Hi:

I've been taking apple cider vinegar (2 TBlspns) along with 1/4 tsp baking soda in 8 oz of water. I seem to be having diarrhea and stomach cramping. Is this normal? I've taken it for once a day for two days on an empty stomach in the morning. Should I stop taking this or am I doing something wrong?

Please help! Thanks!

I gave my son some ACV this morning as he had a bad dose of diarrhea. I mixed 1 tsp of ACV in about 8 oz of water with about 1 tsp of fresh lemon juice and it tastes quite nice. Lemon juice in itself is a good alkaliser as well.

I'm so glad Meganmom is on the right track, but I don't think Sarah's question was addressed. I, too, would like to give my son (age 6) the remedy for alkalizing, but he gags on the taste of ACV. Any suggestions would be most grateful!

Can you mix the ACV and Baking soda with juice or does it have to be water? I want to get my two toddlers to drink... Any tips on how to get it down?

Hi Ted,

I started taking ACV with BS a couple months ago and I feel I have seen some positive results ie: my skin etc. The problem is I noticed since I started this regime I feel like something is crawling under the skin on my upper back. This doesn't happen everyday, but enough for me to notice it.

Have you heard of this before? What kind of reaction is this? I am anxious to hear your opinion and advice.

Regards,

Ella

First time I ever tried Apple Cider Vinegar and bs I loved it, it cleaned my whole system completely out also for many years and because of this fungal virus I have had the hardest time moving my bowels, but after using Apple Cider Vinegar and bs I won't be needing other remedies. I will be taking a rest after this long bout of cleaning house, soon I will be back on the journey of Apple Cider Vinegar and bs again for more complete cleaning of my system. I also use it with my kitten I found in the street almost dead, I found one thing she had was internal parasites and very high acidic invironment and Apple Cider Vinegar did the trick, she is well strong and thriving.

My family just started using it and already we have less snot(and with 5 kids at home you better believe its great)my husbands reflux is better and my allergy symptoms are way less. We do add baking soda so we don't have to worry about the high acid content and the kids like the fizziness.

Yes, it works!!! I discovered a "tweak" I am adding at the end of my little blurb. My reflux problem was fairly severe and had plagued me for about 15 years. The ACV keeps it in check and I consider myself lucky to have found this site. I started taking it about 6 months ago after reading the information on this site. I followed Ted's protocol of 5 days on; 2 days off. It took about 2 weeks to really make a difference and when I stopped taking it again, foolish thinking I was cured, it started gradually coming back. I took it regularly for several months and then tended to forget to take the regular dose.

What I found works well for me is to simply take it when I remember to without serious regard to the protcol. Sometimes it is 3 times in a day, sometimes once or twice in a day - sometimes it is every day, other times there are a few days between my doses. I went on a 2 week road trip in this summer and was not able to take any for those 2 weeks. Apparently as long as I take it reasonably regularly, it works despite my not following the protocol religiously. I would highly recommend starting Ted's protocol, then adjusting it to your body's needs. I suspect there will be variations in how it works for each individual according to age, gender, weight, metabolism and so on. Mixing the ACV 1 glass at a time is a bit of a pain, so I got myself a 1 litre jug and marked off the 75 ml (or 1/3 cup) then put 1 tsp ACV in a filled with 750 ml (3 cups) water. This way I don't have to mix so often. I found I prefer it slightly acidic as opposed to tasting the baking soda.

Now for my "tweak": I found if I pour the water in with the ACV, then add the baking soda last and slap a tight-fitting cap on before the baking soda starts to foam up. What happens is you have now created a carbonized beverage that almost (emphasis on almost) tastes good. Hope this helps you as much as it did me. My sincere Thanks to Ted. Steener from QB, Canada

To Sheena--- My suggestion for a stabbing headache is 1 teaspoon of any instant caffeinated coffee. I too used to suffer from stabbing headaches until a friend suggested it to me. Use 1/3 cup of water & dissolve the teaspoon of coffee inside. The idea is to a have a coffee shot, and use a straw to drink it, so that your teeth won't get stained. I brush mine after I drink it. If it does not go away within 5-10 minutes, do another teaspoon of coffee with the same amount of water. I hope this will work for you. Post your results.

