Has anyone studied Scabies habits. These creatures are very small and can go wherever they like when you apply any lotion etc. They are fond of getting under the eyelids, you should be able to feel them itching their way in and can stay there for hours. To stop infection from bacteria introduced by the insect some eyedrops recommend by a Pharmacist may be able to help .With the eyedrops in the eye you should feel the insects leave.

Have a plastic bottle 500ml with a trigger sprayer filled with a medium red wine 10.5% alcohol or better and spray all over the body. Keeping eyes closed a light spray to shut eyes will not hurt.Scabies will hide in all places so you will have to use your imagination.

The shower is a good place while doing this. Leave it on for as long as you feel comfortable with and then shower off. I have found this method to work very well with red wine a little more effective than the white. A cheap inexpensive four litre cask of medium red wine will be more than enough if you do not drink it.Having said that please do not drink too much of the cure.

Rubbing Alcohol

Scabies/Mites/bed bugs and Alcohol

Has anyone tried using diluted acohol on their lessions to kill Scabies/Mites/bed bugs? And how do you tell which one you could have? My oldest son (10) has thousands of bumps that I had been treating as an allergic reaction for a little more than 4 weeks now. And no one else was affected, until now. My younger son (5) has bumps in his underwear. Extremely worried because I now have a newborn, do not want her to get infected, and need to cure my sons.

EC: We're guessing you are referring to rubbing alcohol? Please correct us if we're wrong!

Scabies Feedback

I had two outbreaks of either a scabies mite attack or bird mite attack, but the doctor seems unable to conclusively diagnose me even after a skin biopsy and blood tests. By getting my house sprayed twice by an exterminator, cleaning the house more frequently and washing linens every day using Borax, and buying a new mattress, I have not had a third outbreak (yet). But I still have the itchy crawlies. So I am not sure if the mites are gone and that's just residual skin senstivity, or if I still have mites? If they are not biting...I hope that means they are gone.

I have isolated myself (and live alone) for the last 2 months. But my niece needs me to babysit while she goes through surgery. I am afraid I will pass whatever I have on to the baby if I still have mites.

Any good advice?

I hope you got better. I contracted bugs after going to the San Diego area. They went away once but came back again. Both times in the fall, October this year, late November last year. They don't bite my husband (so he says).Could be rat or bird mites, since they look for shelter from cold weather.

I saw a remedy for dog scabies from a girl that worked in a shelter. They covered the dogs in mayo. I know when my daughter was young we had to "smother" the head lice. They went away AFTER, I made my husband get the headlice treatment, same as us, even tho he claimed he did not have them. People are strange.

So this time I am having a more difficult time eradicating, but not giving up. Jesus saves! I think soaking clothing overnight will help. purchasing the steam dryer and washer, mainly to keep bugs out of them! One utube site admits the bugs in humans are epidemic and the Drs don't know what to do? It's a Channel 7 news report. Visit that, you'll realize your itchies are not the worst!

You most certainly could pass it on. Wear surgical gloves. Change them often.

I just want to remind you guys that be careful with online products for curing scabies. and most important thing is that you should see a dermatologist and get an accurate diagnosis first. All my family members were treated with permethrine 5% twice within 10 days according to a diagnosis by a nursepractitioner. But we have more rashes. actually only myself has a few rashes before treatment with the toxic medication...But finally we found out that the rashes were allergic reaction to the medication. But we did not know and freaked out and thought we have more scabies, so we desperately searched online and bought "AllStop" for scabies on line. This product is so irritating that we all devloped rashes all over. So we went to see dermatologists and they all told us that it is allergic reaction. And they do not think we have scabies, they said we don't have any tracks!

Scabies vs. Morgellons

Posted by Communicatingcenter (Helotes, Tx) on 09/17/2013

I fought what I thought was scabies for four months. A lot of the people on this site were describing similar symptoms.

If your scabies are visible, then they aren't scabies. If you are having symptoms of black specks, little skin-colored grains, sharp 'pebbles', splintery organisms and hair-like things coming out of your skin, I URGE you to research Morgellons. Do NOT use Wikipedia for information on this condition, as they are incredibly biased on the subject. There is a lot of misinformation out there to sort through.

