To everyone: My BP tonite was 158/96. I immediately drank water with one heaping tsp of Calm magnesium powder. Now, it's 135/83. That's a huge decrease!

I've ordered Magnesium Glycinate, because Calm is Citrate which will soften the stools too much. The Glycinate supposedly doesn't.

My BP has been systolic 200/273. diastolic 100/120 for around 15 years now. Only in the past two years have I tried their meds, 3 different ones

3 different times. The most I lasted was 5 days, I could not believe the side effects of such small pills!

I do not take any other meds and am 77 years old. We eat organic, exercise. I follow many different natural therapies that you all talk about but nothing seems to change. I do not feel ill, only unwell if it goes as high as 270 so perhaps am fortunate. Whatever, I do know that the pills for this would finish me off real fast as my body obviously rejects what I believed to be OK. Haven't tried the Aloe Vera but will give it a try. Good luck everyone and know that toxic meds are NEVER an answer.

Arginine, NAC

Arginine alone did not lower my blood pressure. The addition of N Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) with the arginine did and my results were better than those achieved in the study that I posted previously.

Vida,

Yes, I tried a supplement that is working exceptionally well for myself and a couple of friends as well as two people from the EC community to lower our blood pressure into the normal range. We were all able to get off prescription meds. Here is a link to what I wrote about it :

Hello Art! Such wonderful work you have been doing on High Blood Pressure over a long time. So many people could benefit from your persistent research. A HUGE number of people around the world suffer from HBP and a BIG chunk of them don't even realize that they have it and are setting themselves up for BIG problems later in life. Their diets and lifestyle could probably do with considerable modification, thus hopefully avoiding the later use of the drugs you mention! The top THREE offending populations in the World are now (in descending order of seriousness): USA, Mexico and New Zealand!! WOW, we are members of a pretty, exclusive club! But, one theory I have heard espoused in "Medical Circles" is that a slight elevation of BP is permissible with each passing, successive decade as one gets older! Some of our doctors see patients with LOW blood pressure and, naturally, that is a concern also! I am just wondering what your thoughts are on this and whether you have written about this at some stage and I have missed it? Wishing you well. Cheers from Down Under

Take activated barley, barley grass juice powder, raw cocoa powder, desiccated liver, aged garlic, skate liver oil, cayenne, expeller pressed coconut oil, black chia seeds, yucca liquid, and unrefined sea salt.

Hi Rj...The cause of your high blood pressure may well be due to hormonal imbalances in your body. Taking progesterone is useful, but this is really only treating the symptoms -- because your body is already lacking in progesterone (due to hormonal imbalance -- the realcause) and so you are not actually addressing the main reason or cause for this problem.

The best way to balance your hormones is to take the full Iodine Protocol together with niacin + B vitamins on a daily basis. Take at least 500 mgs niacin twice a day at meals. You can also take the no-flush niacin -- inositol hexanicotinate which might perhaps be easier for you. Other forms of niacin such as niacinamide do not have such beneficial effects on blood pressure. Take either B50 complex or brewers yeast once a day as well.

There is some research by Dr Flechas from the Iodine Project, who describes his treatment with LI for a 320 lb lady with both thyroid problems and diabetes. After only a short while on iodine, this lady was able to completely come off her diabetes meds. What's more, she lost 70 lbs after several months on the iodine protocol. Iodine makes all hormone gland activity more efficient and also tends to make digestion, transport, assimilation and the excretion of fats more efficient in the body. I lost a tremendous amount of weight after I started taking LI, and it has stayed off.

Other protocols, such as the alkalizing protocols and the borax water protocols shown here on EC and taken on a daily basis will also help you to further balance your hormones and lower your blood pressure.

You should also avoid the combination of fats(especially veg oils), unrefined salt(use sea salt instead) and sugar in your diet.

Hi Rj,

Yes, I definitely would not take arginine with nac without discussing it with your doctor first.

In that study, the NAC and Arginine were not used with other blood pressure lowering drugs, but rather as a stand alone treatment. What I liked about that study was the good results and especially the benefit of all of the potential "side effects". With regular blood pressure meds, the side effects are usually negative. You'd have to read the link to see what those side benefits are, but they are numerous and good in terms of long term overall health.

