Resistant Human pathogenic candida - new strain.. The following abstract was obtained from Pubmed.com. Are they possibly talking about the candida related to morgellons?

Mol Microbiol. 2005 Dec;58(5):1288-302.
Candida albicans MTLalpha tup1Delta mutants can reversibly switch to mating-competent, filamentous growth forms.

In a study on this same site, essential oils Dill and Geranium were successful in fighting all species of candida better than antifungals on the market.

Iodine

Hi Cindy...The iodine you have is not strong enough. When you compare 1 drop of your iodine forte(150 micrograms of iodide) against 1 drop of 5% lugols iodine(6.25 mgs) then the one drop of lugols contains 41 times more iodine than one drop of Iodine Forte. This means that one drop of 5% Lugols Iodine equals 41 drops of Iodine Forte in terms of iodine content.

Also, you have the potassium iodide form which is certainly useful but not as useful as LI which contains all three forms of iodine in solution -- iodine, iodide and triiodide. Since your Iodine Forte is just potassium iodide it will therefore not have the same benefits as LI because it does not contain the other two forms -- iodine and triiodide -- in solution.

That's why it might perhaps be better and more effective to use Lugols Iodine. Also remember that you can use Iodoral if you wish which is just LI in a pill. You can find and order Iodoral easily on the internet.

If you have already bought the Iodine Forte I wouldn't throw it away -- you can still use it for other things.

Bill, my alternative doctor has given me liquid iodine forte. The bottle says 1 drop 0.05 ml iodine as potassium iodide 150 mcg. Is this as good as lugol's? Is it worth taking and how much to equal lugol's? He has me on two drops a day. Is that enough for the candida protocol? Thanks for your help

Baking Soda

Pamela: Candida is not your disease, it's the effect of some other disease like parasitic infestation (very high risk for pet owners) or any number of pathogens that are the primary cause resulting in immune dysfunction.

I would recommend taking Oregano Oil extracts in the a.m. and garlic oil extract before retiring as a simple first step. An herbal parasite formula like "Black Walnut Complex" is advised. Also take 25-50 mg Zinc Citrate w/ 10, 000 iu Vit-A daily (this will boost immune function and protect the gut from invading pathogens. L-Glutamine will boost the immune cells in the intestines.

Start w/ this and continue for a few wks and if you don't see much good results fallow Bill's anti-candida protocol which is available in full version in his new book "Killing So Sweetly" or the truncated version here on E.C.

I've had systemic candidiasis for as long as I can remember. I've tried many things, but almost everything I try seems to have the opposite effect on me, making me worse. I recently read about using baking soda, but one of my questions is, doesnt this lower the acid in your stomach? I have low stomach acid so I don't want to make that worse either. how can I treat candida while not lowering the stomach acid? What is the best, most recent protocol for this? I read the threads and there are so many different things it's very confusing.

There is a very persistent myth that Candida albicans cannot survive a high (alkaline) pH. The fact is that C. albicans can survive very acid to extremely alkaline pH. The primary difference is the form it takes on dependent on the pH. At a low (acidic) pH C. albicans remains in a less pathogenic yeast form, and its growth is inhibited. When C. albicans is exposed to a high (alkaline) pH it promotes the formation of its hyphal growth. This hyphal growth allows C. albicans to not only become pathogenic, but also to allow it to invade deep in to tissues and to promote organ damage. This hyphal growth is inhibited at an acidic pH of 4 or below reducing tissue invasion and damage.

Magnesium Chloride

Hi John D....I would use the Magnesium Oil (70% Magnesium and 30% water) both orally and transdermally. Magnesium is used in over 300 major body processes and is used in 700-800 enzyme systems within the the body(according to Dr Carolyn Dean from her book ) -- including digestion, the immune system and for keeping the intestinal environment healthy. See this link.

Their are many sources of Magnesium Chloride. Dr Carolyn Dean sells the pico magnesium form whereas Dr Sircus advocates the natural Zechstein (mined from the Earth containing other minerals) derived magnesium chloride form. Carolyn Dean's pico magnesium form is said to be better absorbed. She promotes magnesium brands such as ReMag. Dr Sircus promotes Ancient Minerals magnesium. Dr Sircus's magnesium chloride form is natural and contains many other minerals besides which are beneficial for the body. Also bear in mind that both Dr Carolyn Dean and Dr Sircus are probably being nicely paid to advertise that ReMag or Ancient Minerals are the best form of Magnesium Chloride to take. So its up to you to decide really

I bought my own magnesium chloride as a hydrated chemical powder in Thailand and make my own Magnesium Oil whenever I need it. I'm still using it after 5 years.

