Gray Hair

Blackstrap Molasses eliminated my gray hair. I don't remember how long it took but I know hidden sources of MSG contribute to hair turning gray so you have to eliminate those sources also.

The body stores iron. I remember reading about the toxic levels so I'm going to look for that info in my latest nutrition book and get back to you. In the meantime I think one TBSP in 8-10 oz. of warm water or milk a day would be safe. (I use 2% milk and dilute that with water in winter because dairy cows are fed more corn or fodder to produce more milk then)

Please note our entire food supply has been engineered to last longer and has been tainted with GMO's. GMO grasses and grains are being fed to the animals we eat and get milk or eggs from. "Organic" is no longer safe because it is grown in soil that contains a genetically modified fungus. I posted this information elsewhere on EC but I just don't know where.

I'm going to copy excerpts from my 2007 Nutrition Almanac...

"The iron in the body is normally used efficiently. It is neither used up nor destroyed but is conserved to be used repeatedly; Excess iron, rather than being excreted, is stored; Too much iron, accumulating over the years, occurs often in older men. Iron overload can result in a condition called hemosiderosis, a term for excess iron storage in the body. Iron toxicity is the result of the inability of the digestive tract to eliminate excess iron. Symptoms of iron toxicity include fatigue, headaches, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, shortness of breath, and a grayish color to the skin."

MARILYN,,,,,,, I'm sure you are aware that molasses and Black Strap Molasses are two different syrups. The Black Strap Molasses has gone through 3 different boilings and contains a far greater amount of nutrients, especially iron.

My PT instructor was not aware of that. She is low on iron, but the prescription causes her stomach pain. Thus, she did did not address her deficiency until I told her about BSM.

I think some of this site did not realize the difference in molasses and BSM.

Yes, I know that..Back in the sixties I read a book called "Back to Eden" and I cured my sinus problems with Vit C and also only bought BSM, because I like it, it reminded me of my Dad.

In the early seventies I read a book by Dr Linus Pauling about Vit. C .and at the time I tried steam and or aspirin for the pain. I started taking 500 units of vit .C in the morning before work and them in the evening every day until I started to feel better.I up it to a couple thousand units every day and instead of getting a sinus infection every couple of months it would be every 6 months and it finally went away completely.I haven'y had a sinus infection in 40 years..I still take Vit. C nearly every day..Marilyn_TYG

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I was diagnosed with a uterine polyp since I was spotting for about 4 months. My Gyn. did a D&C and said that might help. It didnt. The spotting continued. I recently started unsulphured blackstrap molasses. After taking 2 tablespoons for 2 days, the spotting completely stopped to my amazement and relief. But now I am feeling totally fatigued. I am not sure why. Has this something to do with my taking the BSM or is it something else. I have stopped the BSM for now. I am now so tired that I am desperate. Not sure what is happening. Please advise.

I had seen doctors about it and after several analgisic trial i gave up. All these are fully gone. My wife that had acne is also taking it and says is working well for her.I also give my children one tsp twice daily daily my though with no health issues and they love it. I and my wife take one tbs morning and before going to bed. no mixture but take it whole from the spoon. not very sweet but we are comfortable.

My 22 month old was diagnosed as being anemic because of low iron count last month his iron count was 10pts the average is 12pts or higher. We had already been giving him high iron food and a vitamin with iron in it and nothing would bring the count up. The pediatrician gave us an iron drop supplement to give him, i didnt feel comfortable giving it to him because of all the side effects. Someone told me to try black strap molasses because it was high in iron. So i gave it a try and in 3 weeks his iron count went from 10pts to 14pts!!! We just gave it to him in his soymilk bottle.

I know it's possible that your child needs to be on soy milk, but you might want to look up phytic acid. It's in any food that's a nut or a seed (grains and beans are seeds) and if the food with phytic acid isn't fermented, sprouted or soaked to destroy the phytic acid, it can pull minerals out of the body. You might even want to Google "phytic acid in soy." At least you're adding minerals back with the Blackstrap Molasses. You can also get more info on this at the Weston Price website.

Please be aware that "soy formula" should be avoided and particularly for boys as soy is "estrogen-ic".

HI U Mspat, what most don't know is that the farmers spray their soy corps with Round-up at the end of the growing season so all the plants will die at the same time. They do that here in our county. This way you get a double dose of garbage. Heard all my life " don't eat the raw vegetables from Mexico". Now it's ...... don't eat anything from the U.S. The feral hogs are the ones spreading ecoli in our lettuce, etc. That is the reason we try to raise as many of our vegetables and fruit as we can. =========ORH=======

ok - i am amazed. after reading about molasses here and remembering my great grandma feeding it to us on biscuits; i knew i HAD to have some and ASAP. well, i got some yesterday and immediately tasted it when i got in the car. i could barely restrain myself from drinking the whole bottle. i positively NEED this stuff. why was i NOT using it before? how had i forgot? weird. already i feel better. i have only had about 1 tablespoon since i got it - but my long time constipation is already better today! originally i got it with the idea to feed it to my pet rat sookie who just isn't thriving. she shows NO interest in it really - but for me i can tell i need it. btw - i am diabetic and was (B-12) anemic when i was younger.

