Effective Natural Remedies for Tooth Abscess Relief

Chamomile Tea Bag

I have a cavity that is very deep. I also have an abscess tooth. I placed a chamomile tea bag on the area and spit out about a quarter of a cup of saliva. I repeated this with another Tea bag. The pain stopped, the swelling was gone and so was the redness. Instead of getting my tooth pulled or getting a root canal, I am continuing home remedies and just getting my teeth cleaned for now.

Clay clay clay + Colloidal Silver

I tried everything for a recent abscess. I'm out of the country, so a little desperate. I ordered a brand after researching most effective colloidal silvers, and whammo, it kicked the infection in the butt immediately. I swished a bit with it, but also had about 2 tbsp. each day.

At the same time, I also packed the tooth on both sides with food grade bentonite clay overnight. The swelling diminished substantially within 2 days, by day 4 pretty much gone, but I continue to use.

I also drank a half teaspoon or so of bentonite clay in a big glass of water before I went to sleep.

I was taking all kinds of other supplements (C, olive leaf extract, oregano oil, quercitin, tumeric, etc) but it wasn't until I started with colloidal silver and bentonite clay that the abscess went away, swollen glands went away, discomfort went away.

May I ask what do you mean "a head" in "You need to remove this pus and this brought it to a head"? Is the pus cause a head? Or we need to remove the pus until a head show up? Please, please, please explain this.

Quart water bowl with 1/16 tsp sea salt for small dog...up to 1/4 tsp for large dog. Let them drink it up . Also make them some coconut oil treats....they love it and it kills bacteria that is causing the pain. I read a lady made some activated charcoal biscuits for her chickens but her kids ate them....I tried it...it fights all kinds of germs too.

I'm wanting to know about infection in my dog's tooth. It will be pulled next month, but the vet said it was painful for him, but nothing for pain or to control the infection until they can fit him into their schedule to extract it. I'm wondering I could do him harm if I put Oral Gel on it....I asked these questions of the vet, but was not given the answers. Joy

Dental infection, I had a severe infection under a tooth that had a deep filling that killed the nerve in tooth, this tooth infection under it pushed the tooth up so high I couldnt shut my mouth, had my jaw bone throbbing with every heartbeat,

I used sea salt in water swished around in mouth for 10 to 20 minutes several times a day, took the infection down enough I had the tooth extracted w/o antibodies.

Worth trying.

DMSO, Nascent Iodine, Garlic

If a tooth infection returns, this will get to the root cause. Iodine has been used throughout history in denistry because of its ability to help rebuild tissue, while acting as one of the worlds strongest natural antibiotics. The combination of iodine and garlic internally will also kill any infection that might be lingering in the blood. I had a very serious bone, root and possible blood infection, as a result of reoccurring root infection and abscess. This was stemming from an underlying jaw bone infection. I have tried all of the other cures on here, and garlic especially does work. In my case however it would always return, maybe even months later. It was not until I dealt with the underlying bone infection, (and dmso is the only way I know how to do this), that I have been infection free for years now.

DMSO and Nacent Iodine Rinse, plus 6 drops of Nacent Iodine and 6 cloves of garlic internally daily.

(Iodine and garlic to be taken separately) (Not for people on thyroid medication)

This will not only cure ANY abscess, but will also cure any underlying jaw bone infection that may be present, to prevent infection re-occurrences.

(Test mouth sensitivity first with a couple drops)

7 parts dmso1 part distilled water2 parts nacent iodine

1. Make sure mouth is clean(salt water or hydrogen peroxide rinse first)

2. Swish iodine dmso solution for 10 min, better swallowed after rinse, again thyroid must be healthy. (this will also ease the pain)

3. Wait 10 more minutes without eating or introducing anything into the mouth, and better not to rinse immediately this will give it more time to reach deep into the gums and even bone.(the dmso, will take anything with it into the blood so keep this in mind) including smoking, drinking or food.

4. After waiting 10 mins, follow with a 5 min salt water or hydrogen peroxide rinse, to close the mouths super absorbent state.

