2 tsp ACV & 1/4 tsp BS -2 times a day - with a little excercise (very slow jogging) has dropped my weight (12 lbs. so far) & dropped blood preasure down to 137/75 (was 156/95). I've been on this regiment for about 3 weeks and feel absolutely great. My doctor wanted to put me on blood preasure pills and cholesterol pills, it just scared the H--- out of me - I had to do something other than DRUGS. In my searching, I discovered a website that offered a FREE discount drug card because I can not afford medical coverage, if I had to do the drugs, this would have been an alternative. (you can Email me if you want the site). I also have gotten my wife started on this for her alergies (she likes the Claritin D, I gotta get her off that stuff! My son 21yo, who has this deep hacking cough (I believe is fungal), can not be diagnosed by the 4 doctors I've sent him to, guess what he's going to start doing - you got it, ACV & BS. I can't wait to see the look on my doctor's face when he sees the results - Thank you everyone for your comments and personal caring about other people, it's very refreshing to know others do care.

Dear EarthClinic-

I am so confused about what this is. I started taking baking soda(1/4 tsp.) mixed in 2 tblsp of ACV. I let it set about 30 minutes and then add about 4-5ounces of orange juice and drink. I have done this for about 7 days 2 times a day. Lately I am having big time JOINT PAIN. Today I had pains so sharp in my knees that I couldn't stand on them until it quit. When I wake in the a.m. my fingers are very stiff and my knuckles hurt. Is this a possible side effect of the Baking soda and acv? I have been using it to try and balance my ph as i have candida (mouth, scalp and vaginal). Any suggestions?

I am happy to hear of your improved skin condition.

Technically speaking, ACV and baking soda remedy suppose to normalize two specific parameters of the blood, namely to normalize ORP (oxidation reduction potential), and the pH buffering capacity of the blood. Bacteria growth are controlled by several parameters, namely ORP, pH, and salinity. Certain nutrients can also reduce bacteria growth namely chromium, manganese and zinc. Fungus issue is a very common skin problem in older people and are controlled by mostly pH, but is also effected by chromium, boron, and acetates (from vinegar) as well as ORP (measured in milliamps). Generally speaking a sacred healing water have similar ORP levels and pH as in an ordinary vinegar and baking soda, making them a good potential sources for healing various condition that can be one possible alternative to visiting a sacred healing spring water. While I can't add everything to have all the parameters, the apple cider vinegar and baking soda should be able to handle many of the issue..

The acetic portion of the vinegar, found in the apple cider vinegar and alkalinity suppose to have a sort of anti fungal properties, especially the acetic portion as well as reduction of excess tissue calcium from long term metabolic acidosis. The increase alkalization causes the cappilary to dilate and help with the circulation, and hence hydration. Supplenss of the skin is returned if tissue calcium is removed from the effects of the aceitc portion making them more supple. Reduce inflammation comes from increase alkalization which has an a natural antibiotic effects. Antibiotics basically are produced from a fungus. So a person with a fungal skin issue might not benefit from improve skin from antibiotic use due to possible presence of fungal toxins. I believe there's more future in vinegar, baking soda, borax, and my latest findings are ammonium compounds, such as ammonium chloride solution to help many fungal skin and skin inflammation issues also. The solution I used is a 10% solution to apply for the skin to resolved with problem pigmentation issues of the skin bought on by fungus (as in so called liver spots) which are actually fungus. Lately I have had hyperpigmentation of the face but was able to become normal with the application of an ammonium chloride solution, or even a vinegar solution is lso possible. They are both antifungal, but ammonium chloride is a stronger one for more aged spots and hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation. Apple cider vinegar and baking soda usually can handle problem skin as well as glandular functions too. It works by normaling some of the blood parameters, which is why there is a general feeling of more energy.

