I did hrs of research until I found this beautiful site it saved me the embarrassment of having to go to the dr or ask any one of my so called friends! Anyways I am on my way to the nearest drug store to pick up all of my supplies hopefully this is the end of my worries thanks to this website I am able to help myself and save face. I will let u all know how it went ASAP! I just have one question how long do I do the douche until it stops or for a week?"
Replies03/12/2011: Lola from Los Angeles, Ca replies: "Antibiotics completely cured my BV and yeast. But I had to get Chlamydia to get the antibiotics. I tried all the other ones specifically for BV and yeast didnt work. Tried many natural cures. Boric acid worked, and Acidophilus. But did not completely take care of the problem.
Ive had BV for a year, but the Chlamydia Ive only had for a few months, cuz one of my partners tested for it a couple months ago, and he tested negative. He is going to be tested again.
However, getting Chlamydia was a blessing in disguise, cuz I got antibiotics strong enough to cure it."

01/20/2011: Ashley from New Baltimore, Mi writes: "i have been suffering with BV since I first became sexually active at age 17, I am now 21. I have concluded that for me.... My bv is solemnly due from having regular sex. When I am not sexually active there is NO bv. However.... This time the BV came when my last boyfriend and I broke up... That was SEVEN months ago and it is still there. And no I am NOT sexually active but it came about when I was sexually active during the few months I was with him. Whenever we would get intimate I would notice the foul odar but I didnt pay attention to it because there wasnt any burning or abnormal discharge. Long behold it was BV Coming about All along. Strange, it took about a month and a half before it was full blown BV... And then we broke up. coincidence? who knows who cares I have BV.
So I am here to let you all know that I have tried EVERY antibiotic and THEY DONT WORK! I have tried inserting yogurt vaginally... That doesnt work and its messy and irritating. Ive taken oral probiotics and vitamins with no results. Ive tried just waiting it out and literally I feel like ive exhausted everything and this nasty thing is runing my life, my self confidence and My self esteem. I just dont know what to do.
so if anyone else has suffered with BV for over six months straight... And im not talking about it going away and coming back mine NEVER goes away. It would be relieving to know that someone else has suffered the same horrable problem as me so I dont feel like such a freak. Thanks and good luck to everyone"

I have suffered from BV for over 10 years and I recenly found this site because I was tierd of going to the doctor geting the same medication, for it to come right back after sex. And my boyfreind asked if I've always had an odor (so embarrising! ) You name it I had it; the smell discharge the itching I tried using the rephresh product for a while it did help with the smell a little but I knew this was a cure! So I read this site for 2 whole days to come up with my own regiman. I didn't have nerve to doche with Peroxide , put a tablet of acidophilus or inserting a a Tampon with yogurt. Since everyone talked about the folic acid and acidophilus I knew I had to start taking this supplement daily but in addition I started drinking KEFIR I cup in the mornin and 1 at night! I swear after the first cup and 1 pill of acidophilus I noticed an
Immediate diffrence the smell was nearly gone!! I've been doing this since this past tuesday and asked my Boyfreind last nite has he noticed any diffrence and he has as well!U must try kefir I haven't found the grains but I did find a drink with kefir in the organic isle at Krogers it's a lifeway brand. They also have a website! Hope this works for you as well 2 tabs of Acidophilus 1 in the morning and 1 at nite and have a Coffee cup of kefir with each pill."

