I have been suffering from acid reflux/heart burn on and off for 4 years. I have taken prilosec and ant acids as if they were candy, the pain would go away for a short time but always came back. I actually seemed to be getting worse over time as a result of all the over the counter meds. I bought Natural Cures by Kevin Trudeau for my father in law. We decided to look up acid reflux to my suprise the cure was Apple Cider vinegar. I have taken 16oz over the last 10 days....what a great taste, however my pain is virtually gone and I have been eating all the food I love to eat.Try it it really works.

I wrote a note yesterday regarding my acid reflux and the desperate point that I've come to because the meds I'm taking (third one now) are not helping. I immediately went and drank the ACV and water only (no baking soda) and I couldn't believe for the first time in weeks, I didn't have that constant burning feeling in my throat. This morning I work up and read more on the site and now I want to try the baking soda also.

What an amazing site! I love all the great infomation, and tips and knowing I am not the only one with my problem. I have tried the acv remedy for my LPR and my muscus in my throat is gone, swallowing easier and no more coughing. Is my bad breath(halitosis) related somehow to my LPR? If so, what could I do for the condition.

I was having problems with acid reflux, migraines, and yeast infections. For over a year now I have been taking 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar right before bed and I have not had problems since. The doctor was going to put me on medicine for my acid reflux, and since I started taking the acv, the medication is not needed.

ACV, is great, no more acid reflux and bloating. I take a sip of it in the morning and clears all mucus. I haven't lost weight yet on it but hope to try 1/2 cup with water and honey.

Hooray for EarthClinic! I had a runny nose, dry, hacking cough, clearing my throat continually which caused me to lose my voice. Finally diagnosed as acid reflux and given many nose sprays and pills which helped. Did not want to be on meds so when I found your site I was thrilled. YES !!! ACV works. Just a tbsp in 1/2 glass of water before breakfast. If mucous reappears, I take 3 tmes a day before meals. No pills, no cough, no runny nose. Thank God for you and the people's voice on the Internet. P.S. Don't understand why one would take baking soda with ACV. Seems as if that would cancel out the goodness.??

I don't usually write anything back but after taking the apple cider vinegar I felt I had to. I have had very very very bad acid reflux that has gotten worse over the yrs. to the point that it seems any food as soon as it is in my mouth I start with the burning burning burning. Belching....my husband says I do this all night long. I could not sleep flat any longer for I would just throw up in the middle of the night. Not to mention I have not had much sleep for I could NOT eat 4-5 hrs before going to bed! I had trouble swollowing, and have a constant cough, that I have been told could be cancer of the asophegus? When I heard that... I started taking the acv, that very night I slept "normal" and the next morning I had a good bm (which is another problem) Within a few days all my symptoms were gone and it has cured several other ailments as well not to mention loosing weight! I hate the stuff (taste) but you can't ignore the miracle it is. I just think more people should be talking about this simple remedy for sooo many things, what else could it do? I think the list goes on and on. ps. My ph level used to say "consult a physician" to now being normal. I have more energy too!

ACV worked form me. I provides instant relief from heartburn. I had reflux for over a year. I had an endoscopy done a year and a half ago revealing a scared esophogus. I was put on the purple pill for 3 months. When I cam of the pill, wow what rebound. Eventually I read about ACV and tried it. IT DID WORK! Why are there not clinical trial being done on this? There is enough anecdotal evidence this works. I think the reason there are no clinical trials being done is that they are expensive and no one will make any money if ACV if scientifically proven to work.

I have been on the "purple pill" for the last 11 years. Until 3 months ago when I read about ACV on this website. I bought the Apple Cider Vinegar and have been off the purple pill ever since. I started taking it 3x/day and am now down to a convient two. The cost is nill compared to my previous route and I am sure my digestive system is thanking me. I take it with water and use a straw as this is easier on the teeth. NO REFLUX!!!!

Hi, My father-in-law has been suffering from serious stomach problems for as long as I can remember. He took prescriptions that were very strong and costly. He just didn't think their was anything left to try. I suggested he try apple cider vinegar capsules according to directions on the container. A while later he is raving about how well he feels and how all of his prescriptions for various health problems are put aside. I urge people with stomach, intestinal and high blood pressure problems to try acv, they won't regret it. God bless.

