Apple Cider Vinegar: Uses, Health Benefits and FAQ

I am a 31 year old college student who also works full time. Lots of stress and the desire to eat spicy foods has led to a problem with GERD. The doctors gave me Zantac and other medicines, but not being a fan of medicine I searched for other options. My chiropractor told me to try organic apple cider vinegar. I picked up a bottle of' vinegar at my health food store and started drinking it with honey and water a couple of times a day. The combination cured my reflux problem and also gives me energy. I also have found that I have not been sick and I have been taking this for over four months. I read that apple cider vinegar is also has a natural antibiotic effect. It cleanses the body. You can try the vinegar you get in the store but for all the benefits organic vinegar with the 'Mother' is your best bet. I drink the vinegar and even eat it with my food on a daily basis. It really does work.

I have been taking ACV (2 teaspoons ACV and maple syrup) for almost a week. I have been having problems with gas--terrible gas. Everything that I ate gave me gas. I noticed in the very same day that I took the ACV my gas pains have disappeared. However, one of my tooth that has multiple fillings is hurting me. Now I understand why. I will just use a straw. I came to this site after being released from the hospital. I had been hospitalized from 2 days because of bacterial gastroenteritis (food poisoning) and severe dehydration that resulted. Needless to say, I was depleted, weak and tired the day I got out. After reading about Apple Cider Vinegar that first day out, I decided to give it a try and drank 1 tbsp straight. Within an hour or two I was bouncing around the house! I left, went shopping for hours, came home and did chores, started calling up friends... it was really amazing!

I took a shot's worth of straight apple cider vinegar the moment I got home from a restaurant suffering from a queasy stomach. I usually dilute apple cider vinegar in water, but knew this time it had to go down straight if it was to work fast. Remarkably, it stopped my queasy stomach within 5 minutes. When I was an infant the Dr's told my mom I was going to die, due to a particularly high fever. She was told by an elderly friend to soak a wash cloth in acv and place one on my forehead and one on my stomach, while it smells like all get out, my mom was able to check me out of the hospital and from that day onward, it's literally been a life saver to all the children in our family with high fevers. My husband was suffering from an ear infection. He was confined in the hospital for almost 2 weeks still nothing happened, so we decided to check out of the hospital. And then I remembered when we were still small, whenever we had throat problems or ear infections, my mom always told us to apply vinegar on it & gargle for the throat.
