I'm writing about the apple cider and garlic healing. I am a person that believes a lot in natural healing this year 2009 I'm getting into it more. I learned that natural healing can help you without a lot of side affects because it's all natural. No drugs. I'm now 56 years old I've used natural remedies all down through the years

Now here is one of my natural garlic and bread remedies that works for me to get your High cholesterol and blood pressure
down.

4-cloves of garlic
2-slices of bread
1-full glass of water

cut up the 4 cloves put between the bread to make a sandwich. Eat the sandwich and drink the water as you eat just like any other sandwich. Eat the whole sandwich, and drink the whole glass of water. If you feel like you need more water you may drink more water because the garlic is a little tingy.

This remedy always work for me for high blood pressure and High Cholestrol. Try It, it also gives me energy.

ACV is a miracle remedy!! Eight weeks ago i was rushed to the hospital for chest pains and my blood pressure was up due to the anxiety created from the chest pains. After 2 days of testing in the hospital it was concluded that my cholesterol was borderline high. My Total Cholesterol was 239. I was told to take aspirin and given a prescription for some other popular medication, neither of which i took. I came across your site doing some research on natural remedies and now I am truly amazed at how ACV has working for me in only 7 weeks. My cholesterol came down from 239 to 175. I started taking 2Tbs mixed with either cranberry or grape juice in the morning and the same at night. The juice helps with the bitter taste of the Vinegar. I have had very little change in my diet, except for the fact that i no longer eat eggs! I have, however increased my activity to working out at least 3x's week. I am going to carefully watch my cholesterol and continue to drink the ACV and go back to my doctor in 2 months for another test.

My cholestrol has been high my entire adult life. I come from it naturally in a family that has the same problem. I have been put on just about every medicine that has come out without success. I have tried garlic and a low fat diet but have had no success with that either. I came across this page while researching migrane remedies and thought that I would give it a try. I started taking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water once a day about a year ago. My cholestrol has always measured around the 254 mark and my triglycrides had always been well over 300. This past January my blood draw came back with very surprising results. My cholestrol was 162 and triglycrides were 163. I made the nurse calling me double check the name on the report. I have continued this therapy hoping that it wasn't a fluke. I will know in August when I have my next blood draw. I'm hoping for even better results. I also was able to stay 100% healthy this past year. With so much illness in a very close office setting I was able to not use one sick day while most of my co-workers were off at least one day if not more. It has not produced any weight loss benefits but I'm only 140 lbs to start with so I'm not so concerned with that as I was with the cholestrol results. I have passed this on to some friends that are suffering from the same thing. I'm waiting to hear their results.

This is amazing and TRUE! Using remedies I found on this site, I lowered my total cholestrol 72..yes 72 points in one month! My Doctor called me personally to tell me NOT to fill my prescritp for Lipitor because he was "shocked" and "amazed" that my cholestol had dropped to NORMAL! He told me to "keep doing what I was doing"!

One month ago I found this website after my doctor told me my total cholestol was 272 and I'm a young 40-something year old woman! He gave me one month to "get it under control" since I was hesitant to start Lipitor.

I used ACV daily, at first 1 tsp. before each meal then working my way up to 1Tbs. twice daily, at breakfast and dinner. I also added daily at dinner time, 1200mg of Red Yeast Rice Extract, 100mg of CoQ10. 1000 mg and of Fish Oil. If I knew I were going to be eating a high fat meal, I took 3 chitosan capsules before those meals ( as needed not at each meal). I also used fresh Cilantro "chelation" daily. Basically a cilantro pesto made with 1 c. fresh cilantro, 2 Tbs. olive oil, 1/2 c. almonds, 3 cloves fresh garlic and the juice of one fresh lemon..pulse in food processor until it's a paste then eat 1 to 3 teaspoons of it daily. It worked for me, familial high cholestrol was a factor for those of you with a genetic predisposition. Try it!!!

I use coconut oil anytime that I get a sunburn and it works like a charm to relieve the skin and to help prevent peeling. I also know that when people in my family began to cook with it instead of any other oil they had a drop in cholesterol.

