Just about 2 hours ago I was going out of my mind from the uncomfortable feelings that go along with yeast infections. I have always had luck with the 1 Day Monistat, but not this time, feeling confused and ready to spend another $18, I decided to google some natural cures & found this site. What amazing people you all are for sharing your experiences so openly, it gave me the push I needed to drink a glass of water mixed with 2 tbl, of Apple Cider Vinegar & within 2 hours, my symptoms have gone away. Not sure if it's cured, but I do know I'm not itchy right now!! Yeah! Good luck to you all my fellow female friends.

I have been sitting here for about 3 hours with the absolute worst itching and burning sensation down unda complaining to my boyfriend (yes he is forced to listen and listen to me complain... Hes a peach). I was literally about to get a brillo pad and go to town cause I could not take the itching anymore until I finally googled some home remedies. ACV WORKS LIKE A GEM. I was skeptical about it at first and it weirded me out a little but it made everything feel FANTASTIC in 5 minutes. I soaked a tampon in half ACV half warm water and put it in for about 10 minutes. Then got a clean cloth and wiped around the goods. It burned for a bit right after I tried it but gee willakers do I feel better... My boyfriend is relieved too I finally shut up :)

I saw this website and i think it's great!! I was looking through the area on yeast infections and saw many that i have tried. Yogurt does work for a while. What i use is 1/4 cup of salt (iodized) and 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar (add more if needed) in warm bath water, just enough to cover the pelvic area. Then just sit in that for about 20-30 mins. It's the fastest thing i have ever used. As soon as you sit down you will be saying "ahhhhhhhhhhhhh relief"!!!! Of course do not use soaps while you are sitting there. After the 20-30 mins stand up and take a shower. You will be amazed how fast it works!! You can also dab a little ACV on the area prone to infection daily to prevent yeast infections.

I'm a long time sufferer of yeast. Tired of running to the doctor's office for that one little pill to ease my discomfort, I started searching for natural/home cures online and found this site. I ran out to the store, bought some ACV and drank some mid afternoon 2 days ago. To my surprise, my symptoms started to disappear by that evening. Today all the nagging and discomfort is gone thanks to $1 bottle of ACV! It's too easy... AWESOME!

I am a little embarrassed to write about this problem but felt I needed too. I have had a yeast infection for months caused initially by taking antibiotics. After being to my doctor twice and her giving me 2 different prescriptions (neither worked) I came across this website. I had heard that vinegar had helped women with this problem before but I was skeptical. Being desperate to try anything I used 2 TBS ACV in a glass of distilled water and drank it 2 times a day. At night I just used 2 TBS in a little water. IT WORKED. Thank you to the people who have had success and were willing to put it on this website!

I took the apple cider vinegar in water twice and the yeast infection disappeared. I had used Monistat without success and couldn't get an appointment with my gynecologist. I will continue to use the apple cider vinegar in water to prevent another infection. What a miracle!!

When I get an infection, I pour 1 cup of white vinegar in my douche bottle and finish filling with warm water. I douche twice daily and in about 2 days my infection is gone. The vinegar smell leaves in about an hour.

I was at my wits end trying everything from Monistat to douche to vagisil to get rid of this yeast infection. Then I tried the Apple Cider Vinegar in my bath while I was on my lunch break and put two teaspoons in a glass of water and drank it. It soothed the soreness and stopped the itching right away! I feel like myself again! Thank you all who posted this helpful information!

Hi, I've used Earthclinic so many times, that I wanted to share my own yeast infection remedy, to express my gratitude!

Step 1: douche with a mixture of ACV and warm water

Step 2: wait for appx 5 minutes, then douche with Borax (buy at target, really cheap) and water

Step 3: dry and wear loose underwear. I work at home and simply stay in my pajamas.

Works like a charm, usually just 1 application is needed. If not, another application usually does the trick!

I think Borax can be replaced with baking soda, because I believe it's the PH that enables the cure. You first acidify the environment, then you alkalize it (either with borax or baking soda). Then, drying it out helps tremendously too. The feeling a little after you douche is as if you just applied a soothing ointment - the inflammation is gone!