Is there anything else I can do??? reading your comments are inspirational but I still feel it's not gone yet. HELP?"
Replies[YEA] 02/04/2011: Naturalchic from Los Angeles, Ca, Usa replies: "I've tried all of these "cures" and none worked for me. I decided to research the internal cause and found it to be overgrowth of yeast/candida in the colon. The colon has been found to be the main source of alot of sickness and disease in the human body. I went on a yeast free diet (no dairy/sugar/fruits/fried foods/vinegar/wine/alcohol), you can look it up online. I only ate fresh veggies/salads without meat, as it can slow down the digestion process. Along with changing my diet, I started to cleanse my system of all the old food and toxins. The old food in your colon will cause you to store unwanted parasites and toxins in your body so no matter how many acidophilus you take, unless you rid your system of the old bacteria, it will be uneffective.
I went to a local health food store and bought Psyllium Husks, which is an absorbant powder that cleanses the body of toxins and pushes out build up from your colon. I drank 3 teaspoons of psyllium with 8oz of water immediately in the morning and at night right before bed. Drink psyllium on an empty stomach and wait an hour before eating, at night drink an hour or more after eating. Drink an additional glass of water after each psyllium mixture, also be sure to drink a minimum of half your body weight in ounces of water (weigh 150=drink 75oz) throughout the day(VERY IMPORTANT, psyllium will cause constipation and dehydration of you're not drinking enough water). It is also important to take daily probiotics after this cleanse to maintain the healthy flora.
Psyllium will swell in the digestive track absorbing all toxins and sweeping the walls of the DT, forcing it out of the body in bowel movements. This is similar to a colon cleanse but it is much more natural and less expensive. You will notice that when you go to the restroom it will be in the shape of your digestive track, long and bulk.
Within 4 days my bv was gone!! It is recommended to not drink psyllium for longer than a week at a time. But the best part is that, you probably wont need to, as it is not just a temp fix like many of these other recommendations. Please research colon cleanse and yeast for more info. Continue to keep up a yeast free diet and add in only a few foods slowly, to monitor the tolerance on your system. Also dont forget to take probiotics daily.
I'm not a physician, just someone that has been through years of torture. Hopefully this helps anyone that has tried everything, like me. This is the true cure!!!"

01/12/2011: Yukky Gina Mess\'s from Indianapolis, In writes: "I have been suffering with something wrong with my V for about 10 years now! When I first started having the problem it was itchy, burned when I peed and had a cottage cheese dis-charge. I had a very hard time leaving the house due to the burning when I peed. I went to the Dr. And they told me I had over active yeast. After reading this site it seams I may have BV? I haven't really had the smelly odor though. My problem doesn't even really seem existent anymore but it is!!!! Reason being is everyday in the shower I dig the discharge out. YES I put my leg up on the edge of the tub and stick my finger in there and dig it out then I was it with shampoo. You would never know I have a prob. If I didn't do this Im sure the discharge would build up and come out to the outside of my vagina like it used to 10 years ago. I cant live like that so I dig it out. Oh I have also been told by my boyfriend back 10 years ago when it first started that it tastes bitter. IDK.
I am going to start the folic today and I started the acidofolis last night. Took 2 orally and 1 up inside. I am really tired of cleaning my V that way. But when I think about it, after cleaning it that way for prob 9 years I don't think I would feel clean not doing that. Also I have read that alot of your cases you say it goes away and then returns. Mine has never gone away. I have been checked for std's. When they Dr's have swabbed they say they detect yeast. This has been so overwhelming not being able to find out the real prob and just make it go away."
Replies01/18/2011: London from Sandusky , Ohio replies: "NEEM OIL, inserted into the vagina via tampon, soaked in several drops of neem oil, or an empty gel cap, once a day for about 4 to 7 days. Also, a probiotic, (most effective Ive used so far) its called "Femdophilus"by Jarrow brand. The probiotics go directly to the vagina, rather than die in the gut. The most supperior brand probiotic, altho expensive, worth it. Take 2 caps a day"
02/12/2011: Nikkyy from Gillette, Wy replies: "I have had recuring BV for three years now. In the last year adn a half it has progressively gotten worse with recurence. I go to the doctor and get the prescription and it goes away. Then it just returns within a month to three months. It's gotten bad enough with recuring that all I had to do was call my doctor to get the prescription, I didn't even have to see him. It gets bad whether I'm having sex or just going through my menstral cycle. At first I could go almost a year without it showing up again, now it seams to be a regular thing.I have read every post on here. I have to say to some of the women on here that having BV does not mean that your partner is cheating. It is not sexually transmitted. However, sexual relations can cause an inbalance in your vaginal PH and cause it to recur. I have spent a lot of time researching alternatives to this ailment that is both embarrassing and humiliating. It has had a very negative impact on my social life. And again, it is back with a vengance. From what I am learning, it's not something you can get rid of but can be controlled. Something occurs in our bodies that cause our PH to go awry. So far, the best I can come up with is we have to find out what will help our own bodies to find the PH balance that is best suited to us. Everyone of us will be different. The antibiotics only work for a short while because it gets rid of the infection or corrects the imbalance but does not repair the deeper issue of what is causing the BV in the first place.
From what I gather, diet plays a role as well as hygein and supplemental intake. I also was researching balncing the bodies PH. Different blood types will have a different PH level that is best suited to them. Finding your bodies own PH level is a start. The gal that stated the colon cleanse had a good point to. We have to keep our bodies free of the toxins we can for better health. I am personally going to start a couple of the things women here have posted. Like cutting out refined sugar and eating better and supplements like folic acid and probiotics like femdophilus or femanol. The yogurt is a definate since I was going to incorporate that into my regular diet sans my workout for derby. I tried the hydrogen peroxide soaked tampon for an hour and it made a difference. Now I need to find a way to get my PH regulated and I understand that it will take changes to accomplish that. I also know that my hormones have been out of whack for years and when I see a doctor they always say my tests are fine. It's because I have adrenal fatigue which affects my hormones but don't show on regular tests. Only a handfull of doctors actually have the knowlege to deal with it. I have to go two states away to see the right doctor, but this is my health so it is worth it. Our bodies are very complex and sometimes we have to go to extremes as some would put it to put them back on track. It shouldn't be an issue because we are living with an issue that is humiliating, embarrassing and burdensome. Sometimes we just need to dig deeper. It really bites that there is not a simple solution to get rid of it. It will take a life change to correct the problem and it will be easier for some than it is for others. I personally will do everything I can to correct the problem and make whatever changes I have to without complaint because any bit of relief is worth it because I have been plagued by BV and it's aweful. Try this site for finding a way to regulate your own bodies PH happyherbalist.com.
Do some extensive research on adrenal fatigue and hormonal balance and find the right doctor to get that straight. If there are several doctors to choose from you are going to the wrong doctor because there are not many. If you're really concerned don't be afraid to do your homework. And please don't tell these women they just need to go see their doctor. It's insulting and I'm sure we are all inteligent women with a serious concern. And we have been to our doctors. Several times. And like me, I'm sure they have even seen several different doctors. We can make this better. I was alone in this until I found this site. I don't recommend the douche unless it is rarely as it also washes away the good bacteria which you need. I will keep posting as I find what works and find some relief."