I had two (2)strokes within the pass seven years. I use to take herbs but life happens and I forgot. when I start taking ACV my blood pressure has been averaging 190/185.after I started taking ACV, within three week my blood pressure has been 110/64 for the pass three months. this is without me taking all the meds the doctor had given me. I have two blood pressure kit that I use constanly, so I won't have any surprises.

I also had acid reflux , and it was so bad that I couldn't sleep no more than three or more hours at night , setting up.

Thank God for ACV. The meds that I was give, stop acid from being produce in my stomach, which kept the food from digesting which caused constipation. I took ACV. and slept like a log and have been taking it for the past few months. WHAT I TOOK MAY BE MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU BECAUSE EVERYBODY BODY IS DIFFERENT, YOU HAVE TO SEE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU, AND THEN YOU'LL HAVE THE GOOD RESULTS. IT TRULY IS THE BEST THING YET!

Was tired of dealing with reflux so I tried taking ACV. Did a follow up meeting with my gastroenterologist suggesting ACV as an alternative to Prevacid. He was skeptical but told me to go ahead, but to keep some case notes. They are as follows:

March 15, 2007 Learned of ACV via friend and decided to cease Prevacid solutabs beginning Friday March 16th. Until further notes indicate otherwise, no additional Prevacid tabs were taken.

March 16, 2007 Began taking undiluted ACV at a rate of about 1/8th of a Dixie cup 3x/day. Noted acidic sensation but experienced no severe side effects. These sensations were only very very slightly uncomfortable, and lasted about 10 minutes at which time all discomfort relative GRD totally subsided.

At around the third day, I researched ACV on the Internet (Goggled apple cider vinegar to treat reflux disease) and found suggestions that undiluted ACV "might" create esophageal issues by raising the acid levels in the "tender" esophagus. So, I began cutting back on the ACV dosage and at the same time, began diluting the ACV at about 1/8 Dixie cup of ACV and the rest water. Due to my "forgetfulness" (and the horrid taste) I found I was missing some of the dosages and by the end of about 1 and ½ weeks, I was taking ACV about every other day.

At about the 2 week mark, I came down with a GI bug and had diarrhea and nausea. For about 3 days, I totally cut the ACV (and still was not taking prevacid or any other RX) and on the 4th day, I was afflicted with significant reflux. No matter how hard I tried, I could not find a comfortable sleeping position and resorted to swigging Malox at a rate of 2x/night for about 2 nights. Throughout the day, I also suffered with reflux and found that swigs of Cows milk worked well.

On the 5th day, the GI bug subsided and I felt well enough to handle the ACV again. Just prior to restarting the ACV dosage, I was dealing with a significant amount of reflux. An interesting side note here is that IMMEDIATELY after taking the diluted dose, the reflux disappeared. I continued the 3x/day of diluted ACV and became TOTALLY reflux symptom free.

Over the next several days, the minute I'd feel some minor tummy rumblings, I'd dose with ACV and would become symptom free. Another side note is that the rumblings would come about 3x/day coinciding with a time "just prior" to my ACV dose. I was also experimenting with the best time to take the ACV. The result was morning noon and night, however the morning dose would give the sensation of too much acid in my belly (What I'd describe as a burning in the tummy) I remedied that with a change in eating habits. I'd usually have only coffee in the morning with a moderate lunch. In order to curb the over acid sensation, I started to have about a half cup of cereal w/ milk chasing it with about ½ cup of cold cows milk. That would IMMEDIATELY eliminate the acidic feeling. Then at lunch, I cut from a moderate amount of food to a lighter portion followed with an afternoon dose of ACV. As well, I began to cut back on the evening meal proportion following that with ACV. The result was shedding a few pounds, a routine dosage program, and finally sleeping throughout the night. Lacking willpower one evening, I ate 5 very very spicy chicken wings and 3 mugs of beer (A previously suicidal move) and did an extra ACV dose prior to bed. The result was, for the first time, NO reflux during the night and no reflux when I awoke.

April 3, 2007 Had a routine follow-up visit with My Doctor and hinted about his feeling and knowledge of ACV as treatment for GRD. He gave a tentative go ahead for my ACV study (He scheduled a 12 month follow-up but requested that I keep him posted of my findings at a 3 and 6 month interval. To this point the TX with ACV has shown significant success in that I've NOT used prescriptions to treat breakthroughs other than the previously stated malox when I had the stomach bug. I've concluded to this point, that I must still provide my system with some assistance in managing the acid, since cessation of all prescription meds and ACV had proven unsuccessful. More notes to follow.
