Neem, Coconut, Clove and Tea Tree Oils

If I mix way to much of tea tree and clove with neem and coconut oils can this give the mites tolerance and make it worse? Scabs, nodules ad little rails are still coming out strong after 3 weeks of direct contact on my skin, or am I impatient.

Vaseline +

If you are following a homeopathic treatment, then your Dr probably told you to stay clear of essential oils.

So Vaseline is the best thing you can do to help your skin.

It is an old method of killing scabies by suffocation. In the old times, people were using lard to achieve the same effect.

Good luck!

Hair Dryer

I've reported this before but never saw my info.

Use a hairdryer on all the lines/spots/itches of the scabies. Use it as close and hot and as long until it starts to hurt. You can feel the relief right away. Do more until you feel like you don't want to burn yourself. If you need to repeat later or the next day - do it until they are gone. They die and the redness goes away. I originally thought of this because the clothes dryer works and I had tried EVERYTHING on my skin. It is amazing how well and quick it works.

Except for Diatomaceous Earth (DE). I'll keep that in mind.

EC: Hi Linda. Your previous post is on the site under the title Hair Dyer. We added this new one to the same section.

Manure + Borax Bath

Additional Comments:

Manure + Borax Bath

Please note... not everyone will see high concentrations of Scabies on their skin after drawing them out of the burrows with the scent of Sheep manure.

1) It depends on how badly your infestation is.

2) I have a condition called Myopia which is nearsightedness that can magnify the tiniest things with my glasses off. I don't know if this is a blessing or a curse as it freaks me out to see Scabies on my skin. I do know that seeing them after scenting them out of the burrow is a good thing toward reaching a cure. You out there with 20/20 vision probably won't see them without a magnifying glass. But this definitely works. Please be careful with how you handle Sheep manure. Gloves on please! Handle the shirt as though you are dealing with feces. Only scent the shirt and do not rub Sheep manure into the fabric.

Store Sheep manure away from the home. Sheep manure is not like cow, pig or chicken manure. It is not as strongly scented as these, but Scabies are drawn to it none-the-less. I have read a lot about the biology of Scabies. I have not read anywhere about how Scabies are attracted to certain scents. Having Myopia has given me an advantage I believe. I have seen them come out with certain strong scents.

If there is someone out there that can develop a scented product to draw these mites out of the burrow then please go to work! This is a horrible disease and we are waiting for help. 300 million new cases per year! I feel this is a far better treatment to try as you are getting Scabies to leave the burrows. Having them outside on the skin is a far better treatment solution than killing them inside the burrow with a topical. Borax Baths and H202 are recommended on this forum and I totally agree with this as you can keep your skin bacteria free. These mites are dirty and can cause a bacterial infection. I believe Borax baths kills Scabies that are on the surface at the time of the bath. Another thing that works to exfoliate the skin and keep it clean is Epsom Salts and Bath Salts. Please exercise caution and use common sense when attempting this and any other treatment. Research everything well before attempting.

Btw… Sheep manure here is 4.00 per large bag. Be well soon :)

Tape, Sulphur
Posted by Nan (Usa) on 06/20/2020

Not sure what kind of mites you have that are so visible, even so, here's a tip: I bathe flea-ridden kittens in Dawn soap (the original kind.) The fleas would run and hide in the kittens' ears. To stop this, I put mineral oil in the kittens' ears. The mineral oil traps and kills the fleas. If anything is hiding in your ears or nose, try a little mineral oil before you do your other treatment.

Tape, Sulphur
Posted by Alisa (Iasi) on 08/27/2023

It's not scabies. It's definitely an infestation of some kind.

But I have them too. They are the most annoying, crawling into mucous parts of the face: nostrils, eyes, ears.

They die when I bug spray around, but I cannot do that on a daily basis. It's unhealthy.

Wish I knew what they are.

Sulphur

As a follow-up, I added some clove oil, eucalyptus oil, orange oil, neem oil, and turmeric to the tea tree oil base. The additions seemed to kill the mites on me more efficiently. From what I've read, neem oil and turmeric have been used in India to kill scabies inexpensively.

Also, I applied neem oil to my hair to help end infestations. Although it smelled like weird peanut butter, it worked.

As a second commentary, I have added Hart's dog and puppy shampoo for my hair. It controls and kills the fast moving mites. The sulfur has worked its wonder on the scab mites. I now go for a day or two or three without a bite. I still wear sulfur soap and oil on occasion, but that will soon be unnecessary. Just stick to the program.

I keep getting these itchy bumps all in a row between the webbing of my fingers especially while sleeping. At first I thought I got poison ivy but in time it became apparent they were probably related to some bug. I did some research and scabies seemed to be the closest fit. Piecing together information on earth clinic I came up with a plan as I did not want to use pharmaceutical pesticides over my whole body which I heard often didn't even work. At first I took super hot baths which seemed to help but did not knock everything else. Then I used tiger balm on the itchy bumps and also dipped my hands in hot hot water as that is primarily where the infection was. Then I got some tea tree ointment and added glove & neem liberally treating the affected areas. Finally I alternated between tea tree oil soap and neem soap every other day. Between this and the ointment I put on it seemed to wipe things out.

Multiple Remedies

I want to add a little to the T cell auto immune destructive response you mentioned. I have had a terrible time with my skin reactions causing sudden and unhealing permanent wounds that I constantly have to dig into and remove the little mite islands and tunnel systems that masquerade as new skin cell scar type tissue. The salacylic acid I figured out as I desperately dug through my garage and under the sinks of my home searching for something I felt I could tolerate in open wounds that the mites could not.

One new thing I've added in a revelation to the newest revised routine I'm practicing is implementing very religious vitamin and mineral daily supplements. I personally am terribly anemic so the blood attracts the mites and every paper cut or mosquito bite ends up a giant crater hosting a permanent bug festival. Iron and all the associated letter vitamins required for it's absorption seems to be changing the game in it's department of boosting my body's metabolic and hematologic functions and leading to actual healing of some long standing wounds. The prenatal vitamin is my personal choice for it's very complete coverage of vitamins and minerals we all require daily and many of us, without even realizing, have been lacking for longer than we have had buggy troubles. I suggest a long with the topical, and oral pharmaceutical methods used daily, make sure to add your super vitamins and skin health supplements such as vitamin c, callogen, and calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Our skim is the first line of defense and seems to be the weakest link in the forces we have to combat the bugs that Satan sends. Research the tissue and blood cell support elements as well as your immune health boosters. A nutritionist or dietician may be able to help a ton by getting comprehensive blood levels of every vitamin mineral etc you currently have, and show you the exact points of deficiency or lacking.

