I am now still in early stages of using H2O2, so am avidly reading the entries for Candida.

For herpes, I was clued into l-lysine some years ago, and it is great. Foods high in L-lysine are listed on the internet, and also foods high in arginine, which is in chocolate, nuts, popcorn, brown rice and other foods. Arginine is used in labs to GROW the Herpes virus, so those chocolate and nut snacks can give you an attack! I have purchased l-lysine over the internet and also at some grocers and health food stores, and just keep it handy. Often when I want to eat some chocolate, I pop some l-lysine soon after and no problem. It is a harmless amino acid and resets the balance in your system.

Candex is very good for Candida but so expensive, I am happily taking the H2O2 and wanted to check increasing the dosage from 8 drops in an 8 oz glass of water 3X a day and here is all this information for me! My Mother and Grandmother died young of breast cancer and I began researching things that cure cancer as I realize the AMA is not chock full of 100% doctors, and found ESSIAC. The herbs can be purchased pre-measured from the Herb Products Company in Hollywood. I am 62, teach yoga and breathing techniques, doing them myself daily and am very healthy!

About 10 years ago now I was having regular, severe bouts of vaginal yeast infections, seeming to coincide with my cycle. Then I began experiencing numbness and tingling, first in my hands and feet, then my lips and tongue, then pretty much everywhere! Doctors had no answers for me and any "solution" they suggested would have been worse than my condition. One day I was in a health food store, and noticed that the symptoms for systemic candida were identical to what I had been experiencing. The book also said that caprylic acid killed yeast, so I bought some right away and the yeast infections stopped and the numbness and tingling went away gradually. However, I didn't take probiotics at first, and I did have some reoccurence of symptoms when I couldn't get caprylic acid, so I began taking an enteric-coated probiotic blend (which ensured that it maked it through the stomach acid to where it was needed in my lower tract). Caprylic acid has a rather nasty burp aftertaste (a little food to chase it down helps) so I much prefer the probiotics and have been symptom-free for many years now.

I have been struggling with Candida for over 12 years, and in the past five have found some items that help me considerably. (Yes, they will be described as products, although the breakdown of ingredience could be researched more) I found a Naturopath and he had been working with Candida patience for 25 years. I had large cystic acne on my face and chin line only, and had been struggling with the cysts once I started a yeast free diet in my late twenties. I also was having lower back pain that would wake me up from 4-5 a.m. (I found out it was also related to the Candida die-off or growth. This back pain went away once I got on a diet that worked for me.) I also, found I had developed allergies to food once I started to kill off the yeast, and probably had/have leaky gut. I did muscle testing on some food products, which the doctor told me was only 85 percent accurate, and at that point I didn't care. I was at the end of my rope fighting yeast and living with large boils of puss exploding from my face.

I began to avoid the food that was suggested, but I also began to take supplements, we increased some and decreased others. I will tell you I was tired and defeated and just wanted a normal life back, so this is my story of what worked for me.

I have a lot of metal fillings in my teeth, so there was a thought of possible mercury sensitivity, and yes they wanted me to get the filling replaced, but I couldn't afford it. There was also the mention that the yeast encircles heavy metals safely eliminating them from your body. I started my morning with a glass of water and a drop (starting at one and increasing to five) of liquid Selenium. I found this made a large difference in either the "fog" from the dye-off or the general Candida feeling. I was more alert and awake, my energy level increased from taking this.

I was tested with a lower thyroid by taking my temperature every morning. My doctor suggested taking edible Iodine. I also took this in water after my Selenium, 2 drops twice a day, or I just did four in the morning.

I was to avoid the food I was tested to not respond well too, and that included for me, wheat, gluten, dairy, chocolate, coffee, beef and pork. I didn't even look at sugar items at this point, and had been doing low-carb diets for sometime now. So I was allowed to included red potatoes and brown rice, lots of leafy greens(twice a day if possible), non-starchy veggies, and the rest I filled in with protein, nuts, and on special occasions berries (raspberries or blueberries)

If I was to advise someone on a product it would be the Tanalbit I took. I took it twice a day before lunch and dinner, two tablets each time. There is another version of it I took that had no dairy, starts with a C. It's a type of Zinc. I also tried taking Zinc supplements but everything I took made me nauseous. The only one I found that could stay down was Optizinc, probably the type or compound. I took pro-biotics an hour after each meal.

Those items helped me most of all. Also taking a very good food based vitamin to make sure I was covered. I was successful for a few years and then decided I wanted to taste some of the sweet life again. I still keep up with the Zinc and Pro-biotics, but I'm now back on the diet working to get rid of some nail fungus. I'm taking Oregano oil for 6 weeks to see how it goes, on top of using the topical remedies I've read from your site here.

Just wanted to share what has helped and worked for me. Thank you, and just to let you know, there is life after Candida... just keep at it, the fog will lift and your head will seem clearer again!

Acid Reflux - Sinus Infection - Sore Throat - Acidophilus -- Based on personal experience the Polish Girl has it right, it's the diet. Dump the yeasty carbohydrate sugary stuff. After a sore throat that lasted a few months with several different diagnoses and antibiotics, health practitioner said most people really suffering from too much yeast in system which causes a huge variety of illnesses. Change the diet to starve/kill yeast in system now. Yeast thrives on sugar, sweets, fruits, carbs, and of course bread, pasta.

