I'm currently battling a large, golf ball size boil in my breast region. Unfortunately this is a recurring issue. I kept reading about turmeric and even tried it once but didn't see much change in terms of bringing the boil to a head.

Thanks to this site I learned that turmeric is fat activated and black pepper helps adsorption. So I tried again. My issue was too far gone so I couldn't just take the turmeric pills. I took a two prong approach by creating a turmeric paste with turmeric, butter or coconut oil, black pepper, salt, and water. It made a nice paste that I covered the boil with, covered with a bandage and left it over night. In the meantime, I made Chai green tea with turmeric, black pepper, burdock root, lemon and manuka honey. I drank this tea 2 to 4 times a day. It took 3 nights for the boil to burst but once it did a lot of infection came out. I also added turmeric capsules to my regimen at 2 capsules with every meal.

I'm so happy turmeric is something I can use to keep this issue in check. My ultimate goal is to live a cleaner lifestyle which includes turmeric capsules as a preventative measure.

It's just like when you take acne medicine. It's getting all the inflammation out of your body and it has to get worse before gets better.

First I want to say I consult with earth clinic whenever I have a health concern. Doctors are a 'no resort' for me.

To heal a stubborn boil in a place where 'the sun don't shine', I read the posts on earth clinic to read what people were using. I devised my own recipe based on common use. It made my boil disappear in a few days. Here it is... 1 teaspoon turmeric, ground black pepper, 2 tablespoons coconut oil, half mug milk, half mug warm water. Stir well until coconut oil has melted and drink once a day until healed.

I hope other readers find my cure helpful. Good luck. Never give up hope.

With regards to boils and recurring skin infections. Check your urine for sugar. As this tends to be a problem in Type 2 Diabetes. It can go unnoticed, without symptoms for years.

The problem causes a Syndrome, High sugar, leading to High blood pressure, and the sugar causes the immune system to go on strike, and not be able to handle "Staphylococcus Arius" the main cause of boils, while the sugar levels remain high. In the western world it has reached epidemic proportions. Once the sugar has dropped the boils disappear.

Turmeric seems to bring on an intense draining of the boil, without any other intervention other than keeping it clean and patching with absorbent tissue. Definitely recommended.

Dear Jo,

According to the National Institute for Heath, turmeric is considered safe for pregnancy in the amounts you would use in food. In some countries, turmeric is used regularly and often everyday in food.

However it's effect has not been studied on pregnant women, so no one can say, "for sure". I checked several sources and could not find turmeric on a "list of herbs to avoid in pregnancy." Some herbs have estrogenic properties or purgative properties. These herbs are always on such lists. Turmeric is not estrogenic or purgative.

Turmeric is a blood purifier and therefore good at detoxifying. For that reason, I would personally not want to use large amounts of it in pregnancy. Pregnant and nursing moms need to be careful about detoxifying their bodies since toxins would come out in the milk of a nursing mom, and would likely also cross the placenta.

Our bodies are detoxifying regularly through sweating and elimination, so some detoxification is normal, but you wouldn't want to go out of your way to cause extra detoxification during times of pregnancy and nursing.

If I were dealing with a health problem in pregnancy and was having to decide between a strong anti-biotic and turmeric (say for MRSA), I would chose turmeric, and use the smallest amount needed to deal with the problem.

Because turmeric may be a natural blood thinner, I would avoid it in the last month of pregnancy, except in amounts normally used in food.

I hope that will help you to make a good decision!

Dear Diana from Milford PA, Why not see a gynocologist and get a for real diagnosis of what this problem is? Is your health and well being not worth a couple hundred dollars? The most anyone here can do is GUESS about what this problem is. You need to see a qualified doctor to KNOW what the problem is. Any treatment has to be based on knowing what the problem is....Oscar

I'm grateful for your encouragement. Have had a blasted small boil on the upper right corner of shoulder front. Then, tried several $$$ remedies that have done very little.

Today made a paste of turmeric, pepper and extra virgin coconut oil and put on it. Then drank a warm cup of water with 1 tsp. of turmeric and dash of pepper. (Oh, forgot to say, developed a 'rash' all over my body that was driving me crazy! And, after reading all the stuff on this have concluded there must be an internal infection (staph in all probability, had been in contact with a hospital and very ill person previous)so decided to 'cleanse' with that also.