5. Do not eat anything, or drink anything except water, for at least 1 hour following this.

This can be done several time a day, but watch your iodine consumption if swallowing the rinse everytime.

Always better to see the dentist first but for those of us that can't, THIS WORKS!

This past Saturday, I developed an abscessed tooth. By Sunday, I was hurting bad enough that I went to the store and bought charcoal. Before leaving the parking lot, I mixed a small amount of with a couple drops of clove oil and used a paper towel to pack the gums with the mixture. within 45 minutes the pain was drastically reduced. Once I got home, I mixed up some more charcoal with cloves and olive oil. I soaked a cotton ball with the mixture and put it on my gums, left it there a couple hours. That night I took a heating pad and ice pack to bed, switched them out a couple times before going to sleep. Monday morning, the left side of my face was swollen, but there was no pain. Of course it was a holiday weekend so the dentist was not in that day, but I called and left a message on their answering machine. I did get a call back and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday morning.

All day Monday I was pain free. Monday night I slept with a charcoal pack on my gums. Still no pain the next day. The dentist looked at the x-ray and said I had two areas of raging abscess. He was shocked I was not in pain, so I told him about the charcoal. When he looked in my mouth, he was an area on my gums that was very swollen, red, and oozing. He was able to drain some of the pus out, but was surprised that the abscess had come to the surface. I asked him if that could be a result of the charcoal pulling the infection out and he agreed it might be. I am scheduled for a root canal on Friday. Until then, I will keep up with the charcoal packs.

Luckily I am fluent in several languages and thus have access to other than English research, testimonials, etc. There are hundreds and hundreds of testimonials in Russia from people of all ages about regrowing their teeth purely by visualization and specific consciousness, awareness techniques. For example, guiding a "violet laser" light through the thyroid gland, navigating it to all 32 (or 28) teeth and then from there to each organ where the meridians are connecting. The "violet laser" which you visualize is strongly anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti-microbial and works wonders. There are several Russian seminars and videos by Arkady Petrov on all these techniques, he travels around Russia (no, I am not Russian but I am fluent in Russian language) giving his lectures. He wrote about 20 books, all his information when applied are OFFICIALLY confirmed by dentists, doctors, health practitioners and certified by the local court (!!! ) thus it is certain that they are not fraud and it is all real deal. Remember, YOUR MIND is extremely powerful, trust your body intelligence, spend several minutes a day dedicating to your body (and teeth, gums).

Absolouely agree with you, Purelife, we truly have to thank GOD for all these cures that HE has created. We have to remember to ask for His help and be grateful always.

My tooth was so bad that I was in pain that I have never experienced in my life. I never thought that such pain existed

the first thing I did was deeply pray to GOD and I was so blessed to receive such good information through many different directions

i only ever knew about conventional toothpaste and I have stopped using it all together

# I started oil pulling with unrefined coconut oil swishing for twenty minutes in the morning before brushing teeth then spitting out in the trash as you don't want to clog your drains. This helped in bringing pain down.

# I have been using bentonite clay with very good success thank GOD. It pulls out the toxins from whichever area you put it on. I mix the bentonite clay with water to make a paste that is the consistency of peanut butter.

# I then put this in an empty teabag and place on gums and tooth over night, every night, sometimes during the day on my days off.

# I also try to brush my teeth after every meal, if I cannot brush after every meal when I am out then I will always swish my mouth with tap water x3 times thoroughly.

# I will put oregano oil all over my gums, usually around x3 times a day.

@ In the morning and at night before going to bed I do a thorough deep cleaning of my teeth and mouth.

@ In the morning I first do raw unrefined coconut oil pulling for twenty minutes.

@ I then swish with a solution of salt, sodium bicarbonate, half teaspoon of each in warm water for around x5 minutes with one drop of clove essential oil mixed in the solution.

@ I then brush my teeth with a paste of bentonite clay and calcium carbonate. I do the same at night but without oil pulling

i do not have any pain thank GOD and I am going to carry on with this routine for at least x3 months to remineralise my teeth and gums and get rid of infection.

i will never go back to conventional toothpaste. I have also changed my diet. I eat salads, make green juices, take vitamin d 4000 Iu and cod liver oil liquid X1 tbsp nearly every day.

