Hydrogen Peroxide

Please don't ingest store-bought 3% H202; do read about 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide at Dr David G Williams website (google, "The Many Benefits of Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide," find the Williams entry, which offers instructions on its use.

I had TB in service (WW2), didn't know it, self-cured it (we're giants at 19) but was a shallow breather. In 1984 I was showed lung scars on my chest X-ray and finally knew why I had difficulty breathing.

Recently my breathing worsened, limited me to four hours sleep a night. Recalling that one sister died of IFP, one of emphysema, I looked at myself at 87.

Hoping for a longer life, I'd followed an FG H202 regimen for four years -- high dosages for a month, then 3 drops a day in spring water and no colds in that time. Now deep breathing was impossible, so I upped my FG H202 intake to 9 drops (3 X3) a day.

There was improvement. Hardly dramatic, yet I was grateful for it. Now I'm seeking a Homeopath who offers the IV H202 treatment. Dr Williams says it really works on emphysema-- we'll see about that.

The government calls me a death-panel candidate, but I call them names, too. And yes, my COPD worries don't compare to those of others in this forum, but I had to offer this FG H202 advice anyway. I ask you to help yourselves. Read on Dr Williams' website -- I found it as I found Earth Clinic. By happy chance.

After numerous searches & great difficulty I found this product... Called Mucolyxir from an organic pharmacy in NC.

Separately, a high daily dose of D3 (do get tested! ), a garlic/habanero pepper tincture, systemic enzymes and daily exercise have kept me pneumonia free for the first year in over 10 yrs. This is a blessing and I hope you find yours! Not all products work for all people.

For COPD, I put 1/4 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide in 1/2 gallon of distilled water in my vaporizor and inhale through the mouth 10 times twice a day and a few times through the nose also. I was in pretty bad shape a few months ago but now I'm able to do so much more without losing my ability to breath.

For months I also took 1/4 t. of celery seed (a natural diaretic), tea made with 1/4 t. Lobelia, 1 t. of Mullein and 1 t. Hyssop twice a day.

I also started taking MSM and cayenne pepper, which I still do. I don't need the tea anymore. I have to limit my intake of dairy and mold and pollen is still a challenge, but being 90% better is great.

Hydrogen Peroxide inhalation for COPD

Hello, My name is Maggie and I live in Massachusetts. I am writing because I finally decided to take a chance on inhaling hydrogen peroxide for my COPD. I have been sick every Winter since I was 26 (16 years). I have tried diet change, steroids, antibiotics, supplements (with some success) and every other alternative offered to me. I have used your website for other ailments, but thought this was a little crazy. However, I have been using this method for 3 weeks and have NEVER felt this good in the Winter. I have also stopped using my rescue inhaler (down from 6-7 times a day) and am not taking any medications. I will be personally sending an email to Bill Munro, who is now my hero. Just when I finally began to accept that I was going to be another statistic (surviving as many Winters as I could handle until my disease did me in, as it did my father), a miracle falls into my lap! I will do this treatment for the rest of my life and I will recommend it to EVERYONE who ever complains to me of bronchitis, asthma, or any other form of COPD. Thank you Earth Clinic and thank you Bill Munroe for giving me a chance to live my life, instead of biding my time!!!

Hello, I started taking Cell Food about a year ago. I thought.. What can I lose. I am a lung transplant awaiting patient. Been 4 years since my diagnosis and I am still kicking. We are trying to prolong the transplant to give me more lifetime. Since taking this supplement... When you first start taking it.. Your energy level skyrockets like no other. As I stated... I am awaiting transplant so my health should be such that I would be almost bedridden. I can do more than I ever dreamed of. Not able to walk like I used to... But I can do tasks all day with breaks in between. So over all I would say... It is a product I have been known to stop in public when I see a person on oxygen and give a referral to try it. That speaks how it works for me. My hair is envied by others. It was brittle and dry before... And now I have had the most beautiful hair that I have ever had in my whole life. I plan on staying on this supplement until the doctors tell me to not take it.