Thanks again for the encouragement. Donna

I started with Tumeric for this persistant boil, but improvement was slow untill I added Cream of Tartar, It seems to make the pus more fluid. The last boil of this type that I had lasted for a few years I suppose it was more of an abcess. It grew and shrank untill I tried to lance it myself, needless to say I then had to go to the Doc. and get some amoxicillan. Which incidently cleared it up fast. But Cream of tartar does something to the bacteria the infection was over within a couple of teaspoonfulls, but as it was large it took a couple of weeks to completly drain. If you feel one coming on start with a teaspoon of cream of Tartar morning and evening in some milk, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Bit of a back story.. I experienced my first boil about 1 month ago, on my inner thigh, I believe caused by an ingrown hair. I thought it was abnormally large, and drained a lot, but never thought it to be a boil, because I had never had one. Anyway, it drained and went away(leaving a scar, anyone know how to help get rid of those in the pubic region?)... But about 4 days ago, I noticed a red bump (that grew quickly, and swelled a lot) on the exact opposite spot on my other thigh... Like complelely mirrored spot. I read posts, started taking 4 turmeric capsules, and applying oil of oregano and all sorts of helpful home remedies... I didn't notice much of a difference.. So I just went to the kitchen, and used actual turmeric spice, a cap full of it in grapefruit juice. I also made a paste of oregano oil and turmeric and applied it with a bandaid. The swelling has gone down quite a bit already. I am hoping it drains tonight. If I remember, ill update. Regardless, try turmeric! Bulk spice, not capsules.

I've had a boil on my pants line for a month with a small hole in it which ive squeezed out some mucky looking stuff. So I put a tea spoon of tumeric in a glass of soya milk and downed it twice a day, over a couple of days.. I also mixed some honey with tumeric and applied to the boil. It is now draining well.. Tumeric definitely works.

Do yourself a favor and don't stop the treatment. Do a maintenance treatment from here on to avoid getting another one. 1 tsp of turmeric in warm milk and a little honey to taste or in the water like you did if you prefer. 5 days on 2 days off for me but at least 3 days a week and you won't likely see another one. Cheers and best wishes

Just about to pass out from pain that has lasted for over 48 hours, I decided to search for anything I can do from home for a painful boil looking spot under my left breast. In one article I read I can make a poltice of turmeric and honey and apply it to affected area. Lucky for me, I had some in my well stocked spice rack. I applied it and covered with bandage right before bed and kid you not, by morning (7 hrs later), I could barely feel any pain in the area.! I am getting ready to do it for the second time and I can only pray it will be totally gone. Thank God for internet, if I would have gone to my Dr, I would have been on antibiotics right now..yikes!!!

I have had trouble with the taste of turmeric also. I have tried a number of ways to prepare it. I just finished a turmeric smoothie. I cut up an apple and threw it into my vita-mix with some almond milk and then added about 2 tps of turmeric and a good dash of curry powder (I like curry). I also added about a tsp of organic coconut oil for absorption purposes and blended it all up. It was actually pretty good and I never thought I'd say that about turmeric. I am going to try some other combinations such as cinnamon in place of the curry powder. We'll see how that goes. I found that the vita-mix is such a strong blender that it thoroughly mixes everything and I don't have to keep stirring as I drink because nothing settled to the bottom of the glass. Is there a page dedicated to recipes somewhere on this website?

OH MY GODDDDDD!!!!!!! I can't express my feeling in words. Plus my English is not so good. I am a lab researcher who graduated medical university. Basically I don't believe home remedies. I always use more "scientific" treatment and stuff which is not very helpful with my boils. Like, antibiotic, incision, ointment with AB... But this Turmeric thing really changed my whole mind. I usually get boils 1-3 times a year from my high school age. Now I'm 25. When it develops furuncle, that's a bad ass pain. I always lose my mood, ability to work, sleep, my normal life style, sometimes can't walk, sit or lie down. I use antibiotic, ointment, everything, except turmeric. It all ends up with go to boil incision to make drainage and one week packing with packing strip. It sooooo suckkkkkkkk. I hate that.

Last saturday, I got my recurrent boils, small one on my abdominal area (not again). Even though, I'm so depressed and got anxious, because I know it will develop painful nasty, hurtful big boil. Then started to take of it from outside, like ointment with triple antibiotic, washing, banding, vitamins, minerals, stuff like that. But it grows bigger and bigger, more and more painful, and got pink, red, then purple. I really didn't want to go operation room. Then I found your site and read amazing TURMERIC stories. First I didn't believe. But I tried. It workeddddddddddddddd!!!

