Blog Readers

I must say that I am very disappointed in saying "No" to the ACV treatment for high blood pressure. The information was first given to me by my son, who has has seen a dramatic reduction of his HBP with the ACV with mother treatment. I have studied all the N/Yay's blogs on the subject hoping that it can prove to be a success for me.

This is my giving conditions. HBP 140/90; before meds of 10mg amlodipine, 10 mg Bystolic. (note the current meds reduces HBP (130/80))

I started with the regular store bought vinegar which did no show any results. I then consulted with my son and began usint the ACV mother. It appeared that within the first two weeks of use after re-cleansing or detoxing from my meds that I was feeling fine. Thus my confidence level was rising. I continued using the ACV and then bought larger 32fl oz bottle.

I have learned over time experimenting with different meds, and having done two colonoscopies to determine my gastroencyphlytic(esophageal) spasms to modify and manage my food intake. I say this to give background knowledge on the significance of proper diet and my awareness of food intake, which aids any ailments of the body.
Knowing this I was able to regulate my diet very well with the ACV; however when I bought the second 32fl oz with mother I began experiencing headaches, which is also a symptom of rising blood pressure. The headaches had started to increase at higher frequencies and lasting much longer. It was becoming unbearable, I took my BP with my home equipment and my HBP 150/94. I started to panic and was getting anxiety attacks. Luckily my wife always store the whole cranberries in the freezer to boil and make cranberry tea to minimize and relax the anxiety attacks. I immediately started to retake my meds.

It appeared that the headaches were not going away so I had an emergency visit with my family care physician. MY blood pressure was high HBP 152/96.

I got back on my meds and in two months have a follow up visit.

Although the ACV did not work for me I, would suggest that the readers of this blog follow up and monitor their condition should they notice a change.

Secondly I hope my message will encourage new readers that would like to try ACV to take good notes, understand their symptoms of HBP realizing that ACV may not bring the positive results they are searching for.

Sincerely
Dennis

Hi Dennis, I just wanted to comment on your post. You mentioned that at first, the ACV appeared to be helping, but then quickly took a turn for the worse. When you mentioned esophageal reflux and anxiety, I immediately thought Magnesium. In addition to the hypertension, both of these conditions can be directly related to low Mg. levels. Not to mention that your medications also contribute to Mg. wasting.

I'm not suggesting that you ditch your meds, but I would highly recommend that you consider adding Mg. into your daily routine.

With blessings of health & happpiness,
Lyne

Hi! I went to a Whole Foods market yesterday and bought a bottle of ACV with Mothers and WOW! That is a pungent smell, bout knocked me on the ground!!! lol

I took 1 TB straight and chased it with OJ and then water. Boy that stuff is STRONG. I took my BP 2 hours later and was soooo happy, it was 123/75, I was elated! It is usually in the 140/85 range. I eat very healthy and workout every week so I have been so bumfuzzled as to why it stays in the 140 range. Anyway I am so thankful I found this website!!! Thanks!!

Can somebody help me? I have read many posts, blogs, articles about the benefits of apple cider vinegar. I have been taking braggs apple cider vinegar diluted in water, but have stopped because each time I ingest apple cider vinegar (any vinegar, actually), my pulse increases (can literally hear my heart in my ear, if I lie on the left side), I have some sort of digestive problem: difficult swallowing/burning sensation near stomach. My diet has not changed at all.

Are there people (or me) who have some sort of negative reaction to vinegar? Should I take with fatty food/food? (I have gone back and forth with food, same results). I seem to also have this problem with certain foods; cabbage (palpitations/swallowing difficulty-lesser degree), broccoli, caffeine (of course), and a few others.

I have heard Dr. Eric Berg say that if you can hear your heartbeat in your ear, it's from low potassium. The body needs 4700 mg. a day he says.

Just yesterday (1/19/10) I discovered your site. I have been experiencing high blood pressure in recent weeks. I read about the organic apple cider vinegar with mother being able to control HBP. I have some that was in the cabinet for salad dressing use. I took 2 TBSP at about 3 PM and by 4 PM I checked my pressure and it was 123/71!!! I was elated. I checked again after dinner and it was 121/73. I took 2 more TBSP just before bedtime and slept better than I have in months. When I woke I took the BP and it was 119/70!! I'm a true believer and am on the ACV program for good. BP has been in the 120s/70s all day today too. Thank You Earth Clinic for all the valuable info.