If you have been fighting 'scabies' for more than a few months, or if you have been seeing organisms coming out of your skin, chances are you are experiencing Morgellons. You cannot kill Morgellons with scabies treatments.

I wish I had found out about this months earlier. Someone posted something similar on a scabies forum, and I ignored the information because a) I didn't want it to be true and b) the Wikipedia page was so biased as to not include any pathogenically based studies on the subject.

Do not despair--if this is what you have, you are one step closer to a cure by knowing what you're after.

Here is a link to a study on the subject http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3751012/

I suggest you visit a Morgellons website as well to read descriptions of the symptoms from people themselves. I repeat: don't let yourself get pulled in by misinformation.

How you can eradicate these ... mites (it is such a generic term used in English)?

I am referring to the bugs that carry the bacteria.

Could anyone tell me what substances they use?

Their lifecycle?

Scabies treatment - very very concentrated sea salt bath. I was able to kill scabies mites and their eggs within 2 hours using an extremely concentrated sea salt bath. You can also dissolve a lot of sea salt in a little bit of water and rub it over your entire body. Keep it on for 2 hours. Do not rinse the salt solution off yourself. You can then apply 100% tea tree oil all over your body. Remember to steam iron your bed, sheets and clothes so that you dont reinfect yourself. Remember the salt solution has to be extremely concentrated. It will be enough to completely kill mites and eggs.

Sea Salt Bath cured scabies in 4 days

I tried lots of things for my second bout of scabies, white vinegar spray, peroxide and DMSO spray, borax bath, everything worked for so long then plateaued, the vinegar spray (50% water/50% Vinegar) and peroxide (3% with DMSO) worked the best, applying 3 - 5 times a day, you could see them coming out of the skin with both products, but still not total annihilation of these blood-sucking mites after nearly 3 months. I read a 10 year old post about sea salt bath, well all done and dusted after 4 days, 100 liters of hot water (as hot as possibly stand) in tub and 1.5 kilograms of sea salt with little or no anti-caking agents as possible in AU Saxa sea salt was best. soaked for 10 minutes back and front, and both sides, left nothing un-soaked, even scrubbed skin to loosen top skin and open pores. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Silicon Dioxide

My message is I'm using a bedbug pesticide with silicone dioxide for scabies. It's a powder, I'm making it into a paste with water, rubbing it on skin. I hope it works. IS THIS HARMFUL? All it said was it would erritate skin.

For scabies, use sulfur with vaseline which I understand does the job. Can get the sulfur from some natural remedy pharmacies.

Yes, you are right, petroleum jelly chokes the mites and also causes the sulfur to penetrate deeper in the skin for more killing action.

Scabies:

This is what I did, and it worked.

The major problem was the scabies mites continued biting me and made it difficult to sleep. A minor problem was that I had other mites, ones that crawled in my hair, and others that crawled in my nose.

To kill scabies, I theorized that I had to keep something on my body all the time to kill the bugs and their eggs which hatch randomly, and it needed to be something non-poisonous and effective.

For me sulfur was the answer. I soaped my body with sulfur soap at the bugs' meal time, let it dry, coated myself with skin cream if my skin felt itchy and dry. Sometimes I did this twice a day, but I kept it on constantly. Sulfur has this advantage over permithrin, lindane, and ivermectin in that it has a comparatively low toxicity even though it does burn your eyes and makes you sneeze.

After four days, I felt only a few bites and little or no movement.

To aid the sulfur, I used tea tree oil full strength. I rubbed it on my hands and feet, legs and arms and anywhere else when I felt the buggers stinging me. Like clove oil, it has a short killing time. It doesn't last. However, unlike clove oil, it doesn't burn your skin at full strength and has a very low toxicity. Tea tree is a very effective "other" mite killer. It stopped the crawling mites at the first application. I used it in my hair, eyebrow (carefully) and in my nose (carefully).

