I cured my psoriasis using coffee enemas, organic coffee.
I use Hope Relief Shampoo and would not be without it these days (Australian brand).
It has almost completely cured the Dreaded Itch and, what is more, I don't need to wash my hair nearly so often these days. As I recall, it is pretty natural in its make-up.
I apply a small quantity straight onto the wet scalp and work it in thoroughly.
You need to leave it on for a few minutes and then wash it/rinse it off thoroughly afterwards.
You will need to have a few goes at this before lasting results will become evident possibly, depending on the severity of the "itch".
You may (or may not) need the conditioner that compliments the shampoo. If so, put on the scalp after rinsing off the shampoo-then rinse again..

Dish Soap for Scalp Psoriasis
Dish soap eliminates itching right away, too. It's a natural brand common at grocery stores. The unscented is what I use most but the lavender works, too. It relieves itching and heals the sores when used every other day. I have very long hair and the soap has not damaged it.
Another big name dish soap does not work nearly as well.
I started taking selenium and flush-type niacin and getting more protein and my scalp is feeling better. To accentuate the flush (which feels so good as it creeps up the back of your neck and across the top of your head! ) chew the niacin and swallow it with some water and then chew on a 1 inch piece of fresh ginger. Do it on an empty stomach. I get up early in the morning and do it and then go back to bed and let it do its thing. I also take 3 drops Lugol's 5% and magnesium with it. There is a store brand that is marketed as a chelated magnesium that helps with sleep and bone health. It knocks me out and has a pleasant relaxing effect for a few hours after I finally get up.
If you wear hats, headbands, or ponytails that trap heat and moisture they may be causing the condition. Just washing them after each use may resolve the condition.
Virgin coconut oil scalp massage feels amazing, too. ☕
My scalp psoriasis started making me insane. It only recently started after having psoriasis in my ears for years. A friend suggested psoriasis shampoo from Amazon. I did a search and didn't order the one she suggested but found one from Taiwan that was highly rated, I decided to try. It's spendy but I think a lot of other countries are ahead of us in research and development of more natural remedies. Long story short, I tried it and the reviews didn't lie. The itching stopped almost instantly. A day later, there is still itching on my neck, below the hairline, but not as bad. This is with one application, I feel confident it will continue to improve with more applications. If anyone wants to try it, it's a "scalp purifying" shampoo in a black bottle. There is still a very little habitual urge to scratch but if I ignore it, it goes away. Again, only one application.
Herbal Tea Mix
Herbal Tea Mix for Psoriasis:
- 10 gr of oak bark
- 30 gr willow bark
- 40 gr common mallow
- 20 gr earth smoke
- 20 gr walnut bark
- 30 gr greater celandine
- 50 gr nettle
- 30 gr heath speedwell
- 30 gr marigolds
- 20 gr yarrow
Add 1 tsp. of the herbal mix per 250 ml of water, bring to a simmer, and leave for 1-2 minutes.
Drink 1.5-2 L of this tea per day.

