It eradicated a lot of my mites, currently I am not 100% cured but o can at least sleep at night. I am still going through many treatments to get rid of all of them. Make sure to do research on Moxidectin before you take it though.

Please please please do NOT stay at a hotel if you know you have Scabies! This is how I have caught Scabies TWICE now, from hotels. You are spreading it to others.

If you don't see bites, it is probably the permethrin that leaves you with alot of itching. It is a neurotoxin. You unfortunately will have this for a few months depending on how long you used permethrin. Your skin will heal with time. Use Dove soap or any other gentle non sulfates and moisturize!

Sulfur creme can be made by diluting with any lotion or creme 1:10. One part sulfur to 9 of lotion.

When scabies are worse the next day after treating them. It is a sign you have disturbed their nest and they're fighting back! Think about when you step on a hornet's nest. They attack. Scabies are the same. They want you to stop putting poison on them so they go wild. Don't stop treating. Keep going!

How long to you soak in borax and hydrogen peroxide?

Important when you have scabies to wear latex gloves when showering or bathing so you don't spread scabies all over your body. And especially when wiping after using the bathroom or changing pads during period. Women don't use tampons during this problem at all!! Also, try to wear gloves as long as you can daily assuming it's not summer. Also always wear thick socks with diatomaceous inside them. Turn the sock inside out then grab some diatomaceous earth with inside out sock. Then turn the sock right side in. I used ankle socks. This along with consistent glove wearing kept me from spreading mites in my environment cutting down cleaning and helps to effectively stop the vicious cycle. These two steps also prevented feeling them inside and out. Not to mention keeping diatomaceous earth in my socks helps blood pressure and water retention. I do it to this day.

I also shaved my head bald. I'm not kidding. I'm a woman and I figured I wasn't going out or seeing many people anyway. It helped alot but I know it's not for most people. I also drank diatomaceous earth in water daily. There are miticide foggers also that help especially cause your so exhausted mentally and physically. And dehumidifiers and heat used together with all windows closed for as long as possible (you have to leave the premises of course. Try just hanging outside.) Always keep any furniture a few inches away from walls from now on. Never have any furniture, knick knacks touching walls. I also stopped hanging pictures and other things on walls to prevent hiding places for pests, parasites. From now on lifestyle means less is more!

One last mention is to keep any clothes, shoes, pictures, memorabilia, anything stored or not in immediate use that you would like to keep seal it tight in plastic from now on. This is important as a rule of thumb. It cuts down cleaning and having to throw things out for many types of infestation like mites, bed bugs and roaches. I hope this helps.

Linda, go to Tractor Supply or Rural King, to the animal medicines. There should be ivermectin injectable, pour on or paste. You want the pour on one. The animal supply places have all sorts of things--dmso, povidone iodine, tar-based salves and so on. Stuff the people pharmacies have rejected in favor of modern pharma.

Yes, these mites hate heat .I was thinking to go to a stand up tanning bed? Permethrin. Never works. I've been taking hot baths with clove oil tee tree oil & Lavender essentials oils. I feel better for a while but then I feel them bite me again. I'm so fed up! I'm depressed, my son brought them home a year ago. Went to dermatologist she gave me permitherin and Ivermectin pills. So thankful I found this site. In 2021 this regimen of bleach/water still works. Particularly on page 2. I would add to use veterinarians formula antiparasitic/antisebhorrahic shampoo and lime sulfur dips on the animals. Be very careful and make sure to dilute it, using just a paper towel around the animal's face. It's very toxic to their eyes/nose etc. Also, don't go in the car for 4 days so the mites die off. Take a bath in 2 cups of bleach, 1 cup hydrogen peroxide daily. Spray down with a 4:1 or 5:1 spray of water to bleach, whatever your skin can handle. Then use lotions with essential oils to rehydrate. I also got a prescription of metronidazole which is an antibiotic/antiparasitic. Lots of times Take good probiotics to counteract it wiping out your good bacteria.

I want to Thank this forum for finally getting my home back. My husband and I are completely rid of Scabies because of this forum.. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Here is our story and what we did to finally rid our bodies and home from these relentless critters.

