Natural Remedies for BV

Bacterial vaginosis is a common bacterial infection among women. It can be a chronic and disturbing health condition. Natural remedies are effective for bacterial vaginosis and include hydrogen peroxide, folic acid, apple cider vinegar and dietary changes. It is important to eliminate bacterial vaginosis not only because it is an embarrassing problem but because it is associated with other health issues.

Natural Remedies for BV

An acute BV infection can be embarrassing as well as frustrating. To bring immediate relief while working out a plan to eliminate BV forever, try either of the following remedies:

Apple Cider Vinegar Bath

Add 1 cup of raw and organic apple cider vinegar to a warm bath and soak for at least 20 minutes.

Hydrogen Peroxide Tampon

Mix 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide (3% hydrogen peroxide from the store in the brown bottle) with 1 teaspoon distilled water. Soak a tampon in this solution and insert vaginally. Remove after 30 minutes. Significant improvement is often reported after one treatment.

The following recommendations can be used over weeks or months to ensure that bacterial vaginosis is gone once and for all.

Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic

An apple cider vinegar tonic, taken by mouth helps many health problems. It promotes proper pH within the body. 1-3 teaspoons is taken in 10 ounces of water once or twice a day. The “rescue remedy” apple cider vinegar baths are also great for maintenance. One bath every week or two can be helpful.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide was discovered 200 years ago. 1  This anti-infective solution is simply hydrogen and oxygen. It has been used as an antimicrobial for many decades.

When the vagina is healthy and the bacteria are in proper balance, the “good bacteria” (probiotic) lactobacilli produce hydrogen peroxide. This hydrogen peroxide helps to keep “bad bacteria” like Gardnerella vaginalis in check.

Probiotic supplements are one way to promote this important natural process. Using hydrogen peroxide in the vagina is also very effective.

Hydrogen peroxide can be used in the way described above on a tampon or it can be used as a douche. A store-bought douche can be purchased. Empty the store bought product from the douche and replace with a solution of hydrogen peroxide and distilled water.

Do not use straight 3% hydrogen peroxide in the vagina as it will burn!

Store bought hydrogen peroxide, the kind in the brown bottle, is a 3% solution. It must be diluted with equal parts of distilled water. For example, mix 1 cup 3% hydrogen peroxide with 1 cup distilled water.

The hydrogen peroxide douche or the hydrogen peroxide tampon can be used each night for a week until the infection is under control. Then it may be used once every week or two for maintenance. (The tampon method being preferred as frequent douching can be stressful to the vagina’s natural balance.)

If it seems to be necessary to used this remedy on an ongoing basis, likely one or more other remedies may be necessary. Dietary changes can make a big difference if hydrogen peroxide seems to be only a temporary solution.

Boric Acid

Boric acid is a remedy for vaginal infections that midwives have recommended for generations. One boric acid capsule is inserted vaginally at bedtime three nights in a row.

For prevention of future infections, use one capsule vaginally at bedtime once every two to four weeks. Using one right before or after menstruation can be helpful when BV is related to the monthly menstrual cycle.

Probiotics

Probiotics help the body to maintain proper bacterial flora. Probiotics, taken orally, help the entire body to maintain this proper balance. For stubborn BV infections, probiotics may be used vaginally. One probiotic capsule is inserted vaginally at bedtime each night for one week.

Supplements for BV

Vitamin C

Vitamin C helps the body fight infection and supports the immune system. A 1,000 mg vitamin C supplement can be taken three times a day to eliminate or prevent BV. For most women, vitamin C will only be part of an overall regime to eliminate BV. Sodium ascorbate powder is the best type of vitamin C to use. If a dose of 1,000 mg vitamin C causes loose stools, reduce the amount to 500 mg.

Check labels when purchasing vitamin C. Many contain artificial sweeteners and MSG.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D deficiency can cause many health problems and can make one susceptible to bacterial vaginosis. Taking a vitamin D supplement daily can eliminate or prevent bacterial vaginosis. Because vitamin D is fat soluble and the body stores vitamin D, vitamin D toxicity can result if large doses are taken for long periods of time. If it seems that BV is only kept at bay with large amounts of vitamin D, it is wise to have blood work done occasionally to ensure that the body is not getting too much vitamin D.

Folic Acid

Folic acid is a B vitamin. A folic acid supplement is a good idea for all women of childbearing age not only to combat and prevent bacterial vaginosis but to prevent birth defects as well.

