthclinic website!

As to dosages, please check previous postings on borax toxicity I been through that so many times. If you are still not convinced, then don't do it. As to the link you submitted, borax according to them is toxic at 0.6 mg/ml -- that is equivalent in drinking terms 600 grams per liter. That is hardly the dose I am considering. The dosage I use is 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon (women requires low dose 1/8 then men 1/4 because of their size) per liter of water. That means it is added in all liters you drink and you determine if that remedy is helping you, and it doesn't require a long time, you should know within 3 to 7 days at the most. It is an essential mineral and the dose is much less than LD50. I calculate my dose assuming you weigh only one kilogram and need just 1/2 of that is my calculations for maximum dose and it is lower still if the person has any side effects on that amount. Therefore, the dose of 1/8 for women's dose is based on that.

As to details of ankylosing spondylitis, I don't have many patients here, probably I seen one or two. What I can conclude with certainty is it helps. The autoimmune disease for all mycoplasma and mycobacterium is really simple, the mycobacterium enters healthy cells and infects the inner cells, that's why is is so difficult to kill it and that is why they referred to as attacking healthy cells, but they are not healthy. Suppressing immune system would hardly be the way to go.

However there are a couple of avenues I found where we can kill them from the inside. Remember that nearly all antibiotics are useless with attacking the inside the cells they do not enter the insides of cells. There is one or two antibiotics that does get inside the cells - one is doxycycline the second one is minocycline. For the desperate I guess they will even try the second one. The doxycycline use is a lot better, which is one capsule and twice a day for the first time, and thereby once a day it takes about a week to know some effect but the people here it takes them only a day. Minocycline is a generally not recommended because of side effects, but those who do not respond will try it anyway. It causes nausea.

As to the borax, you can mix with hydrogen peroxide 3% one capful per 1 liter of water and 1/8 teaspoon. It hardly has any side effects, unless you have other issues, such as metal poisoning, in that case we treat metal poisoning first such as mercury poisoning amalgam or lead poisoning, in which case I prefer to use disodium EDTA or my favorite tetra Sodium EDTA, as it is less acidic. Without the metal poisoning it will be a bit easier by skipping this step and add take borax with hydrogen peroxide. In order to allow the body some breathing room between oxidation and anti-oxidation, you can try hydrogen peroxide for 5 days and no hydrogen peroxide for 2 days, and borax for all days.

The other way I have developed of killing the infection from the inside the cells is DMSO and Lugol's with aloe vera oil applied from the outside. That works too. There is also another method I have tried which is Castor oil with DMSO, that works too. And then if he doesn't respond to that one, this respond positively no matter what is the DMSO with tannic acid, where tannic acid is given at 1/8 teaspoon per 100 cc of DMSO and mixed with 30% to 50% water. As to the castor oil and DMSO is mixed with 50% each. As to the Lugol's and DMSO it's just applying Lugol's the area and then apply DMSO, then to relieve the inflammation I apply the aloe vera oil.

That's just the initial success then to help you way to recovery I probably require aloe vera oil drops between 5 to 10 drops, magnesium chloride solution 8 drops three times a day, and some 5000 i.u. of vitamin D2 or vitamin D3.

There is one thing you have to be aware of, normal antibiotics takes 9 months that's just for doxycycline. so I expected any natural remedies would take that long too, because mycobacterium that lines the inside the cells takes time, but if you do things right it may require less time.

In Bangkok things are a little strange. I chase clients because I think I have a cure, but people from Earthclinic at least, they are chasing me! There's probably an explanation in order as to why this occurs. It seems as if people here have the cure or at least something that will help them for their condition and therefore I am just drowned by other competitors! Since competition usually wins out (hospitals and other alternative healers) I spend my day typing out remedies if I have a free time.

Ted

P.S. The website mentioned in your post is administering a toxic dose even at 0.1 mg per milliliter works out to 100 mg per 100 milliliter works out to 1000 grams per 1000 milliliter. My dose is 1/8 teas per 1000 milliter or 1 liter.

Thanks Ted for your detailed response. I dont like the thought of antibiotic treatment as I know how important the bacteria in my gut is to my entire system and would prefer to go 'naturally'. So, after much research on EC, I am going to attempt the following regime to try to kill mycoplasma and alleviate my Ankylosing Spondylitis. Colloidial Silver, EDTA, Borax & Hydrogen Perioxide, followed by Calcium Bentonite then MSM (cannot purchase DSMO) with Lugols transdermally. Aloe, D3, etc to assist healing. Will let you know the outcome. Thanks again. Lee

So Borax is vilified as toxic to humans for one main reason and that is greed. Back in Victorian Great Britain dairy industry figured out that if you loaded rotten milk with insane amounts of Boron it tasted and smelled fine allowing them to make more profits. The amounts they added where so large it caused bone malformations especialy to peoples spines. Just like mills and bakers would cut the flour with sawdust and other types of stuff. These practices where outlawed. So even though we are today talking about super small doses and it has been established that Boron is essential just look at Canadian multi vitamins and their recommendations they include Boron. It is still vilified to this day. Iodine is vilified and dosed too low in the USA as is Vitamin D3 in spite of all the research we have!

