Natural Treatments for Cancer

If you read internet blogs, you will find claims that everything under the sun treats cancer (and everything causes cancer).

Knowing many friends and relatives with different types of cancers, I want to be able to help with alternatives to chemo and radiation. Even if they choose to go with chemo and radiation, and you certainly can't blame them when they're fighting for their lives, perhaps there are some alternative therapies that help the process.

Of course, there are some legitimate alternative treatments out there. Please reply with the very best alternative treatments you know of, especially if you've witnessed the treatment's success for yourself.

There have to be some treatments that, when applied together, do much better than a singular treatment. There are also different cancers that may be better treated with one type of treatment versus another.

I've listed some treatments I've heard about:

Essiac tea, Budwig Protocol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Antioxidants, Mega doses of Vitamin C, detoxing, Omega 3 and other Omegas, Ozone therapy, group prayer, energy healing, Acupuncture, Tesla Coil, hot springs bathing, sulphur springs bathing, oil pulling, hyperbaric chamber, Coconut Oil, Coenzyme Q-10, Ubiquinone.

Please read the story of Jacinta and John and the protocol they developed to overcome Jacinta's very serious cancer diagnosis. It is not the same cancer as you describe but some of the protocol may also work for you, too. Jacinta has been well for 38 months now.

I received this link from a relative. Some seems unclear to For example. Ted says no potassium gluconate, yet says it blocks cancer glycosis. There are a good number of very strong alternatives to Dr. Simoncini baking soda treatment. If we do a google search for ["independent cancer research" and "strongest alternative"], we can see a lot information about some of them. Also, it's important to see how your progress is during the healing cycle. For this I would check into the Navarro urine test.

The best advice it to stop all dairy completely. A doctor cured herself by remembering when doing a stint in China it was called "rich womens disease", as only the rich could afford cows milk at that time. She stopped all dairy and the tumours just disapeared. Stop all sugar, as it's jet fuel for cancer cells. Then try 400 mg of cayenne daily. You'll only have to do it for a couple of weeks to see if it's working... Breast cancer graphs mimic prostate cancer graphs. If Cayenne kills prostate cancer cells then it might do the same for breast cancer ones as well. Report back if you try it.

I have been diagnosed with cancer of the breast. The cancer is only 6mm and slow growing. We have become familiar with the baking soda cure for cancer. I had breast cancer twelve years ago and went the route of lumpectomy, removing lymph nodes, radiation and Chemo. We do not want to go through these procedures again.

I was listening tonight to Dr. Simoncini who has pioneered the sodium bicarb treatment for cancer. He stated that he does not know where the addition of sugar in any form such as molasses, maple syrup, etc. Came from & it has no scientific basis. From a recent medical review of aspirin and cancer over a 4 to 8 year period in the UK Lancet, it has been found that takng a little aspirin everyday helps to significantly lower the death risk from cancer. Ted from Bangkok, for some while now, has already promoted aspirin use to help against cancers, hepatitis C, certain flu and cold viruses and herpes. So here is the proof.

I agree with Francisca, there are many people who rely on the money that big pharma brings in for any cure of cancer to be brought to the fore.

If you doubt it look at something simple like Apple Cider Vinegar. Day after day people here are curing simple illnesses with it. Yet the Doctors want to prescribe anything but. Why?

Google Essiac Tea and Rene Caisse if you want a wake up call. Watch her videos on youtube. This happened many many years ago and she was hounded to not treat people that she was curing of cancer.

Cancer Victim, I want to add this piece of information to my earlier post as I was answering to someone who answered you and I hadn't seen your post! I think that like a lot of people, probably most people, you only have one part of the story and that is very dangerous! If that is the way you want to live your life and go about curing your illness fine but do get informed before you make your choices! We live in a world where things often are not as they seem to be! Your remark that if food could cure cancer it would be known and widely applied as it is a cheap solution comes for ignorance of how the system works! They don't want cheap solutions, they don't want any cure... The fact that you are ill and a big part of the population is permanently ill makes the rich richer and makes a lot of financial sense! Very odd indeed but that is the way our world works!

