Hello everyone adn thanks so much for the great info. Long Story short is we live in Allergy county and well this yr was yr round for alot of us. I felt tired dizzy sinus issues and almost like asthmatic. So with dealing with all of that I gained 15 pounds in 3 months and was really depressed. I got to thinnking about my diet and realised I was eating pretty bad cheeese pizza dining out lots of salt ect. # days ago I checked my bp to see if went up due to the diet wieght gain as this has happened before. And it was 140/78 pulse 97. So I have changed my diet to no salt, cherries avacado seafoodfresh/frozen (not the breaded) chicken beans veggies. And started the cool water swims. After my laps I lay on the floatie in the water and put my head in the water and do a major head massage off/on 5- 10 minutes.

So today after discovering this site and before doing the cool water swim my bp was 141/78 pulse 103 3:30 pm. So I drank 3 tbs of the organic ACV then took a capsule of Cayenne 450 mg did my above swim workout and after my shower my bp had dropped 122/68 pulse 89 5:58 pm. This is remarkable. The cold water feeling is truly a miracle. My head is clear I feel like a million bucks. ANd thanks to this website and wonderful people I started the ACV and am so happy how quick this worked. I also have lost 3 pounds in just 5 days. I truly hope this info is helpful to you alll out there. I wish you all health wealth and happiness.

Xylitol

Hello everyone,

Ted mentioned to use either Erythritol or pure Xylitol to lower blood pressure. Erythritol is a substitute sweetner - do these products actually lower blood pressure significantly? Has anyone tried them and got good results? Thank you!

Special Diets

This is a must for those with HBP issues. I believe HBP to be directly related to the type of sodium in our food or artial plaque build up. In my case, and yes I had test run by a medical facility and everything was in good shape, my blood pressure always seemed to be borderline at around 130 over 90 and sometimes depending on what I ate or drank would go up to 140 over 95. So I believe my HBP to be related to the type of sodium in our foods.

I have expermented with this and can make my blood pressure increase and decrease with what I eat in my diet. My BP came down in one week to 118 over 76. I was truly amazed. Well after losing motivation I soon slipped off the diet and my BP slowly crept back up. After starting the diet once again, my BP was down.

I will give you the basic diet I used (There is a book on this, but I know Earth Clinic does not want titles or products) So you will need: A blender; Whey powder; Sea salt (All natural/unbleached); Ground Flax seed; Ice; Fresh or frozen fruits and veggies; Raw almonds and other nuts; Beans; Dairy of any kind, must be fat free or 1%; Unsweetened, unfavored instant oatmeal; Eggs; Lean meats; Peanut butter (again all natural); Olive Oil;100% Whole Grain cereals and bread; Berries (Fresh or Frozen); and Low fat yogurt.

So the goal is BP reduction, but you will lose weight with this also. You will be eating every 2 to 3 hours 6 times a day. Serving sizes should be no more than the palm of your hand and you basically combine the foods such as,1 ounce of almonds with 1 ounce of raisins as a snack or an apple and a cheese stick. For supper, a serving of Tuna, Spinach, Peas, and a glass of fat free milk. For desert, a few pieces of dark chocolate. I hope you get the idea.

The very best part is the smoothies though because you can actually drink 6 of them a day instead of meals and snacks. Take a blender, add 1 cup of crushed ice or 3 or 4 ice cubes, 1 cup of Fat free milk, 2 Tablespoons of low fat vannila yogurt, 2 Teaspoons of Whey powder. These are your basic ingredients and will be in every smoothie you consume. Now you add fresh or frozen fruit of any kind (about a cup) and 2 Teaspoons of peanut butter OR 1 pack of cooked instant oatmeal and blend (this usally makes two servings). A serving will be 12 to 16 ounces and can be drank up to 6 times a day spaced apart at every 2 to 3 hours.

A few teaspoons of flax seed spread over salads or added to smoothies is a good addition. Just remember to try to cook from Raw and add sea salt for flavor.