Lastly I want to throw this little bit in: I personally had to stop the antibacterial soap cleansing of my skin because I learned that prehistoric people did not struggle with this disease due to their healthy skin flora. There are so many bacteria and microscopic helpers that are also bugs and live on us without us ever realizing the defense they provide by eating and eliminating a ton of things that are a potential threat to us as well as their happy home in our pores. When we systematically remove these helpers, it's very hard to ever get that back. I'm going to do a bit of research on that note. Im now on a mission of possible clay, or volcanic ash mud type skin therapies that can reintroduce good bugs into my skin microbiome and hopefully give me an advantage over the rapid repopulations I see daily. Basics is the key I'm thinking as of late. Nature and dirt is all people had b4 modern chemistry and the bugs were never heard of till recent times. I'm gonna focus on that concept for now to keep me busy and not crazy!!

Linda: I am a retired medical librarian. Some friends of mine with scabies have asked me to search this for them and I have in turn asked them for feedback on what they have discovered. A British study in the 1940s showed that 3/4ths of the mites are on the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers. I found and purchased for them a cheap (less than $20) 45 power hand microscope on the Internet. They claim they can see the mites with it. From the feedback they have given me, they say the various things like Ivermectin, Permethrin, Neem, clove oil, Nu-Stock, hydrogen peroxide with borax for the most part eradicated almost all of the mites from the body areas outside the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers. They tell me with the hand microscope, they could actually see that the mites burrowed UNDER their fingernails to escape some of the treatments, or under the cuticles, or under the thickest skin of the hands like where the knuckles attach to the hands. They said they have finally focused on using the various chemicals on those areas with nitrile gloves or long plastic glove, especially at night while still eradicating the mites elsewhere on the body. They have struggled with this for five years, apparently with Norwegian scabies form of this. From their last report several months ago, they had not eradicated the mites, but focusing on the arm to finger area has cut down the pin pricks on the rest of the body. I hope this feedback from them might help you.

Any way, on your advice I blasted them with a hairdryer this morning and they have gone but I have made my skin very red and I blasted them like 1 hour ago. Do you think this is necessary? I have been working with someone who has scabies. They also had trouble with reinfestation. They indicate that the mites get under the thick skin on the hands and under the fingernails and cuticles. I purchased for them a cheap 45 power pocket microscope on the Internet and they claim they can see the mites with. From the research that I found, and medical journal indicated that about 3/4 of the mites are on the arms, wrist, hands, and fingers. They have said they have used nitrile glove at night to cover their hands and wrists with various things like clove oil, Nu-Stock, Permethrin, and Neem with diatomaceous earth. From last I talked to them, they still are having reinfestations despite those tactics. They seem to think that the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers appear to them to be the hardest area to eradicate the mites and that is where they think the reinfestations are coming from.

Did you just use it for the clothes, bedding, etc. or it you were in a sauna for those temperatures, how long. I don't want to pass information on to people who might be harmed using it.

Table of Hot Water Scalding Temperatures and Times:

Water Temperature Setting Exposure Time Effects of Exposure to Hot Water at High Temperatures on adult skin

Suggest you read the book written by Ron L. Hubbard who came up with a sauna detox for his LSD friends. They were in the sauna for hours on end... for weeks, and using flushing niacin.

Excuse my reply, but you hit a nerve. Your chart is about hot water, my experience is about a sauna.

Sauna will not work. Scabies burrow into your skin. If you enter a sauna, your skin temperature will not get hot enough deep down. To get to kill temperature, your deeper layers of skin will need to go above 122'F. That temperature would result in skin burns.

I'm a huge fan of saunas, but not as a scabies cure.

If you go back in the EC archives you will read where I cured my skin mites with my FIR sauna after my doctors failed. A FIR sauna penetrates your body by 1 1/2", and that is the reason I converted my Finish sauna to a FIR years ago. I did this procedure after I read where mites die at 120 degrees.

Brian, I love you, but you are putting out stuff that you have no clue. I have been in sauna's in Finland that were above 180 degrees and got a certificate to prove it.

DAVID, I have already written my protocol several years ago and it is in the EC archives. It is long and complex because you have to keep treating the newly hatched eggs. Clothes, bed clothes have to be collected daily in a plastic bag and washed in scalding water. You are going to have to get your sauna to 160-180 and stay for 30 to 40 minutes. A rough mitt is needed for your shower to scrub away the critters into the drain. This procedure will take about two months. Wish you well.

Not worth taking a chance on bedding because it only takes ONE pregnant female to start the nightmare all over again. I LOVE your overview --- your belief it's not crucial for sanitizing the bedding, carpeting etc. And that 3 days without feeding they die. If a person did go to a clean environment for a time, wouldn't he or she bring a population under the skin that would be brought along? I feel I'd come back and the critters under my skin would come with me. Re-infesting clothes, linens back home which was rid of eggs, etc after the 3 days.

But, it's the most hopeful thought I've ever heard!

Hello,

I have a confirmed case of scabies and it has been 8 months of trying to get rid of it. I have tried everything i.e., medicines and natural treatments but none of these cure it only temporary fix. The disease has gone above my neck and is in my hair and I have had them on my face as well. This has been the challenge. I copied down a recipie from Ted's Earth Clinic and wanted to know if this will kill the mites in my hair as well. I'm a little reluctant to use DMSO because I heard controversial things about it. Here is Ted's recipie: Also, have done the Borax & peroxide rinse in the hair. It helps but does not cure it. Below is Ted's recipie. Any other advice would be welcomed. I am at my wits end with this and suffering greatly. A response would be appreciated.

Questions:

1. How do you measure 2.5%, 4% or 5% I.e. tablespoons or teaspoons?

2. how long do you leave it on and for what duration time?

3. Does this treatment get put on the body as well as the scalp?

PLEASE ADVISE.

