I went straight to ACV for Candida. I've never felt better! My sugar and caffeine cravings have been gone for over a year! I start each day with 1 tbsp ACV in a glass of warm/hot water and at night too for better sleep! I also add 2 tbsp of ACV to my regular bottled water with a couple packets of stevia. Tastes like lemon aid and gives me an afternoon boost.

Hi ORH...You're right that the hydrogen peroxide fizz -- let's call it the HP fizz -- happens when you have bacteria, fungus or viruses in your ears. HP kills them all and the fizz tells you that its happening. Same as when you put HP on an open, festering sore -- it will fizz and froth like crazy -- because its busy killing pathogens. And as you use this HP protocol more and more over time -- the fizzing gets less and less and that simply tells you that the pathogen numbers in the ears are going down.

To digress a wee bit, the middle ear is also connected to the throat by a small tube -- called the Eustachian tube -- which helps to equalize pressure in the middle ear. So this open narrow tube can also perhaps act as a secret and safe hide-away cave for bacteria, fungus, viruses. I'm explaining some reasons here why your flu or cold never goes away. That's because the virus might perhaps be hiding in that ear tube, untouched and unreachable, happily breeding away and dumping all their offspring continuously into your throat region.

Other places these pathogens can hide and breed safely, as I've described before, are in the sinuses, nose, ears, nasopharynx cavity(cavity directly behind the nose and above the throat) as well as in the lower intestines and in the joint and backbone synovial fluids.

To disinfect the upper body regions, as I've mentioned before, just put half a teaspoon of gum turpentine in your mouth, mix it with some spit and slowly breath in the turps vapours through your mouth and out through your nose. Do this for about 2 or 3 minutes. And if you don't breath the vapours slow and easy then you will almost certainly cough. The wonderful thing about this inhalation method is that you don't need a nebulizer and you don't need a fine mist sprayer. This inhaltion method should effectively help to disinfect the mouth, gums, bronchials, lungs, nasopharynx cavity, nose and sinuses. I've affectionately called this turps inhalation method "Taking the Vapours".

Regarding your local ear infection problems wrt your systemic candida issues, its also quite likely that any fungal skin or ear infections are just symptoms or expressions of the systemic candida that has infected your blood. But don't get disheartened -- just focus on eradicating the systemic candida in your body -- this is the most important part of the strategy. And once you get rid of the systemic candida, then all your skin probems and other "symptoms" will just fade away and disappear. That's what happened to me when I cured my systemic candida. My psoriasis, eczma, jock itch and 25 y o athletes foot(caused by galloping 'jungle rot' from my old army days) all disappeared on their own without a whimper and without any topical treatments at all.

As to your final question -- Am I making progress ? -- I think that you have more common sense than most doctors. Your own experience and your advice in helping other people on this site deserves acclaim. And whatever you decide to do, don't stop using your Rife machine. I have high respect particularly for Rife technology because it makes complete sense. The only drawback is that it can be a steep learning curve learning about all the frequencies and harmonics and such.

And if you like I'll email Ted and get the Rife frequencies that he uses for both candida fungus and blood cancer. Not promising he'll answer, he's a busy guy, but I'll let you know either way. Ted uses a Rife BCX Ultra.

Esophagus throat candida travels up into the face, ears and brain. This dangerous. That's why you had the ear problem. You must eliminate candida at a slower pass through out your body.to much die off will only plug your liver which will cause you more problems. Your liver can't filter all die off at once. Once a week, use 2 teaspoons of grey sea salt to one warm but not hot water1 cup of water. Stay home that day. It wil clean out the die off. You will poop possible 4 to 5 times your liver will be clear to filter more.

At last some believable independent research from PubMed on the useful action of Virgin Coconut Oil on candida.

I stumbled onto this research paper which duly confirms that a substance called D, L-2-hydroxyisocaproic acid (HICA) will act against candida in the following way: inhibits candida growth; inhibits and reduces biofilm formation; reduces the production of candida waste poisons like acetaldehyde; destroys candida hyphae; inhibits the mutagenicity(cancer forming) of candida waste poisons; reduces inflammation.

In case anyone is wondering what the heck D, L-2-hydroxyisocaproic acid is -- VCO contains caproic acid and D, L-2-hydroxyisocaproic acid is just an isomer of the same.