You can do smoothies all day or you can combine the other foods as snacks and meals. I really do wish I could name the book (Diet). Snacks can be a cup of low fat yogurt and a boiled egg or an egg sandwich on 100% Whole grain bread. I really hope this will help. Incorporating bananas and asparagus as part of this diet will help keep the kidneys flushed from sodium. If sodium is the cause of your HBP, this should be a cure.

Lycopene for High Blood Pressure: Lycopene in cooked tomatoes is supposed to be very good for high blood pressure. Apparently you get the most benefit from cooked tomatoes and apparently that's why a Mediterranean diet is supposed to be so good for you. I wondered whether you can buy it in tablet form and found that these tablets are available from health food stores.

Be Careful With New Supplements!

Warning

about a month ago i started an amino acid for low mood and anxiety , suntheanine. it made me feel so calm, just wonderful. i can find no side effects noted on any website, however i believe it made my blood pressure go up.hindsight, i think it's wise to monitor your bp before and after starting any new supplement.because everyone is different. i was taking 100mg of suntheanine in the am and 200mg with 500mg gaba at night to rest better. i started waking up with a dull headache and a sickish feeling which prompted me to check my bp. usually 110/60 it was 136/86.i thought it was going to be too low! i stopped the suntheanine and gaba but my pressure still stayed up. today i took 2 doses of acv (2 tbsp with the sediment in it in water) and i started feeling like my old self my bp was 123/69 so i know i'm on the right track. it was reported on the mayo site that often prescription antidepressants cause the bp to go up and the cause is unknown. i figure maybe its the same with natural supplements too, just depends on the person.since i quit the suntheanine and gaba i don't wake up with a hangover feeling. my bp went up a couple of years ago when i took rhodiola and i stopped it

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

For around 12 months Ive been taking acv - 2 tablespoons with 1/4 teaspoon bicarb in a glass of water on an empty stomach before going to bed Ive also been oil pulling twice a day on empty stomach, 5 days a week for both. This has my GERD under control most of the time but my blood pressure which has been high for years, for which im on medication, remains high as does my cholestorol, this is hereditary and i think maybe in these cases, drugs may be the only answer. I don't smoke, drink moderately and my diet is quite good, i.e. i dont eat much fat........

I just discovered that my HBP is 188/117. Haven't checked it since 2002 when it was considered perfect. I've been reviewing this blog page and I'm trying to figure out if its the ACV mixed with water or the ACV with Mother mixed with water that is what really works. Is it the Veniger, the Mother or the combined pair that makes up the vital component?

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

Well after reading your comments I decided to try this. I visited the doctor about a week ago and was surprised that my reading was 167/80. I was floored. I know that I need to exercise, but I don't use heavy sodium. I am 47 (birthday tomorrow) and I would like to see 48. I went to the GNC and got the ACV with Mother and made the drink with 2tlbs of cider, 1/4 tsp of baking soda and 8 oz of water. Did not taste that bad. I did take my pressure prior to drinking it was 127/79. I think the spike previously was I took Sudafed for a headache. But still high. I will be tracking the results for the next two weeks and see what happens. Also I have made myself a promise to start some kind of exercise program. Wish me luck. Thanks for the site.

Passion Fruit Juice
Posted by Sanjita (Wigan, Lancs, United Kingdom) on 02/21/2009

To Vicki: I have just learnt from you that Passion Fruit Juice lowers blood pressure. I was also introduced to this juice by friends from Kenya. It is available by the glassful in restaurants of Kenyan origin. Yet whenever I try to purchase the fruit and squeeze the juice, it yields very little juice. I live in a place where we dont get Passion Fruit Juice in restaurants as it is only available in the London restaurants. Do you know how the restaurants manage to get such large quantities of Passion Fruit Juice. How do you get your juice, as the one from cartons/tins is not the same as the fresh variety that we get served in restaurants.

Thanks. Sanjita

Alena, a simple D&C should not have caused bleeding to the point of anemia, and if you were anemic before surgery, it should have been corrected before doing it. Did the doctor mention any complications during the D&C? You might want to ask for a copy of the surgical report, to see if you can learn why you are anemic.