For 3 months my husband and I ate nothing but veggies and meat. Cut the wine and beer from diet too. Also took supplements that rid the body of fungus as well as very strong acidophilus.

Winthin one week, sore throat was gone.

2 Weeks - acid reflux disappeared completely (yay no more prilosec). Sore arthritic feeling knees stopped.

3 or 4 weeks - husband and i who suffer sinus infections frequently quit sneezing, coughing, etc. No more sinus infections for either of us.

3 years later - unfortunately I quit the diet because of pregnancy and dr. advised it would be bad for baby. Now sore knees and throat are back, and now have MRSA. With a lot of the cures here dealing with toxin cleansing etc. I wonder if yeast helps breed the MRSA?? Unfortunately, when I tell friends of my miracle cure when they are ill, their response is 'i could never change my diet that drastically' and they continue seeking that quick fix. Our forefathers had it right -- "You are what you eat".

Concerning Nail Fungus, Candida and Yeast Growth. Being a man and having candida for over 12 years has been a 3esearch project for natural cures.I have come into contact with hundreds of people, men and women that are living with the result of what I now believe is very curable disease or imbalance. Yes I have treated the result of the internal problem, PH INBALANCE (TOO ACIDIC), NEED FOR COLON AND INTESTINTAL AND KIDNEY CLEANSING. I do not sell anything. I am going to tell my little story that you may relate too.
First , I am a 53 year old white male that has eaten health food almost consistently since he was 20. About 12 years ago I started getting terrible yellow mucus in my throat where I had to spit up all the time with a constant cough. I figured that I had an infection so after a month when it did not go away I went to my doctor of over 20 years and was given antibiotics. I took them and for a few days after, it cleaned up and with a mucus shot to dry me up the coughing stopped too.Unfortunately a week later it came back. So I went back and got a refill and did this for the next year or two with the same results. One day at a health food store, I asked the owner, what should I do? She said it sounds like you have a wheat allergy. I stopped eating wheat right away and the after about 2 weeks the heavy yellow mucus and caughing stopped. It is really heard to not eat any wheat products and heavy yeast products, like beer, especially what beer. (I play a lot of hockey). Anyway I started taking Yeast-Cleanse from Solaray with Caprylic Acid, Pau Darco and Tea Tree Oil, garlic and grapfruit in it and other vitamins. This mixture also helps the pH balance in your system, helping it balance to a pH(potential of hydrogen) 6.5 to 7.5. To acidic would be below and to alkaline would be over. Well since this last been a too long uncovering of information , the next year I got eczema, psorias too. Which I still have today. I also got bad nail fungus three years ago which I finally got rid of in the last month. Well to tell all of you that I know what has worked the best wouldn't be true but I know that Yin/Yang ph balance is a very big part of it. Wheat allergies are too. The wheat that the the Egyptians harvested is not at all the same wheat that we get. Unfortunately so many foods have been altered for profits. Nothing wrong with profits but people over profits please. So what am I doing right now that is effective , whell of of it and putting in the information that I get from others to get rid of the last remains of my dis-ease. Trying to not eat much dairy, no wheat, internal cleansing, enemas, yeast cleanse from Solaray ( no I am not a rep.) putting hydrogen peroxide , tea tree oil and garlic on the ecxema and psoriasis and trying to stay ph balanced. Heavy Metal Detox

Before you jump into curing your candida, try to figure out the unlying cause first. I have been trying different candida remedies...oil of oregano, parasite cleanses, cleaning up my diet...and I still suffer from all the terrible symptoms. One day I started reading out metal toxicity and how candida is farmed by the body to absorb the extra metal. So I decided to order an oral chelation kit for metal detox and something interesting has happened since. I have been on the program for about two weeks with no major physical improvements. But this morning I went to have my bi-monthly colonic and the lady who administers noticed that a LOT of yeast was coming out of my body! I do believe the metal detox is helping and the yeast is dying. Since then I have been feeling better today...more energy, slightly clearer head, and NO insane sugar cravings. If you have metal fillings like I do then you may want to seriously consider doing a metal detox and see if that helps with the candida. I plan to have my metal fillings removed when I have the money to do so. And make sure you get a good oral chelation kit, not just a cheap bottle of EDTA. Do your research...you need a good combination of other herbs as well to do a successful detox as well as a digestible antioxidant formula.

Dear Karl: Yes, I have looked on that issue for many years and for me it has always left me in the gray area, or one that I prefer not to recommend. It must be noted that it is with great pains that I not use this, despite many temptations. Why I am never tempted there are many reasons.

Of course you are free to try the remedy and I might be wrong. However, let's look at some of my complaints on such use.