Red Yeast Rice
Posted by Jess G. (Hampshire ) on 09/05/2018

@Tinydancer: I agree, read the book The Great Cholesterol Myth, it makes perfect sense to me. High Cholesterol does not mean heart disease. My cholesterol is sky high but I will never take statins, I know lots of people on them, I work with the elderly, and all of them have horrible side effects. I am considering the Red Yeast Rice but am a bit dubious.

Go with your gut feeling, doctors are not keen on alternatives and generally won't even listen.

My osteopath prescribed red yeast rice for elevated triglycerides/cholesterol. Despite looking fit my triglycerides were so high that I was borderline diabetic. I took these daily and now my triglycerides are normal and my cholesterol is below 200 (very important as my Father died in his 40s from heart disease). Red Yeast rice is a statin and is so effective that a prominent drug company tried to get it taken off shelves as they argued it was infringing on their patent. Red yeast rice is available at most health food stores and is best taken with coenzyme q10.

Vitamin C

I was reading where high Cholesterol can be fixed by taking 3000-5000 mg of vitamin C per day. The theory is cholesterol attaches itself to lesions in your blood vessels. The Vitamin C repairs the lesions thus allowing the body to flush the cholesterol that is not needed naturally. Further the articles stated Cholesterol is needed to heal nerves that get damaged. The statin drugs stop the body from making cholesterol thus the nerves don't get healed. I took a fall 2 years ago and no one can figure out why I am in pain. I have been on statin drugs for 4 years. My theory is I damaged nerves in the fall and the lack of cholesterol is not allowing my nerves to heal. I weaned myself off the Lipitor. And am taking 1500 mg 3 times a day of vitamin C. I don't know if it will work I hope so. But I have noticed my memory is getting better.

Apple Cider Vinegar Lowered Cholesterol Drastically! Found out about this site when i was looking for natural alternatives to lower my cholesterol, i was on Lescol Xl-80mg, but it was damaging my liver, so they put me on Zeta 10mg, but that only knocks the numbers down by around 30 points. My problem is that my cholesterol was well into the 300's, so i followed directions found within these forums, went on a diet and added apple cider vinegar to my routine. There were so many versions of how and when to take it, so i take 2 tablespoons in water 2x daily. After having only taken it for a little over a week i went back to the doctor for blood work and my cholesterol was at that reading 185, i'm sure its even lower now!One thing i would like to point out is that i take the organic vinegar, which has "not" been heated with the "mother" intact, also because of acid/teeth issues, i drink it through a straw and rinse my mouth with baking soda water before and after. So i really thank God for this site or i would NEVER have known about the miracle that is apple cider vinegar! Now, i'm off to find a remedy for the damage the Lescol XL 80mg did to my liver, but i am confident i'm gonna find it here!

Responding to the person who damaged her liver with the cholesterol med. To help this you may want to use milk thistle. We use several capsules each day as my husband is on several meds they say he can not live without but they do some damage to his liver. Now we have found no damage since taking the milk thistle. hello, ...recently, about a week ago I took the initiative to look up cholesterol on Google, in hope of finding some natural treatment for my high cholesterol. ...and I stumbled across your site, which introduced me to 'apple cider vinegar' treatment. A treatment I have applied for a week now as directed, along with considerable garlic, each day. ...and my health in that one week has had a complete turn around. I haven't felt like this for over two years. I don't know if I owe it to apple cider vinegar or the combination of that, with garlic, but my health has made a complete turn around, in just one week. And although they tell me garlic can lower blood pressure I will keep this treatment up for a while, until at least I have brought my cholesterol down to normal levels. ...anyway, from deeply down in my heart I thank you greatly, because for over two years now I have been completely down health wise, which stressed me out considerably throughout that period, since I never felt any comfort in my state of health. ...thank you very much.

Ted, I followed this pectin experiment on hogs. I ate one-half grapefruit a day, . I peeled the skin and ate everything including the pith (white part) , except seeds. I took most of the pith from the peeling and ate them too. Little bit bitter, but after one month my cholesterol dropped down a lot.

Denise,

Since you are considering using melatonin, the following meta analysis should interest you regarding triglycerides :

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0261561417314012#:~:text=Meta-analysis suggested a significant, p = 0.197) was found.