If you are interested read a few of the books I suggested and go on Amazon and do a research based on Cancer. I can have a look for your if I have anymore more books that can give you the information you lack! The whole story is as fascinating as scary, believe me! Most probably the cure of almost cure has been around for decades but well, it is not financially interesting and therefore the people who came up with it were persecuted, ignored and vilified. Even Linus Pauling, probably one of the greatest minds all times! I wish I could scream this from the roofs but unfortunately most people are wired to believe the system. I think that chemotherapy and surgery sometimes only make things worse. I say this after having read a few books on the treatment of cancer! I would advise you to read as much as you can. Actually I would advise everybody to do like me and get the information before you or a loved one are ill because afterwards one tends to make decisions very fast and you don't have the time to get informed! Your doctor is not at all the best person to inform you. Maybe this stricks you as odd but they are only allowed to tell you what the system allows them to say. Some good books are:

The you will understand how the establishment works. I am not saying I would never choose chemotherapy or surgery but if I did I would prefer to know my options! I lost my mother to cancer because she didn't have any other options! Good luck!

The mole rat is the only mammal presently known not to get cancer.. This is due to a gene p16.. This gene stops cells going into the prolific growth mode. In fact its almost impossible to grow mole rat cells in the lab. The funny thing is that garlic also slows down cell growth. Cancer victim, I can understand your anger. Cancer is a strong biological process and for the most part trying a few herbs or supplements will most likely be like shooting godzilla with a pea shooter.. But a conscious integrative approach is not to be dismissed as even with chemo and or surgery don't cure the disease but eradicate it enough to give the body a fighting chance. Chemo/surgery is kinda of like calling in an air strike... Excuse my military analogies. And I am certain that in a 100 years or so we will look upon chemo as barbaric, ... It was shelved until others developed it... So it may be one individuals experiment with something known or unkown that may eventually make toxic chemo a therapy of the past...

In some cases right now, chemo and or surgery is the best option but not in all cases... Personally, I would definitely try some alternative strategies first to see if I got a positive response.. if not then I would go for the more toxic & invasive solutions.

I've never read such BS in my life... You speak of foods as if they were medicine and if this were the case then a lot more people would be cured and the local cancer agencies would be promoting this relatively cheap means of combatting cancer. Lets be real, surgery is best, radiation and chemo are next and a health diet will help mitigate the effects of the cancer but will NOT cure it.

As a suggestion not knowing what type of cancer.. I would get some cayenne capsules and take 500mg.. of the hottest variety you can get hold off. The reason being that it sends prostate cancer cells into suicide mode and its starting to look like it does it to other types as well.

I would juice lots of green vegetables.

Take chlorella and spirulina (I have the powdered kind in chlorophyl liquid)

Drink wheatgrass juice or take the powder (the juice contains laetrile which is anti cancer).

You could live on the above for a long time and get all your nutrients while you are detoxing your body.

Read the book "Excitotoxins, the Taste that kills" or watch the following video. Processed foods mostly have MSG in them and even some crops are being sprayed with MSG. MSG will cause cancer to ravage your body if it is in the right circumstances. It was written by a neurosurgeon.

I would stay away from simple carbs for sure. With cancer you definately want to eat alot of leafy greens or anything green really, berries, and citrus type foods. Stay away from breads, potatoes, anything white like flour and rice. Eat wild rice or brown rice if possible. Quinoa is probably another good grain that is healthy and a complex carb. I can't imagine what you are going through right now and I wish you good health and a swift recovery. Make sure you know what you put into your body. Read labels and if at all possible eat only whole foods. No processed ready made meals.

Received an email from afriend concerning my estrogen positive breast cancer was told to take lysine, threonine and n-acetyl cysteine which I have ordered and just received will start tomorrow. Thanks Lisa, I undestand your position on Weil. His advice is mostly backed by clinical trials and epidemiology which is quite sound but leaves out cutting edge science like in the case of Burzynski and many others for whom testing is out of reach. That said, he still encourages mind body medicine which is difficult to measure. So Carly, he has come down from my pedestal a couple notches and Burzynski has gained a few...:)

Yes, good for you Rob for being willing to keep an open mind. Personally, I stopped reading Dr. Weil quite awhile back because I found that he tended to sit on the fence on a lot of issues not wanting to rock his very big following in the "mainstream" audience. I prefer Dr. Mercola who will go right to the point and also Deepak Chopra. Dr. Mark Hyman is another who really goes to the heart of the matter on major issues that seem to plague many but there appears to be no answers for them by the medical field other than drugs to cover them up. Still, I understand that Dr. Weil serves a purpose- those deeply steeped in the mainstream medical world will listen to what he has to say thereby, allowing another point of view for them to consider.

