Arginine and almonds will make my herpes break out. Arginine was promoted for adding strength and muscle size while working out, gets a big promo from the body building world and it works BUT IF YOU HAVE HERPES IT'S LIKE PUTTING GAS ON A FIRE. If you just have to have arginine, take Lysine. Lysine is good for putting a dampener on viruses like herpes etc.

Uh yea, Hulda Clark would have us all living in pressurized, sterilized, hermetically sealed space bubbles. I read Cure for All Diseases. At first I was enthused and it sounded kind of right. But the further along I read the more I realized Dr. Clark had developed some kind of obsessive/compulsive disorder bordering on total paranoia. What kind of life would one live if they followed all of Clark's directives? There is such a thing as too clean. We do have immune systems. I love cats.

I get dmso at the farm store, too. If it's good enough for million dollar horses, it's good enough for me. It has to say not for human use or it would be regulated and you wouldn't be able to get it. Your lightbulbs probably say don't eat them, too. It's all government regulations gone amuck.

I have also got dmso from the farm store. I assume used on horses. It was in the animal section of course. The thing that worries me is all the warnings on this bottle. It pretty much says not for human consumption. So are they selling the wrong grade to the feed stores to treat arthritis in horses???? Those of you who got it from the farm store do you feel safe using this in spite of these warnings?? I once bought dmso from a company and loved it. Great for burns, but I saw no warnings on the bottle. Any thoughts so much appreciated. My bottle came from Tulsa, Ok. if that helps.

Trigger Thumb

I just recently purchased some DMSO at the Tractor Supply store near me for a trigger thumb issue I'm having. I was nervous too, there are a lot of scary warnings out there! I just made sure I washed my hand with as hot of water as I could handle (and soap), patted dry and applied with a cotton ball.

I believe it's helping! So for your foot, soak and wash really thoroughly, let it sink in and dry on your skin for 15-20 minutes and then rinse off keeping in mind that if you use soap to wash it off, it could possibly take the soap through your skin...? I'm not sure if that's over-cautious, but better safe than sorry! Then use a white sock to be safe, I've read it can take clothing dyes right through the skin as well...

But I have been rinsing and putting my hand into a black thumb brace to keep it from bending and have had no issues...Good Luck!

Sore Throat

The DMSO fixed my sore throat before it spread to full blown, on both sides. It also, apparently, eliminated some swelling in my neck that I hadn't realized WAS swelling. Not sure what that's about.

Haven't used the ear drops yet but put some of the DMSO aloe on a q-tip and ran that around in both ears, which are now popping - both on their own and when I swallow. So that' at approximately 5 minutes. Interesting.

Sore Throat
Posted by Cindy (Illinois, Usa) on 07/06/2016 432 posts

I just read that in a DMSO book. It's 1 teaspoon in a couple ounces of water or juice. Once or twice per day - once per day for regular use and twice for problems and then after it's done its thing you cut back to once again.

I just made a tiny batch of DMSO lotion (50% DMSO and 50% aloe) and put it on one side of my neck to see what a topical application would do to a sore throat.

I definitely taste it AND my ear popped open - which is where my sore throat originated. I can feel it in my throat too - like it's sort of "diffusing" the soreness. Still hurts when I swallow but it's only been about 10 minutes.

I was actually looking for info on using it topically, for my daughter's boyfriend who has shoulder stuff from old sports injuries. Apparently you can use it topically even for internal issues, which makes sense but surprised me.

I'm getting ready to make some ear drops (50% DMSO and 50% distilled water). I didn't even know my ear was plugged up until it popped open! COOL!

I was thinking about using DMSO for the same condition but am hesitant because it's your feet and you step on all kinds of dirt. Even if you put a sock on, I'm not sure if it's safe because of germs getting in there.

It is called "solvation." It is not, strictly speaking, a chemical reaction, as the molecules themselves are not altered--only their nearest-neighbor relationships change. The DMSO molecules like to be in contact with water molecules -- the total energy is lower, therefore potential energy is released as heat. The same thing happens when you mix salt with water, though the effect is too small to notice.

Dear Stephen,

I have some DMSO gel. I mixed it with colloidal silver and put it into a glass bottle that had a glass eyedropper to it. This made it easy to get it out by the drop as needed. It helps to avoid the plastic issue. (Though my DMSO did come in a plastic container! )

I could have mixed it with distilled water, but was wanting to use it to deliver colloidal silver deeper into the body. The gel would have to be mixed with something I think, to be able to get it thin enough to come out of the eye dropper.