What is odd to me is that there were never any followup studies on that relatively small and obscure 2008 study considering how good the results were. I guess there is no money motivation in it. If a drug company came out tomorrow with a blood pressure med that could lower blood pressure and have all of those other positive health benefits, it would be a block buster for sure!

The combination of arginine/nac is what I use to control my pressure and I add in lysine every so often to keep my arginine/lysine ratio balanced.

Good luck!

You can eat kelp from the sea or iodized salt or lugol's iodine. I order it online but Iodine lowers selenium. Low selenium can cause cancer to grow. Iodine is one of many minerals we need to stay in health. Chromium and vanadium help keep blood sugars in check. Lecithin emulsifies fats out of the body. L-taurine helps MSG exit stage left so you can eat it and stay in health at the same time.

Ashwaganda is good for stress relief. Nutritional yeast for b vitamins coat nerve cells and aid digestion. Magnesium Is a heart mineral that is calming. Vitamin D with K for hormone balancing . Self Talk and media choices are very important in any crisis.

Stress appears to be an issue and I don't know your age, but I would use apple cider vinegar 1 tsp in cup of water to improve digestion and immune health. Leave the water out, no lid, for one hour and chlorine will exit before you drink it. Chlorine interferes with iodine ports in body ( like thyroid gland has one) because they are both halides .

I have said too much …..maybe. Blessing, charity

Dear Bee,

Well, here are my two cents worth of rambling...we have been blessed to have some doctors over the years who do indeed care and are not all about $. When we lived in KY there was a family doctor in town that only charged $40 for a visit and didn't even charge that if you couldn't pay. He was puzzled by the symptoms one of my children had a number of years ago (on and off fever for a long time and swollen lymph nodes.) He called me on his day off to ask if we had cats. Turns out my son had cat scratch fever. (And I thought it was just a song! ) He really cared. He didn't know anything about natural medicine, but he was helpful to us in diagnosing things at times. Sadly, we have had more dealings with doctors who really didn't care or were not open to alternative treatments. Once I saw a doctor and the first things she said was "You are not on any prescription medication! " She promptly wrote me two prescriptions for I don't recall what as I threw them away.

So, I don't know if you should go to this person. It troubles me that medical help is so expensive. I have more positive results in improving the health of my family through implementing what I have learned on Earth Clinic and herb books than through the medical field. Though, I have needed medical services at times and have been grateful for that, especially when I have had good doctors and nurses. But when medical help is so expensive, and $300 for an office visit seems absurd to me, I worry that $ is the driving force in the practice and not that of helping people feel better.

My husband was having heart palpitations years ago and went to a heart doctor who put him on beta blockers. It was a low dose and he felt terrible on that. He went off them cold turkey (he hadn't been on them long and we didn't know any better.) He figured out that caffeine was the cause of the palpitations, so he went off that, too.

One option you have is to continue to read and study and try different things for your health. You have already found that diet and exercise and stress affect you...that is great knowledge.

Please keep us posted on what you try and how you are doing. We are all learning together here. I will pray that you have wisdom in your decisions!

Dear Bee:

I have thought long about your post here on EC. There are no integrative doctors - they are allopathic doctors trained by Big Pharma to sell their wares. Some doctors hear their voice of conscience and try to help patients according to their inner promptings. However, if found out in not prescribing a max of meds, they will receive a warning. So many are working while silencing their conscience as it would mean a negation of all that had been washed into their brains, which they did not question boot.

Allopathy teaches about sickness and not WELLNESS

Allopathy treats your eye, foot, stomach; NOT THE WHOLE PERSON

Allopathy admits of a mind and seeks to alter it

Allopathy seeks to dominate a mind with chemicals but

IGNORES MAN'S SOUL

You and I as a human being have the gift of intuition. You live in this body and you alone can take responsibility for your health.

A doctor is a stranger. In a few minutes he can cause a lot of damage to your health by allowing so many minutes and then "next one please".

He has in mind how his earnings will be and many doctors vie among themselves who makes the most. They are obsessed with their salaries.

Much more could be said, but the choice is up to you. You have as a faculty discrimination and awareness which can be sharpened by practice and experimentation.