01/08/2011: Eli from Fort Lauderdale, Florida writes: "Hi, I'm 38, I had BV for aprox/ 1 year, started 2 months after the birth of my second child. Initially was yeast (thick white discharge like cottage cheese, burning, itching. I took over the counter cream suppositories for yeast (didn't help). Dr test and diagnose me with BV, tried the flagyl (didn't help). A homeophatic Dr. In Miami put me in a regimen of pulsatilla other staff, diet change and vaginal douches of distilled water turmeric (powder) and help but didn't cure it.
Then I found this forum. Used the tea tree oil suppository whit not much success. Currently using Hydrogen peroxide with distilled water douches, and yogurt into the vagina 1 a week, and orally taking garlic, yogurt, probiotics, folic acid. I have no burning, minimal itchiness and no odor, but a very thin (almost water) discharge (very uncomfortable), that started about 3 weeks ago and is getting worse. I'm eating a regular diet and planing to go back to cutting the carb intake and exercise. Anybody with this problem?I'm concern but I don't want to see the Dr, because he probably will put me on anibiotics again. Anybody knows a good Homeopatic gynecologist in this area? Does any of you have this symptom, Please help!!!"

I also would like to know about the tampon and the yogurt is there a specific type (plain, strawberry etc... )and how long do you leave it in? and does the peroxide and water solution work as well? Tired of taking antibiotics for ages which made me feel so ill, and then the infection comes back anyway so really wanted a natural remedy. Searched the net for months and was losing hope till I came across this site, and now am trying the acidophilus, B-12, zinc and folic acid. I couldn't understand why it kept coming back till I saw one comment about semen containing sugar which can upset the ph balance of the vagina - my partner has type 2 diabetes and we don't use condoms so I wonder if this is what has made it keep coming back? Has anyone else heard about this? Fingers crossed these tablets will sort me out once and for all. Thanks so much to all the ladies who have commented on this problem, it has helped so much."