Here is a relevant quote :

' A total of 8 RCTs were eligible. Meta-analysis suggested a significant association between melatonin supplementation and a reduction in triglycerides (WMD: −31.54 mg/dL, 95% CI: −50.71, −12.38, p = 0.001), and total cholesterol levels (WMD: −18.48 mg/dL, 95% CI: −35.33, −1.63, p = 0.032), while no significant effect on LDL-C (WMD: −2.37 mg/dL, 95% CI: −11.61, −6.86, p = 0.615) and HDL-C (WMD: 1.28 mg/dL, 95% CI: −0.66, 3.23, p = 0.197) was found. In sub-group analysis, a significant decrease in triglycerides was found at doses ≥8 mg/d and when trials last ≥8 weeks. In addition, a significant decrease of total cholesterol was found at doses ≥8 mg/d and when total cholesterol baseline levels were ≥200 mg/dL. '

Thanks so much Timh. I appreciate the info. I have a few questions: How many milligrams on the vitamin C &Lysine? Also how many mg on the Grapeseed extract and should it be taken every day? I know we can't mention brands here but if you could give me a hint as to where I can purchase the Methionine w/B-12 & Folic Acid, I would certainly appreciate it. I looked on Amazon but didn't see it. Which do you think is better, soy or sunflower lecithin? We were taking organic sunflower lecithin but didn't see any improvement. Perhaps the triple strength will do the trick. Well, I guess that turned out to be more than a few questions:)

Thanks so much. I'm trying so hard to keep my husband off of the awful cholesterol medication. These new injectable ones have some really really bad side effects.

Dear Jan - For high cholesterol, try Niacin (vitamin B3) - and don't be alarmed by the famous niacin flush, which though unpleasant, and sometimes accompanied by itching, is harmless and soon wears off. Do NOT be fobbed off with niacimide (the non-flush version).

Bill,

The virgin coconut oil available here seems to have been switched or mixed with copra oil recently. Even the more expensive brands that used to always smell like fresh coconut. It becomes most apparent when cooking with it - it takes on a strong "off" smell. Even a carton of coconut based ice cream had the copra smell. Is that happening in the Philippines?

Does heating the coconut oil alter its tendency to raise cholesterol?

Do you have any information about red rice yeast and it having the same side effects as statins? To a small quantity of hot water in a glass, add a small spoonful of pure coconut oil and wild honey and stir until dispersed, add 200 - 250ml of spring water 10ml of raw cider vinegar and 25ml aloe vera, do not sip but try to drink it fairly quickly, this should sort things out.

Understanding the Role of Cholesterol
Posted by Nat (Brooklyn, Ny) on 11/11/2015

There is evidence that just as high cholesterol is dangerous, so is (too) low cholesterol.

Low cholesterol is associated with higher rates of aggression, violent behavior, depression, suicide, also cancer, Parkinson's, memory loss, and other illnesses. So, while lowering cholesterol lowers risks of heart disease, it raises risks of other health issues.

In the book Uninformed Consent the authors quote a recommendation of around 230 as being the (all around) safest cholesterol level.

So if someone is fighting anger, depression, etc, maybe he should check his cholesterol levels and if they are on the low side try to raise them to around 230.

Maimonides, a Jewish sage and doctor taught that in personal traits the middle way is balanced and healthy. To get to the middle and balanced way one should examine one's personal traits and strive to bend any unbalanced personal trait to its opposite, (after-which, in most cases, one should bring the trait to the middle; with anger, however, one should bend it too its opposite without afterwards going to the middle). And what is the opposite of anger? Rabbi Eliyahu of Vilna said that one should bend anger to mercy (and this will help a person overcome anger). Nachmanides, Rabbi Moshe ben Nachman taught that one should train oneself to always "speak all one's worlds, calmly/gently/softly to all people, at all times, and in all circumstances, and in this way one will be saved from anger".