So what they are really talking about in this research paper is why VCO, which also contains caproic acid, is so hugely beneficial as a natural supplement when you have systemic candida problems. Notably, VCO also contains caprylic acid, lauric acid and myristic acid -- all with additional, wide-acting and significant action across many pathogen species as well.

"The ability of C. albicans to form biofilms is a major virulence factor and a challenge for management. This is evident in biofilm-associated chronic oral-oesophageal candidosis, which has been shown to be potentially carcinogenic in vivo. We have previously shown that most Candida spp. can produce significant levels of mutagenic acetaldehyde (ACH). ACH is also an important mediator of candidal biofilm formation. We have also reported that D, L-2-hydroxyisocaproic acid (HICA) significantly inhibits planktonic growth of C. albicans. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of HICA on C. albicans biofilm formation and ACH production in vitro. Inhibition of biofilm formation by HICA, analogous control compounds or caspofungin was measured using XTT to measure biofilm metabolic activity and PicoGreen as a marker of biomass. Biofilms were visualised by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). ACH levels were measured by gas chromatography. Transcriptional changes in the genes involved in ACH metabolism were measured using RT-qPCR. The mean metabolic activity and biomass of all pre-grown (4,24,48 h) biofilms were significantly reduced after exposure to HICA (p<0.05) with the largest reductions seen at acidic pH. Caspofungin was mainly active against biofilms pre-grown for 4 h at neutral pH. Mutagenic levels (>40 �M) of ACH were detected in 24 and 48 h biofilms at both pHs. Interestingly, no ACH production was detected from D-glucose in the presence of HICA at acidic pH (p<0.05). Expression of genes responsible for ACH catabolism was up-regulated by HICA but down-regulated by caspofungin. SEM showed aberrant hyphae and collapsed hyphal structures during incubation with HICA at acidic pH. We conclude that HICA has potential as an antifungal agent with ability to inhibit C. albicans cell growth and biofilm formation. HICA also significantly reduces the mutagenic potential of C. albicans biofilms, which may be important when treating bacterial-fungal biofilm infections. "

Iodine

Hi Cindy...The iodine you have is not strong enough. When you compare 1 drop of your iodine forte(150 micrograms of iodide) against 1 drop of 5% lugols iodine(6.25 mgs) then the one drop of lugols contains 41 times more iodine than one drop of Iodine Forte. This means that one drop of 5% Lugols Iodine equals 41 drops of Iodine Forte in terms of iodine content.

Also, you have the potassium iodide form which is certainly useful but not as useful as LI which contains all three forms of iodine in solution -- iodine, iodide and triiodide. Since your Iodine Forte is just potassium iodide it will therefore not have the same benefits as LI because it does not contain the other two forms -- iodine and triiodide -- in solution.

That's why it might perhaps be better and more effective to use Lugols Iodine. Also remember that you can use Iodoral if you wish which is just LI in a pill. You can find and order Iodoral easily on the internet.

If you have already bought the Iodine Forte I wouldn't throw it away -- you can still use it for other things.


Baking Soda

Pamela: Candida is not your disease, it's the effect of some other disease like parasitic infestation (very high risk for pet owners) or any number of pathogens that are the primary cause resulting in immune dysfunction.

I would recommend taking Oregano Oil extracts in the a.m. and garlic oil extract before retiring as a simple first step. An herbal parasite formula like "Black Walnut Complex" is advised. Also take 25-50 mg Zinc Citrate w/ 10, 000 iu Vit-A daily (this will boost immune function and protect the gut from invading pathogens. L-Glutamine will boost the immune cells in the intestines.

Start w/ this and continue for a few wks and if you don't see much good results fallow Bill's anti-candida protocol which is available in full version in his new book "Killing So Sweetly" or the truncated version here on E.C.

This is what gets rid of candida for me:

  • a wormwood combination product (from vitacost online) that contains wormwood, black walnut, cloves, quassia and male fern root.
  • white oak bark taken on an empty stomach with a digestive enzyme,
  • a really good probiotic (not one from your local drugstore)
  • super strength odorless garlic capsules

It's very important to keep your body alkaline and a fizzy alkalizer with potassium bicarbonate and natural alkalizers works a lot better than baking soda to do this. I buy a good one online from swanson's.

