Cayenne Pepper Infused Oil (Rob's Formula)

Cayenne oil is not nearly as irritating to the skin as capsaicin creams, and I use it topically for chest congestion, lower back pain, neuralgia, sciatica, muscle aches, fibromyalgia and arthritis pain. For quick headache relief, massage the oil, or a cayenne balm across the temples. Cayenne oil can also help to clear psoriasis and deter itching.

Cautions: Cayenne oil contains capsaicin, which causes a burning/heat sensation. This is normal and should decrease with repeated use capsaicin only causes the sensation of heat, not real damage to tissues. Test your oil on a small patch of skin to gauge its effects before applying to wide areas.

Ingredients: Cayenne Pepper, Ginger, Peanut Oil as Carrier oil * Additions: wintergreen, eucalyptus, peppermint or rosemary essential oils.

Recipe Instructions:

This formula is a cold infusion method. Capsaicin is destroyed by heating so I prefer this method. There are ways the speed up the process but to complex for this tutorial.

1. The ratio of oil to pepper will depend on the hotness of the peppers, and your own preferences, a good ratio is 1 part powder to 4 parts oil. I use a one pint mason jar. I put 3 TBSP Cayenne powder and 2 TBSP Ginger powder into the mason jar. Top off jar with peanut oil to within 1 inch from top. Place lid on mason jar.

2. Shake jar every day for 2 weeks.

3. After the 2 weeks, allow jar to set for 3 days undisturbed so the pulp settles to the bottom. Decant the clear oil off the top.

Rub this oil into painful areas 3x/daily.

Borax

Ken,

The Borax being referred to is the Borax found in the laundry aisle in most markets across the US and it is called 20 Mule Team Borax. Here is a link to what the box looks like :

https://www.walmart.com/ip/20-Mule-Team-All-Natural-Borax-Laundry-Detergent-Booster-Multi-Purpose-Household-Cleaner-65-Ounce/20850525?

If it is just one shoulder that is causing pain, Deirdre's new topical formula will likely be the quickest way compared to the oral route. Here is a link to her method :

Keep in mind that this is for arthritis and if your pain is caused by something else it may not help.

Boron and DMSO

I have arthritis in the back & neck real bad along with herniated discs, but what I found is that capsules of boron a supplement, taking a loading dose at first 4-5 time usual dose for 4-7 days, combined with DMSO applied topically, takes away the pain far more than the pain killer and muscle relaxant I was prescribed. I also had an epidermal to try to calm the pain, and it worked OK, but the pain just keeps coming back, normal with an epidermal, it is not permanent.

It also took away the severe headaches I started to get after the epidermal, another common side effect.

Again the DMSO and boron work better than the scripts. You can add anything else you like, including turmeric, which also helps quite a bit but don`t count on the recommended dose. You might have to up the amount according to your own needs, but all I can say is it works for me and better than any script I have been given.

Dietary Changes

I have age-related osteoarthritis (I'm almost 64). What's worked for me is completely cutting out refined sugar in any form, including the "bad" carbs (pastas, breads, white rice, etc.), and definitely using turmeric whenever I can. I've regularly made the "golden milk" (recipe here in EC), and have added the turmeric, organic UNrefined virgin coconut oil and black pepper to my homemade soups and teas. I had a right hip replacement February 2018, and the only time I feel any pain in my knees or even that right hip area it's because I've "cheated" with the junk food. So, basically, at least for me, cleaning up the diet and lots of turmeric really keeps the aches and pains away.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda, Magnesium

I found Bill's' post in the fibro section, but it has helped my arthritis a GREAT deal. I hurt less, I am more flexible, and my complexion has improved:

https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/treatment-for-fibromyalgia-pain-symptoms.html#acvmagnesium

Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 12/21/2010

"Here is some research which confirms the positive effects of using malate (ACV) and magnesium to help cure Fibromyalgia (FM) and is yet more confirmation as to how alkalizing with ACV and baking soda (forming malates) plus taking Magnesium (as Mag Chloride or Mag Citrate or Mag Gluconate) can help FM.