Ted's comment: All oils are carrier oils, but their penetrant ability is limited, except for DMSO...I have found castor oil mixed with DMSO to be good - 25% castor oil and 75% DMSO. Then you can mix it with mustard powder, mustard oil, or d limonene at, say, 2.5%. That will take care of killing the mites. Plus, you add, say, 4% or 5% lavender oil. They're the approximate numbers I calculate

The colostrum molecule is too large to be absorbed after the intestinal wall becomes fully formed. The colostrum has an oil attached to get into the blood. A 21oz jar costs $52 shipped. Safely use the hottest heat on your blow dryer to dry the skin each night before sleeping. It stops the itch and kills the mites. Use rubbing alcohol after your shower on mite areas. This does not kill mites. This is what hospitals use to clean. Clean your vacuum and the filters. Vacuum every single day. Yes, cleaning sucks. You will keep busy, have a clean home, and the mites will go away. Apply baby oil your entire body every single day after the shower or bath. You will have a soft body after feeling horrid from mites on the body. Do not wear the same clothes twice for three weeks. Let me know how you feel?

3/3/2023 After 3rd outbreak, duscovered this site. Soak was great help. took step further and made "mud bath" paste of 1 cup diatomaceous earth, 2Tblsp Borax powder, 2 Tblsp hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 cup warm water plus additional warm water slowly added to make brownie thick paste. sitting in dry tub/shower covered body hairline to toes with thin coating of mud avoiding eyelids and lips. let dry 30 minutes then showed off. repeated daily while continuing recomnended household cleaning and sanitation practices. Legs, arms and face totally clear after a week. continued daily "mud bath" another week to be sure any eggs hatching or nymphs were killed off. hope this gets a view. diemateous earth kills scabies and insects and is recommended as carpet treatment but inhaling dust not good. tying up diatomaceous earth in water based paste is the key.

Do you use regular bleach for the baths or non-chlorinated bleach. Also, please indicate the ratio of bleach & peroxide I.e., 1 cup bleach etc. Thank you!

I used regular bleach...like Chlorox.

chlorinated

Not sure if "non-chlorinated" bleach is real bleach. I put one or two cups of bleach in the bathtub, about the same hydrogen peroxide, then fill up the tub.

I am not sure for what purpose you have to reduce meat and carbs. If Bill and Ted has said it, there is should be a valid reason for it. In any case, if you need nutrition. Take Spirulina 2 - 4 capsules a day. Start with 2. It will supply all the nutrition you need except vitamin C, Vitamin E. Good Health

Kevin: I had the same problem. Studying all the condemnations confused me. I had $2,000 in the bank and I was starving because I was afraid to eat anything. Then I discovered the solution, zeta potential. High zeta potential creates an atmosphere where cells thrive and all pathogens perish. Any food that increases zeta potential is good. Raw food and live ferments have enzymes. Organic and grass fed foods have bioactive minerals. Live enzymes and bioactive minerals increase zeta potential. For example you can eat a raw organic strawberry but not drink pasteurized orange juice. You can eat grass fed hamburger raw or rare but not cooked regular hamburger. Concentrates like raw honey and dessicated liver are more convenient and less expensive. Google raw food and superfood videos. I take 85% raw organic concentrates and 15% raw grass fed and wild harvested animal concentrates. If this is something that you would like to try reply back and I'll give you all the properly prepared products from reputable companies highly recommended by naturopath doctors that I take, the dosages, and instructions.

Could anyone tell me what substances they use?

Their lifecycle?

For starters, I would like to thank everyone who posted material. Knowing I was not alone was the only thing that kept me and my family from quitting this earthly existence. The tips helped me craft the all out war I waged to get my life and household back. Some links I had found, though I digested it all and incorporated it into this posting. Http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/scabies4.html Http://www.topix.com/forum/health/scabies/TS4TUAOIOMU0HFANQ Http://mypreciousthingz.blogspot.com/2012/06/my-deadly-scabies-experience.html (excuse the errors in ingredients caused by iPad auto complete spelling. The amount of info I am entering is a lot) Also excuse the possible repeat of paragraphs, Or minor organization problems, I am not able to re-live this experience as long as it would take to properly edit this entire write up. I organized this as best possible in 2 writing sessions.

Materials (things I used, for methods/application see detail below or look at posts from others)