03/24/2010: Kai from Parsippany, Nj, Usa writes: "I now have my second bout of BV and was REALLY upset that the prescription for Metrogel cost me almost $50 (my deductible not yet met for this year). After reading on this site about acidophilis (sp?) and folic acid, as well as the hydro peroxide douches (something I have never done before), I thought I would get them and give them a try as well.
Can anyone tell me if taking the pills while also doing the metrogel is going to interfere with each other? I figured if I spent the money, I should probably use it.
Also, I am highly sexually active and asked the gyn about it while on the metrogel - she said wait until I was done with the tube, SEVEN DAYS. I'm seriously tweaked, because I JUST finished my period and I'm just not one of those women who likes to have sex during my period (I feel like a bloated, hemmoraging whale and that does NOT make me feel sexy). Poor patient boyfriend is getting a little here and there, but I have needs too, you know? I'm certainly willing to wait until the majority of symptoms subside, but is it ok to have sex using condoms at that point? We don't usually use them because I have an IUD, but if we have to use them we will.
Any thoughts would be appreciated."

02/15/2010: Mystery from Pembroke Pines, Fl, Usa writes: "I have been battling BV since October of 2009. I went to the DR to have it checked out and she prescribed that metrogel stuff. I told her this is my 2nd time getting BV and it's very embarrassing for me to deal with this b/c of the strong Odor I was experiencing. She recommended to me not to use it for 7 days straight, to use it for 4 days and if the smell came back just starting using the metrogel again so it will resolve the problem. She also gave me a refill on metrogel in case i ran out. I found myself getting agitated b/c the smell would go away and then return after my period EVERY MONTH! I was getting sick of that nasty gel coming out always having to wear panty liners.
I read around, googled, prayed, etc to help get rid of this horrible condition and that's when I found this site. I am so thankful to have found a site that has so many different remedies to use right in the comfort of your home. The only challenge you have is finding what works best for you. Which is fine in my case b/c I don't have insurance and trips to the DR are not cheap!!
Anyways I am doing HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, FOLIC ACID AND ACIDOPHILUS combination. I am hoping I will get great results!! I will keep you all posted with my progress!!
Also I was wondering if having BV hinders you from getting pregnant?! Has anyone had this experience yet?"
02/16/2010: Shandy from Limerick, Ireland replies: "I don't know if BV can stop you getting pregnant, but I thought to share my experiences with BV.
I started having problems a few years ago. Went to the dr. got precribed the medicine, it healed, but then was back within 2 months. I have 4 teen daughters so we're a very 'in touch with our feminine side' household. Everyone knows how to wash, wipe etc. This was my first experience with an STD since I was a teen. I am also married so there's no multiple partners. On my second trip to the drs. where I was almost in tears I was so frustrated about being back in his office so soon he took the time to explain a bit more. He told me in medical circles BV is often known as the 'clean freaks disease' (!) He asked me a bit about my bathing habits. I shower every day and at that time was washing that area with shower gel. I was also ice-skating alot and taking long baths with bath oils afterwards to ease the sore muscles. Basically he explained some women's vagina's ph level is very sensitive - and almost anything can throw it off, which then opens it up to the bacteria to invade - in my case it was probably perfumed shower gel and bath oils, but also sanitary products, condoms and seamen can do it! I dropped the washing my privates with perfumed stuff and only use water and sometimes 'simple' or sensitive soap with no perfume. A private midwife friend suggested using a tampon dipped in live bio yogurt, which I now do after periods, and for a few hours after sex as a preventitive - and so far it's worked."
06/28/2010: Vixen from San Francisco, Ca replies: "FYI BV is not an STD."

