Well, about 3 wks ago I had an OB and OMG did it hurt. I went to a Chinese herb doctor on the second day of my OB. She put me on pills..... I was taking 30 pills a day and a 6 weeks supply cost me $200. She told me I would have to continue taking the pills for at least 6 months, possibly all the way up to year before I would see results, meaning--no more OB's. I bought into the idea for about 3 weeks, then decided I was tired of swallowing massive quanity of pills and quit bc I was still getting the tingly feeling/irritation.
So, I further researched the web and decided to give oil of oregano a try. It was $30 for a small dropper bottle, I figured what do I have to lose. I've tried just about everything on the web!! I began doing 4 drops under my tongue (twice a day) and then at night (4 drops) rubbing the oil onto the base of my spine. (Yes, at night bc the scent is very powerful and not pleasant).
I had one episode about 2 days into it, where I got the tingly feeling, and decided to drop OOO on a q-tip and put it on the irritated area. OMG, did it burn. I should have diluted, but didn't. Lesson learned!! Anyways, with one treatment, the tingly feeling went away and I have not had one since.
I was having such good results, so I decided to take it a step further and ordered DSMO in the cream form (the rose scented one off EBAY). I began rubbing a mixture of OOO and DSMO onto the base of my spine every night.
Not saying this is for everyone, but it has been amazing for me. Not once since I started using this combo have I had any predome symptoms. I couldn't be happier. I do have to say, if you decide to try the DSMO on the base of your spine, use a light (and I stress, light) coat. I've experimented and went heavier one night and got so sick. I wanted to throw up so bad. It passed, but it was an awful feeling. So, keep it light. I've read that some ppl have actually been cured using this method for a month or two. Not saying I am or will be, but if the symptoms stay away--that's all I'm asking for.
L-lysine:from what I have read it has a side effect: being an amino acid, taking it leads either to putting on extra weight or in case you work out a lot putting on muscles. In fact it is used in sports as an additive. I was wondering if people for whom L-lisine works could share there experience: do you feel like you put more weight on?
Products to avoid: it is often that I see that vitamin C and in general citruses and sour fruits are to be avoided as they tend to cause a recurrent outburst of Herpes. Some other sources just mention that vitamin C is important for immune system so it is advisable. Did anyone have any problems taking vitamin C or eating citruses?
Almost the same contradictive situation I see with dairy products: they are full of proteins and especially of L-lisine. However, I often see it amongst the products to avoid. I personally find it difficult to lead a healthy lifestyle if I avoid dairy products and vitamin C.
(I mean it is possible of course, I have some friends who are vegan and they are perfectly fine and happy people, but they do eat whole wheat products, beans, soy etc, which I have to avoid.)
Thank you for your replies.

I was reading online that Olive Leaf Extract was good for fighting herpes so I started taking it. After I started taking it I actually starting having more issues with my herpes. I read online that people usually get more but less severe outbreaks when they take Olive Leaf Extract b/c the herpes is fighting the medicine. It was annoying but I knew it must be effective. It was mainly a bump here or there before my period started, and not every month. It wasn't severe, just annoying b/c I didn't have any issues prior to taking Olive Leaf.
I started to combine Oil of Oregano with the Olive Leaf Extract and the combo worked really well together. I take the pill form in both. I stopped taking both about two months ago and I haven't had any issues with my herpes and I feel good. I'm going to take an ionic foot detox to see how that works also.

When I was taking Vitamin supplements and L-lysin the ob's definitely came les frequently, but unfortuntaley they didn´t vanish and I also didn´t want to take so many tbls all the time because it was expensive and anoying.
After giving colloidal silver a go I kept researching and came across a cream containing silver.
I work at a hospital and silver coated dressings are regularly used on infected wounds and they work a treat. Because the colloidal silver particles in the one that I was taking weren't small enough, it didn't have any effect on me, but I know silver definitely is virucidal.
When I had an ob in the morning I immeditaley put on the cream and the same night the sore had completely vanished!!!! It was amazing.
I didn't want anything complicated that I had to put on several times a day over a few days, because I simply don't have time for that. So, this was a fantastic fix.
This didn't rid me of my gh problem though and the ob's kept coming, so I decided to try DMSO and 3% hydrogen peroxide applied to my lower spine right down to the of the spine between the butt cheeks. I wrapped it with cling wrap and left it for an hour.
This was several weeks ago and I have to say I have not used the silver cream since, because I have not had a single ob since then.
I will give some more time and will then get a blood test to see if the virus is still tracable in my blood. If you want to try the cream, it is silvadene or silver sulfadiazine creme 1% (used for topical burns).

