I kept going with the detox and changed my diet, No dairy, no flour, no sugar, no gluten. I also started probiotics and I started a homeopathic treatment, a year later I am about 85% Psoriasis free. It has been a very slow and painful process and I always itch even when I have no patches on my upper body just a few on my legs.
I tried every cream and ointment, every oil to calm the itch. The only thing I have found useful for me is Cocoa butter. This product has been the only one I've found calms my skin immediately. I use it all over my skin from face to toe and it is wonderful!
Certainly a very annoying problem to be dealing with.
Here is the thing. Psoriasis is a stubborn beast that just does not answer to many things at all. If the P is in an aggressive state then im sorry to say I have yet to find any natural solution.
The whole diet thing is largely a scam or affiliate marketing type thing, however a good diet is obviously still very important. I just have yet to notice any real difference with the P in regards to diet.
The only thing I have found to work on the skin portion is a 50/50 mix of glycerin and witch hazel, and it comes with some compromises. It can give me some relief for a few hours to help me get some things done, but it will raw the skin out and cause some problems, but it does tend to tame the itch a little bit. It's a catch 22 as it seems everything is with Psoriasis.
If its in certain places you have to check for a fungal infection first. After that, slowly ramping up some more toxic drugs will ultimately bring you relief, however they do come with compromises. I ultimately found relief with some coal tar and some salicylic acid, HOWEVER, my body became toxic and the problem ultimately reared its head elsewhere, so ultimately a very compromised solution.
Lest we forget with the P, the problem is happening inside the body, so toxic drugs to alleviate just push the problem inside more and toxify the body, but if a real bad aggressive itch then if not fungal on top of it, there truly is little other way right now.
Sadly all these diet fads and crazy cures are nothing more then affiliate marketing money making lying scams preying on the desperate to make some money. Its a pathetic business but is what it is.
I have found a good mix of things in a bath can provide some relief, but as far as like a cure cure, it doesnt exist, I'm sorry to say.
Good luck with it. Its truly an awful disease with nearly no hope of any long term positive result from anything.
Apple Cider Vinegar, Enzymes
★★★★★
I went to the store and bought some organic, unfiltered, with mother, Apple Cider Vinegar. I began by putting a little in the cap and then using my fingers to apply it topically to the affected areas. I also began consuming 1 tablespoon each morning diluted in a small glass of water (it tastes very bad so I brush my teeth immedately afterward). Within 3 days I was noticing an improvement. Within two weeks it was all gone. It's been over a month now and I still do the same routine. I think I wll for the rest of my life. It supposedly has many other health benefits. I cannot yet attest to them but for psoriasis, it changed my life.
Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil
★★★★★
I have therefore had to rely on natural remedies for the face and lips. Aloe Vera applied to the face instantly gave relief from the itch but it made the skin dry and tight. I followed this with pure coconut oil. Between the two, my face has cleared completely in 6 days while my body is still slowly and nowhere near effectively being treated by steroids. I am also taking ACV and dandelion capsules for the liver, but if they were the major remedy I would have seen better results across my entire body. So for me the answer seems to be a combination of aloe vera gel and pure coconut oil. What a blessing! And I learned about it just from this site. Thank you all.

Till this day, I eat it 3 to 4 times a week for breakfast. Be sure to follow the exact guidelines if you are on a quest to cure cancer. Also, be careful to stop consuming "focc" 3 to 4 days before any surgeries as it thins your blood nicely. I am a true believer in this diet as a "cancer preventative".

Thanks for the information! Through this remedy,Yahweh seems to be healing my Psoriasis plaques (all!) HalleluYah! I started taking this 3X's a day about a week ago:
2 Tbsp. apple Cider Vinegar mixed with 1 tsp. Baking Soda. (I am 160 lbs. You may want to use less or more baking soda.)
Mix this with warm pure water 1/2 to 3/4 cup.
I take first on rising, during the day, and before sleep at night. The large plaques on my leg are only faint pink patches now, as are the ones under my arms and other places. Before I started drinking this drink, my leg plaques were shedding skin at least twice a day and I seemed to be itching all over. I do follow a healthy diet, taking a number of supplements including lecithin capsules. I was waiting for my Psoriasis to disappear completely before reporting my case. However, maybe my words will help you now if you are are being plagued by Psoriasis as I was. May you also be blessed by this remedy is my prayer!