[YEA] 12/24/2009: Kim from New York, Ny writes: "I wrote a post on BV sometime last year. The acidophilous and folic acid worked temporarily, but then sometimes it had no effect at all, esp after sexual intercourse or after my period. Then, I really changed a lot of habits and so far so good.
Bottom line: REALLY had to change my lifestyle.
No alcohol, very little sugar in my diet (including sweet fruits), fresh organic foods, quit smoking, reduced coffee, wear less tight-fitting pants, keep lower body warm, switched to CLOTH sanitary pads, take acidophilous and folic acid every day.
Also! NO birth control pills or antibiotics!
I think this whole thing has a lot to do with contemporary lifestyle. Most of our foods are very processed unless you're extra conscious to make an effort to eat organic foods, and I heard from a guy who works at a cracker company that the additives they use in order to keep the food looking like new is very dangerous. For instance, they might use on ingredient to prevent decay, and something else to give it a certain flavor; okay separately, but toxic if taken together. They don't take this into consideration. I think it's called "chemical coctail effect," and it will cause an imbalance to your natural hormone level; even impotence or prenatal deformity.
Second, I was ill about 9 years ago and the hospital gave me a lot of antibiotics. This completely killed my immune system. This is important b/c the acidophilous is a PRObiotic, which is a natural substance that helps boost your body's own immune system, whereas antibiotics will lower your body's immune system and kill the external virus through the medication's strength. If you've taken a lot of cold medicines, allergy meds, acne creams/meds etc, your natural immune system will likely be very weak! Therefore, don't look for a quick fix. It will only take you a step back from all the hard work you put into the acidophilous and folic acid.
Also, birth control pills will cause BV, too.
Another thing, I saw this documentary that sanitary pads and esp tampons, panty liners etc are very toxic. The cotton is bleached. Second, they use a lot of chemicals to keep the pads or tampons "clean." Artificial fragrances, chemicals to absorb more liquid etc. The thinner the pad, the more toxic it is b/c the chemicals are more condensed on a smaller surface. They tested the amount of toxins that emit from the pads. At first, before menstral blood seeped into the pad was ok, but more and more toxins were emitted as time lapsed. These toxins go into your vag, pores and harm the uterus and ovaries. Also, this is a big reason why we get that rotton smell when we menstrate. It's not really the menstral blood that will cause such a smell, it's because the toxins mix with the blood and cause this, not to mentin cramps. Of course, tampons are worse because it's like you've corked yourself up. The smell, cramps, bloating will be worse than when using pads. I changed to organic cloth sanitary pads. They feel amazing! No sticking to skin, no scraping, cramps are almost nonexistent, smell is gone.
I've been away from my bf for a month and a half and the BV is gone. Don't know if it's b/c I'm taking better care of my diet or if it's b/c I'm not having sex. Maybe both. I will update again after I see my bf again."

12/25/2009: Complexion90309 from Ft. Worth, Texas replies: "For me it was a cheating man even though he said he didn't (he did), got rid of him, no more BV!!! I never got BV until one particular guy. And yes when your ph balance is off you will get a weird smell but just like the lemon juice, vinegar will even out your ph as well. But if his penis is dirty even from masturbating you will get it cheating or not he has to keep clean, and when changing sex partners let your doctor know because everyone has a different bacteria. My doctor gave me Metronidazol (flagyl) it cleared and didn't come back until I slept with the same guy again, opps!!!!! that explains, he needed the medication as well, so I ask him to go to the doctor with me, he took the medication as well, I finally left him alone after that."
08/30/2010: Beverly from Landover, Md replies: "Complexion90309 from Ft. Worth, Texas you should do a little more research and talk to your doctor. BV is not an STD and you don't get it from a "dirty penis". It could be your partners semen that is creating the imbalance. That is why when you hadn't had sex in a while you weren't getting the symptoms. Don't get rid of a good man for lack of knowledge about your body and how it reacts."