Dear Earth Clinic, thank you so much for posting so many positive comments regarding Apple Cider Vinegar! I recently had my first bout with Gout, and ACV scored an impressive knockout! I had been taking a diuretic for high blood pressure and in my initial research I learned that my medication could be contributing to my gout. It was new years eve and I couldn't get out to see my doctor until the following monday (4 days later) I found your website and learned about ACV. I knew we had some as my wife had asked me to purchase some for home made salad dressings. It wasn't organic with "mother" but rather a typical commercial brand "pure" ACV. Beggars can't be choosers and with nothing to lose, I decided to give it a try. I followed the instructions on your website and began to take 2 tbsp with water, tomato juice, etc. Within 12 hours the swelling crested and within 36 hours I was about 80% better. I was completely cured within 5 days. My Doctor confirmed that my medication could contribute to gout and was very impressed with ACV as a remedy. I decided to read up a little more about the benefits of ACV for my high blood pressure. Well, it's been 9 days now and with my doctors blessing, I've weaned myself off my medication. I've purchased an organic brand with the "mother" (available at most specialty grocery and health food stores) and I'm happy to report that my blood pressure is steady in the 122/80 range and is lower now that when I was on the medication (135/88). Thanks again! Like the oldtimers, I've started to take it straight up (with an apple juice chaser) I have more energy and am continuing my daily routine of 1/2 shot glass 2-3 times a day as I attempt to shed 40 lbs over the next 6 months. It's the miracle I've been looking for and I'm telling the world! Cheers!

Hello Phoenix, I've been using the organic ACV with mother for the last week now. Prior to that I was using store brand pure apple cider vinegar, and not distilled pure vinegar. My first 2 gout treatments were 2tbsp store brand acv, 1 tbsp honey and 1 cup warm water. Then I moved on to canned vegetable cocktail (I referred to this as tomato juice) 8oz with 2 tbsp heinz acv. I used this combination for approx 4 treatments. Feeling much better and with improved mobility, I went out on Jan 2 and purchased organic acv with mother. At this point I moved onto approx 1/2 shot glass (2 tbsp) acv with 2 oz apple juice chaser and have continued this treatment 2-3 times daily for maintaining my newly lower BP. I am approx 40 lbs overweight with most of the weight around my belly. I find the acv helps with my digestion and curbs my appetite. I'm excited about this new discovery and all the side benefits. I don't have sweet cravings, I've just been a little undisciplined about serving sizes and the weight has slowly built up over the last 10-15 years. My wife is a gourmet cook and she's vowed to cut back on the salt in preparing our meals and I've vowed to reduce my portions and eliminate fast food, soda and prepared desserts.

Thanks for the encouragement.
Barry

From what I have read, some of the bp meds have beta blockers in it, meaning it blocks calcium. Calcium blocks magnesium. The Apple Cider Vinegar works with magnesium in your body, and doesn't work so good without the magnesium. Also I read something about the need for potassium in your body, and if you don't have it or it's low, your bp starts to go up. So for the people who the Apple Cider Vinegar did work but not anymore or never worked, I would say look into your amounts of magnesium and your amounts of potassium your body is getting. Cut out salty foods and get your cholesterol checked as it can also be a contributing factor. My hubbys bp was 187/126 then I started my research. It's been a day with bp meds. acv, magnesium, and bananas. It is down to 146/104. Love my hubby and I want him around for a long time. Hope this helps others.

I had been borderline high B.P. (145/85)for a number of years. Recently my B.P. really shot up (170/95) -could be because I haven't been feeling well for the last few weeks. Based on what I read on this website, 10 days ago, I started taking 2tbs of ACV 3 times a day. I've been taking organic, unpasteurized, naturally filtered ACV (it doesn't say "with mother" on the bottle but its got that cloudy look with the stuff floating in it). I've been taking it with 8oz of lemonade because I can't stand the taste.(Is it OK to mix ACV with lemonade?) Unfortunately, I haven't seen any improvement. I was wondering if I should give up or give it more time. Other people seem to get immediate results. I was also wondering if it's ok to take it with lemonade. Lastly, I want to know if it makes a difference if you take the ACV after you eat or is it better to take b4 a meal/on an empty stomach. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you continue with the acv? Has your bp come down and how did you do it? I'm desperate for a way to reduce my bp naturally. Have been taking 2tbsp 3x/day for one week now with no result. Does it take time in some cases?

I have recently started drinking the organic apple cider vinegar w/mother and have started to see results within a few weeks (numbers changing from 140/104 to 134/97) better, but not as good as others have seen (I am a vegetarian who eats pretty healthy and exercise regularly). My question is as to whether or not the ACV supplements works as well as the liquid, as I really do not enjoy the taste of the ACV, even with organic honey and juices for flavor. Is one better than the other or would a combination be best (alternating between the liquid and the supplements)?

