Recently I had a severe case of Arthritis that affected my left thumb. The thumb would lock down and I had to unlock it by force. The pain was also quite severe. I began using Spirits of Turpentine to relieve some of the soreness and used it for a month. The arthritis and the pain gradually went away and has not returned. At all. Anyone Else ever Tried Turpentine for this disease?

I have tried many remedies. MSM is great for joint pain. CGF a concentrated form of chlorella will cure almost anything from a lowered immune system including cancer. fish oil has helped with depression. Fiber, ACV, probiotics they are all wonderful. I had AS a rare form of arthritis and experimenting with supplements has sent it into remission for years.

I have bone spurs and arthritis. A friend learned of my condition and advised these supplements: 250mg. Magnesium Oxide, (promotes bone and muscle health) and Super B complex, 250 mg. (promotes energy and metabolism). USE AS DIRECTED ON BOTTLE. Along with these supplements, I mix 1-64oz. bottle of pure 100% apple juice, and 1-64 oz. bottle of 100% grape juice, and 1-cup apple cider vinegar. Mix all liquids together and store in refrigerator. Drink 1/3 cup of mixture 3x a day. It has worked for me! Thanks and may you all be blessed with wonderful health! And remember, WE ARE WHAT WE EAT!

Tincture of teasel for any kind of arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis.

I cannot take credit but want to spread the cure. I read an article of a Norwegian lady who did her homework of people in the states that cured themselves of Lymes disease, herpes and tons of other diseases that are caused by some bug(s) biting you as a child or adult and per medical medium as the decades go by, you get more and more health problems due to the viruses (www.flaatthjelp.net. Go to the box to the left in English and hit the Lymes story of her cure). ANY bug/insect that carries a virus and it bites you, you get the virus. Per medical medium Epstein-barr, herpes, Lymes, etc. are of the same family. Lymes is not a bacteria, it is a VIRUS, it is I believe Stage 4, you start getting arthritis (it is not an old person's disease, it is due to the darn virus setting up shop in your body and destroying you, Stage 6 is Alzheimer's type memory problems). Western medicine got it wrong on the Lymes virus!!!!! Before the arthritis, depending which herpes virus bit you, there are 60 of them) there are six stages of the virus breaking down your body as the decades go by. Medical Medium, Anthony William, has the 3rd eye open (as we all can, you have to exercise the pineal gland so get educated on how to do that, probably the best gift you can give yourself!!!! ) he wants us to drink 16 oz of fresh celery juice we make every day for 4 years, plus starve the virus out of your body, cannot eat any kind of meat, no eggs (viruses favorite food), no wheat, no grains, nor dairy, nor sugar and you must eat anti-viral foods like raw wildflower honey, white and sweet potato, lemon or any kind of citrus, onion, garlic, wild blueberries, supplements - lysine, lemon balm, cat's claw, etc. I choked down the celery juice but by winter, the celery was soooo bitter I just could not stand it (celery juice has salt minerals that we do not know of yet) but did not give up trying to kill the herpes 1 and Lymes I have .Then I read the Norwegian lady's story.

Buy Tincture of TEASEL from a reputable seller three 4 oz bottles (if it is with alcohol, the contents will last forever) work up to 9 drops every day (do not rush the drops, one drop 1st day, 2 drops 2nd day, 3 drops 3rd day til you get to 9 drops, when you get to 9 drops, mark the date so you take it for one year, it is nasty as well, put a drop or two of food grade peppermint drops in it!!! ). If you rush the drops, you can get the herx effect where you feel way worse than before you started the drops. These viruses cause thousands of diseases, migraines, headaches, bladder issues, eye problems, high blood pressure, gout, Epstein Barr, fibromyalgia, MS, fire of the mouth disease, nerve issues, liver problems, diabetes, arthritis of any kind, thyroid issues, cancer, sooooo many, many health problems. Since we play outside as kids, 99% have been bitten by something so we all should do this remedy and if you are young or live in bug infested areas, do this every 5-10 years. Google medicalmedium.com anti-viral foods and start chowing on those so everyone can get healthy again, the idea is to starve the virus out of us!!! (My hubby and I are on our 3rd week now.)