You're the first person I've seen really use yogurt and I just figured that out last night!!! I had a tooth infection for over a week and nothing was working: I tried garlic. I tried coconut oil. I tried aloe mouth wash. I tried rinseing with warm salt water. I tried Apple cider vinegar. It still went on throbbing. THEN I thought to myself. Infection is caused by bacteria. Good bacteria fight bad bacteria. So I ate some yogurt. Some Greek yogurt at lunch and more at dinner. By bedtime my tooth felt better. Now the next day it feels completely healed. (I'm eating another Greek yogurt) as I type this. Maybe I'm crazy but I think the yogurt healed it! And it was the tastiest treatment of them all that's for sure. I heard there was a study once too that showed the people with the healthiest gums eat the most yogurt.

I use Food grade bentonite clay mixed with organic olive oil inside my mouth for tooth infections. I became a believer of bentonite when my son had a terrible rash that kept growing and no medicine would get rid of it. I used my homemade bentonite paste on it for about a week and a half and the whole thing went away. I had to keep applying it or the rash would start to grow back. So now I use it for everything!

Pyrogenium (Homeopathic Remedy)
Posted by Kaia (Bc, Canada) on 10/22/2017

Homeopathics work on both the physical level and the energetic level. The numbers 200C, 30C, 6X and so on do not represent the amount of material in the remedy. All homeopathic remedies are diluted. The lower the number, the less diluted it is. So a lower number, such as a 6X or a 30C will work on the physical issue, while a higher dilution such as 200C and above will work more on the emotional and energetic issues. Standard dosage is to take 1 dose (so one little pill is a dose) then wait 6 hrs, take another dose, wait 6 hours and take the final dose. So that's 3 doses. Then you wait to see if there is a change in the condition. If you feel that it's working, you actually stop taking it and ALLOW your body to do the rest. Homeopathics work to reset and start the healing process...it reignites the body's wisdom.

If you take a homeopathic, do the standard 3 doses and nothing seems to work, it's generally a sign that it's just the wrong remedy. If you take it and it exacerbates the situation, that's known as a proving and you need to stop the remedy and drink a strong cup of caffeinated coffee to stop the homeopathic or a strong cup of peppermint tea.

The ideal situation is to see a Homeopath as it is such a personalized form of holistic medicine.

I don't have insurance and that's how I landed here after being in severe pain that Excedrin wasn't touching for several days. Beginning Thursday, I started using remedies I found on Earth Clinic for an abscessed root.

First, I cut carbs out of my diet so the infection didn't have any sugar to fuel with. I also drank a ton of water, and brushed and flossed as normal. Every 6 hours, I rinsed my mouth out with warm salt water. Following that, I oil pulled for 10-15 minutes with either olive oil or coconut oil mixed with 1 drop of clove essential oil which numbed the ache. Then, I rinsed the excess from the oil pull with either a diluted hydrogen peroxide or diluted raw apple cider vinegar to remove any toxins. Following that, I peeled a clove of fresh garlic and crushed it on a plate, as I read it needs to be exposed to air for 10 minutes or so to activate the allicin. Then I would take that clove and bite it with the offending tooth as long as I could stand the burn before I swallowed it. I usually didn't get more than a few seconds in, I find garlic really irritating to my gums. Once a day, I also took a warm black tea bag and held it on my tooth for 30-45 minutes, before or after the garlic. I also applied ice as needed along my jaw. I felt pretty blind since my abscess wasn't visual, it was inside the tooth, and I was just guessing with all of this.

The first night I did all of this, I woke up after a couple of hours of sleep with a salty, garlicky, bitter liquid in my mouth which I believe was the abscess draining. The next day I felt more sharp pain upon contact with the tooth rather than the constant dull ache from before, but it got steadily better after that.

