This is all probably due to the heat dissolving & removing the natural oils from OP's skin, which would get splashed onto the cooler shower walls & not get rinsed away thoroughly by the hot water, perhaps even becoming firmer in that cooler environment.... HOT showers cause DRY skin & other problems!
So, the cold water doesn't remove near as much skin oil -if any- which had a noticeably beneficial effect on OP's skin. Win Win!!! Warm & cold showers are therefore much more healthy to take!

I got 70% reduction in scalp inflammation in only 7 days with aloe vera powder. I just get the raw organic dried powder and mix about 1-2 teaspoons in a glass of water twice a day. I also drank yarrow tea.
I'm surprised glutamine isn't mentioned here. Supposed to heal the small intestine gut pretty quickly due to being a food for the cells in the small intestine. There can be some cancer concerns of taking glutamine supplementation though, so that's a consideration (perhaps use it only once now and then while doing some of your gut heal stack. If taking glutamine supplementation, turmeric and/or barberry tea can help minimize it's usage by cancer cells (as well as not having any sugar).

Shea Butter
★★★★☆
OTC creams didn't work, prescription meds were not an option and many homemade salves, ointments, lotions and rubs just didn't work for me.
Never tried aloe.
However, we use coconut oil for everything in my house and I tried it on my psoriasis. It was ok, but the results didn't last long. I put it on right after showering, while I was still damp. It's looked good that evening, but in the morning the dry patches would be back.
What did work for me was Shea butter. I only need to apply it once a day and I do so right after my shower. :) I have a little patch on my knee that's looking real good and doesn't itch or hurt.
I've also started drinking green smoothies.
Hope this helps someone else.

The doctors all asked the same question-was there an injury, or a life changing event-they were looking for a trigger-most people who have psoriasis to the degree my husband did-are younger at the offset-he was 50 years old. His only life change at the time was a job that had him working indoors and working through the nighttime when he normally would have been sleeping. He worked through the night and slept (as best as he could) during the day. He kept this schedule for several months and I believe this was the trigger they were looking for. He has always been a healthy, muscular, active man-he became tired, sick, and had a long list of illnesses. Regular sleep is important and I believe sleeping during the night is essential to good health. To wrap this up-after many months of searching and trying different meds, herbs, salves, remedies, we found John Pegano's book on Healing Psoriasis-followed his recommendation to stop eating nightshades and saw immediate results. The boils-terrible boils-dried up and have not returned-the Psoriasis is gone besides two patches on the insides of his legs near his ankles (we believe those will clear up with more time. ) We have followed other suggestions in the book but this one seems to be what turned things around, drastically. The nightshade vegetables include Potatoes, Tomatoes, Egg Plant, Spicey Peppers, & Tobacco. I hope this helps someone else suffering from similar problems with Psoriasis, cellulitis, or boils (cysts). We are still amazed at the results from something so simple-it was hard at first to change his diet to meals without these foods-but he will not touch any of them now.
Bee Propolis
★☆☆☆☆
I tried the bee propolis on my scalp for psoriasis; I guess I misunderstood how to use it; its extremely sticky and stains. So I had huge globs of brown sticky stuff; it would not come off at all, not from my fingers or the sink or the countertop and certainly not from my scalp. it was like I had superglued my hair to my scalp. I wrote the company; they said they had no solution of how to get it off. Anyway, I finally am soaking it in hairspray/alcohol for an hour or so before I wash it and it is gradually coming out. I assume it should have been diluted; anyway, it doesn't seem to have helped the condition.
I would advise you to use virgin coconut oil it has been found to be an excellent natural treatment for relieving psoriasis. A common recommendation is to take 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil each day. It can either be consumed directly from the spoon, or you can mix it into a fruit smoothie, sautee vegetables with it, or use it as a replacement for butter when eating pancakes. Another option is to apply virgin coconut oil topically onto the affected area 3 times per day.
Note : Use virgin coconut oil extracted from coconut milk.

Neem Oil

So, after re-reading everything here on Earth Clinic, I decided to try the neem oil. I did some more research and decided to try the oil, instead of the leaves. The smell of the oil is kinda strong (resembles garlic) but, for me, this worked beautifully. Within the day, my ear stopped oozing and throbbing and wasn't so tender to the touch. It took my cold sore till the end of the following day to feel better, but it is healing..... For me, this is huge.. I have tried so much... Lysine, acv, vco, clay... Almost everything on EC... Lol. If you suffer from either of these, please give it a try. It's a wonderful healing oil.

Don't know if it is the combination of these things or the anti-inflammatory and mineral properties in the cherry juice that has brought about this healing. I am thankful for this amazing improvement! My skin hasn't been this clear since I was a kid!