HI U GERTG, , , , , , , , , , , most MD's don't have a clue as to how to use flushing Niacin and as a result turn the patient off. They had rather you be on a statin drug anyway. First people flush at a different dosages. I always buy my supplement in 100 mg capsules so I can slowly build up to the dosage that just causes me to flush. I suspect that at 500 mg you were way high on your tolerance. I find that flushing near bedtime affects my sleep. The Naturopath who introduced me to this detox, said to start a short walk after taking the supplement as exercise aids in starting the flush.

I encourage you to start at 200 mg and take a morning walk. If you do not flush then go to 300mg the next day. You will soon find what works for you without a lot of hassle.

Hope this has been of some help.

Ppodruga: Hdl should be 60. High hdl indicates oxidation making bad hdl. Ldl should be below 130. Total cholesterol should be below 200. The cholesterol of Mike Adams is approximately 70/70. Taking meds is not good. Eating cooked conventionally grown foods does not provide enough nutrition for optimal functioning. Search raw food and super food videos. Take yucca spray dried for horses. The saponins are very beneficial. Take black chia seeds and organic apples. The soluble fiber is very beneficial. Take organic beans. Small red, kidney, and pinto are best. Take desiccated liver. A good liver makes good cholesterol. Take non denatured whey isolate. This makes glutathione that mops up free radicals and prevents oxidation. Take raw cocoa powder and 90, 000hu cayenne. This is best for the cardio vascular system. Take 3ml/day skate liver oil. If you have not been taking a d3 supplement then take 5000iu d3/day. Make green smoothies from organic baby greens and add some nutritional yeast every 4 hours. Take 1 organic strawberry every 4 hours or take 200mg vitamin c from a whole food concentrate. After that take 50mg c from the whole food concentrate 4x/day.

I can't say exactly what you need but for most people Nattokinase should be sufficient. I myself take both nattokinase and serrapeptase because CFIDS causes chronic blood coagulation. I found thru experimentation over time that that combination works for me the best. I can actually feel it working in me. I'd look into MK7 vitamin K2 also because that may help keep the arteries free of calcium build up. Take with meal.

Lumbrokinase has clinical research behind it but is more expensive. No studies will be done on Nattokinase because it would hurt the financial interests of many synthetic blood clot removal products. I found nattokinase very effective for arteries so never bothered with lumbrokinase. Enzymes in general help with biofilms and dissolving various things in the body also. I also take bromelaine which acts on biofilm also. The only thing I can think of that I would maybe avoid is using aspirin on a daily basis with them. You will be fine playing with serrapeptase also.

Take the enzymes on an empty stomach. I take my enzymes all together in morning and before bed when stomachg empty. If one takes nattokinase once a day, they say the best time is before bed since blood has tendency to coagulate more when you lie horizontal. probably why many people have heart attacks in their sleep.

Dear Robin,

The spike up could just be a bad reading...that happens all the time. It's cheap to get another reading from an outside lab to confirm the aberrant jump.

I'm one of those who consumes Vitamin E (natural/ not synthetic) and so believe that cholesterol readings ... at least for me.... do not matter because the E keeps platelets "slick" as well as arteries and veins and hence foreign substances will not stick and form clots. Thus the damage that might happen will be kept from taking place. The problem with trying to keep cholesterol from forming by statin drug use misses the essential point that the body (the liver) intentionally makes cholesterol and cholesterol is essential for body health.

Google Dr.Ron Rosedale's " exposing the cholesterol myth" a you tube video...only 9 minutes long. Very informative.

The reason people want to lower cholesterol is because of heart disease. People should be aware that medical studies concluded many years ago that there is no correlation between heart disease and cholesterol. Same with salt. People with low cholesterol die from heart disease at the same rate as people with high cholesterol.

Heart disease (and stroke) comes down to one thing - cleaning your arteries. You use fibrolytic enzymes like nattokinase and serrapeptase for that. You take them on emnpty stomach. They protect you from strokes and heart attacks. Cholesterol is there to protect you. If it wasn't for that, you'd be dead. Do the research. Even the so called "bad" cholesterol is turning out to be good. Stop worrying about cholesterol and focus on cleaning your arteries.

For your sciatica - Take a form of highly absorb-able Hyaluronic Acid on empty stomach. I know the Biocell formula works. This will replenish your synovial fluid.