The main point is that chemicals and plant colloidal chemicals are a world apart. For one thing, they do not work well together and cause more damage creating a chaotic picture. And when money is the main object and not the well being of man, BEWARE. Love, Om

Hello Shadel,

On any HBP issue, make sure you are getting three things; magnesium, potassium and natural (NOT synthetic) Vitamin E

500 mag

200 potassium

200 natural E ... start at low doses in E and slowly increase (over two months) to 300 then 400.

The HBP can be from thick blood; or tacky veins and arteries (all from a lack of E) or from lack of proper oxygen delivery (again lack of E). Or the HBP can be from a build up in veins and arteries of plaque. Think of a hose being squeezed at some point of blockage...it builds up pressure from the source to press the liquid through...well that is HBP and there is a reason for the pressure...the hose is blocked in some fashion. The heart itself could be a problem. Lots of possible "whys" to the pressure issue.

Natural E is my BASE for cardio help. Take those three with meals.

Also you note digestive issues with taking Apple Cider Vinegar. The opposite should be happening. ACV should be helping with that...so the post by Timh is helpful.

You also note the problem is worse when you lie down at night to sleep. Well, here's one take on that; you are not working the legs as you would during the day which could help circulate the blood BACK via the veins up to the heart. In other words the veins in legs are not working too well which lends credence that this is a circulation issue...Vitamin E to the rescue.

But given the possibility (without knowing more) I'd guess ... given the worsening at night... that varicose veins might be a matter to be addressed and a great addition would be "Horse Chestnut" which is famous for helping with that particular circulation problem too.

So I'd add that too to the three I listed. I've had great success with HC.

I normally have normal to low blood pressure. But a few years ago, it started to spike higher and higher each day. I will attest to the fact that cardiovascular exercise did help temporarily for me, but not much else did. One day, I ended up in hospital due to very high blood pressure, pounding headache, pounding, racing heart etc. I asked the Dr. If it could be food allergies and he looked at me like I had two heads and said "schedule a physical. " What- and wait 6 months while I suffer ever escalating blood pressure and deadly symptoms each night?! I don't think so. I went to a naturopath who also thought "food allergies" and did some testing (blood tests). She found I was allergic to about 1/3 of food items I regularly ate. I dropped (with difficulty) those items from my diet and my blood pressure gradually came down back to low normal.

I was having uncomfortable time during past 7 days when my BP rose to 140 /90 from my 'normal' 130/80. It was quite a sudden thing and that leaves me clueless - hmm what was wrong?

So since then I tried water, garlic and ACV/BS without significant result while keep reading EC for more things to try out. I came across virgin coconut oil VCO so I did take it just 1tsp last night. 2 hrs later I was seeing the readings were on the way down. Early this morning I had another 1 tsp. Well, I did take coconut water drink too as the same time. So I'm not sure who did the work or was it both?

To my total surprise when I checked the BP this morning it was 120/80, a number I was striving to achieve for a very long time.

Let see how long it will last - I pray for the best.

Would like to try this, but how is it possible to have enough Aloe plants to use a leaf a day? I have one small plant. Would taking the aloe that is bottled be beneficial, if purchased at a health food store? I've tried the apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper and neither of these lower my blood pressure. Anyone had success with the bottled aloe vera?

First, thanks Joyce from Tenn. for your responce and information! It's great to have people out there that are willing to help and share their experiences and knowledge. I started eating 4 stalks of celery approx. 10 days ago. (I will try the B6/Magnesium combination you spoke of). The highest b/p readings were in the evening after coming home from work. I am taking Apple Cider Vinegar (2 tablespoons) mixed with (2 tablespoons) of clover honey and one tablespoon of light brown sugar stirred in approx. 6 oz. of hot water. Tastes very good! (Hope the honey and sugar do not affect the benefits of the ACV) Again Joyce, thanks for taking the time to help me out.

Hello Karen from Deland,

This is a first for me. Never in 30+ years of working in the medical field have I heard any doctor or nurse say you can totally ignore the diastolic reading.

But knowing no more than we do about this person with the hypertension/stress/anxiety problems for 20 years, my reasoning would have been that stress depletes the body of the B vitamins, and that magnesium is an essential mineral our bodies need which also has a lot to do with our nerves, thus our stress and anxiety. You aren't going to cure the family problems with the the parents or the kids overnight, if ever. But the odds are that the level of stress and anxiety are causing a lot of those problems with the marriage, parents and kids.