We tried the prescription creams and even took the pills that doctors prescribed and scrubbed my house and washed the linens every day, only to have recurrences every 4-5 days. After 3 failed attempts doing it the doctor's way finally I headed to the internet and found this website. I read all the different posts for what others were using and having success. I guess you can say I gathered a mix of treatments. Here is what we did to finally rid our bodies and home.

1) Wrap the mattress and box springs in plastic

2) Wrap the couch in plastic

3) Steam Clean the Carpets -- We added 1/4 cup Chlorine free bleach, 3 Tblsp Dr Bonners Castile Peppermint soap and Zep Carpet Cleaner to mix with our water. Not only did this actually do a better job on our carpets then the cleaner itself ever did, but our carpets were minty fresh.

4) Take the bed linens off the bed every morning and straight to the washing machine. Add borax with your detergent. Then to the dryer until completely dry, I ran mine for 2 cycles. Spray the plastic on the bed with 50/50 Cholorine free bleach and Water, let air dry.

5) If you have pets, bathe them with the Peppermint soap made into shampoo. Use a nit/flea comb to remove any eggs that they are carrying. No the scabies don't infect them, but they do provide them with rides all over your house.

6) Remove daily clothing in the bathroom and place them directly into a plastic bag to transport clothing and towels to the washing machine.

7)Bathe twice a day, make the water as hot as you can take. Add Tblsp of each -Dr Bonners castile Citrus, Tea Tree and Peppermint oil soaps to the Bath water and soak. Then wash with one of the castile oil soaps which ever one you choose for the day and shower off. Towel dry and spray entire body with a 50/50 mix of the chlorine free bleach and Water. Place towel in the plastic bag with the clothing you were wearing and off to the laundry.

8) vacuum carpets every day.

9) each day spray every room in your house from floor to ceiling (everything- walls, doors, cabinets, floor.. Etc. ) with a 50/50 mix of chlorine free bleach and water.

In 10 days and we were completely free of scabies from our bodies and home. I say 10 days because we were clear of any outbreaks in 5 days, but we kept up the cleaning regiment for another 5 days just to make sure we didn't have another recurrence in the usual 4-5 days when we were following the doctor prescribed methods.

You have to be completely ready to stay with the routine, if you decide that you are tired and don't follow through with the cleaning regiment, I promise you will be sorry. Just plan on starting over as though it is day one all over again. Trust me you can't win the battle if you aren't fighting.

Once again Thank you everyone for posting your remedies, I hope passing along our success story will help someone else. Please pay attention to your body because the chlorine free bleach and soaps are not for everyone and I wouldn't want anyone to have an adverse reaction if you have allergies or sensitive skin to any of the ingredients used, then don't use them, create a mix of your own that works for you.

An Infrared sauna will draw them out of your skin. Use a sticky roller to remove them. There is also a purple powder that turns brown in the tub that pulls all of them out of your skin and you will actually see them when you drain the tub. It works by oxidation. There is a new super scabies that is nearly impossible to get rid of. Thank God I found earthclinic that told me about borax…..gone in a week. A pinch of borax in my drinking water sipped for four days then borax in my bath and also for laundry. I still take it now and then when I get reinfested. Best remedy for pets with the super scabies or fleas as its a natural insecticide. It also balanced my hormones as a side benefit and gave me regular periods at age 50.

Please note... not everyone will see high concentrations of Scabies on their skin after drawing them out of the burrows with the scent of Sheep manure.

1) It depends on how badly your infestation is.

2) I have a condition called Myopia which is nearsightedness that can magnify the tiniest things with my glasses off. I don't know if this is a blessing or a curse as it freaks me out to see Scabies on my skin. I do know that seeing them after scenting them out of the burrow is a good thing toward reaching a cure. You out there with 20/20 vision probably won't see them without a magnifying glass. But this definitely works. Please be careful with how you handle Sheep manure. Gloves on please! Handle the shirt as though you are dealing with feces. Only scent the shirt and do not rub Sheep manure into the fabric.

