Raw Rice

Age: 22
I feel like I have been constipated my whole life. But when I started eating raw rice for breakfast as part of a parasite purge program, I immediatly began having daily bowel movements. What I do is this: Drink 1 cup of warm water with lemon juice first thing in the morning. After about 20 minutes I eat 1/4 cup of raw rice. I soak the rice in water overnight to make it softer on my teeth. The rice should be chewed until it is liquid and then swallowed. I don't eat anything else until lunch (as part of the program, you are supposed to wait 3 hours so that the rice is the only thing going through you). About an hour after I eat the rice, I have the smoothest, most enjoyable bowel movements.
I think this works because raw rice can not be digested, so it passes right through you, scraping out the crevices of your intestines and pushing waste along.
This will probably work even in the absense of the lemon water, but I have never tried it. The lemon water first and then the raw rice is working great for me so I've never tried it without the lemon water.
**If you eat the rice and then eat other food without giving the rice sufficient time to digest, you will end up bloated with a terrbile stomach ache!

Warning
I should warn regarding this. Rice is my staple food. And I come from ethnic background where rice is cultivated vastly and it is the staple diet from morning to evening.
You should not eat raw rice. It will cause Anemia. This what my mother and grand parents will say when we try to eat raw rice in the childhood. We will boil rice until it is cooked and mix it with sambar, rasam, saarus, curd or curries and eat it. The boiled rice is called Anna, Annam, Soru, Saadham in different South Indian Languages.
I will tell another fact: In our farms we don't give raw rice particularly parboiled rice to goat or sheep. If you feed your goat with at least 1 pound of parboiled raw rice and give water to drink. The goat will die the next day, The died goat will have bloated stomach.
Try anything, but with some reference.

Seltzer Water

The first time my sister was pregnant she tried every product she could find for constipation. During her second pregnancy I suggested she drink seltzer water. I had read about it in a magazine. I also had cravings for seltzer water during my last 2 pregnancies and never had any problems with constipation. She told me she didn't like the taste and couldn't drink it. A few weeks later she let slip she was mixing it with juice and was actually regular for once.
Senna Leaf Tea

Senna leaves tea for immediate relief from constipation. It is so strong that if you overdose on it, it could turn constipation into diarhhea. Here, in the Philippines senna tea is available from pharmacies and supermarkets (brands: kankunis, biguerlai).
Tea

I have tried many different remedies from an early age.....over the counter and natural.....for my lifelong battle with constipation and nothing last more than a few months. I started drinking organic green iced tea in place of water all day long, knowing that I will get the water that my body needs while enjoying the taste of the iced tea.(I hate plain water). After about 2-3 weeks I noticed that I was having a BM every morning and sometimes in the afternoon! Every day....no straining.
I have had this problem since I was a little girl. I am now 71 years old and wish I had found this organic green iced tea solution a long time ago.
Not sure this would work for everyone, but it sure works for me.
Tea

You can get an herbal laxative tea from your health food store. One is called Smooth Move. Never let yourself go over 2 days without eliminating. This tea sometimes has a residual effect. Take it the last thing at night if you have not had a movement. Drink something hot the next morning. This is not harsh but you will be going quite a bit the first time- try to stay close to home, this works!! I have made many friends from sharing this information! (This stuff sells itself!!)
otherwise; a friend gave me this recipe:
Senna leaves ground into a powder to make 1/2 c. , 1 c. Dried prunes, 1c. Figs or dates, 1c raisins and applesauce. 1/2 water in a pan and stew prunes, figs, raisins. Put in a processor or blender, blend. Add a little applesauce at a time until you get the correct consistency (kind of thick like applebutter); add senna leaves, blend a little more until all ingredients are throughly mixed. Put in a container in refrigerator or freezer. This will not freeze although it will extent its shelf life. I put some in a baby food size glass jar for the refrigerator and flatten it in a baggy for the freezer. Take on the average of 1 heaping tablespoon per day, cut back if need be... Drink plenty of water. Do not abuse this recipe, take only when needed. All of this is food and so it should not make you laxative dependent. I am also a hemorrhoid expert in case anyone is interested!!
Tea
I have suffered from constipation for years, and it was worsened by Menopause. These things have really helped. 1. Using a small step stool in front of the stool to elevated the legs. This puts the colon in a more natural positon. 2. Yarrrow tea.
Tea

Have you ever stopped to think about chinese people how with every meal no matter what meal they have hot tea?? well the reason behind it is, when you eat food's that have fat or oils in them you usually drink COLD bevarages after right?? Well that causes the fats to sit and harden, causing many problems constipation, clogged arteries, many! So when you eat something, try to drink something hot along with it and see what happens.....bet you will poop right on time and won't be constipated.