If I were in this person's shoes I would probably make sure I was taking a good multivitamin/mineral supplement daily (probably one morning and one evenings for a week or two), a good stress tablet mealtimes and bedtime, and magnesium supplement of 400 to 500 mgm b.i.d. Once I was feeling better and pressure let up, I would wean myself off the Valium 5 t.i.d. Another thing our bodies need that has a lot to do with blood pressure also is potassium, and our modern day fast food dietary habits are likely to cause multiple deficiencies. Low potassium also causes an increase in stress and anxiety. A good way to tell if this is part of the problem, is to drink a big glass of fresh or frozen orange juice and see if you feel better for an hour or more afterwards. If so, add a potassium supplement to increase health immediately, but in the long run, improving ones dietary habits to increase these levels is going to be the most beneficial.

If problems with family, marriage, kids and parents continue, then the whole bunch of them need to learn to talk to each other, without accusations and anger, and if they can't do that without counseling, lets hope they find a good one.

Hot Cocoa

Samlaunch has stated:

"Hot Cocoa...will fix high blood pressure. I checked my resting pulse rate at 82-beats per minute resting last night. After drinking the hot chocolate, my pulse dropped to 62-beats per minute resting heart rate."

Since heart beats are *NOT* equivalent to blood pressure ... the number of heart beats does *NOT* indicate one's blood pressure.

In fact, Caffeine is actually known to *restrict* blood vessels (& thus the blood flow through blood vessels) & thus to *raise* blood pressure....

"Caffeine may cause a short...dramatic *increase* in...[BP], even if you don't have [HBP]. It's unclear what causes this spike.... The [BP] response to caffeine differs from person to person....

"Some...who regularly drink caffeinated beverages have a higher average [BP] than...those who drink none. Others who regularly drink caffeinated beverages develop a tolerance.... As a result, caffeine doesn't have a long-term effect on their [BP]...."

Apple and Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 05/16/2010

Hi Mary...Many thanks for your questions. I'll try and answer them as best I can:

Firstly, when you were treating your systemic yeast infection you used molasses. How could that have worked considering you would be feeding them? Did it not make you retain water and gain weight?

This is a good question. Oddly enough, when I cured myself of candida and everything else, I lost alot of weight(over 25 lbs). When you alkalize, you effectively put your body into high working efficiency. Your immune system improves and your energy also improves because alkalizing and bicarbonates are specifically used in human respiration and in digestion, making these body processes much more efficient.

I also used VCO in my candida remedy on a daily basis because the saturated fats in VCO(as medium chain triglycerides) are not stored as fat in the body, but instead the unneeded saturated fat is simply excreted directly from the liver into the intestines. Normal vegetable oils or polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats(long chain triglycerides) are always stored in the body as fats. This is why I have a high regard for VCO, for me it is the safest and best edible oil in the world.

I used molasses in order to supply my body with more minerals -- specifically magnesium and potassium during my remedy. In those early days, I was an EC newbie and didn't understand that much. If I had candida now, I probably wouldn't use molasses, but would use sea salt and fulvic acid for minerals instead and would also use borax to help kill off the candida as well. I would also use hydrogen peroxide and magnesium chloride or citrate as well which I never used before(I use them now).

Secondly, you used an alkalizing formula 3X per day did you not retain water from all the sodium in the baking soda? Also would you not experience some sort of electrolyte imbalance with all that (non sea salt) type of sodium?

When most people think sodium, they think it is the big, bad enemy -- salt. But sodium is not salt. I also agree with Ted, our bodies need sodium, over 80% of our body electrolytes consist of sodium. Therefore we need sodium everyday. The scare over salt is, in my own opinion, well overplayed. As long as you use natural sea salt, you should have few sodium or salt issues.

You wont retain water using sodium bicarbonate as you would with table salt because they are completely different substances with different effects on the body. Sodium bicarbonate is NaHCO3 whereas salt is NaCl. Both have completely different behaviours in the body. Ordinary table salt has a pH = 5 whereas sea salt has a pH = 7.5 - 8.5 and is more alkaline which is why natural sea salt is so much better for you. Table salt is refined and so only contains NaCl, whereas a good natural sea salt will contain many minerals as well and has many more useful body electrolytes that are both necessary for the body as well as being alkaline and more balancing.