I must eat complex carbs for energy, and so I take these remedies when the candida gets bad.

The candida cleanser recommends a chitin synthesis inhibitor, n-fused strengthening the immune system, and candisol enzymes. Dr. Crook says avoid ferments, fruits, molasses, and brewers yeast. All of them make the mistake of condemning sugar. Low blood sugar and mycotoxins cause chronic fatigue and migraines. Everybody is missing the point that there is a balance between the 2 yeasts. They are underestimating the potency of God's Goodies that are raw whole foods and ferments. They are overestimating their narrowly focused plans. The complete solution is simple. Make home made water kefir to repopulate the gut with beneficial microbes, take alkalizing greens from whole foods like Hawaiian spirulina, chlorella, and green smoothies, and get sugar from raw honey, organic sucanet, and raw organic fruits. WORKED TEMPORARILY

I have what I believe to be severe candida. when I stay on a diet of no sugar, bread, pasta, dairy, fruit it will take weeks but I will start to feel better. After staying on the diet for months I feel good, so I think I am well right, so I start eating everything again, two months later - sick again. symptoms are as follows;
left eye burning stinging itching watering.
severe sugar cravings and hunger
blured vision
itching inside ears
very sleepy after I eat will fall asleep and wake up just feeling bad tired no energy
feeling of just feeling bad
Please help I want to get rid of this and feel good all the time. I know I have a blood sugar issue but my blood sugar is in normal range

Cloves for Candida: I have had very good results by adding a lot of ground cloves (spice) to my beverages and foods. While many other things also help candida, (biotic silver, probiotics, etc. ) I haven't seen too much information re cloves, so I thought I would share this. Cloves help to kill any parasite eggs within the body, also making them helpful in this regard as well.

They are powerful ways to get them into our system. I make sure I have some everyday. I know I have learned so much in regards to our health linked to our gut flora.

I want to encourage you to start making your own kefir. I know you'll reap the benefits. Where is the canned sauerkraut from? Is it homemade? The only sauerkraut in the mainstream grocery store that is truly probiotic is Bubbie's. Both that and their pickles and their green tomatoes. We always have these in our fridge. I drink the juice everyday as well. It's loaded with probiotics. Making your own fermented veggies is super easy too. Google Sandor Katz and you'll learn a lot from him.

Hi Timh... I'm very glad that you're feeling so much better. I quite enjoy reading your insights into your candida problems, not least because I believe that candida is still an unrecognized pandemic in the western world -- so we need all the information we can get to learn about this problem and the most honest way is through individual testamonials from people using alternative medicine.

Modern medicine still has no recognised method for accurately or consistently diagnosing or sufficiently treating systemic candida in the human body and getting rid of it for good. I've already said that doctors are completely infatuated with bacteria and viruses (from the Germ Theory's over-simplistic One germ -->One disease principle). So how do they successfully recognize and deal with multiple associated infections involving candida?

Unfortunately, they still have no cheap or accurate diagnostic procedures or tests that can successfully and accurately identify or treat candida associated problems like leaky gut, Crohn's, IBS, GERD etc that are also frequently found associated with candida. It's also well known from independent research that candida is frequently associated with other dangerous auto-immune diseases like cancer, Hepatitis, Fibromylagia, arthritis etc.

Time and time again here on EC I read about people who have a "mystery illness". They go to the doctor who then runs all the regular blood and urine tests and they are declared healthy -- but the patient still feels awful for some unknown ans undetermined reason. That's because the majority of doctors are solely geared to look for bacteria and viruses rather than fungus in the human body. Another prime example is when a woman goes to the doctor who then diagnoses her problem as uterine candida -- a recognized yeast/fungal disease. The doctor then prescribes antibiotics -- which only kills the associated bacteria -- and perhaps the candida goes away for a while. Then, one or two months later, the uterine candida comes back with a vengeance and the anti-biotics no longer work. Doctors have little understaning of the Antibiotic Syndrome and even less idea of what it takes to recognize and cure the more virulent forms of candida. Don't doctors know that antibiotics actually come from yeast/fungal strains? Don't doctors know that antibiotics ONLY kill bacterai (if your luck is in and the bacteria don't adjust to it) ? I'm completely flumoxed and amazed at the consistent and utter diagnostic stupidity of modern medicine with respect to fungal problems. I'm afraid that, in this respect, One germ --> One disease thinking just doesn't cut it for me.

