By gosh, it works! It lowered my 181/129 blood pressure 64 points! If I cut down from the 3 times daily, it starts to go back up. Also, about 6 months ago I developed an acid reflux problem, which the vinegar (I use _______'s) took away that first night. All is well as long as I continue on ACV. I hope it works for you, too.

I have read where baking soda will increase BP, as it is a salt. You are not having that problem?

My blood pressure was 199/100 when someone suggested I take ACV mixed in a large amount of water, thru a straw 3xs per day, which I did. Within a month, every one of my crowns fell off. Never had the problem before or since : ( Now I take over the counter meds (not happy about it) now as I am afraid of what else might happen. Very expensive lesson.

I have been drinking 2tbsp ACV/3x per day for 9 days now. Notice some change in my evening BP but my morning reads are scary. This morning it was 156/102 (upon wakening) in the evenings (after 6) I'm averaging 135/85. I know that BP upon wakening is usually the highest (most heart attacks happen in the mornings probably linked to this fact). I really don't want to go on meds. Note: I've been using honey, maple syrup or splenda brown sugar to sweeten the mix.

Any suggestions as to why I'm not seeing results? Does it take some time (i.e. 2 or more weeks) in some cases? Discouraged when I read some people seeing immediate results. Has anyone else experienced a longer response time? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Hello Phoenix, I've been using the organic ACV with mother for the last week now. Prior to that I was using store brand pure apple cider vinegar, and not distilled pure vinegar. My first 2 gout treatments were 2tbsp store brand acv, 1 tbsp honey and 1 cup warm water. Then I moved on to canned vegetable cocktail (I referred to this as tomato juice) 8oz with 2 tbsp heinz acv. I used this combination for approx 4 treatments. Feeling much better and with improved mobility, I went out on Jan 2 and purchased organic acv with mother. At this point I moved onto approx 1/2 shot glass (2 tbsp) acv with 2 oz apple juice chaser and have continued this treatment 2-3 times daily for maintaining my newly lower BP. I am approx 40 lbs overweight with most of the weight around my belly. I find the acv helps with my digestion and curbs my appetite. I'm excited about this new discovery and all the side benefits. I don't have sweet cravings, I've just been a little undisciplined about serving sizes and the weight has slowly built up over the last 10-15 years. My wife is a gourmet cook and she's vowed to cut back on the salt in preparing our meals and I've vowed to reduce my portions and eliminate fast food, soda and prepared desserts.

Thanks for the encouragement.
Barry

I have recently started drinking the organic apple cider vinegar w/mother and have started to see results within a few weeks (numbers changing from 140/104 to 134/97) better, but not as good as others have seen (I am a vegetarian who eats pretty healthy and exercise regularly). My question is as to whether or not the ACV supplements works as well as the liquid, as I really do not enjoy the taste of the ACV, even with organic honey and juices for flavor. Is one better than the other or would a combination be best (alternating between the liquid and the supplements)?

Hi Everyone,

I am 24 and was diagnosed with high blood pressure about a year ago. I haven't changed my diet but I did try meditation and breathing techniques which helped a little. My blood pressure was generally 135-155/90-70 with readings averaging to 145/85. I just drank 2 Tbs. of organic apple cider vinegar with 5% acidity straight. When I woke up this morning my blood pressure was 140/80, but 40 minutes after drinking the vinegar it was 116/70. I will have to check into the effects of ingesting so much acid if I am to do this regularly. I will also start diluting the vinegar so that it doesn't wear away at tooth enamel.

I read your comments this morning and decided to try ACV out. I have had HBP since my mid teens. Been on medications for 15 years now. My last medication wasn't working. I have been averaging 155/108. I took ACV today all three times and checked it this evening, 120/82. I am amazed! Talk about impressive results! Thank you all for your helpful posts!

Seeing so many positive response for ACV dealing with high blood pressure, I am telling my husband that he should really give it a try. We do have a question regarding when to take the 2T of ACV, 3x/day, is it before or after meal? Or does it matters at all? Can anyone doing the ACV kindly reply. Thanks!

In response to Grace from Vancouver. On a routine basis you would use 2 teaspoons full up to 3 times a day. The 2 tablespoons would come in say if you were sick with the flu or trying to fight off something. As with any detox start out with low amounts and work up from there. Some people report taking it before a meal to aid in digestion/weight loss. I have read many times it is recommended in a 8oz glass of water that you sip through a straw throughout the day. I usually take 2 teaspoons in water and the last few days have started adding BSM in warm water with ACV once in the morning. Three weeks and I am starting to feel like a new woman! I have also had success with regular store brand ACV. Hope this helps.

I'm 39 a smoker and recently discovered that my blood pressure was 166/105. I had taken a reading a couple months ago and it was 143/95. I started taking ACV with Mother in it just last Thursday. By Saturday I was getting readings back around 140/90. By Monday I had readings of 125/83 and 130/84. I was taking it at different times throughout the day with a cuff a friend loaned me. I'm really glad I found this site as I was able to pass a physical I had to take in order to renew my license. I'm of course continuing to take ACV at 2 tbs 3x a day. I'm not exactly sure why it works but have heard that ACV was good for detoxifying your body anyway so I figure it can't hurt.