After the transplant I dont know if they will allow me to take it. But it dont hurt to try to take it now. When I was given my diagnosis, I was told I have the lungs of a 90 year old person. I am on oxygen ( level 2 liters ) at home and when it is possible I walk small distances with no oxygen. I even was shoveling the snow last year ( 20 inches too ). Good luck to you.

Serrapeptase, Breathing

For COPD, I wanted to mention a couple of other possibly useful aids: one is serrapeptase, which is a supplement that dissolves fibrotic lesions in the body. Some folks with copd'ers are breathing more easily since using that. Be careful if you tend to bleed easily, though, or are taking a blood thinner.

The other idea is to find a breathing technique that works for you. Life Lift and Bodyflex are two funny-looking ones that can help a lot. Fine for most people, unless you have high blood pressure or glaucoma, (or are pregnant, which I'm thinking doesn't apply to you). I've seen a demo of the bodyflex breath on youtube before. The life lift version is slower and gentler (the bodyflex founder learned it from the life lift lady, actually. )

Basically, you gently blow all the air out of your lungs through your mouth, as if blowing through a tube... A martial arts article explained that there are multiple benefits to doing it this way, btw... Then a big inhale through the nose (smile to open up your nostrils to their widest), hold a second or three, then blast the air out, and pop your lips as you say "Paaaaaaaah. " It isn't vocalized, it's just air. Then you hold your breath and suck in your gut as if rolling up your abs. In fact, there is a yoga move like this. Hold your breath. With practice, you will feel the suction as you do it, and when you release the air and hear a sucky sound. Hold as long as you feel comfortable holding your breath, but you don't need to go longer than a count of eight or so, and repeat. Fifteen minutes a day should dramatically help oxygenation and lung flexibility. If you have contraindications for that sort of breathing, then incorporating any gentler, intentional breathing exercises into your day should be a must on your daily to-do list.

I did email them and told them that I needed some assistance in locating this product. They emailed me back and said that they could not find it either. I really would like to try some. Could you advise what to do next? I hope your father is doing wonderful. He does not know how lucky he is to have a caring, loving person there to help him out. You go girl!!! Thanks Linda

Linda, I'm not sure if mold is one of the symptoms of copd, but I have tried several different remedies for copd on this site with varying results over the last 2 years. Much of it was very helpful to me including the use of 3% hydrogen peroxide spray, according to Bill Munro, along with a 1:1 ratio of 3% H2O2 and distilled water in my nebulizer.

Having a lot more summer humidity this year my breathing got worse and often needed to use my rescue inhaler. Last month I did some research and found out about yamoa powder which I am using with excellent results within a short period of time and breathing much better now. I wish you the best and hope you find a remedy that works as well. Not being able to get a decent breath is very scary.

Correction:

Back on 6/23/09 I made a careless mistake by stating:

"5) acetyl L-carnitine 1000 mg 3x/day has been proven to loosen mucous secretions and helps to promote their elimination".

Acetyl L-carnitine is useful for treating peripheral neuropathy and not COPD. I meant to say "N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) 1000 mg 3x/day has been proven to loosen mucous secretions and helps to promote their elimination (an amino acid available in health food stores)".

I think I became careless because I take them both and was needing to reorder ALC, the former nutrient, so it was 'on my mind'. There is a class of macrolide antibiotics (which includes erythromycin and azithromycin) that have immuno-modulating effects in very small dosages of only 250 mg every other day, requiring a long term renewable prescription from an MD.

There are considerable medical studies that indicate macrolides reduce inflammatory cytokines, and biofilm formation which make pathogenic bacteria more resistant to eradication by antibiotics and other means. Nebulized DMSO 30% to 50% solution has anti-biofilm and anti-bacterial activity, even against most multiple-drug-resistant-bacteria like pseudomonas a. And acinetobacter b. Gaylord Chemical in Slidell, LA published a report indicating that DMSO was non-toxic by either oral, inhalation, or dermal administration, and DMSO is completely biodegradable. The results of extended inhalation toxicity studies on rats exposed to saturated vapors of DMSO showed no statistical difference from rats in a control group, who did not breathe DMSO. They do not sell DMSO to the public. Odorless garlic preparations containing allicin have anti-quorum sensing activity that also diminish biofilm formation. There are various mucolytic enzyme formulas that may also be helpful. Some people claim that they have had great benefit from taking colloidal silver both orally and by inhalation. So far, there no medical studies that support this. Do your own research.