I have never really felt compelled enough to comment on a website about a subject until now.
I have been suffering from various skin ailments from some time, burning red dry palms, red pinkish face, extremely dry skin (face, palms, back of arms, legs, sides of trunk - all slightly red/pink), my skin really suffered, i was prone to infections (athletes foot etc) and i generally felt very run down. I had been to the doctors on several occasions and was prescribed nothing more than moisturiser which of course had no effect on my many ailments and to be honest i was getting quite fed up of it all. Despite having a balanced diet, taking plenty of exercise (5 times a week and quite intensive) and staying hydrated my skin condition did not improve and in fact was slowly deteriorating so much so that i thought antibiotics might be the only answer. I stumbled across the ACV and baking soda remedy (2tsp ACV and 1/2tsp baking soda in cup water, 3 times a day) and i must say all my ailments (which i have had for well over a year) have almost disappeared in less than 4 days!! I really can't believe it, i feel completely recharged, my skin is shining, the redness has faded substantially and my skin is starting to feel quite normal, if not softer and better than before. I would highly recommend this remedy and am extremely happy with the results already in such a short space of time. I feel really healthy now and am experiencing a constant 'buzz' of good energy/positivity throughout the day (sorry don't mean to sound new age there), i also feel considerably less stressed at work and am constantly in a good mood with lots of energy and feel mentally sharper. I appreciate this remedy might not work for everyone but i just wanted to share my experiences so someone else might see this and also benefit from it too. (for information i am in the UK and am using Aspall Organic Cyder Vinegar from Holland and Barratt and bicarbonate of soda (any supermarket)- I have yet to try an ACV with 'mother' but would like to as i wonder if the results will be even better)

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I have an ongoing sinus issue as well, muscle tightness (always, always) in my shoulders (since my teen years), lower back pain (sacroiliac?) poppint joints, and some recently acquired arthritis pains in my hands. Found this site, quit ALL meds, started 2T of ACV with 1tsp honey and 1/2 tsp baking soda. After 1 week, substantial relief in my hands, some relief with sinus, but now I have achiness all over... joint popping and low back pain continue to come and go. Thinking I have a yeast issue and am looking for answers on this site... help?! I believe the ACV treatment is working for me so far! I enjoy this site and everyone's input. I'm listening to the catpurr as I type. :O)

I can concur. I've been drinking 2T vinegar in one qt water twice daily and adding once daily 1/8t baking soda the past two days for my uric acid kidney stones and within one day from beginning the vinegar, my gouty feet were healed and I've been able to put my feet flat on the floor for the first time in years. I didn't even realize the amount of pain I had been in. It's truly amazing.

GERD

I've been on 30mg Prevacid for almost ten years and suffer from severe GERD. If I forget a dose of Prevacid, I know it by 10am.

I started on the ACV regimen two days ago and have noticed immediate results. I and my wife are both thrilled about it. I am using Ted's version of the recipe (2T of ACV and 1/4t of baking soda).

I note that the effects of the ACV wear off in about 3-4 hours and I need to redose, but since I'm supposed to be taking the concoction three times a day, I'm not surprised.

However, I'm wondering if you have any advice for dosage with someone whose GERD is as severe as mine is. Will the effects last longer if I take 3T of ACV? Or is the regular alkalization of the body throughout the day the goal? And finally, can I make a preparation of ACV and BS first thing in the morning (6T ACV and 3/4t of BS) and drink it throughout the day, or will the BS degrade or fizz away and lose potency?

Thanks.

WARNING!

I added Baking Soda to my ACV treatment and had many of the side effects others mention on this site. Baking Soda lowers Vitamin C levels and this can lead to symptoms of scurvy. I had to do a lot of research to find this out. I woke up with a purple spot/bruise on my leg and that convinced me, as I had not bumped into anything to bruise myself. The purple bruise looking spot is a sign of scurvy. Luckily, it was recommened to me to take Vitamin C for Constipation. I was sooo sick (my asthma was out of control) last night and the night before. I did not know that Vitamin C actually helps Astmatics.

I took 6 mgs of Vitamin C last night in error. I picked up the wrong size of measuring spoon!!..luckily! I had been up the prior two nights coughing up mucus, but last night I slept through the night. I couldn't figure it out since I needed to take bendryl the other nights just to not choke on the mucus. It appears that the 6 mg of Vitamin C did it's job to replenish my Vitamin C and to help with my asthma.

I woke up with the usual morning junk to cough up and spit out. I took 1000 mg of vitamin C and it stopped this problem dead in it's tracks. People need to read about what vitamin C does, especially for people with Asthma and food allergies. Also, the baking soda should NOT be recommended on this site.

It depletes the Vitamin C. If someone is already low in Vitamin C it can cause Survy Symptoms as it did in me.