Please do this remedy and SPREAD THE WORD TO EVERYONE (parents, grandparents, friends) YOU KNOW so they can get well with us!!! For those of us that have a virus or two in us, the covid vaccine made us way worse in pain, it reactivates the virus!! Take enough Vitamin D and do 1/2 lemon every day and it will keep most things away ( I buy quite a few lemons at Costco, juice them, put them in ice trays in the freezer and pop two of them in my drinks every day…do not heat the lemon, it kills the immunity)

Re: Turmeric and Arthritis/Joint Pain

I am 84 years old. Am I the only one that goes into a detox mode with turmeric? I had an experience with msm doing the same thing to me. Msm was like magic where the pain is concerned. no longer needed to take prescription pain pills. I was really a happy camper. Could literally break into a sprint while it was working so well. Then started to feel like I had the flu. layed in bed trying not to even blink my eyes.Years ago I took pycnoginol and was warned that it could cause detox like symptoms so I was ready for it. Not terrible...got over it quickly.. But the msm was awful .

Started on the turmeric instead. Now here I go again - pain in the joints worse... everything hurts.. so I stopped this one too...Is it just my age that makes me so vulnerable? I never read anything about detox being a side effect, or how to handle it if it happened... But I went to the computer and typed in.... turmeric and detoxing.... and there it was... lots of info on it.... I hate the real pain pills... The government is eventually going to stop them all anyway... I would much rather go the natural way..If anyone has a solution on how to avoid the detox or how to control it to some degree? I would love to know it.. I am still raising kids and need to keep the physical side of me together. Any knowledge or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all,

Elinor, granma in Texas.

Elinor, I also had some issues with both. The msm I got off wheat gluten and then no problem. The turmeric it was the other ingredients. The most troubling ingredient [I was sick for nearly 2 months] it contained titanium dioxide. I have found many added ingredients to be troublesome. From what I have been reading the titanium dioxide is used in nano form, which means it penetrates more than it should and reactions are severe for some. Janet

Elinor, regarding your experience with MSM, it is quite possible your pain was/is due to going off the prescription drugs. I'm assuming they were narcotics ...and people do become 'hooked' on these 'pain pills'.

Hi,

I am very interesting in taking turmeric powder in higher doses for my arthritis but I am allergic to black pepper. Is it beneficial to take turmeric only with coconut oil besides cooking with it. Thank you. Margaret

Dear Margaret,

We have found turmeric to work quite well even without the black pepper. I think purists think the black pepper isn't necessary!

MAMA,,,,,,,,,, I have no clue, but all my reading says that Cayenne is the KING. This spice will make all others work more better. Think it is because it causes the blood to thin and gets to places spices normally would not otherwise go. That is the reason I take it when I go into A FIB. My Dad had an A FIB and it killed him instantly when the clot formed and hit his brain. His problem was in yesteryear. Ole Doc Ranier would come to the house and take a handkerchief and pull on his tongue. If that did not help, then he pushed on his eyeballs until he could not stand it. Then he would have him stand up and hit him right in his heart. That usually worked. Times have changed a little, but I can almost promise you that most doctors cannot get you out of A FIB. They tell you to go to the emergency room after 24 years of schooling. Welcome to American medical education.

I do not do rat poison, but do Nattokinase because it does the same thing, but does not create a whole new wing at some pharmaceutical plant. You really help people with your down home counsel and I commend you.

There are getting to be fewer and fewer of folks on EC that have been half way around the watermelon. We do have some bright ones coming on like ART. I was so delighted to see Joyce of Joelton, Tn posting recently after several years of absence. She has sent us all to school over the years. Sorry to veer off subject, but you know I's a story teller.

