I'm sensitive to iodine, but I've used diluted (with distilled water) DMSO topically on sebaceous cysts AND on herpes outbreaks with WONDERFUL success. The DMSO works faster than Valtrex for me without ANY side effects. For both my HSV and cysts, I've seen improvement after a single application (though I use 2x/day until symptoms are gone).
I have not had any luck using it for psoriasis patches, so it's not a panacea.