If the numbers are correct and this seems to be the case Dr's should be advising their patients that his therapy is their best hope for these particular cancers... Especially if they are non toxic.. thus I apologize for my skeptecism...

Still there is concern for those that have lost both their life and life savings and whether they have been taken advantage of in a desperate time. Compelling, yes, but made by a long time advertising director who knows how to make his emotional point, & as a documentary it is incomplete... You say you have watched "a good part" of the Burzynski movie. Until you have watched the enire movie, there is no way you can have all of the information necessary to comment in an informed manner. (As your post shows to be true).

If I am reading what you are saying correctly, you are saying that if you had a child with a glioma brain cancer you would tell that child - sorry, your life is not worth 60k?

I would take a chance at the 25% Burzynski protocol offers over the 1% that the FDA meds give in a heartbeat. No hesitation.

Yes, I agree - a 25% CURE rate - 5 years cancer free - does mean that 75% would either be still alive with cancer or dead. This is simple math. Just as a 1% cure rate means that 99% would either still be alive with cancer or dead. It is silly to suggest that the Burzynski movie talk to dead people. They make no bones on what their numbers are at his clinic. His numbers are FAR superior to the standard protocol of chemo and radiations. You can't dispute the numbers.

Also - if the clinical trials for Dr. Burzynski were not sabotaged by the NCI perhaps by this time his protocols WOULD be standard practice and WOULD be covered by insurance.

The doctor HAS to charge for the medicine he is manufacturing. He is not running a free clinic - he would not be able to help anyone if he couldn't produce the medicine. You keep attempting to make it sound like he is a scam artist out to bilk people out of their money. This is simply incorrect.

I do, and will continue to put Doctor Burzynski up on a pedestal - a very, very high one. He is an amazing, brilliant scientist, who at great peril to his own well being continued to help people even when being mercelissly prosicuted by our government. That man is a saint in my opinion.

so getting back to the Burzynski movie... I've watched a good part and don't dispute what is shown but question it on what isn't shown.... Why don't they interview the 73% whom it didn't work for... But how could they because they're dead.. With around 30 to $60, 000 less to pass on to their loved ones.... The video is not objective but a slanted infomercial... Thus, I wouldn't put Burzy on a pedestal with the cure for cancer, however that said, I wouldn't rule him out, especially if I or someone has a terminal cancer for which his success rate might prove more successful than conventional approach... Well said, Carly! But you know, it is events like Dr. Burzinsky went through that make the distinction between the great on earth and the worthless! And like you I also believe that either in this life or in the other one the people who do wrong will get their pay! Too bad that so many innocent people have to pay with their lives, so many children grow up without parents, so many people have to go through the pain of losing one or more loved ones, so many people have to go through the scare of being diagnosed with an illness like cancer!

Anyway, as far as revising opinions, I believe that even Linus Pauling would have revised a few if he had lived a few more years! We have a certain opinion at a certain time which doesn't mean that we would have evolved in a very different way later on! To me, even a therapy which only cures a few percent of the people and maybe gives a better life to quite a few is worth trying because any lives saved with good quality of life are worth it, especially if it is a therapy with little or no side effects and there is nothing else available! The problem is that many of this therapies were never developed any further for lack of support and founds. Who knows where they would be right now if intead of having to fight heavy opposition the people concerned had got all the support they deserved? Think about that!

Thanks Cindy, I had missed this video. I think that by now it is clear that we are being made sick and then treated at a huge profit, actually both are done at big profits! One thing I can tell you, it is true that there are things which are forbidden here in Europe but then we get much of the rubbish all the same as it comes disguised in drinks, processed in foods so we have no control of it anyway!

Don't think for a moment that these problems only affect people in the US, we are almost as sick! Sad world we live in..... I spend my life trying to avoid the worst culprits, reading lables but I have to say that this is almost impossible. Buying bio is often a waste of money because you pay more for the same or worse stuff, I try to buy better meat, pay more but is it better... God knows. And lables are often hard to understand because when they feel that a lot of people are changing their habits in order to avoid something they change the names or if they can avoid it they don't include the stuff you are trying to avoid on the lable!