Drop cloths (plastic) for furniture (pack of 3 best value at Walmart) Tape to secure drop cloths on furniture Tack mats (use shelf paper upside down, taped to floor with blue tape) Clean room tack mats avail online, but sometimes hard to get quickly delivered. Swiffers Bleach wipes Clorox cleanup Latex gloves, disposable one use only Ziplock bags Marker Towels small (Walmart has 12 for $15 in the car wash isle, I used these for the showers instead of washing lots of large towels after one use Towels, medium ( hair, showers) Bleach for laundry wash Scotch packing tape to collect bugs (clear is good for microscope review, can bring samples to doctor) Lice gel treatment - took to using this on whole body, then shower. Walmart had large bottles. Cleaned and reused combs, was nice to have a stable of clean combs to grab. Rx permethrin RxTriamcinolone. 1% Rx Hydrocortisone 2.5% just caused caking of cream on skin and caused patient to just feel hot. Sarna skin original cream (normal has like. Cooling camphor in it, sensitive has no cooling gent. Cooling gents like c phor in creams are not well tolerated by kids, they tend to get cold and cannot tolerate term until bath, even warm bath water is colder when the creamed skin hits the bath. Sarna skin sensitive cream, better for kids. Sulfur soap. Sulfur soap felt nice on skin, but scaled up the shower door with residue. Hand sanitizer Orange oil Tea tree oil Coconut oil Sulfur cream 10%(best was de la cruz sulfur ointment posada de azure 10%) best cost was Walmart or cvs. Mothballs or moth ice Vacuum bags or space saver bags Trash bags Foot powder borax bran iodide ( Walgreens) Walgreens fast acting odorless analgesic crime, trolamine salicylate 10%, inactive ingredient aloe barbadensis leaf extract, Cheryl alcohol, glycerin, mineral oil, potassium phosphate, propyl paraben steric acid, triethanolamine, water, (did not work as well as muscle rub to quit the bug skin sensation) Muscle rub ultra strength Walgreen s brand (active ingredients: camphor 4%, menthol , methyl salicylate 30%', inactive ingresdientss: carbomer, dis odium EDTA, glyceryl lstearate SE, lanolin, ploys ornate 80, potassium hydroxide, steric acid, trolls mine, water Concepts This is ALL OUT WAR. It will have costs, waste generation and some casualties lost. Get a calendar, note dates of treatment, doctor visits, any other details of the day: what treatments were done This will help you remember ( this situation often feels like Groundhog Day, lonely, hard work, volume of things to do) Note any creams used on whom and number of times per day of showers, creams, oils, etc When something changes for better or worse or to show progress the calendar visual is very helpful It also helps as a communication tool with doctors who do not know how you feel and do not understand the depression, manic feelings and urgency that the patient feels. It helps guide the discussion. It helps they understand you situation timeline. Push for immediate appt s with dermatologist or other doctors, the delay in a dermatologist appt caused some of the explosion of this population after the primary doc timed the treatments wrong. Dermatologists like the easy schedule of their practice (primadonas) , often they see no urgency (until of course you are in their office and they see you then they act ingratiatingly urgent. Otherwise be prepared that most doctors don't care or get it or understand the disease. They are detached and just following a script, despite very contagious and the need for the patient to stay away from work and daycare. If you don't get the treatment right the first time, permethrin treatments Rx is expensive because the pharmacy coverage is considering one tube per month. Despite requirement to use it in one day and then a week layer again all one day. There are a lot of out of pocket expenses here. Minimize your costs by managing the care provider, be firm, tell them what you need don't expect them to know or understand the strict all-out-warfare protocols. Make sure doctor knows to prescribe one tube for each person in house, even if the other family members are not seen. All housemates need treatment. Rx only covers a tube per person. Get greedy to request or force another tube, if you spill it, you won't have enough. If they won't prescribe for a spouse, call the spouses doctor immediately, tell the doctor what was diagnosed and what you were prescribed and get them to call in a prescription for the other family members. There are different permethrin manufacturers. The Targets pharmacy permethrin (Actvis mid atlantic llc brand) was more liquidy and easier to spread. Cvs (Perrigo brand) pharmacies have more creamy, thicker application. Harder to spread and cover everything. Disability coverage by employer for adult is helpful to cover child care issues. Child cannot mix with other kids when infected. Dermatologists charge to complete employer forms for disability coverage. My child and I had scabies, she could not go to school. At least I got the doctor to understand that I should be kept home with scabies and not impact my coworkers. Being able to care for my child when no other care was available was helpful. Did not have vacation available to use. Dermatologist do not know how to fill company disability forms out. Ensure you carefully check the paperwork. Ensure they know they cannot charge you for incorrectly completing the paperwork. Do not let them go or leave their office until you submit the paperwork via fax or make them fax it, look it over for correctness yourself, and get your company nurse or hr rep to approve the paperwork. Dermatologists take their time correcting their errors and it can affect your employers system, discipline tolerance, etc. Nurse practitioners at work who know your case through hr can help prescribe follow ups if needed because of a negligent Dermatologist. The disruption of sleep during this infestation also affects your mind and mental state. Realize that you are the only advocate for your child. No one else cares about your kid unless you make them act. Dermatologist just want you and your infested cloud out of their office. You are there because you are sick, they would rather have patients with appointments for Botox or other high dollar treatments. General actions: Couches & mattresses & seats wiped with bleach wipes Heat treat everything in dryer Everything in bags (all toys, all clothes, rugs, pillows, blankets, ) Vacuum bags (space saver bags) with moth balls Full utilization of washer /dryer, use and schedule with little down time. I even woke up through the night to do another load. All toys that cannot be wiped need to be put away in bags for 1-2 months or more. Kid won't miss it. Kid to take a bath, with three oil treatment Keep asking them if they are itchy Bleach garage floor, entry steps Bleach driveway or other approach Control areas of clean laundry, everything is one way, if it falls on the floor or touched some untreated thing, it goes back to the beginning of the treatment process. We had one bedroom for washed clothes, stuff. Treatment bags or toys in bags were in garage Furniture use was managed to minimize cleaning certain areas everyday. Laundry baskets were either wiped or if collapsible, they were placed in dryer then post treatment used for clean clothes. Collapsible laundry baskets from ikea were more durable than 99cent store. Both fit in Dryer. Clean treated Laundry baskets did not touch floor where dirty laundry or other infested area They would carry clean clothes sheets then collect the sheets the next day and go to garage and get treated. Garbage bags also were used for collecting laundry in waiting. My thought was that critters that could weaken and drop off would then attach to feet, socks, other items and cling to life. If they were stuck in a bag waiting for washing the. They were contained. Always think CONTAINMENT, LIKE OUTBREAK! Stay away from used areas +3 days (most info says these things die in 24 hours without a meal, but I have experienced different and some web info cites studies where female mites lived 96 hours! ) Razors and Luffas one use or bleach treat Combs bleach treated. Pillows mattresses covered in plastic cases. (bed bath beyond) Furniture contained in plastic drop clothes. Car seats had to be treated or quarantined to stop bug life cycle. Car seats that could not be left for a week without use has to be covered. Plastic Drop cloths were disposable, or beach towels one use cover and wash in hot. All day work agenda is to tackle the mountain of household items to clean, treat, heat treat, bag and wipe. And swiffer at least 3x a day Replace tac mats, use tac mts to wipe feet, deduce floor debris, tracking, travel of bugs. Wash clothes in very hot Increase water heater temp Wash clothes inside out many times. Wash all socks and underwear in hot with bleach or agents Contain shoes in bags with moth ice Heat treat shoes as possible Shoes and clothes may shrink, casualties of war. Contact potential affected people: hotels, baby sitters, schools, close family. Tell them what to watch for so they can act on treatment. Stay away from hospitals, eldercare centers, scabies is very contagious and tough to manage in those facilities. Protect your loved ones by keeping away from them. Keep samples each day of anything found. Mark in dated bags, location taken from This also helped gauge when things get better. Our experience was many relapse episodes unfortunately. After fighting the initial time it got better but then the backlash of not properly containing clothes, hair, etc. Caused a relapse. I realized after doing everything the doctor said for weeks, that I felt bites on feet and back where my hair had just been combed out. My scalp was not itchy, but whatever was dropping onto my back in microscopic size was a vector. Plus my husbands shirts might be dropping mites who then lived. We found the vectors to be hidden in our hair, scalp, floors. Once we attacked the scalp spot on top of the kids head and the hair bands and the increased frequency of swiffer (so glad we don't have carpet! ) Treated hair Contained dry cleaning shirts Swiffer until the swiffer sheets are clean Tied hair in buns for over 8 months Then final change toward recovery and improvement was when contained hair and floors and clean room criteria. Meds or skin treatments Rx: Permethrin 5% a tube per adult, some left over from kids tube apply for neck to toes, get under nails and in ALL spaces, cracks. They say 8 hours, but in one treatment towards the end of many unsuccessful treatments, we left it on for 24 hours. Permethrin also had Cooling tingly affect, unsure if this was nerve response or the meds acting. We also did lice body shampoos Lice gel treatment - took to using this on whole body, then shower. Walmart had large bottles. Cleaned and reused combs, was nice to have a stable of clean combs to grab. Dermatologistskept trying to soothe skin with Rx for: Triamcinolone. 