Finally, I utilized a mix of hydrogen peroxide and borax to spray on furniture, bed, and floors to kill the stragglers. Just pour some hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle, put in some borax, shake, and spray. It is an effective killer, but doesn't last long.

Sulfur is very good to put on carpets. It lasts a long time and kills the mites.

Also, I enclosed my mattress, box springs, and pillows with mite proof encasements. You must do this to succeed. I washed and dried bed clothes at high heat every other day. On the non-wash days, I dried them in the drier for a long time at high heat to kill the mites. I never wore clothes more than once without washing and drying them.

Finally, if I had a dirty laundry item I needed to wear immediately, I microwave them for 80 or so seconds. This is for emergency use only.

I wish you well.

As a follow-up, I added some clove oil, eucalyptus oil, orange oil, neem oil, and turmeric to the tea tree oil base. The additions seemed to kill the mites on me more efficiently. From what I've read, neem oil and turmeric have been used in India to kill scabies inexpensively.

Also, I applied neem oil to my hair to help end infestations. Although it smelled like weird peanut butter, it worked.

As a second commentary, I have added Hart's dog and puppy shampoo for my hair. It controls and kills the fast moving mites. The sulfur has worked its wonder on the scab mites. I now go for a day or two or three without a bite. I still wear sulfur soap and oil on occasion, but that will soon be unnecessary. Just stick to the program.

I am over scabies completely. I do itch some, but it's from dry skin. To relieve that I drink water and apply lotion and take showers and use a minimum of soap to preserve body oils. I deduced that much of the itching misery I suffered during this ordeal was from dry skin. You can overdo the chemicals, especially when your skin nerves are sensitized. So back off the meds, and apply oil and water.

WORKED TEMPORARILY

As soon as I saw the Dudadiesel address in another post, I bought a 5 lb bag of sulfur for scabies... the sulfur calmed the itch the first night. Somewhat less the second night. By third and fourth, the itching under the sulfur is back like mad. I find that anything I try: permethrin, clove oil, heated cloth, Listerine, diatomaceous earth, peroxide work for a limited time. And same with the sulfur.

It sounds like you are being re-infested. Pay attention to who you are having physical contact with. You probably have contact with someone who is carrying mites or are going to visit some location where there is a frequent visit from someone carrying mites. You may need to isolate yourself from physical contact especially sleeping with another person in order to narrow it down.

Sulphur soap 10% commonly sold as acne soap with lanolin is the way to use sulphur; soap entire body and leave it on to penetrate and dry. Repeat day after day for 3 to 4 days. then take a break. repeat a week later.

PLEASE listen to me! I contacted scabies from a client in a health spa that I work in. I had NO idea what it was at first. A small rash, itchy on the palm of one hand. I am now 3 mos. into it and about to blow my brains out! We cleaned the bedding every day on 'sanitize' in my washer, cleaned everything and I took clorox baths with sulphur soap and sulpher cream. I STILL have it and the eggs and got new bumps off and on and trail marks. SO, I went back and read lots of things on the net and this is what I did and what has worked more than all the creams, oils, lotions, baths etc.

USE BORAX!!! take a borax bath and soak for 20 minutes. Then, get a spray bottle and fill with water and lots of borax. Shake it up good and spray yourself. I also used castor oil/borax paste and put all over myself. I woke up this morning and everything has changed! The places are GONE and my skin looks almost normal!! I spent SO much MONEY on that other stuff! ALSO, I finally listened and wrapped my mattress in plastic (buy a drop cloth at Lowe's). I was washing so much and spraying the bed, but didn't encase it in plastic. The clorax helped at first with the places, but never killed the eggs. Plus, my skin was getting raw and sore.

There used to be a company that made a natural solution that worked great on these things but I believe the FDA shut them down.

Sulfur soap is an alternative you can buy in the 99cent stores or drug stores. 35% is best. Until you find it, soak in the tub with borax for an hour or so and you will sleep well but you have to keep doing it.