It's been a few days since I've been treating my tooth with all of these remedies and as I lay here on Saturday night, I have no pain and very little pressure, it's like it never happened. My pain easily went from a 9 to a 3 almost immediately upon starting my regimen above, and from a 3 to a 0 within a day or so more. I haven't taken a pain killer in over 12 hours for the first time in 8 days. I don't know which thing is the hero of the day or if it was the combo of things but I am almost as good as new.

Tooth Abscess:

Baking soda with coconut oil 50 /50 paste at bedtime, soaked into it all night and also take alpha lipoic acid.

Some frankinsense essential oil on outside of mouth, very little, 1-2 drops on back of hand and then rub around on mouth!

Bentonite Clay
Posted by Brandi (Norfolk) on 08/16/2017

I would do oil pulling with virgin, unrefined coconut oil and a strong saltwater solution made from either pink himalayan salts or Celtic salt to pull out infection. It sounds like your root is inflamed, may even be hitting a nerve, and you need to clear that infection before you can go further with the healing. Clay does work slowly, but it will help nourish your teeth and capture further toxins - but on a much smaller scale.

I have been led to bamboo tea/horsetail and comfrey root for additional healing, so perhaps this solution might resonate with you as well.

I have had an infection in my mouth for the last 2 weeks. Pain and swelling and I had tried everything to help pain on the first day...nothing I seemed to do was helping aspirin etc. A few days of pain and swelling and no sleep lead me to this site to find help to deal with my pain.

I found that ACV works great along with rinsing with salt water. Getting a good amount of rest and pray worked as well. My tooth infection is not 100% gone but with trying different home remedies I can say that the infection is almost gone and once I can afford it the bad teeth (which there are 3) are getting pulled.

This is one of the best remedies for tooth aches. It really works well. You take about a quarter of a tspn of activated charcoal and half of that of cayenne pepper and a few drops of pepperminnt oil into a small gauze. Fold the gauze with the ingredients and insert it on the side of the tooth. Keep it for at least 30 mins. or more and tooth aches and infections will be gone.

I have been using Organic Betonite Clay on outside of my face for an abscessed tooth. I have had x-rays on tooth, but it is normal, but dentist said it needs a root canal.. I have been down this road so many times with my teeth, and two previous root canals were pulled with horrendous problems, and am trying to heal this tooth this time on my own, especially where x-ray is normal. It is same pain as root canal, sometimes going down neck, etc. No swelling so far.

My question is, is it advisable to use the clay on the inside of the mouth, on gum where the pain is? I only feel pain if I touch on top of tooth or wash my face, as the sensitive area is next to my nose.. I have been using the clay on outside.

Also, is there anything that would be advised to add to the clay when putting inside of mouth? Thank you in advance.

kTylenol interrupts bone tear down and rebuild cycles and so your bones and teeth get weaker and more vulnerable to breaking . It also is bad for your liver health. Ibuprophen is bad for kidneys liver and intestinal health.

Alpha lipoic acid in vitamin isle helps with nerve pain and NAcetyl Cysteine makes it work stronger. 50 /50 baking soda and coconut oil knocks down dental pain as a paste at night and shrinks inflammation . Helps control abscess. You could also use activated charcoal at night as a poultice on the gums. Iodized salt rinses after meals. Ginger is excellent .

Bad teeth are a sign you aren't absorbing minerals from food. Try some kefir for gut health 1 TB. a day .

Call your local homeless shelter and find out if there are any free emergency services that could get the wisdoms pulled . Stay away from garlic if you are getting any teeth pulled it's a blood thinner.

Bless you, May the Lord, heal and restore your teeth, Charity

I have a history of horrible teeth.i have broken teeth, cavities, I need root canals and an impacted wisdom tooth. So you can only imagine the pain I have to endure sometimes. So recently my wisdom tooth was coming through. However its impacted so there is literally a slither poking through the gum and the pain and the infection was absolutely excruciating. I really just wanted to die. I cried for about 6 or 7 hrs. I had gone through and entire bottle of ibuprofen in 6 days and was working on Tylenol. I went to the hospital to get antibotics and what she prescribed me I couldnt afford. So I turned to natural remedies.