The borax mix treatment:

I had pain in my knees and fingers. I started using this mix and its only been one week and my knees don't ache going up the stairs. I will continue for a while longer. My daughter had a foul breath and the second day after taking the mix she has no bad breath.

I have been using Borax for a year which helps with Arthritis but also with Dupuytren's and Ledderhose. Borax is so helpful, it is amazing and I am stronger and fitter because of it.

It was available in the local supermarket but they have removed it from the shelves now.

If you understand what is happening currently then you will understand why it has been removed from sale.

Hi,

I started taking borax 2 months ago. For arthritis in my knee which exploded skiing. I also developed the most painful disease known: Complex regional pain syndrome, or CRPS. This was 2 1/2 years ago. At that time I also found out I had herpes. After taking borax for only 24 hours I was able to walk 3 miles. Herpes outbreaks stopped.

The BIG problem is the side effects. Gut side effects. I sure don't want to quit borax, but am concerned about the gut pain. Can anyone tell me what happens in the gut to cause this pain?

In reply to Kate (Co),

I'm glad to hear that borax has helped your arthritis, herpes and CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)!

I have gotten stomach pain after taking borax, but this is mainly because I have drank too much at one time on an empty stomach. If I drink it as Ted suggests by sipping the liter bottle throughout the day, then I have no stomach problems. I also don't start sipping until after I have eaten breakfast which helps avoid the empty stomach issue.

You don't say what dose of borax you are taking or how you are taking it. Ted's recommended dose for women is 1/8th of a teaspoon in a liter of water sipped throughout the day or basically a slow release rate which would be less likely to cause stomach upset or other adverse events.

If you are already taking it per his recommendations and are still having stomach pain, perhaps you can try lessening your dose.

The fact that you say you got relief in 24 hours of your first dose suggests that you may be able to get by with a significantly lesser dose than whatever you are currently taking. The majority of people testing borax have mentioned results in time periods of days, weeks or months so a matter of just hours is very fast and perhaps you are very sensitive to borax and could possibly get by with significantly less. For example, let's say that you are taking Ted's recommended dose for women of 1/8th teaspoon dissolved in a liter of water, try cutting that down by half, to 1/16th teaspoon in a liter of water. If you don't have a 1/16th teaspoon to measure with, just take your normal one liter mix containing 1/8th teaspoon of borax and divide it in half by pouring half of your liter bottle into another one liter bottle. You should now have two one liter bottles with a half liter each. Top these two bottles off with purified water and you now have a two day supply of half of Ted's recommended dose for women or 1/16th teaspoon per liter.

Kate, please keep us posted on how your experiment with borax goes so that others here can learn from your experience.

I wonder if the stomach pain could be because Borax is alkaline it might decrease your stomach acid and lead to indigestion when you eat?? Purely speculative. Inversely, taking an alkaline solution on an empty stomach can stimulate release of additional acid (in anticipation that you are eating) - this excess stomach acid with no food to digest could cause stomach pain as well.

Borax is a strong anti-oxidant or positive ion. It will attack and break double bonds in chemical compounds by causing the electrons to draw to it. Double bonds allow electrons to circulation between multiple carbon atoms so the positive ion can draw electrons from a few atoms away. It has a preference for large chemical compounds. By and large our bodies don't use large compounds (Vitamin K2 is an immediate exception I think of as I say this). So this anti-oxidant is effective in removing chemistry we don't want.

if you you have an ulcer there is a weak spot in the stomach lining. Borax will attack the tissue there and cause pain.

Try drinking more of a diluted solution. This is what happens in the blood stream. If you have an ulcer, that needs to be healed first. I have written an ebook that explains this and more. It is better written and more complete than I can write on the fly on a blog. Amazon kindle, The Healthy Truth by John Taylor.

I know why it causes digestion issues. Borax is alkaline and neutralizes stomach acid. It's a good idea to take it with apple cider vinegar.

Taking activated charcoal for a few days will help with any gut symptoms from the borax protocol. Stomach should settle after that. I took 3 capsules at night two nights in a row and stomach pain disappeared.

Aspergillus Lesions

Interesting after getting a number of what are probably Aspergillus Lesions on different areas of my body - particularly the back of my hands. Which occurred after removing a ridiculous amount of mold off this crummy 60 year old rotting unventilated house in an area that has a year round average humidity of 80 to 100% (lots of fog). Initially, months ago I started with things like NeoSporin, and other AntiBiotic creams - not to mention wasted time and $$$$$ going to Doctors - It finally occurred to me these are Fungus or Mold infections on my skin - never heard of that before - funny none of the Doctors even mentioned it might be a fungus or mold.

