Garlic Tea

Hello Everyone. Ever since I was a tiny tot garlic has been a huge part of my life. I am full blooded Italian and I can remember while on my way to 1st grade school just a block away from my home my Italian Grandmother would hobble down the street after me calling for me to wait up..."Ashbet", she would call out, means wait in Italian. Then she would proceed to stuff a few cloves of garlic into my socks, for she believed it to keep the evil spirits away. When I went out to play at recess time all the wonderful healing garlic properties would seep into my pores and of course along with it, it's pungent odor. All the kids would run from me and say that I stunk. I would come home crying and of course my mother would pick up on the smell and find the cloves tucked into my socks. I can still hear her hollering to my grandmother, Ma, what are you doing??" My grandmother would reply, " I keeps the Evil Spirit's away", and my mother would reply to her, " and yes Ma, it also keeps everyone away! " Our Ancestor's knew the powerful knowledge of healing herbs.

Here's a great Garlic Recipe for ingesting or making into a tea.

*6-7 large cloves of finely minced Garlic

*1Tablespoon Raw Honey ( Make sure it is RAW Honey). Raw honey in itself is a powerful food loaded with enzymes. The junk honey you find on grocery shelves is refined and useless.

*Add a very tiny sprinkle of Cyanne Pepper appox. 1/6 tsp. or smaller. Cyanne pepper is a high source of Vit C.

* Put a teaspoon in mouth, chew and swallow as often as needed. I guess you can just swallow, but I chew it to release the potent allicin, then swallow. You can also put this into a tea with some lemon and other added super foods like tumeric, a bit of ginger, lemongrass or whatever you desire. Yum. I add a hint of stevia also.

Even without any symptoms, I take 1 teaspoon of this recipe at least 3-4 times a week to stay fit and well.

Hope this gave you all a laugh and helps!

How grateful I am for the healing herbs of Mother Nature. Love and Many Blessings of Wellness to you all.

I was told by a friend that his father was and has been taking Garlic though diffrent methods,. Chewing, leaving garlic in Honey then after months of fermenting would give it to his kids instead of cough medicine, He also leaves the Garlic in Tequila for months and each night before bed he takes a shot. He's 81 years old, rides a bicyle and has a girlfriend who is 34 years old and is now pregnant.. I have personally been taking, along with my friends and family, Raw Garlic for over 5 years and I haven't gotten sick.

WOW!!! Garlic has cured for me every cold that has tried to attach itself to me in the last 8 years. One or two cloves chopped up with olive oil poured over it taken in a tablespoon with a little water after to wash it down. Burns the inner infection out naturally!

Today with my tooth aching I decided to place garlic at my gum where the void and great pain exists. Google just to check, brought me to you and I see I am heading in the correct direction. Thank you all for the confirming comments of health testimonials! I just Love a natural solution! I can feel it working!

I want to thank earthclinic.com for starting this website. It has truly been a blessing to me. I am writing to let you ladies know that, although no one commented that they used fresh garlic as a cure, it really works. I have suffered from BV for 3 yrs (since my husband cheated on me). Every other month after that I was getting recurrences of BV. Like the rest of you, neither the cream's nor pill's got rid of the BV for good. I recently was reading up on how natural garlic heal's so many ailment's. So, I bought so garlic, peeled it and wrapped it in gauze. I tied it with dental floss and inserted it in my vagina once a day, preferably at night before bed. I would remove the garlic every morning before taking my shower. I did this for 7 day's and I am symptom free still today. The bad thing about it is that the smell of garlic doesn't wear off for a while so if you are sexually active often then I wouldn't recommend this home remedy. I hope this remedy help's you ladies. It is alot cheaper on your pocket's. I bought 2 bulb's of garlic for under $1.00.

You are not allergic to topical garlic. Garlic burns sensitive skin. You have a burn! You are supposed to use gauze between the garlic and your skin. You will have to experiment to see how much gauze you need but the garlic fumes and garlic will seep through the gauze but not enough to burn you unless you do not use enough gauze. I use tea bags to make a poultice of garlic. I put one on each side of my back for a lung infection. It is working but at first I burned my skin. Live and learn.

Eliminate Garlic Breath
Posted by Jo-ann (Charlton, Ma) on 12/22/2016

My husband and I take raw crushed garlic every morning. We wash it down with a half glass of (cow's) milk. I read this nullifies the odor in breath and skin from garlic. Right away you can feel it calm your mouth down. It's been 2 weeks since we started and neither one of us smells like garlic!