If I have a choice between cream of tartar and potassium bicarbonate, I would choose potassium bicarbonate (and baking soda) for the candida problems. Another form of potassium is potassium citrate, which is free of the problems also. However, people whose body are high in nitrates (and I know because I had experience with this), they can sensitize to too much potassium, causing heart beat problems. At least this is my experience. A safer form is the citrate, or sodium citrate, which is superior than the baking soda. Basically sodium citrate is nothing more than citric acid mixed with baking soda, until pH reaches 8.0, in which case the resultant reaction in a water solution, will yield a sodium citrate. As a simple home remedy, it is a lemon and baking soda formula. If you simply wanted more citrate, than its likely to be a more baking soda is added than the original one which were (8 teaspoon of lime plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda) to be a pH of about 7.5.

Also, I could not confirm the original source of information of Dr. Tom Revis, other than that one quote that it was taken.

The other problem I have is the acid pH of the initial solution, which is taken to be about 3.5. It's the same problem I had with apple cider vinegar, which must be neutralized to a basically more neutral solution to a pH of 7, otherwise you get burning sensation of the esophagus at pH below 7.

The other issue is that when we prepare the growth of a yeast medium culture (which I might be wrong, but candida is yeast too), one patents uses (Nitrate reductase from yeasts, the preparation and use thereof Document Type and Number: United States Patent 5294539):

3. An NAD(P)H-dependent nitrate reductase according to claim 1, wherein the synthetic nutrient medium contains essentially:

0.04 g/l m-inositol, 1.0 g/l potassium dihydrogen phosphate, 1.0 g/l magnesium sulfate, 4.5 g/l potassium hydrogen tartrate, 1.5 g/l potassium nitrate, and 20.0 g/l glucose.

The cream of tartar is the potassium hydrogen tartrate (other synonyms are potassium hydrogen tartrate cream of tartar, potassium acid tartrate, monopotassium tartrate and potassium bitartrate).

Also in autistics and certain people with a problem of leaky gut, it was found that tartrate to be high and would be toxic to them. While it is true that tartrate is part of the Kreb's cycle, it is also true of citrate, acetates, and malates. The most results of energy increase, and hence, the immune system appears to be the acetates and the malates. While my own experience in achieving superior soda loading (a term atheletes used to achieve lower lactic acidosis), involves either or both maintaining a stable alkaline pH, or getting cells rid of the lactic acid. Now, maintaining alkaline pH, I found that citrates work better than bicarbonates in general. While the body rids of lactic acidosis best with acetate. The problem about acetate use is it won't achieve effective alkalization as with the citrates. So in my opinion the citrates and acetates are preferred to raise the immune system best. As to the problem of tartrates many people with bacteria, or toxins, the bacteria or other organism tends to produce too much tartrates, causing the body to be in excess of tartrate whenever people do get sick. This is especially true of leaky gut syndrome and autistics. A small study attached, below on autistics can be read for your perusal. There are many others.

A book excerpts on tartaric acid (from http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/bookstore/autism.asp#biologicalTretments )is as follows:

"A toxicology manual (3) indicates that tartaric acid is a highly toxic substance. As little as 12 g has caused human fatality with death occurring from 12 hours to 9 days after ingestion. Gastrointestinal symptoms were marked (violent vomiting and diarrhea, abdominal pain, thirst) and followed by cardiovascular collapse and/or acute renal failure(3). A gram is approximately the weight of a cigarette. This compound especially damages the muscles and the kidney (4,5) and may even cause fatal human nephropathy (kidney damage) (6) which was of interest to me since the two brothers with autism initially evaluated had the extreme muscle weakness as well as evidence of impaired renal function."

One more problem is the level of tartaric acid in autistics is so high that it reaches toxic levels in autistics. The problem about this autistics quite often get yeast infections, whether they are candida albicans or not I don't know. And yeast infections as a result have high heavy metals.

Tartaric acid is not recommended for people with either chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia. It decreases the malic acid, and reduces the energy levels. Again if you don't believe me, here is a quote, source (http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/book/bk5sect2.html):

"A large percentage of patients with the disorder fibromyalgia who have high amounts of tartaric acid in the urine respond favorably to treatment with malic acid (11-13). I presume that supplements of malic acid are able to overcome the toxic effects of tartaric acid by supplying deficient malic acid. Fifty percent of patients with fibromyalgia who also frequently have elevated yeast metabolites also suffer from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) even though their diet may have adequate or even excessive sugar(14). The reason may be due to the inhibition of the Krebs cycle by tartaric acid. The Krebs cycle is the main provider of raw materials such as malic acid that can be converted to blood sugar (Figure 6) when the body uses up its supply. (The technical name for this process is gluconeogenesis or "new formation of glucose".) If sufficient malic acid cannot be produced, the body cannot produce the sugar glucose which is the main fuel for the brain. The person with hypoglycemia feels weak and their thinking is foggy because there is insufficient fuel for their brain. If adults with elevated values of tartaric acid in the urine have foggy thinking, have little energy, and are so depressed that they may seek out Dr. Kevorkian, imagine what a young child who has some of the same toxins and who has yet to form a clear concept of the world must feel like."

One other that is not mentioned is heart palpitations, diarrhea, excess sweating, and fainting more likely I think from the excess use of potassium than anything else as this basically skews your blood biochemistry and it is a waste product of yeast.