But think about one thing.... The people who do all this are people who were voted in by a majority! Maybe time people stop and think instead of just chearing anyone and voting in an irresponsible way because they are not only affecting their lives but the lives of everybody!

Re the childhood glioma - If the cancer is gone for 5 years, I do believe that is in fact considered a "cure" rate.

Children who develop this particularily nasty type of cancer and receive the standard treatment are usually dead within 24 months as I understand it. ~Unless~ they are that lucky 1% and get to spend the rest of their lives deaf, with burned off ears and hair that will never gow back along stunted growth. Mind you, that wouldn't probably feel very lucky, and their quality of life would suck, but hey - they made the one percent!

I know that if it were my child, I would jump at the chance of a 27% cure rate with Dr. Burzynski over the standard protocol of chemo which disfigures, deafens, and basically tortures a child with this dreaded and deadly cancer for a 1% (actually I believe it was a little less than one percent, but why split hairs) success rate.

Chemo and radiation are therapies honed and developed back in the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's.... And they ARE barbaric in my opinion. By this time, there SHOULD have been something better to offer.

They make LOTS of $$$$$$$ though.

Carly thanks for the information... So, with this particular type of brain cancer, Childhood Glioma, with a 1% conventional success rate... Burzynski might be worth a look into with his claimed.. 27%... (27% is not a cure, it is a success rate). Francisca... A little dissent is not complete dissent, I am getting the impression you would like to burn me at the stake and claim your curing my toe fungus... I respect Weil, not everything he says is written in stone, he is somewhat conservative in the alternative field and needs to be with such a following, and admits to error and often revises what he says in the face of new information. That quote he made back in 2006 perhaps he might revise it with new information. In the future we will most likely look back at chemo as barbaric though it has helped many and many it has failed..

I agree ~ Dr. Pauling was a brilliant, brilliant man, and he was persecuted relentlessly as well.

The big pharma companies have too vested of an interest in keeping their patented cancer "therapies" (ha! ) up and running. If (God forbid! ) someone actually came up with anything resembling a cure - well, they would lose BILLIONS per year. Oh there is no humanity. These people will (I hope) have some price to pay, be it Karma, Hell, or whatever Diety is out there that makes the world go round.

It takes a special type of person to keep on perservering when all is against them for so many years. Dr. Burzynski went through so much. It is amazing he made it to the other side without having a stroke or a heart attack from the stress he was placed under for so very long. Talk about mental duress!

Dr. Burzynski and all the others, there have been great people totally committed towards helping all those who suffer with cancer but as you said..... Governments (not only yours, unfortunately, don't forget that the world is globalized... ) don't want the cure to be found, just as they don't want us to know that what they preach will only make us sicker and sicker. That is the way things are! It all makes me furious as well and I weep for those who have died and who suffer from cancer as I weep for their loved ones! I lost two of my grandparents and my mother to cancer as well as my mother-in-law and I saw my sister-in-law suffer from it (luckily that was many years ago and although she had two different kinds she is ok). When will things change?

Rob, this is the kind of article that makes me very angry! The talk about research, scientifically proved, etc, etc is just government propaganda and I have had enough of that, thank you! Please read the book "The Cancer Industry". There you will find a chapter about Dr. Burzynski but also chapters about all kinds of banned and discredited methods and the reasons why. Dr. Ralph Moss, the author, explains in a very clear manner how the Cancer Industry works and how easily they discredit anyone who could possibly have a method if not to cure at least to help cancer patients. After all don't forget that even Linus Pauling, one of the biggest scientists all times was discredit! Some of the people who made big discoveries which could have greatly advanced the fight against cancer died in asylums after losing their minds, others died of heart attacks. Why? According to the movie - Doctor Burzynski has a cure rate of about 25% on INCURABLE brain cancers. Traditional treatment cure rate is about 1%.

He is not saying he can cure ALL cancer. His treatment has no side effects... where as chemo and radiation have massive and horrid side effects. I see no harm in allowing people to make their own choices on the treatment they would prefer.

It is shocking that in this country the government spent 60 MILLION of our taxpayer dollars trying to shut this wonderful, and NOBLE man down. It makes my skin crawl.

The fact that they could not find any of Burzynski's patients that would file any complaints agains him speaks to his character and his practise. On the contrary - his patients showed up to support him at grand jury after grand jury - from all parts of the country, as they owed their lives to his treatment.