Garlic Flu Shot Recipe

GARLIC FLU SHOT recipe. I live in chicago but I'm from the south and the cold here is BRUTAL on my system. The past few months we've been having an outbreak of flu. Everyone in my family got it (despite having a flu vaccine) and I was scared to death (I did not have the flu vaccine). BUT, thanks to this recipe I found posted on Pinterest, I survived, nursing them all through their virus without getting sick myself. This is an unheard of victory for me.

The recipe is:

  • juice of 6 lemons
  • 2 tbsps honey (i used raw)
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1 BULB of garlic (yep, that's the whole thing)
  • 3 cups of juice (pineapple, pomegranate or grapefruit)
  • 1 tbsp or more of grated ginger
  • Drink 4 cups a day.
Blend it in the blender and drink, making sure to chew on any garlic clumps that make it through the blending process. Not only does it scare away viruses, it gives you lots of ENERGY. I got fairly addicted to it, and noticed that while I was drinking it, it had the added side benefit of making my skin glow:)

Multiple Cures

I am so glad we have garlic to heal us. I am a normally healthy person but occasionally I get bronchitis and sinus infections. I don't have health insurance so I can hardly even make a doctor visit. Once I had bronchitis so bad it was turning to phnumonia. I had it for two weeks and was only getting more ill by the day. Finally, my brother told me to take raw garlic. I crushed a couple of large cloves and that day my illnesses began to diminish until it was gone.

Also, recently I ate something that caused me to become ill. I didn't know what it was but it seemed much like a stomach virus. I had bad diarrhea for four days straight and could not keep any food in me. I ate less and less because It was no use to eat. Then I remembered that garlic is also anti-viral. So I went into the kitchen and took two big cloves, sliced them very thin and gulped them down with water. (Prior to this I was feeling very on the edge of having to run to the bathroom all the time), but within minutes, MINUTES! I could feel a change in my stomach and the urge to run to the bathroom disappeared. It didn't come back.

Whatever bug I had, the garlic whippped it. For the rest of the day I felt normal and was even able to eat meals without any reoccurrence.

I myself cannot praise the virtues of garlic enough. It's safer then taking many prescription drugs and for me it's always kicked in rigt away after ingesting it. It's cured me when I was "sicker then a dog" so to speak.

Garlic is a true healer of just about whatever ails ya!

Trigger Finger

Hi everyone. About 2 years ago, I was diagnose with trigger finger (on my left middle finger). My doctor told me there was no treatment for it except if it gets worst, a rather painful injection of steriod would be needed. I decided to do some research into home remedies and came across a website (sorry i can't remember the url now) but it did mention about how garlic can help. So I started taking about a few pips of sliced raw garlic together with my dinner every night. What happen about a week after taking raw garlic with my dinner was that I noticed the pain on my middle finger had gone away and the triggering effect had also gone away.

just this past week aa nasty bug was going around that consisted of nasal congestion, sore throat, and fatigue and i caught it. finally on friday i decided i wanted to be well for the weekend so i fished out my natural cures book and found out the MIRACLE. i ate 4 cloves of garlic uncooked... of course the taste was horrendous but i am not kidding after the first one i could feel the difference. it makes sense because of its anti bacterial/fungal/viral properties and its ability to strengthen the immune system. i will do this whenever i start to feel sick because i'm serious it totally cured me within 30 minutes

Dogs and People

Hey neighbor ;0) I was looking for someone that feeds there dogs long term with no negative side effects. Thanks for posting. I have been giving my dog garlic for the past 6 years. I do not use any heartworm medication. I have used it to deworm my sisters dog. I have the tests to prove it;0) I also give him raw ACV. Between the ACV and raw garlic, there is no neew for harmful heartworm meds and flea and tick topicals. I have been taking garlic pills for years but they seem useless.

After reading your post, A light bulb clicked on. I need to be taking chopped raw garlic like my dog takes. I actually was able to take it down mixed in a tablespoon of olive oil. I tried before and couldn't stand it. It's pretty easy with the olive oil. I got that from another poster on this board. I love this site and thanks for posting.

I have one tip for persons using garlic:

Drink lemon juice or eat few slices of lemon.

It kills garlic breath, cures stomach ulcers (for sure prevents them), keeps you safe from colds and flus!

Blood Pressure and Cholesterol

When my blood pressure is high I immediately chew and swallow 1 - 2 garlic cloves. It took at least 2 hours for the BP to return to normal level but you can feel it decreasing after an hour of taking it. When my BP is very high, I take the garlic followed by 1 tsp ACV mixed with 16 oz of water. This works for me every time! But I'm still open for suggestion as I believe that the more options to remedy high blood pressure, the better!