I'm on day 3 since the outbreak and my blisters are almost gone. I have discharge and discomfort but that's about it. I simply cannot believe my eyes, as I heard it takes at least 14 days to get rid of the outbreak.

So, I started doing more and more research until I finally fell upon this website. I am aware of other websites similiar to this one, such as NaturalCures.com but you had to pay for its services. I was hoping I could find something inexpensive and just as powerful and I did! I started using Apple Cider Vineger (____) and Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. What I did was heat up 2 cups of purified water on the stove-top and removed it before it could boil. Then I added 2 Tbsp of ACV. I then took some cotton balls and dabbed this mixture on affected areas. I let it air dry and then applied Coco Oil to the same areas. I allowed the Coco Oil to be absorbed into my skin before coming in contact with clothing. After just 3 days of this my sores had practically disappeared! I hope this helps you as well! Please keep in good faith, you are not alone! Together, we can heal! ;)

I believe I have some form of the herpes virus in my bladder. It began 2 years ago with what felt like a UTI that never showed bacteria. I went to a naturopathic doctor who treated me for 'a virus in your bladder'.. Never telling me what kind because he didn't know. A few months down the road I began taking high doses of l-lysine and Vit. C for cold sores and noticed, miraculously, my bladder symptoms became less. I have had insomnia and wake up every night at 4am unable to go back to sleep since this started but when I take lysine I am able to get an okay night sleep. I also try to stick to a 'herpes diet' and have noticed improvement from the exclusion of nuts.
I'm sorry this is so long. What I am wondering is, would the same remedy work for having this virus in my bladder (possibly kidneys I don't know)? I believe with all my heart that many people diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, as I was numerous times, have some un-detected virus in the bladder or urinary tract. I have read the Epstein Barr virus loves the lining of the bladder. Go figure.

I eat a diet high in lysine but was under a lot of stress recently and had a breakout that lasted for, and continued to get worse, for two months. After feeling like there'd be no end in sight, I decided to spread some of my Lugol's (5%) iodine on my lower back (where the virus lives) and also around my genitals, after cleaning the area first with hydrogen peroxide.
The situation was much improved the next morning, so I repeated the procedure.
May not be a cure all but Acyclovir (two rounds) hadn't helped at all and this did. I'd say if you have Lugol's, try it as part of your arsenol, but I wasn't cured overnight, just much relieved and starting to see signs of remission.
Also, I previously got some relief from the "acetone applied to lesions with a q-tip" idea (not cured or completely cleared up though) and am considering/ researching the BHT path for a more permanent cure. I haven't had a lot of luck with lysine supplementation in the past, but I am a meat and dairy eater who used to take additional lysine regulalry and didn't get long lasting breakouts like this recent one, so I will be ordering more of that too.
Also, I'd stopped my two-per-day multi-vitamin for a few months when this happened, and had planned to stop taking it altogether, opting for better, whole food based nutrition with additional vitamin C supplementation instead, but now I'm rethinking that. It's a very good quality multi that is expensive ($18 per month) and contains high quality, well researched vitamins and minerals. Wish I could mention the name but I never had breakouts that lasted more than a few days while taking it.
As for the glycerine, I'm not sure if that does anything. I've used it without any noticeable difference.

Herpes Outbreak Prevention Tips
I will have fatique for sure... Also my "nerves will bother me" a lot! I will feel hot and cold, (sometimes but not always) and many times my stomach will rumble and act peculiar 24-48 hours prior to an outbreak. I have very carefully learned this over the years.
I have to avoid completely eating any type of acidy foods like tomatoes, tomatoe sauces, orange juice, jalapenos or spicy types of foods. Acidophilus tablets double or even tripling the normal dose along with eating yogurt is very helpful. If you have valtrex or similar product, acylovir and take as soon as you notice symptoms this will allow the virus to calm down and then go dormant as apposed to raising to the surface of the skin. Pay attention to feeling of your neck on each side, near the glands as this usually is very tender and hurts right before an outbreak occurs on the skin. If you feel it is coming to the surface but has not formed yet a sore, usually doubling the medication at that point will help that the sore is greatly reduced from what it could of been without taking it.
Also the nerve endings are effected by the virus so taking B vitamins and mineral supplements that help the nerves will be greatly effective in calming down the system and helping in suppressing the virus. Stay away from stressful situations as much as possible if you can and use deep breathing really helps....
