Hi, there is a cure for restless leg syndrome, and it comes in the form of BLACK STRAP MOLASSES. While using BSM for I discovered that my restless leg syndrome stopped completely, as long as I use it daily. I have suffered for years with this condition, family members, my dad , brother and aunt have it so hereditary I am sure and from what I read there are plently of pills doctors will prescribe for you, but for me natural is the only way to go. I take 1 tablespoon a day of BSM, I use it to manage my female issues and PMS, and heavy bleeding, that now is cut in half, and the happy side affect to that regimine was the cure for my restless leg syndrome, which caused so much pain, and movement just to fall asleep. I have to say that this website has given me my life back in a way that is a miracle. No pills for me if I can ever help it. I look up a syndrome, or condition and more then likely I find it here and I try it and or apply it to my own life and see how it goes. So far so good. I believe that we know ourselves better then any doctor ever could. This website could be the very thing that saves your life. I mean more and more on tv to radio I see and hear more and more about restless leg syndrome and companies promoting more and more medicines for the syndrome so they can make money, if they did research like I did online they would see the cure right in front of them, it comes up in my search right away. Simple and inexspensive and it doesn't hurt the body in other ways. I get frustrated just seeing commercials trying to get people to take there drugs. Anyhow, BSM 1 tablespoon a day has cured my RLS and I am forever grateful. I do my best to promote this site to friends and family and I know they get tired of listening to me sometimes, but thats OK! The truth here for me is a miracle so passing it along is just what we're supposed to do. In the right kind of world. Thanks a million to all have written here.

I have been anemic all my life. When I decided to change my eating habits and study herbalism, I came across a book that talked about how black strap molasses could shrink tumors and how high it was in iron. I use to have the ice cravings but no more. For the first time in my life I am not anemic. My mother was very surprised and has started using the product for herself. It works! I am living proof; if you're anemic, take 1 tablespoon each morning in a half cup of warm water and it will do the trick! Nature is a wonderful thing!

2 tablespoons of blackstrap molasses cured gray hair. ENERGY BOOST. It took several months, but my gray hair along my hairline has begun to turn brown! IT WORKS! It's also a great energy boost. I'm a 40 year old female who weighs 120, and I leap out of bed. No aches; no pain. I have no health complaints because I use the following on a daily basis: blackstrap molasses, apple cider vinegar, yerba mate tea, cayenne pepper, cod liver oil, and MUCH PRAYER.

I also have thalassemia. Most doctors do not know the difference between iron poor blood and thalassemia when seen microscopically. A special test for thalassemia is required. Fortunately, my general doctor sent me to a hematologist to find the cause of my anemia.

Several years later I became pregnant. I went to "the best" obgyn clinic in a nearby city. I told them about my thalassemia and they ignored me. I saw four doctors there who all prescribed iron supplements. I repeatedly told them to research thalassemia, and I even mailed them material on the subject, still they ignored me.

I refused to take the extra iron. If I had not known better, these doctors could have caused my unborn son and myself serious health health issues such as heart damage. At age three, my son was also diagnosed with anemia. His pediatrician -- "the best in town" -- insisted I put him on iron supplements, even after I told him my son might have thalassemia. I refused and insisted he prescribe a thalassemia test at the nearby hospital. The doctor reluctantly agreed. The test showed my son also has thalassemia.

Meron, I am guessing it's one of those flavors that some automatically like and others cannot stand (and all areas in between). The first time I had a tbsp. of BSM I was amazed at the flavor...and then instead of taking a tbsp. when I dosed with it I just drank it straight from the little bottle I bought; I LOVE the flavor of BSM.

Low Iron Count

When my mother suffered from low iron and had to take many iron tablets they were not much help. We were told it was not anaemia. She had to have blood transfusions. She remembered an old chemist telling her that molasses ( Blackstrap) together with half an asprin was the best heart medicine. She started taking blackstrap ( not desulphered) raw molasses. It helped her more than anything. I guess you would have to be careful if you were diabetic though. We also noticed that's for her stress levels dropped then her iron count did not go down so fast. Maybe the vitamin B12 in the molasses also has something to do with that.