My 18 yr old daughter had these weird pimple like things in between her breasts and thighs. I've never seen anything like them and the DR said it was from sweating but they are like really big hard pimples with black heads at the top. GIANT! So she's been taking Turmeric internally 400 mg (3 times a day)that I bought in bulk and put in empty capsules. PLUS I bought a bottle of Almond Oil and I just dumped a bunch of Turmeric in it. She puts that on externally every other day. With in a couple days they were scabbed over and clearing and yesterday (1 week)they were healed and just fading away. NOTHING has ever worked that well and I'm not even sure what the heck she has but I figured it's in the boil, pimple something aisle (LOL). Turmeric also instantly faded my under eye darkness and two age spots on my face. I put the oil mixture on and then I spread some Turmeric on a bandaid and put it over the spots ALSO and go to bed. The only downside is Turmeric STAINS and my bathtub has yellow spots everywhere but we all know it's Turmeric so it doesn't bother us. LOL! Plus it works tooo well - small price to pay - a fair exchange isn't a robbery!

After having an abcess surgically drained about 8 months ago, a new boil started to surface recently. I had taken so many antibiotics during my first go around with this sort of thing that I had to find a different way to treat it. The antibiotics made me feel terrible, to say the least. I found your site and thought I would give turmeric a try. I went to the grocery store, bought some in the spice section and took my first dose in a bottle of water on my way home! I mixed a teaspoon with water 2 times that day and 1 time the next morning and after just 3 times I had absolutely no pain in the boil!!! It took about a total of 4 days for the boil to completely disappear. I was so amazed!! Glory to God for giving us nature to heal our bodies...if only the media and government would recognize it. Thank you for your site!

I have had boils since I was 13 years of age, I am now 56 years old. I have tried everything imaginable even doctors, antibiotics of all kinds and lancing. My sister told me about this site and off I went reading. I just happen to be experiencing one of my episodes with boils. I bought the turmeric and smelled it and tasted it and no way that would go down and stay down. So I bought empty gel capsules and filled 4 to 5 of them with turmeric powder, from an Indian resturant/store. That is equivalent to 1 tsp. That did not seem to be doing much, until I read one of the newer accounts that indicated that turmeric was oil soluble. So I bought some Almond Oil and honey and tried the tea recipe, but no way I could drink so much tea. So I did a paste of 1 tsp turmeric and about 1/2 tsp almond oil. I also add a drop of honey just because I bought it. It looks like peanut butter. I make this paste and with a paring knife I stuff it into the gel capsules and drink them down with water. No taste in my mouth and it works. By the end of one day the pain of the boils was gone. I just had to write to let you all know. I will continue and see how long I can get away with not having any boils. Lord willing, it will never happen again. Thanks to all who have passed on their testimonials.

I was at my wits ends. I contacted the staph infection, it seems, from being in the Atlantic Ocean. It was the middle of April when we were at the ocean, but it was the end of April when I had the first out break. A boil on my behind. I had never had anything like this before and wasn't sure what it was. We (my husband and two boys, 14 and 7) were camping when it started to come up. It got the size of a baseball before my husband lanced it for me. By this time I was running a fever, body and joint aches and just felt like crap! We made it back home and to my doctor, who gave me an antibiotic. No testing or anything like that. Just gave me the anitibiotic! The next day, I pulled out this hard lump that I have now found out is like a core or something. I can not describe how much better I felt after that and it was almost instantly! Well, that was the end of April and since then I have had 3 reaccurances and as of yesterday, when I found this web-site, I was working on 6 boils! I was depressed and scared. I went to another doctor when the second boil appeared, who tested me for Mersa. I don't have it, but they still didn't want to give me another antibiotic. They want my body to fight this! I thought I was going to have to live with this for the rest of my life. I'm a very active 45 year old. I was so afraid I would not beable to enjoy the things, like swimming with my boys that I use to enjoy. Then I found this website and read ALL of the testimonies and finally felt like I was not alone! I immediately called my husband and asked him to pick up so turmeric from the grocery store on the way home. I put 1 teaspoon in a cup of warm water. I added a little chicken seasoning for taste. That was at 8 pm. I did it again at 10pm. Drinking a lot of water afterwards! This morning, the only active, painful boil of the six is the largest, but it too is smaller in size. My husband said they are going away. I can not tell you how relieved I am to think that maybe I have found something that will take this away from me. Just felling like there is hope again is a wonderful feeling. I do have questions if anyone can answer them for me? How do some of us get this while others don't. There were alot of us in the ocean that day, including my boys. My 7 year old asked me why he didn't get it. I know this is contagious, but how?