Anyhow been through Tolnaftate, Butenafine, Magnesium Sulfate, Iodine etc. etc. lesions would get better then come back.

Finally now after two weeks of using Borax along with just regular hand soap and washing my whole body in it daily all my skin itching is GONE! The backs of my hands look completely normal (I can't believe it!) - every time I wash now I use Borax along with just some regular hand soap. Now I have to admit that initially for the first few days the infected areas turned bright red - like a sunburn - and itched like crazy but now the skin there looks totally normal and does not itch anymore. Had a lesion on my back for quite some time and now it is almost completely undetectable (this old moldy house YUCK!) Wash all my clothes in it and have taken a empty baby powder bottle, filled it with borax and I sprinkle the inside back of my tshirts with it in morning, and then spray it with a combination of distilled water and magnesium sulfate. I can't wait to see that area on my back finally completely disappear.

Borax for athletes foot:

After trying everything else you could buy at the store for his pretty much life long athletes foot problem - and not having results my boyfriend finally decided to try the remedy I kept telling him to try... borax - which he thought was poison him instantly but he 'trusted' the OTC stuff at the store!!! LOL

He wet his feet and then took a handful and rubbed it all over his feet.

He said they stopped itching immediately! He was stunned.

A few weeks later I asked him how his athletes foot was and he said: oh wow! It hasn't come back! That stuff totally cured it!!!

Now he tells all his friends about borax ;)

I would like to know - after rubbing his feet with Borax how long did he let it stay on or if he let it dry without washing off?

EC: Let it dry without washing it off.

I agree the drugs I was taking for rheumatoid arthritis almost destroyed my mind.

I was taking Leflunomide 20 MG and Prednisone, this combination was a nightmare for me. Now I drink Borax and also drink Marshmallow root tea and I feel so much better my fingers are no longer swollen and the stiffness in my shoulders has improved after only 1 week.

I have scleroderma. My hands were sore, stiff and swelling. Getting digital ulcers every couple of mths. The borax protocol seem to help the symptoms plus was feeling better in general. I also take colloidal silver msm in green juice, water kefir, probiotics, colostrum plus some other supplements and essential oils. Autoimmune disease is epidemic and yet you hear very little about it. It effects each person individually. Drs just want to give us drugs to suppress the symptoms instead of attacking the root cause of the disease and seems like the research doesn't do anything to prevent the disease. It all starts with leaky gut syndrome. When we can't absorb essential nutrients then our bodies cannot fight off invaders or heal itself. Most AI patients are deficient in Vit. D3, boron and K2. If the body does not have theses essential components then you develop disease such as cancer or AI. They say 1 in 200 people have these diseases and most do not know it. So bringing awareness to people is critical to getting a cure and methods of prevention.

I find the Borax is effective. So when someone worries about the "safety" of the this I always tell them the drugs that are prescribed for my illness are far more "dangerous" than this. LOL.

I haven't met another person with scleroderma.. I have it down my thigh. I also have arthritis in every joint and fibromyalgia. I'm just so shocked to finally read a comment about someone having something I have.. and I've never met another person that has it!

I started drinking 1/8 tsp to a liter/quart of water today.

I have autoimmune issues, including low thyroid, and the past 2 years have been fighting with rosacea which seems to be caused by mites. Mites increase when the body is stressed and immune system down.

Anyway, as weird as it is to say I'm drinking laundry detergent :), 20 mule team Borax from the laundry aisle for $4.97 is what I am using.

I created a paste of borax and hydrogen peroxide in my hand and used it on my face.

Better But With Side Effects

An Update.

My face cleared up by day 4. I washed my wash with about a tsp of borax at night and have been drinking 1/8 tsp in a liter of water through the day (4 days on, 3 days off).

Day 6, I guess I experienced what they call "DIE OFF". Felt very ill. Had 3 instances within 90 minutes where I became nauseous, very warm very fast, rapid heat rate and profuse sweating (within a 10-15 period), where I had to seek shade and dump water all over me. I even came close to needing to lie flat on my back but was able to recover. I went home after the 3rd time.

Today is Day 11. Still tired and not much appetite, achy all last night. Tomorrow I will cycle off Borax again.

The "sickness" you are experiencing is the "die-off" of the toxins and/or parasites, etc. They need to be MOVED OUT OF YOUR BODY! You need to make CERTAIN that you are having bowel movements at least 2x per day! This is how they EXIT THE BODY! If you are not have 2 BM's a day, do the research you need to do to make that happen. Bentonite clay moves them out. Psyllium husks. There are tons of things you can do. Do an enema. GET THE TOXINS OUT! That is why you are feeling sick and tired.

Magnesium tablets at bed each night will help pooping. If not, increase dose by 1/2 tablet each night until desired effect is reached.