Store Sheep manure away from the home. Sheep manure is not like cow, pig or chicken manure. It is not as strongly scented as these, but Scabies are drawn to it none-the-less. I have read a lot about the biology of Scabies. I have not read anywhere about how Scabies are attracted to certain scents. Having Myopia has given me an advantage I believe. I have seen them come out with certain strong scents.

If there is someone out there that can develop a scented product to draw these mites out of the burrow then please go to work! This is a horrible disease and we are waiting for help. 300 million new cases per year! I feel this is a far better treatment to try as you are getting Scabies to leave the burrows. Having them outside on the skin is a far better treatment solution than killing them inside the burrow with a topical. Borax Baths and H202 are recommended on this forum and I totally agree with this as you can keep your skin bacteria free. These mites are dirty and can cause a bacterial infection. I believe Borax baths kills Scabies that are on the surface at the time of the bath. Another thing that works to exfoliate the skin and keep it clean is Epsom Salts and Bath Salts. Please exercise caution and use common sense when attempting this and any other treatment. Research everything well before attempting.

Dear friends...I have suffered from a severe case of Scabies for 2 years.

Quite by accident I've come across a fast track cure. Here is my story... I went to the local hardware store and purchased supplies for gardening... seeds, fertilizer, sheep manure etc. The sheep manure stack at the hardware had some busted bags.

I selected the best bag I could find. It was heavy so I held it close to my body and lifted it into my cart. Two hours later I returned home and to my horror found Scabies had come out of my skin and were concentrated all around my chest and stomach area. The scent of the sheep manure had gotten on my shirt from lifting the bag and they are attracted to the scent. I took a lint roller to my skin then went for a borax bath. It is my opinion that this is a fast track method to eradicating them. Open a bag of manure outside...lay a shirt on the bag until you feel the shirt has picked up the scent then put it on for a couple of hours. Lint roller and see how many you collect. Do this outside please as this is manure.

You don't want to shed Scabies in your home either. After lint rolling your skin, head for a bath that kills what remains. Keep doing this until they are all gone.

Hello Coco Loco, This sounds interesting. Are you positive you had mites/scabies and not another skin condition? Were you diagnosed?

Scabies treatment - very very concentrated sea salt bath. I was able to kill scabies mites and their eggs within 2 hours using an extremely concentrated sea salt bath. You can also dissolve a lot of sea salt in a little bit of water and rub it over your entire body. Keep it on for 2 hours. Do not rinse the salt solution off yourself. You can then apply 100% tea tree oil all over your body. Remember to steam iron your bed, sheets and clothes so that you dont reinfect yourself. Remember the salt solution has to be extremely concentrated. It will be enough to completely kill mites and eggs.

I have literally tried EV RY THING!!!! Perm 2, neem, clove, gr seed oil, oral ivermec, topical ivermec, orange, borax n hp, hp, rubbing alc, alc perfume, THE ONLY THING THAT HAS WORKED: OUT OF COMPLETE AND TOTAL DESPERATION: covered myself head to toe in hand sanitizer. Got 1 nights sleep w no creepy crawly. Next day: complete and total desperation>>> dollar store LA totally awesome cleaner with BLEACH. $1. Spray head to toe night rinse in morning. Next day I would use clove and grape seed oil just to MAKE SURE. At night do it again. I'm doing this every night until I don't feel one once of pinching or creepy crawly feeling then I'm prob do it for another few days then every week til nothing. I also vacuumed, washed everything daily, dryer for 90 minutes, covered fabrics w borax. Vacuumed daily. Dispose of contents away from me. Oh and if you're wondering where you're “getting them from” it's your dog.

Your dog needs borax water and hp dip after bath weekly to rid them. Go on YouTube and look up dog borax baths to see followed up with a frontline spot on their neck. ESPECIALLY if your dog is itching m, has dandruff and smells like gross cheese it's definitely them. All of their fabrics need to be washed in bleach and dried 90 minutes daily. The bleach cleaner and the sanitizer are the only 2 things that performed a true “knock down” of these little a$$holes. Ummm and yes you absolutely can see them. I've found 3 3 days in a row crawling on the light on my cell phone. I dumped a drop of clove oil on it and it was dead in seconds. They're the size of a pin head and they are beige. You'll feel less overwhelmed cleaning if you rotate 3 outfits and wash and put away everything else in your house for 2-3 months.