I have been in severe pain with a pedunculated fibroid for 2 months. I got this post menopause. I found out if you lose alot of weight quickly this can happen. I was exhausted and having restless leg problem also. I took the molasses for one day and actually slept restfully. Woke up and first time no pain. My stomach also softened up and went down quite a bit. The taste is a bit heavy for me but I decided its worth it. I'm going to use my mini ice cube tray and see if I can freeze it and drink it in my water. Thanks to all who posted their stories. God Bless!!

"By the way, molasses is a superfood indeed. They start with a field of plants, remove the water, fiber, sugar, and what's left is concentrated organic minerals! "

Again, with all due respect, this is simply incorrect information that can be confirmed by doing a simple google search. The water, sugar, and even small amounts of fiber aren't "removed" -- molasses has a moderate sugar content and thus a glycemic index of 55, compared to say, meat, which has a glycemic index of 0.

While the sugar content is less than 'sugar', it's definitely in there.

Eczema

I have been using the BSM for about a week, and my skin has not been so clear in years. My eczema is almost gone. The taste is really hard to get past though. I found that a smoothie is the best way to mask it. My recipe is:

  • 1 large banana
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1tbsp organic coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup of coffee to dissolve BSM and Coconut Oil.
  • 1/4 cup milk, or water.
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, or vanilla extract.
  • Optional 1tsp cayenne pepper.

Blend well. You cannot even taste the Blackstrap anymore. It tastes like a banana muffin.

Better But With Side Effects

black strap molasses and excess body hair

I have been taking bsm for a few months and found it wonderful, look great (or better!) and more energy but have noticed more hair growing on legs and arms... this is quite worrying what should I do a bout it? I could try cutting it down to a trace of a tsp a day and hope that it will still have the effects or twice a week

any comments welcome

Molasses also helped my depression. 1 TB per day. I always try to "fix" my health problems with natural things. I have tried sooo many things through the years for different health concerns and most of the time I didn't notice any difference. I started the molasses and I believe I felt better the first day. I am happier, more positve, have more energy, I'm motivated to do things. I have hope once again.

I tried Blackstrap Molasses after reading about it on this site. I was so amazed that it worked so quickly. I was only taking a teaspoon once a day for a couple of days before my period started and I didn't have any cramps. And I ALWAYS get cramps. Thanks Earth Clinic and all the people who write about their experiences!

Ana: Organic Blackstrap Molasses doesn't have " few" minerals/ nutrients, but a lot. It is VERY high in Potassium in the organic BSM, to the tune of 730 mg per Tbsp. , compared to 110-210 in its non-organic competitors. See their back labels, it's right there. It is also rich in Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Copper, Selenium, Manganese, and other nutrients. Your "fav dude" you referenced is wrong on other things as well. It is a wealth. Folic Acid, another B vitamin, is great at growing new, more hair if taken for at least a few months in higher quantities.

YEA I thought it was worth mentioning that BSM has virtually eliminated my rosacea on my nose. I had a red (sometimes VERY red) nose for years now but to be honest, I'd never noticed it creeping up on me till someone asked me why my nose was always red!! I have never been so humiliated in my life but it made me very conscious of course and before trying anything natural, went through a stage of using makeup - FAIL - to try and cover redness. About 6 months ago I started using BSM morning and night and noticed my nose had returned to normal skin colour almost immediately!! It has been years since I've been this confident about not using makeup and going out, now the only time I notice it come back (only slightly) is if I drink certain wines which I believe is quite common, but it doesn't happen all the time - only with certain brands.

It never really occured to me that it was the BSM but if I run out and don't take it for a few days, it slowly creeps back but not as severe as before. I'm sure of course this is due to the high content of copper in this brand, it's also reasonably high in sulphur which is great for skin issues!

Iron Content

Molasses and iron.