Garlic

Garlic is a powerful antibacterial herb and can be as effective as an antibiotic to get rid of a BV infection.4  Garlic can be taken orally or used vaginally.

A garlic supplement is often the easiest way to use garlic, especially for those who do not care of the taste of garlic. To use as a natural antibiotic, take a garlic capsule 4 times daily for a week to 10 days.

Fresh raw garlic is an inexpensive option for a natural antibiotic and is quite powerful! Separate one clove of garlic from the bulb of garlic. Peel and mince with a knife or garlic press. This garlic can be mixed with honey and taken by the spoon. It can be added to an afternoon salad or spread on buttered toast. One clove of garlic should be consumed 3-4 times a day for a week to 10 days to eliminate infection.

Garlic is sometimes used vaginally to treat BV. Do be careful with the method as garlic can burn the skin. To use garlic vaginally, separate one clove of garlic from the bulb. Peel the garlic clove but do not nick the clove. Wrap this in a piece of cotton cloth. Insert into the vaginal opening before bed and remove it in the morning. If any irritation results, apply coconut oil to the vaginal tissue.

Essential Oils

Many essential oils have antibacterial properties. However, essential oils are quite strong and care must be taken when using them, especially in sensitive areas. Never use essential oils undiluted in the vagina!

Tea tree essential oil is antibacterial and antifungal and is especially helpful when yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis become cycling.

Tea tree oil can be used several different ways to combat bacterial vaginosis.

  1. Mix together 2 drops of tea tree essential oil with 1 tablespoon of water. Soak a tampon in this mixture and insert vaginally. Leave this in overnight.

  2. Add 1-2 drops tea tree essential oil to an empty gel cap. Fill the gel cap the rest of the way with olive oil. (Do not use hydrogenated oil!) Insert this vaginally at bedtime.

One treatment may be sufficient depending on the severity of the infection. Otherwise tea tree oil can be used for 3-7 nights in a row. If after 7 nights the infection has not completely resolved, dietary changes and supplements will likely be necessary as well. After 7 days, give the body a break from the tea tree oil treatment for at least a week.

Activated Charcoal

A fascinating study found that tampons with a 10% solution of activated charcoal were effective for BV and this treatment rarely had an adverse effect on the good bacteria in the vagina.

Activated charcoal is commonly used to remove odors and has many applications in combatting infection.

To use activated charcoal for BV insert two charcoal tablets or capsules into the vagina at bedtime for one week. Use a pantyliner as charcoal can be a bit messy. As a preventative, use the charcoal vaginally once a week at bedtime.

Diet

Dietary changes are often effective in preventing bacterial vaginosis from returning. Diets high in sugar and simple carbohydrates tend to feed bacteria. These foods are also filling and can prevent the body from getting necessary nutrients. Try to eliminate sugar from your diet for at least a month and see if your bv symptoms improve.

A diet high in whole and unprocessed foods is ideal.

Freshly juiced vegetables used on a regular basis flood the body with nutrients and can help the body’s pH to remain more alkaline, preventing infection. Short term juice fasts can benefit the health, however, long term “juice only” diets can leave nutritional holes in the diet and have unintended consequences.

Stop Smoking

Smoking can increase the risk of bacterial vaginosis. Certainly it increases the risk for many health problems. Smokers who cannot get rid of bacterial vaginosis no matter what remedies they have tried may find that quitting smoking is the longed for solution.

Health Practices

It is tempting to cover up unpleasant smells with store-bought deodorizing body products. However, many body care products contain chemicals that are harsh on the body. They may be a very temporary fix to an embarrassing problem, but can disturb delicate tissue. Simple apple cider vinegar or hydrogen peroxide (both diluted, of course) can reduce odors without damaging tender tissue.

Wear cotton underwear and pants. Synthetic materials do not breathe and can promote infection. It is also more difficult to get odors out of synthetic materials.

While frequent use of pantyliners may be needed if there is a discharge, these liners also do not breathe. Consider investing in some reusable cotton pads. Wash according to manufacturers directions. Vinegar rinses when doing laundry can keep all laundry fresh smelling.

Store bought douching products should be avoided. Douching can push bacteria deeper into the vagina. The exception to this rule is the hydrogen peroxide douche. But even this should not be the long term solution. Employing the above remedies should make hydrogen peroxide douching to be rarely necessary.

Coconut oil has antibacterial properties and makes an excellent personal lubricant. If the vagina is irritated from continued efforts to eliminate BV, coconut oil is soothing and healing to the vaginal tissue.

What Are Symptoms of Bacterial Vaginosis?