1% Hydrocortisone 2. 5% just caused caking of cream on skin and caused patient to just feel hot. Dermatologist office also tried to sell Saran for double the Walmart cost. $20 a bottle, I returned it, I would have guessed then that they resell possibly used and returned bottles. They were not surprised I returned the bottles or that I was angry at the rip off. Sarna skin original cream (normal has like. Cooling camphor in it, sensitive has no cooling gent. NOTE: Cooling agents like camphor in creams are not well tolerated by kids , they tend to get cold and cannot tolerate term until bath, even warm bath water is colder when the creamed skin hits the bath. Sarna skin sensitive cream, better for kids. Sulfur soap felt nice on skin, but scaled up the shower door with residue. Multi layer treatment, (recommended by web folks who said permethroin did not work. ) made black things come out of skin. Put in layers over whole body. Get help, for your back. Hand sanitizer Orange oil Tea tree oil Blue magic Coconut oil Left these on for about an hour then showered and sometimes followed with sulfur cream It is killing these bugs but also Both oils and sulfur creams caused the skin to expel black stuff. I agree this must be the bugs dead and leaving. I Liked tea tree oil and it soothed the skin. Orange oil smells nicer, bugs did NOT like orange and tea tree oils. Enjoyed the thought of winning small battles with orange and tea tree oils. Also the sulfur cream. Felt like they were suffering. Some of these smell bad, segregate clothes you will wear with these creams and oils. Eventually the sulfur smell and tea tree smells go away, after many washes, but the relief is worth the smell. Sulfur cream, get help for back. Some blogs said to put on for a hour. In some cases I got desperate and left it on all day. Again calendar helps keep facts straight. At some point my trusted doctor and my replacement good dermatologist agreed that the mites were likely not there and I was dealing with nerve sensations. Long after the initial scrapes of diagnosis, and treatments, I saw bumps and lesions. I had 3 biopsies, each time they cut 3 spots, 9 cuts and none showed infection. I paid a lot for the biopsies and their analysis. Learned eventually that skin healing response can produce these bumps. It is part of the response to the medicine and also the bugs. Also going bck to work, some of my clothes were tight and the skin response to tight clothes was to create its own lesions nd bumps. At this point I resorted to treating the sensations. Some of the web posts stated: kill scabies in five minutes..... So I tried it. Rub down with muscle rub and then go take a bath with foot powder. Materials listed below: Foot powder borax bran iodide ( Walgreens) Walgreens fast acting odorless analgesic crime, trolamine salicylate 10%, inactive ingredient aloe barbadensis leaf extract, Acetyl alcohol, glycerin, mineral oil, potassium phosphate, propyl paraben steric acid, triethanolamine, water, (did not work as well as muscle rub to quit the bug skin sensation) Muscle rub ultra strength Walgreen s brand (active ingredients: camphor 4%, menthol , methyl salicylate 30%', inactive ingresdientss: carbomer, dis odium EDTA, glyceryl lstearate SE, lanolin, ploys ornate, 80 potassium hydroxide, steric acid, troloamine, water Notes on kids Sarna skin cream (normal has like. Cooling camphor in it, sensitive has no cooling agent. ) Cooling agents like camphor in creams are not well tolerated by kids , they tend to get cold and cannot tolerate them until bath, even warm bath water is colder when the creamed skin hits the bath. Kid management: explain bug infestation Ask if they can help, kids love to help swiffer. Set standard that the "doctor says" must do medicines, creams, baths, cleaning, toy a quarantine time, etc Buy them a swim cap for hair treatments, character caps help too. They can use wipes to help clean while you use Clorox wipes They can help clean bathtub No stuffed toys for a while, they are " in the laundry" Use google images to demonstrate the sickness. Notes: on additional controls and responses. Known to infest just skin, not scalp, however, I found an infestation on my daughters scalp (3 yo) only infants supposedly get scalp infestation....... Hmmmm..... We had scalp stuff. Also noticed that it felt like critters on my back falling from hair. Like biting on my back immediately 10 mins post shower and lice treatment on hair. Felt like these had gotten into our hair by retreating to un-permethrin treated areas also hair bands/ scuunccii on floor had collected and harbor end critters. Mom Treated scalps of mom and daughter with permethrin, told doctors, although we were told it was not needed. Shortened daughters hair to minimize combing about shoulder length. Pediatrician Rx sklice for scalp treatment, new technique and was $80 with prescription coverage. Also felt like critters on floor from clothes, skin, wherever, and they keep cycling onto person Noticed that doing laundry, I felt bites on my feet start when I got near laundry pile. Contained husbands dry cleaning inside large plastic bags so no critters could drop and move. Quarantined this clothing in garage with more tarp underneath. Purse and gym bags with cleats, heart rate straps, watches, etc all infected. All isolated, treated, etc. Sensations Felt itchy, crawly, ears, top of head, nose, toes, armpits, waistband. Bra bands, etc. Permethrin felt cooling when applied. I felt it more than husband. The relief sensation was comforting and addicting. This may be caused by nerve agent nature of the drug. As nerves healed over time, tingling and bug sensation would occur. When done, wear loose clothes for 6-8 months or tight clothes will cause skin response similar to scabies, lesions that is simply an immune response. Took months for sensations to stop. The muscle cream and foot soap bath really worked like a switch to stop the tingling buggy feeling. It was terribly uncomfortable to be so cold and wet, brutal treatment, but worked. Root cause investigation thoughts: Unsure if we only had scabies or a multi infestation with other mites. Massage June 6, 2012, then went to work out. Masseuse was rookie, concerned about transfer to heart rate monitor. Possible June infection from hawaii trip Possible gym infection, possible daycare route, Daughter and mother worst infected Daughter and mother waking up all night when sensation and biting occurred. Also think there were body lice in play here Daycare friends had traveled possibly infected us, but not honest enough to alert others to the risk, No one in our house got any infection here by visiting. Baby sitters were fine. Daycare provider had heavy pubic scratching and also hospital astray hospital cancer. Also worried about work chair, put raincoat over chair and switched chairs. Bart train seats, infidelity, all possiblities that were considered. I think there was scabies, plus some other mite from the driveway fir trees. Used to get bites when sitting in pickup truck bed that has fir tree cones and debris from trees. Twice found visible bugs, not ants coming from driveway toward garage and laundry, liked sweaty clothes. Scabies are not visible, so these were other mites. Once floor controls and hair scalp was addressed, all bites stopped. Sensations continued, but camphor creams helped stop brain response. Mental Dermatologists smug over initial first treatment by primary care doc because it was a 2 week treatment, Corrected with 1 week treatment, but they also refused to accept there was another reinfection. Bites on back and feet, they said, it's not scabies, cannot help you. Second opinion dermatologist said scabies. Also other bugs were on driveway and floor, and scalp, initial dermatologist and other doctors seemed hopeless that they could not help.. This is when I realized it was all out war to quarantine everything's movement more tightly than the TSA at the airports. Doctors Refused to consider scalp, until pediatrician saw what I saw. So we switched to sklice Rx. Pediatrician was helpful and had really seen scabies so follow up bumps were discounted and patient at ease. then dermatologists were bullish when not considering the comfort level of patient, excreted bugs appearing were dismissed as dirt/debris. Bully doctors would discard the patient, prescribe more creams, just to make more money, don't care about patient. They left patient to mentally suffer. Sometimes felt like there was no future life away from scabies condition. Hopeless, very suicidal and very risky. As if they did not understand this was skin expressing the bugs out. Black things appear on these patients as commonly anecdotes on the Web, people don't all have the same story by chance. This phase exists. And the doctor treats them as crazy people. As if these black things are in their minds only. As if derms don't get that there is stuff and cannot explain what it is to a patient. They need tone able to understand and help the patient brought. Now I clearly know more than any dermatologist about scabies. That first derm office should be disciplined by the med review board. Skin issues also followed with fungus or other immune response lesions that were scary to experience as a potential comeback of the bugs. Web logs were helpful. Felt not alone. Good tips Some people wrote what their experience was as opposed to actual science, but it was helpful. ( e.g., one post said they saw moving black bugs under microscope. I found this questionable. The debris was likely bugs but they were only coming out because skin was expressing the debris. I never saw live specimens. )