History of Garlic

My house mate told me a trick that works wonders. I mince up four garlic cloves. You can also mash them. I put the minced garlic in a glass of grapefruit juice. Wait about twenty minutes. Then drink it. The grapefruit juice takes away the strong garlic taste. I've used this when getting flu or cold and it works every time. I had a bad cold coming on and had to do it three days in a row. I did this before going to bed. Each day I woke feeling great and the night started feeling sick again. So I would repeat. So simple and so good. I only wish I had known about this years ago.

Storing Garlic

ORH here,,,,,,,, as all know, I's kinda wild and strange. We harvested our garlic bulbs, 1/2 bushel, and have dried them. My dilemma is where to store them as my choices in the past were to too sporty. Know they need to be cool, dry, dark, and in open air. Research showed the the garlic odor will kill bacteria and fungus. Being SJS, here is my solution. I am going to put them in a mesh bag and hang them in front of our central A/C unit. That will meet all the fore mentioned conditions and maybe improve our log cabin air. So, this is another tale of mine, but all use garlic and have quandered where to store. Don't think this will change the smell and it may not work on the toxins in the air. But, I needed a story to tell. ====ORH====

Garlic Allicin Tabs
Posted by John, (Trang Thailand) on 02/22/2018

Allicin, the working part of garlic comes in 2000mg tabs. A while back I went through all my vitamins plus etc. and sorted out the ones that took 2-4 hours in a glass of water to dissolve. Anything taking much longer goes out the back door with your money.

Allicin tabs from Thailand took 10 hours to dissolve. I will look for another brand.

Peeled Garlic Vs Fresh Garlic
Posted by Kate (Uk) on 12/18/2016

I'm not sure how helpful a comment published six years later but a. firstly I'm amazed that peeled garlic is a thing, we haven't become quite that lazy over here yet! and b. I would think you're better off with something with its skin on, and ideally local and organic if you can get it. In at least some parts of the world garlic is irradiated for supermarkets so it won't sprout - I *think* that doesn't happen unless labelled in the UK, but seems to in Canada (eg http://ediblegardenproject.com/2012/10/27/food-irradiation-know-your-garlic/) so might well be in the US. Something raw with the skin off must've gone through some process to stop it rotting (like enzymes or chlorine baths that don't need to go on the label). In the UK, garlic I get from the organic shop has got loads more of a kick than the stuff from the supermarket - sometimes you can't track exactly what is doing what (freshness? farming practices?) but just follow your nose.

Can I also recommend Joanna Blythman's book Swallow This, which is very enlightening about 'clean labelling' - ie putting foods, including apparently raw, fresh simple vegetables through all sorts of food processing that is invisible on the label. For instance, those fresh fruit salads in supermarkets don't go off for several weeks because of an enzyme dip, and harmless and 'natural' sounding words like 'beetroot extract' on a label are actually the same stuff that would have had a long chemical name in the 90s. Only at some point it would've been waved in the general direction of a beetroot. So even if you're a committed label reader, you won't necessarily be getting a very clear picture of what's happened to your shopping, because there's a whole culture committed to hiding it. If you want to get round this, garlic unpeeled and ideally from a local foodchain, not a major supermarket is probably your best bet.

When we feel a cold coming on or get a cold my husband and I mince a clove of garlic in water and then chug it down at least twice a day. We find this to be a powerful way to lose the cold. We now grow 150 garlic plants each year just for the two of us! You won't get garlic breath chugging it this way. I have heard that others blend garlic in water and chug.... That would work too.

Yes! Garlic is a wonder cure to have on hand. I read about it's properties a few years ago and have been using it every sense.

It works like a natural antibiotic, it kills off the bad stuff and leaves the good stuff along.

When I have a Cold or Sinus infection I will use it. I cut up a clove of fresh Garlic as small as I can. Then I will swallow as much as I can in one swallow with water to chase it down, swallow just like it was a pill. You do not have to eat it or chew it . Do this 3 to 4 times a day. I usually do it for 5 to 7 days. I store the cut up garlic in a small glass bowl in the refrigerator.

Tooth Abcess, Infection

Garlic cured my jaw infection! One of molars in my upper jaw broke off about a year ago, all the way down to the gums. I don't have insurance and am mortally afraid of going to the dentist, so when my cheek swelled up yesterday, I panicked. I tried green clay, bit it didn't help much. After sleeping 3 hours and not knowing what to do about the pain (painkillers didn't help much either), I decided to do a search on the Internet and stumbled across your site.

Garlic worked wonders! I chewed it and pressed the pulp against the 'hole' between my teeth. It stung so badly, I had tears in my eyes, but after 5 minutes the pain had subsided. Am absolutely overjoyed! Will continue to treat with garlic, I have a really good feeling about it. Thank you!