  • Vaginal discharge that may be thick or watery, cloudy, white or gray
  • Foul odor
  • Fishy smell
  • Pelvic pain
  • Burning sensation
  • Cloudy appearance in urine
  • Worsening of symptoms around menstruation

Asymptomatic bacterial vaginosis is also possible.

What Causes Bacterial Vaginosis?

Bacterial vaginosis is the result of an imbalance in the vagina.

Good and bad bacteria reside in the vagina and when this balance of bacteria is disturbed an infection can result. This imbalance may be a result of pH imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, or hormonal changes. Some body care products and douching can disturb the balance in the vagina and infection can result.

Bacterial vaginosis can have a sexual component but that is not always the case. Because it can be sexually transmitted, sexual contact should be avoided during an active infection.

Antibiotics are the conventional method for treating BV. Unfortunately, once the antibiotic therapy is complete the infection often reoccurs. Even multiple courses of antibiotics do not necessarily eliminate bacterial vaginosis. Additionally, antibiotics also disrupt the bacterial balance (flora) in the vagina, and a yeast infection can result.

Complications of Bacterial Vaginosis

Beyond the embarrassment and inconvenience of BV, bacterial vaginosis can cause other complications. 6

BV may cause problems for pregnant women including pre-term labor and post-partum endometriosis. There is an increased risk for babies born to mothers with BV to have birth defects or neurological problems.

Bacterial vaginosis appears to make the body more receptive to HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. 7

Natural remedies for BV focus on restoring proper pH to the vagina, keeping the flora of the vagina balanced, providing nutritional support to the body and optimizing hygiene practices.

In response to Lynn's post on 11/09/17:

"I know this is an old post but hoping someone sees this comment and has an answer. I don't understand how alkalizing the body works for BV. BV happens when your vaginal pH is more alkaline. Normal is 3.4 - 4.5 and once it goes over 4.5, then you start to see bacteria taking hold and developing BV. So if you alkalize yourself even more, how does that stop the BV? My pH is currently 6.5 and was told it's due to menopause (3.5 yrs post menopause now) which can lead to BV (which I seem to have right now based on symptoms). Menopause dryness can lead to a higher pH. Just wondering how this works."

BV occurs when the body becomes acidic and reduces the oxygen needed for the necessary concentrations of the good bacteria lactobacillus and facilitates the the growth and increase on concentrations of the anaerobic bacteria, that is responsible for causing BV. The increased intake of alkaline increases oxygen production, which in turn increases the growth the lactobacillus bacteria that keeps the vaginal ph balance in check. Therefore, the alkalized water works on the same premise as nutrients, antibiotics, medications, supplements, etc. The alkaline in the water enters one's blood stream, system, and tissues, like anything a person consumes will do, reduces its acidity which regulates the ph balance, returning it to normal.

I hope this helps you understand how it works. It is pretty simple really if you know the difference between acidity (acidosis) and alkalinity (alkalosis) and the role each plays in maintaining and/or damaging the health of the human body.

So I've had BV for a long long time. 16 years. Honestly.
An old bf messed my pH up and it's been a battle ever since.

Years of month after month of antibiotics making my pee brown and not being able to have s3x for days on end and then when having s3x again... it would come back the next day.... I had enough.
I've done almost all of it. Everything helped but nothing got rid of it.
A pharmacist after seeing my script list said I'd be a candidate for boric acid. It helped but always came back.
Found out about biofilms. And started researching. Could get relief, finally, for up to a week at a time with 6% hydrogen peroxide straight up there. I know a lot of places say only use 3% but it's not enough to cut the BS.
6% is good. Burns skin a Lil bit but a Lil water and the burning goes away. I do not feel a burn inside though.
Found out about mycoplasma? or whatever and tried to get tested for that but no one tests for it around me unless I wanna shell out a lot of money..
Ugh. So again with the tears and frustrations....
I went on another google search for hours and stumbled across this... and saying whytf not....

I have been drinking 9.5 ph water for about 2 to 3 months now. I do still get paranoid and clean myself out with 6% after s3x but the pH water keeps it amazing! I check and check and nothing is gross! My normal consistency is back!!!!!!
My period does still throw me off but not as bad or as harsh and a quick 6% clean out works wonders. And I'm back to normal.
Next test will be no 6% after s3x to see just what happens.

This alkaline water is amazing. I'm guessing by changing my pH of my gut, urine etc that it helped. This is amazing and a game changer.
Now if only my microbiome can handle regular spring water eventually because alk water is expensive and sometimes hard to find. Sheesh.

