Fig Leaf Milk

I can vouch that fig "milk" works on warts. Tried it on my husband when a fig planted itself in the yard. :-) The wart will begin to shrivel at first application. If repeated 2-3x per week, it takes longer but works, too.

I believe that raw organic apple cider vinegar is the most effective type to use.

My 12 yr old son also has flat warts (plane warts) and I've tried the banana peel and duct tape to keep them on but because they are on his back, when he's sleeping, the duct tape seems to come loose from the constant moving I guess.

There was a suggestion that castor oil rubbed into the warts helped, I did this a few times and admittedly they did seem to sort of "dry up" just a tad, but never really showed signs of disappearing completely. Back to the banana skin, a friend of mine told me she peeled the very top layer of the outer skin and just a thin layer of the inner peel off and applied that to her sons warts and they were gone within 2 or 3 applications. The greener the better. However, they weren't flat warts and so were easier to apply being a smaller area.

I will try again with the banana, this time using a much thinner layer and as green as possible - but it's coming summer here, and bananas don't stay green for long at the moment! I believe they are our best option so stick with it each night.

Internally you could try taking green tea extract, folic acid and vitamin C. Look under HPV (human papilloma virus) in the remedies section for more info.

Hey Willow!

I feel your pain - and am trying to get rid of warts also!

I have the garden variety of warts; I know my grandma told me not to run barefoot and to garden with gloves on but I didn't listen! Now I see why - gah, these warts on my feet and hands!

I have had success on warts here or there with the wart drops you buy at the drug store, but that is a tedious process. I have recently been soaking in epsom salt baths [2 cups to a tub, 3x week] and have seen some of the warts on the soles of my feet come off. Its too early to know if they are licked for good, but its a start.

Another consideration is clove oil; read up on it as there are several kinds. A friend's fiance' had a long standing ugly wart on his finger and she wanted his hands to look nice for the close up photo of the rings at their wedding, so she tried clove oil on him [drops on a band aid, daily for a week or so] - the wart came off never to return! So I am heartened with her first hand experience in treating his wart with clove oil and will try it myself. You might try this also but use gauze and an ace bandage and perhaps wear only to bed/over night.

I am looking for a natural cure for flat warts that cover large surfaces of the legs. Taping banana peels or cotton balls does not work as affected surface areas are too large. Is there something to take internally or some sort of topical remedy that can be applied over large areas uncovered (can't wrap up the legs in tape or cotton! ). I would be grateful for a cure!

Turmeric

Please add Tumeric to your list of remedies for warts. For about year, I was troubled with a wart on the on my right palm. Resonable--though not excellent nutrition-would shrink the wart and cause it to blacken slightly. But it was still there. Due to other health concerns, about 6 weeks ago, I began taking moderately high dosages of tumeric/curcumin (4 capsules, 3 times per day) My wart is now absolutely GONE without a trace--not smaller--GONE!!!!!!

I do offer the following cautions: NEVER take curcumin on an empty stomach. It is best taken with plenty of healthy fats, and BE CAREFUL TAKING CURCUMIN IF YOU TAKE PRESCRIPTION BLOOD THINNERS... But this works!!!

Hydrogen Peroxide, Apple Cider Vinegar

A big YEA for this remedy. Worked great on a persistent wart on my thumb. During the day I would soak a small piece of cotton with ACV and tape it to the wart with duct tape. At night I would do the same with a diluted 35% H2O2 solution (diluted down to 7.5%). There was some stinging and pain at times but nothing that was unbearable. After 7 days the wart was completely gone.

I agree, Castor oil removed a wart from my sisters neck... It was a stubborn one and she tried lots of things to get rid of it. Only the Castor oil worked, without leaving a scar behind.

Warts are caused by viruses and need air and moisture to survive. Castor oil applied religiously will cut off both and the plantar wart will disappear in a matter of weeks. Much better than paying a Dermatologist to have the little buggers burned or frozen, only to be left with visible scars.