Why do you think so many jpoeple report weight loss here on earth clinic, with the use of ACV and water? they do not include baking soda? And one post said it (ACV and BS) made her retain water?
what are your thoughts?

Acid body conditions can lead to accumulation of fats. So can pollution of the body from heavy metals. In fact, I have read that the production and storage of fats in the body is a kind of body defence against the accumulation of heavy metals, a way for the body to hide the heavy metals safely in order to protect against their bad effects on the organs and blood.

I would also rarely use ACV without using baking soda with it. If you take ACV on its own, the acetic and malic acids in the ACV will be converted to acetate and malate salts by your digestion and then will be absorbed. So this actually depletes your body stores of sodium bicarbonates. By adding sodium bicarbonate to the ACV plus water you convert the acids to their salts BEFORE you ingest them so you save your body bicarbonates, by not having to digest and convert these acids to their salts. So you alkalize you body even more this way by saving your own bicarbonates.

The lady who gained weight using ACV might have had a problem with her kidneys or liver, we just don't know. Kidneys regulate minerals and water in the blood, she might have had a water retention problem. Fat and glucose metabolism is mainly handled by the liver, so there might have been a problem there too. Also we have no idea what her diet was and she was really one of the few cases on EC where ACV didn't help her condition.

Manuka honey is an amazing remedy for M.R.S.A. wounds, as well as for diabetic skin ulcerations. It comes in several strengths, so contact customer service on websites to see which is best for you. It is a little pricey, but I think it is worth it. It's delicious and healthful when taken internally and is wonderful when applied externally to the face. I am taking one teaspoon of Manuka honey and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon each morning and evening. It has lowered my blood pressure from 156 to 125 in a very short period of time. It also improves my sleep! I love this website and it makes me happy to give back for all the help I've received. Good luck to all.

Breath in, (through nose) half way..12345, hold...12345, breath in rest of way...12345, hold..1-5, Breath out half way through lips, 1-5, hold...1-5, finish emptying lungs as slowly as possible through pursed lips. Do 8 rounds of this. 8 is the Chinese lucky number. It is also the symbol for infinity when turned sideways. The object is to take longer on the exhale than on the inhale. I find that I can lower my BP quite a bit with this method. ...Bill

Blood sugar and cholesterol were markedly lower than the tests showed just prior to starting the cold shower regimen, with no appreciable changes in diet or physical excercise. My blood pressure was lower, and my pulse rate at rest has decreased from 72 to 54, which I find amazing. I am not in "great" shape physically, and I can only attribute these changes to the cold showers. This might actually be the fountain of youth.

Breathing to Quickly Drop Blood Pressure

While I don't know if this is capable of causing a lasting effect or long-term cure, I know it works for me to drop my BP, at least for a little while. Its something that I do, when I see my BP is a little too high for comfort. I, of course, closely monitor my BP to make sure it's staying in check and don't blindly trust anything.

Deep heavy breathing. Exhale everything from the lungs, then sharply/quickly inhale til lungs are full, quickly exhale til the lungs are empty, Do this a few more times, then on an inhale, hold it. It usually causes me to get lightheaded when I hold it, this is the feeling I'm aiming for. I Hold it for a good little bit. Then do it again. When I do this, I'm trying to completely saturate my blood with oxygen as much as I possibly can. I usually quickly feel very relaxed.

In my experience this is a good quick way to drop my BP a good 15-20 points off the top and at least 5 off the bottom and usually more than enough to get my BP in a safe range. Last time I did it, I was around 155/91 and dropped it to 131/84 before I stopped monitoring it, took me about 10 minutes to get there from the 155/91. May have went lower, I'm not sure.

BP Readings Over the Decades
Posted by Cindy (Illinois, USA) on 06/19/2024 563 posts

I don't think HBP in a teen, with regard to sports activities, is a health issue. That would be a liability issue and if his BP is high, that should be fixed. And I don't mean with surgery. Personally, I suspect HBP is a matter of chronic dehydration. Easily remedied. If repair needs to happen, 1/2 tsp of cayenne every morning would probably easily take care of that. But, of course, if you're not concerned - as a parent - you probably don't want to hear it so...ya know.

People often do ridiculous things for the petty purpose of pride maintenance. Self-righteously throwing their own children under a bus is just one of many of those things.