Organic iron - good. Metallic iron - bad. Iron in its elemental state is what is used in most drugstore vitamins, and in most iron fortified cereals, flour etc. Read the label and it will say iron or reduced iron. Reduced means the iron filings are ground up very small. It is still like chewing on a nail, and elemental iron CAUSES pernicious anemia and a lot of other probs. It is toxic. Avoid iron fortified 'anything' like the plague.

But molasses is the right stuff. All the minerals therein have been filtered and processed through the plant and are in organic form. Just think. They get rid of the fiber, most of the water and sugar, and what is left is concentrated organic minerals. You would pay a premium price for it if it were in capsules and a fancy bottle at the health food store. But guess what! It is delicious and cheap and available most everywhere. This is the best health bargain there is.

I became very anemic last year almost to the point of having an endometrial ablation and blood transfusions! I took my health into my own hands and did lots of research. Blackstrap molasses (unsulfured) restored my iron levels and my energy! I still take it everyday!

I have diabetes and have been taking blackstrap molasses since Dec 7. It is too soon to say that it has affected by sugar levels., I think it has. What it has done is provided me with so much more energy, I am so grateful to again have energy to do things that I like and even don't like. I was so tired I didn't even wash my dishes on a daily basis, I wash them, I garden, I don't take long daytime naps. My sugar cravings have been reduced, I recommend everyone take some, even just a little a day

Blackstrap molasses isn't high in iron like red meat or iron pills. It's similar to spinach.

The difference is that BSM has fulvic and humic acids from the soil that helps plants and animals better absorb and retain minerals, like iron. Thus, this warning isn't needed.

I was low on potassium, and having heart arrhythmia because of it. 1 tbs each morning, and occasionally another tsp in the early evening keeps it away!

Supplementing my diet with molasses has decreased my acne about 97% in two weeks. I take two tablespoons when I wake up in the morning, and two before I go to bed at night. It eases digestive problems, so if your acne is related to constipation, it's a sure-fire bet. It also supplements you with minerals such as Chromium, which about 90% of Americans are deficient in.

Carpal Tunnel

My father-in-law's joint and hands were hurting so bad the doctor performed carpal tunnel surgery on one hand, but the pain and swelling was still there. For about 6-8 months he was unable to do anything, he couldn't sleep, and she helped him do everything. His joint pain was horrible. Then one night my mother-in-law was making him biscuits with molasses and when he woke up he felt completely full of energy it was amazing. He got outside and did he chores with no effort at all. She thinks it was the iron he needed in his body, but it sure did work. He is back to his normal self.

Maureen - Just to let you know, I've had success with having my gray hair turn back using blackstrap molasses, but it's how you use it that matters. When I read your email it sounded to me as though you applied it topically to wash your hair. That's not going to do it for you if you want to bring back your color. You need to be taking a tablespoon or two (it can be mixed into food or drink) a day religiously over months to get the desired effect. The hair actually will grow out of your head darker and it takes a while to notice it working because hair grows so slowly and the ends of your hair will still be gray as the BSM doesn't affect hair that's already grown out. I've been taking a spoonful in a glass of warm water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and have just started upping my consumption to two times a day. I've been doing this for about two months and have noticed a definite darkening of hair growing out and others see the difference, too. It's a work in progress, as they say, but so far so good. I've heard you need to continue for 3-6 months for optimum effect and after that I'd presume you'd need to keep up the regimen to prevent the hair going back to gray. It may be that this is only a partly successful treatment, but it's real color, not something out of a bottle. I'm also guessing that results vary from person to person. I hope this helps you get a better sense of how this works and wish you good luck should you decide to give it a try.

Hello Jules,

When I think I need Blackstrap Molasses, I take a tablespoon a day. I have to drink water immediately to wash it down! Some people warm a cup of water and dissolve the BSM in that and drink like a tea.

I just wanted to let people know that adding one tbs of BSM to warm milk makes a surprisingly yummy drink, you may just acquire a craving for. I am not a person that usually drinks milk, but this recipe is rather pleasant and it helps get the BSM down. My experience has shown this drink to do wonders for cramps associated with PMS. At the moment I am using this for a terrible inertia that I have been in for months. Hopefully this will raise my energy . Good luck to you all.