Robin: I will second most of the advise posted and would particularly second Prioris's recommend for "artery cleanse" w/ systemic enzymes. This could be done taken once daily for the contents of the bottle at least once yrly.

Also, you should include some herbal liver support because the liver is the metabolic factory for cholesterol (as one poster verified). Here's a list: Milk Thistle Seed, Artichoke Leaves, Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, Yellowdock Root, Beet Root. Try to find an otc product w/ as many of these herbs in combination as possible. These will increase bile flow which also increases the solubility of fats. Triple strength lecithin also increases the solubility of cholesterol.

Hi Robin... Regarding the problems of high total cholesterol, I do not follow the modern medical belief that high total cholesterol is bad, bad, bad.

Current opinion concerning healthy cholesterol levels follows The Lipid Theory which assumes that fats, particularly saturated fats, are bad for you.

I prefer Linus Pauling's Unified Theory concerning cholesterol which seems to make much more sense. Here is a comparison of these two theories given in a very easy to understand document which was written by a knowledgeable pharmacist that might help you to understand these two points of view:

Comparing the Unified Theory with the Lipid Theory

In your own case, your total cholesterol certainly has suddenly risen considerably. Cholesterol is needed in the body to help build and to help repair damaged cells. Therefore a sudden high rise in total cholesterol tells me that there might be damaged tissue or a damaged organ (not necessarily the heart) in your body -- which has caused the sudden rise in needed cholesterol.

Since you are also having menopause problems(you are taking Primrose oil) this could also be causing your cholesterol levels to suddenly fluctuate. Cholesterol is also essential to manufacture hormones such as testosterone and estrogen.

The best way to help both your cholesterol and menstrual issues or changes would be to supplement lugols iodine or Iodoral(lugol's iodine in a pill). Iodine helps to balance the hormones by converting estrone (strong psuedo-estrogen) to estriol (weak estrogen).

The iodine, when combined with the niacin that you are taking, should also help to safely lower cholesterol levels and also help reduce any menstrual issues.

If you decide to take the Iodine Protocol then you should take all the iodine companion nutrients as advised in this document:

A Guide to Supplementing Iodine

Hello Elaine,

Yes, the problems are from the statins...or so assume. Good you got off when you did.

Suggestion on dealing with the continuing problem, eg neck etc.

To get the statins out of you, cleanse. I mean deep cleanse. There are different cleansers The best to get to the cellular level, lemon drink while fasting. Six lemons cut in half and squeeze a half in purified glass of water. Twelve glasses of that a day; so six lemons daily...for ten days. By the third day, you'll be visiting rest room every thirty minutes; the lemon will clean out down to the cellular level. Also you'll knock out any kidney stones you happen to have.

Statin drugs will damage ones health over the long term.

High cholesterol is a manufactured health problem. It makes no sense why you should be concerned about cholesterol. High cholesterol may be a tip off that you have blood coagulation problems. I have had cholesterol near the 400 range for over 50 years. I'm not the least bit concerned about it because I know it is an imaginary problem.

Assume that you have mycoplasma, you could try erythromicin, borax and other things.

You would also have blood coagulation problems. I would strongly suggest fibrolytic enzymes like nattokinase and serrapeptase since it addresses the core problem. Experiment to see what combination is the best.

You do not need to take the Red Rice since it isn't addressing the core problems.

You talk about oxidative damage then why not take astaxanthin. it is a very powerful anti-oxidant. Take at least 8-12 mg per day

sugar is not cause of heart disease

"The interesting thing is that most cases of heart disease in the twentieth century are of a form that is new, namely heart attack or myocardial infarction—a massive blood clot leading to obstruction of a coronary artery and consequent death to the heart muscle. Myocardial infarction (MI) was almost nonexistent in 1910 and caused no more than 3, 000 deaths per year in 1930. Dr. Paul Dudley White, who introduced the electrocardiograph machine to America, stated the following during a 1956 American Heart Association televised fund-raiser: "I began my practice as a cardiologist in 1921 and I never saw an MI patient until 1928." By 1960, there were at least 500, 000 MI deaths per year in the US. Rates of stroke have also increased and the cause is similar—blockage in the large arteries supplying the brain with blood." http://www.examiner.com/article/american-heart-assassination

In recent studies, it was found that the so called "bad" cholesterol became more useful as people aged.

