Boric Acid Cure for Bacterial Vaginosis

It has now been a year since my first post and I have been BV free this entire time! I wanted to check back in and lay out as clearly as possible what has worked for me.

This is what I recommend to those of you struggling with this hideous condition..

Preparation:

  • 1. Order 100% boric acid or medical grade boric acid (it's the same thing but called different things in different places) AND 00 Veg capsules. In Australia, simply order both of these on Ebay. I believe in the US, you can ask your pharmacy to order them for you or try Amazon.
  • 2. With clean hands, simply fill the larger side of the capsule with the boric acid and then use the smaller side as the lid. Make up as many as you like - they last for months and months. Store them in a glass jar in your pantry and keep capsules and all ingredients out of reach of the little ones.
  • 3. Buy pads - do NOT wear tampons during this treatment.

The Regimen

  • Start your treatment on your next period.
  • On the first night of your period, (and with clean hands) insert 2 capsules just before you go to bed.
  • For the next 5 nights, insert one capsule just before you go to bed.
  • Do this treatment for the next 3 periods (4 periods in total).
  • You may notice increased wetness as the capsules make their way out - completely normal. You may even find bits of the capsule - also normal.

Ongoing treatment:

  • After completing your 4 month treatment, you can cut back to inserting one capsule, usually on the last night of your period. As before, wear a pad that night and during the next day, but tampons on the other days should be fine. I believe wearing tampons overnight is not a good idea, but up to you.
  • Supplements and diet are completely up to you - I don't know what exacerbates BV, but it can't hurt to eat healthier.

Tips:

  • Always insert the capsule just before you go to bed. You want it to stay in for as long as possible.
  • Just before inserting the capsule, I like to hold the capsule under running water for about 20 seconds to soften the 'skin'.
  • Insert the capsule as far as you can. I don't think applicators are necessary, it's a personal preference.

Best of luck to you!

I would like to share a remedy for bacterial vaginosis. First of all, I have found it to be correlated with Candida, so reducing sugar in the diet and using candida supplements have really helped prevent recurrences. But for treatment and remedy, the very best thing I have found is boric acid. The best way I've found to apply it is to get an empty gelcap and fill it with boric acid and use like a vaginal suppository. For me this usually eliminates any symptoms within a few hours. The only caution I would give is to make sure to carefully label both the original bottle and any prepared capsules as poison for safety because it is a toxic substance if eaten. I also would recommend keeping it out of the reach of any small children.

Best wishes to others and I hope this is helpful!

Cured! After one year of suffering bv and a countless number of trips to the doctor. Prescription after prescription of antibiotics that only worked while I was taking them. The bv would return two days after stopping the course. I was prescribed boric acid 1 * 600mg capsule inserted at night for two weeks. To be honest I was a little unsure about using it but I would have tried just about anything to get rid of bv. I also inserted a vaginal health probiotic morning and night. I ingested two probiotics at breakfast. One for vaginal health the other an immune booster. I also started taking a multivitamin that helps to support a healthy female reproductive system. I made sure to eat well to support my immune system.

After two days of boric acid the symptoms were gone. After two weeks I finished the course and continued with the probiotics regime for a further two weeks. I'm just over one month free of bv. If you're reading this and suffering from bv I know your pain and I urge you to try this. You won't regret it. X

I have had BV for at least 6 months, and have used a prescription treatment recommended by two doctors. My symptoms remained the same, a reddish brown discharge on some days and others a paler color. It occurred to me two days ago that I used Boric Acid for infection years ago, so I melted a large jar of glycerin suppositories and added 1 bottle Boric Acid. I froze this concoction, then formed back into suppositories that I insert at bedtime. The first night a large amount of reddish-brown discharge was expelled during sleep. The second night, nothing. All day today, nothing. I think the infection was expelled the first night. I should have never left my hippie roots....