You know, I was skeptical about using ACV in the tub, but I was so desperate last night at 2AM, (couldn't sleep cuz of the itching), I tried it. Every time I clean the area with just plain old water when I have a yeast infection, I feel better for about an hour, and than the itching returns. I figured people were saying ACV in the bath works, because, they are washing the area and of course it's going to feel better afterwards. But, after trying it last night, I swear to God, it did something, because it has been 24 hours, and the itching and discharge has apparently ceased. I soaked with a quarter cup iodized salt and a cup ACV, and filled the tub up to wear my legs were submerged. I was concerned the vinegar may be too diluted. There was a distinct smell to the water, so I figured I put enough in there. It worked. I'm going to do it again tonite. Thanks Guys!!!

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND TABLE SALT CURED MY YEAST INFECTION.I HAD BEEN ITCHING SO BADLY AND I WAS SO RED AND IRRITATED. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME I HAD A Y.I. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS NOT NEARLY AS SEVERE AS THIS ONE.I HAD BEEN TAKING ANTIBIOTICS AND IM GUESSING THE MEDS GAVE ME THIS INFECTION. I SOAKED IN A TUB OF WATER UP TO MY WAIST THAT HAD 2 CUPS OF VINEGAR FOR 30 MINUTES THEN I SOAKED A WASH CLOTH IN VINEGAR AND WATER AND PATTED IT ON THE SORE SPOTS THAT WERE ON THE EXTERIOR OF MY BODY. NEXT I FILLED A DOUCH BOTTLE W/ WATER AND A TABLESPOON OF SALT SHAKEN WELL. I CLEANED INSIDE TWICE WITH THIS AND AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES I FELT SO MUCH BETTER. I DID THIS FOR 3 DAYS. AFTER THE 2ND DAY IT WAS GONE BUT TO MAKE SURE I DID IT FOR ANOTHER DAY. LADIES IF YOU NEED A HOME REMEDY FOR THESE EVER SO IRRITATING YEAST INFECTIONS GIVE THIS A TRY IT WORKED FOR ME AND IT DIDNT COST ANYTHING VERSUS THE 12-20 DOLLAR CREAMS THAT ARE MESSY AND TAKE FOREVER TO CLEAR UP THE SYMPTOMS.GIVE IT A TRY IT WORKED FOR ME.

When you can say you've been completely symptom free for at least 2 weeks, after all of your treatments have stopped, then maybe you've cured the yeast problem. Just because you feel better soon after a treatment of any kind, doesn't mean you've cured it! Until then, it just means something is helping temporarily.

This is an important point. A treatment may be successful in killing the majority of yeast, but it may also cause a disruption in pH or an imbalance in the vaginal microbiome (making it possible for any living yeasts to come back with a vengeance).

I have experienced this thanks to a yeast infection during pregnancy. Yeast infections are SO HARD to get rid of because the body is producing excess estrogen and sugars in the vagina. It's been hell.

A treatment might work and give me relief, but within 1-3 days the yeast would be back. Maybe even worse than before.

So far, I've tried garlic cloves as suppositories, coconut oil and oregano essential oil bulses, baking soda, salt, and ACV. It was after the majority of these treatments that work I read that prenatal yeast infections are so tough they are prescribed a full week of the toughest antifungal possible. I was focusing on treating with a remedy for maybe three days like my previous infections when I wasn't pregnant. Perhaps my treatments would have worked if I had stuck with them for a full week. Who knows.

Right now I'm trying whey from plain yogurt. It's easy for me to insert versus yogurt (the downstairs is always compact and engorged at 38 weeks so actual yogurt is almost impossible to stuff in there).

I'll see how it goes.

I just soaked in a lukewarm bath with 1 cup iodized sea salt and 3/4 organic ACV. I thought it would sting when I first got into the tub. Not at all! It was extremely soothing. I almost didn't want to get out. I sat there for about 30 minutes. Finally after suffering from this awful YI for over a week I am getting some relief. I have been to the dr. Have been using AZO yeast, miconazole powder, nystatin cream, etc. etc. but only some temporary relief. I still have a couple of sore spots, just because the skin is very raw. My infection had spread half way down my inner thighs. I'll try another bath tonight before I go to bed and will hopefully be able to finally sleep comfortably. Thank you for this nearly instant remedy!