I am 37, and my Grandfather used to give me BSM when I was younger. I have returned to using it since I have heart paplpitations and dizziness due to very low iron. I feel much better, and as one reader stated "the moons are back in her fingernails" so are mine. I also drink Tonic Water around the cold/flu season to divert an oncoming cold.

I have been taking molasses in warm milk and agree it is like a latte. It really tastes good. Also, my leg pain has lessened and I can go up stairs and walk much better. I am also taking the vinegar and baking soda which I didn't think was doing much, but when I added the molasses drink I think it made a big difference. (My doctor says I have very bad arthritis. This is the first relief I have had. These remedies are highly recommended by me.

Supplementing my diet with molasses has decreased my acne about 97% in two weeks. I take two tablespoons when I wake up in the morning, and two before I go to bed at night. It eases digestive problems, so if your acne is related to constipation, it's a sure-fire bet. It also supplements you with minerals such as Chromium, which about 90% of Americans are deficient in.

Meron, I am guessing it's one of those flavors that some automatically like and others cannot stand (and all areas in between). The first time I had a tbsp. of BSM I was amazed at the flavor...and then instead of taking a tbsp. when I dosed with it I just drank it straight from the little bottle I bought; I LOVE the flavor of BSM.

Maureen - Just to let you know, I've had success with having my gray hair turn back using blackstrap molasses, but it's how you use it that matters. When I read your email it sounded to me as though you applied it topically to wash your hair. That's not going to do it for you if you want to bring back your color. You need to be taking a tablespoon or two (it can be mixed into food or drink) a day religiously over months to get the desired effect. The hair actually will grow out of your head darker and it takes a while to notice it working because hair grows so slowly and the ends of your hair will still be gray as the BSM doesn't affect hair that's already grown out. I've been taking a spoonful in a glass of warm water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and have just started upping my consumption to two times a day. I've been doing this for about two months and have noticed a definite darkening of hair growing out and others see the difference, too. It's a work in progress, as they say, but so far so good. I've heard you need to continue for 3-6 months for optimum effect and after that I'd presume you'd need to keep up the regimen to prevent the hair going back to gray. It may be that this is only a partly successful treatment, but it's real color, not something out of a bottle. I'm also guessing that results vary from person to person. I hope this helps you get a better sense of how this works and wish you good luck should you decide to give it a try.

Yes indeed. I have been taking BSM for approx a week, and have noticed considerably less pain in my lower back and hip joints. I will continue taking BSM, approx 2 desertspoons per day. In addition, I mix 2 desertspoons of ACV with a litre of water and sip on that through the day. Something is working for me.

I think that molasses has helped my anemia quite a bit. I mix 1 tbs. peanut butter, a little chocolate syrup and 1 tbs. molasses in a small dessert type dish and microwave for about 15-18 seconds, stir well and ENJOY!!! Tastes great and gives you a bit of a lift.

MARILYN,,,,,,, did organic gardening back in the 70's and it was very labor intensive and I gave up on that chore. Watched the Garden of Eden video that you mentioned and got pumped again. I have access to lots of chips.

https://vimeo.com/28055108

Since we only plant half of our 100' X 100' garden, I'm going to take the half we don't plant and do the Garden of Eden thing. Glad we got to know one another. As the ole saying goes, you are never too old to learn a new trick.

I thank you. ======ORH=======

when I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I had a slim figure (all my life). Now I am gaining weight and my doctor tells me it is the insulin. Never before have I had high blood pressure - now I have it! I am vegetarian with wheat allergy and walk almost daily close to an hour. I suffer from extreme fatigue.

I never eat junk and almost all crackers are made with canola oil so I won't have them. I will experiment with acv. It has a lot of potassium and is alkaline. By the way, black strap molasses cures arthritis. But now after four years it is coming back because molasses is a problem with diabetes. Apple Cider Vinegar does mitigate arthritic pain. B. St. Molasses is excelent for cancer as it dries up tumours. My dog was thought to have a large tumour but after two years of diluted b st molasses in her food she is healthy with a fabulous coat the colour of which are very vibrant.. In India the sugarcane plantation workers are very poor. So they eat a lot of sugar cane. They have good teeth and never cancer. Our organic store bought molasses must be dissolved in some warm water. Om

I kept getting breakouts on my chin and around my mouth. I somehow stumbled onto blackstrap molasses. I take two tablespoons a day (in Stash's double spice chai tea- really good) and it really seems to help. No new breakouts. Just the fading red marks from the old ones. I pretty certain it's the molasses because I stopped taking it for about a month while I was on vacation and the acne came back within a week.