Here are the summary and abstract conclusions from the research:

"Primary fibromyalgia (FM) is a common clinical condition affecting mainly middle-aged women. Of the etiologies previously proposed, chronic hypoxia seems the one best supported by recent biochemical and histological findings. We postulate that FM symptoms are predominantly caused by enhanced gluconeogenesis with breakdown of muscle proteins, resulting from a deficiency of oxygen and other substances needed for ATP synthesis. We present data supporting a critical role for magnesium and malate in ATP production under aerobic and hypoxic conditions; and indirect evidence for magnesium and malate deficiency in FM. After treating 15 FM patients for an average of 8 weeks with an oral dosage form with dosages of 1200-2400 mg of malate and 300-600 mg of magnesium, the tender point index (TPI) scores (x±) were 19-6±2-1 prior to treatment and 8±1.1 and 6-5±074. Respectively, after an average of 4 and 8 weeks on the magnesium malate combination (p < 0.001). Subjective improvement of myalgia occurred within 48 h of supplementation. In six FM patients, following 8 weeks of treatment, the mean TPI was 6.8 ±0.75. After 2 weeks on placebo tablets, the TPI values increased to a mean ± SE of 21.5 ±1-4(p < 0.001). Again, subjective worsening of muscle pain occurs within 48 h of placebo administration. A double-blind placebo control trial is currently underway."

So, just taking two tablespoons of ACV with 1/2 tsp sodium bicarbonate in half a glass of water three times a day with split doses of between 300-600 mg magnesium per day is actually very beneficial against Fibromyalgia."

---------

This took about a week for it to really help me. The addition of BS to the ACV greatly improved the taste/flavor of ACV (for me) and now I enjoy drinking ACV. I take whatever magnesium I have in the house. My bowels are a bit loose, but I often to not 'clear' out and this negative is a positive for me. I AM SO HAPPY.

Borax

For arthritis, I would add some 'borax' to the mix. Borax is touted as the single miracle cure for arthritis in some circles. It is said to balance all the hormones, too. Some call it the natural viagra. There are dozens and dozens of links with all sorts of testimony's to peruse. I use the "Mule Team, " brand you find in the supermarket near the laundry soap section. Good Luck!

Eliminating Tea

Tea can cause arthritis!

Why are the government of India and the state governments doing nothing to ruthlessly curb the rampant adulteration and massive contamination of common items of food like tea, milk, cooking oils, spices, etc? Adulteration and contamination of such common foods can cause coughs, colds, asthma, arthritis, cancer and many other diseases in millions of people.

How many persons will believe that I suffered from arthritis, which often caused pain in my knees, over a period of about 3 years, mainly because I was drinking tea? The tea must be containing harmful chemicals, which are used for giving flavor and color to the damned tea leaves during the time they are processed!

I was able to cure myself of arthritis only after I completely stopped drinking tea. I had tried many types of dietary treatments to control the symptoms of arthritis, but I was unable to cure myself of arthritis, as long as I did not completely stop drinking the darn tea!!

Even though I am 73 years old, I have again started riding my bicycle for about 40 minutes almost every day. People who know me are surprised to see me cycling again after a long time. They had often seen me walking slowly and uncomfortably on the streets of pune in the last 3 years. The discomfort due to the arthritis in my knees was obvious to those who had seen me walking awkwardly during that period.

Turmeric
Posted by Mama To Many (Tennessee) on 03/31/2017

Dear Robert Henry,

Well, your story about how a family doctor got your father out of a fib is fascinating! My great-grandfather was a doctor in rural NC around 1900 or so. He did house calls. He charged $5 to deliver a baby. Or sometimes he would be paid for his services with a bushel of apples or wheat. Times have surely changed. I never knew him but have seen his accounting books. Amazing.

Regarding cayenne...I love it myself. It has helped my family with strep throat, hemorrhage, poor circulation....among other things....I know it is used as a catalyst and maybe it would do that for turmeric for someone who cannot take black pepper. Apparently, black pepper is used to potentate turmeric because of the piperine in it, which cayenne does not have.

I would love to come up with an experiment to see the difference in how turmeric versus tumeric/black pepper versus turmeric/cayenne affect healing. Maybe some day!