Banana Peel

I have had this wart on my ankle for some time. Kind of annoying. So I took a look at home remedies on the Internet and saw the banana peel tretment. I live in Thailand, Banana Central, so thought, what the hell. I started the treatment (inside peice of green banana peel duct taped over the wart) exactly one week and four days ago. Every time I took off the tape it looked the same, including today. So I came back to this site for another look today. While reading, I pulled off the duct tape and the wart still looked healthy, but the area was kind of grungy from the tape glue. So I took a damp cloth and rubbed the area vigorously, and guess what? The wart rubbed off! Where it wase began to bleed rather profusely, but I am sure it will stop soon. So, another success story! While I wrote this, still bleeding, but better than the wart!

Apple Cider Vinegar

I was intrigued by all the posts on Apple Cider Vinegar for various ailments and to be used as various remedies. So I recommended to a client that he use it for his wart after reading that it could disappear and/or fall off overnight. This client had been going to podiatrists and having the painful wart removed from the bottom of his foot for nearly two years - the wart probably gotten from going barefoot running. So I recommended this cure and he told me that the wart literally got black and fell off - and suddenly the pain was gone. Thank you to Earth Clinic and everybody who writes in for these amazing remedies!

Banana Peel

I almost never leave feedback. But this treatment/home remedy is the bee's knees. I have had plantar warts for 15 years straight, unrelenting. I've been to podiatrist to dermatologist back to podiatrist. I have tried ACV, silver nitrate, Aldara, tea tree oil, duct tape, salycilic acid, pumic stones, freezing kits, sand paper, liquid N2, colloidal silver, salt water, the list goes on. I was able to eliminate 10 out of the 11 on my own within 2 years of everyday constant treatments. But the real doozie was the one my heel. I got rid of it but it came back double the size. I couldn't walk very well for over a year and half. It felt like a screwdriver being driven into my foot. Even the podiatrist couldn't cure this sucker. I read the reviews about the banana peels and gave it a shot. The 1st week I wore the peel cover in plastic wrap and taped down on the sides for 23 hours a day. I would sand it down and re-apply a new peel after each shower. I saw marked improvement in 1 wk. The following week I wore it only at night time, every night. As for the peel, I used a perfectly yellow peel and froze it in a ziplock. My thinking is the peel + the frozeness might help in elimination. Currently, it is basically gone. I will continue a maintance of peel just to 100% it is really gone. I've told all my friends and family. I'm so glad that it works.

Duct Tape
Posted by Saulo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) on 06/17/2013

A not-so-new published study indicates that duct tape is more effective in wart removal than having your doctor freeze them. http://archpedi.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=203979

We at earth clinic have known that for years! Imagine what the score would be had they tried ACV!

White Vinegar

I went to the doctor for a year trying to get rid of 15 plantars warts on my feet. He scraped them down then froze them every three weeks. I applied a drying agent everyday. He prescribed a pill that change my body PH to help combat the warts. After a year of this , we eradicated 2 warts, 1 of which came back. He said my only option was to have them surgically removed. My feet would take 3=4 weeks to heal.

I work on my feet all day so I would be off for this time plus pay all the medicle bills. The warts were not hurting my feet, so I looked into an alternative cure.

I found this site and decided to try soaking my feet nightly in white vinegar and duct tape during the day. After 11 months my warts are all gone. Smaller one went away quickly, The bigger deeper ones took more time. I wish a went to this site first.

Green Clay

In the last year I had two flat warts appear on each index finger. My first attempt to get rid of them was to use duct tape for a week to soften them, then apply Black Walnut and ACV. ( I have used just AVC successfully in the past to get rid of a plantar wart that I had for 8 years! AVC got rid of it in a few weeks... Very painful weeks, but I was glad to be rid of it! )

The Black Walnut stained my skin, so I made the mistake of using a pumice stone every night to scrub off the stain, thinking that I would also be taking off the top layer of the wart. Eventually I stopped using the Black Walnut because of the stains and switched to cinnamon oil. I believe that the scrapping with the pumice stone actually spread the wart virus and my entire finger, between knuckles, began to show signs of a large, flat wart with several roots. I panicked! Unfortunately - my fingers also got very badly infected as a result. I ended up having to see a doctor who advised me to stop ALL treatments and use an antibiotic cream.

