Chewing Raw Garlic
I've read that when you eat raw garlic you should mince it up and swallow with 1 tblsp of olive oil. Reason being the olive oil has benefits also and when you swallow the garlic by itself some kind of acid in the saliva that kills the allicin in the garlic which is the sole benefit for eating it. And it also fights of yeast infection.

For the past month or so I have had a horrendous cough with watery eyes, sinus drip and tickling in my lungs. The coughs were sounding real bad - like honking almost. I did a search on the net and figured I would try the garlic before going to the doctor (fearing of course TB or cancer etc...) Well - after only 48 hours of chewing a piece of elephant garlic as soon as the tickling began -- the cough has greatly reduced!! This morning the tickling moved from one lung to the other -- and I'm still chasing it with the garlic. I have had Lymes twice and whatever this infection is - reminds me of Lymes in the way it seems to move around inside the body. Whatever this is can't escape the wonderful garlic fumes. I even dropped a few slices in my wine last night. IT WORKS!!! Thank you so much.

You can simply chew a peeled clove of raw garlic in the mouth, making sure you chomp it sufficiently into small pieces. The juices will be absorbed by your tongue almost immediately into your system, and is a fast way of getting it into the body. You can spit out the pieces without swallowing them, once the juice has been absorbed.

I have had a bad virus and coughing badly for the last few days and worse at night I got up and chewed a clove of garlic it tasted horrible and burned a bit but am sure it helped me and I'm going to take it again when symptoms come on through the day. As I able to stay home as I do not work due to suffering with ME/CFS I am not worried about the smell.

I tested positive for HIV a few years back and went into a phase of denial and depression, up until a good friend of mine showed me a documentary "Food Matters" and my life has changed ever since. Still reluctant to take any sort of meds I opted for the all natural approach. I started eating super foods and vegetables, garlic especially, aside from my daily dose of super foods I started the treadmill cardio 30 mins and staying in a dry sauna after for 15 mins x 3, 3 times a week, I felt wonderful! Up until 1 day, I felt something was wrong, I started getting short breath and I started to have anxiety attacks because of this, so I went to my doctor and was diagnosed with Bacterial pneumonia! and was confined in the hospital for 3 days, sad.. Even worse of it all, the they had me taking this HUGE disgusting pills of antibiotics, which I think even made me more sick, resulted to splitting headaches and thrush in my throat... well to cut the long story short, do everything in moderation, with the right food and right exercise- things might actually work.

I tried the garlic tea recipe mentioned here and I must say that I got relief from cold and cough. In fact, when ever I go for vegetable shopping I put garlic on top of my shopping list. Thanks a lot.

I began taking a garlic oil supplement or a small clove a day last summer. While I did notice a few side effects, the positives far outweighed the negative. POSITIVES first: improved mouth health - less aching, irritation, sensitivity. Vastly improved resistance to colds and/or sickness - I took garlic every day for at least four months, and noticed an increased immune response in times where I would normally already be sick - colds, coughs, anything. Cardiovascular health - greatly improved erections, ability to sustain longer periods of intense exercise. NEGATIVES - dry hair - for some reason my hair is more straw-like. I'm a guy and generally take good care of my hair, and I noticed this easily. Mood - I tend toward a little more grumpiness for some reason - I don't know why this is the case but it has been. I will try cutting down on my dosage to see if it helps. Headaches - this only happens when I take too much, which is caused by I assume to be too much thinning of the blood. All in all, for the the immune factor itself, I count this as a life-long food!

WOW!!! Garlic has cured for me every cold that has tried to attach itself to me in the last 8 years. One or two cloves chopped up with olive oil poured over it taken in a tablespoon with a little water after to wash it down. Burns the inner infection out naturally!
Today with my tooth aching I decided to place garlic at my gum where the void and great pain exists. Google just to check, brought me to you and I see I am heading in the correct direction. Thank you all for the confirming comments of health testimonials! I just Love a natural solution! I can feel it working!

For colds, I take the minced garlic without chewing it. That way you have no garlic smell on your breath or between your teeth. Just brush a little after swallowing, just in case.

I put 1 clove of crushed garlic for each of my baby's socks when he had colds. I put 1 pair of socks on his feet then the socks with garlic next. This is the only remedy that I have tried for his colds from 1 month to 1 year old. It only took 2 applications for him to recover from the early signs of colds.

I have been cutting up a clove of garlic and adding it to hot water, drinking it before bed. This is the first year (knock on wood) that I have not gotten sinus, cold, or flu. Not sure if it is the garlic, but I'm not going to stop drinking it. I do this a few times a week.

When we feel a cold coming on or get a cold my husband and I mince a clove of garlic in water and then chug it down at least twice a day. We find this to be a powerful way to lose the cold. We now grow 150 garlic plants each year just for the two of us! You won't get garlic breath chugging it this way. I have heard that others blend garlic in water and chug.... That would work too.

Yes! Garlic is a wonder cure to have on hand. I read about it's properties a few years ago and have been using it every sense.
It works like a natural antibiotic, it kills off the bad stuff and leaves the good stuff along.
When I have a Cold or Sinus infection I will use it. I cut up a clove of fresh Garlic as small as I can. Then I will swallow as much as I can in one swallow with water to chase it down, swallow just like it was a pill. You do not have to eat it or chew it . Do this 3 to 4 times a day. I usually do it for 5 to 7 days. I store the cut up garlic in a small glass bowl in the refrigerator.

just this past week aa nasty bug was going around that consisted of nasal congestion, sore throat, and fatigue and i caught it. finally on friday i decided i wanted to be well for the weekend so i fished out my natural cures book and found out the MIRACLE. i ate 4 cloves of garlic uncooked... of course the taste was horrendous but i am not kidding after the first one i could feel the difference. it makes sense because of its anti bacterial/fungal/viral properties and its ability to strengthen the immune system. i will do this whenever i start to feel sick because i'm serious it totally cured me within 30 minutes

For years and with my children growing up I have used soft gel garlic capsules. The first onset of a cold I take or give my children 2-5 of the soft gel capsules. By the next morning you are expelling green guck. Garlic really does help and cure colds. I am a believer! I have had strep throat many many times in my life and I still have my tonsils after 50 years and I say it is due to the garlic that I have taken. When I get sick my throat area is the weak point of my body and that is what I usually get is a cold other wise I am a well individual.

I have used garlic for years. Every time I get a cold I eat one clove of garlic 3x a day. I enjoy the taste, so have it on bread with pate, or meat always raw. It is not very social... but within 3 days feel great. It is very effective. I also love horseradish for congested sinuses/ blocked nose. just a bit of it with some meat and you can breath freely..
it is easy, cheap and works without fail.

I take 2 cloves of raw garlic a day and have not been sick in over a year. I hate the taste of garlic, so I put a little bit of pudding or apple sauce on a spoon then I put 1 clove of finely minced raw garlic on top and then cover that with more pudding or applesauce, then just swallow it down. Do this twice a day. This is the easiest way to ever take raw garlic. Remember to get the full benefits of garlic it must be raw.