Turmeric

I heard a story over the weekend about turmeric and black pepper so I thought I would update this thread.

My friend said that she took turmeric with noticeable results. But when she took turmeric and black pepper it made her feel inflamed.

Obviously turmeric does not need black pepper to work and black pepper isn't for everyone.

A fascinating thing to me about natural treatment is how individual it can be. It is as much an art as a science.

Clove Oil, Peppermint Oil

One study found that Clove oil eased arthritis in mice. But it didn't just provide relief by lowering the amount of inflammatory cytokines. This compound actually prevented inflammatory substances from entering joints. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23037170

So not only does it reduce the inflammation you already have… It keeps new inflammatory cytokines from popping up in your joints.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda, Chicken Cartilage
Posted by Jennywren (Perth, Western Australia, Australia) on 02/12/2012

Hi there, I'm sitting here reading your post with my feet soaking in hot water and Epsom Salts! I do this for 30 mins every morning and it helps loosen up my arthritis feet (I have rheumatoid arthritis). I have been trying ACV and honey twice a day now for a couple of weeks and no relief. I did try large doses of fish oil and glucosamine last year and the pain disappeared for nearly 2 months - heaven! Alas it came back and has never worked since.

I am now experimenting with Borax.. I'm in my 2nd week of 5 days on, 3 days off. I wet my fingertip and dip it into the Borax then swirl it around in my hot toddy of ACV and honey every evening. No luck yet.. Hence the Epsom Salts! Good luck.. and keep going! The answer's out there somewhere, I'm sure.

Multiple Remedies

First I'd like to thank everyone for their input. This site is a life saver.

So, I came down with terrible pain in my wrist, fingers, right hip, knee, foot and lower back. It became so unbearable at times that I could not walk or get out of the chair, and I thought that this is no life. If I had to live like this forever I'd rather be dead. However, I prayed and found the answers. Since I don't have insurance anymore - which is a blessing not a curse - I had to self diagnose and realized that I have Osteo Arthritis.

I spent many hours in researching on the internet and found that there are several things I could do to not only stop the pain but also to reverse bone cartilage decay. And this is for all forms of Arthritis. To stop the pain: 3, 4, or 5 thin slices of Organic Ginger, 8-10 oz. of hot good water, 2 teaspoons of each Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey. Place the Ginger in a cup and pour the boiling water over it. Put a lid (Not plastic) or a small plate over it to cover. Let it soak for 10-15 minutes. Then add the ACV and Honey and drink this 3 times a day. It controls the pain to the point where I forget it is there. But for the long run do also exercise and eat undenatured Type II chicken cartilage and Gelatine. (I'll get to this later). Another important thing is to get all your trace minerals back into your body.

Exercise as often as you can. Every 2 minutes count. It does not have to be exhausting and you don't have to buy anything. Get something that has weight (a can of vetable, a plastic bag with sugar, or buy exercise weights). Start low, and do about 20 gentle reps. The pull on the bones strengthens them and you can feel a difference in a short period of time. Start with maybe 3-5 minutes several times a day, and build up. My favorte exercise is this: stand on your toes for a few seconds (maybe 5-10) and go back down. Do 20 repetitions, many times a day, and/or walk on your tippy toes for several steps keeping your neck up like a giraffe. There is no wrong way of doing it. Do this is as often as you can. I even do the toe up and down when standing in line for the cashier. These exercises are very powerful - don't under estimate them. Another good one is to stand with your feet a little bit apart, then bend your knees and go down a little bit but keep your back straight, like you have a broomstick along your spine. Never force anything that does not feel good to you.

Type II Undenatured Chicken Cartilage. This is so powerful that the Harvard University patented it. Undenatured means raw and it is the cartilage from the chicken's sternum. I personally would not eat that from a non-organic chicken because of the risk of contamination. There are many supplements on the market but many of them have been heat and/or chemically treated which destroys the effect. You need to do your own research on that. Tip: Dr. Joel D. Wallach is a Vet who has treated Arthiritis successfully in animals and people. I have red only an exerpt that was published online but I will get one of his books. He has used Chicken Cartilage and Gelatine, but I recommend to get only Organic Gelatine since the regular one is treated with heat and chemicals.