Dietary Changes, Supplements

I started seeing a doctor who's approach was nutrionally based. I have eliminated bread, milk and sugar from my diet, yes it was hard, and taken increased supplement including Omega 3's, Primrose Oil, Vit A, Folic Acid and DIGESTIVE ENZYMES. Also I have used primrose oil on my body along with a skin cream for sensitive skin. I have to admit it has taken a while I am now on my 10th week but my skin is finally clearing up. I would say it is 75% clear and added benefit I have lost over 20 lbs. I have abused my body all my life with junk food and have been obese for most of my adult life so this was quite a challenge but I can now say that I intend to maintain this dietary lifestyle as I can see what I was doing to my overall health and perhaps I could thank the psoriasis for the wake up call that caused me to ultimately change my ways. So I would urge any one who can relate to my post to please seek help from a more natural or dietary minded physician and I hope you can also experience the relief I have begun to have. Good Luck and God Bless!

I developed psorisis on my legs and arms in late December/early January. I had an extremly stressful fall and December, which I would guess was the fuel that lit this fire..
It was extremly bad on my right leg and covered my leg from ankle to knee. If it wasn't itching unbearably, it was burning. I couldn't wear socks and had to roll my pants up to my knee because I couldn't stand for anything to touch it. At first I was using hydrocortisone cream on it, which did relieve the itching, but wasn't healing it.. After a few weeks, I started worrying about what was actually in hydrocortisone cream. I did a search on it and found out I didn't want to continue using that and having those chemicals leach into my bloodstream. I then starting trying all kinds of natural remedies (I avoid any type of pharmacutacels like the plaque). I did not want to get caught up in the medical merry go round or use any man made chemically derived creams or shots.
Let me point out here, I am not an expert, I'm just sharing what worked for me.
I came to Earth Clinic to see what has worked for others.. I tried many of the treatments others had tried, but not one alone did the job. They releived the symptoms, but it wasn't healing.
I've done a lot of research on Essiac for my cat, who has a tumor. Something told me to dig further, so I did, and read an article about a woman who had psorisis for something like 8 years and nothing worked, but when she tried Essiac, it finally cleared up. Knowing that Essiac is actually good for us (it's natural herbs that build the immune system), I decided to try it myself. I have read that they "think" psorisis has to do with a break down of the immune system, so using Essiac made good sense to me. I used an Essica Tincture, and put a half dropper full under my tonque 3 or 4 times a day. Along with that, I used the other items listed above, which I feel was the answer.. Not just one treatment, but a combo.
I started spraying a mixture of apple cidar vinegar (organic) and water on my skin after showering, then patting dry.. It's believed that the Apple Cidar Vinegar will help get your skins PH levels back on track.
I started using an organic Lavender Chamomile body butter. Lavender, as I think most people know, is just good for our skin, and Chamomile is the #1 leading herb for healing the skin. I have to say, I don't much care for the smell of Chamomile, but this combo of Lavender and Chamomile was incredibly soothing, so the smell was just a minor problem for me. One I quickly got over once I realized how much it was helping. Once I started using this, I was no longer waken in the middle of the night by itching/burning skin.
I read where many people had good results soaking in salt water. We have an iPool (excercise pool), so I purchased a salt water filtration system so I could basically soak in salt water every day when I excercised.. I made sure I got in the pool once a day for about 1/2 hour for 30 days straight. I would think soaking in a bathtub in salt water would create the same results. I used Morton Pool Salt, but I've read that Sea Salt works wondefully.
It took about a week before I suddenly realized my skin was really improving.. Within 2 weeks, it was itching/burning much less, within 3 weeks, remarkable improvement. It's been about 6 weeks since I started these 4 treatments, and the psorisis is pretty much gone. I would call it 99% better. My left leg and arms are completely cleared up, and my right leg, which was absolutely the worse, doesn't itch, it doesnt' burn, there is no raised skin.. This leg was very red January - March.. There is a slight discoloration in a few spots, but I have no doubt that, too, will clear up with time.
At first I was using these treatments daily. Now I spray the apple cidar Vinergar on maybe 2 times a week, I take Essiac 1-2 times a day, use the pool every other day or so, but do use the body butter daily, however, I was using it 4-6 times a day (whenver the itching/burning became noticable), but now I have to remind myself to use it because I'm no longer having symptoms.
I hope this information helps someone else. I never realized how distressful psorisis is until I developed it myself. I spent hours and hours researching natural remedies for it, and after trying this, that and the other thing, I have to say, these four treatments finally did the job!
Best of luck to all you Psorisis sufferers.