The only person who ever complained was my girlfriend who cannot stand it. No one else seemed bothered. I used it for my painful bladder which was so bad I could not even drive my car over the bumps in the road. I read that doctors were using it for this and it helped with the pain greatly. I am finally cured all these many years later from this. I meditate and sought the reason for the bladder and was finally healed. I still use DSMO for Lyme disease arthritis I acquired many years ago while hiking and being bit by tick. I had the Bull's eye and the whole thing before anyone knew what it was. I am still stuck with the arthritis mostly in my neck and back, chest. Now I am thinking about using DMSO for an ear infection as a last ditch effort. I have been taking antibiotic ear drops for ear for the past ten years at 200 dollars per month. Insurance pays but will no longer do so. Ear comes and goes and was really bad with the start of winter. I got this infection from someone who gave me a massage and breathed into my mouth. This infection started in my lungs and moved to my ears. The ear drops contained antibiotics with cortisone. I just bought over the counter cortisone and am using it. I do not have a fever. My neck is now involved and my left tonsil/throat. I just saw an allergist who did not know about this ear. I saw the dead of Cedar's Sinai who did not know about it either and another doctor on Santa Monica Blvd. Does anyone now if DMSO will work? I bet it will at least get rid of the pain.

DMSO Activates Old Antibiotics

HI U OLE PATOOTS DOIN, , , , , , yep , I'm back on the beach getting my dose of Vitamin D from the sun , Magnesium from the gulf , negative ions from the waves to neutralize my free radicals. All compliments of our Lord.

I am also rereading my book on DMSO and retention is only about 20% when you read. Well, I missed this point on the first go round, but it really hit home on my second reading.

All know that bacteria and virus, etc. mutate and become immune to antibiotics. Ain't that right? Listen up, because this is the good news. Studies show that when you use DMSO with old antibiotics they become effective again. Is that great or what? The problem is that the patents have also run out and the old antibiotics are now dirt cheap..... so there is no incentive to re-engerize them. We must have new suff that is patentable so we can all go to the pore house.

All is not lost because what I am 'ciphering from this is that anything you use to address an infection or such will be enhanced by toping it off with DMSO. I don't think that statement is a stretch, but you the doctor and you make the call.

Me, I do DMSO to take things into my body and fixing to use it with my nebulizer for things that I do through my lungs. Maybe I'll become as famous as our idol, Bill Munro. If I keep posting then it worked. If not, then it did not work.

Tired of fresh shrimp and seafood gumbo so I'm grilling steaks tonight. Eat your heart out.

I have successfully used DMSO for two severe skin growths--one was more than 7 years old--ugly right under my right eye. Gone is just 3 days--but about 50 consecutive treatments in that short time-that also included pricking the sore to initiate bleeding and then alternating hydrogen peroxide with DMSO and then alternating iodine with DMSO.

The sore was really ugly and growing daily. It was ugly on the exterior and went deep beyond the surface of the skin.

Dear Glo,

I have 99.9% DMSO that I got at the farm store. I just dilute it for topical use. I believe that it is not recommended to use more than 70% DMSO topically. So, you could dilute 2/3 DMSO with 1/3 distilled water to get about 66%, which is close enough, I think. I have also diluted it half and half with castor oil, Colloidal Silver, Aloe Gel, and Mullein Root tincture, depending on what I am treating.

I have found it helpful and hope you do, too!

Hi Dee...I think that it is perhaps a little misleading to say that DMSO will carry 'anything' through the skin.

Here is comment from Dr Stanley Jacob who has been researching with DMSO since the 1960s. He is the guru on DMSO use:

"Rumors of DMSO's ability to transport chemicals through the skin have been greatly exaggerated. DMSO will carry a minimal amount of other chemicals with a molecular weight of less than 1000 but will not carry bacteria or viruses."

Be very careful with DMSO. It's a great product but remember it will carry anything it's connected to through the skin - bacteria, viruses, dirt. So while its anti-inflammatory properties are great and you hook it up with the Ellawood to get it in, it can also take anything else so you have to have a scrupulous technique and make sure your hands are clean. Make sure you got medical grade DMSO for that matter.

WARNING!

DO NOT DO WHAT NICK SUGGESTED. First of all, taking your blood pressure medication with DMSO will cause the amount consumed to rapidly filter into your bloodstream, which may cause a precipitous drop in your blood pressure. Second of all, blood pressure medications are designed to reach a certain concentration in your blood for a given amount of time; even though it will be more rapidly absorbed, the final concentration, if you use 1/10th of a pill, will be 1/10th of normal. This is a bad idea all around.

DMSO Combinations

The warm feeling is actually a reaction with the water in your skin, not an increase in porosity. DMSO doesn't increase porosity or permeability; it simply dissolves a variety of compounds and is able to transport them quickly through your skin. It's nothing to worry about but it's the exact same thing you noticed when diluting it with water to a much lesser scale.

Leo,

Tested 1.0 ounce Papain dissolved into 4 ounce of DMSO gel (90%) applied topically over the spine.

Papain mix applies very sticky; must let it dry before you put on shirt, or it will glue together.

More over, the mix liquifies to a amber goo after two days. I will dispose the prepared mix, and just make 'just enough' mix for daily use. It smells bad when the mix ages.

I may recommend using a salt shaker and apply papain powder directly to DMSO applied to spinal axis.

Results after three days is still unknown. No issues, positive or negative; none is expected until about two weeks daily application.