Hi Ron. Have just read your request for more info regarding the ACV dose. You say you have been taking 1oz per day! 1oz=2 tablespoons. The recommended dose to start with is 2 tablespoons in an 8oz glass of water with a teaspoonful of honey to make it more palatable 3 times per day. This is what I took to get my BP down and then on to the maintenance dose of 2 teaspoonsful in 8oz water 3 times a day. It worked form my BP is now around 120/79. Hope this helps. Noels

ACV and HBP: I have been dizzy for two days and not sure why. I took ACV and got temporary relief. I went to the Urgent Care due to no hospitalization and had BP taken 138/80. Nurse said it was normal, only my lower number has never been higher than 70. In the morning I drank some ACV in water and felt OK then went about my day. Around 4:30 p.m. Dizziness got worse and I almost passed out. Just barely made it home driving about 4 miles. After lying down for about an hour I took more vinegar and now I feel better. I guess it works. I will continue until I see my Natural medicine professional. Thank you for the confirmation. Any comments are welcome.

The main reason people get relief from Apple Cider Vinegar because it has Potassium in it. Potassium is what regulates our blood pressure. You may be only getting temporary relief because you need more potassium. Low Potassium can cause your dizziness, with alot of other symptoms that you need to look into. Google Low Potassium Symptoms and see if this is what your experiencing. I have been dealing with the dizziness as you for a year & I found out by going into hospital it was Low Potassium, I was drinking too much water & too much salt and in return it was lowering my potassium alot. I had bad dizzy spells. But once I eat the foods that have Potassium in it and lowered my salt somewhat I am fine now. So goodluck & take in more Potassium..

It may not have been your blood pressure, ACV will lower blood sugar too, I had that problem at first, dizzy and weak after taking it, checked my blood sugar it was 67 so I ate something when I took it from then on, so check to see if it is lowering your blood sugar too much..

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I am 46 yrs old. 2 months ago my doctor prescribed 20 mg of lisinopril for my high blood pressure (140/102 or there abouts) and increased zoloft to 150 mg/day. After my 30 day follow-up my blood pressure was 140/84. I told the dr. that I had been experiencing coughing mainly at night. She said it might be allergies and to continue with what I had been doing. Well, since that check-up coughing has gotten more consistent rather than only at night I also cough during the day and have been feeling very tired and have had tingling in my hands (not shooting up the arm, thankfully). Last week I started taking apple cidar vinegar and my bp dropped dramatically. So, this week I stopped taking the lisinopril. The tingling has gone away and the tiredness going away as well. My problem is that today my bp was 149/102 and pulse 85. I've been taking 1 TBS ACV in 8 oz. of water (2TBS made me sick to my stomach.) Are the above common side effects of lisinopril and how many TBS spoons of ACV is approrpriate per day? I assume it would be okay to spread the ACV out over the course of the day?

High Blood Presure Cure: Wow I have been going nuts in the past couple of weeks, feeling light headed even strong headache and vomiting after heavy rowing/racing on saturdays. I dont like to go to doctors and i have been resisting the pill my pressure was 178/118 this morning and has been as high as 190/126. This week I have been taking garlic tablets with some improvement but not enough. After drinking ogranic apple cider vinegar, about 1/2 inch on the bottom of a mug and two inches of water the results were as follows. I dropped 10 points in the first 25 minutes. I drank some more and went to do errands. About two hours later and after a ten minute nap I am down to 138/95 my lowest in two years. Wow! I am happy and releived. Thanks-Kemel

2 tsp ACV normalized blood pressue in 30 minutes. Recently began to notice a difference in left and right side blood pressure (left arm normal range 110/70 and right side elevated to 148/68. Onset fairly recent and only at night after dinner. Considered possiblility of high protein intake at evening meal but was unconvinced that was the cause though it may be reducing viscosity of blood and a contibuting factor. A few months ago changed my nutrition plan to improve pH using a significant alkalinizing product. Result appears to be that the increased alkalinity is reducing potassium. Addition of ACV has balance the blood pressure so it is equal on both the left and right arma and in the normal range between 100/70-120/80 Pulse 62 after 2 days of use (2 tsp only in evening. Never occurred to me that improving pH of saliva could result in decreased potassium levels but apparently it has in my situation and ACV restores imbalance and therfore blood pressure normalizes. In response to your question if the ACV will react with other supplements. The answer is no.

I've taken supplements and ACV for a long time and had no problems. Most people end up with acid reflux from a hypo-acidic environment (too little stomach acid).

If the stomach acid were to remain high enough, it would adequately break down the various foods we eat adequately.

Most people over the age of 35 end up having too little stomach acid - so it's not true that doctors say we have too much acid and then put millions of people on anti-acid and PPI meds to block the acid reflux.

I was on those medications and had more problems than I started with. Besides, they actually weaken the bones and elevate the risk of heart attack, stroke and a number of other medical issues.

Wow! I stumbled om this site to find a natural cure for HBP. Mine has usually been 120/70 for years. It has steadily crept up. In July '08 my pressure spiked to 160/96. I was put on medication for 15 days and then was taken off after it returned to normal. I checked my BP 11/20/08 and it was 176/101! I decided to try the ACV recipe of 2 TBS with 8 oz of water 3 times a day. I also kept a bottle of water with me with 2 capfuls of vinegar. Today 11/24/08 I went to the same place to check my BP and it was 127/82! Not bad for only 5 days! I plan to continue with this for the rest of my life. Thanks for all your posts and your help!

I started taking ACV a week ago. 4 dessertspoons of ACV in a glass of water. My BP has come down from 160/90 to 125/73 over the week. I am on Cardizem 360mg a day as well. I hope to reduce this to 180mg in due course. I hear that ACV being acidic can cause teeth enamel problems. So a mouth rinse after taking it may be helpful.

When using your ACV 'cocktail', be sure to use a straw when drinking it.