Effects of Sugar, Acidic Foods, Proteins, Sleep/Fear/Stress and Gut Homeostasis
Here are two circumstances that created flares where psoriasis appeared suddenly, in new places (over my face and neck). I have never had it like this before, and have had only scalp psoriasis for thirty years. In both situations, my diet changed suddenly.
It might sound strange, but I am excited by the patterns! I hope you will clearly see the three elements that are common to guaranteed psoriasis outbreaks. My two cents at the end.
HOW TO INVOKE PSORIASIS FLARES, A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
[Circumstance 1: Vacation at parent's house for two weeks]
[Step 1] Eat daily diet of store bought BBQ chicken (2 days in the fridge then frozen), greens, coffee, soft cheeses with processed crackers and 1-2 glasses white wine. All of this was unusual for me. The greens didn't compensate for the acidic nature of the other foods, and the sugars in the wine and crackers. Usually I'd be gluten free, or close to it, and not eat processed foods.
[Step 2] Stress involved with packing and moving to a new location & wanting to pack a lot of luggage perfectly to make travel easier.
[Step 3] Sleeplessness due to worry about being late, not wanting to say goodbye on that note. This broadly translates to fear, stress, self doubt. I've noticed this is a primary trigger with psoriasis.
[Step 4] Went on a 5 day olive oil fast to try to correct. More on this in a separate post.
[Circumstance 2: Applying for Grad School on a Deadline During Lockdown]
[Step 1] Ate 1kg of sugar over a week. It is the first time I've had sugar in the house, and I went nuts with the deliciousness. After 7 days, I noticed the start of psoriasis on my eyelid (unusual). During this time I had to quickly try to decide how to spend the next six months, and there was a lot of uncertainty. Ate three cans of Kippers (smoked herring) over three days to try to get Omega 3s.
[Step 2] Sleeplessness due to concern about application. Offset the three hours of sleep by the gift of some gorgeous coffee someone sent me. While I stopped drinking coffee, I went to town, with 3 to 5 coffees over a day. The next day, the psoriasis was out in force, forehead, eyelids, behind the ears, over my ears. What the sugar and protein began, the coffee and lack of sleep turned into a quagmire.
[Step 3] Continue drinking coffee and not sleeping well. Not drinking much water, either. My tongue is now white. Before Step 1, my tongue had been pink. This indicates that
[Step 4] Attempt to offset psoriasis by eating lots of herbs and spices (sumac, cayenne, basil, rosemary, curry) in butter beans with coconut oil. Also having Vitamin C and green powdered drink, with pea protein and digestive enzymes to attempt to offset prior misgivings.
HYPOTHESIS: Psoriasis flares are the result of inflammation and ingesting foods that promote unfavorable bacterial and fungal growth. These conditions take time to resolve, however can be resolved by restoring balance. In scientific journals, this is known as "Maintaining Gut Homeostasis." Further resources are available via Google Scholar.
1. Sugar destabilises blood sugar, causing inflammation. It is also food for "bad bacteria" and candida to grow in the intestinal system. While in mainstream medicine, small intestinal fungal overgrowth (SIFO) is not commonly recognised, there are many studies in specialist scientific journals around Intestinal Candidiasis, accessible via via Google Scholar.
2. When the body is in a state of inflammation, it is less capable of tolerating proteins. This may be a result of changes in the intestinal structure during inflammation. It is also less capable of tolerating anything that may ferment in the intestines in a way that in open air would usually produce mold (e.g. coffee grounds, fruit, flours).
3. Caffeine and coffee contribute to inflammation by promoting acidity in the body. This may increase growth of unfavorable organisms in the gut.
3. Low quality sleep destabilises blood sugar and promotes inflammation. In part this is related to increased cortisol and stress levels, and circumventing the usual repair mechanisms that occur during deep sleep.
4. Self doubt and rejection are primary triggers for stress for all humans. The can be managed through establishing a lifestyle that promotes a healthy sense of self and good calm boundaries around that. An unbalanced gut promotes anxiety.
5. Die-off that can occur when we suddenly change the diet after promoting unfavorable gut organisms. The gut takes time to respond to changed conditions and heal. It takes less time to become unbalanced. Removing the triggers will remove symptoms, however the gut also needs to be healed. Olive oil fasting may help with this.
6. Early and focused intervention to maintain gut homeostasis after a dietary trigger results in a controlled and shorter psoriasis flare. Longer periods of gut imbalance lead to longer recovery times for the resolution of gut inflammation.