I was Dx with heart failure and had poorly controlled blood pressure. It ran 210/100 many days. Nothing helped.

Then I turned to low carb, high fat diet to lose some weight. My bp is now in the high normal range with no meds. Slowly I lost weight and at last Dr. visit was down 22 lbs which amazed me. I believe from my experience and that of my friends that carbs somehow effect BP in ways not yet appreciated.

Wanted to pass this along for others to consider.

I totally agree that low carb and high fat (Atkins diet) is the way to go! I have lost 37lbs in 2 months, lowered my blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and I feel 100% better! 59 years old and ZERO medications! Not even a tylenol! Sometimes... no meds are the best meds! The old saying that "you are what you eat" is so true. Not just what you eat, but what you put in your mouth. Whether that be what you eat, what you drink, or the meds you take!

Exercise
Posted by Marie (Batavia, Ny) on 04/02/2016

Yeah I read that lots of water helps. I hate water and I drink like a half qt a day, but am pushing myself more lately trying to drink hibiscus tea 3x a day supposed to help lower it. Seems that most stuff does not work on me. I have tried every natural thing in the bk. I am now taking a half tab lisinopril once or twice a day. I keep checking the bl pr. If it's under 135/85 I don't take another half pill. I am recently drinking the acv. I am ok this wk now, but last wk I had to go to ER because at nite I was 195/116. I was freaking out. At hosp the highest was 170/100 and the lowest was 155/88. Since then taking half pill and acv.

Oh, and then while I was laying still on the table (they called it a "stretcher" which freaked me out more) I had a full blown panic attack. I started trembling all over real bad. I counted the minutes and it lasted 20 min which is what they typically do. Have not had a panic attack in a yr, but I was freaking out.

On the blood pressure paper for the machine it says to wait 4-5 min before taking blood pressure again because the veins need to get back to normal or the low reading will not be accurate. I wait 5-7 min but usually take bl pr 7-10 x a day to see if pill and/or Apple Cider Vinegar is working. Not sure yet, but at least am out of the woods. I am older like 65, only ten lbs over weight, but lost 4. Go get a mini trampoline and bounce gently for 20 min a day. Helps blood pressure. Even doc at hosp said to exercise and it would help lower bl pr. Cheap ones are available, but I have a good one cost $200. Do it 20-30 min 4 days a wk. Back hurts so can't do longer. At 20 min the lymph nodes clear out so it helps the immunity.

Deep Breathing
Posted by Robert Henry (Ten Mile, Tn.) on 08/28/2015

HI U OLE PATOOTS DOIN, , , , , , , , , , , , a while back I watched one of Dr. Shallenbergers videos on breathing. Learned from him that you should breath less and deeper using your diaphragm. I have always had a high pulse rate in the 80's and years ago had blackouts, which doctors said I was hyperventilating. I thought that was just bull but took their drugs to prevent and is the reason I now have osteoporosis and the reason a simple fall in '14 crushed my T 12 vertebrae.

Yesterday while waiting for the doctor to show up, because hospitals will not do a stress test unless a doctor is available. There I was, all hooked up, bored, and just watching the monitor. I decided to play a game. I began to change my breathing to see how that affected my pulse rate. Amazing, as Dr Shallenberger was right on point. I spent about 45 minutes raising and lowering my pulse rate just by the way I was breathing. I was able to take it down to the 60's or up to the 80's.

I guess this is what is known as bio-feed back.

I now think that the way we breathe is important to our overall health. Yep, you have to get oxygen, but you also have to maintain a certain amount of CO2 and you do that by breathing slower. I am just smart enough on this subject to be dangerous.

What is my point? The way you breath affects your overall health and I can't help you........... so READ.

Olive Leaf

To reduce blood pressure, take Olive Leaf Extract in liquid form and after about 3 weeks you will see a major drop. It will cure the high blood pressure, unless its another ailment causing the high blood pressure such as something stressful your body is fighting off. But google olive leaf extract. It works. I PROMISE. Also, hawthorn extract stabilizes the blood pressure once its down. Garlic is also great for blood pressure and reducing cholesterol buildup. Raw garlic is the best. I chop up a clove each day and drink it with milk (I swallow the chopped up pieces like pills). Then I take liquid chlorophyll, which acts as an internal deodorizer. I hope this helps.