Hello CL, Go to Dr. Mercola's site and watch his video of Doug Kaufman interviewing Italian Dr. Tullio Simoncini. Dr. Simoncini says that in Italy, they now think that cancer is caused by a fungi (yeast infection is also fungi). They are now effectively treating cancer there by injecting baking soda into the area of the cancer in order to kill off the fungi without killing off the host. So, taking the above into account, perhaps the best treatment for vaginal yeast infection would be a baking soda douche, or a baking soda soaked tampon. If I had the problem, I'd certainly give it a try because it isn't likely to cause any unwanted side effects, unless used excessively.

I have not tried the baking soda myself, but I would be cautious about that since it is very alkaline, and thus would create a good environment in the vagina for the yeast to grow. The reason ACV is so effective is because it changes the pH of the vagina back to acid, where the yeast cannot survive.

Do NOT use baking soda!!!! I got advice from a friend to use it and after soaking in it for 45 min she called me and told me to get out immediately. The YI got so bad I finally had to break down and get medical attention.

Remember to always heavily research some of these facts presented on comment threads. Yeast survives in an acid vagina. Your vagina should be acid(y). (4.5 ph). If your vagina is alkaline then you probably have BV. A basic ph test is how many ob/gyns make the determination between yeast or bv. You can buy ph strips pretty cheaply online or in health food stores. Put a little vagina fluid on the strip. Follow the guide that comes with the strips. If you are experiencing an issue down there and the ph is acid, then you probably have a yeast infection. If the ph is alkaline, then you probably have bv. Search any explanatory yeast infection videos and they will all tell you the same. Drinking ACV has never worked for me. I am currently eating two garlic cloves a day and about to take an ACV bath. I just had a colposcopy and cannot put anything up there and unfortunately (before the colpo) 7 days of monistat and a diflucan did not get rid of the yeast infection that I got from antibiotics.

Update: The results of my colpo came back clear except for some inflammation of my cervix (no HPV or cancer which is awesome). I went back on the typical BV antibiotics which I handled much better with probiotics and eating really well. And also a positive attitude. Stay away from antibiotic reviews. they will make you crazy. After that it was diflucan. A week later, I am good to go. No more issues.

ACV, garlic, yogurt inserts (never do this... It is gross and unecessary), etc did not cure anything.

Though the medications did the curing, ACV external compresses (sometimes I would dilute the ACV and sometimes I would not) helped with yeast symptoms while I waited for the flagyl dose to be over.

If you find that BV/Yeast issues reoccur after sexual exposure, ask your gyno or free clinic to test you specifically for trich. Trich is treated just as BV is, and BV meds are usually followed with yeast meds, so doctors do not test for trich unless you ask them to. Tests are expensive and doctors will avoid ordering them unless absolutely necessary depending on your insurance (they do this for you and for themselves). If you have trich, they will dose your partner up as well, and you will both be good after a week. In the mean time, probiotics (orally... Don't stick foreign objects up your vagina) and ACV (externally) for symptoms. Works great to get you through the meds!

Apple Cider Vinegar- I tried a hot bath up to pelvis area with 1/4 Cup Iodized Salt & 1 Cup of ACV. I used the vinegar solution and douched with it once and sat in the bath for 25 minutes. After, I used H20 & ACV to pat the outside of the vagina to help with the burning. Then after my bath, I drank 2TBSP of ACV with a 8oz glass of H2O and after an hour and a half, I feel great. My symptoms are at a minimum, I am no longer burning, nor hurting. I have spent 3 days on Monistat, which didn't help. This is amazing. Before bedtime, I plan on drinking a glass of ACV/H2O and 2 acidophilus capsules! I hope that this is a cure and it isn't going to come back tomorrow. Thank you for this resource.

First of all, boo to Monistat. I tried it for 3 days and it didn't touch it. So this morning when I woke up and still had a full blown yeast infection, I started researching and came across this site. I found this cure and several others so I thought I'd give it a shot. First, I decided to try the salt only method. I made sure my finger was wet, then salted it and put it where the infection was (even inserted up into). Wow, that burned insanely bad but I just distracted myself by folding laundry and hanging up clothes. After about 15 minutes, I peed and washed it all off. Felt better and continued on. I then took a tampon and soaked it in ACV for about 10 minutes. Then, I tried the salt/ACV bath. This is what really helped. I poured 1 cup of ACV and 2 cups of salt into a very warm bath, sat there for about 30 minutes while I studied. This totally worked! No more redness, no more itching, I feel awesome. Thank God for this website!