Hi Sheena - I have these on very rare occasions - I think they are referred to as "ice pick" headaches. I have a Hulda Clark Zapper that I have been using for years, off and on for numerous problems. When I get the first sign of the ice pick headaches, I use the zapper 2-3 times a day and voila , they go away by the next day! Perhaps it has to do with parasites. I am not sure, but all I can say, that for me, it works every time.

Just discovered this site two weeks ago--love it!! Am using the ACV and BS. Now sleeping through the night, no more sniffles from allergies and arthritis pain is greatly diminished (I am 68). I use 2 tsp of ACV and 1/4 tsp of BS three times a day. Still have an excruciating stabbing headache on the top left of my head however and it has been 2 weeks. Keeping me off work. Have tried ACV wrap on my neck to no avail. Taking Feverfew. Any ideas? Thank you all!

well, first of all baking soda DOES NOT deplete vitamin C and is even chemically combined with it to make sodium ascorbate. Your side effects were likely caused by something else. Stop your last 2 supplements and see if they go away.

I would have to say that I disagree completely with the_phoenix's conclusions. I regard taking lemon or lime with baking soda as the major factor that helped me to successfully cure my candida. My understanding of the use of lemon and lime or ACV with baking soda came after my own long period of use and experimentation (4 years).

For me, lemon and lime with baking soda is the most useful because:

* It provides good citrate and ascorbate balance between sodium and potassium electrolytes.

* This remedy both alkalizes the blood as well as the internal body cell environment.

*As Ted has said, the lemon or lime remedy normalizes many biological parameters including pH, ORP, phosphates, bicarbonates and antioxidants of vitamin C.

I also use the ACV and baking soda remedy, but usually only if I need more energy, because the malates formed from the malic acid in ACV are utilized in the Kreb's energy cycle of cell metabolism and respiration. But I also use methylene blue or hydrogen peroxide internally, they are usually just as good as ACV, if not better, for increasing the efficiency of cell respiration and increasing energy levels in general.

I've also found, from personal usage, that lemon or lime plus baking soda seems to actually alkalize the body better than using ACV. As Ted says, ACV and BS only alkalizes the body to a pH of 7, whereas the lemon and lime remedy normally alkalizes the body to a higher and more balanced level.

Also, in the_phoenix's post, I note that she gives many reasons for her belief that ACV is better than the lemon/lime remedy and then afterwards, with no further critique on lemon/lime -- no reasons -- she concludes:

"Lemon juice has different properties[WHAT DIFFERENT PROPERTIES?] and hence is NOT a suitable subsitute in most cases although it is also an organic acid and contains potassium."

Here is what Ted from Bangkok offers and concludes regarding the ACV and Lemon/Lime remedies:

"In my opinion the best formula to use is the lime-baking soda formula, after drinking it many biological terrain parameters would be normalized the best."

The judgements the_phoenix offers are neither fair or good enough in the criticisms of the lemon and lime remedy.

Remember that people who have no experience at all read EC, and I would personally hate to think that I would mis-advise or mislead anyone concerning any of the remedies here.

Hi,

Thank you for the welcome. I was trying to find some do's and don't regarding eating/drinking while taking the ACV&BS for weight loss. I see a lot of people do not follow the directions and have not been receiving their desired results. I was interested in knowing if there are some foods or drinks (coffee) we should not indulge in or is it not a priority.

You hasten response is sincerely appreciated.

Thanks,

J.

I started using apple cider vinegar (approx 1-2 tablespoon) with baking soda (1 teaspoon) in 750ml of water, and 1/8 teaspoon in borax every morning, and the same mixture again at night (without the borax). It has only been about 10days since I started doing this.

It has reduced all of my bloating, increased my energy, my stomach is almost flat again! This is something that I couldn't even achieve as a personal trainer and working out 6 days a week. I think I'm even passing some parasites (or what looks like parasites- little white things). My body is getting back to what I looked like as a teenager. Its amazing!

Also it is keeping by bm's 'regular', which has been an issue for me in the past.

I have not changed my diet at all, but I now no longer take sugar in my coffee, as I don't like the sweet taste (since starting the remedy). Also I'm not hungry all the time like I used to be!

Thanks goodness for Earth Clinic!