P.S. My friend had been on medication for 30 years for high blood pressure. After taking the liquid olive leaf extract every day as directed, he was off the medication after 3 weeks and has been off of it ever since. He continues to take it. That is only one person I saw cured.

Arginine, NAC

Hi Michael,

The best supplement I have found for hypertension is Carditone which is working very well for myself and some friends. Like everything, it probably won't work for everyone, but I found, for my friends and myself, that it did better than NAC/Arginine/Lysine, prescription medication, beet root powder, magnesium/potassium and others. I wrote about it here :

Lemongrass Essential Oil

Hi, I started using lemongrass essential oil for my high blood pressure. I put a drop on my wrist and rub it on the other wrist and then I put a small bit of coconut oil on my heart area and one drop on lemongrass oil. The lemongrass oil may burn sensitive skin, but the coconut oil stops the burn. I have high blood pressure and I did this 1 hour before my Dr appt, my BP was 118/80. I am convinced that this is the reason my pressure was normal.

Hello Buffy,

Re the high blood pressure issue...

Even though you two are eating good food sources and largely vegetarian, even a vegetarian diet might not be getting enough natural (not synthetic) vitamin E.

So if me, to unclog marginal blockage I'd get on Natural E (d alpha tocopherol) for two months. Also I'd add on Magnesium and Potassium.

I'd start at 200 IUs per day for two weeks and increase to 400 and then in two more weeks increase to 600. Vitamin E will slick down blood platelets and veins and arteries so plaque will not build so readily and E is an oxygenator and natural blood thinner. So if on aspirin, I'd get off the aspirin after a few weeks on E.

If my blood pressure did not start coming down with those three then I'd start up on Arginine.

In none of these work I'd think that perhaps a fungal infection was at work. A Live Cell Microscopy would tell if fungus was in the blood stream beyond the norm...Fungus can give off a by product that forms a plaque and that plaque might be overcoming the Vitamin E and all the good vegetable consumption you are doing.

sigistardust, google DR.HANS A NIEPER the curious man, you can buy an online book for $3.03 that explains everything, and tells you exactly what to get to rectify most heart and blood pressure problems, you're right to not take their poison drugs, also try himalayan pink salt (www.saltworks.us) this salt will only raise B P 2 to 3 points. Luckyvitamines.com has the products from dr nieper, they are reasonably priced

Old post but my ankles got swollen when I was living on aspirin, antacids, and coffee. Quit that and they are no longe swollen. But a bit stiff and numb. Garlic and onion powder both do wonders for that. Peanuts and niacinamide (the flushing kind), too. Possibly too much aluminum or kidney damage from the aspirin? Dunno.

Bee, you're doing well. Doctors are not especially compassionate these days and haven't been for many years... It was different in the 50's and 60's...You know how you feel. If he or she doesn't believe it, get another doctor or stay tuned to Earth Clinic which is an HMO for a lot of people...Good luck and btw Atenolol IS a beta blocker...

I have never heard of white coat hypertension in a Doctors Office being called a disease. I believe Doctors call it "White Coat Syndrome".

Eggplant Water
Posted by Inannalives (Middletown De) on 02/13/2014

My son-in-laws blood pressure was never any lower than 190 over 110. After drinking one glass of eggplant water for about a week it went to 135 over 90. He has been drinking the water and sometimes taking the eggplant capsules. He learned of this remedy from a man while waiting in the doctor's office. After struggling with taking two bp meds he is totally blown away with this simple remedy.

Medication Weaning

Hello Kelly from Ma:

I too suffer from hypertension. Have been for over 2 years now. Been on prescription BP medicine for about 5 months now. I put it off for over 1 1/2 year. I was taking two 10 mg propanalol tabs per day to start. I have been able to cut that back to one 10 mg pill per day.

Let me tell you how I've been able to do that. The recommended supplements I would suggest are both niacin & magnesium. Also, possibly taking medicinal mushrooms. I take all 3 of these now. My BP is doing fine now & soon I should be able to completely go off the propanalol.

Let me say this isn't a quick fix by no means. That's the way natural supplementation works though. Your BP medicine is only covering up what's really wrong. I had renal failure myself back in April of 2012. I was put on BP back then but didn't want to take it so I put it off. We have to get our BP under control no matter what. It's dangerous to not get it under control. However, BP meds like all meds just cover up/delay the inevitable. They also have side effects like most meds.