Coconut Oil, Hot Water
My psoriasis came on 3 years ago - with a vengeance! I did not know what it was, and doctors were clueless (and predictably incurious). It burned, stung, and oozed. The itching nearly drove me insane (or perhaps it succeeded - not sure - haha). The ONLY thing that calmed the burning was coconut oil (extra virgin organic) but was not 100% effective. It sure helped, though.
For the itching, I discovered by accident that running the area under VERY hot water - almost scalding - was incredibly effective and the relief lasted for several hours (AH! Sweet sleep! ) but I had logistics problems because I could only access the bathtub faucet which prevented a lot of areas from getting this relief. You'll need to be right at the controls, as your skin will tell you "hotter" or "cooler" as needed, and it will vary by the moment. Pat dry w/ paper towel & don't apply anything to the skin.
There are a few theories why the hot water works, one of which is that it forces the release of histamines out through the skin. But as far as I know, no one really knows why. It just does.
I had what I called the Rash From Hell. It started 3 years ago after an extremely high stress episode. First my face broke out with oozing, itching & burning. That cleared up after 3 months, then it showed up on both hands. Couldn't prepare food, do dishes, household chores... That took about 3 months to clear up. Next was my legs - ankles, thighs and calves. Then my arms.
I went to the ER when it was at its worst. 4 times. No help. I got a range of diagnoses from "some kinda rash" to shingles to pellagra! No M.D. ever figured it out. Just prescriptions up the wazoo to treat their guesses. I didn't take them.
After researching off and on for almost 3 years, I finally realized it was psoriasis, which I then researched intensively. After less than a week, it is now 80-90% cleared up! Here's what I did...
I started taking 50 mg of zinc 2X/day. Won't mention brand name, but it's "zinc (as zinc gluconate dihydrate, zinc picolinate)." Chelated. You may want to try a higher dose or take more than twice a day -- I only weigh 88 lbs, so you may want to adjust accordingly.
The sores are 90% gone. All I have left are a few areas of flaky skin, mostly on my shins.
For dead skin clean-up, I'm using a solution recommended by Tony Pantalleresco made of about 16 oz white vinegar, 1 rounded tablespoon of sea salt, and 20 drops of 5% lugol's. Shaken - not stirred. :-) I dampen a wash rag with it and then gently rub off the dead skin.
I won't call this solution a cure, but it will help keep the dead flaky skin to a minimum, and some areas where I've used it have stopped being flaky altogether for about 3 days now (but that could just be the zinc doing its work).
I tried many many things over 3 years' time before I realized what I had, so feel free to ask me about something you're considering.
Black Seed Oil, Diatomaceous Earth
Cat, make your own black seed oil for much cheaper, using this link, change the garlic for black seed. There is a quick option scroll down. You can buy the black seed ( nigella sativa) at indian stores, also under the name Kalonji. For your sister's stomach, you may try mallow extract. Best to you
Black Seed Oil, Diatomaceous Earth
Doctors gave cortisone cream that works briefly but does not stop new growth of this awful disease. So now, we are testing/using used 2 items topically on my sister: Black Seed Oil and diatomaceous earth. She puts a tsp of BSO into hands and spreads on the infected sites waist down. We mix a tbsp of diatomaceous earth and 2-3 tbsp. water into paste and spread on upper half patches - allowing it to dry on skin. I wish she could take both internally to see if can work but she has severe stomach issues from once having cancer.
1. Black seed oil turned patches into pink patches within 2-3 days of application. But, because we ran out of the small amount we had, they are reappearing slightly -- so must get more.
2. Diatomaceous earth is turning the white patches black first then seems to heal a bit toward pink patches. But, we have not been as consistent with this as it does look unsightly.
Summary: I like what the Black Seed Oil is doing but it is so expensive and runs out fast -- we can barely afford it. So we are applying the paste of Diatomaceous earth for now. Sure wish she could ingest both but don't want to hurt her super-sensitive stomach that gives her much pain. One thing for sure, we won't give up!
For scalp psoriasis, I currently use 6 drops tea tree oil, 1 tbsp aloe vera gel, and 1/2 tbsp coconut oil. I apply it to my scalp and leave it on overnight. In the morning, I wash it out and shower. This helps relieve the itching for a while. I have to do it every night, though. I hear shampoos can flare it up. I've been using a cleansing conditioner. Are there good shampoos for psoriasis that won't fade my hair color? Regular dandruff shampoos will fade my color with their sulfates and parabens, and they could also irritate my scalp.
I used a blend of essential oils. This blend consisted of Lavender, Frankincense, Copaiba, Peppermint, and Cedarwood. (Cedarwood being the most important ingredient). I gave to a friend who has suffered psoriasis for many years. He is now asking for more. He says it works!
Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