Don't know were to begin. This is my 3rd scabies attack. This first 2 times, I didn't have a dog. I hate to blame him but he is a contributing factor. I used Premethrin Cream 5%with good results the last 2 times. 2 out of the 3 times I got infected was from a gym mat.

I am now suffering with this last bout for the past 3 months. I am devoting most of my life to this battle. I believe scabies is an auto immune issue. I read that people lik me have too many T cells and not enough B cells and our skin can't fight off the infection.

I am doing much what you have said and very depressed. I wonder if there is somewhere I could go in house to receive in house treatment. Will do anything to wake up from this nightmare. I do not sleep in my bed with my significant other. He has 0symptoms. I sleep on the sofa covered with plastic and wash the sheets covering the sofa in hot water with borax and dry in hottest temp for 1 hr daily. My dog, that I do not touch anymore without gloves, and I will be taking Ivermectin at the same time and moving out the house. I have bought plastic shoes, and new clothes for the move. I am retired and fortunately do not have to work. I feel for those younger, and working and on a budget, because I can barely stand it and have the resources to deal with it

General Feedback
Posted by Weallitch (Portland, Or, Usa) on 02/27/2013

This is more of just about curing scabies in general and not about a specific cure.

Hey Folks, I think Scabies has hit Epidemic/Pandemic levels.

Scabies is NOT an STD, it is extremely easy to contract. You can get it by sitting on the chair as someone that has it, you can get it by shaking hands, by hugging someone, even sitting on a toilet seat.
-- Think about it, scabies like to live in protected spots of our bodies, and really love the skin between our fingers because of that. So, anything you touch can become infected and then the next person that touches said thing can catch it.

IF you have scabies you need to notify your local health department and tell them that you think it is an epidemic! They might just try to tell you to get treated and not want to talk to you but DONT let them do that!
--Health departments need to start keeping track of outbreaks and notifying/educating the public in general about scabies!
**If you're worried about it being traced back to you, give a fake name when you call or email them from an email address you set up just for that purpose. (IT's what I'm doing)

To really stop scabies EVERYONE needs to be treated, this means you(A) everyone(B) that you've been in contact with, everyone(B) that has touched something you've been in contact with, everyone(C) that has been in contact with people/things from (B), everyone(D) that has been in contact with people/things from (C) and so on.

IF this doesn't happen people that treat themselves will just get it again.

Like all of you here, I have scabies and like a lot of you, I've tried curing them without success. I've had them for a few years, tried treating multiple times and haven't been able to get rid of them. Either that or, I've been immediately reinfected by people around me.

I myself have a ton of shame around the fact that I've had it so long and not been able to get rid of it. I also have a ton of shame knowing that I've infected friends/family and random people around me even though I've tried to minimize my contact with people. I've massively cut down on my social life and spent the vast majority of the last few years in hiding. I just told an amazing man today that I can't have a relationship with him for 'personal reasons' because of these microscopic vampires.

Hell, I've been suicidal over it!!!

I'm quite frankly sick and tired of shaming myself over this and have decided to stop letting these pests run my life.

I've told friends, family and even written notes to clients (I work in private houses) saying whats up, the signs etc and out right had people say they didn't think they had it even though they obviously did. (IE: Animals CAN get it! Two clients had dogs that were itching like crazy, put on medication and the clients didn't believe me when I told them, even though I gave them links to info online from trusted sources).

Because of this I finally decided to contact my local health department and am going to force them to do something about it.

You should also!

I stumbled onto psorinum in another group for sarcoptic mites. I asked a homeopathic doctor about it and they said that psorinum is like a polycrest remedy in that it can bring out other issues that you have either going on or were not active in your body. Do you know anything about that? I wouldn't think 30C or 30X potency would have that action. I have been dealing with mites of some sort for over 2 years. I have tried sulfur soaps and creams, using borax in the laundry, calendula gel or cream, coconut oil, colloidal silver soap, gel, and spray, chlorhexidine soap, neem shampoo and bar soap (yukky), homeopathic Lycopodium 200C, homeopathic sulfur 200C, Epsom salts, and I am now trying essential oils. I mix coconut oil with menthol, coconut oil with oregano oil, tea tree oil and menthol, and am have some minor successes with the essential oils and also Epsom salts. I purchased some psorinum awhile ago and have that and other potencies. If it works that fast ...???!!! Can you share more of your experience with it? Please?