I wish you well. =====ORH=======

Dear Robert Henry,

Well, your story about how a family doctor got your father out of a fib is fascinating! My great-grandfather was a doctor in rural NC around 1900 or so. He did house calls. He charged $5 to deliver a baby. Or sometimes he would be paid for his services with a bushel of apples or wheat. Times have surely changed. I never knew him but have seen his accounting books. Amazing.

Regarding cayenne...I love it myself. It has helped my family with strep throat, hemorrhage, poor circulation....among other things....I know it is used as a catalyst and maybe it would do that for turmeric for someone who cannot take black pepper. Apparently, black pepper is used to potentate turmeric because of the piperine in it, which cayenne does not have.

I would love to come up with an experiment to see the difference in how turmeric versus tumeric/black pepper versus turmeric/cayenne affect healing. Maybe some day!

I heard a story over the weekend about turmeric and black pepper so I thought I would update this thread.

My friend said that she took turmeric with noticeable results. But when she took turmeric and black pepper it made her feel inflamed.

Obviously turmeric does not need black pepper to work and black pepper isn't for everyone.

A fascinating thing to me about natural treatment is how individual it can be. It is as much an art as a science.

Dear Connieyes,

My new favorite way of taking turmeric is in a liquid supplement I found at Costco. Qunol. I have seen it on Amazon, too. It does have the black pepper in it, but you can't taste it. Not sure how they got turmeric so palatable, but I got my 11 year old to take some today without batting an eye.

I had been taking turmeric capsules, but I have found this liquid turmeric to be more effective for joint pain.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Yes, I agree, tumeric is the go to but I was advised to take 900 mg a day. This dosage works wonders but be prepared not to sleep at night. It works like an over the counter diet pill. Your brain never shuts down. I am still trying to figure out another dosage that will let me sleep plus work on the pain.

I understood turmeric does not work for arthritis unless taken with "fats". I couldn't figure out how am I going to take it with fats, but I see a post below that has butter with it, so will check that out.

Maybe if you use it in the cup of milk recipe on here, it will work. I have a whole bottle of caps that I have been wanting to take but don't know how to take it with fats. A friend of mine spreads a ts. of it on her chicken when she is frying it. any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I sprinkle turmeric and ginger on eggs, baked potatoes and vegetables with a little salt-free butter (I use sea salt) and/or coconut oil. You can add some to potato salad, egg salad or tuna. When I sip turmeric in a little water, I take a spoonful of lecithin granules.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I am a 68 year old female and have had arthritis for several years, mild to severe. I started taking 2 turmeric capsules that equaled 1.44 grams of Turmeric about 6 weeks ago and was amazed at how well it helped my severe arthritis. In about 2 days I felt no arthritis pain. So I continued the Turmeric and was doing good. Then I had some gall bladder problems and digestion problems. After reading that Turmeric can affect the gall bladder, I quit the Turmeric. Can anyone suggest something to take with the Turmeric for this problem? I would really like to continue the Turmeric or maybe I should only take it when I have arthritis problems. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

As a holistic practitioner for over 35 years I recently did a very thourough research on Turmeric, known as the Holy Spice in the mid east, cheifly India. I have seen great results for arthritis from Hepatitis C, as a topical mixture for sores and cuts and a host of other ailments. Just took my 2nd 00 cap for today. As it is an astrigent it can also detoxify the body as I have observed with my patients. It is worth studying and there are scientific studies showing the efficacy of Turmeric on several conditions with little interaction with other treatments. I am with you and will take this for the rest of my earthly life. 500 billion blessings of health to all who read this.

Turmeric for Crohn's disease & Arthritis

I started taking turmeric for arthritis and got my mother who is 69 taking turmeric pills as well, 600 mg per day in one pill. If I run out of pills for longer than 4-5 days my knuckles start hurting and it's hard to bend my index finger. I make sure I don't run out any longer.

My mom has been faithful about taking the turmeric pills and just recently mentioned how she thinks it is helping with her Crohn's disease. She had emergency surgery in 1992 for an obstruction and they removed a large portion of small intestines and colon. It was due to Crohn's disease but they didn't diagnose it until after the surgery.