I had a yeast infection just before my vacation a month ago. I got OTC medicine but it didn't work at all. My symptoms after the 3 day treatment were just the same as before I took the treatment. This had never happened to me so I didn't know what to do. I thought I might have to go to the Dr. but I didn't have time before my vacation and I DIDN'T want to have a yeast infection for the duration of my trip! I read on this site about the hydrogen peroxide cures for yeast infection but I thought I'd try salt first. (I was going to try Peroxide if salt didn't work)

I sat in a bath of 1 cup ACV and 2 cups table salt, running the water up to the top of my legs, and I sat in it for 20 minutes. During that time I used, I'm a little embarrassed to say, a turkey baster (which I bought for this use ONLY!) to douche with warm salt water. I expected it to hurt but it didn't. It did have a slight burning feeling on the outside where I was so raw from the infection. I did the douche 6 times in that 20 minute period. I did this ONE night only. The next day my symptoms were almost gone. By the second day they were gone completely! No more wasting money on OTC treatments for me! I can't believe how easy and CLEAN this treatment was! No more drippy, icky mess for three days! My husband is the one who told me to try salt. He says it will kill just about anything and I believe it!

After coming across this site, I decided to buy organic apple cider vinegar, and see what I could do at home to clear up my yeast infection. I had already taken a diflucan pill that I had left over from a previous YI back in the summer. So with the diflucan doing it's job, I decided to help out the external symptoms by pouring 11-12 cups of warm water into a deep dish turkey pan so I wouldn't waste the ACV in a whole bathtub. I estimated the ratio to be 11-12 cups of water to 3 teaspoons of ACV and 1/2 a teaspoon of iodized table salt. This combination was gentle and effective, to my surprise. After having suffered major allergic reactions and burns to otc things like Canesten (aaah!!!) I was once bitten, twice shy. But the ACV soak did the trick to remove the white discharge - it just flaked right off with a little massaging of the area to get it into all the nooks and crannies - and the itch was soothed. I've done the sitz bath soak in ACV and salt just three times, and by the 3rd day today, I can see the normal pink skin that should be there instead of the white filmy covering. I just have a little sensitivity left, but I'm hoping that will go away by the end of the 7 day duration that diflucan is supposed to be in effect. Also, i did purchase a dropper of oregano oil (5 drops 3 x a day) and do drink two teaspoons of ACV in a glass of water thru the day, as well as taking 3, 10 billion count acidophilus pills a day. So I'm hoping all this will do the job to restore the proper balance down there, and kill the overgrowth of yeast. Oh, and I did try the yogourt application thing, but that just worked temporarily while the yogourt was applied, and not afterwards, so I don't think I'll do that again. Hope this helps!!!

I am so grateful to all these posts about the organic Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) remedy for the Yeast infection. First, in the morning, my lover suggested a warm salt water douche, which I did once with a turkey baster. Next he went online and read all these posts and I drank a 1/2 cup of the diluted in water ACV (yuck! ). Almost immediately the itching stopped. That evening, I used a turkey baster as well and did the ACV with water and salt. Except for the leakage (I needed to sit on the toilet for awhile to let it all run out :-)) it worked perfectly. No more itching. I will never buy the yucky over the counter goop again!!! Thank you all.

I had a horrible itch due to an allergy to latex and then I got my period right after having sex so it was so much worse. then...I woke up and realized I had been scratching in my sleep. The next morning, the lips and c litoral hood were swollen horribly and it burned and itched. I went to get monistat for seven days, it barely took away the itch. Then I went for acidopholus pills which helped then i started bathing and dabbing with vinegar. After four days of this, the internal itch is gone and the external itch is minimal. I decided to take a few teaspoons of ACV today and I feel good rightnow. I will write back tomorrow to let you all know how well its working. It's just this nagging external itch every so often that bugs me now...are there any other suggestions for this?