Nystatin can be useful to clear candida from the gut but it also unfortunately ruins the beneficial microbiota bacteria in the gut as well. Nystatin frequently causes diarrhea and other problems. Nystatin is also very badly absorbed by the gut into the blood -- so would be of little use against the more virulent disseminated systemic candida form. Amphotericin A and Amphotericin B are similar well-used anti-fungals that tend to cause more awful side-effects and, as well, the candida fungus can easily hide or adjust to it like bacteria adjusting to antibiotics.

Both Hydorgen Peroxide and Lugols Iodine act to kill pathogens instantaneously by different methods. HP kills electrically and Iodine instantaneously dissolves the exposed tyrosine and histamine amino acid layers in the cell walls of the pathogen. The sheer speed with which both these substances kill pathogens is the prime determining factor because the pathogen -- whether its bacteria, virus or fungal -- has absolutely no chance of adjusting to it by reproducing a resistant strain.

I would like to share this story with you!

I've researched about Candida for quite a while in order to help my mum that has been suffering from Candida for about 25 years and it got worse and worse. She had to brush her tongue and her teeth several times a day, she also had Candida on her nails. Her digestion was bad, her energy was low, she was a rather negative person. She really suffered. I also need to tell you that many people with Candida should first get rid of their Amalgam teeth fillings and then divert it correctly (you'll find information about that online easily)

Desperate enough, she was willing to try something new with me being her "supervisor".

We did the following:

10-days green juice fast, strict diet and colon cleanse once a week

after those 10 days fasting she had to follow a very strict diet: No sugar, no alcohol, no carbos, no nuts, no animal products (besides once a week a small piece of meet or fish), no nuts and seeds, no RAW food, no artifical food products (like the "E's"), if possible organic. So in short, she has been eating mainly steamed or stired veggies with a sauce (oil or coconut milk or soy cream with lots of amazing spicies and herbs), avocado purée with lemon, salt and pepper for breaky or Hummus.

After one month Candida was reduced for about 40 to 50%.

The second month she was allowed a little more but only because we had really good results. Once a week she was allowed to eat: meat, fish, a glass of good wine. Every day she chose different carbos and ate them in small quantities (only eat a specific sort once a week max): brown rice, spelt, rye, quinoa, millet, corn (no wheat if poss).

After the second month she was an almost different person - spreading so much love and light!

She will have to continue another 3 to 4 month I guess. And she felt very weak in the beginning for about one month. It is a lot. But it is so worthwhile if you get to the point where everybody could be: feeling light, authentic, loving towards yourself and others... And she has become so easy-going, so relaxed;)

I used to buy tons of colloidal silver. If you buy online you could get for over 10 dollars. I make my own now. Buy 99.999 pure silver lods and buy battery. Go to radioshack and buy alligator clip. Connect to a glass cup. And use distilled water. And connect to the battery. Run for several hours. If you check internet there are tons of info and pics. You can make gallons for cost of a cent.. You will use this silver rods almost forever.

And Silver saved my mental health.. When you kill off candida, you will understand we are very intelligent beings who are actually calm.. I was anxious entire life. And there was a period time that I couldn't remember 3 sentences in a row. Now I can memorize pages no problem. :) I really think there is no other supplement cheaper and stronger than silver.. I know for some people money is issue. If so then dig here :)

Dear Gypsyangel, You are having a bit of a die off effect which is good. It means that your efforts are working and soon you will feel much better. It is very common with any yeast treatment. Keep up with the Baking soda and eventually the symptoms will start to go away.

Hi Wendy, I can only give my experience and observations. Many years ago I tried that theory out because some people I met were doing it and they said they were better for it. What I found was that I was very thirsty and it certainly did not improve my health in fact my eczema got worse and migraines came more often so I stopped. The people I knew who started this appeared to improve in health but all (and I mean everyone of them) did not keep their good health. My belief is that their health initially improved because they also dropped junk food and improved their diet. Most people did not stick with it. The few I knew who did got sick. The 2 that were the reason I gave it a try lived in pain with only minimal sleep and 1 died in their 60s the other lived another 10 years in severe pain till they died. These 2 lovely people started this when they were in their early forties. You should ask the nutritionists that are recommending this for examples of people who have been following this regime for 20 years.

