Castor oil for people with olive or oily skin

I have Hidradenitis suppurativa and I've been using castor oil to reduce the pain, bumps and boils that I get in my armpits, buttocks and folds of my skin in my upper thigh/pelvis areas. At first it was working really well and reducing the bumps and lessening the pain. For the most part it still is. I continue to get redness like rash, hot to the touch in my upper thigh area. I've also read that people with olive skin (oily), of which I have, shouldn't use castor oil as it traps and clogs the pores. Is this true? If it is, any other recommendations for treating HS that have worked really well?