Try it. You won't be disappointed if you give it sometime to work it's magic.

I have had BV since December & it is honestly the worst thing. I was put on both the oral and vaginal medication & neither worked. I tried folic acid w/ b12, acidophilus, inserting vitamin c, taking multivitamins... I'm 18 about to start college and none of my friends are concerned about infections or anything. I was so FRUSTRATED. Thank God I found this website because I was getting so depressed over this. Eventually I read about douching with hydrogen peroxide. I was terrified to try it so I never did. I continued looking for other remedies that don't involve inserting anything into the vagina and that's when I found out about alkalizing.

I drink lemon water everyday. I squeeze 2 fresh lemons into water and add a little sugar (when I drink it raw my stomach hurts, the sugar helps ALOT) and it just tastes like lemonade! I have done this for almost 3 months and I am discharge and smell free!

I would really try this before doing the hydrogen peroxide because the lemon water balances out your pH. You have to work on your whole body to find healing in your lady parts. I know it's a frustrating process but thanks to this website I'm able to find relief and I am no longer depressed and I can have sex with my boyfriend once again. I would also recommend not using any scented feminine soap for your vagina. WATER IS ENOUGH!!! I know that's hard especially because bv gives you an odor but your vagina is meant to clean itself. Good luck ladies! I truly feel your pain.

Thanks for this. I am wondering if I am in the minority as someone who has few to no symptoms, but still has persistent infection. I am hoping the lemon water will help. I am pretty upset that I was told 3 YEARS ago by my doctor not to treat this after it was found during a routine pap. I had zero symptoms except a few days (an this was WEEKS before my pap) that I had a heavier watery discharge with a bit of a smell, but this quickly went away on its own and did not return. I continued to have no symptoms after my diagnosis, so I figured it had cleared itself as the doctor said it would. I just recently went in for a pap and was told I still have it, after all this time! So now I know I must do something. After seeing all the stuff about how antibiotics are only a very temporary cure, I am very hesitant to pick up my prescription as I don't want it to come back worse, WITH symptoms next time. I just want to be rid of this, but it's hard to even know if and when that will happen since I don't experience symptoms, it's just ... there. The only thing I have ever noticed in recent months was an occasional "off" smelling discharge or a very faint odor after sex, and even then it was usually a very slight odor, nothing major at all. Most days everything smells perfectly healthy, with absolutely no itch or unusual discharge, so I am alarmed to find out it is actually not healthy, and has not been for so long. It's a very distressing experience, and I'm sad to hear there is no cure, just management. I wish I knew what had caused this - I was celibate at the time of my first diagnosis and do not douche or have a poor diet.

Do you mix the lemon juice and apple cider vinegar together and spray it right on the area and dry it afterwards? Is this something you do every single day several times a day? Has the itchiness completely gone away? Can you use white vinegar instead? Thanks for the information on this!! I am done using antibiotics, I was on 3 different ones and nothing worked. I started changing my diet, no sugar, and taking baths with 3% peroxide, and baking soda, this has really helped!! I'm also looking into doing this remedy with the ACV and lemon juice.. thanks again!! God Bless!!

I was in the worst BV flare up in recent years and searched for an alternative to antibiotics, when I came across this information. After only 24 hours of drinking alkaline water (about 6 liters) I've felt a marked improvement! I'm not only amazed, but so relieved! My daughter suffers from BV as well, and is now drinking alkaline water. Thank you for the info! :)

I found alkaline supplements (capsules) at the local health food store, thinking that would be a better option for me than buying alkaline water. However, I got terrible headaches when I'd take them. I don't know why, or if it was that particular brand, but I stopped taking them. I think like most things, it's trial and error. Good luck!

I have suffered with bv for years. I have tried vh essentials, metronidazole, probiotics and peroxide all of which helped but it always came back. I stumbled upon what is called baking soda therapy

Baking soda is a natural chemical compound that restores health, cleanses the body and eradicates toxic substances and effective at restoring pH balance in the body without harsh chemicals or toxins

I eat healthy, and run 3-4 times a week however I drink 3 to 4 cups of coffee with a teaspoon of sugar in each cup a day. I realized that this might be the culprit but I LOVE COFFEE and SUGAR!

I started doing the Baking Soda Therapy and within days, the bv started clearing up and it has stayed that way for several months. Every morning I mix a teaspoon of baking soda into about 12 ounces of water (a tall cup) and drink. The only draw back is the taste, it is like drinking a tall cup of salt water however, the benefits are amazing! It has worked wonders for me. Give yourself at least half hour before or after a meal as to not mess with your digestive process. Maybe start with half a teaspoon and gradually increase as your body gets use to it.