I am willing to try anything at this point and will indeed try the H2O2 douches, acidophillus pills, folic acid, etc. I have had hemorrhoids for almost a year now in addition to having several very bad yeast infections and NOW I seem to have BV as I have all of the symptoms you all are having, however I am ALSO having severe itching skin around my rear end. I itch so severely from above the top of my clitorus to the back of my hiney crack that I am ready to get the wire BBQ brush out and commence scratchin'! Please HELP! I can't sleep for the itching/burning and when I am awake I can't stand myself and can't go anywhere in public for the itching. It is embarrassing and I honestly feel like I may go insane at any second!
Here are my 2 my questions: How can I also remedy the itching on my rear end (as I am convinced your remedies will cure my girl parts) AND (2) If my husband is carrying this bacteria on his penis, how can he get rid of this also so we don't pass it back and forth?
Thank you so much and I look forward to you responses."
05/14/2010: Tuttie Frutti from Las Vegas, Nv replies: "Sounds like what I went through for almost a month. I had extremely severe, uncontrollable itching with no relief. I went to the doc and he gave me a cream for the itching and typical vaginal suppository for yeast, he thought it may have been yeast even tho I absolutely had no symptons. I used them for about 2 weeks with absolutely no relief. I actually did not have yeast but an allergic reaction and the redness were hives. I got an antihistamine and within 4 days the itching was subdued and in about a week the itching finally stopped. I also started using all natural soap to wash down there, stopped using lotions in the area, washed my clothes in allergy free detergent, stopped using dryer sheets and fabric softner to hinder anything that was causing the allergic reaction. With hives/skin allergies, it take the antihistamines a day or 2 to take effect because it affects all the layers of skin, so be patience."
05/16/2010: Psa from Buffalo, Ny replies: "When I get the itchies like that, I wash up, put a little bit of plain yogurt (make sure there are live cultures in it) on some toilet paper and then wipe. Relief is immediate and I'm totally clear within a day or so."

So finally I decided enough was enough and went to my Gyno doctor, where she told me I did not have BV but I have PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE! This can cause infertility and pregnancy complications that can cause death! Please please get to the doctor before you self medicate yourself! Some of the symptoms of BV are similiar to PID and if you have any pain what so ever, get to the doctor and get checked out!"

Replies07/15/2009: Vera from AZ, USA replies: "I just wanted to reply to Lus: Did you get the copper IUD or the plastic IUD with hormone? About a year ago I had a copper IUD removed that I had for over 6 years. I didnt have any problems with bacterial vaginosis though. There is a time limit to how long a woman can have an IUD so I got mine removed. I talked to my mother in law and she said she had the copper IUD and never had any problems so I went that route. I didnt want to try anything with hormones. I hope this helps"

[QUESTION] 06/28/2009: Anne from Richmond, British Columbia, Canada writes: "I suffer from BV so I did a little research on the internet about it. I have read a number of times that douching is not recommended and that it is likely for women who douche to suffer more health problems than women who do not, and this include vaginal irritation, etc, and more importantly BV... BV! Yet a lot of people in this site seem to recommend douching with hydrogen peroxide and to many, it seems to work. Now I am confused as ever as to what "douching" really does. Is it safe?"

05/27/2009: Johanna from Frederick, MD writes: "Hi Everyone, This is a great site. I have been suffering from some type of vaginal infection for the past 8 years. My symptoms are a little different from what I'm reading. Sometimes I get a little white discharge, no smell, and no itch. I do feel intermittent irritation in the vagina (often after eating) and during or after sex. My doctor thinks I have intestinal dysbiosis and I am on lots of probiotics and Nystatin (oral). The biggest problem I have is even if I don't feel any pain, I am passing the infection to my husband. He will often feel inflammation after sex and has been diagonsed with prostatitis a few times after having unprotected sex with me. If we abstain or he uses a condom, he has no problems. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have never been diagnosed with any infection. The culture always comes back negative and I don't seem to have the obvious BV symptoms. My doctor says my vaginal PH is normal. I also get rectal burning after bm's and I often can feel the vaginal burning after eating (especially something heavy). I am a vegan and pretty much just eat fruits and veggies now. This seems to help with symptoms. I was also recently diagnosed with a severe Vitamin D deficiency. In doing some internet research, I found that there is a link with infections, including BV. Does anyone else have any experience with Vitamin D deficiency? My doctor put me on 4,000 IU a day. But, I am taking about 10,000 IU a day. I am anxious to see if this helps. I have been using the hydrogen peroxide douches 2x/day with femdophilus (take powder out of capsule and wet) inserted in the vagina at night. I am also taking the folic acid, but too soon to tell. Since my symptoms are not severe, it is difficult for me to tell if I am getting better. Last time my husband was infected, I had no symptoms and he ended up with prostatitis. Needless to say, he no longer wants to have unprotected sex and doesn't enjoy sex with a condom--so we don't have much sex anymore. If anyone has experienced anything similar, would love to hear from you. Thanks for all the great ideas and insights."