Warning

I very much appreciated the toxicity information listed under cream of tartar in the cures for candida section. I even wonder if I already have damage from using it before (in much lower doses than suggested here, and for arthritis).

My favorite remedy for candida is Huang Lian Su, a chinese herb available at Chinese pharmancies, but not where I am currently living, which brought me to your site. I did take some GSE--grapefruit seed extract--before heading to the grocery to get other remedies to try, and realized as I was shopping, that the symptoms were already subsiding. So GSE might be at the top of my new list of favorite helps for candida.

The toxicity issues around cream of tartar as documented in the "nay" article were very surprizing, and I will never use it again. The levels recommended by someone else posting on this page sound potentially extremely damaging, when compared with the information that follows in that entry. I hope you will remove the suggestion of cream of tartar as a remedy given the extreme hazzards, and the poor public awareness of these hazzards.

I vote Yea! The comments posted for this one intrigued me to do some more research on cream of tartar. Here's what I found. Cream of Tartar is NOT the same thing as Tartaric Acid - although some try to use the names synonymously.

The technical name for Cream of tartar is potassium bitartrate which is not exactly the same as straight tartaric acid. It is formed during the cold stabilization process in wine making and happens when the potassium that naturally occurs in grapes binds with the tartaric acid which also naturally occurs in grapes. Thus diluting (neutralizing) the tartaric acid and making a white crystalline substance called potassium bitartrate.

Let's also note that cream of tartar is a food grade substance which is regulated by the US FDA. It is widely used in baking, as well as some sodas and lots of other foods. If it were that toxic to the consumer, I sincerely doubt the Food and Drug Administration would allow it to be freely used in foods available to everyone!

Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)

It has been known in academic circles for sometime that vitamin B3 in the form of niacinamide (non-flushing) is relatively toxic to yeast. A scientist found several years ago and concluded (wrongly) that taking vitamin B3 niacinamide will shorten your lifespan or longevity, through suppressing the SIR2 silencing gene, which is responsible for longevity.

As a result of this little misinformation, people stopped taking niacinamide and candida and yeast infections skyrocketed. Now the reason for the mistake was relatively simple, the scientist was apparently doing a study on longevity on yeast cells. Apparently in higher animals, fruit flies included, the effect of adding niacinamide resulted in longer life of 15%, as well as human embryo cells.

Therefore, if you have candida, yeast infection, or possibly even a UTI (urinary tract infection), taking niacinamide between 100-500 mg/day could solve this mystery that doctors have a hard time suppressing. In fact, you can expand this idea into applying the use of niacinamide NOT NIACIN, as a means of controlling fungus, since fungus is a relatively close cousin of the yeast also.

This is interesting, since in medicine the two most hardest organism to kill is actually fungus and yeast. It is almost a death sentence if you have this and getting rid of it may mean endless nightmare. Who knows, perhaps dissolving niacinamide with vinegar will be helpful in relieving your toe nail fungus infections.

Therefore a possibility exists from the point of view of biological terrain, candida, yeast and fungus infection is a form of niacinamide deficiency.

I would like to say that there are a lot of myths about candida. For one, they say vinegar is bad. I did a lot of research and found out that VINEGAR KILLS YEAST/MOLD, as per a scientific study. I wrote to the doctor who did the study. He used red wine vinegar and it killed over 90 percent of mold and mildew. Second, I now found that there is a candida antibody titer test that will medically determine via blood tests whether or not you have candida. I will post again after I go through the regimen my new doctor, who did the antibody test, recommends. I'll let you know how it goes.

Boric Acid

They sell a natural bacterial vaginosis remedy in the feminine section of the drugstore that is primarily boric acid with some other herbs mixed in. I took this remedy (with little result) but experienced no ill effects from the boric acid. It was there right next to the OTC yeast infection remedies. I guess it is to restore the PH balance

I had candida yeast infection so bad that I landed in the hospital -- it went to my head, and ears and and eyes and...causing profuse vomiting for days. The doctors were baffled. Of course for most of them, candida is a made up illness. In NJ, doctors can't list it as a diagnosis cause it doesn't exist. No, doc, it wasn't Meniere's, or an imbalance in the ear canal nor any of the other guesses that you took, it was the genuine article: Candida Albicans. As a result of their not knowing, I went home untreated (except that the night duty nurse tried to give me the heart patient's medication) and treated it myself: I took a series of 10 colonics followed by ozone rectal insufflations which stopped the yeast dead. The ozone killed all the little nasty buggers hiding internally and flooded them with ozone/oxygen. I ate no sugar, flour, dairy or yeast products for a year. Two weeks ago I had my first dose of regular whole wheat yeasted bread and bada bing: no swelling, no itching, no bags under my eyes, no tingles. I recommend a few colonics a year followed by the ozone insufflations, just to make sure!

B: I would drop the H2O2 treatment for now and try other natural remedies like Coconut Oil, Oregano. There are many types infection in the gut so don't assume for sure it's candida only.

Hi All,

I have used Lufenuron a couple times and it has cleared up my symptoms of systemic candida. I can even eat sugar with no adverse effect except that after a month or so the candida comes back.