I did not have to combine this with any other methods; however if it doesn't do the trick for you, perhaps combine it with probiotics and vh essentials. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I'm glad you've had such a great experience with the baking soda. I will try it this way, I tried using baking soda twice before and I didn't use any measurements. I'm sure it was way too much baking soda and not enough of water. But the first day I didn't see any difference. I did it a second day in a row; wowww! It worked as a laxative for me!! When I found that baking soda could remove toxins from the body I really went over board but I will definitely give it another shot with your measurements. Thank you!

Changing my diet to consist of mostly alkaline foods has cured my 4 year battle with BV. It is impossible for bacteria and viruses to survive in an alkalized environment. It is also important for your partner to consume more alkalizing foods.

I found my cure for recurring BV!!!!!! I'm sure we all know that bv means our ph balance is more acidic. I read a posting and this person mentioned our bodies need to be on an alkaline diet. Well I went to a health food store and bought a gallon of alkaline water and within two days my symptoms cleared and its now been a month and my symptoms are completely gone!!! Drink alkaline water.

From everything I am reading, BV means your ph balance is too alkaline though for every 3-4 sites of BV being from high pH (Alkaline), there is 1 site that says BV is cause by low pH (Acid). Confusing if you ask me.

Hi, I want to share my amazing story. I was battling recurring BV for a little over 4 years. Antibiotics didn't work. Also, I was diagnosed with gastritis. I had really bad stomach pains especially after eating certain foods. I noticed after having my stomach pains, BV would flare up. I had a feeling that food was related to BV.

I read a post on this site about a woman who suggested we follow an Alkaline diet. I sought information from my Aunt who was recently reading an alkaline diet book. Well the book listed all the foods that makes our body acidic causing our PH to be imbalanced. Coffee, Sodas, processed foods, sugars, red meat... Etc. Well I gave up most processed foods, coffee, and soda. Sugars I still eat but in moderation.

BUT WHAT REALLY HELPED, was ALKALINE WATER. I found some at my local health food store and within two days the dishcharge was barely noticable. Within a week it was gone! The smell and dishcharge disappeared! I've been drinking the water for a little over two weeks and no symptoms. I continue taking probiotics, vitamins, and acidopholus pills. I don't feel ashamed anymore. I can't wait to see my OBGYN and give him a piece of my mind.

Hi ladies. I've suffered from bv for about 5 years now and I've tried all the treatments suggested on this site, but nothing was a permanent cure. After I realized that I needed to get my pH under control, I found this water. It's formulated to balance your body's natural pH, and all you literally do is drink it! I've been drinking it for a week and since then, I haven't discharged and the smell is virtually gone!!! I've tried taking Metro gel, pills, peroxide, garlic, etc. And I was sick of putting my body through all of that. Ph Water is found at TJMaxx/Marshall's and Publix for $1.49 for a liter or $1.79 for 1.5 liters. I drink one a day, and hopefully my body will regulate itself. I hope this will help some of those out there with chronic and consistant bv.

I was researching bacterial vaginosis to help my daughter. Whatever method you use to clear up the problem, it will return if you don't get your whole body into a slightly alkaline state. That means no colas, no sugar, plenty of alkaline water (not bottled water from the store) lots of fresh veggies and fruits. You have to take care of the whole person and not just the symptoms.

I SUFFERED! From BV symptoms for years!!!! - Super smelly white discharge, itchy-nes, dryness... It was never ending. Several doctors gave me several different answers to what it was. I've heard BV, Vaginosis, Trich, stress induced infection, etc. Well, I tried all of the remedies. Antibiotics, yogurt dipped tampons, acidophilus, douching, etc. The most effective was the acidophilus. But even that didn't work everyday. While reading these posts, I ran acriss a woman who said she changed her diet, started exercising and started drinking teas. I thought "That is way too much" but I found that she was almost spot on.

On my last trip to the doctor (after taking acidophilus for a while), tests revealed that I didnt have BV. But the symptoms remained so I was stumped. After more research on the internet, I stumbled across info on balancing the pH balance of acid and alkaline in the body. Too much acid in the body is a disease state called "Acidosis". Acidosis creates a lot of problems in the body including weak immune system, excess mucus, cold hands and feet, irritability and FUNGAL INFECTIONS. This (so far) has turned out to be the culprit! This also explains why some women find apple cider vinegar douches to be a cure... because ACV is highly alkaline, and reduces acid. So, I made a few tweaks in my diet. Water, OJ and an occasional coffee were my only beverages. So I have completely replaced the extremely acidic OJ with green juice.