05/23/2009: Kara-Lea from Winnipeg, Manitoba writes: "Hi, I have had BV for almost 2 months now (thinking it was my first yeast infection) I have been on antibiotics twice now (each time, it seemed the inserts just exacerbated the problem!) Now, I have not got the smelly discharge yet, in fact, I have had ultimately no discharge since I finished my medication on Monday (and I am naturally a very wet person) - I am scared because the outside of my vagina (and somemwaht the inside) is dry and sore as well as I have no scent down there at all (my own or fishy) Any ideas? Thank-you ladies :)"

05/23/2009: Disgusted from Farmington, Missouri writes: "I have been suffering from BV for as long as I can remember. I am 33 and just spoke to my doctor about it last year. She gave me a gel and it worked temporarily but came right back. I later started to see a new doctor (D.O.) and informed her of my long ongoing problem and she too gave me a presciption but dont remember the name, they were vaginal ovules you insert. AGAIN, this only worked temporarily. I also did the betadine/water douche for two weeks and it did help for a while, but of course it came back almost with avengance!!! I have changed soaps, I dont sleep in my underwear (which are cotton) I use a blow dryer to dry myself completley when i get out of shower. It is VERY frustrating and EMBERASSING!!!! I came across this website in my last attempt to find some solution to my insanity and I cannot tell you how excited I am about starting this new treatment. I HOPE THIS ONE WORKS!!! I am so tired of living like this, I dont' like to go outsdie in hot weather or be too active because I know the consequences of it. I can even smell it right after I get out of the shower. I will report back later!! Thank you all so much for this website! Take care!!!!"

I have felt dirty and depressed for 5 years now I am praying this works. I came accross women selling books in order for you to find out the cure. I was almost in tears......they clearly are lying because anyone that experiences this will never want anyone to endure such symptoms as these. It is sooooo awful and I don't even want to be around anyone. I will be back to share my testimony....
Thanks"

04/25/2009: Arielle from Dover, DE/USA writes: "I have been reading the stories about all the cures for BV, and I'm surprised to see that you can actually insert the acidopholus tablets in your vagina. I had just been taking them orally, while also eatting yogurt daily and multi-vitamins, along with fresh friut and vegetables. A good healthy diet is key ladies. I still suffer periodically from the foul odor and smell, so I will definitely try the folic acid and inserting the acidopholus vaginally. I just wanted to say that it is VERY important that you dont use ANY scented products in, on or around your vagina. I had to learn this the hard way. I used to use scented tampons, panty liners, pads, and fragranced soap when washing up. BIG no no! Also, I used super plus tampons during my period, so I wouldnt have to go to the bathroom every hour to change. BAD IDEA. (Some of you may be thinking "What an idiot", but hey you live and you learn) Long story short, I know use SCENTLESS pads, I no longer use tampons at all, SCENTLESS pantiliners, SCENTLESS soap, OH! and I also only use ma hand to clean down there. My gynocologist says that you shouldnt use the same cloth/sponge to clean your body as you do with your vagina. If you do, it needs to be changed daily. Your washcloth/sponge builds up bacteria while it sits out in your bathroom while ur not using it. Thanks everyone for all the useful info!! I will get back to you with feedback after i try the folic acid with the acidophlus inserts. THANKS AGAIN!"