Hi Daisy-b...The link to the Doctor Fungus website is here. I know this link works because I physically checked it before I put in the link. The Dr Fungus website is a very good site if you want to learn all about fungus in the body. It's run by an independent research group called The Mycosis Study Group and I also give their link in my candida book as well.

If you still can't get to the website with the above good link, then think NSA or other govt agency -- they may well be deliberately blocking you. While these agencies are so busy creating fear from terrorists as justification for their Big Brother approach with robbery of liberties and freedoms as now being the norm, they are also working hand in glove with corporations and cartels such as Big Pharma to help promote their products and defeat the alternative med opposition. For quite a while now the NSA has been working very closely with Google, FaceBook, Microsoft etc on the internet. Not only are they watching you, they are deliberately interfering with your free choice and website access on the internet as well.

As further evidence of this web interference, let me say that I access research sites like PubMed, Medline and many others quite a lot in my own research and I have noticed that -- this last year in particular -- there are times when I have great difficulty accessing these research websites easily. There are also days when I seem to have have great difficulty accessing the EarthClinic website itself. Usually I get an "Unable to connect..." timeout error and yet I can access all other websites quite easily and without problems. And I've recently upgraded to a faster internet connection -- no difference. And as I've already described, there can only be one true logical explanation for this strange site access problem on the internet.

Thank you for being there EC. Maybe you can help with another good info source.

I recently came across a very interesting and informative website 'DoctorFungus.org' chock full of information on candida and its' symptoms; plus some protocols for addressing this issue, beautifully laid out--

About a week ago, I tried to go back to the website and it seems to have vanished!! Googling and even changing browsers does not bring up anything anymore. It's just gone... Does anybody happen to know who is/was Dr. Fungus and how to get in touch with him?

Big Thanks!

This is in reference to Tony's post about being afflicted with candida and many other health issues.I went through much of what your saying. I did extensive search online to find a remedy since most doctors I went to didn't know how to diagnose me. I had many symptoms and they look at me like I'm sick in the head. For hepatitis b I took milk thistle and olive leaf for about 2 months and for candida the secret is to cut off ALL sugars and bread, pasta, rice, etc. Basically I was eating only salads, meats, chick peas, raw veggies, and kefir which is great for fighting candida. I also went a gluten free diet. I also take black seed oil (nigella sativa) research it online. I also have thyroid issues, headaches, nerve problems, swelling in random places.I f you would like to ask please reply to the post I will check frequently.

Alkalizing Foods

Hello Juliana,

Re Baked potatoes/digestion problem

You're right...very unusual but not so odd if you are using a lot of sour cream and margarine to "stuff" the potato. Also at night if you're eating the potato I presume you are having something with it...meat of some kind? So if you get only the inner portion of the potato (without the skin that is fiber) and a meat, then you don't have sufficient fiber to move the digestion process along. This is one reason why Europeans will FINISH a meal with a salad. The fiber enhances the digestive process. I eat potatoes by eating most all the "skin" which help with digestion too.

Now it could be, you are lacking digestive enzymes. A favorite on Earth Clinic is a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) in a glass of water and sip. Also can add a third teaspoon of baking soda to the ACV/water and let fizz and then drink; a milder but effective "aperitif" or digestive aid. And, consider leaving off some of the stuffing ingredients, especially if eaten at night...leave off cheese, sour cream and margarine. Even butter could irritate a sensitive digestive track. But I've found eating the fiber (skin and salad) and avoiding the milk additions PLUS the ACV in water, lets me eat without negative consequences. (If still having problems, think of adding a probiotic to your nutrient list.)

Candida and Acetaldehyde Neutralization
Posted by Bill (San Fenando, Philippines) on 03/14/2014

Hi Larry...For a source of Sodium Molybdate -- try ebay.com. See this link. If you buy the powder then you will probably need to also buy a digital weighing machine to measure out the correct 10 mg to 20 mg dosages that Ted recommends. And you may want to also buy a pill making machine as well to make the pills in batches for convenience.