So I recommend it with a candida diet so hopefully the candida will not overgrow again. It was a welcome break from the intestinal discomfort and brain fog. It is a drug and as such has some not good side effects but for me I saw none.

Fermented foods and NO sugar or white flour products. No high glycemic foods. One dose lasted me a good month.

Beware non food grade. Food grade lufenuron is worth the price.


Essential Oils

I followed an essential oil protocol which totally vaporized the candida in my system in 4 months.

There were several things of note as I did the protocol: I felt much better in about 3 weeks, then worse, then it seemed like the fungus was gone - but it wasn't - and that's exactly when you need to stay on the protocol for at least 6 weeks-2 months more. What happens is that the candida goes into "hiding" as it tries not to be eradicated. It will hide anywhere it can in the body, but if you keep going you will out it. Then, you will start to see more elimination/detox happening as the candida tries to fight the death grip happening to it. For me, I was in the throes of the nastiness for about one month. Finally, the internal nastiness was over and then my skin showed signs of candida. This was the final stage for me. It was as though it was coming all the way out and when it got to the skin layer it was near its end.

While I did the candida protocol I also was attacking other bacteria and parasites with different oils. I was clear and clean from these things all told within 6 months. At that point I then proceeded with chemical/metal detoxing and it was a relative breeze.

Some of the oils: lemon, orange internally. Bay leaf for circulation (on my feet and legs), wormwood oil, myhrr and clove, and oregano all on the balls of my feet. Layer the oils onto your feet one at a time - do not pre-mix them.

M: The MolyB will also help detox aldehyde toxins produced by the fungus (which is a big contributor of headache). Also take any form of Niacin w/ the MolyB for maximum effect.

As for MSM, adding about equal amounts of Vit-C makes for a much more powerful antibiotic.

Three other good natural remedies for fungal/candida issues is ACV, Coconut Oil, and Iodine.

I went straight to ACV for Candida. I've never felt better! My sugar and caffeine cravings have been gone for over a year! I start each day with 1 tbsp ACV in a glass of warm/hot water and at night too for better sleep! I also add 2 tbsp of ACV to my regular bottled water with a couple packets of stevia. Tastes like lemon aid and gives me an afternoon boost.

After reading about the effectiveness of bicarbonate of soda here last Nov (2014); I decided to follow the advice to take 1/8 teaspoon in a glass of water morning and evening for candida.

Well, that worked well for me. There were 3 months of die-off but thereafter the candida load has clearly reduced. My tongue has more pink in it. Depression is gone. Insomnia is gone. Jock itch, armpit rashes, itchy eyes, brain fog, athlete's foot are all gone. Only toe-nails are still deformed but they are slowly clearing.

I will take the soda till my tongue is pink.

For the past two weeks, I have also been doing herbal enemas too - 3 cloves of crushed garlic, a leaf of aloe vera in a cup of water then adding up more water to make a 2 litre enema solution. That has helped me I realize. My colon was blocked, and it still is I think. I will carry on with the enemas till the candida has cleared.

I was reared in the Sweat South and was a half ass athlete.... so I know about Jock Itch and kept it until I was in my thirties. I hunted squirrels in the 70's in the Little River bottoms below Broken Bow, Oka. and we hunted them in late August when it was 105 degrees in the shade. Folks always ask, why don't you wait until it cools off. Well, if you want to catch 8 squirrels up a hickory nut tree , then you have to hunt when there are 8 squirrels up a hickory nut tree. That leads to my rattlesnake story which I will tell in another post.

Naturally after the first day's hunt your crotch was chapped bad and you hunted bow legged the next day. Since I's SJS, I figured that the sweat running through the crack in my rear was causing the problem so from then on I packed my fanny with toilet tissue and the problem went away.

I still kept the Jock Itch and figured that it was due to the sweat and so for the last 40 years I pack my fanny every morning with toilet tissue and guess what? I have not had the Jock Itch in 40 years.

I know this is rude and crude, but when you read the numerous post on EC about this problem, I finally decided to pass my little secret on. Our grandson plays football and I know he has this problem. Anyway, when I told our daughter-in-law how to help with this , , , , , , she belly laughed. I did not take offense because she was Yankee reared and they can't help it. That's just the way they are.

If it's so great up there why are they moving South by the droves?

Hi Pam...You're absolutely right about L-2-Hydroxycaproic acid(LHCA) and isomer properties. What I should have made clear is that LHCA is an oxidant or is the oxidant form of caproic acid and, as confirmed from the research, this oxidant form is highly beneficial against candida.

The other thing to remember about caproic acid(or any ingested nutrient) is that when you ingest it as food, it will not necessarily stay as caproic acid but, while travelling throughout the body, will inevitably undergo many chemical changes due to chemical reactions including oxidation and reducton reactions. So LHCA may more simply be regarded as the oxidized form of caproic acid.

Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is another one with a useful oxidant form called dehydroxyascorbic acid(DHAA). The hydroxy portion means that it contains a hydroxyl radical which therefore also makes it an oxidant. DHAA is actually more useful than ascorbic acid because it is a glucose mimic and is absorbed in larger amounts and faster via the glucose pathways(GLUT1) of the body whereas ascorbic acid or ascorbate uses the slower and limiting sodium transporters. So DHAA is able to reach cells quicker and in larger amounts than ordinary vitamin C. Once inside the cell the DHAA is then easily converted from the hydroxy or oxidant form into the more useful ascorbate(anti-oxidant form) by glutathione(anti-oxidant).

I am also a firm believer that a healthy body needs the correct balance in terms of oxidants/anti-oxidants. Generally, anti-oxidants are used as essential enzyme cofactors in the many important metabolic processes of the body. Oxidants in the body are also used for essential jobs like respiration and energy as well as in helping the immune system fight invading pathogens. Phagocytes and neutrophils convert chlorides and iodides to hypochlorous acid(oxidant) and hypoiodous acid(oxidant) respectively in order to destroy bacteria, fungus and viruses. In this same immune process hydrogen peroxide(oxidant) is also generated from vitamin c and is sprayed out into the blood to kill the pathogens as well. So you could also perhaps say that vitamin c is a safe way to actually store hydrogen peroxide(an oxidant) in the body.

Regarding your cholesterol and high blood problems, I think that higher dose niacin should help you here. Indeed, I have noticed that many drugs companies are now all incorporating niacin together with statins into their pills in order to make statins more respectable. So, instead, I would come off the statins and just start taking higher dose niacin(flush form) or inositol hexanicotinate(non-flush form) on its own -- at least 500 mgs twice a day.

I'm also not sure whether you have been following a candida protocol. My current anti-candida protocol is shown here.

I've also said often enough that systemic candida involves two dimorphic forms of candida: the yeast form and the fungal form. I've also recently come to the conclusion that there are two forms of systemic candida. The first systemic form is where the yeast form dominates the body and the second systemic form is where the fungal form dominates. The fungal form is by far the most virulent form and the most difficult form to cure.

So it may be that that the fungal form is dominating your body -- this makes it harder to cure. What I would do is simply buy some organic Gymnema sylvestre tea(GST) and drink this tea at least 4 times a day. GST acts to reduce blood sugar and also acts significantly to completely inhibit the transformation of the yeast candida form into the fungal form. In other words, GST strongly inhibits the fungal form. So, in this respect, drinking the GST every day should therefore help to greatly reduce the virulence and dominance of the fungal candida form leaving just the yeast form. The yeast or local candida form is much easier to cure.

I would also get a hair analysis. This will tell you your heavy metal and halide status and will also tell you what nutrients you are lacking in your diet. If you find that you have excessive high copper and low levels of zinc, glutathione, magnesium and low B vitamins(especially B6) then this will perhaps also confirm at least some further reasons for the fungal candida form dominating your body.

Hi Cindy...If you want to get rid of candida biofilm then you should use a product like Theramedix or Candidase. These not only contain serrapeptase to get rid of biofilm but they also contain active hemicellulase enzymes. The serrapeptase will dissolve biofilms and expose the candida while the hemicellulase enzyme reduces excess intestinal mucus and dissolves candida cell walls(made of chitin) thus killing the candida.

With turpentine it is even easier. Turpentine is a paint thinner which means it dissolves polymers. Candida attaches its biofilms to the host using polymers. So that's why turpentine is easily able to dissolve candida polymers and so detach and remove the boifilm from the host cells. What's more, turpentine kills candida as well as killing a wide range of other pathogen species. This action by turpentine applies mainly to the biofilms in the intestines.

Just take the recommended dosages given on the bottle. See here and here for the dosages of Candidase and Theramedix respectively.


Serrapeptase

Hi, I have struggled with allergies, sinusitis, etc. But, I had my gall bladder out when I was very young, and I believe it has affected my immune fighting balance. I don't have the ability to break down fats, and the bile seems to keep fungus and bacteria at bay. I have been in the health food industry for years and I have tried many things but have not cured the problem yet.

And, interestingly enough when I have had to take antibiotics somehow I always feel better. That is because it is killing all of the bad bacteria. I have found a new remedy that I have tried as a result of getting Omicron, Hydrogen Peroxide. I have had tremendous mucous problem. So I am now (thanks to EC) doing HP in my ears, 3 drops. Just started but it seemed to make a difference right away. I am hopeful. I have been putting it in my humidifier too. My biggest problem is getting the good bacteria. I have tried it all. I love yogurt plain, but it's dairy and it seems counterproductive, mucous. Thanks.


Throat Clearing

Hi Mary...In answer to you question -- yes, candida can directly infect the lungs(and so can aspergillus or mold) if your immune system is compromised.

Borax is perhaps the ultimate fungal killer, but your lung problems seems to be due to persistent, excess mucus in your bronchial and throat region. There several things you can take to help reduce the excess phlegm in these regions. Here are some options for you:

* Take 1/2 tspn sea salt in a glass of water in the morning every day(Ted's remedy).

* Take 1/2 teaspoon xylitol in water 2 or 3 times a day(Ted's remedy). Xylitol can sometimes feel acidic when you take it so if this happens just take 1/4 tspn sodium bicarbonate with some water to reduce the acidity.

