I have had gout for years. What worked for me is strawberries, and blueberries. Fresh or frozen don't matter. Eat about a cup should feel results in 2hrs.
My husband Geoff had his first surprise attack of gout. We went on the net and read any books we could find on the subject. As we both knew Geoff's father had serious side-effects from the nsaid Indicide that the doctor gave him. We decided to eat lots of cherries and strawberries and eat a diet high in rice and vegetables with very little meat. Within a few days the gout symptoms were gone. We are both drinking lots of water.
Fresh strawberries and Cherries* both reduce the symptoms of Gout (be careful the canned ones w/-syrup have a lot of sugar which could neutralize any benefit) best eat bottled sour cherries or the drink made from bottled black cherry concentrate (Health Shops have this). Soda water also helps. Watermelon and fresh vegetables also help. Beer is the worst thing to take. I have been 10years fighting Gout.
I wanted to thank Don for posting to message about Strawberries and Gout. I tried Cherries and other remedies like Cider Vinegar but once I started eating strawberries the Gout has gone away, hopefully for good. Since my gout started in March, it was just in time for the new crop of Strawberries. I try to eat a cup every day!