My son and i have been taking a hot bath with oatmeal, & tea tree oil also adding a little peppermint body wash. it was calming our itchyness to an extent & i put petroleum jelly on us before bed time, my son was able to actually sleep!! well yesterday i decided to add some vinegar; & let me just say that was a huge mistake!!!!! we itched all night and today we are itching like crazyyyy!!! not to mention we woke up with more red itchy bumps!!!! my son: on his knuckles, inside of his hand, up his neck (which wasnt happening before) & between his fingers! and now he keeps scratching his head!!!! and me: around my ankles, bottom of my legs, my thighs, & between my fingers.

im thinking that the vinegar made things increase? im sticking with the petroleum jelly though, & use gloves on our hands all day and tape around feet and ankles and i will be trying new things as well to see what works, i wont give up untill these things are gone!!!

Epsom Salts
Posted by Shelly (Las Vegas, Nv) on 09/05/2012

There should be a like button! Sorry for my english and spelling is not the best. Thanks for sharing. I read about epsom salt working for scabies. The mites I have seem to not be phased by it. I think they are bird mites. So far only lemon essential oil is killing them in my hair. Nothing else has like permethrin or like substances. They are not phased by coconut oil, amonia or even sulfur! I think actually the adult mites are not phased by the sulufur. MAybe newly hatched are.

The bleach baths also work on the non adult ones. Very few things work when bird mites are in your scalp. I'm so confused. I dont know what I have the more I think of it. I tried borox, sulfur, bug spray hot bath, heair dryer, toothpaste before the recent post for tooth paste, tea tree oil, turpintine oil, dawn dish liquid, neem oil and soap, lemon greass oil, apple cider vinager, ivermectin horse past, Flagyl pills, bitter melon pills, olive leafe pills, Dr, Hulda Clarcks parasite cleanse with black walnut, wormwood and freash grownd cloves, sauna, two hour soak in _____ baking soda deteregent for laundry, Quassia Amuara from a lice treatement, peroxide (peroxide does get them out of my ears when I leave in for 20 min) Diatomatious earth in bedding, carpet, hair and cloths, clove oil (made my scalp peel in huge chunks) Lysol spray and toilet bowl cleaner, barbarsol, alcholol 91%, finger nail polish remover, sun laundry detergent with color safe bleach as reccamended by the morgellons page, pine tar soap, pennyroyal oil, windex on the scalp soap for dogs, advantix permetherin 45% for dogs : (

Next on the list to try, Teds Borax in water, drank all day, colloidal silver, actual pine-tar-resin, actual Balsalm of Paru oil or resin, boiled wood chips from Quassia Amaura boiled strong in water then that water simmered in oil till the water is gone and oil remains, Still using the neem oil as it messes with their reproductive cycle.

The most valuable thing you mentioned is the faith. I KNOW I will get over this scalp mite infestation! I just have to make it happen! I have a ton of lemon oil in my hair now and it is burning! ITs near the point of panic but not there yet. If it gets to be too much, NEVER use water to rinse, douce with coconut. Olive or baby oil to dilute. Learned the hard way and the water opened the pores to more inteanse burning!

Ted, if there is ever a situation where one is running out of options or ideas its here. I've tried nearly everything. Very tired now. Gonna to take a bleach bath but with out the bleach and using chlorine for swimming pools and Sodium cabonate not to be confused with sodium Bicarmonate. There is a difference. Seems like the carbonate works better.

There is no way I can heal this and not come back to post what will have worked.

later.

Find a lotion with Hypochlorous acid (0.018%) and Sodium chloride (0.06%) on Amazon. It is safe and effective and can be used on children. I used it on my 5 year old with Vaseline to suffocate them and we are mites free.

apply anti scabies cream as directed then follow up with treatment below:

start with your car, spray car with orange oil and alcohol mixture do not miss any areas, park in the sun and close all window do not return to car for 7 days.

Dry clothes and bedding, on high heat daily, be sure to spray entire living area with orange oil combined with rubbing alcohol daily. If you have carpet the orange oil will leave bleached out spots, make sure the orange oil scent overwhelms the alcohol in the mixture.

Be sure to remove all bedding, pillow cases, mattress covers etc, spray with mixture dry on high heat for at least 30 mins spray entire bed and do not sleep on bedwhile treating self and living areas for 7 days, sleep on the floor, also before going to bed cover entire bogy with orange and vaseline mixture for at least 3 days.

after seven days if possible spray entire living area of course then leave home for 2 weeks or more.

Sulphur
Posted by Swhit (Los Angeles, Ca, Usa) on 05/25/2012

There used to be a company that made a natural solution that worked great on these things but I believe the FDA shut them down.

Sulfur soap is an alternative you can buy in the 99cent stores or drug stores. 35% is best. Until you find it, soak in the tub with borax for an hour or so and you will sleep well but you have to keep doing it.

Hi, I have been reading every single post on scabies cures as I got them from my future step mother and I was really going through hell with these things!

I took the permithrin and it didn't appear to be working as they cleared and seemed to come back in my backside within the week. I took more and more (as I was worried about infecting people) and it seemed to keep them at bay, I then took ivermectin tablets first lot then 7 days later with permithrin(lyclear), we cleaned our flat everyday from the moment we realised, bagged our beds and furniture and bleached all day, let off 3 pemithrin bombs, washed everything and dried in hot dryer for min 30 minutes each day, washed clothes and soaked in tea tree oil and boiling hot water and washed toilet seat with bleach after every use. It cost a fortune! I seemed to be getting new nodules coming up on my behind again and on my arms. I was devastated. I then tried bleach baths with hydrogen pyroxide and then borax baths with hydrogen peroxide, and covered myself with clove oil and olive oil. The clove oil burned so badly it was terrible.

I then finally was referred to a dermatologist and he checked everything and said I didn't have scabies at all, by the way you cant see them at all, they are very very small and you can't see them running and they are not black, that must be something else, I was advised the new nodules coming to the surface and the severe itching as an allergic reaction to the permithrin, the sever itching and crawling feeling in my backside was also due to burning it with the soaks I was doing and the clove oil and the allergic reaction, so I stopped everything and then tried to repair my completely damaged skin. It is working, the bits I saw in the bath as I drained the water were dead skin cells, my backside is finally healing and I can now see where I have burnt it, and my nodules are disappearing. My major concern that the scabies weren't dying was incorrect, I had a severe allergic reaction to the permithrin and then I was burning my skin off with the bath soaks. I have been told the nodules may continue to show for up to a year as I have sensitive skin and I have damaged it so badly. I think I was going a little crazy and to be honest I was trying everything.