The amount of sugar consumed by the population hasn't changed much since 1900. Sugar has been demonized for a long time. Moderate consumption of sugar is not a problem. If I make a large lemon meringue pie, I only use around 110 grams of sugar. If I eat half the pie today, I only am eating 55 grams of sugar which is way less than average. People don't have to give up sweet things like pies, cake and ice cream since they generally don't contain a lot of sugar. Ideally, using non refined cane sugar may be even more healthier.

Telling people to give up sugar is just silly. There may be other health conditions it may be more relevant in but heart disease is not one of them. People can experiment with their diet to see what effect it has on them.

RED YEAST RICE, according to research findings from Dr. Mercola (internet), RYRice is a STATIN drug. We were very surprised and were using as this information was not divulged. It is Lovastatin (Mevacor and Altocor). So if you believe you are taking a natural supplement - Surprise! Provided your tests after statin drugs were good, you are better off to NOT take anything for cholesterol, eat heallthy and take lots of vitamins. Statins are a danger to the liver, as we all know. Same goes for Red Yeast Rice. Manufacturers are very clever hiding the statin facts. Also if the RYR contains citrinin, it is dangerous. Should be removed. Again that information not found on most supplements on the market. Good cholesterol is one of our best friends and is vital componet of every cell membrane. Eat healthy to maintain good cholesterol levels. Love this site - very beneficial. I go no where else to get natural remedies. Wonderful site!

Prioris: Good advise. If I may back up a step to say that the damage that occurs to arteries in the first place is usually by INFLAMMATION. Inflammation, then scarring, then cholesterol plaques, then heart attacks.

Turmeric, Pineapple, and Omega 3's to treat the inflammation. Pine Bark and Grapeseed Extracts are powerful artery protectors.

There are scars and plaque build up but the fibrolytic enzymes scrub the plaque build up from the arteries away. I think anti-inflammation nutrition may possibly keep inflammation down while the fibrolytic enzymes do their work faster but that would be just a guess. I need to take both nattokinase and serrapeptase for my particular situation. I found that thru experimenting over a couple years. In the end, we try to fit what we learn from other people to our own health situation.

You're thinking of Serrapeptase. It also is known for eating scar tissue build up in the body. Nattokinase is totally a natural substance of the body. It helps clear away the plaque build up. The body will only use whatever it needs. China has done thousands of studies on fibrolytic enzymes. They work. Most people should do fine with just Nattokinase.

You would stir in a pinch with your ACV and water.

So, it should be taken with ACV. I thought that it is an alternative to the ACV and water combo. Thanks a bunch for the reply.

Migs: Thanx for posting your success story. I suppose that ACV works in several ways to accomplish this feat of lowering cholesterol. One, it buffers excess acid production (acidosis severely depletes enzymes). Two, stimulation of digestion (especially the bilary). Three, ACV kills Pathogens like Candida. Four, it stimulates metabolism (revs up the krebs cycle).

Oat Straw Tea

I had made a submission a couple weeks back inquiring if anyone else had heard about or used oat straw tea. My wife and I have been using it for about a month now for a multitude of reasons. For me, it was for cholesterol. I wasn't sure if or how much it might be working, but recent routine blood work with our doctor for both my wife and myself showed that it works quite well.

My cholesterol has never been as low as it was this time. Total cholesterol had dropped a full 20 points. LDL was down from 101 to 82 and HDL was up from 40 to 56. Triglycerides had dropped from 65 to 45.

My wife's cholesterol had also dropped substantially, but for her the best thing was a 65 point drop in her triglycerides.

We bought it in bulk online, in a 1# bag. We put 2 tblsp in a tea bag and brew it by the pot. I drink most of it, but my wife will drink at least one cup a day. We also add an herbal flavored tea, such as apricot or pomagranate for flavor. The oat straw doesn't have much flavor of its own. My wife also likes to ad a little stevia.