Again thank you for posting this website and I hope and pray that everyone who is dealing with this horrible disease finds this site!
Debbie

I had a very painful boil under my armpit and tried using the very old turmeric from my pantry without luck and so ended up on two rounds of antibiotics. A month later a boil appeared under my other armpit. This time I bought organic tumeric and applied it as a thick paste mixed with paw paw ointment to a bandage overnight. The boil which hadn't come to a head drained in the night and the boil healed. I also chugged a bottle of colloidal silver over the same 12 hours.

I have been sufferig with recurring boils for 3 months now. I had never had a boild before in my life. THe first one showed up on my waistline. It was terribly painful and took about a week to burst and drain (no core). Accompanied with the boils I had swollen glands that never burst but were painful amd sore. The next 2 were the back of my right thigh. They were small, pimple like but very sore. They burst and drained left a small hole but still not core. This last one has been a nightmare. It is in the same spot as the original on my waistline. I can't sleep becasue of the pain (800mg of ibuprofen did not help at all). I was hours away from going to the doctor but dreading the thought of having it lanced and being placed on antibiotics that I did not think were going to work due to the research I have done online about boils. And then I came across your miracle site. I am a teacher and I ran out on my lunch break to get the capsules and some powder. I cook with turmeric and had some at home but I could not wait to get the process started. After trying the GNC which only had the capsules containing maltodextrose (thanks for the heads up) I got the Turmeric "One Daily" 600mg at my local herb shop. I immediately took 2 (1200mg). that was at 12 noon. Let me reiterate that the pain was so bad I was nauseated and almost passed out in the shower this morning. I also mixed up some of the powdered Turmeric with neosporin and put it directly on the boil with a band-aid. However I removed the band-aid after reading several messages about the rawness that was left after direct application. It was starting to burn a little and I got a little scared. When I got home at 3:30pm I was still in pain but was able to lie down and take a much needed nap(I have not been sleeping well). When I woke up (7:30pm) I eat a banana and took 2 more capsules (1200mg) almost immediately the pain subsided and the swelling that was 2 inches in diameter had gone down considerably. Thank you so much for this valuable information. I will post an update as to the progress. My hope is that when it finally begins to drain I can get the core out and coninue with the Turmeric regime as a part of my daily supplements. You saved me pain, time and money. I can't thank you enough!!!!!!!!!!!

Groin Cyst / Boil Cure: I scoured the web for solutions and testimonials for my wife's very painful groin cyst. I found the stories about Tumeric (and many other alternatives) and I suggested she try it. She took a teaspoon in warm water each day over a couple of days and it was completely gone! No trace. We were both so amazed and inspired there are simple solutions around for such problems!

Turmeric brought my boil to a head in 3 days:

I was kinds skeptical about buying Turmeric, but I will be darn! This stuff brought my painful recurring boils to a head in 3 days. I followed the instructions from the site, had my husband stop by the local Publix and pick me up some around $4.00. I took it with Apple Juice after sampling it by itself (YUCK).

I took it internally and applied it externally overnight. The next morning, I woke up, it was oozing pus, blood, and clear liquids. WHOO HOO! I had been in pain for 2 days already. This hasn't kept me from outbreaks but it does help slow them down.

Thank you to all that post on this site. I saved me from yet ANOTHER visit to the doctor.

Thank you Earth Clinic! I tried out the turmeric cure for boils--since I don't mind the taste I mixed ~1/4 tsp turmeric powder into a couple bites of food (oatmeal in the morning, cole-slaw, tomato juice, etc.) 3 times per day for two days. I also applied a paste of turmeric powder and neosporin directly to the boil. The turmeric quickly got rid of a genital boil.

I also want to report an unexpected benefit from the turmeric. I have been suffering from insomnia for about two years, and have tried many things, both conventional medicine and alternative cures I've read about on this site. ACV or ACV + baking soda, vitamin D, coconut oil, raw garlic, lemon or lime juice, cognitive behavioral therapy, blue light therapy, and 1/2-2 mg lunesta taken on occasion have all helped somewhat. But esp. in the winter and/or around my menstrual period or when travelling I have continued to have real trouble both falling and staying asleep. One night last year I did a sleep study at a local clinic, and they recorded me being awake for the entire night. They had no suggestions for how to fix my problem, since I don't have sleep apnea. Diagnosis: insomnia related to perimenopause.

The genital boil appeared just before my menstrual period (the usual time for it to appear), which is also the time of the month I begin to have the most trouble with sleeping. BUT, after using turmeric, I've been able have restful sleeps--DURING MY PERIOD!!!--three nights in a row now. This is a true miracle. I'm going to keep using the turmeric (maybe I'll buy some capsules, will carefully inspect for extra ingredients).