My friends, TUMERIC, TEA TREE OIL (TTO), SALT, GARLIC, AND CINNAMON.

ok so I brushed my teeth, flossed the infected areas (which I recommend flossing your entire mouth, itx just the pain was so bad I was in a rush) I apply 3-4 drops of tea tree oil directly to my gums and teeth. Making sure to get inbetween my teeth and I massaged. You should feel slight relief immediately. Not complete relief though. As I began salivating more I swished it around to get the tt oil working. T

he next thing I did (my sister in law swears by it and now so do i) is I took a piece of garlic clove and ran it under warm water and bite down on it in the infected area. I left it there for as long as I could handle. (l recommend 20-30min) Before removing it I chewed it up and then spit out and rinsed with warm water. Your pain should be a dull ache at this point.

I then made a mouthrinse of tumeric, salt, and tt oil. I rinsed and held it in the area for a couple mins. I then made a paste from cinnamon and applied it to the area for 10mins.

It may seem like over kill but my pain and infection was so bad I felt the need for extra measures. I continued rubbing tt oil throughout the day for several days even though it felt better just bcuz I wanted to make sure the infection was gone. I also did the same with the tumeric mouthwash and garlic. Treat this treatmeant as an antibiotic and continue for 7 to 10 days. I also recommend sipping on cinnamon water. Its simply warm water, cinnamon powder or sticks which ever, and a green tea bag. Sip.swish and enjoy. It works wonders for a tooth infection on top of the other treatment.

I hope this helps someone!

I have used clove oil several times for an infected tooth. I live in a very rural area, so there are no stores that carry clove oil. I mix ground cloves and canola oil to make a loose paste. I put the mixture on with a q-tip and within minutes the pain is gone. Usually the swelling along with the pain are gone in a few days after a few applications each day.

High Dose Vitamin C

Dental Abscess - High Dose Vitamin C in daily divided doses

Using 500 mg (what I had in the cabinet - ordinary low cost)

I took 2.5 grams first day by 1 500mg pill for 5 x day @ 8am noon 4pm 8pm midnite - next morning remarkable improvement with start of fistuala draining (already tried to lance abcess with pin the month before w nominal drainage) pimple-like process, pain and swelling down remarkably.

I doubled the dose for day 2. I took 5 grams on second day in divided doses, 2-500 mg pills per dose for 5 times (8am 12 4pm 8pm midnte) I woke up the next morning nearly 95% resolved. You could see the draining and I used my fingernail to direct it out. You need to remove this pus and this brought it to a head. Pain gone, doesn't hurt to eat on that tooth now, slightly noticeable. Swelling down immediately around tooth area but still swollen at the jaw/bone part.

3rd day - same as second. Extra insurance and I don't know if I will continue for 5 or 10 days yet, so I will reduce later dose and maintain a basic level for the future. At the end of the day, swelling done farther. The vitamin C is acting like an antibiotic. I know it needs to be taken on schedule and maintained at high levels for up to 10 days. So far so good. Very happy because it's basically gone in two days, but I want to make sure to get it all.

I am 5-5 at 112 lbs. This dosage did not hurt my stomach. I was compelled to jug water to get the pills down. I think it is important to drink water until you feel the pill go down your esophogas. This helps to keep it from dissolving in your throat which can cause acid reflux. With any pill that causes this I also eat about half of a bananna. It's a great buffer and helps push the pill down. Also, with vitamin c there is something call bowel tolerance. If the daily dosage you are taking causes nausea or diarreah, then lower the dose.

Note - I had already tried placing garlic on the tooth and abscess area. It worked. I did it once and after 5 days the infection was reduced after 1 15 min garlic treatment. It wasn't enough and it came back. (I never did the second round, learned this later that I should have done it again 5 days later) Yes, garlic did work as well, not as fast as Vitamin C dosing.

At this point, I am going to take advise on some of the other things I've read here. I will be applying vit E or Aloah topically in the mouth to help healing on the sore area. I will also add minerals to my supplements to help maintain or rebuild my teeth.

The reason I wrote this is because I want others to know that there are other options when your dentist tell you you need a root canal and crown and you don't have $3000.