Stay away from red meats. I tested this. After eliminating red meats, dark meat (chicken/turkey legs and thighs) and processed and refined foods from my diet, it took about 2 months but my Psoriasis totally cleared up... totally. Anytime I would eat a nice big steak, I would have a flare up on either my legs or my arms. It wasn't a large flare up, but enough for me to realize that the red meat was not reacting well with my body. Now, having said this, we also have a better understanding now that what our cows and chickens are eating affects the constitution of their meat. Cows that are "grain fed", their meat contains certain compounds that makes their fat very unhealthy. That's why today we are seeing labels that say "grass fed". Somehow the grass affects the quality of the fat and the way that we are able to metabolize it. I have NOT tested this theory yet to see if the meat from cows that are ONLY GRASS FED will give my skin the same reaction. The same would go for chickens and turkeys. The way these animals are jam packed together like sardines and all the antibiotics they are fed and their horrible diets, I really think this also changes the composition of the fat in their meat. Just food for thought. However, to be safe, avoid red meat and dark meat or meats that are high in fat.
Stay away from pork! Pigs are the garbage collectors of the animal kingdom. Pigs will eat ANYTHING and EVERYTHING -- and do. They clean up the dead things. You truly ARE what you eat in this sense. Most people are not aware that pigs do not excrete toxins which means whatever they eat gets stored in their fat and then gets consumed by you. You will never look at bacon quite the same way again when you realize what is REALLY in that fat you're eating.
Next is to eliminate ALL dairy from your diet. This was very hard for me as I was raised on a farm and love dairy! However, what a change I noticed when I did. No butter, ice cream, milk, etc. I noticed STRONGLY that eggs are one of the WORST offenders. Almost as soon as I eat eggs I get a breakout.
Next eliminate processed, refined and "pre-fab" foods from your diet. No "white" anything. No white flour, sugar, rice. These foods are "empty" and do nothing but gunk up your system and cause things like yeast overgrowths and just all kinds of trouble, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, etc.
No fried foods, no refined oils. This will also make your psoriasis go crazy. Any oil that you buy off your store shelves that does not say "cold pressed" has been processed and refined and is full of partially hydrogenated oils. Notice the labeling... they all say "0 grams of trans fat PER SERVING" and then notice what the serving size is. That means that the amount of trans fat is "negligible" to where they can list "0 grams of trans fats" so long as you don't exceed their serving size. States all around the country have banned and are in the process of banning partially hydrogenated oils from being served in restaurants, etc. There is a reason for this... they are toxic and poisonous... and will make you fat. The last thing I will say on this topic is this... they say '0 grams of trans fat per serving' and claim that they are following labeling laws and they are very misleading because the regular consumer is not aware of how they are being less than forthright. My question to the manufacturers is this... I have this batch of brownies that I have baked. I have ONLY added a little bit of dog crap in the mix... just enough that, if I use the guidelines of our labeling laws, I can put on my label "no dog crap" but then on the backside of my label, I will say "no dog crap PER SERVING". I would like to ask the manufacturers if they would like to eat my brownies?! Ha! I doubt they would.
I have said the above to make a point... if you do not look out for yourself, the FDA and the food manufacturers are NOT going to do it for you. Right now, as I am typing this, there are literally dozens of names for monosodium glutamate (MSG) another one of those nasty little ingredients that will make your psoriasis go off like the 4th of July and it can be found in nearly ALL pre-fab (pre-made) food, which is why you need to either avoid all pre-fab foods or educate yourself about what you're eating and become an avid label reader. :) There are websites that if you put in "names for MSG" they will tell you all the different names and what to look out for.
Also orange juice and tomatoes. Any overly acidic foods should be avoided. There are places on the web that list out which foods are acidic and you can avoid those.
I had Psoriasis for nearly 20 years and when I got really serious about finding out what was going on with my body, I was able to TOTALLY eradicate this "incurable disease". :)
Good Luck!

I am also drink baking soda in water or lemon water after meals to combat acidity. After drinking these for a few days I noticed that the swelling above my right knee went away after being swollen for over a year. I started doing this after a source stated that arthritis is caused by acidity.
I am also taking Bill Thompson's Special Alkalizing Combo No. 1 in the morning and evening. You can do a search for this on this site. This Combo helps with fighting candida as well.
Thank you to everyone who responded to my request for simple meal ideas. I will certainly try what has been suggested. Also thank you for this site and all its contributors over the years. I have used many remedies for myself and my family with great results.
With all that going on in this world, I believe we need to start stocking up on our remedies, meds and also on food, etc.
Stay safe and be blessed!