03/23/2009: Becky from Janesville, WI writes: "I am starting to think BV is the government's secret weapon of mass population control...making women not want to have sex and making pregnancies fail. Just a thought. So I have had chronic BV for about 3 years. I'm assuming I got it while dating this so-called man who was also sleeping with his stripper ex, which I found out later. Anyway, for the longest time I thought I was just a freak with some nasty disease. The gyno never told me it might and most likely come back again and again. Yeah, I got the Metro crap from the gyno, and of course it kept coming back always with a vengance. So I just gave up on going back to the doc. Once in a while I would get this thick stringy stuff coming out of me, like the stuff that sticks a credit card to the paper, you know...but haven't had that for a long time now. I have NO idea what that was all about! But yes, I get the thick, white, smelly stuff pretty much constantly. It sucks. I have been a vegetarian for 23 years, I'm 29 now, and for the last ten years I've been taking regular supplements. Folic acid has always been in my cabinet, take it twice a day because it promotes healthy hair, which it does!, but I have never noticed it working for my BV. I came across this website about a month ago and I am freaking out because SO, SO MANY WOMEN HAVE THIS! Why isn't there more information out there? Why do the people that have "THE CURE" want to charge $30-hundreds of dollars to "help" women get their lives and sanity back? Crazy. This BV imbroglio is way out of control. I also can smell myself in public. I work in food and even over the food smell, I feel like I can smell myself, even in a smokey bar, I CAN SMELL MYSELF, THAT MUSTY, FISHY, DISGUSTING SMELL. Once in a while it goes away, but I don't get my hopes up. I know it's coming back...AT THE MOST CONVENIENT TIME...RIGHT!?! I did try the hydrogen dioxide douche deal, and when I went on the toilet to empty it, I could physically see the cleansing power, but that is only temporary. I'm supposed to be moving out west in a couple weeks and I'M SCARED! I know the BV is going to tag along but I so desperately want to leave it behind. I feel that my dog and my cat are the only ones who are going to love me unconditionally and they are always there for me no matter what. God bless my babies. I cannot believe so many women have had this for so long and there is nothing we can do about it. About giving up coffee, sugars, pasta...no way in heck I'll be going there! Pasta is very high in protein and I LOVE PASTA, as for coffee and sugar...never crossed my mind to let those go! So now what? I went and got the acidophilus today, popped one of em, and I'm contemplating inserting one. I also bought cranberry tabs for the possible prevention of UTI, and got antioxidant formula with minerals. So I'm currently taking about 12 vitamins daily, well my hair looks great, we'll see what happens "down there". Good luck to all, I know it's hard. It's a daily stuggle, waking up in the morning and like clockwork, we smell ourselves. Everytime we go potty, we smell ourselves. ALWAYS SELF CONSCIOUS, NOT WANTING TO EXPLORE A RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE IN THE BACK OF OUR MINDS WE KNOW WE FEEL DIRTY AND WORTHLESS. I love all y'all, and keep on truckin!!!!"

03/18/2009: April from Lafayette, Indiana, USA writes: "I am responding to all of the awesome suggestions to treat BV. About 2 weeks ago, after having sex with my husband I noticed an awful smell. At first I didn't think too much about it. Well, after a few days, the smell did not go away, even after bathing. I have not had any itching or unusual discharge, just the strong odor. I have been too embarrassed to tell my husband about it or anyone else for that matter. I did finally ask my sister about it & she suggested looking on webmd for suggestions as to what might be wrong with me. When I realized that I might have BV, I wanted to find a natural way to cure it, so I stumbled on this website. Thank God! I am going to purchase the folic acid & the acidophilus tablets and pray that they work! Wish me luck!"
Replies07/25/2009: Barbie from Maryville, Tn. replies: "I feel I need to share some info with you. I too had BV one year ago, but have not had it since. I cured it thru this website. I read to use a simple peroxide douche. It worked for me and instanly killed the bactiria without ANY incident or bad side effects. It does not burn and is painless. Simply fill a container with straight peroxide and use a NEW turkey baster to insert the liquid into your vagina. Lie back and let liquid stay inside for one minute. Along with this method, use folic acid daily. I have not had any reoccurance whatsoever since last year. I know this sounds extreme, but it will cure BV. I do believe doctors are aware of this, but it would cost them patients. Hope this helps."