In my opinion ~ The FDA and the NCI should be criminally prosecuted for their actions.... what they did was and still is undeniably CRIMINAL.

Please, watch the movie (if you haven't yet - which I am assuming you have not by your statements) before you say more on the matter of Burzynski.

Just imagine how far research on a cure for ALL CANCERS could have been by now if the FDA had not spent so much time (and money) trying to shut down Dr. Burzynski, and if they had embraced and supported him instead.

I can come to only one conclusion - Our government does NOT want to find a cure for cancer. There is too much money in NOT finding a cure. (MO)

I put forward Andrew Weil's view on Burzynski to caution those with the belief that he has a cure.. Yes has helped some it seems but those are the voices that we are hearing... There are many... (just like chemo), that he hasn't helped, though charged a bundle! , try to look at the information objectively...

I just watched the movie. I cried when the mother and little boy came on.. Any parent would. I sent the video to all on my email contact list and put it on my twitter account.

I just watched the Burzynski movie yesterday. I was going to post it here as well. I was very very impressed by this movie. I think everybody should watch it. People will better understand the politics happening in the world of farmaceuticals. It could also be of help to those who suffer from cancer.

One thing that wasn't too clear for me was how he could get a PhD degree in 1 year, straight out of medical school. That sounds a bit fishy to me.

I haven't had the time to watch the movies yet but I read a book a while ago which was awfully interesting, called The Cancer Industry and which I think that I reviews on the book review page. It really puts things into a different prespective! It is an account of the many therapies that have been banned, including the use of Vit. C researched by twice Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling and how the cancer industry works. One can't help getting tears in one's eyes while reading that book while thinking about the suffering of loved ones (who hasn't lost someone to cancer! ) and the struggle of all those who wanted to contribute to diminish that suffering but instead ended up being persecuted in the name of money and big business! I often wonder how on earth things ever got to be this way, I really do! Only in a very evil planet.... Sorry! Or a planet with very evil people!

Researchers at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada have cured cancer last week, yet there is a little ripple in the news or in TV. It is a simple technique using very basic drug. The method employs dichloroacetate, which is currently used to treat metabolic disorders. So, there is no concern of side effects or about their long term effects. This drug doesn't require a patent, so anyone can employ it widely and cheaply compared to the costly cancer drugs produced by major pharmaceutical companies. Canadian scientists tested this dichloroacetate (DCA) on human's cells; it killed lung, breast and brain cancer cells and left the healthy cells alone. It was tested on Rats inflicted with severe tumors; their cells shrank when they were fed with water supplemented with DCA. The drug is widely available and the technique is easy to use, why the major drug companies are not involved? Or the Media interested in this find? In human bodies there is a natural cancer fighting human cell, the mitochondria, but they need to be triggered to be effective. Scientists used to think that these mitochondria cells were damaged and thus ineffective against cancer. So they used to focus on glycolysis, which is less effective in curing cancer and more wasteful. The drug manufacturers focused on this glycolysis method to fight cancer. This DCA on the other hand doesn't rely on glycolysis instead on mitochondria; it triggers the mitochondria which in turn fights the cancer cells. The side effect of this is it also reactivates a process called apoptosis. You see, mitochondria contain an all-too-important self-destruct button that can't be pressed in cancer cells. Without it, tumors grow larger as cells refuse to be extinguished. Fully functioning mitochondria, thanks to DCA, can once again die. With glycolysis turned off, the body produces less lactic acid, so the bad tissue around cancer cells doesn't break down and seed new tumors.

Pharmaceutical companies are not investing in this research because DCA method cannot be patented, without a patent they can't make money, like they are doing now with their AIDS Patent. Since the pharmaceutical companies won't develop this, the article says other independent laboratories should start producing this drug and do more research to confirm all the above findings and produce drugs. All the groundwork can be done in collaboration with the Universities, who will be glad to assist in such research and can develop an effective drug for curing cancer. My sister just died from pancreatic cancer on the 25/4/11. Don't do chemo. Get onto intravenus vitamin C. It kills all P.C. Cells in a test tube once its get to 350 parts in the blood. Look at the Riodan clinc for more info.

I also know that my wife met a lady whos mother cured her P.C. with the Gerson therapy. 6 years after diagonsis.