Well I have tried this as well, and I find it makes my face twitchy and red and I just do not feel good when I take it. Also, I have tried the baking soda and water with lemon juice as well as just with water, but it still seems to give me a headache and yes, somehow I suspect its because of Candida.

I get a constant headache when I use the ACV. I lowered the dosage to 1t ACV with Baking soda but still get the headache. Is anyone else having this problem? Is it a normal temporary side effect? I am trying to get rid of candida.

Apple cider vinegar is absolutely amazing. I can't say enough good things about it. I have lost weight, the spider veins on my legs are almost completely gone, and the cellulite on the back of my legs is like 80% gone. NO more acid reflux, regular bowel movements. i just started black strap molasses. God truly gave us everything we would need to live a healthy life on this earth.

I thought it was time to share my positive feedback on weight loss through drinking Apple Cider Vinegar and Bicarb Soda (sodium bicarbonate).

I'm 28 and have been taking the pill for about 5 years and recently decided I should have a break. I had gained a couple of extra kilos over the years that became increasingly hard to shift. Every year it was only a little bit but it all adds up, and like my dad says, half a kilo a year = very overweight by the time you're in your 50's! I'd always been very slim and didn't tend to put on weight, despite the fact I used to "eat for Australia" -- much to most people's jealousy. I could basically eat whatever I liked at whatever time of day. I eventually just attributed the cellulite and extra "puppy fat" to getting older and gave up trying to get back to my late teenage size. We're only talking about a size and a half bigger here but it was the fact that I just COULDN'T get rid of the fat that got me down. I was also having major migraines around the time of menstruation and the pill I was taking was really expensive, so I decided to have a break, I figured it would do me good.

Immediately the fat started dropping off! This was bitter-sweet for me, as it confirmed my suspicions but it also meant I was always going to have to deal with the extra kilos if I wanted to avoid "oops" children (other contraception didn't work well for me).

Eventually I had such bad skin problems (I guess it was like a "withdrawal"?) that I started back on it. But I'd effortlessly dropped almost 2 sizes and was able to get back into old jeans I'd given up on, all whilst eating like I used to - it was so liberating! I was chuffed!

Before I started taking the BC pill again I started with a regimen of ACV twice a day. I've been using it on and off for about a year and found it kept colds and flu at bay, helped me get better quicker and relieved a lot of muscle cramps I get from sitting at a computer all day. NOT to mention the candida probs it helps fix! I am a chronic thrush sufferer and the best "help" I've been able to get from the medical community is "Oh well, some women are just prone to it". YAY! Coming from a male doctor. Ie. "Just deal with it". If you suffer this problem you will know what I mean when I say it can make you beside yourself, on an emotional level, when you can't stop it, get rid of it or even enjoy eating any of the foods you like. And the discomfort of being incredibly itchy ALL the time! Anyway that's a post for the "candida" part of this website. :-) Suffice it to say ACV keeps things in my digestive tract fairly under control, even when I eat known "aggravators".

So I started having 2 Tbsp with about a level tsp of bicarb each morning and evening (for thrush at that stage). I have been back on the pill for a month and a half AND I've been eating all the wrong foods (ie. Pasta, bread, some snacks, pastries and sugary treats at the movies) and my weight remains the same. I'm very surprised. I've found I have a lot more freedom in what I can eat without suffering weight-gain or side effects of digestive complaints. I've also started using it on my face as a toner at night after I cleanse - it was the only thing that helped clear up the massive acne outbreak I had when I went off the pill. I use it straight and apply with a cotton pad, then rinse off after about 20 seconds. Stings a bit but you know it's working!

I can't say enough good things about ACV!

Response to Lee from Meredith: Lee, the ACV is wonderful for you to take. It will lower your blood pressure. I take it 3 times each day, 30 minutes before meals and I am on a blood pressure medication. I put my 85 year old friend on it and she took 3 blood pressure pills each day when she started. Now she is down to one. Take 2 t. ACV and 1 t. honey three times a day. It will do other wonderful things for you too.

Good Luck, Carolyn

I take mine with grape juice and it is ok. I give it to my husband with unfiltered not from concentrate apple juice and you can hardly taste it. I haven't tried with lemon juice but that is another alternative. Hope this helps!!