* What helps to clear my own lung and nose mucus is lugol's iodine which is in my protocol. Excess iodine in the blood tends to accumulate in the alveoli or small air sacs of the lungs -- so iodine will both help to reduce the mucus as well as kill any pathogen, including yeast, that is residing in the lung region causing you problems.

All the above remedies will help to reduce and clear sputum from the lungs and throat. And they all kill fungus as well.

If you find that you have a serious lung infection causing these excess sputum problems then I would perhaps use Bill Munro's Hydrogen Peroxide Inhalation Method(using an atomizer or nebulizer) -- shown here. For this I would be careful to use the 0.5 % FG Hydrogen Peroxide strength that Ted recommends.

I had a persistent tickly cough with excess phlegm that was causing me some grief some while ago because I couldn't sleep well. It kept going away and coming back. I tried everything but it lasted weeks. In the end, I came to the conclusion that the virus or whatever was hiding so I made sure to disinfected the following regions where pathogens can easily hide away from the immune system and from anti-pathogn nutrients:

* Ears

* Nose and sinuses

* The cavity directly behind the rear nose opening which is above the throat.

Everyday I disinfected my nostrils with four drops of lugols iodine mixed with a capful of water. I used a dropper and put this mix into each nostril and made sure it ran all the way back into the cavity behind the nose to kill all residual pathogens there. You could also use a neti pot for this as well. I sometimes used drops of 1% hydrogen peroxide(HP) with a dropper as well.

I either used 1% HP or Lugol's Iodine(with a capful of water) to disinfect my ears.

The persistent infection causing the tickly cough and excess phlegm in my throat disappeared completely within 2 days.

I boil vegetables because I have a hard time digesting them raw, probably a gallbladder issue. Steaming might be also a good idea, thought I do not have a steamer.

I admit that eating that many Brussel sprouts is highly unpractical, nor is it enjoyable.

I am a great fan of Indian cuisine so I might try this one. Though I kind of like the smell of boiled cauliflower.

Hi Amy,

I had my ears clogged and nose stuffed and sinus were hurting and my hearing went down.I used 4 drops of Lugol Iodine in filtered water and rinsed my nose with special nasal bottle. For my ears, I dipped the Q tip in Lugol/iodine(the same solution I used for the nose) water and kept it for a few hours every day in my ears.It helped me greatly. Along with this I am doing Bill Thompson's Candida protocol. Blessings

Hi Marcin...if you were to drink lemon juice in its raw form then it would have to be neutralized by the pancreatic juices first in the duodenum before it was properly absorbed into the body as citrate(the safer and more alkaline chemical salt form).

So citrate may simply be thought of as the post-digested form of citric acid. The point to take away here is that drinking the raw lemon juice containing the citric acid needs to first be digested and neutralized to citrate form before digestion and absorbtion into the blood. But the bicarbonates stored in the pancreas are also crucial to help maintain the correct alkaline body pH in other parts of the body. So if you take the raw lemon juice then you are effectively wasting the body's bicarbonate stores(which could be used elsewhere in the body to aid other metabolic processes) in the pancreas and reducing them.

So that's why it's far better to take the post-digested form of lemon juice(as citrate) by adding water and sodium bicarbonate(baking soda) to the raw lemon juice and then drinking it this way. This form does not need to be converted to citrate -- it is already in the post-digested citrate form -- and will be easily absorbed into the blood without depleting the crucial bicarbonate stores in the pancreas.

And apart from the above reasons, if you drink raw acidic lemon juice or vinegar then the acids in them will tend to erode and dissolve the enamel on your teeth over the longer term. That's yet another reason why it's better to supplement the more alkaline citrate or post-digested form of lemon juice using sodium bicarbonate.

Regarding your UTI and back problems, these are probably being caused by excess cell and blood acidity caused by the candida and other poisons being released in your body. This acidity can cause damage to the fine filtration network in the kidneys which might be causing your back problems. And if your kidneys are not up scratch then fungal/bacterial infections will get through to infect the bladder causing the UTI problems. That's why its important that you should be taking the lemon in water mixed baking soda -- this will help to alkalize the cells and should help to reduce the pain. Take this outside mealtimes twice a day and also take 1/2 teaspoon baking soda on its own with water at about 9:00 pm before you sleep. Both these protocols will help to make your body more alkaline and should help you. For the back problem you might also want to try using a tablespoon of VCO mixed with about six drops of lavender oil or tea tree oil or clove oil for some immediate relief.


Candida Detoxing Symptoms

Hi Shadel...Whenever you detox with candida issues it's fairy normal to get skin and other problems as detox symptoms. These skin problems can arise from excessive heavy metal detox or because of excessive fluorine or bromine detox in the body.