Summary: diabetes, alcoholism, bulemia, topped with a 10yr abusive relationship ending in a soul crushing divorce, and job struggles equals a nasty outbreak of psoraiasis. Shocked it didn't happen 10 yrs ago from all the stress.
It all started about a month ago around all *sensitive* areas, I had been crying so much it started occurring around my eyes and got so painful that there was more crying and depression while basically crying blood. Now it's under my arms, on my wrists, the palms of my hands, between my breasts, on my chin, behind my ears, shoulder, and neck. It was so dry and cracking so often.
Tried topically applying ACV diluted with a little water - it does help with the itching however not long lasting and burns like a SOB on cracked skin (of course) and when every crease by your eyelid and corners is an open wound - owww!
Coconut oil also provided temporary relief but again after 30min - 1hr I was peeling more scales off.
The unrelentlessness reached an unbearable pinnacle after spending over 8hrs tweezing off scales yesterday that reappeared within moments.
I gave up and tried the 1Tbsp ACV with 1/2tsp baking soda and a small amount of warm water and took it as a few small shots chased by gatorade.
No doubt it is completely vile and no fun, I took it in the afternoon and planned to take it again before bed but fell asleep. I was shocked upon waking up my eyes weren't glued shut from painful scales and scabs! There was a HUGE reduction in the amount of scales which I removed most of so I took another dose. Right now I can stand and sit without the crease between butt and legs tearing painfully, touch my ear without it splitting, and squinch my eyes shut without grimacing in pain for the first time in weeks.
I'm going to keep it up and see how it goes but I'm already excited after suffering from low self esteem and adding these painful, unsightly scale covered eyes and chin that can't be hidden it would be great to keep this relief and catch my breath to heal.
Also I'm a picky eater and have a terrible diet so I've added more fruits and veggies opting for grilled vs fried things. This didn't seem to have a big impact but still gonna keep trying to opt for healthier choices and cut out junk food. As for alcoholism I weaned off liquor without experiencing typical withdrawals by drinking wine and now have days that I don't drink, so cheers to self improvement.

I don't know about the Candida problem specifically, but I DO know from personal experience, that I made great progress with my digestive issues once I commenced taking HCL tablets under the instruction of my local Naturopath.
Older people loose some of their stomach acid unfortunately. They tend to lose some important other stuff also but you get the message!
I decided later on that I would change to taking ACV during my main evening meal only and this seemed to work just as well ( and was much less expensive! ).
I drink it through a straw and rinse carefully afterwards and clean teeth a half hour later.
You could mix it with Bicarbonate of Soda if you are worried about your enamel OR take the tablets.
I got rid of the intestinal gas that was bothering me and I think that I am digesting my food better (and getting the nutrients out of it) especially mince, chicken and some carbohydrates! Older people need some protein in their diets.
I got rapid relief by doing the above and only take the recommended dosage as outlined on this Site. In fact, I usually only take a couple of tea-spoons of it at a time in a big glass of water either during a meal OR within thirty minutes of finishing the meal (important).
I don't care to take it on an empty stomach.

This topic can get mighty frustrating in knowing what to do. As someone who has a very serious systemic candida issue, I can't afford to get it wrong.
Bill's Killing Candida book says to take hcl with meals and baking soda an hour later. Not sure what to do any more?
Gluten, Dairy, Enzymes, Probiotics, and HCl. All have a major role to play in the battle for your health. Most of us have problems digesting our food because we are supposed to be eating raw foods which have enzymes that naturally starts breaking down food in our stomachs before our stomach acid (HCl) starts in on the food an hour after we eat. We are also supposed to chew each bite about 20 times to mix with our own enzymes in our saliva. The enzymes begin breaking down the food and "turn off" when our stomach acid comes in and works on the food some more. Then the food moves to our intestines where we are supposed to have an alkaline environment to turn these enzymes back on to continue helping break down food into the nutrients we need. Because of our lifestyle today, none off these things happen as they are meant to. So if you are not eating raw foods like a salad (that is organic! ) then you need to be taking an enzyme supplement when you take the first bite; Then take a HCl supplement an hour after you eat. And of course eating foods that promote an alkaline environment in your gut will also help greatly. However, that last part it is not so easy to do consistently. Particularly if you are already on another diet or have an allergen or intolerance.
My brother has psoriasis and is autistic and intolerant to gluten and dairy. We are also trying eliminate nightshade vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplant, paprika, etc). So far we have found that eating less nightshade vegetables and using topically or eating more coconut oil is helping us heal some of his psoriasis.