For every clogged ear and nose problems, including runny or puffy nose, the answer is Bill Thompson's protocol: 4 drops of Lugol Iodine in filtered water and rinse your nose if needed twice a day until it is all cleared.

Just wanted to say thank you for writing back. I have tried almost every remedy on here for the past seven years, you name it I have tried it , researched, cross referenced , tried again. I have so much knowledge and have studies enough mycology reports to fill many of desks. I dont want this to be my life. Some things work some don't. I guess the most important thing to me in my life is my husband and this stuff has really taken up a lot of the creative space. I am a very strict eater and sometimes its easy and I know what to do but other times I worry because my husband is thin and a candida diet is hard to keep weight on him and carbs help with energy but are not aloud and protein is hard to digest and is acidic. I think clear when I have carbs and I feel stronger when I have protein but I don't very often anymore because of all the different answers. I just started Apple Cider Vinegar and baking soda and I am trying not to get my hopes up. I digress.. I am here to say thank you for your words.... Blessings

Hi Becky...If you have a fungal infection in the ear then this could just be an external symptom of systemic candida(infecting your blood). So you should continue with the anti-candida protocol.

You could also perhaps try using 1% solution of hydrogen peroxide. Fill a dropper with 1% HP and squirt it carefully and slowly into the infected ear. Tip your head and massage around the ear lightly and allow the HP to go deep into your ear passages. And yes, it will tickle and fizz which is proof enough that HP is killing the pathogens in your ear. If you can, keep the HP in your ear until the fizzing greatly reduces or stops. When you're finished just tip the HP out of your ear into the sink. You should use this protocol for both ears -- at least once a day until the infection disappears.

You should not really eat sweet fruit or honey of you have candida. Most sweet fruits contain fructose which is a favourite food for candida and other pathogens. So you should really try to avoid avoid sugar, carbohydrates and fruits as best you can if you have systemic candida issues.

You are also right -- I did eat fruit in the beginning when I took my protocol but eventually gave it up to good effect. Don't forget that was over 11 years ago -- I know a heck of alot more about candida now than I did all those years ago.

I must also admit that I do eat fruit now for breakfast depending on seasonal availability -- sometimes yellow mango or carabao mango, native pineapple (not Del Monte), pomelo (grandfather of the grapefruit), dalandan (small, sour native orange), rambutan (a bit like lychees), apple, lanzones, soursop (like graviola), grapes, calamansi (like small lime -- used in hot or cold sour drinks and dips), mangosteen, tamarind fruit(unprocessed), coconut water. Always fresh and never in excess.

For cures, i strongly recommend both quitting smoking and balancing the omega 3 to omega 6 ratio, especially in regards to curing candida. Candida thrives in a low oxygen system, and i realized this meant smoking after a year of trying everything on this site to no avail. i quit smoking weed and my symptoms stopped very quickly. after that, i still wasn't myself, and balancing my omegas 3 and 6 to becoming a 1:1 ratio brought me back to my old self. i have a theory that weed becomes far more desirable when one has candida, as after it has gone away, i can resist cravings alot easier, but this is the same for everything regarding candida that happens to help it flourish. the omega thing i was very surprised not to find on this site, but i found that when i was researching peanuts/mold/carcinogens and i read another reason why peanuts were bad were because of their high level of omega 6. that lead me to find out that having the "normal" american balance of 20:1 omega6: omega3 is linked to.... SURPRISE! all the symptoms of candida. anyway, just a thought. i will write a report on your site of my experience as soon as summer comes into full swing and i have time. obviously the state of this email dictates that i don't have it, but please if you can add these sections so i can be the first to add my experience. if i helped one person through the struggles i went through, it would give me comfort for the other couple billion too wrapped up in their own world and or symptoms to realize that they could be better off.

ps. I am going to college at uc merced in california, and it is a very terrible situation here. this is major farmland, and student after student i have talked to has agreed that their freshman year here was medically the most miserable year of their lives. i believe this is because of the pesticides, factories, and sudden breakfast/lunch/dinner fast food plan every student is forced into by the university. there is something called the "freshman fifty" which dictates that some freshman have gained up to fifty pounds their first year on campus. my generation is really headed into dark times if the medical industry doesn't fix itself soon. i personally want to devote my life to that change (my dads a doctor and have witnessed the effect of capitol ism on the medical industry my whole life to much disgust even before celiac disease, candida, mcs, adhd cfs and so on struck in my late teens) but i have no idea what direction to take career wise as i would rather be a part of the big change than just being a practitioner helping with individual cases.