I think you're talking about Durvet and their Nu Stock liniment/ointment/salve. They didn't shut them down, they just made them stop recommending it for people. It is still sold for pets and apparently works wonder for scabies. You can read lots of reviews at that place online that isn't a river in South America, if you know what I mean. I'm getting some for the dogs and so that I can try a DIY formula I think might replicate the results, using just sulfur and coconut oil with oregano oil to cut the odor. The Nu Stock is made with mineral oil (23%) and sulfur (75%) and 2% pine oil (by weight, I'm assuming) but I think the pine oil is just to help dull the smell of the sulfur. You use it once, then wait 3 days, then use it again. For really bad cases, you might have to do it 3-5 times which would be 1 application, 3 days rest then 1 application, 3 days rest etc, which would be about 20 days. More is NOT better. It kills the live ones on contact, you wait 3 days for some more eggs to hatch, then you kill those and so on until they'r gone but it cuts the itching, instantly. If you just use a tiny bit whenever you itch, whatever the cause (mosquito bite, rash or unknown) you can prevent it before any eggs are laid in one application.

That's what I'm hearing from those who use it. One farm guy cuts it out of the tube it comes in, mixes it with mineral oil, and uses it as a spray on his livestock for anything having to do with the skin. Cuts, scrapes, rashes, bald spots and hot spots, mites, mange and fleas on his dogs as well as strays. Also heard that it is instant relief and fast elimination for poison ivy. Can't wait to get it! I kinda wish I had an itch! I might have some poison ivy out back....I'll have to check.

I ordered sulfur cream and sulfur soap and it works when you are trying to kill scabies, it does not kill the eggs, but if you keep using it you will be cured. You can go to your local drug store ask for sulfur powder and make your own sulfur cream. This stuff works. I have tried almost everything else, and it was horrible, the horrible smells, the burning oh god it was bad. Sulfur is non toxic and it does not smell bad and it works. It is very gentle. Think sulfur and you will be thinking cure scabies no more sleepless nights. No more dreading the night, sulfur is the cure, nothing else has come close to sulfur.

I tried permethian from canada and mexico you get more from mexico but they use formaldehyde as a preservative its 5% perm and 1% forma so that is not good I used the stuff and got some relief but it did not work, I ran out of it, and it was less and less effective. I do not think sulfur will ever lose its effectiveness. Thank god for sulfur. I spent 60 dollars for about two and half pounds of sulfur cream along with 10 bars of sulfur soap. You can make your own sulfur cream and its much cheaper. If I need more sulfur cream I think I will make my own its so much cheaper.

I have found the best way to use it is sulfur cream applied to the affected areas rub it in, it is very gentle. At this point I usually feel sand like particles on my skin. Leave the cream on for an hour if you can. Get in the bath wash with sulfur soap if you have it regular soap if you do not. Get out of tub dry off put the sulfur cream on again rub it in leave it on. Do this upon rising and before going to bed. There are different methods of using sulfur soap/cream. Good luck!

I totally agree with sulfur, only be very careful you can over do it. I burnt my neck and chest pretty bad cause I was so anxious to have the bugs killed. They are fine now after intense moisterizing..I used sulfur paste and mixed with eurcerin lotion. Go easy, it should be one part sulfur to 9 parts lotion and don't get it near your eyes. It will irritate them. Should continue for three weeks. Good luck all!

I have recently purchased for curing scabies diatomaceous soil, permethrin 5%, enzymes from kleen green, and finally most recently I purchased sulphur soap and sulphur cream from some where in oklahoma. The sulphur soap and cream work!!! , nothing else has worked. When I rub the cream into the affected areas where the rash is, after I rub it in for a few seconds, well it begins to feel like sand appears I can feel it I guess that is the dead scabies. Any-who the sulphur soap and cream especially the cream, kill scabies.

I have been using the soap and cream for 5 days and am almost completely free from. Please look into and order the cream and you will see that it does work its really quite amazing I am so happy that after 3 years I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think that generally you can purchase sulphur powder locally and mix it with oil of some kind. Maybe you might consult a pharmacist about the sulphur powder and or products.