Candida and Acetaldehyde Neutralization
Posted by Larry (Fairfax, Va) on 03/12/2014

Recently, I read on Earth Clinic that 10-20 milligrams of molybdenum is needed for optimum acetaldehyde neutalization results, and therefore one had to use powdered molybdenum to enable this dosage; whereas molybdenum pills are down in the range of about 900 micrograms. Can anyone suggest a source of powdered molybdenum? Thanks.

Bentonite Clay
Posted by Bill (San Fenando, Philippines) on 03/04/2014

Hi Vanessa...Bentonite clay will certainly help against candida. Bentonite should be taken in a glass of water outside mealtimes together with psyllium husks for best effect. Azomite is another one that is used in the same way. What I would also advise is to add a squeezed lemon to the bentonite, psyllium and water as well as to regularly take milk thistle and a magnesium supplement(Magnesium Chloride or Magnesium Citrate forms are best).

Bentonite is renowned for its detoxing properties which include removal of parasites, bacteria, toxins and many heavy metals. For more on Bentonite's health properties see here and here.

One caveat with Bentonite. Don't use bentonite together with allopathic drugs at the same time -- because bentonite will also act to remove synthetic drugs from the intestines as well. So do not supplement bentonite within 2 hours of any allopathic drug use.

Also, supplementing Molybdenum or sodium molybdate acts to generate and increase an enzyme in the body called aldehyde dehydrogenase (AD) which is the main enzyme that removes aldehydes and alcohols from the body. The majority of toxins emitted as waste by candida are aldehydes which can seriously effect the brain and mood. The AD enzyme converts aldehydes to acetic acit which is actually beneficial for the body. Additionally, adding pantethine and pantothenic acid to this protocol will also help to remove and safely neutralize dangerous candida toxins in the blood and this will consequently help to remove the depression and improve your husbands mood. Because sodium molybdate also kills candida -- this means that candida will be killed while, at the same time, acting also to neutralize and remove candida toxins so no side-effects on the mind should happen on die-off. See this link for the full details on dosages for molybdenum, pantethine and pantethenic acid(Vitamin B5). Taking a regular laxative (Philip's Milk of Magnesia should also be used -- this will also help to kill candida because of its high alkalinity and will remove alot of intestinal debris quickly).

Since your husband has had candida for over 40 years, then its practically a certainty that his fungal infection will be system wide or a systemic infection -- this means that his candida infection will not be just in the intestines but will also be in the blood, organs and tissues of his body.

For now, because of the amount of candida in his body and his extreme sensitivity to die off, I would simply concentrate on the complete removal of all candida from his intestines which always tends to be the throne of candida. Once this has been achieved and the symptoms reduced then perhaps you can move him on to a proper and full anti-candida protocol that will get rid of the candida and other bacterial infections from his blood. If you do not attempt to remove the systemic candida form from his blood, then it will simply act to come back in to repopulate and re-infect his intestines later. There is a full candida protocol, which includes diet here on EC.

Bentonite Clay

Hi, this question is for Bill. My husband has had systemic candida for at least 40 years (he is 61 years old). His main symptom of candida is serious depression. He refuses to take anything that kills candida because the die-off reaction is also depression. Do you know if bentonite clay can reduce the die-off since it flushes toxins out of the body? Thanks for your time!

Boric Acid
Posted by Zark (Emerald City, The Land Of Oz) on 01/27/2014

In response to 10/01/2008: Leigh from Dallas, TX:

It isn't appropriate to add up the dosage over a two week period like this. Lethal Dose information informs how much is deadly if taken in one sitting. It certainly does not inform you how much can be taken over consecutive days, let alone a two week period.

I could quite safely drink 3 glasses of wine a day over 2 weeks. However if I drank all that alcohol in one sitting I would certainly die. Even the meat we consume over two weeks would cause death from protein poisoning if we were to eat it all at once (yes, there really is such a thing as protein poisoning).

Lufenuron

As an adult woman I've had a few yeast infections but last year I was given some really strong antibiotics and after that I had what was a permanent yeast infection for a year. I also have a skin condition called psoriasis. I came across the possibility of a severe candida infection and began researching. I finally came across this website about Lufenuron, which is actually a veterinary drug. I ordered it online, it arrived from the Czech Republic, I was a bit concerned - but I went for it. It worked.