So far, the medical profession only supports the use of DMSO for treatment interstitial cystitis (a very painful bladder disorder that doesn't respond to anything else). Do your own research.

Food grade hydrogen peroxide has been claimed by many to have helped to reduce symptoms of COPD and other lung problems like bronchitis. Do your own research.

High doses of vitamin C (1000 to 2000 mg/3x day have increased the resistance to infections and allergens. (Linus Pauling took 20, 000 mg/d for decades and lived to 92).

Straight niacin, which causes transient but temporary flushing, is a potent natural capillary vasodilator that can be very beneficial for it's detoxifying properties. Niacin helps remove "capillary sludge" and increases blood flow to the entire body. Don't be afraid of the flushing when you start.

Taking a cool shower will provide quick relief if needed. It only lasts 15-20 minutes, and as you continue taking niacin your body develops a tolerance to the flushing in part due to your capillaries remaining relatively more dilated throughout the day.

Start with small doses and work up to the higher doses gradually. Straight niacin is far more beneficial than non-flush niacin for many disorders like COPD.

I have emphysema. I get tested every 6 months to check the oxygen in my lungs.. Before I inhaled 3% peroxide my test prove my COPD was getting worse... But this time, after inhaling peroxide for three weeks my lungs have greatly improved. My pulmonologist was impressed at the technician's report that he tested me on difficult state of the art machines that measure the capacity of air in each test and he indeed reported much better than the previous three years.

I didn't tell her what I was doing. I was afraid she would try and stop me... Joan

Hi everybody. I'd like support what Robert said about Natural Microdose DNA. I've got an earlier post about my father using this product for his emphysema. He's improving all the time. His peak flow meter has risen even further from my previous post, written three weeks ago. It's now rarely below 200 and several times has been 220. He made more rapid progress when he started putting the drops underneath his tongue instead of on top of his tongue as he had been doing. I've just ordered another bottle from iherb.com. It costs me $NZ60 for one bottle plus courier to New Zealand, which only takes six days. Of course, this would be less in US dollars. A bottle lasts about two months at the normal dose, so it's pretty cheap, especially for something that actually works!! Obviously, other places sell it, apart from iherb.com, but if you go to their site and put "Natural Microdose DNA" or "Salmon DNA" in the search box, the product will come up and you will be able to read some very positive customer reviews about it. I hope it can help some of you with respiratory conditions, like it is helping Dad.

All the best,
Vicki

For those with C.O.P.D. & other respiratory ailments, please check research on 'natural microdose DNA' which is not a product name but a natural substance with research & use for humans & also in the veterinary fields. The price for the product is very reasonable for its effectiveness & is available to all as it is not a drug.

Answer To Bharat From Faridabad. Hi from New Zealand. My father, who is 84 and has had emphysema for over 20 years, has been using some drops that I got for him from a large online supplement supplier in America. I can't say the name of the product on this site, but if you Google "Natural Microdose DNA" you will find info about the product. Dad uses ONE drop FOUR times a day. It isn't very expensive to buy. I think it works by thinning the mucus. Dad has been using it for about six weeks, and it's the first of the MANY "natural" remedies that we've tried that's helped him. Unfortunately he's still using all his puffers at this stage, but the drops have made a huge difference in his comfort level. He is able to go for walks outside and do light chores around the house, which he hasn't been able to do for ages. A big difference is in how long it takes him to recover from breathless episodes. Now, he gets his breath back almost immediately, instead of spending five minutes gasping for air. He's really happy about that!! He has had a peak flow meter for several years now and it has always been around 160 to 170 maximum, but now it averages about 190 and several times has been over 200, which has never happened before. So, while this hasn't been the miracle cure that I have been looking for, it has made a BIG difference to Dad's quality of life, and,at the moment, he is progressing instead of getting worse. Hopefully after he has been using the drops for several months he'll have made further progress. The only negative comment I have to make about the product is that it"s really difficult to get the drops out of the bottle - I have to put it in another bottle for Dad to use. Later on I'm also going to get him some black elderberry (there's an interesting post on here about that), but for now we're seeing how much he improves by using the drops alone. Kind Regards, Vicki.