Hi Everyone,

I am 24 and was diagnosed with high blood pressure about a year ago. I haven't changed my diet but I did try meditation and breathing techniques which helped a little. My blood pressure was generally 135-155/90-70 with readings averaging to 145/85. I just drank 2 Tbs. of organic apple cider vinegar with 5% acidity straight. When I woke up this morning my blood pressure was 140/80, but 40 minutes after drinking the vinegar it was 116/70. I will have to check into the effects of ingesting so much acid if I am to do this regularly. I will also start diluting the vinegar so that it doesn't wear away at tooth enamel.

I read everyone's feedback on how ACV lowered their blood pressure and was so impressed I went out and bought 2 bottles. Took 2 tsp 3 times a day for 3 weeks and it did absolutely nothing to lower my blood pressure. My pressure is still approximately 150/95. I am so disappointed. I truely thought after reading everyone's comments that I finally found a natural remedy that would work. I would love to hear from others that also experinced the same as me and if there are any other natural remedies. Was it perhaps something I did wrong? Should I have given ACV more time to work?

The reason it didn't work is probably easily explainable. Did you buy Heinz "Distilled" Apple Cider Vinegar? If so, you bought the wrong product. The key to ACV working is a raw, undistilled product which contains a "mother". That is, a slurry of weird looking goo in the bottom of the bottle. It is a collection of long chain amino acids and other stuff which has all the healing effect. Think of it as bio-drugs.

You can't take apple cider vinegar and expect it to do miracles. Stop eating all that high sodium foods, then take your ACV, and you will see a difference. You want something that will allow you to "pig out" on all foods, and lower your blood pressure, all at the same time, ACV is not for that.

I read your comments this morning and decided to try ACV out. I have had HBP since my mid teens. Been on medications for 15 years now. My last medication wasn't working. I have been averaging 155/108. I took ACV today all three times and checked it this evening, 120/82. I am amazed! Talk about impressive results! Thank you all for your helpful posts!

Seeing so many positive response for ACV dealing with high blood pressure, I am telling my husband that he should really give it a try. We do have a question regarding when to take the 2T of ACV, 3x/day, is it before or after meal? Or does it matters at all? Can anyone doing the ACV kindly reply. Thanks!

In response to Grace from Vancouver. On a routine basis you would use 2 teaspoons full up to 3 times a day. The 2 tablespoons would come in say if you were sick with the flu or trying to fight off something. As with any detox start out with low amounts and work up from there. Some people report taking it before a meal to aid in digestion/weight loss. I have read many times it is recommended in a 8oz glass of water that you sip through a straw throughout the day. I usually take 2 teaspoons in water and the last few days have started adding BSM in warm water with ACV once in the morning. Three weeks and I am starting to feel like a new woman! I have also had success with regular store brand ACV. Hope this helps.

My blood pressure had gotten to be in the high 140/100 ...give or take a few fluctating points daily. I read your site because I didnt want to be put on medication. I wanted to try an alternative route to lower my blood pressure. I tried apple cider vinegar (regular type from grocery) and no change. I purchased a natural acv with the mother and my blood pressure was lower within days of using this. I drink 2tsp in a glass of water about 3x per day. It has also curbed my appetite for sweets and other junk foods. I have lost about 20 pounds in less than 3 months doing this. I have told everyone about the apple cider vinegar and encourage you to try it if you have high blood pressure. It tastes bad the first time or two but after you get used to the taste i actually like it.

I started taking an 8oz cup of hot water with 1 tbs of acv before breakfast for three days and my blood pressure went down from 138/89 to 111/66, that is amazing, I have been taking medicine for the last 8 years and never experienced any thing like that, except with my green juice that I drink every day; consisting of spinach, celery, cucumber and banana. I started drinking this because I heard it was good to lose weight but I never though it was good for high blood pressure. I just happened to be inquiring about the benefits of ACV when I found you site and I think is fantastic. Thanks very much for all the information. Sincerely, Lourdes

I'm 39 a smoker and recently discovered that my blood pressure was 166/105. I had taken a reading a couple months ago and it was 143/95. I started taking ACV with Mother in it just last Thursday. By Saturday I was getting readings back around 140/90. By Monday I had readings of 125/83 and 130/84. I was taking it at different times throughout the day with a cuff a friend loaned me. I'm really glad I found this site as I was able to pass a physical I had to take in order to renew my license. I'm of course continuing to take ACV at 2 tbs 3x a day. I'm not exactly sure why it works but have heard that ACV was good for detoxifying your body anyway so I figure it can't hurt.

Good Morning, I posted awhile back about ACV and the awesome tutoring school year I had with elementary kids and NO COLDS, RUNNY NOSE, SORE THROAT, COUGH for me! Well now I must spread the word about what it has done to my blood pressure. Had a mandatory limited physical last week and I gritted my teeth as the cuff went around my arm but lo and behold my BP was down 20 points!! I told the doc I was on ACV for over a year and and she said she had heard about it's benefits and even read a book about it. So.....wow....needless to say I am a very happy camper!