Alkaline Diet
First, besides gluten-free, cutting out all wheat and wheat-related (cousins of wheat) products....
Nothing with 'ose' at the end: sucrose, lactose, glucose, etc.
Cutting down on too many supplements that overload your liver to process might help, too.
No yeast or anything related to yeast.
Carbs are sugar, so I would stay away from that list I see online all the time about white carbs: no rice, sugar, bread, pasta, potatoes. Eating some of these foods is the same an eating sugar out of a bag, no difference.
Organic coconut oil deeply massaged into your elbows after a shower when your pores are open.
P73 Oregano Oil is a must, but you need to try a little bit first to make sure you can tolerate the strength. If it burns a bit, you can dilute with a few drops of olive oil. This has effectively and completely killed the itch during flare-ups and is a wonder 'drug'. If and when you become brave enough, a couple of drops under your tongue everyday will help kill what's in your body causing this. I used to pay $60 for 1oz back in the day, but I see it out there for much less cost today. The price doesn't matter if it works and relieves. You cannot put a price on your health.
Limit dairy as much as possible, again dairy turns to sugar via carbs.
For psoriasis, what we put into our body is more important than what we put ON our body. If we are eating the wrong food/s, nothing we put on topically will matter, it's just a waste. Also, don't put anything on your skin that you can't put in your mouth and ingest. I suggest tossing any and all topical ointments with brand names, creams, salves, etc. Worthless and full of chemicals.
Nobody knows your body more than YOU do, so see which foods are most tolerable and stick with those only to avoid these terrible flare-ups.
I'd love to know if any of these suggestions work for you.

Candida Connection
I couldn't agree with you more. Psoriasis, eczema, etc. are all symptoms of something else that is wrong. Treating symptoms, and trying to treat just one part of the body without looking at the whole system, rarely gets anyone anywhere. A paradigm shift is needed indeed!
What first got me to look into self-treatment was when I began to have unexplainable stomach pains. I first went to the doctor for my stomach and she said, "oh tummy aches are very common. See if it goes away in a few months. " That was it! She didn't even examine me! I then went to a naturopath who said it could be food sensitivities. She tested me for gluten and dairy allergies, nothing. Like the doctor, she said, "see if goes away."
That was when I really took things into my own hands and hit the internet, discovering the candida connection to a host of ailments, including skin diseases, IBS, and other so-called untreatable illnesses.
Like any paradigm shift, if we do go to doctors it is our responsibility to speak up and share our own findings, even if the doctor shakes them off and tells us we're crazy. I have a friend who completely changed her doctor's perspective when she was prescribed antibiotics. She accepted the prescription but said she'd like to try some natural remedies first. She came back to her doctor in a week totally cured, and gave the doctor her own "prescription. " Since then, her doctor started to work with a naturopath and now prescribes alternative treatments before handing out antibiotics. So: there's hope!
In the meantime, viva self-empowerment and sites like this!!! :-)
Borax and White Vinegar
★★★★★
Easy cure. Apple cider vinegar is great but it is just not strong enough to kill various yeasts (Malazessia spp. [check it out on Google. What you need to do is dissolve 3 teaspoons of borax in half a cup of white vinegar. Pour this over your head (the yeasts begin their life-cycle here), and down onto your face and shoulders (and possibly your chest), and then leave it on for about 20/30 Min's whilst having a bath. Do this for about 3 days running (... If you can), and about once a week for a month. After the vinegar treatment, rinse your head/hair with half a cup of washing soda in a mug of warm water. At the slightest sign of any trouble repeat the treatment. Don't go anywhere near Doctors. Most are just crap at what they do.

After reading some comments in here I shampooed my hair a solution of borax and water and drank a mixture of borax, ACV and baking soda. I am totally cleared of flaking but my arthritis is still active. I have been clear for over ten years now. Occasions of itch at the flaking spot I will resume with one or two shampooing sessions. I am back to this page after so long for some other issue and wanted to contribute and thank this site for curing my flaking psoriasis.
High-Dose Vitamin C, Zinc and Vitamin D
★★★★★
I've had psoriasis since I was in middle school. I don't take medication, I don't drink and I eat pretty healthy so it's pretty well controlled. Occasionally I will still get a spot that pops up here and there.
Recently I was looking for a good vitamin C product to take in conjunction with my Vitamin D and zinc just for immune support. I happened across an article called The High Dose Oral Vitamin C Protocol for Cancer and Viral Infections on a site called Chris Beat Cancer. I read the article and figured if this guy beat cancer by taking high doses of vitamin C, surely it would work to strengthen my immune system.
I ordered 2 pounds of non GMO water soluble vitamin c in a fine powder form on Amazon. After about a month of following the protocol laid out on the Chris Beat Cancer site, my psoriasis is gone! What a pleasant surprise!