Sorry, I cannot answer satisfactorily to your quesstion, because I am not at all familiar with the test you are talking about. But I did some quick searches and I have a few thoughts I would like to share with you.

First, you did not explained how the oxygen was taken externally. Was is peroxyde? And how? To get back to my previous post about dosages. Consider that 18 drops of FG h2o2 in a glass of water is not the same for a man of 40Kg as for a man of 80Kg or 120Kg. I suspect that your father is very weak and has digestion problems. So, maybe the 18 drops is even more demanding because of his weakness. H2O2 will create detox symptoms. So it is good to have something to improve the elimination of the liberated toxins. Those "toxins" are not from the h2o2 but from the body trying to get rid of them by being helped with the h2o2.

So, it might be better that food are any supplements be taken in smaller portions but more often. Something that might help greatly is the taking of pro-biotics on a daily basis. The more I read about pro-biotic bacteria for the colon the more I thing it is a vital element in helping in the recovery to any illness.

If you read EC pages on COPD and do a search on the web you will find that many have been helped by DMSO, and MSM. First, DMSO is very closed chemically to MSM. MSM can be obtained naturally from food. But can be easily destroyed by processing foods. MSM is better utilized by the body if taken with glucosamine sulfate and the chondroitin sulfate. MSM is a compound with sulfur as so are the two other sulfates. It has been shown that magnesium and magnesium sulfate can help asthma. Here we go again with a sulfate.

There is an easy and cheap way to get magnesium and sulfur in the form of sulfate. It is with Epsom salt (Magnesium sulfate). It is cheap and easy to buy in North America. I don't know about your part of the country. Two ways I know how to benefit from Epsom Salt (ES). Internally and from baths. Internally, a pinched of ES with meals or beverages. Coincidentally, a bath of ES can be enhanced and alkalizing with some h2o2. Here is a good link about such baths http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1614147#i

Magnesium will also help the liver and kidneys in digesting proteins.

So, IMO you should have a multi-facet approach. Improvement of digestion, improvement of nutrition. Smaller portion but more frequent. Supplementation of MSM and or magnesium sulfate. Alkalizing baths. So much can be said about alkalizing.

I could have put a lot more in the form of supporting links and text extracts that would better help what I said above. Health can be restored but it will take time. A simple advice-Stop doing what makes us sick and start what makes us healthy.

Good luck, Alain

Thank you Alain.I really appreciate your effort .

Can you please tell me if is it possible that food grade Hydrogen Peroxide when taken orally reduces the spo2 level in blood.I am asking this because for the past 3 -4 days we are noticing a quick decrease in spo2 levels of my father even when oxygen is been taken externally.

Can it be assumed as a possible side effect of hydrogen peroxide since his fev1 count is only 17%?

Posted by Alain (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) on 04/30/2010

Answer to Bharat from Faridabad

With H2O2 we have to go slowly. If 18 drops is too much because of detox effect, just reduce it to a comfortable level. Than increase only after a while. You don't have to go as fast as a chart. Those charts are just guidelines.

The max recommended concentration for internal use is 0.5%. But even 1/10 of it can help. There are also other ways, like Baths with H2O2 and Epsom salt, or Bill Munro's inhalation method. People react differently to different concentration. When too much just reduce.

I posted something here with a lot of info.

Good Luck, Alain

My father is suffering from COPD (chronic bronchitis and chronic emphysema), he is 57 years old and weighs around 40 kg.He was told about it 6 years back in 2004 untill when he was a chain smoker and left it then only. His fev1 count is only 17%.