None of my natural remedies worked, and though I'm all for natural I cannot tell you the relief I have now. It was well worth the die-off (yeah, I woke up in the middle of the night with a raging migraine and puked my guts out) and feeling very ill for a few days. But it's been 3 weeks now and no sign of the yeast infection. I am not at all associated with this company or anything like that - but I am dedicated to sharing this info with as many people as possible so I?m trying to retrace my digital steps and visit all the forums I looked at while I was trying to find help so I could help you all.

Coconut Oil
Posted by Claire - S.A.C. Dip. (Diet & Nutrition) (Birmingham, Uk) on 01/05/2014

If candida is the problem in the first instance i.e., acetaldehyde is the result of candida overgrowth, start eating two tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil a day along with garlic. They are both anti-fungal and will get rid of the problem - you should expect to see results within about three months. Secondly, reduce your intake of sugar as candida thrives on the stuff.

I suffered recurring bouts of thrush through repeated use of antibiotics following surgery for a ruptured appendix and finally found the solution years afterwards after trying all sorts of things. Keep in mind that you must always treat the root cause of the problem and not just the symptoms otherwise it is like trying to eliminate smoke while ignoring the fire. In addition, the human body is a delicate balance so try to keep everything in moderation.

I hope this advice helps :)

Wormwood

This is what gets rid of candida for me:

  • a wormwood combination product (from vitacost online) that contains wormwood, black walnut, cloves, quassia and male fern root.
  • white oak bark taken on an empty stomach with a digestive enzyme,
  • a really good probiotic (not one from your local drugstore)
  • super strength odorless garlic capsules

It's very important to keep your body alkaline and a fizzy alkalizer with potassium bicarbonate and natural alkalizers works a lot better than baking soda to do this. I buy a good one online from swanson's.

I must eat complex carbs for energy, and so I take these remedies when the candida gets bad.

I had good success using Dr. McCombs candida diet. I found taking apple cider vinegar halfway through to be helpful. I also took virgin coconut oil all the way through. I found this study on lufenuron:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16008236

Am J Vet Res. 2005 Jun;66(6):1090-3.
Comparison of susceptibility of fungal isolates to lufenuron and nikkomycin Z alone or in combination with itraconazole.
Hector RF, Davidson AP, Johnson SM.

RESULTS:
No evidence of inhibition, either by susceptibility testing or direct microscopic examination of treated cells, was obtained with lufenuron under experimental conditions. In contrast, nikkomycin Z, a known inhibitor of fungal chitin synthesis, had potent activity against C immitis when used singly. A synergistic interaction between nikkomycin Z and itraconazole was found against isolates of both species tested.

CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE:
On the basis of our in vitro data, lufenuron does not appear to possess antifungal properties.

E.C.: Studying the latest posts from all the wonderful people is fun. Dr. Oz says 28,000 studies have been done on candida. The candida cleanser recommends a chitin synthesis inhibitor, n-fused strengthening the immune system, and candisol enzymes. Dr. Crook says avoid ferments, fruits, molasses, and brewers yeast. All of them make the mistake of condemning sugar. Low blood sugar and mycotoxins cause chronic fatigue and migraines. Everybody is missing the point that there is a balance between the 2 yeasts. They are underestimating the potency of God's Goodies that are raw whole foods and ferments. They are overestimating their narrowly focused plans. The complete solution is simple. Make home made water kefir to repopulate the gut with beneficial microbes, take alkalizing greens from whole foods like Hawaiian spirulina, chlorella, and green smoothies, and get sugar from raw honey, organic sucanet, and raw organic fruits. This feeds the yeast that went dormant and the balance between the 2 yeasts is restored. There are many videos of people who fully recovered rapidly.

Alkalizing Foods

The candida plan makes 3 assumptions. Isolates from supplement manufacturers are superior to raw whole foods that all animals on earth eat. Candida and sugar are bad. These are common misconceptions. There are 2 good yeasts in the body of people who enjoy well being. Eating cooked improperly processed food causes acidosis. One is not able to survive and goes dormant. The other mutates like cancer and becomes bad. The solution is to eat alkalyzing foods like spirulina and green smoothies. The dormant yeast does not wake up because there is not any sugar to eat. Eating sugar from raw organic fruits, sucanet, and raw honey feeds the dormant yeast. The candida goes back to being good and balance is restored. This provides full and rapid recovery while the candida plan only offers small relief. There are many videos of people who recovered.