This stuff works! I have been suffering with BV for the past 4 years. It started when I took antibiotics after a staff infection. I also had been using Summers's Eve Douche "really bad idea" I went to the Obgyn so many times and they gave me MetroGel and another medication, I forget the names. Either way they only worked till I started my cycle again or had sex and usually it came back even stronger. I tried every home remedy in the book nothing helped. I did have some success with hydrogen peroxide douches but it never really lasted to long. Then I found out about Boric acid and it changed everything for me. At first it really was not working so well but I think that because I was not doing a full treatment. I would do 3 days on and then take a break. Then as soon as I had sex or had my cycle the BV came back. So I took a break from sex for 10 days and put one capsule in every night at bed time. I also started taking probiotic and folic acid every day. After that I have had little to no issues. I still get a little stinky down there before my cycle and after so I usually use for one or two days after its over. Also sometimes after sex. My boyfriend is not circumcised so that can mess up my system sometimes. But all in all I don't have many issues. I really recommend this to anyone suffering from BV.

4 years later, still BV-free! BA kicks BV butt!! Bought powder, put it in capsules. Inserted 2 capsules for 2 nights. No stinging. No mess. No side effects experienced. Tried many home remedies, and a few prescriptions, but it would reappear. BA wiped it out!

Any assistance is greatly appreciated! I purchased 600mg boric acid depositories from Amazon with hopes to insert 1 every night for 2 weeks. The first two nights I inserted 1 at bedtime and woke up feeling great. After day 3 I woke up in the morning and noticed that I had a small amount of blood that didn't look like period blood, and a burning sensation.

I am on birth control and am supposed to get my period tomorrow. I have (2) questions:

Did the boric acid suppositories cause bleeding/burning for anyone else?

Should I continue through my period? I was planning to insert 1 nightly for 2 weeks.

other supplements I am taking orally:

  • apple cider vinegar
  • Vitamin D3
  • L Reuteri 7 billion CFU twice daily

I have also completely cut out caffeine, alcohol, and am on an alkaline diet

Any insight is much appreciated! Specially on the bleeding and if I should continue with the boric acid— or try every other night instead?

I was prescribed boric acid every night before I sleep for 7 days and then whenever I feel symptoms after that. I have continuously been inserting every 3-4 days (twice a week) and I have been symptom free for 3 months now. Remember to wear a panty liner because you get a lot of watery discharge, which is all the bad stuff coming out along with the Boric Acid. You will also get some odorless discharge the following day, just wipe.

(I have had BV/Yeast for 2 years and I am so happy I found a cure that actually, without a doubt, works! )

BORIC ACID IS THE ANSWER.

I went to so many doctors for about 2 years, trying out different home remedies and also trying antibiotics. I believe I was diagnosed incorrectly at first as UTI, and got prescribed antibiotics. I was later then told the those meds make you prone to BV and Yeast.. Then begins my horrible nightmare for two years.

I had it recurring every month before my period; one week of yeast, next week BV, then my period with BV. At this point, I would have gone to my doctor and got antibiotics, so I would have one week that is good and then the cycle starts again. I thought it was the birth control I was taking so I switched, I eventually got my IUD done and the doctor advised me it is not good to take antibiotics to cure it. Advised to try some remedies she recommended, it did not work.

Anyways, I finally saw a doctor recently and she prescribed me BORIC ACID. I looked into it and kind of freaked me out because I read it is poisonous, and also used to kill mouse sometimes. But I also read it CURES, as what I call it, THE BROKEN VAGINA. LADIES, get Boric Acid prescribed or buy it online and pack it yourself (size 0 capsules). I used it everyday for 7 days initially and now I insert it twice a week (every 3-4 days) before I sleep. I have been good for about a month and a half, no symptoms at all. I also started taking women's probiotics 3 times a day, not sure if it has helped but I am afraid to stop taking it.

BORIC ACID. BORIC ACID. BORIC ACID. BORIC ACID. BORIC ACID!!! :)

I was getting BV every time I had sex, well still do. I was running to the doctor or pharmacy often. I searched the internet for cures and found boric acid. It has been my life saver. I tried everything you can imagine and this works 100%. I still get BV when I haven't had sex for a while, it takes my body some time to get used to it. But it is cheap and the only thing I have found that works. I recommend it to everyone!

I have been reading alot about the use of Boric acid suppositories for chronic BV, and would like to try it, but I am concerned about my partners' health. No one mentions if boric acid is safe for my boyfriend, either when we have oral or vaginal sex. Do I douche first? Or is oral sex out? Does he have to wear a condom. Any information much appreciated!