I got ivermectin from my doctor, because of serious eye mites. Ask your doctor for treatment. You must take this twice at least. Kills bugs first go, but then a couple weeks later you need to dose for eggs babies.

There are several threads about getting rid of these types of bugs. You can take a pinch of borax in warm water five days on, then on day off. Neem capsules, not neem liquid which is toxic internally. Di limolene gel capsules. Both of these are anti bugs.

You won't get rid of them if you aren't scrupulous about washing your clothes, and bed linens everyday with borax, detergent and high heat. If you don't you will get reinfected.

I stumbled onto something and got reading the reviews on the not-the-Nile site. It's called Nu-Stock. It's a sulfur cream and has a lot of high reviews for its intended purpose which is for horses - or just animals in general. Mange, cuts, scrapes etc. and, apparently, anything for which you could use it topically. But it also has some reviews for external use on people. I got some but didn't have anything to use it on.

It's pretty messy. Actually, it's VERY messy but you could easily squeeze it all out into a jar and mix it that way. It would be a lot less messy, too. I think it's in a tube so ranchers and horse people can just toss it in their kit/tack bag or glove compartment and such but you could definitely transfer it to another container. You'd want to really flatten it to get it all out so the ratio would be maintained when you're mixing it up. I think those who had trouble with it didn't mix it up and just got the oil that had separated when they tried to get it out of the tube.

This remedy makes sense to me. Turpentine has same smell similar to tea tree oil that also kills mites.

A bath with tea tree oil could work as well.

Eye mites can be killed with the following tea tree, peppermint and lavender essential oil.

A scabies remedy could consist of bubble bath with turpentine and the above essential oils, and borax!

Here in Kentucky, we use turpentine baths to get rid of turkey mites bites (infant star ticks) when we hike in the woods. It makes since that since scabies are a mite, it can be used for them also.

To take a turpentine bath, pour a capful of turpentine about 1 teaspoon into a full tub of warm/hot water. Add bath bubbles to help draw the turpentine into the water because oil and water don't mix well. Humco Pure Gum Spirits is sold here at grocery stores and is made from real pine trees. Not synthetic made crap sold at hardware stores which will burn your skin we found out.

To make a topical salve, mix 1:4 Turpentine to Olive oil. Apply to infected areas.

Some suggestions:

• Infra red sauna if you can get to one
• Neem dry herb capsule internal
• d limolene capsules a type of orange oil
• Neem and Orange oil are used as bug eradicators.

For neem internal take only the dried herb, not the oil. Neem oil is toxic when taken internally.

• Pet MD benzoyl peroxide shampoo this has sulphur and salicylic acid. Add 1/2 neem oil to this. Neem is stinky and bugs hate it. This is to be used as shampoo and body wash.
• You can add peppermint or tea tree essential oil to make it smell better. Both these essential oil are also anti bug.
• Sulphur bar soaps from Amazon. Sulphur is drying be aware and does smell like Sulphur!

Above shampoo works because it goes deep into hair follicles.

I would also make a body spray with hydrogen peroxide and borax and spray your body after bathing. Just keep it around. Look on Earth Clinic for proportion. I believe it's 10 percent hydrogen peroxide, 10 per cent borax to solution.

This is what my friend did and it has cured her when others did not.

1 bottle 3% hydrogen peroxide

Water n borax ( 20 mule brand).

Big container to mix the solution.

Empty the bottle if hydrogen peroxide in the container. Then fill the empty bottle with water 3x . Each time emptying it in the big container ( 1:3 ratio).

Then teaspoon by teaspoon slowly add borax in it. Mix very well. When you notice that the borax is not dissolving anymore ( granules are left in the mixture), stop adding borax.

Use the solution as a soak on affected parts . 15-30 min per day or 3x/week depends on how you can tolerate it. On the second week of doing this, skin is very dry but mites gone.