I also did some research- blackstrap contains copper which helps skin repair itself and a bit of zinc which when taken consistently has the effect of an antibiotic/anti-acne prescription. Just make sure you get the right ratio of zinc and copper- they block the absorption of each other and can cause an imbalance.

I am not sure if most people are aware that all forms of Sucrose, Fructose etc, are what feed all tumors and cysts. When the majority of people opt out of fast food, junk food etc when they are diagnosed with cancer, they tend to eat and drink fruits. Not a good choice. Sugar refined white is deadly. Are any of you aware that actual Sugar causes high blood pressure? It's a medical fact

Fruit juice are processed with high heat. All fruit juices are required in the US to be pasteurized. By drinking fruit juice premade, I believe do many Herbalists, Osteopaths, Homeopathic Medical Professionals that a nutrient has not yet been discovered by Science. This nutrient aids our body's ability to absorb the fruit sugars and keeps us from developing Type 2 Diabetes from over use of juices, velivibg they are the healthiest choices. Vitamin C is very important in our absorption of Iron.

I was diagnosed with a Hemoglobin of 2.06 in January of 2018. Every imaginable test was run to discover why I was suffering from such low iron. They immediately gave be blood transfusions. Which weren't working very well. They discovered I have a rare Antibody in Ky blood which is very unusual in a patient who has never had any blood products or transfusions prior. I started accepting the iron after having it specifically made to my bodies requirements. The Drs and Nurses were surprised I was still alive when I came into I the ER. In fact, the added my make to the lowest and highest of a disorders board at Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa Ca.

I use Black Strap Molasses in my Coffee. Have loved it since I was anemic with my oldest daughter in 1983. It was recommended by my Swedish Educated OB/GYN. I used it in all 5 of my pregnancies.

I also prefer and discovered Oranges instead of orange juice helps overcome cold much quicker. Also, we have been using only Himalayan Pink Salt since 2015 and have not suffered a single cold or flu since then.

Restless Leg Syndrome

Hi, there is a cure for restless leg syndrome, and it comes in the form of BLACK STRAP MOLASSES. While using BSM for I discovered that my restless leg syndrome stopped completely, as long as I use it daily. I have suffered for years with this condition, family members, my dad , brother and aunt have it so hereditary I am sure and from what I read there are plently of pills doctors will prescribe for you, but for me natural is the only way to go. I take 1 tablespoon a day of BSM, I use it to manage my female issues and PMS, and heavy bleeding, that now is cut in half, and the happy side affect to that regimine was the cure for my restless leg syndrome, which caused so much pain, and movement just to fall asleep. I have to say that this website has given me my life back in a way that is a miracle. No pills for me if I can ever help it. I look up a syndrome, or condition and more then likely I find it here and I try it and or apply it to my own life and see how it goes. So far so good. I believe that we know ourselves better then any doctor ever could. This website could be the very thing that saves your life. I mean more and more on tv to radio I see and hear more and more about restless leg syndrome and companies promoting more and more medicines for the syndrome so they can make money, if they did research like I did online they would see the cure right in front of them, it comes up in my search right away. Simple and inexspensive and it doesn't hurt the body in other ways. I get frustrated just seeing commercials trying to get people to take there drugs. Anyhow, BSM 1 tablespoon a day has cured my RLS and I am forever grateful. I do my best to promote this site to friends and family and I know they get tired of listening to me sometimes, but thats OK! The truth here for me is a miracle so passing it along is just what we're supposed to do. In the right kind of world. Thanks a million to all have written here.

I was suffering for years with anemia and I had even been let go from my job due to the fact that I could not keep my strength up. I had been told by several doctors that my multiple fibroids required a hysterectomy. I had no tolerance for ANY type of iron supplement. I was steadily getting worse. One doctor even gave up treating me. When that happened I was greatly distressed. I began to recall an island friend telling me that I needed to take blackstrap molasses. So I began using it and lo and behold I improved immediately. My blood count went up from 6 to 7.8 in one month. I now am going through menopause and have found that it helps even with that. I love it and tell everyone about it. My husband takes it daily. I also have no more symptoms of anemia and fibroid issues. I take it now for the calcium and other minerals that are great for menopause troubles.

Molasses and iron.

Organic iron - good. Metallic iron - bad. Iron in its elemental state is what is used in most drugstore vitamins, and in most iron fortified cereals, flour etc. Read the label and it will say iron or reduced iron. Reduced means the iron filings are ground up very small. It is still like chewing on a nail, and elemental iron CAUSES pernicious anemia and a lot of other probs. It is toxic. Avoid iron fortified 'anything' like the plague.

But molasses is the right stuff. All the minerals therein have been filtered and processed through the plant and are in organic form. Just think. They get rid of the fiber, most of the water and sugar, and what is left is concentrated organic minerals. You would pay a premium price for it if it were in capsules and a fancy bottle at the health food store. But guess what! It is delicious and cheap and available most everywhere. This is the best health bargain there is.