Since the surgery in 1992, my mom has narrowed down what foods bother her to eat. She cannot digest any kind of fat. Red meats, fried foods, nothing with fat digests and if she eats anything with fat she gets bad diarrhea sometimes all night long.

Since she has been taking the turmeric she has noticed that when she cheats and eats pizza or french fries (knowing full well what she will endure later after eating those fatty foods) she has found that she isn't bothered by the fat now and doesn't get the bad diarrhea.

She does take 2 different over the counter digestive enzyme pills with fattening meals to help digest the fat but she has always taken those pills. But now with taking the turmeric pills she can eat more of what she wants to eat without any of the consequences which is a blessing since she is so thin.

Hope this helps someone else. Reading this site has helped me and my family out tremendously. I encourage everyone to give feedback. You never know when it might help someone.

Editor's Choice

I just want to thank the people who set up this website. I was experiencing painful arthritis in both shoulders and I found your site and read about using Turmeric. That was several weeks ago and now I can truly say that taking the Turmeric has changed everything! The pain is nearly gone. I still have some slight discomfort, but nothing like I was going through before the Turmeric. I am praising God for His wonderful herbs and for inspiring all of the folks who write in with their testimonies. I take two 400 mg capsules three times a day and one 500 mg ginger capsule 3 times a day. This site is the best!!! Plus, I have contacted several people on the site who were so helpful and responded with great advice and encouragement. Health and blessings to all.

I started taking turmeric powder about 2 and a half years ago, after seeing on a famous news show that it was one of the main ingredients in a pill that was able to reduce your antioxidant level to zero. I did a little research and saw there was little Alzhiemers in India, where it is a big part of the diet. I was having a bit of a memory problem at the time. Anyways, after about 3 months of taking a tablespoon a day, I noticed my shoulder pain went away. My doctor had said he could do nothing for it, as it was arthitis and that he had it also. Now I notice that I don't seem too concern about memory and I have regained some interest in reading articles. I have had several, 3, cases of skin cancer in the last year, hopefully its due to the years of living in a tropical climate. I tried to stop taking it a couple of times to see what would happen and my shoulder pain seem to start to come back. So apparently it did not cure it but stopped the pain and I am now able to shoot basketball or any other activity. I put it in water and stir it up and swallow the half a cup very quickly as I do not like the taste. I order it 5 pounds at a time and keep a 10 pound supply on hand. Be careful it stains things yellow.

I tried the TURMERIC remedy for boils about 4 days ago, initially with little hope it would work, but in a state of desperation, since this was my THIRD boil in less than 6 weeks, and I had 2 more starting! I went out as soon as I finished reading all of the testimonials on your site, and bought a bottle of Turmeric capsules from my local GNC. That night I took three 500mg caps with dinner, and another 4 capsules before going to bed. (If a teaspoon is good, a tablespoon is better!) The next morning the boil on my stomach, which was a dark purple golf ball radiating excruciating pain the night before, was now a light purple golf ball that was starting to drain, and the pain had gone down by 80 to 90%!

In addition, one of the new boils that was just starting, (a tiny painful pimple,) started to heal, and the other one, slightly larger, while it didn't go away, it stopped growing, and with 72 hours it too drained (really like a normal pimple, only thicker discharge and more painful.)

It's now been about 4 days, and while the large boil is still draining (the core came out yesterday) and is still very tender, it is healing and no other boils are starting.

BUT!

The big BONUS is this: The arthritis in my shoulder that I've been suffering with for the last year, is gone, and even more exciting, I have been dealing with Heal Spurs (Plantar Fasciitis) for about 2 years, and have been suffering TREMENDOUS pain in my foot, every day, all day.

Within 24 hours of taking the Turmeric, my feet have COMPLETELY stopped hurting!!!I plan to continue taking at least one capsule a day indefinitely as a preventative for recurring boils, and as an apparent remedy for my Heal Spurs!!! The real miracle here is that I don't even believe in natural remedies! Thanks so much for the great advice!!!