• Daily Permethrin on itch spots - night and day yes
• Daily Laundromat - 30min and leave sit in heat 15min longer
• Mats that cover Floor all bedding and towel
• Daily Spray - Kleen Green benches steering wheel surfaces and van floor
• Weekly - Clip nails often
• Weekly - Permethrin weekly
• Weekly - Head - ivermectin or Permethrin mixed with 1/2 the quantity of conditioner
• 3 weekly Moxidectin 1/2 dose ? Full (neurotoxin)similar to ivermectin a stronger version

Try this blend borax powder, d - earth, neem powder. Get a powder shaker from Amazon and dust your hair a scalp. put shower cap on and wear as long as possible.

I had mites from somewhere, and did take ivermectin. My doctor said its one of the safer drugs out there and has long history.

It does work, two doses three weeks apart to kill baby mites.

Now any of these treatments will not work if you don't launder your pillow case and sheets with borax hot water and high heat. Same with combs, brushes, towels. You have to be a maniac.

Yes, a pinch of borax in water helps too with neem powder capsules NOT the liqud which is not safe to take that is only for putting on skin, or in shampoo. It stinks as bad as coal tar shampoos.

Try adding neem oil half a tsp to shampoo and conditioner.

Neem is effective against bugs. Warning it is stinky so use a shampoo with scent. I use a natural citrus shampooo as citrus oils are anti bug.

Additonally take neem capsules. The oil is toxic internally but not capsules. Also buy d-limonene capsules. Orange oil is used against bugs. I used both of these recent bout of some kind of mite and eradicated problem.

You can also try Diatomaceous earth. Use as a mud pack on scalp. Most bugs hate it. You can also dust your scalp with it, then wear a shower cap over it at night.

I also found dog shampoos with Peroxide, Micronized Sulfur and Salicylic Acid very effective. I used one from Pet MD. It is unscented, and gets into hair follicles and scalp well! With shampoos you can add neem, tea tree, sulphuric etc. leave on as long as you can then rinse.

Been trying everything as well for the last 16 months, I got them on a holiday to Hamilton island, well hope you're cured, I am going to try dmso with peroxide next, I found daily applications of sulphur mixed with lotion very helpful, I just cannot get them out of my scalp. Good luck.

Here is what I did that works, because bleach, borax, turmeric, onion and vinegar are way too harsh to apply on skin.

ORDER>> Neem oil and Tea Tree online (100% cosmetic grade).

GO TO>> grocery store an buy unrefined extra virgin coconut oil, buy several bottles of fabric disinfectant spray, medicated body soap and Sulfur shampoo. GO TO>> Beauty store and buy Eucalyptus oil, Peppermint oil, Rosemary oil. GO TO>> Natural food store and buy African Black soap with Tea Tree.

First>> strip bedding, wash with bleach. Spray fabric disinfectant on coach, chairs, carpet, Car seat

NEXT>> Shower with sulfur shampoo, medicated soap and african black soap. leaving soaps on body for 5 or 10 minutes with water off.

THEN>> Apply coconut oil, Eucalyptus and peppermint oils

REPEAT next day, soaps, shampoo, coconut and peppermint oils.

WHEN Neem oil arrives, apply that.

Have you tried clove oil in vodka and used as a spray? Lavender oil with peppermint oil in vodka applied as a spray may also be helpful. All three of these oils are considered helpful for detering these mites.

NOEL, ORH here, I got mites several years ago and nothing worked until I read that hi heat will kill them. Put all clothes a bedding in a plastic bag and washed in high heat. I have a sauna and got in it twice a day at 160 degrees. You right in that you can kill the adults and the eggs re-infect you. Thus it takes time to get them all. I was corresponding with a guy in England and he killed his with a Rife Machine. Scabies and mites are both parasites. Heat will kill them. I also had a ointment that I coated my skin with to prevent then from getting oxygen. When I get into trouble, I throw the kitchen sink at the problem and sometimes do not know what solved my problem. Just know that you must keep you clothing and bedding in plastic bag and wash daily in hot, hot water. ====ORH====

Yes, you are right, petroleum jelly chokes the mites and also causes the sulfur to penetrate deeper in the skin for more killing action.