You can determine if this might be your problem by taking a litmus test. Health food stores or vitamin shops have litmus strips. Put your saliva on it and it displays your body's pH balance. I took one a few days after discovering this info on Acidosis and found that I had the 2nd highest acidity level! Since changing to an alkaline diet all the symptoms have disappeared except 1. The discharge is still present but not as much and its odorless! I don't even have to wear panty liners everyday nor change them twice a day. Eating salad or drinking green juice is a small price to pay for eliminating this horrible condition!!

I suffered from BV for many, many years. Remedies, I tried them all. The only thing that has really worked for me (long term) is getting my ph in the right zone. I know it almost sounds too simple, but I can tell right away when I've missed a few doses of my Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda combo, because the smell comes back. I don't drink an alkalizing drink every day (I try to take a day or two off each week). But, if I go longer than the small break of a few days, the smell and discharge come back slowly. Not saying it will work for every woman, but you might want to give it a try. I don't think healthy flora can exist in an acid environment.

A healthy vaginal environment has a pH of 3.8-4.5, which IS a highly acidic environment. So yes, healthy flora does exist in an acidic environment, in fact, it's the preferred vaginal environment. When BV is present the pH rises above 4.5, easily into the 5-7 range, which is highly alkaline.

Not only does it get rid of the BV, I have also found that it works well with balder infections. Pray this helps someone as it did me.

Hi!

I was recently diagnosed with BV & cervical polyps and legions on my cervix these are slow growing and can lead to cancer if you're not careful. As a side effect I began getting BV from the ph balance distress the lesions were causing. Then I got Trichomonas vaginalis from a sexual partner. My doctor said I had HSIL and a cone biopsy is my only option. I was able to heal my cervix and BV using home made vaginal suppositories made from pure Aloe Vera jelly. I want to have more children so I chose to try diet change, quitting smoking, juicing, herbal tonics & cleansing while I thought about surgery. I've had reoccurring bv for so many years, I really wanted to get rid of it. Well to ease my cervical lesions which were always spotting, I decided to try Aloe plant. I purchased the aloe plant stalks in the produce section of the market. To my surprise the bv was also cured after 3 days & my cervix feel less inflamed and no longer spotting. It feels so amazing! The odor stopped the second day of treatment.

Here's the remedy:

1. Brand new flexible ice tray (iKea has small rectangular ones that work great) - sterilize tray by boiling first

2. Use a small pearing knife to scrape the clear jelly from inside the aloe Vera stalk

3. Blend the jelly (only clear jelly) in a blender until the slippery mixture is fine and has no lumps . (Make sure you do not leave behind any of the green outside parts, as these can cause irritation to the outside areas of the vagina.

4. Pour mixture of pure blended aloe jelly into the ice tray and cover with parchment paper then seal in plasting zip loc. Freeze mixture.

5. Break frozen rectangles into half size manageable pieces. Insert small about (.5ml) frozen pieces into vagina at bed time and wear a thin pad.

6. use suppositories for 5-8 nights, preferably right after your menstrual cycle ends towards your next ovulation.

7. There can be slight irritation to the vulva & outside areas as the jelly first flushes out. This only last for a few minute when the suppository is first melting . That's why its good to be sleeping and lying down to skip this part ;)! Wipe clean and change pad for comfort.

8. Fishy odor caused by BV bacteria and Unbalanced PH will fade starting the second day. Enjoy! I'll be continuing to shrink down and soothe my cervix too!

Good luck!

I just wanted to add in regard to BV, I had it a couple of years ago and it was recurrent no matter what my Dr. gave me. Finally, I ask a friend of mines who is well versed with natural cures what I should do and she simply said, "2tbsp of natural aloe vera to 8oz of unsweetened cranberry juice. Not only does it get rid of the BV, I have also found that it works well with balder infections. Pray this helps someone as it did me.

I contracted BV after having my fallopian tubes removed and from then on having unprotected sex with my husband. This subtle shift changed the terrain and pH. I tried hydrogen peroxide tampons and probiotics for weeks to no avail. Within 24 hours of a wash/douche of ACV and water, the tides turned and the discharge is minimal and odorless. I used only 1/2 t. to 1 C water (yikes to the ladies using it straight!!) and this was enough to reboot my pH and system. Just that, nothing else. Truly fabulous.