He used 35% food grade HP orally according to the given schedule but as soon as he reached 18 drops he felt some extreme symptoms like nausea, headache along with extreme weakness. His heart beat went high up-to 130 bpm and thus he just slacked off on it. He can barely walk and even find it difficult to eat food. I just wanted to ask what is the solution to such extreme symptoms because we don't want to quit so easily as there are not much options left after HP.

Another query i had in my mind was that can anyone tell me that among either oral and inhalation method which one shows better and quick results?

I would consider looking at yerba santa which is an herb that can help with lungs- it helps open up the bronchials, an effective remedy for allergies and asthma and can get rid of phlegm. I met a man over the weekend that said yerba santa actually saved his life. He himself is an herbalist and is quite knowledgeable in that area. I know a very high quality company that has herbal tinctures. It is called herbpharm which if you google it you can probably find it. I always look for the highest quality sources of whatever I am looking for so if someone recommends a company they are familiar with and know of the source and quality, I will take the advice.

I just googled it and apparently vitaminshoppe carries it which is a national chain so perhaps there's one by you. I find they are very reasonably priced and less than health food stores. Also, I have bought their brand of various items as the woman in our store is extremely knowledgeable and has told me that their brands are made by very high sources- some by well-known very expensive companies.

Anyway, I just thought I'd pass this info on. Be hopeful and work towards living...
The best to you, Lisa

Sea Salt

Sea Salt for Pneumonia

I have (usually) mild asthma. I visited a dusty wildflower area and contracted fungal pneumonia. The doctor did not apply effective antibiotics, because the infection was fungal, and he initially misdiagnosed it. The infection continued for weeks, and hardened into chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Over the next year I tried many remedies. Then I found an interesting fact. The ocean has millions of antibacterial virions per liter. This is why there are so few bacteria there: predation. I live in an oceanside city, and have no problem getting clean, fresh seawater. I spat some infected sputum into a bottle of seawater and diluted it to invisibility. The idea was that any virus would rapidly multiply by killing and eating the bacteria of my infection. Then over a week, I sprayed the water and inhaled it. My coughing got worse, but then air began to penetrate past the blockages and I began to cough them up; some looked like french fries. I'm now healthy.

I think a similar effort might work with artificial seawater made from organic sea salt. The idea is that it must be organic so that the antibacterial virions would need to be preserved in the salt.

We need to keep this alive. I just found this site. I used 35%food grade HP for the schedule and it gave me more energy and then stupid me slacked off. I need to go back to it. Anyway I have COPD and lately I can barely walk to the bathroom because I can't breathe from long time smoking, so I have been reading this. I tried Bill's method of putting 3%HP in a pump bottle undiluted. Then I put 3mg in my nebulizer and it's kinda strong so guess you can cut it with water. Now I'm using 35% food grade 1 drop per 2oz distilled water and then putting 3mg in nebulizer. Cheaper then using an oxygen tank I think and did give me instant relief so guess I'm going to do this about every two hrs and see how it goes then I probably will start the schedule back over which is 3 drops three x's a day then increasing one drop every day until you get to 25 drops then you taper back down to only using 5 drops per week

Someone asked about doses and how to administer Hydrogen Peroxide for COPD. I can only tell about my experience and cannot make any recommendations to anyone else. I use it primarily in am Sleep Apnea mask [PAP]. I use a solution strength of about 20%. That is 1/4 cup H2O2 to 1 cup of Distilled water. I breath it all night and if my lungs feel a little irritated I add another half cup water to make it about 15%.

I also use my nebulizer one or two times a day and there I use a 50% strength for about 3 min.

I believe I am killing all the bacteria, mold and fungus in my lungs as I don't have any more coughing or mucus since the first day I tried H2O2.

My Pulmonologist, Cardiologist, and my Gen Practitioner are all amazed at my improvement. None of them have ever heard of inhaling H2O2 before.