Addrienne from Chicago: I see you have the same question I do. I take ACV and I am trying to make my daughter take it as well for her candida symptoms but that's her argument; that she is not supposed to ingest vinegar. Well I have google ACV for candida and it is a big yes! Here is a copy of one the sites I went:

The recommendation to avoid fermented foods and vinegar in order to cure candida is misleading. I believe it comes from the desire to avoid moldy foods and fermented yeasty beverages like beer and wine.
Mold aggravates candida symptoms and alcohol is a yeast fermentation product, where, in some cases, yeasts can still be present in the beverage. Some people feel it's best to avoid yeast in any form when following a candida diet (but that's for another page altogether).

Alcohol is a waste product of yeasts eating sugar. The reason it's best to avoid alcohol when doing a natural candida cure diet is because the candida yeasts excrete alcohol as a byproduct of sugar metabolism, which contribute to the feelings of brain fog, lack of coordination, fatigue and muscle weakness. We don't want to add even more alcohol to a body which is already a little "drunk".

Note: That's why my candida recipes are all low carbohydrate; carbohydrates are sugars. Sugars feed candida. Candida produces alcohol as a waste product of eating the sugars.

Alcohol and vinegar both go through a fermentation process, in fact, vinegar is made from alcohol!

But they're not the same. Just as mold and naturally fermented sauerkraut are quite different from each other.

In very simplified terms - Wine is made from fruit juice which has undergone a yeast fermentation, where the yeasts ferment the sugars into alcohol. Making vinegar from wine involves another fermentation process, called acetobacter fermentation. Acetobacter is a kind of bacteria which converts alcohol into acetic acid (the major component in vinegar).

By the time something has been fermented into vinegar, there are no more yeasts or sugars to worry about.

Along the same fermentation lines as apple cider vinegar (and therefore similar in its benefits) is sauerkraut that has been fermented by lactic acid bacteria. Cabbage is one of the easiest vegetables to ferment, as its naturally loaded with lactic acid bacteria.

Sauerkraut is sour because the bacteria has fermented the sugars in the cabbage. It's the same reason vinegar tastes sour. Fermented foods like vinegar and sauerkraut are not at all like wine, beer, or mold.

Stay away from mold whenever possible."

It is GREAT for the body and for candida... Work up to 1/4 cup three times a day along with kelp, echinacia, and plenty of fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, protein and healthy fats!

Also try FERMENTED rice vinegar... It is great too because it is a PREBIOTIC like ACV, oat bran, wheat bran, flax seed, chia, etc. You need plenty PREBIOTICS to rebuild good bacteria to fight off candida and other diseases.

Betty - Even though I would never consume my own urine, it is my belief that if this therapy helps people I have no right to criticize their choice. By the way, the main ingredient of the estrogen replacement thereapy drug Premarin is urine, hence the name Premarin comes from PREgnant MARes uRINe. That has never been a secret. Also, urea (derived from urine) is often listed as an ingredient in cosmetics.

Please don't criticize a wonderful website because you find one therapy disgusting. Many people have been helped with advice from all over the world for their various ailments.

TRUST ME, THIS IS ABOUT CANDIDA...

I didn't get over my illness until:

1) I discovered that I had been living with intestinal parasites. My physicians didn't believe that I was ill at all. They didn't want to waste their time and resources testing, don't you know. I was so happy to have them *diagnose* the animalia I presented to them in a box.

(a) the parasites, worms, protected themselves by secreting a biofilm which is both immunomodulating and immunosuppressing. Do you honestly believe my physicians knew / told me that?

2) My physicians explained, (ie., LIED), to me and explained that I had "IBS". Try googling the two words: "IBS" and "TRASHCAN DIAGNOSIS".

(a) "IBS" is a catch all *syndrome* which physicians use to substitute for real medical diagnosis, given that they do not have the time, inclination, energy or desire to solve your health problems for you. They have other things to think about.