I cannot say exactly for sure what is causing your problems but the favourite cause for both skin issues with dry mouth or a metallic taste in the mouth while detoxing is usually associated with excessive bromine detox symptoms while supplementing lugols iodine. Normally people get these skin and dry mouth issues because they do not take the full Iodine Protocol that is advised. If you have excessive bromine in your body with skin issues then you should also take the Salt Loading Protocol(shown lower down on the page) together with the Iodine Protocol which will greatly reduce symptoms like skin problems because the chloride in the salt binds to the bromine for easy and fast riddance via the urinary pathway. Furthermore, the Iodine companion nutrients in the protocol all help to reduce and minimize these common and various detox symptoms.

Skin rashes can also occur because of excessive heavy metal detox. Many of the autistic kids that I've been working with always initially get skin rashes when they start the detox protocols. These types of rashes tend to heal and go away after a short while as they continually reduce the heavy metals in their body using the protocol.

If you want to know your heavy metal and bromine/fluorine status then just get a hair analysis done. This is much cheaper than going to the doc.


B Vitamins

Hi Cindy...I would simply take the B50 complex as recommended. You should only purchase the form that is made from the synthetic type of B Vitamins, which is not made from the yeast forms. Generally, on the bottle it should say something like "derived from yeast". This form should be avoided if you have candida. The B vitamins are necessary for proper digestion, blood, nerves etc. If you also have difficult digestion problems then then I would simply try taking this protocol.

To help cure the insomnia(from the candida waste poisons) I would ensure to alkalize the body at least twice a day using Ted's lemon/lime or ACV with baking soda protocol. Last thing at night I would also take a half teaspoon of baking soda with water. This helps to neutralize poisons in the blood and also helps to maintain favorable and healing levels of pH in the body. Niacin or niacinamide(500 mg twice a day) will also help to relax you and also helps to kill the fungus. Magnesium Chloride or Magnesium Citrate are also useful for relaxing the body(250mg twice a day).

Supplementing 25 mgs of sodium molybdate in water every day(as Ted recommends) will also help to neutralize and reduce the candida waste toxin problems in your body. Take this dosage every day for two weeks and then take a week off the protocol. See this research. I am also aware that sodium molybdate can be difficult to find on the internet but I have seen it for sale on ebay.com.

Eating grain-based foods seems to cause Americans many problems and that's because grains not only contain gluten but they also contain dangerous pesticides. And all grains in America are now grown as GMO crops. Have a look at what Dr Serilini's long term research study, recently republished(because Monsanto couldn't stop The Truth), has to say on GMO maize to see what Monsanto's Roundup Ready grain weedkiller/GM brands do to your body in the longterm -- especially if you are female. So not only will American wheat cause gluten and other problems in the body but wheat also contains carbohydrates which are converted to sugars in the body. Sugar feeds candida and helps it to spread rapidly. All bad, in other words.

So, in America, we eat a huge variety of plastic chemical food products that act to poison the body and you pay the agricultural chemical companies handsomely for that distinct privilege. This makes Americans sick and diseased. Then we go to our doctors who recommend drugs(more synthetic poisons) and we are confused as to why they can't cure us. But we never argue because they are supposed to be the experts -- right?

Essentially it's the drug media propaganda machine(brainwashing) vs. your own direct experience and common sense and you shouldn't need a double blind placebo study costing millions to work that one out.

One can also supplement "hormone free" desiccated Thyroid tablets for the rebuilding of the gland without sudden increase in T levels. This method should result in a slow improvement of the gland. I would not shy from taking the "hormone free" along w/ the Armor as they should work very well together.


Lugol's Iodine

1. My nutritionist is pushing kelp over Lugol's; how do I explain why Lugol's is superior to Kelp when fighting Candida?

Kelp is a very useful nutrient but I'm afraid that you will need much more iodine than the microgram dosages that kelp can provide to both kill candida or to heal the thyroid or satisfy the whole body's need for iodine/iodide. The thyroid gland optimally stores 50 mgs of iodine tops. The rest of the body needs to store 1, 500 mgs on a daily basis for optimal health(see the video below).

I also very much doubt that your nutritionist will believe any of the above research because he/she has been so well trained within the narrow guidelines of modern medical research and FDA rules. That's why he/she is probably a confirmed iodophobe who is convinced from all that medical training and propaganda that any iodine dose above 2 mgs is poison for the body.

I've been taking lugol's iodine at 8 drops(50 mgs) a day for 8 years without any harmful effects whatsoever. I also truly believe that my own health has been much improved because of the lugol's iodine that I supplement.

Anyone who cannot take or stand the higher dosage of iodine will probably have either high amounts of bromine or fluorine or heavy metals in their body or will be anaemic(lack of iron in the blood) or will have low levels of cortisol. And if you carefully investigate these reasons as so-called iodine side-effects -- none of them will lead back to excess iodine as the culprit but, instead, will lead back to a bad diet and a bad lifestyle that has been ongoing for decades.

2. Bill, which are you in favor of: purchasing the Niacin and B50 Complex as separate supplements or purchasing the ATP Co factors (which I believe contains both)?

You can use either protocol. I also favour the ATP Cofactors(made by Optimox) because Dr Guy Abraham used his own pills(from Optimox) to help cure iodine deficiency disorders within hs own research. It's up to you whichever you use. I mention using niacin and Vitamin B50 simply because its cheaper and should achieve the same result when used in the Iodine Protocol.