Hello all, it is good to see that there are others like myself looking for alternatives to meds. I am a 40 year old female and after a dnc surgery procedure my bp had escalated and now i am anemic. I have fought and warded off the advice of my docs to take the pills for a year but since have been suffering from bad headaches, and anemia. Therefore, i had to give in and started taking my meds as of jan 1,09. My bp has since increased rather than decrease. Recently on a dr's visit my pressure went up to 180/110. My doc then recommended that i double up on my dose from 5mg to 10mg. I am so happy i stumbled onto the suggestions on this site and tonight i started my first dose of 3tblspoon acv and 2tblsp of molasses. Will keep you posted on my progress. If this works, why haven't the doctors made reference to it? I have lost all beliefs in doctors. Thanks for allowing me to share, will check in next week Tuesday with updates.btw, my bp pressure tonight was 147/98

Hydrogen Peroxide

I had an injury to my tongue from biting it. The dentist recommended using a product called Peroxyl, which is just a flavored 1.5% hydrogen peroxide solution. It helped the injury to heal, but as a by-product my blood pressure was lowered significantly. I did go beyond recommended usage. How much hydrogen peroxide is enough and how is dosage determined? It is easy to find food grade H2O2 at 3%.

Natural Progesterone Cream

I though that the following might be of interest. I am a male of 57 years. I had a heart attack and subsequent angioplasty with stents when I was 45 and then until earlier in 2008 I was fine.

In June I had a series of heart attacks followed by bypass surgery. All went really fine but shortly after being released from hospital I developed very high blood pressure of 200+ over 100+. Despite various changes of medication by my doctor, my blood pressure would not stay under control and so I started my search for "other" remedies, which is what lead me to this site.

I tried the Apple Cider Vinigar cure, and although it did relieve the acid indigestion that I sometimes suffer from, it did not help with my blood pressure which despite continuing to take my medication would often read 210 over 118 or more (The ACV did not help me to lose any weight either.

It seemed as if a stroke was inevitable and I was beginining to despair when I read that L- Arganine helps to lower blod pressure. I tried the maximum recommended dose (as well as my meds) of 1 gram 3 times a day, and did see a little improvement, but still in the region of 170 over 95.

Then I made a break through. As you can imagine, I have spent a lot of time seaching the internet for help (hope) and I have read just about everything that has been published from the various research papers regarding high blood pressure. I read a report that natural progestorone cream - in addition to many other benefits - lowers blood pressure. Three weeks ago, I started to apply natural progesterone cream at the dose of 10 mgs morning and evening. I continued to take 1 gram L-Arganine 3 times a day as well as using my medication.

Yesterday morning I took my blood pressure reading and to my delight it was 127 over 89. It stayed around this figure with all of my daytime readings and this morning was 130 over 84. I know that this may not seem to be a great reading, but for me it is fantastic. I am not recommending any of what I have tried as being right for anyone else, but it may be something that others may want to research if they, like me, cannot get their BP under control.

I know that you all don't want products submitted, but if I don't give it, no one will be able to find it. It is for High Blood Pressure and worked for me on the very same day by the end of the day. You must experiement a little with dosage to get a good range for yourself-range is indicated on the bottle. Start small, and if not good enough, work up from there. You can find the info on - http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/innovation/serpina.htm and
http://www.himalayahealthcare.com/products/serpina.htm . It is also sold on www.blueboyherbs.com -http://blueboyherbs.com/herbs_ayurvedic.htm. I hope that you all share this information. It seems to be a little known cure but the best and fastest working one I have ever seen for high blood pressure, stress and anxiety. It comes from a plant in India and has no known side effects. If a person is on blood pressure medicine, the pressure lowering effect would be too great if taking them both, so if they are trying to wean off of thier medication, I would probably start with 1/2 a Serpina pill and work up slowly as they take themselves off of the blood pressure medicine while closely monitoring it. They don't want the blood pressure to drop too low. Serpina is normally effective by itself. It helps lower and regulate the BP as your body gets in the cycle. In the meantime, you want to take measures to get healthy. You may be able to lower your Serpina intake. If you come off the Serpina and are still doing the same old thing, the BP will gradually go back up again. You can continue to take the Serpina, but I would think that you would want to make some lifestyle changes to be healthier. I hope this helps many many people. God bless!