And last but not least: Minerals. If you have been eating non organic (conventionell) fruits and vegetables, or even worse - packeged stuff, you are definitely deficient in essential trace minerals. Your body cannot do without them or you get all kinds of diseases. The cheapest and quickest way to remedy this is to get Organic Blackstrap Molasses. Take about 1-2 teaspoons a day. Indefinitely if you want. In addition to this I have also taken Boron supplement. I take 2-3 capsules a day, each capsule containing 3mg. The late Dr. Rex E. Newnham has cured his own arthiritis with it.

So this is my contribution to this website. Everything I have stated here has helped me to control my arthritis to the point where I sometimes forget it is there. I have just started this regimen about a week ago and it has helped very quickly, almost instantly, especially the ACV/Honey/Ginger Tea. However, I am not a doctor or healthcare professional. Do your own research and before starting anything new consult your doctor first.

Good luck and all the best to all of you.

Turmeric for Crohn's disease & Arthritis

I started taking turmeric for arthritis and got my mother who is 69 taking turmeric pills as well, 600 mg per day in one pill. If I run out of pills for longer than 4-5 days my knuckles start hurting and it's hard to bend my index finger. I make sure I don't run out any longer.

My mom has been faithful about taking the turmeric pills and just recently mentioned how she thinks it is helping with her Crohn's disease. She had emergency surgery in 1992 for an obstruction and they removed a large portion of small intestines and colon. It was due to Crohn's disease but they didn't diagnose it until after the surgery.

Since the surgery in 1992, my mom has narrowed down what foods bother her to eat. She cannot digest any kind of fat. Red meats, fried foods, nothing with fat digests and if she eats anything with fat she gets bad diarrhea sometimes all night long.

Since she has been taking the turmeric she has noticed that when she cheats and eats pizza or french fries (knowing full well what she will endure later after eating those fatty foods) she has found that she isn't bothered by the fat now and doesn't get the bad diarrhea.

She does take 2 different over the counter digestive enzyme pills with fattening meals to help digest the fat but she has always taken those pills. But now with taking the turmeric pills she can eat more of what she wants to eat without any of the consequences which is a blessing since she is so thin.

Hope this helps someone else. Reading this site has helped me and my family out tremendously. I encourage everyone to give feedback. You never know when it might help someone.

Hydrogen Peroxide
Posted by Lee773 (Chicago, Illinois, United States) on 09/24/2009
★★★★☆

I have been reading and researching for the last few weeks about the many cures of Hydrogen Peroxide 35% Food Grade. I purchased a bottle from ____, and had my mother start with the treatment 1 drop in an 8 ounce glass of water 3 times a day, increasing the drops by one drop each day. She is now up to 5 drops as of today, and will be on her 6th drop tomorrow morning. My mother has been suffering from severe artritis for many years, but over the last year it has gotten to the point where she could barely walk. So let me tell you that as of today 9-24-2009, since starting this therapy of oral ingestion 5 days ago, she is not complaining at all of the pain in her lower back, left shoulder, wrist or leg areas. My mother said the only thing she feels now is stiffness in the back of her leg (knee area), but its starting to loosen up. I can tell by looking at how she walks now compared to last week, that it is working for real, It is still early, but I have to say that I am shocked!

Today as I was talking to her, she told me that the feeling in her toes have returned, she didn't bother to mention this to any of my siblings or myself until I was asking her how she has been feeling, since I got her started on the Hydrogen Peroxide 35% diluted with the dropper in 8 ounces of water. By the way my mother is 85 years old. I don't know what to expect as we continue with this therapy, but I have to say I'm thankful for a site like this, and all the information that I have read online here, and all the readily available information on the internet. I will update as I continue to watch my mother's progress. Thank you again!

Recently I had a severe case of Arthritis that affected my left thumb. The thumb would lock down and I had to unlock it by force. The pain was also quite severe. I began using Spirits of Turpentine to relieve some of the soreness and used it for a month. The arthritis and the pain gradually went away and has not returned. At all. Anyone Else ever Tried Turpentine for this disease?