3) Once I discovered, after nearly two decades of living in a near constant state of hopelessness, that there was an alternative, legitimate community of health care providers known as alternative, holistic, integrative and herbal medicine, I decided to take the initial plunge into the world of colon hydrotherapy.

(a) This felt great.

4) I went on a candida free diet. I went to an alternative health clinic. I paid $40 for a refrigerated, very fine grain powder, mycostatin. In 3 weeks, I was 85% better. I can now eat fruit, veggies, grains, eggs, etc.,. I had not eaten these things in over a decade. How awful is that!

5) I returned to my HMO with the good news. They were upset. Pissed off even. They couldn't believe that I would BETRAY them like that! How dare I go outside of my HMO! I had gotten off their hook!

(a) I visited a gastroenterologist at my HMO, for kicks. I asked him to take a look at the word, nystatin, which is the generic form of mycostatin. He had never heard of it before but he was willing to do what I asked. It turns out, my HMO's database stated that NYSTATIN WAS INDICATED IN THE TREATMENT OF IBS. Funny thing is, nystatin is a broad spectrum antifungal. And very, very few doctors in mainstream medicine are using it to treat IBS. I met a woman suffering from the same thing I had. She gave me the name of her gastroenterologist. Same dude. I asked her if he had given her a prescription for nystatin. She told me, "No, what is that!"

And so it goes...

Xylitol, Bentonite Clay

Hello, I would like to share my cure. I had candida overgrowth for many years, due to too much penicillin and antibiotics when I was young. I had very bad yeast infections. I found xylitol and began using it in large doses, probably about 1/4 cup per day, which had a laxative effect. Immediately, I felt a lot better, but not 100%. Then I cleansed my intestines with bentonite - the candida sticks to the walls of the intestines, so the bentonite removes it, so it can't keep growing. Meanwhile, I was still eating xylitol, either by itself, or with recipes. Then I used a lot of acidophilus, and eventually, after about 6 months, I had no re-occurences. What relief! I might mention that I have written about this on another large health website, and some people reported headaches from the xylitol, due to alcohol content. Hope this helps someone.

hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone knows what Dr Atkins recommended to cure candida, I in 2009 went n the atkins diet and followed it to a T, but lost no weight I wrote them and he asked me if I had athletes feet and I said yes I do, He told me that it was a form of candida (yeast infection). And he said I should start taking gatlic, a probiotic rich was one f the few that needed to be refrigerated abd the third I dont remember but after I took those 3 things my athletes feet disappeared and I lost 60 pounds in 3 months. so if anyone knows that 3rd ingredient I would love to know

I read about Coconut oil on this site and went to my local health store to ask if they had any. They said no, but they suggested I take caprylic acid, which is in coconut oil and helps cure yeast overgrowth. I purchased it to help cure my athlete's foot and stomach discomfort.

I purchased it and I took one 350MG tablet daily as per directions. It did not cure my athlete's foot like I wanted, but I felt less hungry, less tired, and my stomach felt better. I also lost weight without serious effort. I've been taking it for two months now.

Warning: I experienced two things while taking this: stomach discomfort and a slightly yeasty odor coming from my body for a week or two.

The yeasty smell rubbed off on my washcloth and towels. I discovered by accident that putting a capful of hydrogen peroxide (the regular kind from the pharmacy, not the food grade kind) in my bathwater stopped this. It stopped me from emitting the yeasty smell and from transferring it to my wash cloth and towels.

My partner had a course of antibiotics and within days had a white coating on his tongue which I instantly recognised as candida. I had had systemic candida a few years before and wished I had known then what I know now about the illness. I cured my candida after two years of feeling like death with oregano oil. I have been having a lot of different problems that have taken years to get to this point. So, this last 6 months or so I have been trying to heal myself naturally. I started by becoming a lacto-ovo vegetarian in April. I have stopped drinking diet drinks and started walking a mile a day as well as doing yoga 3 times a week. All this gave me a better frame of mind but didn't heal my body. I started looking on the internet to find a cure for all my problems. My main problem is yeast. I started getting ringworms, nail fungus, then very dry skin especially on my head, started loosing hair, achy joints, long heavy periods and discharge. I first looked at the thyroid and started a 21 day cleanse for my liver and colon. In looking at all the different things that can be affected by yeast I knew that is what I had in excess amounts.