DMSO is known to potentate other substances, such as drugs. The Blood pressure drugs will be much more effective in getting into the cells, and work better. I read a person could use up to 10 times less medication and get the same results. Make sure you don't take the BP meds at the same time you apply the DMSO. Make sure they are separated by 4 or more hours.

Blood Pressure drugs and DMSO should never be mixed together or taken with each other. The pressure will fall too low.

If you are brave enough, you could take 1/10th BP drug and DMSO and monitor BP to see what the effects are. You might even be able to stop taking the BP drugs all together with time and experience. Just be careful.

Bill, Very good post about Vitamin C not being ascorbic acid. I take a Vitamin C with Rose Hips. I look at the rose hips as being the most important part. I have tended to take Vitamin C for granted without thinking about it. It is a reminder to be more discriminating when buying Vitamin C in supplement form. I know you get your nutrients from whole foods so less likely to be a problem. For people who buy supplement, this is important to know

http://www.thedoctorwithin.com/vitaminc/ascorbic-acid-is-not-vitamin-c/

"OK, natural vs. synthetic. Let's start with Vitamin C. Most sources equate vitamin C with ascorbic acid, as though they were the same thing. They're not. Ascorbic acid is an isolate, a fraction, a distillate of naturally occurring vitamin C. In addition to ascorbic acid, vitamin C must include rutin, bioflavonoids, Factor K, Factor J, Factor P, Tyrosinase, Ascorbinogen, and other components as shown in the figure below:

A s c o r b I c A c I d

ascorbinogen
bioflavonoids
rutin

tyrosinase

Factor J
Factor K
Factor P

A s c o r b I c A c id

V I T A M I N C

In addition, mineral co-factors must be available in proper amounts.

If any of these parts are missing, there is no vitamin C, no vitamin activity. When some of them are present, the body will draw on its own stores to make up the differences, so that the whole vitamin may be present. Only then will vitamin activity take place, provided that all other conditions and co-factors are present."

To drive home the point even further

"Ascorbic acid simply cannot confer vitamin activity, as taught by the discoverer of vitamin C himself, another Nobel Prize laureate, Dr. Albert Szent-Georgi.

Szent-Georgi discovered vitamin C in 1937. In all his research however, Szent-Georgi found that he could never cure scurvy with the isolated ascorbic acid itself. Realizing that he could always cure scurvy with the "impure" vitamin C found in simple foods"

So one should focus on Vitamin C COMPLEX as opposed to Vitamin C

I found a sustained release brand which contains

Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) 1000 mg 1,667%

Bioflavonoids (from Citrus limon exocarp) (supplying active flavonones, 24% [120 mg] and active flavonols and flavones, 20% [100 mg]) 500 mg

Rutin (from Sophora japonica leaf) 100 mg

Hesperidin (from Citrus limon exocarp) 100 mg

Rose Hips (Rosa canina fruit) 100 mg

Acerola (Malpighia glabra fruit) 50 mg

I'm always surprised about people who overdo or overdose or overtake things, substances be it good or bad! Do you really have to take so many things. All natural doesn't mean all good or safe. DMSO can be dangerous if you don't study about it. It brings everything that touches into your blood stream. Many years ago an Irish woman who used DMSO died but also she was under other medication, because of this DMSO got a bad name in US. It's written cause unknown. I guess she was taking other medications and may be DMSO triggered and brought into her system more than she was supposed to. Please read carefully what you must be careful when you use DMSO. NOT only DMSO though, better not to take too many kinds of things other than health food and drinks. More doesn't mean better often less is better heal slowly. Your filtering system can only take that much to detox and throw out of your body, if you do too much in a short period of time, your liver, kidneys, colon and bladder can't throw out toxins as fast as you detox your system. You MUST give your filtering system time to work accordingly. You are abusing your organs by taking too many things which you believe that they are good for health. Being Extreme is a DANGEROUS ATTITUDE. Balance your mind first then think of physical health.

DMSO and Lugol's Iodine: yea- I think.

After a detoxing bath filled with epsom salts and borax, I mixed some DSMO cream I had with iodine and applied it to my lower back, and then kind of smeared more iodine on my chest. It couldn't had been more than 3 droppers full of 2% lugols and within about 5 minutes I became aware of a slight pain which I realized was my thyroid. It kind of scared me, it didnt really hurt, it was just that I was very aware of it, and had never felt it before. Anyone else experience something like this? I know DSMO acts as a carrier and allows things to be absorbed, the whole blood brain barrier thing..?

I got the gel 70% mixed with aloe vera. I've been putting it on for 2 days and I cannot believe the difference! I am thrilled! The only thing that bothers me is that when I put it on my heel, I have a tightness in my chest that I don't normally have. I take thyroid meds and am wondering if it is increasing the absorption. I also take several BP meds and I don't think it's bothered those. Has anyone else felt it has affected them in this way? And, should I dilute it with distilled water or what. I think this is really really effective and would like to continue using it but don't want to mess myself up.