One other thing you could try is Olive Leaf Extract. I take it on a rotation schedule of herbs for my candida condition. It also helps to lower BP. Don't take them all 4 at the same though. Try the niacin and magnesium first. I would suggest a dose of 1, 000 mg niacin daily in split doses & 250-500 mg magnesium. Take these for at least a month or 2. Check your BP every other day or so to keep an eye on it.

You will see a reduction in BP but not a fast fix. If the niacin and magnesium doesn't work try the Olive Leaf Extract and medicinal mushrooms combo. The medicinal mushrooms are strong immune boosters as well. Only look for buying medicinal mushrooms that are hot water extracted though. Don't buy any other type! A couple of brands are Paradise Herbs & Mushroom Science. These are really the only 2 companies that produced true hot water extracted mushrooms.

The Olive Leaf dose is different for each person. If the olive leaf dose contains 30 mg Oleuropein(check back label) take 4-6 capsules daily with food in split doses.

Keep us posted on your status. Also, feel free to ask more questions if needed. God Bless & hope your BP gets under control with one of these methods!

I think arginine has been reported to reduce the thickness of arteries but I don't know what that means. K2 has the strong evidence behind it.

A big myth is that salt causes heart disease. Like cholesterol, it was another lie. The scientific studies have shown that the amount of salt consumption has no bearing on whether people get heart disease.

Salt is healthy. I use Kosher Salt because it blends in with food better. Sea Salt is suppose to be one of the healthy salts. I hear a lot of good things about Himalayan salt and it may be better. So don't deny yourself salt. It actually helps you stay healthy.

The reason why your blood pressure goes up with more salt is because it expands the water in your blood. This is not a good reason to give up your salt. Salt is healthy for you. Many health conditions improve with salt especially the sea salt.

Vitamin K2 is proven to reverse calcified artery damage. It also helps take the calcium that would end up in your arteries and put it into your bones hence increases bone density. some anecdotal posts I have read report drastic reduction in people's artery calcium in only a couple months. Nice thing about this is that it says that once you give the arteries a good cleaning then you probably don't have to take it every day so can find a maintenance dose.

So vitamin K2 essentially keeps calcium out of your arteries and into you bones. Vitamin D (i use D3 kind) works in tandem with K2. Don't deny yourself salt.

It's a nobrainer about what you need to do. You can continue to take it and increase your chances of dying by 25% or you can gradually stop over a couple weeks and decrease your chances of dying by over 25%.

it's clear how you get off beta blockers. you can save $300 and do it yourself or pay $300 and have someone tell you the same thing.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

I tried the ACV for high blood pressure, 2 tblspns, with 1/4 tsp. baking soda in 1/2 glass of water 3 times a day, before meals. It gave me diarrhea. I quit doing this today and I have no diarrhea. I don't like the side effects from my blood pressure medications. Does anyone know if the Apple Cider Vinegar capsules would give me the same problems? (diarrhea) Thanks for the help.

This is the 3rd time that I started High Blood Pressure (HBP) remedy (whilst also alkalising) with 2tbsp Organic ACV+mother with 1/4 tsp of bicarb of soda first thing in the morning and again late at night and need to stop again because of sudden onset of constipation that develops within the first 3 days of taking above remedy. I am normally not suffering from constipation, have always been very regular. Was prepared this time and had Aloevera juice at hand, just in case. Started with aloe on 2nd day in afternoon 2tbsp 3x daily in organic apple juice. Now at end of day 3 still no bowel movement and I have discontinued taking ACV+bicarb of soda. I am relatively healthy and dont take any medication. Only suffer with HBP, Fibromyalgia, candida, digestive malabsorbtion and use Oil of Magnesium daily, also B50 and natural vitE. My age is 68. Can someone help me understand why I develop constipation and how to remedy this outcome. Thanks for feedback and blessings to all involved with keeping this website going.

Jolole: It seems you may also be suffering Cholestasis or gallstones. This condition can cause acidosis, constipation, and hypertension. A gallbladder cleanse would be helpful. Natural remedies to increase bile flow like Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, and Yellowdock Root will help. Also drink lemon water daily (this almost always works for me; I use lemon juice concentrate and filtered water).

Hope this helps.