Once I stopped damaging my skin I have started to repair. My skin on my backside is now peeling off which is causing the itch. So please listen to your dermatologist, he has a microscope and could see if there were any burrows or scabies, there weren't, and I also had skin scrapings all on the new nodules that were appearing, all were clear and to be honest he was correct. the ivermectin tablets worked, so when you are diagnosed as clear, keep ensuring you clean thoroughly and ensure that you cant be reinfested. Do not visit people to infect them as it is just not a nice thing to do to anybody. And have hope that your skin is just repairing itself and has had an allergic reaction. I have read my story from 5 people on these forums, and I am hoping my story will help other people like me experiencing an allergic reaction to the pesticides to trust that you are free of these awful things and that you don't have to have bleach baths and burn your skin to get rid of them. Also tea tree oil did sooth the itch, but the clove oil has to be diluted as it burnt me so very badly.

Multiple Remedies

Jd, if I am the Tim you question. I used to always experience the "dryness" thing w/ tetracycline type antibiotics as opposed to the penicillin type. It's something to do w/ hydration at the cellular level. Do a few cups daily of filtered water w/ a pinch of sea salt in each to replace minerals. Steam therapy will help ease the bronchiole and the herb Mullein will soothe & heal. Take some probiotics (broad spectrum) to replace gut flora. Wait about two weeks and try the ACV again.

Your "reaction" could have something to do w/ candida die-off or herx. After yrs of debilitating struggle w/ undiagnosed fungal infection and getting worse, I tried the "foot bath zap" a few months ago and herxed for 4 days. My reaction was like yours, I became completely drained of energy and simply went into sleep mode for about 1 or 2 hrs. As for antifungal herbs, Grapefruitseed extract is the best imho. Caprylic acid or simply coconut oil is very good antifungal.

Hope this helps.

Permethrin
Posted by John (Tampa, Fl) on 10/25/2011

I am concerned about the percent permethrin mentioned in this article. I have used permethrin for many years for many purposes. The concentrated permethrin I have been able to buy is 2.5% or less; I mix a quart of concentrate with 25 gallons of water to treat grass or ground for fire ants and other pests. To treat clothing, everybody uses a 0.5% or .005 permethrin. Please revise the "permethrin helping cure" article.

Update:

Hi everyone. I want to first state that it seems everyone has different outcomes with their treatment of scabies. I used the Borax/H2O2 bath soaks for 4 days with no improvement of my rash. It got worse. The itching was relieved for approx. 4-6 hours after the bath soaks, but the rash continued to spread down my arms and legs and up my neck. On the 4th day we decided to try permethrin. That was yesterday. Today my rash is still visible but with great improvement. Nearly all redness is gone ( except in the severe areas) and most of the itch is gone as well. My skin feels like sandpaper where the bumps are but looks let irritated. I plan on using the second dose of perm in 7 days as directed on my script. I will update my post if anything has changed. I hope my post will help someone, anyone who is battling with this infliction.

God Bless.

Folks, I consider myself pretty medically minded but this type of scabies was quite difficult to eradicate. Read the article from Australia and if you're ready to try anything, go to a livestock feed store and get oral Ivermectin paste 1.87% for only 10 bucks (5 treatments). It is for cattle and horses but as long as you follow your weight calibration, you will be fine. The article suggests very difficult scabies require oral Iver on days 1, 2, 5, 6, 15, 16, 22 and 29. Check it out:

20 Mule Team Borax and borax powder should be the same thing: from the 20 Mule Team site:

20 Mule Team Borax is comprised of 99.5% pure borax, a naturally occurring mineral composed of sodium, boron, oxygen, and water. (The scientific name for borax is sodium tetraborate decahydrate.)

Cheers. Good luck!

Multiple Remedies
Posted by Pricilla (Houston, Tx) on 11/20/2011

After battling these little unseen monsters I finally was able to get rid of them. I initially thought they were nits but seeing that the lice treatments had not effects towards my symptoms and oddly had some eggs that were nothing like nit eggs it came to my concern that it was something different after our dog was confirmed to have a type of manges that is contagious towards humans and once it hops over it is considered scabies.

I desperately searched online and picked a little bit of here and there to find an immediate solution to the irritating issue. I was already following the regulations of making sure everything was thoroughly washed and dried in 2 cycles to make sure we did not continue to have issues but found out it was different procedures when it is diagnosed as scabies.

I faced my head down in the sink with hot water running and first grabbed the bottle of hydrogen peroxide and spread it evenly throughout my scalp to make sure the pores were open then I rubbed Borax all over head making sure I made the point to rub in (with gloves) thoroughly let it stand about 2 minutes before dumpling chlorine free clorox all over making sure to hit the scalp rubbed more borax in left the solution on for about 5 minutes still making sure I was facing down in the sink. After that I grabbed the citrus mouthwash (target brand) and put it all throughout scalp and hair (yes it does burn all over and more where you have scabs) left it on for 6 minutes and then washed roughly with steamy hot water (up to what you can tolerate) and then applied the Rosemary oil based shampoo by fairy tales lathered it in and washed out with warm water. I could definitely feel the difference instantly. I blow dried my hair thoroughly and went soundly to sleep. Thank you for the best solutions found on this website woo hoo!

I sprayed everything down with chlorine free bleach/ borax solution with a little water and washed all clothes and bedding with borax and have yet to see any type of reinfecting ;0) what a relief. It has been 2 weeks of nothing yupie!

O yea and by the way the tried getting to my hands and arms and they did manage to get some bites but were unsuccessful because I threw hydrogen peroxide left it on for 30 seconds rinsed then rubbed borax left it on for another 30 seconds then lastly threw the citrus mouthwash and the marks and redness went away.. The best solution ever!

Contracting Scabies

animals cannot get scabies. the mites can only live on human skin, and human skin alone. the only way to get scabies in the first place is by prolonged skin to skin contact. for example how a mother hugs her child more than once a day. shaking of the hand or one simple hug will not contract them. the scabies can only live without a host for 3 days. simply vacate your house for three days and they will be gone(from your home anyway). make sure you take treatment durring then so not to reinfest your environment.