I love this site, but I think promoting Baking Soda that depletes Vitamin C is wrong. Also, I love Apple Cider Vinegar and it is promoted here as the top natural relief, but I never hear any talk of vitamin C. It works wonders for Asthma, Hay fever and a load of Respiratory illnesses and other illnesses.

Hello, everyone

I just wanted to say what a difference these health tips have made for me. this is the 1st fall season I have not come down with a head cold that went directly to my chest and lungs and I credit that to the acv, organic bs,and local raw honey. heat 4oz. of boiled water, and put bs,acv, and honey in that order(cuts down on fizz of bs). I've noticed some complaints about the act's sour and burn; the bs and honey will change that (I'm diabetic, and that Tbsp does not raise my sugar either).

It's 2or3 tbsp of acv, half or whole tsp of organic bs and tbspor half of raw (local) honey.

This mixture has also helped my breathing (I was overweight and smoked for years), edema(swelling) in my legs has reduced to normal, and acv w/diet has brought my sugar down 200pnts. go back and try the ACV mix. It can't hurt and will help. MANY BLESSINGS!

ACV & baking soda: I woke up one morning with an ache in my thumb and by the next day I had my first attack of Gout. A friend, who is an MD gave me a script for colchozine and I got absolutely no relief from taking that, prednizone and large amounts of ibuprophen. It hurt so badly for four days, I was starting to freak out! I went to our local health food store and bought $100 worth of supplements and began taking things like cherry, celery seed, alfalfa and fatty acids. Then that night I found a web site that told me to take ACV & baking soda in 6 - 8 oz. of water. I did it that night and thought I felt some relief but didn't want to be too hopeful. In the night I woke up and took more water and baking soda only. (I understood the chemistry behind the soda offsetting the acid) I woke up disappointed that it was not better at all. I found this web site and I decided to try the ACV & Baking soda again and amazingly withing 20 minutes I began feeling a lot of relief. I kept up the same regiment of supplements but with the ACV & baking soda twice a day. After 4 days I'd say I'm 90% recovered. The pain was much reduced after 1 1/2 days. I still have a small knot and some tenderness in one spot! Thanks so much!!!

Isn't it nice to be able to say, "I will just listen to my own body to judge how I feel". We are so fortunate to have this website and someone like Ted who takes the enormous amount of time and energy needed to research all of this for the benefit of others. Thanks Ted for helping us find the TOOLS to be able to say...I will listen to my own body. :-) (From an OP, ACV, H202, and a BS user.)

I had a very uncomfortable UTI today. I used apple cider mixed with water and baking soda. In less than hour after taking it and drinking a lot of water the pain was gone and I did not have to go every few minutes. This really works I have suffered from UTI for years and this is the first home remedy I have tried that worked.

Blood Pressure

After reading so many positive comments I decided to give it a try. I am a slim and healthy engineer who started taking Prozac for anxiety a few months ago. My blood pressure went up from normal levels to about 138-145/87-95. Given that I am 48 years old my doctor told me that it may also be related to my age and that perhaps I may need to go into medication for it. I started searching and found this website and the comments on ACV. I thought that I had nothing to lose by trying it. I even like vinegar with olive oil in my salads. Given the various options for taking the ACV I opted for one that seemed more sensible for me. Half a glass of water with two tbs of ACV and 1/4 tbs of baking soda. I am taking this three times a day. Early in the morning before breakfast about 1 hour after lunch and 1 hour after dinner. I reasoned that perhaps on an empty or semi-empty stomach would be better. Some people may not like the taste but I am used to it and don't mind it at all. Let me tell you that the results in 10 days of doing this have been very impressive. I have been taking my pressure some times twice a day. My blood pressure started coming down. I have had only one spike one day around the 4th day. I have been 120-125/70-75 in the last five days. So, what can I tell you? Try it out, you may be happily surprised by the results.

Kidney Infection

I got an e coli infection from eating at a local fast food joint. After the five days of diarrhea I then had a kidney/bladder infection from it.

My blood pressure on tuesday was 149/94. I read on here about the ACV and baking soda. I put two tablespoons acv with with a 1/4 tablespoon baking soda in a full glass of water. About three hours later I took my blood pressure; it was 124/79. Wow, and I feel so much better too!

I had to force myself to drink it, but it was definently worth it.