YEAST OVERLOAD IS MY PERSONAL DIAC-NOSIS. I found this site Thursday and read all day from others and THEIR PROBLEMS. I started Friday with the spit in the glass test and to my amazement strings INSTANTLY streaked to the bottom of the glass. I started the oil pull THEN being Thursday morning. I did the lime and baking soda that day. As I was doing the pull I started getting a headache across my brow and down into my ears. This lasted all day Thursday.

Friday: That day I really started feeling bad. I had a pain under my shoulder blades that traveled my back into my kidneys down the butt on to my knees. I got chilled stayed covered all day and napped 3 times. Heavy head. Slept poorly. Saturday: This time the pain was in the ovary area. I ached all day. Heavy head. Slept poorly. Monday:aches on right side in kidney area off and on. Head better. Slept slightly better.

Most docs and patients who have used this program have put a considerable dent in their Candida Infections in 30 days without the problem of compliance to a restrictive diet. The program will work regardless of what you're eating!

I vote Yea! The comments posted for this one intrigued me to do some more research on cream of tartar. Here's what I found. Cream of Tartar is NOT the same thing as Tartaric Acid - although some try to use the names synonymously.

The technical name for Cream of tartar is potassium bitartrate which is not exactly the same as straight tartaric acid. It is formed during the cold stabilization process in wine making and happens when the potassium that naturally occurs in grapes binds with the tartaric acid which also naturally occurs in grapes. Thus diluting (neutralizing) the tartaric acid and making a white crystalline substance called potassium bitartrate.

Let's also note that cream of tartar is a food grade substance which is regulated by the US FDA. It is widely used in baking, as well as some sodas and lots of other foods. If it were that toxic to the consumer, I sincerely doubt the Food and Drug Administration would allow it to be freely used in foods available to everyone!

I had a very bad case of Candida last winter. It was extremely harsh. My crotch and butt were itchy and sometimes burned, my mood was agitated, I was suffering from insomnia. To finally get rid of the ailment, I went on a sugar-free diet and took some medication from my doctor. This was great. It killed all the candida within days. My problem then became a severe flu, as my body was not getting rid of the dead candida fast enough. My body was basically experiencing toxic shock. I took tons of fiber, drank gallons of water over several days. This finally made me feel better. Now, I just take Grapefruit seed extract in water every few days to keep the candida at bay. It is very effective at eliminating candida after it has set in as well, but you should take a diuretic to get the dead candida out of you. For candida, take 5-6 drops of GSE in 20oz of water. Drink in one sitting. Do this once each day for 3 days. May cause heartburn. If so, water down the dosage or use fewer drops (3-4).


Candida and pH

Very few people, except maybe doctors, know that candida albicans grows when your body's pH is acid and therefore, it makes for feasibility of taking baking soda to raise your body's pH but also using some potassium carbonate to further raise the pH as a means of killing Candida albicans appears to be quite feasible.

Candida albicans optimum growth pH is a 4, but it can grow between pH 3 - 7, however most hospital's antiseptic is usually acid which makes it rather ineffective in the killing and the spread of candida albicans. The research below also implies that taking digestive enzymes supplements will also destroy the candida also. Ted

I would like to say that there are a lot of myths about candida. For one, they say vinegar is bad. I did a lot of research and found out that VINEGAR KILLS YEAST/MOLD, as per a scientific study. I wrote to the doctor who did the study. He used red wine vinegar and it killed over 90 percent of mold and mildew. Second, I now found that there is a candida antibody titer test that will medically determine via blood tests whether or not you have candida. I will post again after I go through the regimen my new doctor, who did the antibody test, recommends. I'll let you know how it goes.

It isn't appropriate to add up the dosage over a two week period like this. Lethal Dose information informs how much is deadly if taken in one sitting. It certainly does not inform you how much can be taken over consecutive days, let alone a two week period.

I could quite safely drink 3 glasses of wine a day over 2 weeks. However if I drank all that alcohol in one sitting I would certainly die. Even the meat we consume over two weeks would cause death from protein poisoning if we were to eat it all at once (yes, there really is such a thing as protein poisoning).