Ted's Remedies

Since switching to a low-carb vegetarian diet for health reasons, I've had issues with mild constipation. I found the suggestions on the Earth Clinic website very helpful and I started trying them. My constipation has now gone, I am able to have an easy bowel movement every morning which is soft and moist.
I previously found that I couldn't eat egg yolks because they would block me up, but this is no longer the case.
The remedies the worked for me are as follows, starting with the most effective and proceeding in order down to the least effective: - 1/4 tsp of bicarbonate soda dissolved in 1/4 cup of water 1 hour after each meal. This is one of the remedies recommended by Parhatsathid Nabadalung (aka Ted from Bangkok, Thailand) in his book pH Balanced for Life! The Easiest Way to Alkalize. -
1 tbsp of olive oil dissolved in 1/4 cup of water every morning, after my bowel movement and before my first meal. - Before each bowel movement, drink 1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt dissolved in 1 cup of warm water. - Eat some cucumber with every meal. I tried lots of other things including abdominal massage and eating coconut oil, but the above four worked the best for me. If anyone is interested in my diet, a typical meal for is 3 cups of vegetables with 2 boiled eggs, plenty of healthy fat (avocados, olive oil, coconut oil), and spices (garlic, ginger, turmeric etc). I drink plenty of plain water - I don't take other liquids.
Thank you to the people who run this site. You've helped me find a natural cure to my problem, which was causing me a lot of stress. I'm going to make a donation by way of thanks.

Toilet Stool

I've had a terrible time with constipation. A friend suggested to use a 7” toilet stool. I was amazed at how fast it worked for elimination. Proper posture is the key.
It also helps to take a single 200mg magnesium citrate gummy last thing at night and use the toilet stool in the morning. I also make sure I walk at least 30 minutes a day. I drink plenty of liquids like water, tea, and coffee.
Metamucil powder 1x a day in 12 oz. of water, stirred well, also helps me. If I decide not to take the magnesium gummy, I fix the Metamucil in the morning to drink.
Good Luck.
Triphala Churna

Maybe you should try upon rising drinking a glass of water with probiotics and one half lemon or line. Next prepare the morning flex drink:
TRIPHALA-prevents aging, imparts immunity and improves mental faculties. It helps to detoxify the liver, restore digestion and purify blood. It is also a laxative that rejuvenates the membrane lining the digestive tract and contributes to effective cleansing of the colon.
PSYLLIUM HUSK: Is a Fiber Psyllium appears to increase stool mass more effectively than do other common laxative fibre sources
Triphala Churna
I ran across this Ayurveda herb called triphala churna that claims to help eliminate constipation problems. I was wondering if anyone had any information that they could share about it.

I've had terrible constipation since I was young... I would have a bowel movement maybe every 2 weeks. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few years ago, which made the problem much worse. Typical remedies like laxatives, prunes, and fiber have absolutely no effect on me. Triphala has been a miracle for me. It's not a laxative, but it encourages regular bowel movements because it acts like a tonic for your colon and digestive system. It's extremely gentle but very powerful. I have a bowel movement almost every day, without any pain or discomfort. It completely regulates my digestive system and makes me feel great. As an added bonus, it has a ton of antioxidants, which is great for your body! I use a very good-quality brand, because some lower quality brands have little to no effect on me. Look for brands that have guaranteed potency.

Vitamin Supplements

As many of us with hypothyroid know, constipation is one of the symptoms of the ailment. I am one of those that has suffered for years with hard, rocky stool. Then I read about how if you are deficient in Thiamine or vitamin B-1 it can cause a "miscommunication" between the thyroid and bowels. I began taking 250 mg of B-1 everyday a couple of weeks ago and no more cement factory poops. It just may be coincidence. But, so far sooooo very good. I am actually not dreading to go do number 2. It's worth a try. I just hope my situation remains, eh hem, smooth sailing.

Did a little experiment last week by not taking the vitamin B-1. Yup, the cement factory was back. Took 250 mg of B-1 and was softer by that afternoon! I also take Vitamin D, have for over ten years. Didn't help. The B-1 is what works for me.
Vitamin Supplements
Daily vitamin c and magnesium will put an end to constipation. You may have to experiment a bit to find the dosage that works for you.

I have had chronic hard stool for about ten years now. I have tried many things in the past that, some worked some didn't. The only thing is the ones that worked had their draw backs. They were either harsh, habit forming or were hard on the system. Milk of Magisia is hard on the kidneys. I had come to the point that I was using a glycerin suppository to soften the stool. I would have to leave it in there for at least an hour. I was recently told I was glucose intolerant, so I did a little research on diabetes here. I combined chromium picolinate, ALA and lecithin. I did this regimen for about a week and a half and notice I wasn't passing rocks anymore. My stool was passible. It's been three weeks and all is still well. I'm not sure how this works or for how long, but it's so nice to go to the toilet and just do what nature is supposed to do without pain, discomfort or glycerin suppositories. I took each capsule once a day in the morning. I think the mgs are a standard amount.