After 15 years in AU visited my home town Berlin on my own for about 3 months, at the end of which all symptoms had dissipated and I was cured.
It never recurred.
Pine Nuts, Blackberries
I wanted to let you know that my psoriasis, which I have had for about 15 years or so, has gotten better since I started doing two things. First of all, it's only about 3' by 4", which is kinda small compared to many other people. It hasn't gotten worse in that time, just moved down from my knee to my lower leg. It itched and scaled a lot. The itching went mostly away when I started eating blackberries every day. Then I bought pine nuts, and wow! The scaling went completely away too! In addition it seems some of my food sensitivities went down or away with the pine nuts. I know psoriasis is considered an auto-immune disease, and I think the pine nuts may be useful to interrupt that process for some. It definitely hasn't fixed my psoriasis, just made it less 'angry', and less thick a bit too. I think it may be the sterolins in the pine nuts and the mannose in the blackberries, as that is why I tried them. But I am not really that sure.
I used about 2$ Canadian in pine nuts a day and about 2 cups of blackberries per day also. I also avoided pasteurized milk products and wheat, but I have been doing that for a while.

My elderly father had a horrible case of psoraisis. After researching I made this salve many times for him:
1/2 cup shea butter; 1/4 c castor oil, 1/8 cup aloe, 1 oz almond oil; 1/2 t Vitamin E, 5-10 drops lavender, 5 drops tea tree, 3-4 drops Myrhh & Frankencense essential oils. Melt over low heat, mix and apply. You can also add Neem.
The massage therapist we had seeing him 2x week called to ask what it was... she was amazed at how it helped heal in in a couple months and loved the way her hands felt. The thick skin disappeared on his elbows but we didn't have the oppty to see how it worked on the scarring as he passed. Liver detox is also important.

Apple cider vinegar for Psoriasis
A couple of years ago I developed an itchy rash on my scalp behind my ears shortly after having my hair colored. It progressively got worse with severe swelling of my ear and high fever. Ended up in urgent care with cellulitis. Antibiotics cleared it up but it kept coming back. After my 3rd round of antibiotics I was diagnosed with psoriasis.
I was told by the doctor to use a medicated shampoo and a product called Scalpicin which helped to keep the itching down and kept it from getting infected but it never went away. I decided to start on the apple cider vinegar regimen.
I would take an empty water bottle and pour about a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in and then add 1/2 tsp baking soda. After it stopped fizzing I added water and drank it. I did this everyday and within a few months I noticed my rash was going away. It was completely gone on one side of my scalp with just a small area left on the other side.
I decided to stop taking the apple cider vinegar just to see if it had anything to do with it. For 2 weeks I did not take the apple cider vinegar and the rash came back on one side with a vengeance. It got infected and I took silver biotics to clear up the infection and started back on the apple cider vinegar drink.
After a couple of weeks the rash went away again. I am now a firm believer in this drink and I am back on my regimen of taking it everyday during the week and take off one or two days on the weekend.

I have a friend who had psoriasis really bad. It covered her whole body, her head too! I told her to take food grade (35%) hydrogen peroxide drops in a glass of distilled water as follows,
1. Take for 30 days.
2. Start with 1 drop day one, day 2, 2 drops, day 3, 3 drops continue to 21 drops if anytime you feel nausea back off a drop for a day and continue, take no more than 21 drops until the 30 days are up.
That was almost a year ago and her skin is clear and healthy! Hasn't had a outbreak since!