One of my fingers is very badly scared, the other healed, but still clearly had a flat wart... and recently two more popped up in the vicinity.

With oddly perfect timing I just got an eNewsletter from an herbal company I buy from (Dr. Christopher) and they suggested Redmond Clay. I could not find any, so I went with Green Clay ($9.99!). I mixed it with a bit of water, castor oil and several drops of frankensense. I applied before bed and wrapped it in cotton gauze. (make a batch and keep in an air-tight GLASS container. Do NOT use metal or plastic spoons to mix - use a wooden spoon! )

I could not BELIEVE the results!!! In the morning, the flat wart, clearly visible as a large red patch under the skin with several erruptions on the surface of my finger, had diminished by HALF!!! I was so excited that I applied a second treatment of the clay mixture and wore it the rest of the day. (it's very important to discard the clay after wearing it, as the clay's properties draw toxins OUT of the body and they collect in the clay. DO NOT REUSE! )

I forgot to do a third application before going to bed the second night... but upon waking have discovered that the red area, and the size of the flat warts continues to shrink, leaving healthy skin behind! I have just now applied a third dressing and already I can feel my finger throbbing very slightly and itching.

I am thrilled! This is much more gentle than ACV which previously really burned the skin on my hands and was very painful. I will continue to use Green Clay for all my skin issues down the road!

Matches

My son had a rather large plantar wart that was growing in the callous on the outter edge of his big toe. Nothing was working, but we soaked match heads in water for a few minutes, just to soften the sulphur enough to spread. Twice a day with a loose bandage (tight or even firmly attached hurt after a few minutes). Couple of weeks it was gone. Feet can be hard in the winter with boots and sweating. The sulphur didnt sweat off, it stuck to the wart, and I filed it whenever possible (a 5 year old generally is not patient enough to fuss over his feet). I didn't burn the match on his foot, thought he may freak, but matches were the only remedy that worked.

The white milk from the broken stem of a dandelion applied to the wart clears it up in a couple of weeks - if it's small.

I had a wart on my finger which I had tried to remove by using vinegar, but this just burned my skin. Then I tried wrapping duct tape around my finger (over the wart) which I changed every few days. After about 3 weeks it was gone and has still not come back in a year!

Fish Oil

Mary: I will presume to correct you as the fish oil does not contain appreciable amounts of Vit-A. Many people are using Fish Oil supplements for the omega 3 fatty acids. It's the fish liver, specifically cod liver oil, that contains very high levels of Vit-A.

I have been treating a heel wart unsuccessfully for several yrs. Lately it's getting worse, so I gave it a good H2O2 treatment then began the Cod Liver Oil rub and after about 4 of these treatments the pain is completely gone as is the swelling. Will continue and report if there is total eradication.

My daughter suffered from warts for years. I found that using vitamin. A 25,000 IU from fish oil got rid of them. She had them all over her face, hands, and feet. Most we're gone within a month or 2. She is 12 and did not always get ever spot. The one next to her eye took about 6 months. She didn't like the oil close to her eye. She put it on at bed time and she did smell fishy at night but the smell was gone the next morning. Just poke a whole in the soft gel and rub on.

I am a 100% "true believer" in the power of banana peel treatment for the painless method of removing warts! I had one on the delicate side of my "soft spot' on my face by hairline. I was religiously faithful for 2 1/2 weeks putting a fresh piece of the fruit, and grey duck tape on it at night, I could slowly see the area darken more and more and smaller and smaller, filing gently and "wulla" in less than 3 weeks it is absolutely gone!

Thanks for the info. Try it it really works!

Castor Oil

This worked for me as well! Happy to say that too. I never saw a wart completley dry up and fall off, more like I saw it just slowly dissappear into nothing. I didn't hear about the castor oil and baking soda until after I had been doing my current regimen. But I would give that a try too. I used straight, cold-pressed, castor oil, rubbed it into the wart (I was pretty liberal with it because it is also good for the skin) then sealed it with a coat of clear nail polish. I did this morning and night (taking off old nail polish by gently filing before each application). I started to see a change within a week. Just had to share!

The crater left is not from the treatment but from the wart. No matter which method you use for removal of the wart a crater will remain.