I guess neem soap is ok but rubbing pure neem oil on skin made me dizzy.

Petroleum jelly chokes these mites. Also, sulfur cream 10% works faster if u apply petroleum jelly first before the sulfur cream. It causes the sulfur to penetrate deeper.

I had a friend who was severely infested. Permethrin creams, lemon oil, tea tree oil, neem oil, you name it she used it-- No cure. It was driving her crazy n depressed.

I always have ivermectin injectable handy coz its a very convinient antiparasite meds, knocks out mites n worms etc.

We don't have access to ivermectin tablets for humans. Nothing to buy in this remote Philippine island.

So we did an experiment. We got a syringe took out 3 cc 1% ivermectin liquid from the bottle took out the needle. Then she rubbed petroleum jelly from neck down to her feet. Made it sit for a good 10 minutes. Thick amount was applied. After that drop by drop, we rubbed the ivermectin liquid from neck down.

Let it sit for 5 minutes before putting on clothes. It itched like hell! But she bravely took it, did not scratch. After about 10 minutes, the itching subsided until it was gone entirely.

She slept through the night. We left the meds there for 10 hours before washing it off. The next day the redness was gone, the rashes were dry, and her very dry skin was not so harrassed anymore. No more itching!

The treatment was repeated the next night. So two nights in a row for the first week, then once a week for 4 weeks. Scabies gone! We did pray so much that first night of treatment n expected a miracle. And a miracle she got!

We got borax n dusted it all over her house, everywhere. Sprayed lemon oil mixed wd water all over as well. Together wd the repeated laundry, cleaning etc.

She treated her place like a warzone. Always wearing pants tucked inside thick socks.

Never using clothes more than once, never sleeping on the same clothes u wore that day. Constant dryer n washing. Different shoes n slippers in her room .

Constantly rubbing petroleum jelly.

Hair Dryer for Scabies:

Yes, this absolutely works! Just blast the parts with heat using any hair dryer. Blast it every time it itches. So keep your hair dryer nearby. Once a week apply permethrin lotion leave it for 24 hours. In two weeks time, they're all gone.

Tea tree oil applied to skin everyday for one month as prevention. You really can't kill all that is in the environment. So just make sure they dont have any host for a while until they all die out eventually. If u can use tea tree oil soap and shampoo, the better!

You don't need to suffer yourself with all those bleach, peroxide soaks.

Not sure what kind of mites you have that are so visible, even so, here's a tip: I bathe flea-ridden kittens in Dawn soap (the original kind.) The fleas would run and hide in the kittens' ears. To stop this, I put mineral oil in the kittens' ears. The mineral oil traps and kills the fleas. If anything is hiding in your ears or nose, try a little mineral oil before you do your other treatment.

Use a hairdryer on all the lines/spots/itches of the scabies. Use it as close and hot and as long until it starts to hurt. You can feel the relief right away. Do more until you feel like you don't want to burn yourself. If you need to repeat later or the next day - do it until they are gone. They die and the redness goes away. I originally thought of this because the clothes dryer works and I had tried EVERYTHING on my skin. It is amazing how well and quick it works.

Except for Diatomaceous Earth (DE). I'll keep that in mind.

Sea Salt Bath cured scabies in 4 days

I tried lots of things for my second bout of scabies, white vinegar spray, peroxide and DMSO spray, borax bath, everything worked for so long then plateaued, the vinegar spray (50% water/50% Vinegar) and peroxide (3% with DMSO) worked the best, applying 3 - 5 times a day, you could see them coming out of the skin with both products, but still not total annihilation of these blood-sucking mites after nearly 3 months. I read a 10 year old post about sea salt bath, well all done and dusted after 4 days, 100 liters of hot water (as hot as possibly stand) in tub and 1.5 kilograms of sea salt with little or no anti-caking agents as possible in AU Saxa sea salt was best. soaked for 10 minutes back and front, and both sides, left nothing un-soaked, even scrubbed skin to loosen top skin and open pores. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