It is relatively cheap. After a month, we have barely put a dent in the 1# bag. There aren't any side effects and its all natural.

Though I have oatmeal for breakfast on most days, supplemented with coconut oil, nuts, blackstrap molasses, nuts and yogurt. My cholesterol dropped some, but not enough to make the doctors happy. Even though I don't buy into the "one size fits all" cholesterol numbers that the drug companies promote to the medical profession, I did think it would be a good idea to bring my numbers in line a little better, but naturally.

I had read somewhere about 'oat straw tea', so I thought I would give it a try. Straw in my area, goes for about $3 a bale, which would presumably make a lot of tea. I use disposable tea sacks, but a tea ball would suffice.

I have blood work done on a regular basis for my heart and thyroid. After drinking a cup or two of 'oat straw tea' every evening for several months, my blood work showed a drop of 30 points in my LDL, a 15 increase in HDL and triglycerides also dropped correspondingly.

I stopped drinking it, though I don't remember why, and the numbers returned to where they had been. Not good. So, I started drinking it again.

This time around, LDL went from 135 to 95, HDL went from 40 to 55 and triglycerides dropped from 65 to 35.

Both times, the ONLY thing that changed was the use or lack of use of the 'oat straw tea'. I was amazed. The beauty of 'oat straw tea' is that it is simple, cheap and there are NO harmful side effects.

I strongly encourage others to give this a try. If you don't have a farmer close by that grows oats, you can buy OST online in bulk and use your own strainer. I've tried other natural methods to lower cholesterol and never saw such positive results. You get the benefit of the oats without the carbs. I brew it by the pot, along with my favorite herb tea, and keep the leftovers in the fridge for my wife to drink as iced tea. Oh yeah, her numbers all dropped also.

I have just started reading a book called "The Cholesterol Myth", written by two doctors I saw interviewed on Dr. Oz. I would suggest that before he takes too much of those statin drugs, you read the book. It's pretty eye opening. Good luck to you.

Doctors get kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies? My husband is a doctor. The only things he gets -- on occasion -- are samples, which help patients without insurance.

On another note, I am anxious to try the vinegar regimen! Thank you for the information.

Tried Red Yeast Rice for a while. Went to a doctor visit, and they told me I had blood in my urine. I immediately thought of the Red Yeast Rice, and told them I was taking it. They told me to discontinue and return for another urine specimen in a week. I did, and everything was fine.

Book Reviews

If you'd search "statin-induced neuropathy" on the web and you'll be amazed at how many people are suffering from this statin drug. I am one of the victims by this big Pharma scam! Most of us suffer debilitating pains in our lower bodies plus other symtoms due to the damage caused by statins on our peripherol nurvous systems. This disease can hit some patients even after they stopped their statins for four years! Sadly, it is not reversable and so far, there is no cure! A former NASA medical doctor, spoke from his own experience, said:"Don't waste your time and money, just take as much CoQ10 as you can afford!".

So beware! Those who are being advised to take statins by your doctors should pay close attention to your body reactions. The best thing is to evaluate yourself if it is reallly benefitial to you. Is cloresterol as bad as they claim? Search the web and you'll find many infos that might shock you! It was too late for me! Cholesterol has been distorted by the big Pharma for they can benefit big time in it - worldwide sales of statins is over $160 billion annually. But to those who suffer this so called side effects from the statins everyday, it is a killing drug! Many healthy people became sick and a few died from this drug! I don't know how much incentive my doctor who prescribed me the statins had received, but I wish him and those who push the statins to burn in hell!

PS - I wonder if EC would open a new link on this topic? I am sure I am not the only victim of statins over here! Ironically, if I didn't suffer from this thing, I would'nt be connected to this wonderful website! Thank you, EC!

EC: Thanks for the suggestion. Your reply has been cross-posted to the newly created page: https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/statin-induced-neuropathy.html

High Cholesterol: My bad cholesterol was over 200. After taking one 1200 mg. of red yeast rice tablet in the morning and one in the evening for 3 months, it dropped to 170 and my good cholesterol rose. I saw a report on this on the national news health watch segment. They reported that is does as well or better than statin drugs.
